These treats are great for my dog’s teeth nothing has helped her horrible breath for more than 10 minutes yet but still, 9. 5 times out of 10 she takes these treats and starts chewing immediately which means they are not her favorite but she still super approves! 😊 Never thought you’d catch me using a milk bone product but here I am.

I am aware that titanium dioxide is in it but I did my research on the ingredients. and both dogs and humans have this color additive in their food but it is always limited to 1 percent intake which the government approved websites deem safe for consumption.

I do wish they’d get rid of it though because any damage to DNA is not good. However you can’t complain since this treat has limited to only one controversial ingredient like Titanium Dioxide. It has no other concerning ones for me, that may cause cancer or damage a dog.

It’s very hard to find treats without color additives like Red 40 and so on, that can potentially build up cancer cells over time. Milk Bone has done well with making some treats that don’t have the cheapest chemicals in them, for this brand of their treats.

Although Milk Bone co. , I do have to say that it has not yet been passed as a law that Titanium Dioxide be removed from pet foods. Therefore I’ll trust that my dog will be okay eating one of these treats a day- at least until the law is passed to remove the chemical.

There are so many better alternatives to dental chew than milkbones. People are buying these dental chews despite the fact that they allow meat and bone meal, BHA, ARTIFICAL peanut butter flavored, colors, and other potentially harmful components in their other products.

VOHC approval is BETTER but that doesn’t mean they are good. You shouldn’t be supporting this company while saying that “at least these ingredients are better than the terrible ingredients they typically have.

” Try whimzees, which are rated second because they contain sugar, for a less expensive dental chew. C. E. T Veggiedent is a highly rated, veterinarian-recommended dental product.

I bought these for my dog after realizing how expensive another popular brand of dental treats were. I found these at the store and figured I’d give them a try. My dog really liked them. Then, my friend accidentally ordered the wrong flavor for her dog and gave me 4 bags for free! So I decided to continue giving these to my dog every night.

These are now his absolute favorite treat! He goes crazy after our last potty break at night because he knows this treat is coming. He will run to the office and sit, waiting for me to give him this treat.

The vet also recommended these. You can’t beat the price! I highly recommend giving these a try for your pup.

These Greenies dental dog treats are my Chihuahua’s favorite. I have been giving her this brand since she was just a puppy and she took to it immediacy, never had a problem with her not wanting to eat it.

Having tried several of the Greenis line of treats, this one seems to be the one she likes to eat the most. I also prefer this variety over the others as well. I personally prefer the bag greenies over the box greenies because the bag is easier to open and close and keeps the treats fresh.

Every morning she is by the pantry patiently waiting for her greenie treat. When I give it to her, she gives me her paw, takes the treat, and runs away with it to our bedroom. The whole thing is gone within a matter of minutes, there never is any waste with this one.

During the 8-year period of giving these to her, not once has she ever gotten ill or vomited from them. For an 8-year-old Chihuahua she has great teeth and gums and I contribute that to the Greenies.

I do brush her teeth and use a dental spray but this treat is what makes her teeth stay healthy. We have never had a problem with any of her dental checkups and she always gets an A+ bill of health. These treats are very tiny which is perfect for smaller dogs.

They do a great job keeping her teeth and gums cleaned also, she does not have bad breath. Her breath has never been an issue and that is because her teeth are in great shape. Brushing and dental cleanings have also helped throughout the years but, this treat has been the best in-between maintenance.

My vet has a store attached to his practice and keeps Greenies stocked on a regular basis. I prefer to purchase my bags from Amazon, you just can’t beat the price. It’s never too late to start with these treats.

I know dental care is important for my dogs (two bad Corgis). Once they grew in all their adult teeth I went on a quest to find the perfect dental chew to supplement the occasional brushing. I started where most of us would start – the cheapest chews I could find.

Over the next year I tried them all. Some my dogs liked, but I would notice their teeth weren’t being cleaned or their breath stunk more than normal. Others they wouldn’t touch. Finally, after working my way up the ladder of dog dental chews I got to Greeneis and have not gone back since.

They have been using Greenies now for close to two years (Dogs are now 3 and 4). Sure, they still have dog breath but it’s not foul like it was with those other dental chews. I also notice very minimal plaque on their teeth, which I keep tabs on regularly.

What sealed the deal was when I took them to the vet for a check up the first year they had been getting their Greenies and the vet remarked how excellent their teeth looked. I told her I seldom brushed their teeth anymore but gave them a Greenie each morning, which she nodded in approval.

My 2kg Chihuahua looks forward to her Greenie every day, and she’s been getting them for four years now. She literally does these hilarious little loop-de-loops the second I ask her if she wants one, and I can always tell when I’m late giving them to her because she will come and find me to let me know at the same time each day.

They keep her occupied for a few minutes, and have a gummy/chewy/bendy texture (not easily snapped). That being said, I don’t know how much they’re doing for her dental health. Her doggy breath hasn’t improved or worsened while having these, and the vet even mentioned that there are better dental treats out there (unfortunately the one she recommended isn’t even available anymore).

But, my girl loves them. She obviously looks forward to them every day, and that’s enough for me. Regular dentist check ups and doing my best to brush her teeth are the main things anyone can do to prevent dental issues for their pet in the future.

I ordered this because both of my dog’s breath is horrible! I’m talking make you want to vomit horrible. I bought this particular flavor because it contains Peppermint, Parsley & Vanilla. Peppermint and Parsley are known for fighting bad breath.

I wouldn’t say this product is a cure for their bad breath but after they eat a piece, it goes from vomit inducing bad breath to tolerable bad breath. I cook human foods for my dogs and so their breath is worse than a humans.

I gave it four stars only because it is as hard as a rock. So, I put a Twistix in the microwave for about 7 seconds to soften it and then cut up each Twistix into about 6 pieces. I wish they would make a bag of 1.

5″ pieces, especially since you’re not going to give them an entire Twistix at once and a small piece will do the job. Even after making the Twistix soft enough to cut into pieces, it’s hysterical how long it takes both of my dogs to actually finish chewing it.

It’s like watching them play with a chew toy. Simply hysterical. I am happy with my purchase and I plan to buy it again.

I am extremely disappointed in Twistix. My dog LOVES these chews. I love the way they smell & the way they make her breath fresh. However, when I pointed out to the Twistix(N-bone) company that previous packages had contained 8 chews, but more recent packages contained 7 more often than 8, all of the packages since have only contained 7 chews.

While this may not seem like much, over time it adds up. My dog gets 2 chews a day. A package with 8 lasts 4 days. Makes sense. I ordered more Vanilla Mint today & was shocked to see that the price has almost doubled for the same package! I must admit, unless the number of chews per package is now 16, I will not be buying any flavor of dental chews from this company (N-bone,Twistix) in the future.

With finances as tight as they are, I find is extremely disappointing that a large company duch as Nylabone would put additional stress on pet owners for bigger profits.

Main reason for buying these was to help clean up my Lucy’s back teeth. Lucy is 9 years old (border collie mix)and had considerable tartar on her back teeth. Short of a trip to the vet for an expensive dental cleaning, tried these with much success.

Plus her breath is better with these part of her semi daily diet. She has no difficulty chewing these. Ordering another 3 packs of the large. Would recommend.

My puppy girl goes nuts for these! She knows she gets them when we get our dinner plates. She waits patiently until I say “Rhaynie, do you want your Mintie?” Then she runs into the kitchen, jumps, spins, and gobbles it down.

If I ever forget, or she’s concerned I did so, she will start appearing everywhere I go as if saying “Um mom, you forgot my dinner mint!” As for the efficacy of the product: I think it does help somewhat with ‘dog breath’.

It doesn’t replace brushing or anything. But I know it’s a healthy, minimal ingredient treat that my girl looks forward to every night. I’ve tried various other dental treats and she never displayed the same obsessive, addictive behavior she does with these.

My pup LOVES these and only these. We have tried other dental treats and there is no comparison for these being her favorite. They are much more affordable than Greenies, which I appreciate. She gets one at bedtime each night and all you have to do is grab one and tell her bedtime and she runs to her kennel.

She knows with the treat that it is time to settle down for the night. Her breath doesn’t smell, she has very little tarter build up, and it’s no trouble to give these to her. These are not a substitution for having her teeth brushed but that is to be expected.

The smell of the treat itself was a bit off-putting to us humans at first but we quickly got over it. We cannot run out of these treats or bedtime is much more difficult. I wish that more retailers sold them as sometimes they can be hard to find in store.

For quite a while now, I had been using a much higher priced dental chew, but with supply shortages they have become hard to come by, so I did some review reading and decided to try these. We’re still pretty new to using them, so long term, do they work? Too soon to say, but the dogs love them, and they are indeed minty, so that’s a plus on my side.

I don’t think these do much for dental health. They really are just an expensive high calorie and high sugar treat. I bought these because my dog’s old family had been giving them to her regularly. Her teeth and gums were not in good shape – a lot of plaque, bad breath, etc.

When I took her to the vet, the vet said she would need a dental cleaning. After I told him I had just started brushing her teeth, the vet said we would check in again on her teeth at her next visit.

Since I’ve been brushing her teeth, her teeth and gums have completely turned around. Her teeth have no plaque, are white, she no longer has bad breath, and her gums are healthy. Don’t waste your time with Greenies.

I received the Merrick Fresh Kisses Mint Breath Strips – For Extra Small Dogs (5-15 lbs) as part of a #VoxBox Campaign. My particular bag was meant for a Small breed dog (15-25lbs). It came with 6 brush-like treats similar to Greenies brand.

I gave one of the treats to my dog that eats a variety of treats but none have mint or other essential oils. I am sorry to say he would not take a bite or chew on the treat at all. He was polite enough to take from my hands but that is as far as we got.

I left the treat with him overnight to see if he might eat it out of my view but again he refused to eat or chew this treat. He did not seem to like the smell and I myself think it is a little strong for a small dog with much better senses than mine.

First and foremost when it comes to treats I have the most finicky beagle. Hard to find a treat she will take. I was given these Fresh kisses for my honest opinion and my opinion is high! Baby Girl immediately took a treat and started munching away.

Her breath definitely smelled better when she finished. I also like the fact these help with plaque and tarter to also clean the teeth. I was very happy to see these are cooked in the USA as we do not feed our pets treats from out of the states.

All in all I was very satisfied with The Fresh Kisses and will be purchasing more for Baby Girl!.

I recently bought a variety of dental treats to preserve my puppy’s beautiful teeth and keep up with my older dog’s recentlty cleaned teeth and while the dogs like them all, these are my favorite. The dogs love them and they smell VERY MINTY.

They don’t cause the loose stool for either of my dogs like some of the other dental treats do. The mint smell isn’t long lasting in their mouths but I have yet to find one that does last. I wish I could break them in half because even the tiny size is still a decent volume for a small dog.

I limit other treats and cut back the food a little on the days they get these.

I found these a couple years ago, and was unsure at first because of the mint. I was looking for an alternative when I couldn’t find another treat, which my dogs always loved and devoured. Well it turns out they love it maybe more! I have medium size dogs, and even though these are minis, they seem just enough with probably a couple apiece.

I buy the 80 pack because it’s more economical that way. These I think are more reasonably priced than some other brands. If your dogs like other mint flavored bones, they’d probably like these.

I have 3 pups currently who all love their Greenies treats. The treats are Veterinarian approved and are part of my pups daily regimen. None of our pups have ever had an issue with GI problems while being fed their Greenies.

With a proper diet and their Greenies and other Veterinarian approved chewable treats, their teeth are beautifully maintained with very little tartar/plaque and they have never had any bad breath problems either.

We have been faithful Greenies customers for 3 generations of our pups and will continue. Although these treats may seem to be more costly than other over-the-counter treats, the end result thus far has saved us $$ for any dental cleaning or addressing any GI health issues.

I’ve got two Scotties and one is super sensitive to a LOT of things. Basically anything a dog probably shouldn’t be eating. Let’s just say dog treats have been a nightmare. These are the first treats that don’t disrupt his digestive system and that he loves.

And seriously, they do WONDERS on their teeth and gum health!! I love that you can break them in half and give them a half treat if they’re a smaller breed. I can’t recommend these enough! And no more stinky gross dog treats yay!!.

We have a 70 lb golden who hates getting her teeth brushed. I mean. she is so sweet and loving, but it just pushes her buttons if you mess with her mouth and you are likely to get nipped at. So I looked at the ingredients in these and gave it a try.

She can be a food snob so I wasn’t sure if she’d like them (seriously, she thinks bananas are the devil). She LOVES them. better than any other treats. She looks forward to them. We give her one in the morning and one before bed.

She is 5 years old and started to have some bad tartar and black near her gumlines and it is going away now. I can’t say for certain her breath is better but I think it may be. I know that her teeth look cleaner! And she loves them so much so I think these are a total win! Plus they have the seal of the veterinary council.

I read that review about a woman saying her dog threw this up and it wasn’t digested. There is no way this isn’t digested. maybe her particular dog had issues with it. My Belle has never thrown up after these and she gets two a day.

I have been purchasing this item as my dog gets heavy plaque on her molars. A great choice after my VET experience. I actually took her to the vet to have her cleaned professionally ($400. 00) and was not happy with the effect of the treatment/anesthesia.

**I started using these chews when the build-up occurred again and truly, they have kept her teeth as clean or cleaner than the professional cleaning. No need to ever have the vet clean the teeth with these.

I have tried numerous different dental treats for my goldendoodle puppy and he wouldn’t eat any of them, but these he loves. He eats one every night before bed; it’s kinda like our night-time routine so he knows it’s bed time.

He sits and wait for his yummy comb every night. I’m so glad I found this product. I recommend these to everyone who has a dog.

I decided to give these a try, because I had tried all the other dental chews (Oravet, Greenies etc. ), and my dogs chewed and swallowed them less than a minute, which was not enough time to do any noticeable tooth cleaning.

The design of this made sense, so I tried again, and my husband and I were both shocked that they made a noticeable difference the very first time! I do brush the dog’s teeth, but they still get tartar build up.

I intend to give these once a week from now on.

So, the pill pockets function as advertised. The dogs eat them. There’s nothing wrong there. The real issue is that these STINK to high heaven. I recently used a different brand and type of pill pocket that was made with peanut butter and no meat and the smell is pleasant, if you are agreeable to the smell of peanut butter and apples.

Since that was harder to find, I placed an order for the Peanut Butter pill pockets expecting them to be the same. They are not! Chicken is the main ingredient and I’m not sure you can say they smell like peanut butter or anything other than awful.

Opening the bag made me want to gag. I’d have to scrub my hands immediately after using one not just because it’s the right thing but because I needed that stench to be gone as soon as possible. It was strong and it lingered.

I was so glad when we finally started running out of these because it meant the twice daily suffering would end. I have since found a source for the preferred pill pockets brand that don’t stink and are just as easy to use.

Dogs still eat those just the same. The problem is not with the function, it’s with the experience. If I can give my dogs pills no problem without being subjected to nasal assault, that’s what I’ll do.

I’ll never buy or recommend this product again, even if they do technically perform as advertised.

Our newly adopted rescue dog was diagnosed with heartworm by our vet. (The shelter said she was not infected. ) She is on the road to health, and is in Phase 2 of the protocol. It’s a pretty rough road.

Izzie must remain calm and still 24/7 for 8 weeks. She is a very mellow dog, but there is to be nothing that causes her heart rate to increase. She could clot and die. The vet suggested pill pockets to administer her meds when needed.

We want to make everything as pleasant as possible to assure Izzie’s complete recovery. The pill pockets are large! Izzie is a short-haired border collie mix and she weighs 50 lbs. We cut the pocket in half and molded it around the pill.

Hand out and presto! She takes the pill happily and there is no muss or fuss. I tell you this lonnnng story b/c I want prospective buyers to know: 1) it’s far better than using cream cheese or liverwurst, 2) no difficulty (we let Iz lick a spoon that had some PB on it so she’d recognize the scent), and 3) whether your companion be wee or large, these pockets can be molded to suit your best pal.

That way, they are economical. Be assured: This is a quality product and eases any and all strain on your furkid when giving meds.

These pill pockets are probably great with very small pills. However, my dog needs to take a very a large oblong tablet that does not fit well in the pocket and sticks out. The opening of the pocket is basically closed because of getting squashed in the bag.

I even cut the tablet in half, and when trying to get it in the pocket opening, the pill pocket breaks apart and requires trying to pack the pieces back together in an attempt to cover/hide the pill.

Unfortunately, I don’t feel like cutting the tablets into quarters. I’ll need to look for another type of pill pocket as my dog needs to take 2 of these pills each day for the rest of his fur-years. Since they can’t easily be hidden in these small pill pockets, my sneaky furbaby often ends up spitting the pill back out.

One of my dogs is a Collie and predisposed to dental issues. I had been feeding both dogs a name brand chew, which they liked, but I did not like giving them something that contained artificial ingredients.

Plus, the name brand chews didn’t seem to clean their teeth or help with bad breath as well as advertised. I did a lot of research to find a better option and discovered the OraVet dental chews. One thing that sold me on this brand is that they are accepted by the VOHC for tartar control.

I bought a bag and gave one to each of the dogs and they enjoyed them. We even did an experiment one evening by holding one each of the name brand chew and an OraVet chew out for the dogs to sniff and they chose the OraVet chews! Plus, these take a bit longer to chew so they have more time to work.

I can see and smell obvious differences in my Collie’s dental health that weren’t there with the name brand chew. OraVet dental chews are the only ones I’ll buy from now on.

This dental chew does give my dog nice breath for a bit but it’s fairly temporary and I’m not convinced it’s done much for my muppet (but I might be wrong as explained below). I probably won’t repurchase these as I have better results from actually brushing his teeth (at the expense of his love for me) My dog, who can be a brat about treats, absolutely loves these.

Unfortunately, he also has a finicky GI and if he eats too much of it, he pukes. And let me tell ya, the size for large breeds is HUGE. So I have to cut this into very small pieces and only give him a few at a time.

Maybe that’s why I’m not seeing results but at the same time, if I give him an entire one he vomits so… It is a very sticky dental chew and I highly recommend giving this treat on a hard floor. I made the mistake of giving this to him while he was in his donut bed and to this day, I’m still picking out green pieces from his bed.

However, I do believe the stickiness of it is necessary so the medication can stick to his teeth and gums to do it’s thing (I might be wrong, idk I’m not a scientist).

That was the reaction that both Pinto and Hazel had to these highly recommended treats from the vet. I even tried peanut butter in the center groove to entice some action. There have been two of them tossed around the house for over a week.

I think the product is an excellent tool for dental health only if appealing enough to eat. Maybe OraVet should get onboard with peanut butter or a meat flavor that dogs might enjoy. The vet said these are better than brushing the teeth.

Only downside is that it only imparts benefits to the back teeth since they do not chew with the front teeth. That is an even compromise if your dog will eat them. I am withholding 1 star based on flavor choice for dogs.

These will be donated to an elderly friend. Perhaps her dogs will enjoy them.

These really help with my Boston Terrier’s breath, but she only likes the red and yellow ones! She gets really excited for red, and calmly takes yellow, but will not touch the green. I don’t even know if they’re different flavors, but she turns her head away whenever we try to put the green ones near her mouth.

If it’s been a while since meal time, she might take it and then we find 90% of it later that she hid so we wouldn’t keep trying to get her to eat it. Wish there was a way to order just one color, because we have to give all the green ones to our friend’s dog.

I gave my dog ONE of these chews three days ago. He is 55 lbs and I gave him the large, so it was appropriately sized. He has been vomiting small chunks of the whimzeez brusheez since then. The chunks are only dime-sized, so he chewed it well, but they are really jagged and still HARD as a rock, did not break down at all.

Our dog does not normally have any digestive issues. He has seemed in distress, panting, and sick since eating it. After reading reviews, this seems pretty common and I am surprised these have not been reformulated to be safer.

I’m just lucky my dog wasn’t one of the ones that ended up in the hospital with a blockage. Very unsafe, will not recommend or buy again.

I have given these to my dog 🐕 before on a number of occasions and he definitely likes the taste. He sometimes prefers to bury them like a bone 🦴 amongst his 🚽 paper roll collection, other times he just prefers to eat them straight away.

I guess it is really all predicated on his mood(s). I definitely give them as a pee pee or boo boo treat and let him know that they are a means of positive reinforcement for good behavior. I am truly blessed to have a very good boy 98.

Received today. I wasn’t sure of the quality. It is the same as Safeway. Better pricing at Pet Circle. Its like its always on special. I normally get it from Safeway when its on special but lately it has gone up to $26 for 28 sticks and not very often on special.

sometimes not on the shelf. All the Dentastix are the same price regardless of the size. I have 2 Schnoodles about 12kg each one is 4yrs and the other 15yrs old. I buy the larger ones and give them 1/2 each every night after their dinner.

My 5 month old pup vomited bile non-stop all night and had to go to the vet in the morning. Gave me a big scare. I checked the age recommendation and ingredients prior to purchasing but it still upset his little tummy.

I?ve since checked the reviews online and wish I had checked beforehand, seems like my pup had a mild reaction compared to others. They must have changed their ingredients because my old dog (who had tummy sensitivities and intolerances) loved dentastix’s.

Overall, I would definitely not use this product again!.
