This was the first Dean Koontz book I read 30 yrs ago!!! I’ve been wanting it in hardback for ever!!! Great Condition!!

Normal wear and tear but still in great condition. Just as described! Cant wait read.

This book has been a top three of Koontz’s work. It haunted me to re-read it for years. Watchers being number one. However, find it at the library or a used book store or flea market. This book was shipped from Toledo, Ohio west 266 miles to Glendale, Illinois before it’s trek east to New Jersey, where it sat for 5 days, in Pennsylvania only 77 miles away from my location.

totally unacceptable shipping process. But the book and story had me wanting to throw the book through a window, while another part wouldn’t let me put it down. A must read!!.

If I could, out of a scale of 1-5 I would give this book a solid 10. It is one of the greatest books I have ever read in fiction. Love, loss, tragedy, humor, suspense, drama, action and a dash of sci-fi are all combined in this book.

That combined with the expertise story-telling abilities of Koontz delivers a book that cuts right to the quick of life, asks some of the hard questions, and delivers a hard punch (both in the good and the bad) on each and every page.

Excellent character structure and development left me hanging on each word even more than the plot, which is a rare thing anymore.

The paperback was practicaly perfect. A page turner I couldn’t put it down.

This is the worthy successor to Watchers that we have all been wanting for YEARS. Beats out 99. 9% of the competition and becomes a tribute to Dean Koontz’ spirit and soul. The book was in perfect condition and reached me very quickly, locked down at home as I am.

With the libraries closed, I made a special trip to loan it to a dear friend who also loves his work and can’t afford it yet. We obeyed all the rules and now she too has a comfort book for awhile.

Great book!! Koontz does himself proud. I loved it and immediately as I finished, I ran it over to a friend to read it. But, I always love it when he puts a great dog in the mix. So, it is somewhat like Watchers, but even better.

And, to top it off, a really warm and fuzzy ending. LOVE IT.

I usually like Dean Koontz books but this particular book had way too much going on. He seemed to be writing three books at once and the character banter was so fake. I give good authors credit for being above average observers of human nature and actions.

The actions of Hillary were the opposite of what any rational human being would have done. He tried to make her reactions to an attacker a learned response to a violent past but he focused more on Franks past before he killed him off.

I felt like I was reading multiple books at the same time and I truly didn’t care what happened to any of the characters. Not my favorite Dean Koontz work.

Found one of the Jane Hawk series books by Dean Koontz at the thrift store and it was so good I had to order the rest of the series. Very very good reading!

It’s a good ‘un alright! Couldn’t wait to start this, the anticipation was way worthwhile. You’d think the content would have trailed off by now, but oh no, NO WAY! Great book, great buy.

I’m hooked on the Jane Hawk series. Love having a woman being the main character. It’s a creepy world and only she can save it.

This is the 3rd in the series and it’s pretty good. The 4th book is due out in the Oct-Nov time frame. It is about Victor Helios (aka Frankenstein), but an evil version, who simply wants to end life on Earth.

His oldest creation, Deucalion, still lives and feels his mission in life in to stop Helios. I did not feel it was as good as the first 2 books but still enjoyable. It will be very interesting to see where Dean take the 4th book.

In my mind, Koontz is simply the best supernatural fiction writer out there.

walmart or the postal service really dropped the ball on this on. my book was supposed to arrive the next to last weekend in july but didn’t show up until the first of august. it was mis-shipped or something and ended up going out west before coming to me in Tennessee.

while it was not needed exactly on that date, it still arrived more than a week after the expected delivery date. i also didn’t understand why i could get all of the rest of the books on free site to store delivery and this one had to be shipped to my house.

that is all on that. as for the book, this series is one of the best i have ever read. i love them and would recommend them to anyone who enjoys a good suspense read. they are fast reads, i finished each book in about a day.

just a note, i do work full-time so its not like i sit at home all day and read. they are very interesting and you really can’t go wrong with these books.

This was a fantastic book as is expected of every Dean Koontz book and a great way to end this trilogy. I did thoroughly enjoy this book though I was slightly dismayed at how the book ended. But such twists should be expected in and novel by Dean Koontz.

A word of caution if a friend offers you a book which they enjoyed and feel that ‘it is one you will like ‘ check to see if it is the fourth of a series. If it is and you elect to read it you run the risk of: A) being confused as to whom the characters are B) lost in the plot (as the ground work for the plot points having been laid in previous installments C) the friend being wrong and the book is a waste of time or D) the friend was right and now you have to read the entire series the main character being so well developed the plot so engaging and the questions left unanswered too great to be left unaddressed.

The correct answer for this book is ‘D. ‘ Although I did see the movie based upon the first novel in this series I was delighted to see such a fresh well penned sparkling novel so late in the series (this is the fourth in a predicted six novel series).

I had listened to Koontz’ book Intensity on tape years ago and decided then after getting both my heart rate down and my breathing restarted that I would not read another of his works. Then I found the writing clear realistic spot-on descriptive and terrifying.

In this work his prose is dazzling without being pretentious his characters are clearly written with unique voices his action and settings are so exact the reader could be walking in the scene. Even though the story is a thriller it is not scary.

The dead visit Odd Thomas. They are unable to speak but they manage to communicate with the hero by miming gestures and sometimes causing things to move about. He has learned those who visit him are not ready to ‘move on’ and hang around wanting to finish things undone while they were alive sometimes he can help with that task.

Frank Sinatra is a returning Specter in this novel (a classy touch used to perfection in the course of the story). In this installment Odd who tries to live as much ‘off the grid’ as possible has a vision of the world in flames.

In the course of his life he has learned to pay attention to such visualizations and soon finds himself over his head in danger intrigue and discovery. The book never drags Mr. Koontz spins an adult story without the need for off-color plot points vulgar language or an undue amount of violence (what violence exists is not graphic).

By the time Odd moves from Magic Beach CA he has learned more of himself discovered deeper mysteries has picked up new ‘friends’ and fought back the Shadows enough for a new day to dawn. This book as I expect the series has deep Spiritual undertones.

The main character is named literally Odd and his life is spent in the bewilderment of what life lived fully engaged offers ñ excitement wonder danger exhilaration new friends and a sense of being connected to ‘Something Greater.

‘ Mr. Koontz takes a fantastical idea and writes that story so well that the reader expects it to be true. This is helped because we (the reader) want there to be someone who can see perils and be brave enough to face them who is willing to keep company with those who have ‘unfinished business’ and help them ‘get done ‘ and who is not blinded by the scarred exterior to the power hidden by the marks of pain.

I will enjoy reading all of the Odd Thomas novels. It speaks of a story familiar to my dreams.

we had started the Odd Thomas series by listening to audio books and fell in love. It is a really entertaining set of stories. Our nieces were with us when we were listening to one audio book and they knew that it was a set of stories that they had to read so I bought the set and Odd Hours for them.

We have become attached to the character Odd and can’t wait to hear about each of his adventures as he goes thru each day of is “odd” life experiences. Great writing by Dean Koontz for story and he builds and structures each character and story so well.

We don’t ever want the Odd Thomas stories to end. I have become interested in reading other Dean Koontz stories.

I would rate it higher then book 3 and even 2. Definitely a very good book to read. Unlike previous 2 it is developing much quicker with lots more mystery to puzzle through that will make you slightly impatient to find out rather then guessing.

Should you look for some book you will not be able to put down until you reach 3/4 of it, at least, that is the one.

Another excellent Dean Koontz novel. The Odd Thomas series is so fun to read. The movie was excellent too, followed the book quite closely. I only wish Anton Yelchin was still with us!

I can’t get enough of Odd Thomas, I absolutely love this series and will be very sad when I finish the last book. This is a must-read if you are reading the series although when I saw Dean Koontz interview he was adamant there would only be 7 Odd novels, this makes the series 8, nevertheless I enjoyed it and you will too!.

I have read it in one weekend! It is a good suspense novel about a person that sees ghosts. This book has everything the lover of suspense novels needs: a mystery, growing tension with every page turned and a twist at the end.

Between S King and D Koontz I would always chose D Koontz: simply because he uses better language. So for me his novels are more enjoyable.

Synopsis: Odd Thomas has a way with the dead. They never talk to him, but they do try to communicate. Short-order cook is his day job. Other times he is trying to do right by the dead souls who come to him.

Sometimes they seek justice. Sometimes they want to help prevent a disaster. When a mysterious man comes to town, Odd finds a pack of hyena-like shades following him. Further investigation shows the man has an interest in mass killings.

There is also an ominous date added to the mix, leaving Odd 24 hours before evil strikes. With Stormy Llewellyn, his beloved, the ghost of Elvis, and a host of other friends, Odd must stand between evil and his home of Pico Mundo.

Review: Odd Thomas is set in a desert community of Pico Mundo and centers on a psychic named Odd Thomas. When a large man enters the Pico Mundo Grill where Odd works, Odd immediately notices shadow creatures around him: harbingers of a looming cataclysm.

The story is told in the first person. The elements of the story should make it interesting. However, the first person nature of the story causes Mr. Koontz to delve into long expositions. These are explanations the reader will likely find confusing.

The result is a book that is hard to follow.

First published back in 2004, Volume One of the Odd Thomas series has deservedly earned the title of Supernatural Classic. Describing the book’s plot to a friend who is not overly familiar with either Dean Koontz or the horror genre, she quickly surmised the book to be a mystery.

And it is, sort of. But not really. It all boils down to the fact that Odd Thomas can see dead people. But as Mr Koontz says, “. he [Odd] actually DOES something about it. “. It is a good thing, therefore, as an incredibly bold (or is that naive?) twenty one year old, that he has strong connections with the town Sheriff.

And that in the context of this story, his girlfriend – Stormy Lleweyn – is the niece of the village Catholic Priest. As i approach the halfway mark, I am yet to meet the entire cast of characters, but those that have been introduced to the reader are full of depth, humour, intelligence and to summarise, are all beautifully and immaculately presented.

My favourite is the amateur mystery novelist Ozzie, who is so overweight that the term “obese” does not even fit his literary persona. But what an amazingly intellectual mind he has! And with such friendship and plutonic love he holds for Odd, he is almost like the Father Odd never knew.

There is a plethora of supporting characters, too, which are a joy to meet, but I won’t ruin the surprise for any of those that have not completed this supernatural fantasy by mentioning them gere. But brace yourself.

*grins* And speaking of the bad guys – which I wasn’t – but I am now – they too are as delightful and fun to read about as they were for Mr Koontz to write about. The main antagonist for Odd is a “gentleman” called the Fungus Man – who not only turns out to be a devoted follower of some of the most evil men in history but also possesses the rare (and unwanted) talent of attracting sentient voids of the universe (aka “bodachs”) just about anywhere he goes.

And of course the Fungus Man has an almost supernatural ability to “be” just about anywhere he “needs” to be virtually at will. For readers who are interested, there are a couple of phrases inserted into the body of the book that could almost be described as Mr Koontz being autobiographical.

For example, taken from location 1504 of the kindle version: “Ozzie’s success doesn’t in the least surprise me. He likes people and he listens to them, and that love of humanity shines out of his pages.

” The quintessential Koontzanism? I think so. So what is the book really about? Is it a standalone novel? Or merely the prologue to arguably the first and greatest supernatural fantasy series of all time? Well in my opinion, it is both.

Clearly the Fungus Man must be stopped. He is bad. Odd Thomas (and his small army of friends) represent the forces of good in the tiny town of Pico Mundo and they will (of course) do their darnedest to protect its integrity.

So our role as readers, of course, is to sit on the sidelines, cheer on the good guys, and hope for the outcome we all want. Because if Mr Odd fails to overcome the invading evil and achieve his destiny, how on earth is Mr Koontz going to write eight more fantastic books to read? I hereby award this book a very solid four stars, despite its status as the opening stanza to a legendary series.

I cant wait to see how this story finishes, and of course i can’t wait to get my bands on the rest of the books and start devouring them like a vampire devouring virginal blood. But just don’t let Odd Thomas see me! BFN Greggorio!.

I have been reading Stephen King books since what seems like forever so I was looking forward to his take on the classic Frankenstein. Now I loved the first three books BUT I think it could’ve happily ended there.

While I enjoyed this book, I must admit I was starting to get over the story. It took me a lot longer to read this one than the previous books. I will get the final book but I think I’ll leave it for a while.

I should have paid closer attention to the description of this book. It came with labels because it was a library book. These labels are not removable. I tried to remove them and it damaged the book permanently.

I will rebuy this book and I will pay closer attention next time to the description.

very good condition /nice addition to my collection of the 5 book series . very good story line by a very good author . i have read a lot of Dean Koontz books and have enjoyed them all .

The front and back covers were in decent condition, but the pages were pretty faded orange. The story was interesting, but Dean Koontz often rambles on with too much useless descriptions and thoughts.

I’ve read better.

Another taste of excellence by Dean Koontz. Even though it’s a thick book, it was engaging enough to read quickly. It’s a story of a child who has been the main subject in an experiment that done in secret due to the simple fact that it is worse than any prison’s torturous treatment.

It’s not possible that it would be able to pass any standards of testing, so has been done in complete secrecy for years of the girl’s life. See the monster they have turned her into strike back at her keepers.

I loved this book. I have read many of Dean Koonz’s Books and this has to be one of the best. The story line grabs you from the very beginning and keeps you guessing. till the very end. !!! He has a great imagination.

Once you start on this book, you won’t want to put it down. I recommend this to anyone who loves a good thriller !!.

This is my favorite book! I buy copies every year to give it out for the Holidays. It has adventure, suspense, action and humor. The protagonist is a pastry chef and the book has more than one evil clown.

That should be enough to make anyone give this a shot!.

Life expectancy is a great book to read. The story’s protagonist in the story, Jimmy doesn’t have it easy because starting on his twentieth year alive the first of five horrible days start to begin. The plot in this story is great because it always keeps you guessing on what’s going to happen next.

The characters in the story are in my opinion the greatest thing this book has. I really like the relationship between the protagonists and the antagonists. It’s unique and it’s something I have not anywhere else.

There is humor, a bit of romance, and whole lot of death in this book. If you like any of these things then I recommend you read this when you get the opportunity.

#sweepstakes Dean Koontz is truly a really good Author. If you enjoy suspenseful thrillers that keeps you on the edge of your seat, he is the author for you. Life Expectancy grabs you from the start and you will not want to put it down!!.

If I were comparing this with other Koontz books, I would give it a “4” compared with everybody else it is definitely a “5. ” This novel shows just how good Dean Koontz has become since his mediocre SF novels of decades ago.

he has taken one of the oldest plots in the world (“the biter bit”) and turned it into a thrilling tour-de-force. I thought I was getting tired of all the “serial killer” novels coming out these days actually I was but it didn’t matter; this one is at the top of my list.

Incidentally, I got it from my public library. but if your library doesn’t have it, I recommend buying it. Yes, I do sell books on the internet; no, I do not have this one for sale, nor do I expect to, unless some nice person gives me two free copies (in which case I will keep one of them on my own bookshelf).

Now it’s two years later and I just re-read my review. Guess what I am going to do now. (if you guessed go back and REREAD THIS BOOK you were right!) I expect to enjoy it a lot. And now it’s a year or so later.

This was a great book, a little bit of a departure from some of his other books. I don’t keep a lot of books, I try to pass them on, just because I have a very small house with limited space, so have to be very selective of the books I keep.

I am keeping this one!.

Semi- predictable. It was too simple as far as the action and the characters. By about a third of the way through, I had figured out who the killer was. The bread crumb left by Koontz for us to figure it out was roughly the size of a Buick.

I guess if you want more complex Characters, you read someone like Robert McCammon (who I highly recommend to anyone who wants to sink their teeth into good solid characters). Nevertheless, I will still read Koontz to kill time for lack of a better book.

Genre: Drama/Action/Mystery Warnings: Some language and violence, mild adult content When Koontz writes these days, he writes so well that I cant put the novel down so I have to begin reading it early in the day if I want to sleep that night.

Unfortunately I was up all night with this one, a very good one – and I started reading far too late. The Husband by Dean Koontz is a murder/drama/mystery with nothing of the supernatural involved other than the occasional feelings of closeness or dread among the characters.

To not give the plot away, this is an excellent read. I couldnt put it down. The story is about a middle-income gardener whose wife is kidnapped; the kidnappers demand? Two million dollars! Where is a simple gardener to get that kind of money? Then he discovers the secrets within secrets- within secrets.

And his life and the people he admired in his life were never really what he believed them to be. His life and he will never be the same. What follows is a trail of intrigue involving his own family and their many SURPRISING secrets along with a painful delving into his own past – and a reconciliation with that past in order to gain the strength to save his wife.

In light of a SHOCKING betrayal, a trail of self-discovery and recognition of many hard truths, he finds within himself a strength gained from his past as a neglected, abused child that he never dreamed he could have; an ability to fight for what is his own, what he loves and for what he wants to hang onto.

Wow! Koontz can run with a story. This one gets a big Bravo Zulu ! Twenty-seven-year-old Mitchell Rafferty owns Big Green (a gardening service), lives a simple life, and loves his new wife very much.

When kidnappers call to report that his wife Holly will be killed unless he delivers two million dollars to them, Rafferty has no idea why they would target him. Although he possesses a mere thirty thousand dollars in total assets, this innocent gardener finds himself falling into a tangled web of deception, greed and murder.

As the Ernest Hemingway quote just inside the cover says, Rafferty begins to exude grace under pressure. From the first encounter of evil to the last, he searches within himself for means to rescue his wife.

Koontzs glory is in the nave personality of his garden hero, and the way that the outcome plays out rather sensibly. This is not some superficial action thriller, nor is it merely a one-trick wonder (think A History of Violence.

) Instead, Rafferty is the everyman who seeks to save that which is lost. Our everyman hero has a childhood story that needs to be told, understood, and worked through. And while Rafferty serves as the main character and lens through which we see the world, the readers examination of his family is equally important.

While the books title obviously points to the familial, the commentary on relationships is strongest when discussing fathers and sons. Koontz examines each character in detail, allowing us to see Mitch, his father and his siblings for ourselves.

Koontz also shines light on the kidnappers, and others who would prefer to remain darkened, allowing us to feel justified when Rafferty inflicts pain on them. Still, the villains of this battle remain humanized, because the gardener sees them as misguided, tortured while cruel themselves.

Dont mistake mercy for fragility, thoughthe novel bears bloody fingerprints as Rafferty takes steps he never imagined to work out Hollys rescue. The steps he takes wear at him as he shoots, punches, and stabsour hero takes no pride in the pain he inflicts on his enemies.

That most of us would enjoy the retribution Rafferty enacts seems obvious to Koontz, and we find ourselves hoping for the punishment of many of the villains. Raffertys own childhood is ripe with cruelty, and the novel allows us to see the choice that he made in comparison to others.

Two children encounter the same extreme situation but respond differently. What causes one to rise and one to fall? How does one, but not the other, learn sacrifice and mercy in the face of selfishness and cruelty? Koontz doesnt provide us with the answers to these questions, but he does show that one can strive to be a better man and a better husband.

Whether you agree or disagree with the decisions made by our hero in the story, youll find the plot ripe with action, intrigue and true love. Based on my enjoyment of The Husband, I may have to go back and try those other Koontz books again.

If nothing else, Ive learned that one must finish the course.

This book riveted me from page one. A page turner, for sure. A thriller, fast, fast paced, but as usual with his books, when you are done, you realize how many layers of truth, possibilities, he uncovered.

And also as usual, he introduced new ways of thinking, a kind of happy magic. I love Dean Koontz because he makes ordinary people wonderful, shiny, bigger than they seem. He introduces us to precious Human(and dog) Spirits, and also does not mince words or position with evil.

Hi s bad characters should just how bad human beings can be. but always, you end up lifted up. The whole ending is a surprise. And my only complaint is that the book ended at all! Kat Jones.

Another wonderful and enjoyable read by Dean Koontz!! There is nothing about this book that I don’t like. As with all of his other books I have read, this book is absolutly wonderful. It grabs your attention right from the begining.

Koontz is a great story teller. This book is spooky because it is something that could really happen, to any of us. And the way he takes you along with the charactrs, through the good and the bad, makes you feel as though you are actually there.

I bought this book to add to my personal library of Dean Koontz books.

Though what seem to be the main characters are definitely two that you will engage with and feel for, it is the mostly silent hero that you will truly engage with, without using many words you will be able to re-trace and experience his anguish, pain and heartbreak.

Additionally the great twists and unexpected turn of events (that at some points seem just a little too handy) make this book into a real ‘Koontz’ any fan will love.

IN SO MANY NOVELS THEY USE SEX AND SENSELESS( AS OF COURSE COMPARED TO HIS JUSTIFIABLE :)VIOLENCE TO FILL MOST OF THE WRITEEN WORD WHERE DEAN HAS NO NEED OF IT. THE STORY HAS A MORAL AND STRONG FAMILY VALUES.

KUDOS FOR DEAN KOONTZ ESPECIALLY HIS LATER NOVELS.

My wife & I love to read! I noticed that more & more that she wasn’t enjoying it as much. After using my deductive skills, I found out why, she was having a hard time making out the small print. She was only reading a few pages at a time & it was frustrating her.

I dug through he “to read” list & ended up with Forever Odd being her next. I found a large print here on Ebay & now she is back at it. The book itself is an excellent read in a gripping series from Koontz.

So if its not on your list, rewrite yours & add the whole series!.

First of all, don’t read this book unless you have already read Odd Thomas as it contains spoilers for the first book. Just as we don’t read the last page first and first page last, or anywhere in between, we also should read books in order for the sake of the story 🙂 Forever Odd is a good book.

With his usual artful style, Koontz flips your emotions as if on a remote control. You feel the fear of the situation, the tension, the thrill, and then flip right back into laughter. and awe. Koontz can tug at your heart strings, but leave you with enough humor that you aren’t completely devestated and can smile in spite of it all.

Odd Thomas is a special character. He is one we should all strive to emulate. Compassionate, intelligent, humble, yet confident. And he is surrounded by special people, although they play far less of a role in this book than the previous book.

Not as good as the first, but a close second. Well worth the read and the space on your bookshelf.

Whether you like Koontz or Not you WILL LOVE Odd Thomas Odd Thomas is one of the most likeable characters I have ever come across. As you get further into the novel you will start to really identify with Mr.

Thomas. Forever Odd is just as good, if not better than the original novel in this series (Odd Thomas, Dean Koontz). Odd has grown up a bit, and this novel is a little more graphic than the original, but Forever Odd, like Odd Thomas, is impossible to put down.

Borrow or Buy?: BUY, BUY, BUY!!! If you haven’t read Odd Thomas yet, DO NOT buy this book. Well. buy it, but don’t read it. Make sure to read Odd Thomas first. Both books are worth buying and get my 100% stamp of aproval.

Book arrived in very good condition and quickly! Thank you. Have started reading already. Dean Koontz is a fascinating writer and his stories, including this one, are hard to put down. Often, what is going on is a mystery and you just have to read a few more pages.

When Koontz started writing he was much like Stephen King, but in the mid 2000’s his whole outlook in creative writing changed for the better. He looked at good and evil and gave us a host of possibilities in this world as these poles clash.

I commend his work and find One Door Away of Heaven one of his best!!.

One of Koontz’s longer tomes of late, One Door Away from Heaven is a good thriller tale. Our heroine is a young girl who is wise beyond her years as well as a bit jaded. She is growing up in horribly awful conditions with a drug-tripping mother and homicidal step-father, who quietly disposed of her brother while telling her mother that the aliens had taken him.

Sometimes a bit more shallow than Koontz is known for, yet consistently riveting, One Door Away from Heaven will satisfy readers new to Koontz as well as long time fans.

Heroes, villains, victims, dire situations, challenges, tragedies, suspense, tears, humor, this book has it all. Roller coaster of emotions. One of my favorites from Koontz. Will NOT disappoint.

I bought this book because I read it years ago, and loved it! If you like science fiction, or a good thriller than this book is for you! I found a hardcover used for a great price, so I figured I’d read it again.

If you like Dean Koontz, and you haven’t read “Lightning” yet do yourself a favor, and give it a shot. Trust me!.

This is one of the best books I have ever read. It would appeal to a wide range of readers. Have a go, u won’t b disappointed Dean Koontz is a really good author..

I am a huge Dean Koontz fan and have read almost all of his books. This book was, as the heading says, “typical Dean Koontz”. The story was good, fast paced and kept my interest, although at times somewhat predictable.

Having said that, I think Koontz is losing his edge. The story just didn’t “grab” me the way some of his other books have. And to tell the truth, I never really connected with any of the characters. In my opinion, “Watchers” is still his best book EVER, although that may be just my opinion.

The story revolves around an author and his family (including a quirky dog named Lassie) who are (relentlessly) pursued by a mysterious book critic to the point that they must abandon their home and go on the run.

Wherever they go, somehow he finds them. Without giving too much away, they come to realize that the situation is much bigger than just one crazy critic, but rather a faction of purists intent on preserving all the classical art forms by eliminating modern day artists and writers who do not conform to their standards.

The ending was a surprise, and somewhat of a stretch even for Koontz, but all in all an enjoyable read. Koontz fans will eat it up!.

I bought this book with somewhat low expectations of it. Koontz is one of my all time favorite authors, but some of his latest works have been a bit lacking, compared to some of his other titles. I was pleasantly surprised, however, by the characters and story line of the book.

Koontz as always, weaves his amazing humor throughout, even in the midst of bleakness, and always searches for hope. Cubby is an amazingly funny hero!.

Again, Dean Koontz has made another amazing book. I’ve yet to read one that I wasn’t impressed with. I’m not quite finished with it yet, but I can’t wait to see how it turns out! He is always keeping you on your toes, and his descriptive writing makes you feel like you’re right along with all the characters! Definately recommend this book!.

One of my few indulgences is reading horror novels, and this one, by Koontz kept me very interested throughout. Koontz is not new to me as I have read a few of his books, but “Midnight” is the best so far for me.

Koontz blends relationships into his stories unlike any other horror writer I have read, and keeps the science facts believable which is hard to do. if you enjoy horror try a few of his books. I just bought a few more!.

The book is fairly old and I was not discouraged by the slightly yellowing pages. I was impressed in the good condition of the cover and there was no sign of foxing of the pages.

I really loved the first two books about Moonlight Bay, with Chris Snow and his friends. This is the 3rd and final installation. I was disappointed that Chris wasn’t even mentioned, let alone involved with the final disposition of the bad guys.

The new hero was interesting, but the ” I have to know what happens next” wasn’t there and the humor was missing as well. I found the unabridged version a bit long, with unnecessary detail in descriptions, etc, that weren’t really necessary to the story.

I would buy it again, but would get the abridged version instead.
