Best Deck For Builders Workshop (2024 Updated)

My nine year old is hooked on these! She takes them to school and plays during recess. Guess they’re pretty popular right now. Price is really good highly recommended for ages seven and older because they do have small park and are difficult to put together.

Your child will enjoy them.

Mines was very faulty. The screws wouldn’t fit into the board and I couldn’t screw in the screws into the trucks. One of the trucks wouldn’t let me put on it’s left wheel but all the others were fine.

Also it only came with 2 sets of trucks which is really stupid since there is more than two boards. I took almost an hour trying to get one board to finally be built but it was very loose. I wouldn’t recommend this at all, I can’t even return this since the boards snapped while trying to put a truck on.

Board looks and feels great! First time trying out alien workshop and couldn’t be happier. The trucks needed some tightening to the board and for my preferred stiffness, but it was ready to go straight out of the box.

Great quality product which will look amazing in one of my projects.

Good as expected

For my first installation of my exotic wooden terrace, these tools are really perfect and essential! The drilling template is really great on the other hand the pre-drilling + milling the drill bit is not long enough to make the marking therefore provide a screwdriver with a drill bit for marking! The clamp is top because I had a lot of banana blade !! The wedges are good but very quickly broken short for the price do not hesitate 2 clamps + a set of wedges will not be too much for a terrace of 70 M2 like mine.

I purchased this deck for a customer, blindly buying since I don’t skate lol, showed up and I was very impressed when build quality! This was a custom order for my small wood burning business and I will definitely buy again! Highly recommend! Extremely solid deck, it withstood 15,000 volts lol!.

This board is a solid board, it ha a bit more flex than i thought, i had my doubts at first until i got to ride it then it was like riding on clouds when i hit the course gravel road. the flex absorbs about 75% of the shock leaving a bit of rattle that you can be comfortable with.

if your looking for a great racing board this is the one cause the turn radius is a lot less than other boards.

I’m a big guy like 230 lbs. And this board feels strong and solid. Rides well nice shape. Great price. Couldn’t be happier. Clear grip tape shows off the wood grain too.

Works well. We are using Ipe which is very hard and the hole still has a bit of fiber that needs to be sanded off, it is not perfectly clean. Other than that the tool works well and so do the plugs and it saves a lot of time and is the way to go.

The screws in this kit seems not to be original. They would heat up when going through the wood and break before seating. The mahogany was also off, but seemed to be true mahogany

I bought the Mahogany Plugs, I thought they would match better. Maybe after sanding and sealing will help.

Had some storm damage on my ten year old Trex deck railing. To my surprise the color of the new matched the old. Decks Direct had the parts in stock and shipped fast. Will definitely use them again.

I purchased this material, which I ordered to expedite the completion of a project. When I opened the box it was completely shattered on one end. I could even use it. This is my first time ordering from the DIY site.

The only problem is the Canadian supplier does not sell single pieces. , Everthing is in kits so if a single part is required, the Canadian supplier does not carry it. However these are available in the US.

This is a serious supply problem. Also delery times through Home Depot are too long.

This product is very nice to work with once you get used to how ‘flexible’ it is when ordered in 16 foot or greater lengths. It cuts just like wood and is easy to install with correct fasteners and screws.

The major complaint I have with Home Depot on this product is that they DO NOT cut these boards at the store so that you can transport home easily, and more importantly they do not inform you of this when buying lengths over 8 feet.

Apparently they will not cut the boards as they say the composite materials ‘clog’ up their vacuum system. This is simply a bad excuse, as I cut these boards for my entire project at home and experience zero ‘clogging’ on any of my saws or vacuum bag connections.

As a result of this Home depot policy I had to make two trips to pick up this material: Second trip with a trailer that could accomodate 16 foot composite boards. This would not have been a problem if Depot simply notified me when I selected 16 foot boards that it will NOT cut composite boards at the store.

This should be a very simple ‘rule’ to add into their online shopping software for buyers, since these products must be ordered online first. i. e. Not stocked in the store.

We bought this decking for a brand new deck and had hired a contractor to install it. The decking itself is nice to walk on and, although it does get hot in the sun, it is not unbearable. All in all, the look of the decking is nice and we are happy with the visual results.

Some things that we were not aware of and were not expecting. Expansion and contraction. This deck is noisy. As it warms up in the morning, it creaks constantly until it equalizes. Then, in the evening as it cools, it starts the cycle again.

We never had this issue with our previous all-wood deck so it was a surprise. The noise aside, the decking itself does not seem overly affected by the expansion/contraction except for an change in the gap between the butt joints.

Online forums say that this noise is greatly reduced after a year. The fascia DID expand a lot! The installer butted the ends together but when the fascia expanded, it actually caused the two ends to push against each other and away from the deck about an inch.

The installer adjusted the length of the fascia in order to remove this issue. The other unfortunate thing is static shocks. Walking on the deck and then touching either the house door-handle or the railing will produce an annoying static shock.

Readings online have said that this aspect dissipates over time. Overall, we are happy with the product. Even had we known about the noise, the expansion, or the static, we would still have gone ahead with the installation but it would have been nice to know about these possible issues in advance.

We are looking forward to not having to deal with staining a wooden deck.

I received my Decking samples the middle of November, I chose two colors of what I thought I would like on my deck. I was really surprised at the thickness of the samples and they look like real wood with the grain enhanced with a little darker color the texture of a fresh cut plank.

The Pebble grey is really nice and I am going to have troubles choosing which I like the best. The material used is from recycled materials and the technology used helps in no warping, splintering, or wood rot and The best feature is termite resistant.

I really think these planks will last for years without maintenance or repairs because of the thickness of this plank ½”.

I put this through an series of test to check durability, ease of cleaning and colorfast. It surpassed all my tests. I left it out in the rain, sleet, snow, freezing temps, wind and sun for 2 weeks (no heat or hot weather as it is winter season) and it looked perfectly fine after being exposed to the elements.

It is easy to clean either by hose or wiping up a small area with a rag. My 3 yr old grandson ran cars on it, hit it with toys, a small hammer, buried it in dirt, then mud and it cleaned of fine with no scratch marks or damage to the surface.

I even put red dye on it and it came off with ease. It is thick and durable.

The Trex – Enhance line is a product that I have used many times as a contractor. There are similar products available, but some of these have priced themselves out of a lot of my customer’s price range, or just don’t stand the test of time.

Pebble Grey is a nice warm medium grey. Trex Select also has a very nice woodgrain texture for a more natural look. Easy to clean, just hose it down. This product will last a long time and look great the whole time.

Fashionable deck, especially for the smokers under us. I have gotten so many complements about this deck, the design, it is just amazing!!! Probably gonna buy this deck again since i want to have the design up my wall.

This is too nice to skate! The deck itself is solid and I\’m sure I\’ll ride it one day, but for now it\’s used as office decoration 🙂

It has great pop, the shape is very nice, the graphic is really cool and 10/10 would recommend this deck
