If you are a die-hard player this set is not for you, but if you just enjoy playing pokemon and have a child that is just getting into playing this set is great. The strategies are easy to play for any beginner and the decks can easily be upgraded with other cards.

My son and I buy theme decks and just enjoy playing them and then adding to them later.

Really disappointed with this pack. Especially considering the high price tag. Yes you get the Mewtwo and melmetal cards but the rest is just dud. In the Mewtwo side we got 16 of the same energy card! Then Barry trainer card 5 times.

And then lots of duplicates with Pokémon too. Really disappointing and my son was gutted.

While long time fans won’t find anything new here, new players like me are sure to love this quick way to catch up on a lot of great old cards pre formed into an extremely functional deck.

Love the opportunity to play with more powerful cards than in just the base set. A great starting point.

I did not want to spend too much on these as I ordered these for my teen & they lose interest in a lot of things so quickly. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice these were. The cards are exquisite, of good card stock – and I would expect to pay this much or more for just the cards, never mind the included book, and satin cloth; and the box to hold all of them is very sturdy for cardboard.

The only negative is that the book is more about the history of the cards rather than the meanings behind each one. A great value for the money, but for serious beginning readers, I would get another reference book to go with this set.

Cards are pretty flimsy, print quality not so great, I think this newer deck isn’t as high quality as the earlier versions. Probably nice if it’s your first Tarot deck though. The book that comes with the deck is fabulous and a fantastic read/reference for those new to Tarot.

Cheap paper. No numbers or suits printed on the cards, fuzzy pictures. Really, really cheaply made. Would not recommend to anyone.

Im in love with this deck. Im glad I ran into this deck. Usually I get a few more details in and research before purchasing a deck online. Not with this deck. I give it a 5 star+ recommendation. The images are so beautiful, the messages of each individual card comes alive.

Im a professional reader and Ive started immediately giving out readings with it. It stays true the original RWD but has so much more love within the pictures. The booklet that comes with it is just as lovely and informative.

It comes in 5 different languages and is just perfect as the deck. This deck is perfect for just someone who started with tarot as it is for advanced readers. the pictures cant do its justice, youll have to see it in front of you.

After viewing the walk through reviews on You Tube, I was excited about ordering this deck. To my utter disappointment this deck is HORRIBLE! First of all the actual colors are faded and washed out. Many of the character facial features are faded, and many of the cards (such as Cups and Coins) have incomplete gold inlays — many the cards look damaged and cheap.

The standard RW tarot color and imagery is far superior and easier to read than this deck. Although a few of the cards are lovely, this deck is basically a very failed “BLING” deck, and very poorly done.

I suggest that you not waste your money.

This is a beautiful deck except for one thing. The gold foil on the Pentacles appears to be flaking off, especially the Ace of Pentacles. I had read this complaint elsewhere, so I wasn’t surprised. Nevertheless, I was still disappointed.

The lack of foil is consistent on all the Pentacle cards so it may be a poor design issue. All the other cards are spectacular, so I will keep and enjoy my deck. It’s a deck worth collecting.

It’s a deck of cards that meets the bare-minimum of quality standards. Technically it is what I’ve ordered, but you can see that the manufacturer spared every possible expense. The cheap, flimsy cards stick together, even brand new out of the packaging.

There are no instructions for the cards; you either know what to do or you have to Google it. I could potentially make it work, but the experience would be anything but enjoyable. I’ve already shipped this game to its next destination: Rumpke dump.

Honestly these are really cool, artwork is nice and they’re pretty well made. They are small though, sized like regular playing cards and not tarot cards but at least that way they take up less space at the table when you’re doing the fortune reading.

If you’re running a Curse of Strahd adventure I think they’re worth picking up.

I bought the cards for use as a prop in my dungeons and dragons gaming evenings with my friends, and when the deck arrived, I was very impressed. Not only is every card individually illustrated in exquisite detail, the cards are high quality, and, the deck comes with a game you can play using them, which I had not expected to be either included or so interesting.

I am very fond of the Three Dragon Ante card games Wizards of the Coast produced, having spent many hours playing many hands against all sorts of people. As a prop, the cards worked perfectly, the random drawing of a card and the illustration on it, led the narrative of my game in interesting directions.

Great value in this product! So many fun and exciting ways to play again and again this game! Even the coven mechanic stands up In casual games! But the real power is taking apart the humans deck and rebuilding it! The zombies deck is good that is most useful as a shambling corpse of the good cards to add to your existing zombie deck!I would recommend taking the decks against each other for a bit first and enjoy the classic battle of zombies versus humans!.

The Innistrad Midnight Hunt Commander decks are by far the best pre-constructed sets that Wizards of the Coast have produced in recent years. There are some great old cards mixed in with some spicy new stuff to make the play experience one to remember.

The decks play really well against each other and can even hold their own against more powerful Commander decks at a multiplayer table. Highly recommended for those looking to get into Commander, or for those simply wanting to add a new deck to their repertoire.

My box was damaged and the corners of the cards in the first deck were bent on the right side. The exodia deck too all ultras bent. And the duelist kingdom cards came with double glory of the kings hands and no island card.

Keyforge is the latest card game that looks like an endless money sink from Fantasy Flight, of Android:Netrunner fame. So probably best to get a few comparative notes out of the way first: 1) No, this is *nothing* like a living card game or collectable card game.

2) Yes, you can spend £stupid on Keyforge, but I don’t think you’ll want to. The big novel feature with Keyforge – opposed to pretty much anything else – is that every single deck is unique. And you can’t change it, or tell what you’re going to get before you open it.

In theory that means that any deck you get might be utter junk, but of the ten-or-so I’ve seen so far, all of them seem ok. All of them have the potential to explode into a spectacular chain of combos, drawing forth more “oohs” and “aahs” than your average bonfire night spectacular, but all of them have also fizzled like a disappointing roman candle stuck in your back garden in a persistent drizzle.

It’s a hugely swingy game, and honestly you have to be on-board with that. It’s all part of the fun. In any other game that involves you buying ever-increasing numbers of cards you’d play one game with a deck like these and then spend hours optimising some of the.

“interesting” choices out. Not in Keyforge: you’re stuck with what you have. And that’s wonderful. I love Netrunner – I really, really love Netrunner – but I don’t play it as often as I’d like to because I just don’t have the spare time to spend putting together a deck, and on top of that I’m really not that good at it.

So when I do, the quality is pretty hit-and-miss – and then I’m stuck with a potentially rubbish deck (which is all my fault). If it goes badly, I’m not likely to play again on the off-chance I just got unlucky, or played the game poorly – I’ve got to invest another chunk of time trying to fix the deck first.

I’m not saying this isn’t fun – it is! – but it’s not playing a game, and it’s an investment of time, and of money because you need the card pool to work with. I’m aware that Netrunner is now sadly out of print, and that’s a discussion for another day, but it’s just an example I use because I play it more than the likes of Mage Wars, MTG, Lord of the Rings LCG, Game of Thrones and the like.

The same applies to any card game where you have to customise a deck. They’re not just a game; they’re (to some extent) a lifestyle. It’s also terrible. Going back to Netrunner again, I recently played a game that was so tense I had to stop to dry my hands because I genuinely had sweaty palms.

Now, one of the problems with Keyforge is that the theme is paper thin, but I think this goes deeper: I’d invested time and effort into making this deck. It was on a knife edge between working and failing.

You can’t get the same tension without investing yourself in the game, and the pre-packaged popcorn of Keyforge doesn’t do that for you. And here’s where I think Keyforge really suffers: It also does almost nothing in therms of theme or gameplay to earn that sense of investment from you.

Looking at the theme, I can’t even see what Keyforge is aiming for. The cards look fine (though there’s some poor graphic design choices which makes a couple of the types of card difficult to distinguish) and yes, I can see that mechanically the flavour of the various houses marries up with the card abilities but it just feels like playing cards that do stuff in a game.

Which seems an odd statement, but think about it: Unless you’re playing a super abstract game, generally the playing pieces, the cards, the board, are stand-ins for something else. You’re not just playing a card, you’re summoning a wolf or carefully securing your server with countermeasures, or whatever.

I mean, yes, you’re playing a card but there’s more to it. It’s contributing to the story of the game. With Keyforge, I can honestly say that the flavour washes off at the lightest touch. It’s all mechanics.

There’s no story there, and no emotion. The mechanics do work though. The chains of cards you can put together are fun. It’s undeniably satisfying to throw a ludicrous combo down, wipe out the opposing forces, capture all their aember and end the turn sitting on a small mountain of the stuff as you invite your opponent to do something about it with a smug “check” – and it’s also strangely entertaining then being on the receiving end of a similar stream of nonsense as your mountain of aember gets levelled in the very next turn.

But mechanics are the word for it – although you do have a ton of meaningful choices to make each turn, starting with which house to play, as your turn begins you’ll have a bunch of cards that the game makes available to you.

You’re going to essentially pull a few levers and the clockwork of the game is then going to spin off and do a whole bunch of stuff and then you’re done. If you’re looking for any mind games, bluffing or the like.

look elsewhere. But. Sometimes you just want to open up a game, and play without high stakes, without preparation, and without stressing yourself out trying to tell bluff from double bluff. Sometimes you just want to throw cards down and laugh at the stupid overpowered nonsense that you’re each going to get to do and that – thanks to the wonders of having totally different decks – you couldn’t even see coming.

And under those circumstances, Keyforge definitely is worth taking a look at. I’ve played a lot over the past few weeks, purely because it’s very very easy to get to the table. I can play against my 11-year-old son and it’ll be just as much fun as playing against an adult and a lot of that is because it doesn’t rely on mind games, doesn’t rely on deckbuilding and most of all because, despite expectations, despite each card breaking the rules a different way, it’s really quite simple.

Now for a word of warning that has nothing to do with the game, but everything to do with the package you get when you buy it. Shamefully, Fantasy Flight have once again produced a starter set that is incomplete.

They’ve got form for this in the past – releasing starters where you need more than one to play without running out of components – but honestly, releasing a set without the rules in it? That’s absurd.

Yes, the rules are available online, but a physical rule book makes learning the game so much easier. It’s no fun to be mucking around on a tablet or phone trying to figure out rules, and it could have been solved so easily by just putting the rules in the starter set.

I can’t understand what they were thinking. You also get a bunch of tokens in the starter set, but again – these are incomplete. There aren’t, for example, armour tokens. Depending upon the decks you end up with, armour is going to be changing a lot, and having tokens to track it with is almost a necessity, but you’re going to have to dig out something for yourself to do it.

Given that you’re going to have to find the rules online, and given that you have to augment the bits of cardboard, you may as well just dispense with the starter set entirely. Pick up a couple of the archon decks, find a few tokens to use as power, armour and health counters and you’re away.

It’s a much cheaper way of trying the game out and if you like it you can make a much nicer set of tokens and keys than you’ll get in the starter set anyway. If you’re going down that route, here’s a tip for the chain counter.

In the starter set, you get a chain counter card (as you gain chains, your card draw is reduced so you need to keep track of this). I had thought these are the only items that aren’t easily replaced by coloured counters or the like.

But! Get a set of d6. Use them to track the number of chains you have (so, for example, if you have 8 chains, you’ll stick two d6 on your deck, one showing 6, one showing 2). The number of chains is the sum of the numbers on the dice, but the card draw reduction you suffer is the number of dice you have on your deck.

This has become super long, so I suppose a summary is in order: Keyforge is good. Not great, but good. It’s very lightweight compared to other games which expect you to keep buying cards, but with that comes accessibility and relatively low-effort rewards.

The lack of depth is an issue – probably not one that will stop you having fun, but it limits how deep it’s possible to dive into the game. It’s candyfloss compared to the rich Sunday dinner you might have been expecting.

Which is fine if you like candyfloss! But you probably won’t want to be eating lots of it in one sitting. And the starter set is almost insultingly poor – so pick up a couple of these Archon decks instead if you want to try it out.

Played several games of this now and have enjoyed it. The unique deck is a cleaver idea and provides a great low cost way to play a competitive card game. I played magic for a few years and it cost a lot of money.

This is a great price and you don’t need to buy anymore. I have 2 decks that I’ve played against each other and one appears much more powerful than the other. This could be me being a novice and not figuring out my “weaker” deck or it could be just something that happens with the random unique deck as You will always get one that’s more powerful than another.

More plays will hopefully figure it out. Each game has been enjoyable anyway and Would recommend giving it a try if you are even slightly interested in a 2 player card game.

Keyforge is from master designer Richard Garfield. This versus card game for two players with a few distinctives. The first thing is that each deck is unique. So if you buy one of these packs no one else will have in the world! The second is the game isn’t about beating down your enemy but rather forging three keys by gathering enough æmber.

This makes the game feel fresh and engaging, and although you could in theory just but one pack, you will more likely grab a few to try the different combos!.

Magic: The Gathering – Warhammer 40k Commander Deck (set of 4)

Significantly better than the 2020 tins with key reprints and power cards like Triple Tactics Talent and Crossout Designator. Best tins we’ve got in a while. The tin itself looks nice as well.

The tins look amazing. Great product. But it’s a little bit over priced due to a card being over hyped. But still a must buy for anyone who is new or getting back in to the game

Decent pulls, lots of cool cards, few staples and reprints. The yearly tins are a great way to get back into yugioh after a few years

This rules for this expansion are a little complicated to understand at first, but will begin to make sense as you play. Once you get past the learning curve, it’s a lot of fun. It adds depth to the game and requires more strategizing.

In terms of gameplay, it’s definitely 5 stars. However, I am disappointed by the quality of the game pieces. There are a couple of yellow gate pieces in this game and we had one of them snap in half after picking it up.

The knight pieces are round wooden circles that you label each side with an “inactive” and “active” knight sticker. The sticker images are the same on both sides, but differs in color. The inactive side is gray and active side is beige.

However, I did not find the difference between the two colors to be distinct enough when viewed at a distance. As a result, you have to lean close to the board in order to see which side the knights are flipped to.

There are also different 3 different levels for the knghts. The knight images are slightly different, but I also found it difficult to quickly discern at a glance which level of knight is on the board.

Aside from having slightly different images, the 2nd level has one ring drawn on its border and the 3rd level has two rings. Unfortunately, the sticker printing quality was kind of poor. Some of the rings were printed off-centered and cut off, so some stickers did not have intact rings.

That also contributed to the difficulty in telling the knight pieces apart. This is a fun game, but quality seems lacking compared to the original game.

We bought Cities and Knights when we were ready for more than just the original base Catan game. The directions were a bit convoluted, but we read them thoroughly. Once we got going, the expansion rules weren’t too challenging to understand.

It brought a nice twist and change of pace to the original game. For context, my husband and I play it with my kids who are 15 and 17. Younger kids could play the game except they could get out strategized by a more mature player (kind of like Monopoly).

If you’re looking for an expansion that allows more than 4 players, this is NOT the type of expansion you are looking for. This expansion brings new elements to the game. If you’re looking for a strategy game, Catan is awesome.

I only wish we discovered it earlier.

In a word: complicated. You must have standard Catan to play this. The board set up is the same. This comes with an additional die that rolls either blue, yellow, green or black. Black means the pirate ship moves one space (on an additional piece) and once it reaches land (the board) everyone is attacked except for the person with the highest defense, which means you downgrade your cities to settlements.

To buy defense (knights) you pay 2 resources and an additional one to activate them. Knights also get deactivated when the land is attacked, costing another resource to re-activate them. This is probably the biggest push in the game – have more defense than your opponents and you’re safe.

The yellow, blue and green rolled mean you get to draw development cards but only if you have purchased the ability to do so with paper, coin or cloth which are 3 additional resources in this expansion.

These developments cards are better than the original version’s. These new resources pair with wood, oar and brick, so you get one regular resource and one new one where you have cities, rather than 2 regular resources.

A plus is that if you buy enough of these color things, one of your corresponding cities upgrades to a worth of 4 points. If you’re not completely confused yet, let me assure you – It’s alot to keep up with!! Still fun but I’ve heard Seafarers is a better expansion.

Nice variety of booster packs (3 Brilliant Stars, 2 Fusion Strike, 1 Evolving Skies, 1 Chilling Reign) in a Professor Juniper deck box w Velcro closure. The deck sleeves are also a Professor Juniper design w matte front which may be less appealing to some.

The carton itself is VERY easy to open, to the point I’d be concerned about re-sealing, but I know Over the Brick is a highly reputable shop with excellent customer service and have no worries from this venue.

This box of mostly trainers looks beautiful and is a great addition to any collection. You get a few holo trainers to add to the binder as well as the battle decks and a nice set of green sleeves for a grass type deck ( I like to color sleeves to types).

Due to the new Cyber Dragon deck support. It brings a lot of cards back from the GX Series played by Zane Truesdale. But I feel like some of the cards in this new deck are still missing that may support you like Cyber Kirin, Cyber Ouroboros and Cybernetic Hidden Technology.

Along with Machine Duplication for your Cyber Dragon Core and Twin Twisters. Other than that, great to buy and save a lot of money. Recommend for those that enjoy the true power of the Cyber Dragons especially the all new fusion monster -> Chimeratech Megafleet Dragon!.
