20 Best Dental Rinse For Dogs (2023 Updated)

I’ve been using this mouthwash for years and the last bottle I bought a month ago is literally just water. The first thing I noticed was the new smaller cap which they included a note stating the pandemic has affected their ability to get their usual caps.

All good there, that’s not a big deal as long as it has a cap I’m happy. Second thing I noticed is they changed the seal from the thick hard to open one to a flimsy piece of foil that’s easily punctured.

Not a big deal either as long as it’s secure. The third thing is the taste. Closys has always had a subtle distinct flavor that lets you know it’s mouthwash. It’s clear just like water but with slight chlorine taste.

Now there’s no taste whatsoever and as someone who has been drinking water my entire life I easily identified the taste as plain old water. I poured some in a glass to see if maybe it had something to distinguish it from water and there was nothing.

I tasted it again and swallowed some and yeah it’s just a bottle of water. Since I’m not interested in spending $12. 00 on a bottle of water I’ll avoid Closys in the future.

My hygienist recommends. I have a constantly high bacteria content in my due to my body chemistry and consequently have to visit my dentist every three months for a cleaning. My hygienist recommended this product to me and I’m glad she did.

II even put I small amount mixed with purified water in to really get the product between my teeth. Yes! it’s a bit pricey, CloSYS is but, worth it.

I have two golden retrievers who love, love, love to chew. After a visit to the Vet, where they reported that my pups teeth were chipped and broken from chewing nylabones and similar products, we had to give up their favorite chew toys.

My vet recommended this toothpaste for my Labrador and so far at his appointments has always remarked how amazing his teeth look (I brush them at least 3x/week). My dog gets excited when I get it out; the challenge is to get it into his mouth and on his teeth before he licks it off the brush.

He is more than content to sit there while I brush all around and gets even more happy if I need to add on a little more toothpaste.

In the past we’ve had dogs that had teeth pulled due to one thing or another. That will never happen to us again. We recently had a 14 year old Welsh Terrier, Jaxson, and he had perfect and white teeth until he died.

It’s all about cheap labor and ingredients. This really ticks me off. There is NO WAY anymore Americans can buy only America made products because most everything is made outside of the US or at least sources it’s ingredients outside the USA.

If we want to buy anything we have to compromise, it’s just not right. There is no way we as pet owners can feel safe and secure that our pets aren’t consuming something they shouldn’t in the products we buy for them.

I guess until so many stop thinking if our pets as objects and replaceable and/or disposable this will not change.

When my teeth fell sensitive and I swish it for a few minutes, the teeth feel fine. It’s also good when gums bleed. I also like hay there is no fluoride which means the teeth are not exposed to harsh chemicals like this.

The peppermint leaves my mouth feeling refreshed. The Eucalyptus soothes any irritation and the oregano kills germs too.

Items came pretty fast and in perfect condition. I love Uncle Harry’s products so much already, I have the toothpaste, mouthwash, and the liquid remineralizer. I’m never going back to fluoride-based products again.

I am so happy that I gave Uncle Harry’s Natural Alkaline Miracle mouthwash a try! This product leaves my mouth feeling so fresh! I do dilute the mouthwash. About one part mouthwash to two parts water and that’s plenty strong enough.

Yes it’s potent! Lol! Dilute it to the strength that works for you. I love it. After brushing with Uncle Harry’s toothpaste, I rinse with Uncle Harry’s mouthwash diluted with water. When I first start to swish, it burns, like Listerine.

So I keep swishing, and then the burning stops. I swish for about ten minutes. My mouth feels incredibly fresh afterwards! And stays fresh. Quite often, after consuming a meal, I will floss, and then swish with more of this mouthwash.

My mouth stays fresh. I brush and swish again before bed. No fuzzy teeth or morning breath when I wake. Teeth feel perfectly smooth come morning. I purchased the smaller 8 oz. bottle, just to try the product out first.

But this bottle will last me a while because I dilute it. I will most definitely purchase this product again. Love that fresh feeling breath and smooth, just from a dental cleaning feeling that I get using Uncle Harry’s Natural products!.

Petrodex does the trick for my two Chihuahuas. Even though their mouths are pretty small for me to get into and actually brush their teeth, I swear by the stuff. Why? Because even if you do what I do, the dogs get a daily dose of what I like to call “bacteria fighter” in their mouth.

My dogs don’t have bad breath, and their teeth don’t look half bad either, considering that I don’t actually get a whole lot of brushing accomplished. Still, here’s what I do every morning, without fail: Put a small dab of petrodex (or bigger if you have a big doggie,)on their doggie toothbrush.

Wet the tooth brush, and just let them lick the tooth paste off the toothbrush. They love the chicken flavor. Stand there a few minutes until the dog stops licking the toothbrush. With each lick, they are dousing their tongue with the “bacteria fighters.

” If they remain interested, sometimes I’ll even do it twice. It’s important to wet the toothbrush so you activate the enzymatic action. I don’t like to put my Chihuahuas under anesthesia, so they’ve only had a professional cleaning once in their 10 years.

So that says something for using this toothpaste regularly.

Only time will tell if this is a truly awesome product. I’m super thrilled that the dog with the really bad teeth absolutely loves it. The other dog simply tolerates it, but this dog is extremely picky.

I think she will eventually absolutely love it too. The company has a really good price. I’d say, “give it a try!”.

First, brush your dogs teeth! It will save you a ton of money down the road in dental bills and the health of your dog. When you brush your teeth, brush theirs!! Enzymatic tooth paste is the best to use according to all the info I have found, I use Petrodex as I don’t know of others out there not due to the brand but that it works.

My little Sheltie Griffin died a year and a half a go and at 14 yrs. and 7 Months, his teeth were perfect and Shelties are big Plaque producers. I brushed his teeth every day of his life without fail.

Dogs will learn to like having their teeth brushed fairly shortly as they really like the taste of the tooth paste. I have a new Sheltie ‘Lucca’ and yes it is the same story, not an evening goes by with out him getting his teeth brushed.

We’ve been using this for about a month now. It’s a decent toothpaste. It comes out as more of a brown gel. The brown color was a bit off-putting at first, but getting used to it. (We are used to using a white, more pastier type.

) This does a pretty fine job cleaning, but I noticed it does not work well in the breath – freshening department. Maybe because it’s not that typical minty mix, but poultry. We will keep using it daily as we have a big bottle and it seems to be working as keeping the teeth clean and in healthy condition.

We have two mini Schnauzers -both joined our family when they were 5 years old and they are now 8. They had no dental care before we adopted them and one of the two had terrible teeth with caries and gum recession.

That poor dog ended up losing a dozen teeth and the Vet warned us that she would very likely loose many others. We started using this toothpaste to brush her teeth daily- a real challenge since the gums bleed and she clearly hurt, but we kept at it.

She also got a dental chewy daily and dental enzymes in her drinking water and a dental enzyme spray at bedtime. Now, 3 years after that initial adoption and teeth extraction this little cutie has lost no additional teeth and no longer has bleeding gums and is perfectly comfortable getting her teeth brushed every day.

I have the unfortunate experience of owning 2 allergy dogs. A shih tzu that has been allergic so bad he has chewed his coat and skin something terrible. He had such a bad body odor and he couldn’t stop chewing on himself.

Entirely irritated constantly. The other is a bichon chi mix that constantly chewed his feet and nails. I have tried so many foods supposed to be good for allergy dogs, grain free, fish or other alternative meat protein.

Spent a ton of money. Ordered this and after just a few days of eating this, all the excess iching and chewing on both dogs has stopped. They both like the flavor and eat it readily. I will be switching up to medium size since my dogs are right on the border of weight between small and medium.

This 3 pound bag lasted 6 days for them. My recommendation is if your on the fence about this food for a severe allergy dog, get off the fence and try it. You’ve got nothing to lose but everything to gain.

My shepherd mix liked this food, and seemed to do well enough on it for the short amount of time he was eating it. I like that the pieces are large enough for him to need to take the time to chew. The small bag that I bought had corn listed as a second ingredient, which was not listed in the ingredient list on this website and it wasn’t listed on the Royal Canin website.

I had to contact Royal Canin twice to get a response from them whether or not that was going to be a new formula. I do believe it is the new formula for the large digestive care and websites haven’t been updated yet.

Having said that, when I tried to get the larger bag of this formula they were all out of it on this website. So I got a large bag of the German Shepherd formula and we’ll see how that goes, since my dog really likes the wet German Shepherd formula.

I received this product for free from Smiley360 and Every Day Naturals in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own. I have a senior Bichon Frise with the WORST breath. He is missing some teeth and has gum disease just from getting older and it really makes his breath smell pretty terrible.

However – because of the missing teeth issue I’m super hesitant to give him anything that’s difficult to chew or anything that I feel is “too big”. I’m super afraid of him choking as he tends to chew toward the back of his mouth and one wrong move and boom, it slips down his throat and gets lodged there and he’s choking.

I give him small pieces of things like you would give a toddler. I have tried other brands of these dental treats before and thought I was picking the right size when I picked his size which is technically “small”.

But I was still afraid to even give him those as they were in the shape of a small “log” and even cutting it in half I just felt it was still too big. So when I saw this brand had a size for “mini” dogs, even though he’s technically a “small”, I was ecstatic because they are the PERFECT size for him! I even went a step further and cut it in half and I give him one half at a time as they’re difficult for him to chew because they’re so hard (but I know that’s the point).

I actually noticed a huge difference in his breath after giving him his first one. It didn’t smell overly minty or anything; it just smelled BETTER, fresher, and like a normal dog’s breath instead of his regular “knock-you-over-it-stinks-so-bad” breath.

I would absolutely recommend these and in the “mini” size if you have a small dog that’s missing teeth like mine!.

I am amazed by Everyday Naturals 4-in-1 no brush toothpaste. I have two Shelties and one of them has chronic bad breath and the other has breath issues here and there. I received this product for free for the purpose of my review but after bringing these home to try I was sold! It was virtually instant that their breath had improved.

Both of my dogs scarfed these down, like a treat, and were looking for more! They really seemed to enjoy them. While they were available in different sizes, I bought the medium. I think those are perfect for my one dog but will probably buy the large size for my other dog as he seemed to devour it too quickly.

I was skeptical upon purchasing this powder because I had already purchased various products for bad dog breath over the years that did absolutely nothing to remedy the problem. This was my last shot, and if it did not work, then I would not purchase anymore dog breath products again.

After THREE DAYS of using this powder, my mini schnauzer’s horribly foul, rotting corpse smelling breath is non existent, and the condition of her teeth have improved tremendously!! I am completely dumbfounded!!! My dog has had horrible breath and teeth for the past five years that no amount of brushing or breath products could fix.

I couldn’t even cuddle with her anymore because her breath smelled as if something died and rotted in her mouth. If she was sitting on the floor and I was on the couch or the bed and she yawned, it stank up the entire room.

My dogs bad breath was literally gone after the first day of using this. We were amazed. It’s now been 3 weeks and it doesn’t work quite as well. Sometimes it does work, sometimes it mildly works, and then days like today her breath is back to awful.

So it works sometimes. She does love it though, she will eat it willingly, with her food or by itself, lol. So I’d say it’s worth a try but also not saying it’s a miracle worker.

I originally was told about this product in Mexico at the dentist’s office. My gums would bleed some after I brush my teeth. After using Bexident for a couple of days my gums no longer bleed. Plus these products are usually less expensive in Mexico but I found mine here on line for one half the price.

My dogs do the best on this food! My vet is pleased that they are on this food! My friends cousin is a vet and agrees! Yes! Corn and by-products( human grade) are highly nutritious and digestible when done properly! It’s so sad that many pet parents followed the hype and are feeding their dogs foods that are unproven and untested.

All 4 vet nutritionists is a group I belong to all feed their own dogs Royal Canin. My biggest dog has trouble with her urine and peeing a million times a day when she wasn’t on Royal Canin. They don’t promote and try to appeal to humans.

They don’t say Chicken first ingredient! Bc it’s not really when listed. List is by weight and the chicken is 70% water. but people live to see that. Oh and no by-products! Royal Canin hasn’t removed them and doesn’t promote that.

They also didn’t get on the grain free bandwagon either. Probably lost sales bc of it. bc people were brainwashed by dog food advisor and the trendy boutique brands who bashed the big brands. Of course they did this to get more sales not bc it was best for the dogs.

I love this company!.

My doberman loves these and one keeps him entertained for ages. They are excellent for keeping his teeth clean also. I have given to all my Dobermans over the years and all had good clean teeth. Excellent price and service.

These chews have kept my lab’s teeth clean and breath fairly fresh for years, despite my misgivings about the wasteful plastic packaging. They are now smaller and thinner with more in the tub, and she swallows them almost before they make contact with her teeth.

As a consequence her breath now smells pretty rank and plaque build-up is becoming evident. Time to move on to something a little more natural and eco friendly I think.
