The Rubberneck has many great features to offer for an analog delay. Some of the pros include: The regeneration switch- you can achieve crazy oscillating repeats as you hold down the foot switch. Although it would be convenient if there was a limiter/volume control of this feature.

(It can get a little loud. ) The rubberneck button- makes for some wild tape like effects Tap tempo is a godsend. Nice warm tone. The modulation control is very handy. It goes from subtle to really bizarre.

Cons: The sensitivity of the knobs- I find that the feedback knob can only go to about 10 oclock before it gets into self oscillation. I feel like it should be a bit better with the headroom there. Also the volume knob is the same deal, past 9 oclock it gets a bit overtaking of the dry sound.

Otherwise it is a very good and functional pedal. I would definitely recommend.

I REALLY like the sort of left-of-center approach of this pedal, I just found it to be a bit less than user-friendly in a couple ways. Maybe it was just the specific unit I received, but for one thing, the actual rubberneck feature did not adjust its parameters anywhere near as usefully/gradually as I thought, and for another thing, the concentric pots kind of stuck to themselves and would turn together when I didn’t want them to.

Maybe the latter would be set-and-forget knobs for others, but a sort of third strike I would give the pedal is that sounds which work well clean don’t work as well dirty and vice versa, so I found several parameters WOULD need to be tweaked live.

I’m definitely tempted to keep it as a studio tool, but I think I’m just going to return it and keep the gear wheel of life turning. The search continues.

This pedal is so much fun. Well named as the combo of effects makes any small practice amp sound like you’re in a tremendous cavern. I’m just getting started with my pedal collection, so my expertise is minimal, but this pedals was really easy to get the hang of.

The dials are hard to see and operate from standing so don’t expect to be able to tweak without using your hands, stomp switches works great for that to turn the two effects on and off while playing.

Surprised at how good it sounded just in the effect loop of my Marshall JVM. It sounded like it really added a lot of dimension to the tone. When I ran the stereo b output to another amps effect loop in, it was definitely mind blowing.

Also received the rebate from Eventide. Anyone of their plugins for the corresponding pedals. I chose the plugin for micro pitch. Absolutely excellent!!!.

Amazing potential with this unit. Has definitely blown my mind with the cool effects. Wish they had better instructions, instead of video s. Also haven’t quite mastered the tap feature. More videos. Lol.

So many flavors with this thing. Just a faint dialing of just one of the knobs and you find yourself with yet another flavor. Only had it for 2 weeks, but it’s been quite inspiring (as far as a newly dialed in flavor sending me down a writing ‘rabbit hole’ goes).

I’m a fan. and I know that I’ve only scratched the surface with what this pedal can do.

Legacy but legendary. Great for live performance. I have a Line 6 POD HD400 will all DL4 functions inside, however limited capability for live twicking. POD’s looper is basic and useless, DL4’s looper allows reverse and 1/5 speed.

you can get a nux delay force for 50 bux shipped here on ebay that does pretty much everything this does at an off the hook 250. even USED these are overpriced. the stock unit is nothing particularly special.

the fun factor comes with modification, at which point it becomes both useful AND kinda cool. provided you can obtain one cheap enough to be worth modifying. i know this is sacrilege, but for the money a line 6 costs, you can find a plethora of other pedals with the same or better features for significantly less.

these are cool i guess, but not THAT cool for what they ask for them. seriously, the dang nux is a better deal. more models, better sampler with more time etc. do your homework and research. line 6 stuff sounds like line 6.

you’ll love it or hate it. stock, my vote is “meh”. modded so you can access the looper via footswitch, and so you can access both heel down and toe down of the 3 presets and it becomes a bit more palatable.

me? i’d buy something else. seriously. don’t fall for internet hype written by 12 year olds with daddy’s credit card. i’ve been playing electronic guitar for 48 years. i have played almost every piece of gear out there.

this one is good, but not as great as you usually hear.

To be honest I bought this because it’s on Les Claypool’s soundboard. The versatility is mind boggling. It will take years to figure out all the tricks I can do with this pedal. (That’s a good thing).

Built like a rock. Phenomenal pedal.

What strikes me about this pedal is that it sounds great on it’s own. It’s a delay, but it sounds like a reverb, delay, tremelo and modulation pedal all in one. Whenever In play with this at home I end up turning all other pedals off so I can just hear this one.

I HIGHLY recommend watching videos of this pedal to get an idea of what it does and what it sounds like. This is NOT the pedal to get if you’re looking for crisp, ‘pingy’ delays. I wouldn’t recommend this as a delay to add rhythmic repeats to your playing (like The Edge).

I was actually hoping it would sound more ‘pingy’ than it does, but I’ve come to love this pedal for what it is, not what I wanted it to be. It just really sounds awesome. This is a fantastic pedal for slapback delay and to add space to your sound.

This is a great pedal for clean or slightly overdriven guitar for alt-country, jazz or blues. The self oscillation sounds really really good. It’s easy to set it to a quiet, throbbing self-oscillation that fills in space and almost acts as a tremelo.

I prefer to use this before any overdrive or distortion. I like the way it sounds into my Boss Super Overdrive. The boosted mids make it sound spookier. This would be a fantastic pedal to use with 2 amps, 1 wet and 1 clean.

Great sounding delay pedal. Dark, murky, swirly repeats stack up into a thick ambient wash lurking just underneath the oscillating feedback threshold. Replicates sounds from vintage oil can delays and does it very well with excellent control parameters.

I viewed Catlinbread’s promo of this Adineko Oil Can Delay on You Tube, which featured a guy in a hardware store(great bit), describing the original effect from the past. I got it today, plugged in a detuned Tele, and followed the suggested settings which produced a dark motion sound.

It is going to be an effect that will have to be thought out in it’s use in my music. I recommend viewing that You Tube spot and decide if this delay is for you. I might add that the folks at Catlinbread seem like a good bunch of audio geeks that will keep producing effects for us in the future.

I’ve had quite a few emulations of the Space Echo pass through my hands, including several prior Roland / Boss versions, and I’ve been lucky enough to play the original, although I’ve never owned one.

I think Boss has got closest yet with this version. Other than where they have deliberately pushed the edges of the envelope (4th head option, effects options, longer delay time) this behaves like a space echo and being able to dial in the degree of saturation and wow and flutter is a very nice touch.

It also looks amazing, and the retro CE-1-style casing is just a really nice piece of material – it feels great in the hands and has just the right degree of weight to it. It even comes with a PSU in case you need one.

Nothing not to like here – sure it’s a bit expensive, but so are the alternatives, and Boss has nailed this one. That makes it good value in my book. I won’t be getting the 201 pocket pedal version, but that’s pretty intriguing too!.

I tried this pedal out, but it does not sound very well with my current solid-state setup. Would probably sound best paired with a vintage tube amp. The variations in the types of delays are also quite subtle and take a trained ear to hear it.

Shoegazers paradise! I am going to return this pedal, as it is not the delay sound that I am used to, and its not something that sounds too pleasant to my ears. The pedal is touch responsive too, which can be a good or bad thing depending on how you play.

For my play style, it’s a negative effect to my sound. I would recommend this pedal though, Its a different style of delay that some might like.

As with all multi effects pedals, some of the effects are very good, some are fair. Mostly there pretty decent for the price and small platform design. My only issue with it, that I was surprised hadnt already been addressed, is that it only has the ability to create one chain of multiple effect patches.

For example, if you need a 3 effect patch for the verse, but maybe only a 1 effect patch for the chorus, and maybe an empty patch (that would be an effect bypass) for the solo, you would create a patch chain and just scroll through the individual patches to get what you need.

But then youre done, youve used up the only patch chain. I probably have at least 8 songs a gig that requires this ability, but it only allows for 1 patch chain. Over all its a decent pedal, but this upgrade would make it much more usable.

Bought primarily to provide compact but complex reverb sounds for use live with acoustic guitar. Does the job just fine and at a pretty economical price. A little small to programme but you can find a free independent third party software that works well.

Once programmed, the footswitch enables you to scroll through in order of your pre-selections.

The product is very well made and will last the rigours of gigging. The sound is an authentic old analogue echo and reverb. It’s a quiet pedal with no spurious sounds. Highly recommended.

This analog echo box is amazing. It’s echo is warm and musical and so un-like the sterile digital delays of the 80’s and 90’s. It sounds awesome with my big Gretsch guitar. It truly sounds like the tape echo I had back when I was young.

Any combination of settings makes good sounds, slap-back, standard echo, strange Pink Floyd sounds and of course, sound-on-sound feedback. The volume level stays the same engaged or disengaged. If I had paid $100 I’d be happy.

Having paid about $27 makes me enjoy it all the more. Buy it, you will not regret this purchase.

The pedal seems to be built well. Battery compartment access could be better designed. Unit seems to go into echo runaway in some settings and you have to turn it off or it reaches a terrible crescendo.

Not sure if that is a failure of design or learning intensity adjustments. Intensity seems to have too much potentiometer travel for the circuit design as you can’t use it much above half way. Repeat and Echo settings seem to be of better design.

They work in all positions. I purchased this to use with an Electric Mandolin. It seams to augment performance and for the price it was a good choice. As I learn more perhaps a different pedal would be better for this application.

Bought this as a gift for an 18 year old. It was his first pedal and he was excited to have it and really enjoyed experimenting with it. However, as a seasoned guitar player with plenty of pedals l was disappointed and wish l would have put the 39 bucks toward a better unit.

First, there is no battery compartment so the 9v battery just dangles off the side with the little 4 inch battery connector provided. We taped it to the side but this is EXTREMELY LAME!!! Battery consumption for any pedal is harsh so remember to unplug it after use.

I suppose a 9v adapter could be used but you would have to buy one. The features that the 3 dials provide are very basic, but get the job done. It’s only 600ms delay so it doesn’t have advanced features you would find in more expensive models , but again you get what you pay for.

Great for a starter pedal, but a serious player will outgrow it, hence , my reccomend ation 2 spend a little more for a more advanced unit.

This thing sounds great. Considering how cheap it was to purchase. Not too noisy but there is a little there. It could just be my outlets though. The only flaw is that there is no battery compartment.

You need to use an external power supply, or the 9-volt battery adapter they send with it.

It adds tone and warmth with quality delay effects when this pedal is engaged. I really like the Time Space including it’s appearance. It also has responsive and accurate knobs and feels sturdy like pedals that cost two to three times as much.

The price will have you not expecting much but what you are getting is a solid quality pedal with beautiful spacey delay and could just end up on your pedalboard. It did mine.

So much for so little money. Just three pods and yet so many varieties of delay. All I wanted was delay and that’s what I got. Seems to be a sturdy little unit and you don’t even know it’s there when you switch it off and play through it.

Pure junk. No effects at all. No matter how you set it,…..ithe will not change the tone or effecys.

I was slow to learn about compressors. But once I tried one, I was hooked. A compressor normalizes the amplitude of every note. It can amplify every sound to the same volume so as a note fades after the attack, the compressor amplifies the decaying signal.

The result can be various degrees of limitation or expanded sustain. It can also give your gain a sweet boost. I like a compressor with a lot of sustain ability. One that can make the long notes ring like freedom in clean, crunch or overdrive.

I’ve owned and experimented with many. Some of my favorites have been discontinued models from the eighties, like the DOD fx80B and the Ibanez CP9. Unfortunately, the great sustainers are often very noisy.

This Wampler pedal sounds great! Plenty of sustain, as well as other tone shaping features. The sustain knob will not affect the attack volume. It’s very user friendly and it’s American made.

Although this pedal has its quirks, this thing does work. It basically seems to take that super warm, analog delay tone, and combine it with some really unique effects and features. I wouldn’t say that this pedal has a “learning curve,” but rather that it just has some exstensive features.

To access the two secondary features (chase mode and trails mode)it takes too long to hold down the buttons. Once you get to the features they work awesome though, but they aren’t extremely practical in an intense live setting, moreso for tinkering around with in the studio.

As far as the construction and hardware, this thing is a beast. It sounds awesome, and the best part about it is that its range of effects don’t only make this pedal super versatile, but it makes it the most unique analog delay with a tap tempo on the market.

If you are thinking about this. Get it.

This is a little more complicated to learn than the competition, or the earlier simpler model, but you sure can get some alien life out of this box. This was designed for the sound and tone master’s.

You get this baby sorted out and will have endless creativity, especially after you put it at the end of your OD/DS effects chain. Man I play with this for hours, sometimes forget the time! Better than its competition, so just pay for it, or go lower.

If you don’t have the change, save for it! I ordered it pre-release drooling.

After reading the reviews I thought I was getting a decent multi pedal. It was extremely noisy, so noisy I was told I couldn’t record with it. The tuner is not trustworthy gets you close. And it loudly pops everytime I try to use the mute/tuner feature.

No adjustable features with chorus or compression. I thought I would just use the sansamp but even the sansamp didn’t enhance my amp sound. It sounds cleaner and more quiet running direct out of my amp.

I dislike it so much I don’t think I would even resell it. I wouldn’t want someone to spend money on it. Very disappointed after all the positive reviews.

Really awesome to use in front of a bass amp or through the FX Loop Return or even direct to a PA or recording interface. LOVE the compression, boost option, the extra effects (especially chorus) and it’s own built in tuner! Truly amazing for touring, especially fly-in gigs as it can fit in your gig bag or hard shell bass case, and even INCLUDES, not only the power adapter, but all the foreign converter components! Like SIX PEDALS in one, plus all the connectors, for the price of just one!.

This has the beginnings of being a great tool for bassists, but it just misses. The Sansamp section is pretty much what you anticipate. The compressor is decent and the built in tuner is a plus. It’s the modulation and fuzz effects that leave you cold.

The octave is barely usable. The chorus doesn’t have much adjustment. The fuzz is just awful. All in all it is worth the money for me a traveling bassist. It does not replace your high pedal board and the crime is that is should.

I was looking for my first dedicated delay pedal, and after a good deal of research, ended up going with the Canyon. It’s a fun pedal that can handle pretty much anything you need delay wise in a pretty easy to use interface.

The digital with or without modulation, multi-tap, warm analog, tape, and delay with reverb settings are all very useful right out of the box to cover the basics. Tap tempo with the built in switch (or an external) and quarter, eighth, and dotted eighth notes.

Then add in the other less-common stuff like reverse, delay with octave, and shimmer, which also are very usable out of the box, not just toys. Pretty solid tracking. The shimmer is pretty amazing. Additionally you can dig into the secondary settings and tweak lots of things, including the modulation on the Deluxe Memory Man emulation mode.

I haven’t really used the looper much more than just to understand it, I have a dedicated Ammoon looper. I use the Canyon delay so much that I don’t want to use it for a looper. They use almost the exact same footswitch controls, which is to say ok, but you will have to reference the manual a bit at first.

It would be really nice if in looper mode and external tap tempo switch could be used for some of the looper functions. The price is great for this type of thing. I think it’s one of the easiest to understand multi-delay pedals on the market out of the box.

The downsides are reasonable for the size and price: no stereo, can’t use a battery, due to being a compact pedal that can only fit 4 knobs, you don’t have access to a lot of settings without going to the manual and using secondary mode.

It’s awesome you at least have access to those settings. This isn’t going to be your one and only delay pedal if you need real analog, or need to be able to tweak everything, or (obviously) need to layer delay.

But as either an all around primary for someone that doesn’t live off of delay, or as a utility/secondary for someone that does, it’s killer.

At first, I was just trying to find a deal on a decent delay that could give me a U2 or EVH style delay with heavy repeats. I previously owned a Boss DD7 (sold it prior to this purchase) and regretted getting rid of that signature delay style I knew and loved.

So I went looking for a deal on pedals, I happened to stumble upon this one for cheap (even tho it was brand new). Despite the backlash this pedal has received from Grand Canyon fans, I admire this pedal.

In fact, I’d say it’s one of the best pedals I have. Its versatile in its own right and VERY clear sounding in comparison to the Boss DD7 I once had. But what really struck me was how customizable the settings are.

To be able to make presets on different voicings and time settings then be able to come back to them at a moment’s notice is a plus. Speaking of settings, I will confess I don’t use the looper BUT that’s simply because I don’t need a looper (soon I’ll be purchasing a boss RC 505).

It’s one of the reasons I chose this over the Grand Canyon (that and I don’t have anything to run in stereo). So to whoever wants a fun delay to experiment around with that’s also compact in size: just get it already.

This is a fantastic pedal. I bought it just for the loop feature because it has pitch-speed. Manual says it goes from half speed to double but in my language it simply means the pitch range goes from -50% to +50%.

Everything else is crazy delightful. Delays are strong and many settings to choose from. You can even record a loop with the delay on it or apply after. Really creates some far out stuff with this pedal when you combine the delays with the loop reverse, can be a powerful tool for those that dabble in the ambient scene with its droning and zoning out capabilities.

Like I said, the looper is what attracted me with its pitch-speed knob. How old school loopers were made back in the day. I enjoy roaming around the sound spectrum of my own playing and invent something new I couldn’t before without the feature.

Awesome pedal indeed. Is it worth the $275? Not really, unless it had a loop edit feature, then price is justifiable. But is expensive for a delay/loop pedal. However, there is no other pedal like this, unless its a form of two seperate pedals.

So you can’t go wrong with this.

OH MY! this thing is packed with features, it became a bit overwhelming and confusing for me. Break out a notepad and take notes while you dial in your sound. I followed the instructions but still found myself lost deep in the Grand canyon, stayed up until the sun came up noodling around with all it’s sounds.

jury is still out on this one, the build quality is great, the features are plenty and I am happy with the purchase, I just need to find my way around :-).

A well designed Time Domain Delay and Looper in one pedal. Has 12 presets you can modify, Tap Division timing for repeats (Quarter, Eighth, and Sixteenth notes, plus triplets and dotted for each), Left and Right outputs, Can use a footswitch (various functions) and expression pedals.

Very inspiring for ambient things, Looper can be recorded with/without effects, cool handling of Stereo Ping Ponging and tails, Can reverse the action of the bypass switch so it acts like a momentary on.

Very cool. Plan on spending a fair amount of time experimenting with settings, a small amount of adjustment can make a huge change. Easy to save presets, but this thing can be a Time Vampire. Worth the time to learn to use.

Use it for song ideas, making the Looper a natural fit for this pedal. Well designed, feature packed, and inexpensive. Big thumbs up to EH for a cool idea inspiring Delay + Looper.
