Nice padded armrests that move in several directions. Most importantly is the lumbar support it offers me. I have several crushed vertebrae in my lower back and adequate lumbar support was an absolute must.

Sad to say I was replacing a previous chair of the same I’ve had for about 4 years. The previous chair started to tilt to the one side and didn’t sit up as high as it used to. One time also during the course of 4 years they replaced the gas lift as that too failed.

But this last problem with the chair permanently sitting at a tilt, was a FIRST, so we opted to get another chair of the same, since outside of those 2 issues it had been a comfortable chair and seemed well constructed other than that.

Now 4 years later and just putting together a replacement chair of the same, it is obvious the quality is more subpar. The weight of the chair itself feels lighter than before, I pushed both the old chair and the new one, side by side and there was a noticeable difference, even in lifting up each of the chairs as far as weight.

However the two other factors concern the bonded leather which is definitely MUCH thinner than my previous chair, and like what you see on the more cheaply constructed chairs for like $59-$100. Also the padding for the back part of chair and the very top is horrible, like they forgot to stuff and fill it in more.

I’d forgotten this chair came with a 10 year limited warranty. Had I known the chair was going to be more cheaply constructed this time around I’d have opted to have them just replace the seat plate mechanism that appears to be the reason the previous chair began to tilt to the one side.

I only realize that now because upon turning the old chair over today, you could plainly see that is what happened. A part of it had broken. However the weight limit of the person sitting on the chair did not exceed the amount stated for the number of hours per week.

So I am quite disappointed in the Sealy brand based on the quality of this chair. Don’t think I would be able to recommend it this time around. Especially given the price tag.

I purchased this chair and initially it was comfortable but over time it has required four replacement gas lifts and seat plates. The arm leather has cracked and flaked. The chair needs repair when it leans to one side or the other and the seat plates crack and then when ever you move in the chair it makes a terrible noise.

Now I purchased this chair because of the weight limits, and the warranty, but I did not get my money’s worth. Every time they sent replacement parts they sent either Lazy boy, broyhill or generic seat lifts.

True designs makes all three of these brands. They claim higher weight limits for each brand or model. The last time, today they (2-7-2018) they sent Generic parts and the gas lift is far too short for the chair.

I am 6’2″ and when I sit in the chair it is most uncomfortable. I called True designs again, and asked for the correct gas lift, the problem with this is that while the one they sent me is shorter than the one it is replacing they claimed that they sent the right part and the parts are not marked with model numbers as they are interchangeable between chairs and the manual does not list part numbers for the chair.

I was told this time they would send me a new longer gas lift, but that next time I would have to replace it. But this raises another problem. You cannot separate the gas lift from the seat plate, and they will not send another seat plate with the longer gas lift.

If I had to do it over again, I would not purchase any chair made by True Designs. Each time I have purchased one of their chairs they break down within the first 10 -12 months. even the more expensive chairs break down quickly.

I suspect its because they all use the same poor quality parts. and make no mistake it is always the seat plate that cracks and causes the chair to lean. I am so tired of True Designs telling me that a chair with a 10 year warranty should break down every 10 -12 months.

I cannot be any happier with my purchase! This chair comes with all the tools you need to put it together, and it is ridiculously easy to put together (which truly says a lot coming from someone like me because I am not known for my handyman skills, let me tell you).

I got the burgundy mesh color, which I think is a cool and unique color for an office chair and goes really well with my dark wood desk. The chair is super comfortable and supportive, allowing me to work from home for hours on end in this quarantine situation that, in all likelihood, will probably last for at least another month where I am.

I love the flip armrest feature because I can either fully tuck myself into my desk by doing away with the armrests, which is good for when I’m typing, or I can use the armrests if I want to lay back a little and lounge.

Because I live in a tiny Manhattan apartment where my working office area is essentially a part of my living room and space is an issue, it’s great that I can just flip the armrests up so that I can tuck the chair as far into the desk as possible creating more space (which I realize seems sad that I need that little bit of extra space but, hey, that’s NYC for ya.

And lastly, I didn’t even realize that it came with two sets of wheels – the standard office chair wheels which are fine, and also these amazingly sleek roller blade wheels that are perfect for my hardwood floors and silent enough that I’m sure my landlord on the floor right below me doesn’t hear a thing! I have sat in this new chair and have not had such problems, I even took a nap on it laying back it was so comfortable. In the future I will buy thrid party polyurathane wheels as with these basic wheels will usually get clogged and dirty within 6 months.

I made a request to see if they can send me new chair arms so I don’t have to load up the giant box with everything and send it back.

There is about a week wait for customer service response. so there is also that. I has now been twelve days and I have not heard back from customer service I contacted them on 6-17, its now 6-29.

I do love this chair— the metal had some scuffs on it, but this is one of the best looking white leather desk chairs. It’s super comfy too.

I bought this chair 2 months ago in pink. Gonna be honest and say that I wish I had picked a darker color because I’m constantly afraid I’ll spill on it, but the color itself is super cute. I’m also a digital artist and spend hours in front of the computer at a time, and this chair and it’s rocking mechanism are so so comfortable.

It’s pretty small but I can still sit cross legged or any way I want, and I chucked a blanket over it to keep it clean. One thing is, I thing I accidentally disabled the tilt mechanism and I cant figure out how to undo it.

I didn’t keep the manual so I’m just hoping for a stroke of genius at this point.

I spend lots of hours at my desk drawing on tablets and working on design work. I sometimes end up inadvertently hunched over and with bad posture. So having a chair that is comfortable and supports me when I remember to correct myself is huge.

Chairs that don’t support only make the issue worse. I also like to sit criss-cross with my legs up in office chairs sometimes, so this chair meets both of my picky needs. It is super comfortable, supports me well, was easy to assemble, and I can tuck my feet to sit criss-cross if I want with no problems, even though I am tall and sometimes have problems fitting in chairs.

The color is great and matches my desk nicely. If you are also picky like me for super soft chairs that you can sit in different ways, I can definitely recommend this chair. Worth the price.

I brought this for my 9 year old for Christmas. Its big, suited more for an adult but I think that’s why he loves it so much. It’s big and cosy and he has lots of space to move around. The only thing he has struggled with is the cushion doesn’t seem to rest properly because of his size.

Either way, he prefers with the cushion rather than without. He spends much more time on his PC now and is finally getting more use out of it. We are very happy with our purchase and think the price was spot on.

Bought this as new replacement gaming chair for my son for Xmas and been looking for one with the foot rest. Have to say this has been the easiest boxed piece of furniture I have ever had to put together.

Good quality and easy to follow instructions. All the parts were packaged well including all the screws and parts and they even supply you a little pack of spare screws etc. Would def recommend this chair and my 14 year old is very happy with it.

Quick tracked delivery as well from company.

If you plan to watch a lot of movies, program or play a lot of PC games where this chair is where you’ll spend most of your day this chair isn’t worth it. Mine lasted about a year and a half. I’m not even 200lbs and took very good care of the chair.

it’s a comfortable chair i really liked and got my share of complements from. The biggest flaw to the design of this chair is the part that your legs can rest on when you’re done with it and push it back in, if it’s not in the whole way you may fall forward.

There should be a locking mechanism of some sort. I’m not a fan of how the “lumbar support” is pretty much a fanny pack with stuffing in it that clips to the chair. I was expecting much nicer in this price range.

it feels like real leather but isn’t, it’s not very durable. The usual metal studs in jeans started to dig into the chair after about a year. Luckily it can recline in various positions if you’re binge watching a series of movies or shows.

The allen screws I wish they provided more of in case I wore some out for maintenance of the chair or so. The biggest tips with this is when assembling it is do the last half to full turn with the short end of the allen key if you plan to tighten every screw by hand otherwise the chair won’t stay sturdy.

When you have the chair assembled loosen the screws ONE at a time and dip the threaded part (what goes into the chair) into wood glue. It’s the only thing that kept the screws in place. Otherwise the screws won’t stay still for more than a week.

How mine broke was I started to hear “snaps” and my chair went down a little. I looked down and saw the part the wheels connect to had a big crack in it. That part of the chair is made of plastic. would I buy another one of these? no.

The Hyken chair requires significant “customization” after assembly to make it even reasonably comfortable. Mesh seat: I weigh 150 pounds, but the mesh sinks when I sit on it. It’s like sitting in a deep hole and is bad for the hips and spine.

I had to insert a large foam cushion AND a gel cushion between the mesh and underlying plastic frame to make it passably ergonomic. Lumbar support: Digs into my back. Had to insert an extra foam cushion between the lumbar support and the mesh on the back of the chair.

Also had to duct tape the support to keep it from sliding up and down during use. It doesn’t stay in place. Headrest: Had to tilt my head too far back to use it. To make it usable, I had to attached a car seat neck pillow to the front.

Also, the mounting holes and bolt channels on the back are misaligned. I have to periodically retighten the bolts to keep the headrest from falling off the chair. Purchasing this chair was a “test run” to see if it would be worth buying 30 more for my workplace.

It looks nice. But it’s poorly designed and sloppily constructed, even for the price. I definitely won’t buy another, and I doubt this one will last more than a few years.

Product was well packaged in a sturdy card board box by the manufacturer (Union & Scale), care was taken to protect all of the sharp corners of various parts by wrapping them with a thick cardboard. Most of the parts are made out of thick molded plastic, which is very sturdy.

The only parts I believe are hard metal (Steel) is the controller and the arms assembly and the control cylinder that go underneath the seat. The Instructions are very clear and concise and all of the hardware (screws) are color coded and packaged well in separate pouch, which makes it a breeze to assemble (Took me 45 minutes to assemble).

The only tool I needed was the Allen Key provided with the hardware to assemble the entire chair. The chair has good amount of movement up and down and back and forth. The head rest can be tilted to a good extent to provide that extra support to the back of your Neck.

The Lower Lumbar support is at the right height and can be moved up and down by a few Inches, which helps position it to user’s needs. The arm rest moves up and down by quite a bit. The arm rests are just soft enough that you will be able to comfortably rest your arm for the entire day and are designed to be wide enough and located at the right height in its lowest setting that it supports your arm well when using a keyboard or Laptop on a desk.

I am 6 foot tall and athletic, all the adjustments fits me in the right places at it lowest setting, just to put things in perspective. The mesh on the seat, the back and the head rest seems to be sturdy and well woven with a good material of the right gage.

A bit of cushioning is provided underneath the mesh for the seat at the front where the underside of your knees rest and the lumbar support, no such cushioning is seen on the back or on the head rest, which is understandable.

There is good depth to the seat, so that you feel well seated at all times. The seat to the control cylinder and the control cylinder to the base of the legs is a soft assembly (i. e no bolts hold this together), The top and bottom of control cylinder sits in a hole on either side, one in the control arm assembly under the seat and the other in the center of the leg.

So just right after assembly, if you hold the seat and lift the chair, the seat might separate out from the cylinder (you can put it back in seconds, not a big deal), but after some use, I have tested this and they seem to stay together when you lift the seat to move the chair.

Highly recommend this chair.

I brought this chair based on reading the reviews and star ratings. Also, watched quite a few Youtube office chair reviews. All gave positive reviews. I work at my desk 10-12 hours a day, so I rely on my chair.

My opions, Pros: the price, casters rolls smooth with ease, head/neck rest height adjustment is good. I’m 5′-8″, it’ll be good for ht from 5′-6″ to 5:-9″ (but the mesh is rough). Seat ht adjustment & recline tension are good.

Lumbar support is ok. The recliner is the best part of this Chair. Cons: “Most dislike with this chair is the mesh”, seat and back mesh material is plastic/vinyl (not sure), it’s hard & rough, not comfortable to seat on for short or long period of time.

(not like the higher quality chairs w/ fabric mesh). the armrest are too narrow, inside- inside is 18″, center-center is 21. 5″. I’m average build and my arms dangles off to the outside, have to tuck my eblows in use the armrest.

This cause my neck to tense up. armsest does not sly out, away from each other. You’re stuck with 18″ of clearance. Would I buy this again? – No! And don’t recommend it. Spend an extra $100 and get a better chair.

The coarse plastic mesh was a deal breaker for me!.

I ordered this chair as I wanted something more stylish since you can see my open concept office from adjoining rooms. This chair is definitely stylish with the gold accents and the contrast of the black seat.

The chair is more comfortable than I expected with the high back and it does offer some lumbar support. I’m short so having this is rare. I can sit in this chair comfortably all day. I also appreciate how affordable this chair is and it arrived just a few days after I ordered.

Communication was superb from when the order was received, being processed and then full shipping and tracking details were sent the next day!! Overall, I’m very very impressed and love my chair!!.

Instead of reaching out to me directly to see if I like my chair, it’s more efficient for the company to send an automated email survey. Unfortunately, that prevents the company from addressing a problem before it becomes public.

So, since the company prefers the court of public opinion over private discourse, let’s get started. It’s a good looking chair and fairly comfortable, but the one I got just isn’t level. The seat has a slight tilt to the left, making my left hip sit a little lower than my right hip.

It’s not adjustable in that way, so I can’t correct the tilt. It’s too much hassle to send it back for a replacement that may or may not be level, so I’ll just have to get a foam cushion to level out the seat I have.

Imperfection is less expensive than perfection and that’s the choice we have to make. I paid less, got a tilted chair and I have to live with that decision.

Somewhat easy to assemble. I needed some help, but leaving all bolts overly loosened during assembly might be your best shot if you are putting together solo. Leather is bright white with a quality faux finish.

Nice tall back; comfortable so far. No staining from jeans or dark wash clothes. We will see how it holds up. Using as a full-time home office chair.
