Best Deer Hunting Video Ever (2024 Updated)

This is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Towards the beginning of the film, at least 45 minutes are spent on ONE scene – it’s a wedding followed by a wedding reception – where NOTHING happens.

The plot is not furthered or anything; you just see a wedding ceremony followed by a reception where you see people dancing and drinking – that’s it! For 45 minutes! By the time that scene is over, you don’t even wanna watch the rest of the movie.

Good, Sad, can’t stop watching. Glued to the movie. To sad that you don’t want to watch but you keep watching. So real. To Real.

This movie is sad and hard to take, but pretty much true to the Era, Vietnam war, the people, and the area in which it was taking place in (PA.), in thought years. Love the actors and the sentiment.

I’ve always loved this movie, since it first came out, back in the day. Excellent cast. Has a little of everything in it. From Drama, Romance, and action. I’m a big fan of Robert DeNiro, Christopher Walken, and Meryl Streep.

And not to mention, this movie won a 5 academy award in 1978. So, I would highly recommend it!.

The Deer Hunter is a misnomer for this film because the deer hunting was not the crux of this movie. Other characters aside from DeNiro had just as much to offer. I’m not sure why the reviews I read are centered around the miitary.

that was the plot. The subplot is more interesting. Being a woman I could related to Streep’s character of losing her boyfriend first to the war then because of his PTSD. So what. he should’ve seen a shrink.

My family’s roots on my mother’s side are from the Ohio Valley so this movie was like a slice of local life for the characters who were friends in the movie. Not sure why many of the reviews I’ve read are based on the War backdrop of this movie.

It’s more interesting to see how the friends coped after everyone came home with one exception. So I loved the movie for the nostalgia. I can remember from my hometown when neighbor’s sons returned from Vietnam.

We all moved on from then. I think Streep’s character, as the abused daughter, could’ve been expounded upon further. What’s with all the staring scenes from DeNiro? Also. a voice coach should’ve been used for this epic movie.

Having traveled to that part of the country every year since I was a child I know the tonations of the Ohio Valley accent. I didn’t hear any of that in the movie. Great film though.

I had purchased this DVD for my mom in order to replace a VHS copy. The Deer Hunter is one of the longer movies out there, with a running time of three hours. The movie is one part look at life, one part showing the hell that is war and what it means to live after after the war, in this case Vietnam, is over.

It’s cast is a list of who’s who in Hollywood, including Robert DeNiro, Meryl Streep, George Dzunda and Christopher Walken. The movie has been criticized as “anti-war” since it shows only the worst elements of post war life.

However, I think an intelligent observer could look past that to the deeper meanings. Consider the relationships in this movie. You have a group of friends working their jobs at a steel mill, then heading out for an after work beer enjoying each other’s company.

Later, they go to a wedding and we see a scene not unlike most wedding, celebration, people getting drunk and parting. The group of friends heads into the mountains to shoot deer and have a conversation about what it really means to shoot an animal.

It’s quite analytical and makes you think. From there, you’re literally dropped into the Vietnam conflict, with these same friends serving as soldiers. There’s a particularly emotional scene when, having been captured, the men are forced to play Russian roulette by their captors.

They do manage to escape, but all three men are forever changed by what they went through. One is forever crippled, one returns home to be with the girl he always cared about and the third stays in Vietnam, playing Russian roulette as a way to make money.

I guess you could argue that Deer Hunter is ultimately a sad film, for the innocence these men lose or a happy movie for the ones who return home. I see it more as a comment on the human condition, the byplay of how life and people can dramatically change to someone we might not even recognize.

If you can, see it.

I recently watched this program on PBS and was mesmerized. It is absolutely fabulous. I have been to Utah several tmes and love the mule deer. This adventure by Joe Hutto is proof that our animal friends have intelligence and empathy along with their own brand of curiosity and trust.

I would highly recommend this to all nature lovers! It is well written, well produced and the photography is outstanding. We should all take a lesson from this film and protect all of our animal species-especially the Mule Deer.

Absolutely spectacular. I enjoyed Joe Hutto’s story of the years he has spent with these Mule Deer. I photograph Muley’s here in Colorado. Joe is right on the mark when he says these animals are “off the radar” with respect to our ignorance of their daily survival perils.

From chronic wasting disease to natural predation, I have noticed a decline in these deer’s numbers. Perhaps we need a “Mule Deer Memorial” group to help broadcast the dwindling numbers of these Deer.

This is such a wonderful video for anyone who is a wildlife lover. Very touching and wonderfully done. My aunt watched this video too and said that she will never go hunting again. I bought an extra video for my mother and father now living in a cabin in the woods and shows this video to all who visits.

You won’t be disappointed, very touching and the filming is beautiful as well.

I’ve had 4. 0 , 5. 0 and now the 6. 0 I just picked up and I can tell you each camera improves tremendously. For example stability of the 6. 0 is amazing. Night and day from the 5. 0 and it was good.

I took the 6. 0 out and hand recorded it without a mount and you couldn’t tell that it wasn’t fixed to a platform, A new featured I really like is the touch school that makes it easy to navigate the device.

So many changes and they just keep getting better I can’t say enough about these camera and the quality picture and videos with 4K and 8X zoom right in your hand.

I bought this camera two weeks ago and immediately discovered a glitch with the functionality. Users cannot use the zoom slide bar in the mobile app while filming or the camera will freeze and require the battery to be removed.

I’ve been using Tactacam’s 4.0 for a few years and decided to upgrade to the 6.0. It is a huge improvement from the 4.0! The image stabilization is 20 times better. Definitely a great camera!!

Dear Hunting with Jesus is destined to be a classic on working class culture – a book about white, southern, working class folks trapped in low wage jobs and cultural mediocrity with little prospect of social mobility.

Joe Bageant, a renegade liberal with real redneck credentials, moves back to his home town of Winchester, Virginia, and reports what he sees as he takes a sobering and somber look at the lives and attitudes of the working class kindred he left behind decades prior.

These are Southern redneck people, not white trash. There is a difference. He finds them in a desperate straight, hovelling and hoovering in a socially-conditioned and counter-productive state-of-mind, inculcated by what he calls an American hologram that is fashioned by local and national elites.

Bageants analysis is street-wise, witty, gritty, and searing. The book addresses the same subject (working class alienation) as Thomas Franks Whats the Matter With Kansas?, but is told from the trenches through the eyes of a person with working class roots, unlike Franks more academic and upper-middle class approach.

These people live poor, stay dumb, and vote rich (Republican) year-after-year, almost mindlessly. They have virtually no savings and have taken out second mortgages to pay for credit card debt or medical bills.

A small cartel of Southern families, mostly descendants of slave-owning, plantation owners, still rule southern societies and conspire to keep a placid surplus of working boobs by under-funding education and through other means of class warfare tactics such as keeping wages low and unions out.

The working folks of Winchester all seem to fit the same mold: white, lower-working class, Southern, high-school education, fundamentalist Christians. The words Democrat or Liberal are dirty words. Many spend eight hours a day listening to right-wing talk radio.

They dont read books, except maybe trashy novels or right-wing conspiracy. They shop at Walmart. Many live in house trailers. Millions are under the spell of a dangerous mass psychosis reinforced by the American hologram provided by corporate and political elites.

Bageant believes the working class of Winchester and the South in general, are angry and swallowing in anxiety at, not so much the symbols, ideas, and scapegoats the Republicans have propagated in sound bites, slogans, and cultural wedge issues.

The source of their anger is more fundamental. Its the daily insults they suffer from employers, government, and more educated fellow Americans such as lawyer, doctors, journalists, academicians, and otherswho quietly disdain working folks.

According to Bageant, the hard right-wing putsch has been successful among working people due to widespread misconception about what is going wrong with America. The New Conservatism arose due to unacknowledged dissatisfaction with the erosion of traditional life and values in America as working people perceived them.

People were disenfranchised by bureaucracy, technocracy, and experts. Rightists tapped into that dissatisfaction by lamenting the loss of community and values and attributed it to big government and the cultural lefts feminism, anti-racism, the gay movement, etc.

Right wing politicians have appealed to their religious prejudices and ignorance. Cultural issues overshadow even economic bread and butter issues. In an obsessively religious nation, values remain the most effective smoke screen for larceny by the rich and hatred and fear by the rest.

What Christians and so many quiet, ordinary Americans voted for in the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections was fear of human beings culturally unlike themselves. This is pretty much the same theme and message that Frank delineated in his Whats the Matter with Kansas.

(Page 81, 82) Put your mind around this: The people doing our hardest work and fighting our wars are not altruistic. They dont give a rats bunghole about the worlds poor or the planet or animals or anything else.

The people like cheap gas. They like chasing post-Thanksgiving Day Christmas sales. And if fascism comes, they will like that too if the cost of gas isnt too high and Comcast comes through with a twenty-four-hour NFL channel.

For the people, it is football and NASCAR and a republic free from married queers and trigger locks on guns. (Page 91) Bageant initiates his case by taking a snipe at local, small town, chambers-of-commerce-styled governments like Winchester and describes well the old-money families who run the show.

Despite globalism, owners of small and medium-size businesses run much of the heartland. Many of those picturesque towns you whip by on the interstate are small feudal systems run by local networks of moneyed families, bankers, developers, lawyers, and merchants.

It is in the interest of these well-heeled conservative provincials to maintain a feudal state with low taxes, few or no local regulations, no unions, a cheap schools system and a chamber of comm.

A thirteen year old classic about how the Left has allowed the Right to screw us. A excellent read for anyone who wants to understand the mess we are in.

Have only read sections of this, for a book club. It was written in 2007, not new ideas. Would make other choices before this.

Some of the graphics are bad (wild turkey looks like a wind up toy etc) and in 3rd person view with the hunter crawling, he’s waving his gun and twisting like a fish out of water. So far I’ve found the game unconvincing and a bit boring.

I like the idea of stealth and patience but so far its been too easy to locate and shoot the prey. Big maps, scenery is pretty good but when compared to other games graphics (CoD for instance) this game lags behind.

One for hunting enthusiasts I think but they’d be better off getting togged up and going out for real.

Bought this game from the Eshop and I love it. I wish they would add more guns like 22’s and other thing last and maybe some more animals like squirrels and other small game but other than that the game is the best hunting game ever.

The game demo had great graphics the game itself didn’t. I am no hunter so I had no idea what the proper thing to do was and every time I moved it said I was scaring away all the animals. Tried over and over again in different incredibly long ways to adjust playing it and it never got better.

Traded it in 2 days after buying it. Almost got what I paid for it, thank goodness.

I chose this camera based on the fact that at the time I was researching, this one had 100% 5 star ratings. Originally I had selected another brand that was almost twice the price, but the strong positive reviews changed my mind.

After using it for a little while now, I have to agree with what others have said. It is a well made, compact trail camera with a simple user interface that takes excellent daytime and nighttime photos and videos.

The nighttime photos and videos are black.

Ordered it on a Friday got it on the following Wednesday, was very happy with the condition of the game, and was quite impressed by the shipping time. Will definitely continue to order games from dkoldies.

I have played all of the other conflict game series but this one. Gave the first mission a try and looks like itll be fun. Game came in great shape.

the graphics are good and the game ppaly is good but you are restricted to small areas.

Such a fun game. I never expected it to be this entertaining. Fun game for the whole family to play together. The new maps are still coming along nicely. The updates are rolling in and making the game play much more fluent.

I was looking for a first person shooter game and the reviews were good. I play the game a lot, have the beginner level mastered, but the normal level still has me beat. I’m about 2/3 of the way through it and it’s hard as heck, but I still play for hours in both modes.

I don’t think I’ll get sick of it for a while. I liked it so much, I bought it for my brother. If you like hunting, you’ll like this game. Helpful hint, the small animals are worth big points and only take one shot to kill.

My wife brought it as a gift. I wish she would have brought a fishing game. I hate the fact that the game comes with a rifle and the rifle isn’t needed. When the wii remote and nunchuck is in place, the trigger area of the gun is used to reload your gun and you have to shoot using the B button which is located at the from of the gun.

I really dislike this game. The graphics suck, and the overall game play was not good.

My kids and I love the game but we dislike the gun, it is the opposite of how a gun is to be shot. the trigger is on the barrel and where the trigger is supposed to be is the reload of your amunition, other then that it’s a very cool game.

my daughter is only 4 and this game is great for hand, eye cordination skills, and she beats me!!! We are hunters so this also gives us shooting practice. I would recommend this game.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis game won’t blow anyone’s mind. The graphics are pretty so-so, the gameplay is slow, the scoring system is faulty at best. That said, this is still one of my most-played games of the year.

For what it is (an on the go hunting game) it is a lot of fun. It is far and away the best hunting game thus far on Switch. It has internal achievements to keep you playing, if you are the type of person who likes goals, but it is also free form enough to allow a person to just get in and play as they want.

Personally, I would not play this on a switch lite because of the attached controller. I have killed joycon sticks with sprint (left stick clicks) on other games before, so I keep this reserved to my system where I can replace Joycons.

This game has a lot working against it, but it also has a lot going for it including my favorite weapon system in a hunting game (choose the weapon, then choose the caliber from a range available in that weapon), tons of replayability, and a good hunting experience.

It works well on the switch as the ability to pick it up and put it down helps extend hunts and make them more successful. If you are looking for a hunting game on switch, get this. It’s slow, and has some issues, but it is well worth the monetary and time investment.

I played this game about 10 times and never was able to find a track or call in an animal. Some people might like it because it’s very realistic when it comes to walking in the woods all day but not me.

I like video games to be somewhat unrealistic and ones likes this to be family friendly.

It made play better and although there are still periods of time when you have to explore quite a bit I found myself actually enjoying the scenery and the hike while finding an animal to hunt.

I think our will enjoy this game if you like hunting.

Seemed like a great deal, cool controllers etc, but the game mechanics are really wonky and it leads to a MASSIVE learning curve in the beginning. So massive people usually just pass up on it after seeing it played by others.

There’s a heart rate sensor which I assumed was a gimmick but you actually have to lower your heart rate for some points which was pretty annoying. We taped the sensors to the tv, and it is pretty hard to play unless youre a good 15 feet from your tv so my couch distance didnt make it an optimal experience.

If nothing else you can mount the controllers on the wall of your man cave like I have and feel like you got something out of it. I voted good because of that reason but the game is not worth it. Trust.

I’ve enjoyed many Cabela’s games in the past, but with so many annual releases today, they just get worse and worse. I used to stomach the fast paced, force fed shooting scenes, just to get to the long, stalking hunts I’d come to enjoy.

It turns out Cabela’s 2013 Dangerous Hunts is 100% of what I didn’t like in previous games. I’d much rather explore well designed, elaborate boards, stalking one trophy; but now we get nothing but repetitive, pathetically designed boards filled with gratuitous, schizophrenic bloodshed.

If I thought I’d be killing packs of 40 lions in story mode I would have never purchased this slop fest. I feel so cheated, I will never buy a new Cabela’s game again. I’ll just play one of the older, better versions every couple of years.

I think I’m done buying new games in general. I thought I could trust Cabela’s to be consistent, but Activision clearly just wants to produce larger profit margins instead of quality gaming. While I’m thinking of it, the new gun is junk too.

I’m tired of bruising myself with that thing.

The Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts includes the Wii game and the plastic gun that holds the Wii controller and numchuck to control aim and shooting at targets. There are gallery and hunt shooting options and I found the gallery easier to practice and use even for young children.

A fun game for one or more players!.

After playing countless FPS games I decided to try out a hunting game for a change even though I was apprehensive of the idea. Nevertheless, I was happily proved right in my decision to buy this game.

Never had I played a hunting game before so this was something new. The game itself is linear in some aspects as you have a map to stick to but on some occasions you can use the environments fully – climbing onto higher ledges for a greater shooting position along with the surrounding flora.

The variety of environments and animals is fantastic ranging from Finland, USA to the savannah’s of Africa. Many big game are here such as Water Buffalo, Bighorn Sheep, a Bear, various birds such as Egyptian Geese and Ptarmigans.

Unlike Cabela’s Outdoor Adventures, this game lacks the fishing aspect of it but then again, it is a hunting game so I don’t see the point. Trophies are great and not hard to achieve either but acquiring all Gold medals on hunts may prove a challenge for some.

I recommend this game to any FPS players, hunting enthusiasts or a gamer who is interests but isn’t sure on the purchase. I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed the fun experience. 9/10.

Ordered this game for my 7 year old grandson. He will be receiving it on April 5th. I put the game into my Xbox system to make sure it was working properly. 2 hours later, I decided that it was more than satisfactory !! OUTSTANDING graphics and LOADS of fun with this game.

Cabela’s and Activision REALLY give you your money’s worth in this version of Big Game Hunter. This one comes highly recommended and I am glad to give it a 5 star excellent rating !!! GET THIS ONE FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY !!!.

We purchased this in 2015. We love it. It is superior to other cabela’s games that are older. You can do quick hunts, and it is easy to play with others by alternating hunts/ or attempts at hunting. A few areas are unrealistic as far as not spooking the animal when you are close and in plain sight, but overall, you are rewarded for being stealthy and working around behind various rocks and shrubs.

I really wanted to like this camera, as I have other Moultrie cameras that work well but cost a lot more than this one. However, after using this camera for a month (which means it’s outside of Amazon’s return window, unfortunately), I have to say that I am extremely disappointed.

The camera eats batteries like crazy, no matter what settings I try, and even with fairly low volume. even at 10-20 photos per day, this camera goes through 16 AA batteries in less than a week. It’s crazy.

The camera is also very unstable. It uploads photos only about 1/2 of the time; I know this from intentionally triggering the camera a LOT of times: the camera triggers and indicates that it’s uploading, but the pictures never show up on the app.

Since there’s no SD card to check later, you have no idea what shots you are missing. On top of that, the camera goes “offline” randomly, sometimes within a few hours of setting it up, sometimes a few days later but, in any event, you have to go to the camera and physically cycle the power switch to get it back online.

a MAJOR pain for remote cameras. And, again, since there is no SD card, any photo opportunities during that time period are lost (and you have no way of knowing what you missed). Sadly, I cannot recommend this camera, and regret wasting my money on it.

I got two as some as I was notified they were available. Each advancement the units are described as having to this point in time have been everything they said they would. I haven’t had my units long enough to determine the extent of the battery life but I’m going to have to believe it will be excellent.

Before I say anything further I want to brag on two things that were immediately evident that they were above all the ones I have had before. First, the pictures and videos are crystal clear both day or night which brings me to two.

The night pictures and videos are WOW! The whole world is lit up, no shadows, no hiding in the perimeter, just trip the trigger and smile. I never had issues with using an SD Card but I like the principal of not having to occasionally format my unit.

One last thing, we live very remote. Our cameras, and we have many, are used for “game” but also for protection/notification. Moultrie has always, since our first cellular unit, had excellent products for getting pictures to us immediately.

If you come on the property we receive your picture, make & model, and tag before you get to our first curve. I love that! If we are away from home, and someone enters our property I can access the situation and if necessary reach help before they get up to the house.

It is a great comfort.

Purchased this camera new after looking at many different options on the market and had high hopes. Wanted to have a accurate and long lasting camera to capture some of the wildlife at the ranch. Loaded this bad boy with 16 batteries thinking that should last me for a while instead of just going with the 8 as a minimum.

16 double a batteries lasted me 8 days total which is going to be a incredibly expensive cam to operate down the road. Loaded another 16 Duracell batteries for the percentage to drop 10 percent over night with no pictures, which from the looks I have 9 days left on batteries at max.

More times than I can count I have watched deer sit in front of the game camera 10 foot away and no pictures were taken, thought maybe it was a fluke and checked the settings of the camera and read every instruction manual.

Next day I got pictures of activity and new it was working. Went back out later that day and once again 15 deer within range for 30 min and not one picture. This continues as this camera is costly and not reliable.

Signal strength is great. Batteries are working, just not the camera. I will be taking this camera down……….

One of the best hunting games out there. I highly recommend playing. It is thrilling and fun to compete against your friends.

Found the game on sale online shopping and it was delivered very fast. Game play is fun and i enjoy playinv it with my wife also .

My favorite of all the Cabela games. You get deep in the woods with this game and experience really magnificent hunts.
