18 Best Dental Adhesive For Dentures (2023 Updated)

If I could give this product less than one star and still review it, I would. I have used numerous different adhesive products for dentures over the years, both in just trying to find the right one and also to give myself options.

This product is by far and large the worst I have ever tried. The “mint” they claim tastes as if it nothing but an actual chemical. To describe it best, it tastes like bug spray smells. Now that said, sometimes products just do not taste good, so I get it.

I didn’t like it, but, it is what it is. The real problem is with the hold. Now if you don’t intend to eat or drink anything at all, you might get this stuff to hold for about 4 hours, max, assuming it ever holds at all (most of the time, it does not).

There is no holding power, at all. The product is very gritty, and yes I checked multiple tubes from different locations as well. It would be easy to assume one just got a bad batch, or a one off. No, this product is consistently bad, has some of the worst chemical before and after taste that I have ever tasted, and worse still, it does not hold.

The after taste from the “mint flavor”(and whatever other flavor the actual adhesive normally has) is just as awful. It will leave a weird film in your mouth that does not brush away easy, coat your tongue entirely and leave you tasting this for hours even if you brush or rinse out your mouth.

I would not recommend this product to anyone, not even in a pinch. Many of the generic brands, such as those one would find in dollar stores, hold up better than this AND they do not taste like straight up chemicals.

Ive been using powdered denture adhesive for quite a few years and to date, it seems give the best performance. That does not mean I enjoy the powder though. The powder is messy and if not applied correctly, will cause gum sores.

Every chance I get I will try the adhesive cream in hopes that I have found a winner. Today I think I have found just that. Poligrip Power Max performed much better than I had expected. The label touts a 12 hour hold and that may be true for some but my dentures stayed in place for seven hours.

I’m still very pleased with that. I am overdue for a fitting so that was taken into consideration. With proper fitment I am convinced that this product will live up to its claim. Plus, it has a nice mint flavor.

After using many types, brands & now different version’s of this particular product, Poligrip-power Hold+ Fresh I just may have finally found my new adhesive for my upper plate! This not only has a terrific, nice strong hold for my upper plate that I no longer have any problems of not even so much as a crumb gets under my plate! I’m thrilled & you only need very little too which is an even bigger plus, when it comes to the taking out & clean up process, the less you need the easier the clean up by far and lastly I love the freshness that I get from the added fresh flavor in the adhesive too! So all in all I’m very happy with Poligrip-Power Hold +Fresh & I would highly recommend this product for anyone looking for that extra strong hold with a fresh breath feeling, then thus Poligrip-Power Hold Frssh+ is most definitely for you! I highly recommend for friend or family member in a minute!.

Loving this for cleaning my dentures! They’re so easy to use, drop tablet in & in a short amount of time, you have clean dentures. not just bright but disinfected too. I like watching it bubble, and love how it disintegrates all the little pieces of food or buildup.

As a new denture wearer, I’m trying to use the best products to keep my new smile as beautiful as possible but I also want it to be safe. These are approved by American Dental Association which makes it an easy pick for me.

After all the time and money and past issues with teeth and medications that ruined my teeth so badly, I’m very picky about dental and gum care. Wish I didn’t need anything like this, but if you’re looking to protect that smile, these are a perfect choice!.

Love this stuff for my bottom denture using the double glue method. First a very thin layer of Fixodent Plus using a cotton bud on dry dentures, I then use a damp cotton bud to moisten the fixodent, sprinkle this over, shake off excess powder then repeat the water and powder once again.

Rinse mouth with water, insert lowers and leave to set for 5 or 10 minutes before eating or drinking anything. Lasts from morning until evening. It’s a bit of faffing around, but it’s worth it.

After discovering you need a brillo pad to remove Fixodent, this powder made a HUGE difference. To be honest, it didnt work well to begin with as its impossible to have an even wet surface. However I completely cover the denture with Corsodill gell, then apply the powder.

This worked perfect for me and is so much more comfortable and secure. The only reason this is 4 stars is because if you have soup, coffees or anything else that is liquid based, the powder glue washes off throughout your day.

This means you need to re-glue another once or twice throughout the day. Nevertheless, definitely the best I have found and theres no hammer & chisel required to get Fixodent off the roof of your mouth.

P. S: Its also tasteless, so theres no interference with your taste buds.

This stuff is fantastic! A little goes a long way. I used the cream for a while, and it would take me 15 minutes to clean up every night. With Wernet’s about 3 minutes. I don’t know why this isn’t sold in the U.

S. A. anymore, but it’s well worth the short wait of getting it from the UK. Use a small amount of the “ULTRA” and it lasts all day. I couldn’t be happier with it.

This is the only stuff that works for me. BUT YOU CHANGED IT. And it SUCKS! The real original that came in the pink and light blue box/tube, the one pictured above, is GREAT! It had a medium pink paste and it lasted all day and night.

I would have to pull it off 24 hours later to clean it. But you changed it. Now it’s in a pink and darker blue box and the denture paste itself is really light pink. It does NOT hold. I’m lucky if it stays for a couple hours.

Eating? Doesn’t stay. Comes undone EVERY SINGLE TIME I EAT. I have to clean and reapply about 4 times a day. And it doesn’t give the same cushion feeling. My gums are grinding on my dentures. The actual original one had a bit of cushion.

And almost expanded when you got it wet. I wish washer through after I put it in and it almost expanded a bit and get cushy. This new crap? Just stays as goo, no cushion, no seal, no staying. CHANGE IT BACK!!!!!.

I have been using this product for years (part time)! What I mean by that is that I use a denture paste on both uppers and lowers on a given day, we will call it day one. After the second day, my lower dentures are getting loose.

On day three, I use this Fixodent Extra Hold Denture Adhesive Powder to comfortably hold my lower dentures in place. That night, both upper and lower dentures are generally loose, so I soak them overnight in a denture cleanser.

That brings me back full circle, and I start again at day one with bright, white teeth!! It is a bit “convoluted”, but it works for me.

Hold tops for two days! Can eat steak, corn on cob, spare ribs. great stuff! Wet dentures, powder over entire inside of plate (not just few spots but entire plate) flick off excess powder into trash.

Place in mouth appropriately, hold part over roof of mouth for a minute then tap bottoms to top few times. Thats it!! Nice tight hold on tops!! Mine really last 2 days but NOTHING holds bottoms. at least not in my experience.

Have used this for over 20 years. With my first dental appliance partial plate this was the recommended adhesive by my trusted dentist. I have tried others, but this is the only one that I have found that will actually last 24 hous if needed.

Other brands average 4to 6 hours hold (2 actual meals at best).

As a new denture wearer I tried every product out there. This is a game changer ! No slime, no oozing just a product that works brilliantly. I had a hot dog and was able to bite and chew confidentiality.

Won’t use anything else. As a matter of fact when I had an appointment as I am going through the process, I brought the powder with me ! I received the free dental paste and it was disgusting. The dental tech asked me where I found it (Walmart) and said this is what they gave new patients but they were unable to find it and switched to dental grip.

This stuff is SO messy and it doesn’t work at all for me. You leave your denture a bit wet and you sprinkle/spray the powder all in the top. And then after you’ve made a huge mess you put the piece in place and apply pressure and then hold you mouth closed while you pick all of your supplies up and you open your mouth and it just falls right down.

I’ve tried it a few different ways and no dice. It’s just garbage fodder. Others might have a better experience. If you buy this make sure you go over the directions slowly.

This is the best product ever, sure beats the goo ooze. Just sprinkle on wet denture and dust like a cake pan. Great hold without the mess. Hard to find product, but well worth the search and price.
