Best Deck For Witch Challenge (2025 Updated)

This is a beautiful deck to use, with multi-faceted interpretations/guidance that give you insight, education and action (if you choose to). For example, the card for courage is represented here with Thyme.

There is a quote, “If you’ve never experienced the joy of accomplishing more than you can imagine, plant a garden. ” Then there is the oracle meaning, which starts with “Have faith in your own abilities and take steps and leaps forward with confidence.

” Then there is cultivation – when to plant and in what conditions and position, describing time of year e. g. summer, autumn, cooler months etc rather than using calendar months which would limit the usefulness of the info.

Then there is a short list of magickal correspondences (uses, deities, celestial, astrolgical) and then there is a courage spell which explains using thyme as a hair decoration. These cards would be worth it just for the planting advice and associations with different plants, but the fact act as an oracle and a guide to small rituals make it even better.

Very pleased with this item and think it would make a wonderful gift for green-fingered family and friends.

I haven’t had a chance to spend time with these yet but on first impressions they are good quality cards in a nice box and there is a useful guide book and the images are beautifully illustrated with relavent symbols and correspondences which make the images compelling.

This deck is amazing! I trimmed mine too, in the turquoise color that you see on the back. This deck made me open my eyes to how almost all tarot decks are of white ppl. I’m white, I don’t have an issue with white ppl, but it’s nice to read for clients with a deck that has any and all types of ppl in the world! I absolutely love that! It’s like a very updated version of the original RWS and I’m here for it! It has great card stock, it’s colorful, and I put the king of swords out in the pic so you can see that it’s a woman and thats really cool, too! I never know what person is gong to schedule a reading with me, so I like to have decks that are inclusive bc I want everyone to be able to relate when the cards are laid down.

Oh, how I love the Modern Witch Tarot deck! Ignoring the myth that you must be gifted your first tarot deck, I purchased it as my first deck for myself. The ten of swords “everything is fine” card spoke to me— it’s included in the deck, along with a mini booklet, and you can choose to either swap it out for the actual ten of swords that reads “Ten of Swords”.

I chose to display it, as a reminder for when I’m not having a day like that card. If you’re anywhere from a tarot diehard, to a nonbeliever, I recommend this deck. The cards are lovely, and present a diverse array of people, and the process of tarot is nice to just get you thinking about different things in your life.

If you’re a beginner, like I was, the booklets a great start. The cards are glossy, thick, and high quality. I can’t sing this decks praises enough!.

This is deck is so stunning! My friend recently introduced me to tarot, and I’ve been looking for a deck of my own for a couple of months now. This is not my first deck! I got my first one and this one around the same time to feel around and see what fit me the most.

I love how the artist pays so much attention to details! I have noticed while looking for decks that sometimes artists put more effort into the major arcana and not so much with the minor arcana. That isn’t the case with this deck.

This one is has very cohesive styles between the major and minor arcana. Also, this is deck is for everyone. It was super inclusive for every background, orientation, etc. This deck tells me not necessarily what I want to hear, but what I need to hear.

Get to know this deck a little, and It won’t let you down. I recommend this highly to beginners (as I am a beginner myself).

The deck builder’s toolkit box sets are a great way to start off a new series for MTG. Can’t beat the price.

These cards come in a nice box. When you open the folding lid, there is a nice incarnation on the inside of the box. The incarnation that’s under the cards in my box was glued in upside down, which is very disapointing for me.

The book is easy to follow and a good size with a semi hard cover. The Major Arcana have different names and there is a guide in the back of the book explaining that. The paper is of good quality. The cards are a little smaller, but are very easy to shuffle and the card stock is fine.

The art work is nice and large so is easy to read and interperate. They come in a nice little heshian draw string bag. A fun deck to have.

I cannot stress the exceptional quality of this new tarot system. It has been brought up to date and is more relevant for the world we find ourselves living in. The quality of the illustrations is beyond compare and the whole presentation is five star.

I am not a professional tarot reader but I know a little about the Rider Waite system. The deep research that has been done to bring through this new system is so heart felt and authentic. It has inspired me to go right back to basics and learn everything I can about this.

Highly recommended!.

The images are lovely. The words are profound. The court cards of this deck have been re-thought and are more nourishing and accessible than the traditional court cards.

This set is perfect for witches and avid readers alike. The cards are high quality and beautifully illustrated. Sturdy box for storage and the guide book is informative. Highly recommend.

The Deck IS very large, but with beautifully thick cardstock. The cards will hold up well, and it’s very beautiful. I have to split it into three smaller decks inorder to shuffle them but I made do and I have VERY small hands.

If you don’t like bigger cards, don’t get them.

The artwork on the cards is unique, definitely giving you a steampunkish, old Victorian feel. And the descriptions in the booklet definitely give you the opportunity to use your instincts and make the readings your own.

The card size is a bit bigger than your usual deck so it is a little bit harder to shuffle right when you first start to get to know the deck.

These cards are very pretty and easy to read. I love the little spells in the book. They are very light hearted and nicely boxed.

I have had this deck for a week or two. Ive been doing a cleansing, well just because I do this with most things coming to my home snd weve just had a full moon. Ive done a few personal readings and they are quite insightful.

The cards are a bit thinner than normal oracle cards But they are well protected in the thick card box. They have a silver board I love. It gives an enrichment to the cards. The drawings are beautiful and witch card worthy.

I LOVE this deck. When a friend showed me hers I initially thought the style wasn’t for me, but over time they grew on me and I couldn’t resist them. For those who prefer a really thick card stock, it’s just the opposite, which is what I much prefer as I’m a riffle shuffler.

These cards are just the right thickness and give for a great shuffle and the finish on the cards is matte yet some how beautifully buttery. The imagery is emotive and I’m already feeling a huge connection to the artwork and deck overall.

I highly recommend this amazing deck.

This is my second time to purchase these cards. The first time I got them was back in the early 1990’s. They were a little longer than the one I purchased two weeks ago and harder for me to handle because my hands are small.

The colors and image’s on these cards are one of the most beautiful and outstanding deck going. There’s newer tarots and they’re very pretty like the Morgan-Greer. The Devil’s card has beautiful colors and outstanding image, considering what he stands for, but then again the Devil is the most beautiful creature out side of man.

For me, I prefer the Morgan-Greer over the others.

The box the cards came in was beat up, but other than that the deck is beautiful. Nice quality, size and images. Love it

I LOVE this deck from top to bottom. It comes in a sturdy upright hardbox. The cards aren’t super thick but they are plastic-coated so feel durable and they have a great gloss to them. That said, one card came printed off-center, both front and back and another two came with paper separating/splitting away from the card core.

I have written to Lo Scarabeo (in Italy) to see if they will replace the three flawed cards, haven’t heard back yet. Even so, I LOVE THIS DECK! The images are exciting, compelling, and meander a little from the best known RSM deck/meanings.

That is to say, the card meanings aren’t different, just modified, or specific to the deck, which I like very much. It means I can use my knowledge of standard tarot to understand a spread, but get finer detail when I dig into the nuanced meanings of the Santa Muerte deck itself.

The images are fanciful, not scary, which makes a reading lots of fun. I read recently for a client who is a pro tarot reader and their response to reading with the Santa Muerte deck was that it was the “most fun, clearest reading” they’d ever had.

The illustrations on the cards are colorful and rich, and worth a little extra consideration when reading. Even a one or two card reading can be rich in detail. They speak very clearly if you read by illustration as many intuitive readers are these days.

That’s not to say the cards abandon traditional numerology and symbolismthere’s just a little extra movement and drama in each panel to get your mind and heart pumping. So far I haven’t been stumped with these cards.

It feels like I’m looking at a party and watching individual episodes unfold and bleed into each otherthe way a solid tarot reading can do when the cards talk to each other. As a last point could go on “Santa Muerte” is the Death card in this deck.

Death is depicted as a pregnant female (skeletonamusing!) gazing expectantly over an empty baby cradle. Talk about food for thought! And how totally refreshing! If you want to. er. liven up your readings – get this deck!.

these are gorgeous, but also not. They really need to be bigger for all of the detail to stand out. They are closer to a playing card size than tarot and the image quality is just not great, not terrible either.

deck is thick and glossy though. I just find myself squinting and searching to SEE the card.

The cards are heavy like playing cards, contradictory to another set I bought recently that is like cardstock. My kids keep trying to take the “skull cards” from me now, though. The included book is the size of the cards, so may be hard to read for some.

However, it is in both English and Spanish, and I have yet to come across a set with that inclusion.

I had the choice of the standard/large green Thoth deck or this Premier Edition. I assumed since it was more expensive and the dimensions stated were larger, that I was getting a bigger deck. So I chose this because I wanted the larger size for better visual effect.

The sizes listed were NOT for the cards but the cardboard box. The cards are your typical small tarot size. The box was bigger so as to include a piece of paper for laying out a Celtic Cross spread. That was the only reason!!! So misleading.

The instruction book was pathetic. So small you can barely read it (and I wear reading glasses) and each card had a one or two line description of a few individaul words. The box was cheap thin cardboard with the lid being of “insert form” that just slid over the base.

I have purchased other decks that came with a strong hardcover box and big book for far less. Price is a rip off for what’s on offer. I was so looking forward to having these cards and was bitterly disappointed in them being so small.

Luckily I’ve bought 3 books to explain the deck – but at the moment I haven’t even bothered to look at it because of my disappointment. Don’t waste your money on this one. Just buy the other Thoth cards instead.

This is the smaller or “normal” sized deck. However it is worth noting they were the only retail outlet nearby that had the deck, even though it was, something they had to order. They had the min i deck size in stock and I read for a LOT of people the mini deck would have driven me bananas.

The staff was extremely helpful and even offered to see if they had another similar deck. So this simply would have been a 5 if they had the actual deck and size I needed. they were extremely polite and tried everything they could to find it for me.

I have used the Book of Thoth for about thirty years. My bag with my cards in it was taken. I have had several engagements for readings. And this came to me fast and quickly. Very satisfied with BAM and their staff who got it ordered for me.

I had actually gone to one of the stores and they did not have what I was looking for on the shelf. Very nice group of folks at the store I went to.

Every time I get a tarot set I cringe a bit because I know something is going to be off. The printing really fails on a lot of decks and does not match the art. This is the singularly most perfect deck I have ever seen.

I was very taken with the gorgeous light in the cards when I was trying to decide on them. So many witch type sets I have seen tend toward dark, vampirish, naked froo froo teenager junk. I have never thought that was necessary.

If witchcraft is truly based on nature then it should have the light of nature in it. Nature is a beautiful thing after all. Someone really got this right. As a photographer myself, I find the light truly exceptional in this deck.

The printing is perfect! The cards are thin, but if they are strong then they are great! Heavy does not mean good quality. I have some heavy sets and the laminate is separating before I use them. These are just about right.

Maybe a fraction thicker would be nice, but I like a deck I can hold easily. I REALLY appreciate the size of these cards. PERFECT! Too many tarot cards are just WAY too big and I have to trim them down just to handle them.

These are ideal. The stock is slightly glossy, but not like holding a piece of linoleum and has a very nice texture feel. I am extremely sensitive to how cards feel.

Nice set of cards with a book that goes quite indepth into the meanings of each. As the title suggests, this is a tarot for witches, or those with a background or working knowledge of witchcraft or wicca.

Some intresting info from that point of view and a lot of reference to covens (ok if youre in one, not so much if youre not). The art is pleasing, the decriptions detailed but not overwhelming. My biggest gripe is the quality of the cards – they are very thin and flimsy.

This is a failing of a lot of modern decks, some so thin they are like paper. This lack of quality cheapens the deck in my opinion, especially when compared to other decks such as the Rider Waite or Crowley Thoth decks which are very sturdy.

I feel very strongly about this quality issue, and have reduced by 2 stars purely for that reason. Will be writing to publisher to see if they ever plan on a thicker cardstock!.

Absolutely beautiful art work. Great for beginners and adepts. These cards incorporate all the little extras on the cards, flowers, scenery, creatures, and mythical creatures, all representing messages to guide the reader.

This is how I learned Tarot. I haven’t been able to find a deck that incorporated all these for 20 years, now i have. I love them that much I bought another set of the cards for my son to use. These are as spiritually close to my eclectic beliefs as i could possibly get.

I really enjoy the format of the cards. The descriptions along with the drawings in line with the cards themselves are new to me. Understanding how to read the cards is a tad bit difficult so that’s gonna be it’s own journey.

Much simpler than the standard deck of 78 cards but not the same at all. Initially, I purchased this deck thinking that I might be able to more easily remember the short descriptions shown in the advertisement.

These are completely different. They are smaller with different meanings, different pictures, and there are only 52 cards. (It did say “playing cards” but apparently that didn’t soak in. lol) This is not a bad thing though! I am still happy with the purchase because this is a quick method of divination and I consult my cards regularly.

All in all I am pleased with this little deck. :-).

My first deck, (from the early 70s). got. “lost” by a friend. my second deck got moldy from storage after a move. this is my third deck. that aught to tell you everything you need to know. I was surprised to find this was an unused deck.

did not realize that at the time of purchase. I am so pleased with it.
