After setting up my TV out of the box and using the TCL IPQ app , every thing looked wonderful after coming from a PC monitor. HDR was one of the things that was improved right off the back in comparisons to my monitor.

This TV really needs to be configure as it doesn’t look right out of the box and a bunch of settings need to be disabled when your using it for a PC monitor and a streaming device. Sadly I have one dead pixel, but it’s in a location off to the side and even then, I don’t notice it unless I go searching for it with my face on the screen while using it with my PC without my PC I don’t notice it.

When I first tried Dolby atmos using the Dolby access app’s in windows,Dolby atmos for home theater it worked very well. After a firmware update for the TV, The App stopped seeing the TV as a supported device for the format, it happened right after the TV firmware update.

So I can’t use it with PC games that support the format til that’s fixed. When atmos is working it’s with the Netflix,Movie anywhere and HBO Max app’s in the Roku TV app store, it sounds good coming from the TV speakers.

Even if it sounds good, the bass doesn’t sound good enough as it comes off as trying to but not being able to reproduce bass that well. So the speakers doesn’t work so well when listening to music with bass or even a lot of bass.

It’s decent when its music with some bass in it. WiFi connection worked without any issues, it’s limited to 2. 5 and 5, as there is no support for Wifi6. Also Ethernet is limited to 100MB in this day and age is subpar, it would’ve been a plus if the Ethernet port wasn’t limited to 100MB and went up to 1GB for those on fiber connections.

Sadly the TV doesn’t have any support for using USB network adapters so you can’t add a 1GB network adapter, or Bluetooth for that matter since the R635 doesn’t have Bluetooth support. The remote responded very well but there were times where the TV took a while to move thru the options, even one time causing the TV to crash and reboot it self, but so far that only happened once.

But it still slows down thru the menus but at random. With the TV having adaptive sync and ALLM now, while they both are useful, ALLM causes a strange issue with my PC, it causes text to blur when you scroll down.

Turning it off causes this problem to stop, while adaptive sync well free sync for my AMD GPU doesn’t work that well and causes a hint of motion blurring, I don’t know if its because its freesync 1 and not freesync 2.

But when ALLM was enabled it did have no issues with detecting when I launched a game or not in windows, automatically enabling game mode when I did. With my PC 2560×1440 120hz worked without any issues, I didn’t have to mess with anything to get it to work.

While text looked off while at 1440p due to it using RGB 4:4:4 and not YcBcR 4. :4:4 it didn’t really effect my gaming. Also 10bit and 12bit color depth its usable at YcBcR 4:2:0 pixel format. While 4:4:4 is limited to 8 bits, due to this TV being HDMI 2.

0b and not HDMI 2. 1. The Headphone port on the sides worked very well for what they are, had no problems with powering my DT 240 pro headphones when I was watching movies,I was glad when I found out that the headphone port has its own volume settings from the TV’s speakers volume settings.

But the location of the headphones port is in a bad place, since it’s location doesn’t work so well with coiled headphone cables. You need either a 3. 5mm male to female adapter or a headphone with a long straight cable or use a longer removable headphone cable.

After setting up the TV and using it for almost a week, I’m enjoying it, even with the minor issues I had.

I’ve been using this TV for a year now, mostly for gaming (Xbox Series X) and streaming apps. The Good: When this TV is working properly, the picture is pretty nice. Though this TV is not equipped with HDMI 2.

1, it does come with a nice array of features for the price point and size. The Bad: Buggy operating system, unresponsive inputs, garbage controller. I’m running this TV with my Xbox Series X in 1440p 120hz with HDR in most games.

For some reason, the TV just does not vibe well with the Xbox Series X. If I play a COD series game, this TV randomly goes into a “demo mode” or something (slowly flashes solid colors on the screen) mainly when navigating game menus.

I also have an issue where my TV will dim flash (Halo Infinite, Apex Legends) and sometimes dim itself indefinitely requiring a TV restart to correct. I also have a random issue when first booting my TV and Xbox Series X, going from the Roku main screen to my Xbox input and the screen just becomes black, though the sound still works.

The controller the TV comes with is absolute trash. When the controller works, the buttons are way too responsive to the slightest touch. You can literally just touch a button and it will register. I’ve had instances where I’ve got up and lightly tossed it on the couch and my TV would turn off or change input.

Also, possibly related to what I just said, the controller seems to consistently draw power, draining batteries super fast. Either that or the controller is just as buggy as the TV where it’s just randomly unresponsive unless I take the batteries out and put them back in.

Overall: This TV may be fine for someone who uses a simple cable box (though I’d recommend programming a better controller) but I would not recommend this TV to anyone who is looking for something reliable for their Xbox Series X.

I do not have much confidence this TV will last long. I am already looking into other brands as I complete this review.

This TV was fine for about 2 weeks. Then audio sync issues started no matter what I watch on it. Then I started researching and Roku forums are full of complaints about it. There are 25 pages of complaints.

There are bad reviews all over about the audio bugs on this TV (and the other 6 series sizes). There seems to be no fix for it. This has been going on with Roku/TCL TV’s for well over a year. I spent HOURS trying to adjust and correct this, both through my new Denon 650H receiver and through the TV and through Prime Video/Firestick settings.

There is no fix for it. the only possible fix I’ve seen is to completely disable all Roku by resetting and not connecting it to the internet and just using your own devices (Firestick, Streaming Box, DVD etc.

). This is really unacceptable. Half the reason I bought it was for the “cool” factor of the Roku built in to this TV and the high ratings of the Roku app. I could buy any TV but this one had what I wanted.

And in less than a month I was extremely unhappy with it. Reconsider your choice on purchasing this TV. Neither TCL nor Roku has offered any explanation or fix for this issue and it’s been happening to many customers since at least 2018.

The FINAL solution I found was to connect my Firestick to my Denon 650H receiver directly, as well as my media player box, and let the Denon process the sound directly instead of plugging devices into the TV and using CEC and the eArc HDMI 4 port of the TV.

These particular TV’s do NOT process the sound correctly, and you will get lag on ANY built-in channels on the Roku TV and anything running through the eArc connection. Doing what I did to resolve it will not be an option for the majority of people, as they are just running a sound bar or using the TV speakers.

I bought both things from Electronic Express. The service was very good and I could have returned the TV within the return period, but decided not to after finding the solution through using the Receiver.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ABOUT THE 6 SERIES TCL/ROKU TV. As the title said, PLEASE take my word for it and buy something else and save yourself the pain and headaches of owning a TV with perfect video but atrocious audio issues that have not been addressed by either Roku or TCL.

Been wanting to upgrade but loved my plasma and didn’t want to put up with the motion blur from newer TV’s. I did debate between this 5 series TCL and the 6 series because the 5 is only 60hz. However, my built in cabinet wasn’t wide enough for a 55.

so the decision was made for me, 50″ it is with the 5 series. I also looked at the Sam which costs easily twice but couldn’t justify the cost. Decided that it was time though. I had a Roku Ultra attached to the old one and decided to skip using it and go straight to the TCL with Roku built in.

First, Best Buy was super easy, literally ordered online, drove up in front of the store, checked in and the guy loaded it for me. Time at the store – less than 5 minutes and no loading woes. Nice job there! Got home and brought it inside, I was appreciative of the handles on the side of the box for sure.

Got it out and assembled the feet. Gently pulled off the tape protectors on the edges of the TV. Plugged the electric and ethernet in as well as the external antenna coax. There ya go, done. Hardest part was not liking the cheap remote.

Thankfully, I had purchased a Roku Voice Remote Pro already and easily paired it for a much nicer setup. I totally recommend this, it WILL make you enjoy the TV more. Out of the box the picture was really nice.

In fact, upgrading from the 42 to the 50, while didn’t sound like much in theory, I was a little surprised at the difference and it made my head a bit swimmy. The picture was so good, I didn’t miss my plasma like I thought I would.

Only tweak I did make was I changed a setting for smoother motion. I did not change any color settings or use IPQ, was very nice right out of the box. Sound is very good, no distortion. I also like using my remote with the headphones (again, get the better remote).

It is plenty loud in the room and I do not have a soundbar or other external speakers. Wired or Wireless setup is a breeze. Most everything else is too. Especially if you already had a Roku. Though, I swear the TV Roku menu is slower than my Ultra was.

Both were hard wired to a gig of download, so there were no changes in internet. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend, maybe even someone I didn’t like. The simple remote might be a plus for those remote and technology challenged in our lives, simply because it has so few buttons and the ones on there are straightforward.

I did a couple weeks of homework on various makes and models of televisions in the 50″ to 55″ mid-price range. I concluded that TCL’s Roku QLED was a good choice and it had the number of inputs I needed for my home setup.

I have only had the TCL running in the house for about a week but no obvious issues or setup complaints. I have had Roku in our house on other streaming devices so I was already familiar with the graphics.

(I was leaning toward Roku because of the ease of use for our household. ) Suggestions for others considering this TCL TV. 1) I chose to purchase a universal center stand and not have to install the included legs.

The included legs require a wide piece of furniture which did not fit my current living room setup. 2) I chose to purchase a Roku voice remote. The cost is minimal as the included remote control lacks the voice feature.

Very good decision as I enjoy the flexibility to control the TV. 3) I re-evaluated my current HDMI cables. I found I had a poor quality one in the mix and purchased a new one. After all the picture and sound for connected equipment are only as good as the cables.

4) I was surprised but TCL did include the VESA screws. My universal mount worked perfectly once I noticed the screws were already screwed into the VESA mounting holes on the back of the TV. (All I had to do was unscrew them and complete the mounting setup.

) I would purchase this TV without hesitation.

most of the reviews on this product were accurate. I will not talk about the complexity of changing the picture for each specific app or why it will often change to closed captioning when not requested – you can see that in other reviews.

But I will focus on is the picture. Overall, it is a decent 4K television for the money. There are not too many options in this specific size, so this is probably your best bet for the price. As a Roku TV it is also easy to use and to set up, especially since we already had an account.

However, the picture is not perfect and in some scenes I have noticed two specific problems that bother me. The first is that there will be distortion and strange blooming affects when the contrast is fairly significant.

You will see some slight halos and odd geometric patterns on walls in certain scenes that are simply a reflection of the cheap panel. Sometimes the colors are way over-saturated despite changing the settings to dampen it.

It is at these moments when I realize it is a cheap television. The speakers of course are meh, and it will sometimes “crash” unexpectedly requiring a reboot—not too often, luckily, but it happens. Overall, I still recommend it—just don’t go into this television thinking it’s top of the line.

It’s not.

I chose this TCL because it was a relatively inexpensive Roku based TV. I was familiar with the Roku interface which is wa-a-ay better than the Vizio Smart TV interface I have on another TV. This Roku TV has AirPlay/Cast capability, integrates the live TV channels with the free internet channels, and easily allows removing the subscription “apps” (Netflix, Disney+, etc) from the Home Screen.

Removing subscription apps is important because my TV is in a vacation home that is often occupied by friends and relatives–logging in with their own credentials is not an option (or at least not a good idea), so there is no need to present the subscription apps on the Home Screen.

Guests can always AirPlay/Cast from their phone if they want to view their personal streaming subscriptions. The TV comes with a Roku remote, pretty much the same one used by standalone Roku products.

I set up the TV so it defaults to the Live TV “app” when it is turned on and also removed all the other TV input options from the Home Screen. In addition to the live on-air channels, there are a gazillion free internet TV channels that show up in the Guide.

This is good, but the downside is that the only way to access any channel is by scrolling through the Guide (accessed by hitting the “left” arrow on the remote). The Roku remote does NOT have a number keypad on it, so you can’t jump to a particular channel.

(This is apparently an on-going criticism on Roku user forums). PS: This is a 4K TV so picture quality is actually quite good, especially for a relatively low-cost TV.

There are a few reasons I decided on this TV. For the $250 (on sale) it’s very nice to be able to watch 4K movies. I think it’s supposed to upgrade 1080p and regular DVDs too. I didn’t see any TVs smaller than 43″ that even do 4K.

Even though it’s 43″, it is very light so you can move it around. Just be careful not to press on the screen edges. The picture looks excellent to me. It’s very easy to get it looking right and peoples skin tones look pretty natural.

As far as sound, I use a separate system most of the time, so I really don’t care that much. It seems OK, but the way TVs are made now they don’t have enough room inside for really good speakers anyway.

The Pioneer 43″ 4k has better sound, maybe that is part of the reason it’s heavier. I didn’t even know Pioneer made TVs now. I saw the screen and it looked good. I wanted a lighter TV. The TCL weighs like 5 or 6 lbs.

less than the Pioneer. From what I know TCL has a good reputation for quality and lasting a while. I believe if the TV I bought lasts a long time I’ll be more than happy with it. So far, the Normal picture mode looks best to me with the dynamic contrast on low.

It seems like it looks better with the backlight at least on 90 and the brightness almost half. I like to stop adding to the regular brightness setting just before the blacks on the screen start getting grey.

I put it on the warm setting with the tint just barely on the red side. I like the gamma setting higher up because the colors look deeper. I don’t change it. I think the higher gamma settings are for a darker room, but I don’t care, LOL!! But hey, whatever works for you go for it! Your tastes may be totally different than mine.

Me and my three roommates bought this TV for our college apartment. We wanted to go big, and the 65-inch model turned out to be the perfect size for our viewing pleasure. For starters, the price is insanely hard to beat.

About a decade ago, a 50-inch 1080p TV would cost nearly one thousand dollars. The fact that you can get a 65-inch 4k TV for under five hundred dollars speaks volumes about the efficiency in which manufacturers produce TVs.

If you are looking for a large tv for a man cave or just a large living room, this one is the best budget option you’ll find. As for the picture, you need to look really hard to find any faults in the display.

The 4k Ultra HD does a great job with all types of 4k content. I will say dark movies during the day are not the best. There is a noticeable glare, making it hard to fully appreciate the dark content scenes.

That being said, the 4k and the HDR work very well together. Colors pop and there Is not a bad seat in the house. Speaking of, the viewing angles of the TV are amazing. We have people over often, but a packed crowd does not diminish the viewing experience for anyone involved.

Our place is now the official football watching spot amongst our friends. I sit about 15 feet from the TV in the most slouched position possible. I never miss a thing or even think about squinting. Even in the kitchen, which is about 30 feet away, I can catch the action and not miss a thing.

The user interface is solid. I see Roku as the simplest UI in the TV software market. They lack innovation, but it is so straightforward that anyone can easily navigate through it. I prefer Google TV or Amazon Firestick as TV operating systems.

It’s important to mention that there is a similar TCL model to this TV that has Google TV instead of Roku as its operating systems. The models are both 65-inch 4k UHD. They are the same price but the bezels on the Roku model are much thinner than the Google TV model.

In my opinion that is a big difference and not worth the superior operating system. Thin bezels make the TV look more expensive than it is. The TV is great for watching sports. Touchdowns never looked so good.

This is exactly what I envisioned when thinking about purchasing a large TV. It just makes me think of watching the game on the ‘big screen’. It is also great for video games. I have my PlayStation hooked up and have a great time playing games like Red Dead Redemption 2 on a 65-inch screen.

The latency is unnoticeable so playing competitive games is no problem. The best game to play on the screen is Super Smash Bros with 8 people. This TV was the perfect purchase for me and my friends because of its great viewing experience and its ability to bring people to our crib.

This Hisense TV mainboard lasted 3 years with only occasional usage. I replaced the mainboard from an internet vendor for $75, including a two-year part warranty. The mainboard fixed the TV like new again.

The 50″ TV cost about $300 in 2018, and another $75 in 2021. Our 2007 50″ Zenith, which is actually a relabeled LG, is fourteen years old and still working as new. It is not 4K and needs a Roku device to have all the streaming features of the Hisense.

The Zenith/LG cost us $1000, or $71. 43 per year to own. The 50R6E cost $300 and lasted less than three years, so it cost $100 a year. With a two-year warranty on the replacement parts, I will expect it to last another 2 years, so the TV and the repair parts over five years is $75 per year.

That’s $6. 25 per month for 60 months. In comparison, we also own a 2007 Gateway computer eMachine that works as new, but it is a P4 with a maximum of 2GB DDR2. It does everything it always has but has been superseded by seven generations of computer electronics at a substantial cost per year.

My recommendation remains as it always has been. Never spend a lot of money on technology, because the product features will change so rapidly. Gordon Moore’s Law states that we can expect the speed and capability of our computers to increase every couple of years, and we will pay less for them.

This TV appears to be a genuine bargain in consumer electonics.

We bought this because it was so inexpensive at Costco and thought we might just have it as a bedroom TV that we rarely watch. We couldn’t find a TV for our family room that we wanted. We have owned expensive TVs and all of them have sound issues* or that ambient light detection which never works well, and stays on even when you turn it off.

So we just put this in our living room as a stop gap. It’s been excellent. None of the picture issues you get with more expensive TVs that are over-engineered and an easy to use interface. *Having sound issues? Get speakers or bar AND check your sound settings, like TruVolume.

If you’re considering this TV but worried about sound, look up “why flat screens need a sound bar” bc that’s a pretty common thing. We needed speakers/bar for far more expensive TVs that promise excellent sound.

I bought this TV for Christmas in 2020. It’s March 1st, 2022, the TV is a little over a year old. Last night it stopped in the middle of streaming show and turned off, and then started blinking on and off over and over.

I tried power cycling it several times, hitting the reset button in the back, unplugged all devices around it… ie Amazon echo…tablet. , unplugged the fire stick from the back of the TV and from the wall completely.

Still doing the same thing. I’ve watched a dozen YouTube videos and done everything suggested still blinking on and off. Doesn’t stay on long enough to get into any menus or settings. The last video I watched trying to repair it, the guy says if none of this works it might be time to buy yourself a new TV.

So if you want to spend 360-400 on something that will break in about a year…. This is the TV for you.

This tv makes a first good impression out of the box. The screen quality is amazing, the darks are exceptional even though it’s not an OLED. HDR looks good and 4K is also amazingly clear. While yes, this doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of a more expensive TV (HDMI 2.

1 ports in particular), this will more than get the job done. To be honest, I really doubt many games will even take advantage of those features so as far as my money is concerned. Even if you don’t play games and are only using this TV for streaming content like Netflix, it’s more than worth it.

The Roku interface is so snappy and it’s just overall such a joy to use this thing. In my opinion, this TV is a great buy for someone looking for amazing image quality at a low price.

This is the perfect TV for a tight budget. It has all the features you need, and pairs well with my phone too. The speakers are so-so, you would enjoy more with a sound bar. The brightness is not mind blowing but does the job in my large living room which gets plenty natural light.

This tv is not great for a ‘smart’ tv. First of all, there are very limited streaming services that are loaded. You can’t add any new ones. Second of all, it disconnects from the internet all the time and is very difficult to get it to reconnect (and it’s not my internet connection, because this is the only device in my house that does this).

Third, should you have problems and need to contact customer service, they aren’t really interested in helping you and the only solution is to do a factory reset, which means logging back in, entering passcodes, trying to reconnect to the internet again.

I would not purchase this tv again if I needed to replace it. I may replace it soon just to have something that functions the way it should.

I bought this TV from Target right after Thanksgiving. By Mid January the picture had completely gone out. The display showed nothing but black and blue lines. We tried all the fixes, called the cable company.

Used new HDMI cables, tried different ports, re booted and even re set to factory settings. Nothing. Target is no help, leaning on their 30 day return policy. Element was no help either. Roku takes no responsibility for the TV.

I know the lure of low price, but in this case you will be throwing this TV in the dumpster in the first year, just like we did. Spend a few more bucks or definitely buy the extended warranty. You will need it.

This review is for the TCL 43″ Roku TV 43S455 This is an excellent upgrade from my 1st gen (32″ Vizio 720p lcd TV). The slim border allows a much larger viewable screen with about the same size TV box that this one replaces.

I chose this TV because of the Roku system which I’ve been familiar with for many years. I do not have cable or satellite, only antenna and streaming. I really like how the on-screen menu incorporates the antenna and streaming guides seamlessly together.

The older TV setup was very cumbersome to switch back and forth between the two. I love the picture quality! It is excellent! The sound quality is good, but It works better with my old Vizio sound bar.

I was able to reprogram my old cheapie remote control (model GE CL4 7252) to work with reasonably well this TV. The only thing missing is the ability to type in a channel that has a decimal point, which is mainly the over-the-air ones.

The other channels can be directly changed to by using the number pad. The remote that comes with the TV is just a Roku remote without a number pad. No biggie, but its worth trying to get your old remote to work if you can.

I purchased this TV about two weeks ago and I am very happy that I did.

BestBuy requested this review, so I am submitting it. My only criteria for this TV (to replace an existing one) was 4K and an appropriate size. This 43″ TCL Model 43S455 meets those criteria. I think the picture and sound quality are great — everything I expected.

However, I am disappointed, and it is mostly my fault. Based on looking at a half dozen TVs on websites over a couple of months, I knew that any modern 4K TV would be “smart” and that the remote control would emphasize streaming, not direct access to broadcast TV channels.

That meant no number keys on the remote control. I also determined that inexpensive “universal” remote controls with number buttons are widely available for every brand of TV, including TCL. However, my research did not reveal that NO such remote control that I can find currently supports this >>2022 TCL Roku<< TV.

I purchased (and returned) two that said they worked on all TCL TVs, but they did not operate this TV. I then researched in detail at least a dozen more. In that research, I found NO mention or information on this specific Model 43S455 TV.

The couple of reviews of a remote control that mentioned >>TCL Roku<< said the number keys did not work. The only fault I can cite for TCL as a manufacturer is that I find absolutely no documentation, user manual, technical specs, or anything else online about this Model 43S455 other than the inadequate "Let's get started" pamphlet packed in the box with the TV, I found nothing about this TV on Youtube.

I can only hope that TCL — or someone — publishes online info about a working remote control for this 2022 model in the near future. If you want a streaming Roku TV, you might like this one very well.

I don’t want that, and I cannot recommend this TV to anyone like myself who wants to select broadcast TV channels with number buttons.

We strongly suggest buying the 3 year protection plan since regardless of the model 10-15% of these types of TVs have problems. We now surmise that it has something to do with the ongoing chip shortage, Asian manufacturing and perhaps rushing it in the distribution channel.

Also, we noticed that of the six boxes on the store shelf only two looked like they had not been a throwing toy in a primates’ cage. We read the reviews by those who had problems and decided that since this one was made in June 2021 then maybe the kinks were ironed out by 10/25/2021 which is our purchase date.

By the same evening, after about two hours and with the help of ROKU support online and our cable provider to get our DVR box remote to sync, we got it operating correctly and thought the picture and all features were very good to excellent when we turned out the lights.

The “fun” began the next morning. The first time we turned it on we could get the TV channels but none of the streaming services. Eventually we did a “power restart” as directed by the online troubleshooting accessed through our home PC.

It returned to normal. The second time we turned it on everything worked except that there was NO AUDIO. Eventually we checked the audio settings and found that it had changed without us doing anything.

So, we put it back on “TV Speakers”. It is now operational EXCEPT that my wife’s Spotify will not work. The solution is supposed to be remove the app, do a power restart and then put that App back on.

We are not going to do that until we see what happens over the next few days in the event that more corrections are needed. We fear that in getting one service back might result in a myriad of other problems.

We are fearful that more frustrating obstacles will arise. If they do then we are going to use the WMT 30 day return policy. We want to avoid dealing with the manufacturer by using the warranty. Some buyers have claimed that they have not had good customer service from most of the manufacturers of these types of TVs.

Lot of time over the past 20 hours trying to get a $178 tax protection plan to give us what we paid to have. For the older generation, judging by many reviews of similar merchandise, we are far from the time of paying, plugging and playing.

The picture’s color isn’t very vibrant. The top left corner of the tv screen on our tv is darker than the rest of the tv’s screen. Channels like Pluto and Peacock close out randomly. It turns them off and goes to the home screen in the middle of a show.

This happens the most frequently with Pluto. I have an iView (PVR) that you can watch and record live tv with. It’s hooked to the tv. When I press the 1 button on the iView’s remote, the tv starts powering off.

That glitch is very annoying. When I pick the leveling option for the sound setting on the tv, it will work temporarily. However, the sound stops working. It does work better than the TCL tv, but it is kind of glitchy.

I like that I have a tv. The tv doesn’t hold memory. I watch channels and when I come back to watch “recent” channels it says I don’t have any recent channels, as if I hadn’t watched tv at all. I add my favorite channels.

I pull them up for a couple of days then come back days later and I have no favorite channels added. When you’re watching a movie make sure you turn the volume down or mute it when commercials come on or the teeny, tiny speakers will blow your eardrums out.

Other than that it’s a tv. I was gonna get better speakers but I think I’ll just wait and get a better tv. as soon as possible. I’m happy others are happy with this tv but I’m not.

Bought this TV 2 weeks back. Few things that did not work well. 1) Remote is no so responsive had to download Roku remote app. 2) Pic quality is poor, brightness/color/contrast is very little even when 100% tried various ratio of color/brightness/contrast.

I had sharp Roku tv when I compare the brightness/color/sharpness it like 60% of what I had. 3) Called Phillip customer service as no wireless device are listed but no use same standard response, it does not guarantee to connect to all Bluetooth device ,when I say that my earlier Roku tv was able to connect to Sony sound bar , he told only Roku Bluetooth speaker will connect.

His justification was that Sony does not guarantee to connect to all Bluetooth device. I appears that Philip is not interested in fixing any of the problem, they told if you do not like return it. Terribly disappointed with this purchase as well as with Phillip customer service.

Actually a really great TV for the price. I reccomend picking it up yourself instead of ordering for pick up or delivery because Sams Club is not trustworthy on that front. Just walk in and get the TV yourself, seriously.

– 4k, HDR, 120 refresh rate + roku. Switch to gaming mode for zero input lag if you’re using it as a monitor. Roku is worth it, you know it will actually be updated in the future rather than a random “smart OS” that will stop getting updates within the next 5 years.

Very mobile and smart speaker friendly, fluid transitions between casting screens and using our phones as a remote. Supports HDMI ARC if you’re setting up a soundbar. Great TV, just avoid relying on Sams Club to get it, lol.

Bought a different “smart” tv first but it’s operation was glitchy within hours of setup and only got worse the next day. Took it back and bought this one and have not been sorry. The only thing that could be better is the way you have to scroll through the guide to change channels on broadcast tv.

If yo are in the middle of the live tv menu you have to scroll forever to get to your local broadcast channels. Doesn’t have voice on supplied remote but you can do that with the phone app. Saying “channel 6.

1 will not change the channel either you have to use the cumbersome scroll through the guide. That is the ONLY negative I have found. And the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars.

It wasn’t that I disliked it, I didn’t order two smart TV’S. I’ve called Walmart. com and FedEx to send one back to the store and put my money back in bank. I can’t get no help. This isn’t the first time Walmart.

Com has ordered two items on me. I’m tired of going through this. I don’t understand why I don’t have the option to cancel one of them. So I have to wait on FedEx truck to take the other one back. I’m going to have to quit using this app if they can’t get my order correct.

The TV is a 3/5 as TVs go. Sound is meh, picture is decent. The ad I looked at featuring the TV said it was a 4K tv but it is just 1080–very different and a bummer surprise to see. The mounting platform is actually VESA 400×200 not 200×200 as listed.

I had to buy and install a new mounting stand because of that. Good TV for a bedroom. The remote is so simple (in a good way); my wife can’t figure out our other TV remotes but this one she can use just fine.

I have purchased a total of 8 Roku’s for myself and my family members over the years so you know we have been big fans of Roku right from the start. This 40″ Roku is definitely the best one yet. Great size for the bedroom or living room.

The set up has really improved and basically sets itself up. Using your phone as a remote is great when it is only one person using it but when you have company staying in your room you probably don’t want them to have your phone.

You need the normal remote and this Roku gives you both – this was a strong selling point for me. Roku keeps adding more and more stations and exciting streaming devices & sound bars. With hundreds if free channels and quick access to all your favorites: Netflix, Prime and Crave.

My first Roku was my best investment and I loved it then and love it even more now. This was a gift for my daughter but I will definitely be getting one of these for myself.

Good money spent for the quality of image. Very low power consumption. Sound very acceptable. Easy to install. Overall a good HD TV for a little more than 300$.

ROKU is an excellent platform for streaming content, and this RCA Roku TV has done it right. Very easy setup and includes all my favorite apps right on the Home screen and remote control, out of the box.

I purchased this TV on sale from Target during Black Friday 2021. For the price, the TV is an excellent value. The TV was packaged well, with no issues noted during my unboxing. I mounted the TV, but noticed the included feet were a solid metal with nice matte coating.

They looked sleek and should serve you well should you choose not to mount your TV. The picture quality is good, but not great. Viewing the TV from the side, the edges appear a little washed out with a white glow event with the backlight setting at its lowest.

The TV looks best when viewed head on. There was also a small bright spot in part of my screen, which the manual acknowledges as a possibility and not a defect. It is virtually unnoticeable unless the area of the picture is black.

Standard picture settings can be adjusted including, contrast, sharpness, brightness, and color. The sound quality is surprisingly good, and depending on the room the TV is used in, may not require an additional soundbar.

The inclusion of Roku is the main reason I purchased the TV. In my opinion Roku offer the best user interface and streaming capabilities. I am glad to that Element partnered with them for this build.

So far, I have not had any issues with the TV and have enjoyed using it. I am happy with my purchase.

I bought this TV on a deep sale and use it as a 4K PC monitor for productivity. The screen real-estate is phenomenal, of course. What was a pleasant surprise was the solid black levels, very minimal edge backlight bleed, and minimal blooming around bright objects.

Both my laptop and desktop drive this at 4K 60 Hz over HDMI without issue. And I’m not even using great HDMI cables. The response latency is acceptable for productivity work, though I’d hesitate using it for gaming.

No dead or stuck pixels noted after running through primary color and black/white tests. Very sharp. Viewing angle is good for a monitor, but you’ll notice fading quickly if off-axis (worse above and below than side-to-side).

The remote is good and responsive – Smart Roku TV features are fairly snappy and wired ethernet is a plus. Going on about 3 weeks. I can’t pick many faults at all with this TV for my intended use! If I had to pick one thing, the HDR experience is underwhelming.

In fact, I didn’t notice or expect this to have HDR. But otherwise colors are rich and blacks are deep, text is sharp and there is no jitter or flicker when used as a monitor. I easily recommend this TV, especially if you find it on sale.

This is my 2nd Element TV. I had the other one for about 10 years. I had a good picture. One day recently while watching TV I heard a pop when the screen went black. That was it as it was dead. I thought it should have lasted a few more years.

Anyway, I added a sound bar to the old TV because the speakers on the old TV were horrible. I plugged the sound bar in the old Element TV into the 2 – RCA female plugs on that TV. The new Element did not have the RCA option for a sound bar.

I had to buy an adapter to use the sound bar. I realize that technology changes, but maybe Element could have waited another 5 or so years before discontinuing to put the female RCA plugs on their TVs.

Just Saying. The speakers are better on the new TV, but in my opinion still needs a sound bar. As far as the Roku, I do not like the fact that what ever I was watching when I turned the TV off does not come back to the same place (Satellite TV, Chromecast, Netflix, Hulu, etc.

) when it is turned back on. Maybe you could put an option in the setting to let it come back to the same place it was when the TV was turned off. It is annoying to have to go back and select the option of how & what I want to watch every time I turn the TV on.

What I liked about this TV set initially it’s size at 40″ inches diagonally. What I would like to warn possible buyers of is the Android OS. This is not a fast loading or responsive operating system.

My beard grew another inch just waiting for it to update to current software version during initial setup. I am hard wired via CAT6 Ethernet cable. The TV will also work wirelessly. I bought it as a replacement for my elderly mother for whom I am a caretaker.

She has problems with seeing the remote control buttons so I can cast programming when I am on my own Wi-Fi network from one of my Samsung cell phones. Using GOGLE TV app your phone can become a remote control.

I also like that she can just tell the TV, Hey GOOGLE find Deal or No Deal, or Price Is Right, etc. It has built in Chromecast/GOOGLE Assitant and a TCL GOOGLE-CENTRIC remote control with fairly simple and intuitive functions.

The remote allows you to push a button and tell/ask GOOGLE what you want. What I tend to dislike is that the remote control app function for Android Phones is not able to work remotely as in away from home from my cell phone.

I also need to reiterate that the tv is slow to respond to input from both the O. E. M remote that it comes with as well as with my phone. Picture quality is good and the tv will upscale 720P broadcast to higher quality.

These TCL TV’s are available in 4K if you want it for a bit more money. As a tv for a kids room, a guest or spare room this was quite a bargain at $229. 00. Compared to the ROKU OS I would choose ROKU.

Found out way too late that this TV OS does not support SPECTRUM TV app. I was trying to get rid of the cable box but no luck. So the question is would I recommend this TV to others? I probably would not if you are not patient.

The Android OS is not as versatile as I thought it should be.

I have three TCL TV’s that replaced other televisions (55″ Sony, 55″ Panasonic and a 32″ Visio) in various rooms in the house. They are all internet connected and are used for streaming. The Visio’s (have had two 32″) are real weak in the internet connectivity department and I had many issues with web streaming dropping off when not next to the router, even with extenders.

My TCL TV’s completely cleared that issue up and I have no problems connecting and staying connected. My TCL’s are all ROKU platform streaming, which I prefer. My bedroom and RV are 32″ TCL’s and my Livingroom television is a 55″.

Be aware, some ROKU platform TCL TV’s have had issues and develope a life of their own. I had to return my Family room 55″ TCL ROKU as a result and wound up with a Samsung 55″. My Livingroom 55″ TCL was less expensive than my Family Room Samsung 55″ by several hundred dollars but is every bit as good in the function, picture and sound department as the more expensive Samsung.

Both are great TV’s but the TCL was a much better value for the creature features that you got. Sound quality is about what you would expect for a TV of this size. I use sound bars with sub woofers on all but my bedroom televisions I had a 40″ TCL in an RV I purchased in 2017.

I thought it would be a cheapo because RV manufacturers typically put the cheapest electronics they can find in their products for cost savings. I was pleasantly surprised with the television selection.

I upgraded my RV in 2021 (same manufacturer) and it also had a TCL of the 32″ variety. It’s been trouble free and connects well with my DISH tailgater and campground cable tv. IMPO, the TCL brand would be a welcome, reasonably priced, well appointed addition to any room in anyones home home or RV.

Whatever you do skip buying TCL brand TV’s. Like this TV @ a great price I couldn’t pass up the deal nor could I really afford the screen size of anything over 43 inches. I knew if anything I bought I was going to have to settle for less through poorer picture, sound and etc.

I had already accepted that as my price being so great terms so to speak. 3 months and 5 days after in after my purchase my TV lost sound first, 15 minutes further into that same hour I lost visual and after the tv lost power and I have never been able to get power back on.

I didn’t purchase the protection coverage because I couldn’t afford the add on. I am a single mother of 3 children on a budget. I called the company I bought it from and then the company who makes the tvs and found no one with whom could offer me any recommendations on what I could do from here.

In the days of the internet customers are the lowest on the toedum poll. I am the loyalist of customers a repeat lifetime customer if treated with human decency and to be talked as if you have any amount of vague interest in what I am calling in about.

Corporations moving forward may need to rethink how they do business from ground up and consider the factor of operating a business with even just the smallest sprinkle of decency and respect. I miss the days when customers were a valued equation not just a considered foregone conclusion.

(I still have the tv in my master bedroom closet in original box with all original paperwork , manuals, remote. I’m actually just mentioning this in the sincere hopes.

Very new so not much to say. Nice picture and many options. The price was decent for the size. Able to connect many things to it. Only bad thing is, it’s interface where you need to remotely type in things are old school.

At this time in tech, you think it would be more programmable. Easier than typing every letter.

Sure it’s not a superstar but at the clear out price couldn’t be passed up. My sharp Roku died for the second time in 4 years so this one was available with no wait and about what repairs would be. Didn’t have to learn a new system.

Picture when tuned in is fine. Seems to be better at off center views than the sharp was.

This tv is large and has a great picture and sound. We use the Roku and enjoy the many advantages of not having to purchase actual cable tv service. We have internet and use it for homeschooling also! No more headaches looking at a small computer screen!.

First off I’ll say that I’ve owned many different TVs in many different price ranges over the years. With that said I’ve had some good ones and bad ones. This tv was purchased to go in my stepdaughter’s bedroom because the 2 year old Samsung we had for her was starting to smell like an electrical fire.

I was happy to realize this JVC has metal construction in the frame where it really matters, especially where the feet attach and where the inputs and circuitboard are on the back. The picture quality is really pretty good out the box and after I tweaked it a little it got even better.

Of course it doesn’t make me want to get rid of my personal Oled and Plasma sets but this is a fantastic TV for a bedroom or really if you’re not ocd like me I’m sure it would do fine as a main TV. The sound is amazing on this model.

I’m hearing impaired and have no issues hearing it even on very low settings which indicates quality speakers with a decent bit of watts pushing them. The tv itself and remote are so intuitive and very user friendly.

I was even impressed with how even the backlighting is on mine, only a tiny bit dim in the corners and you really have to look for it. Much. Much better overall tv than the Samsung’s in this price range.

I think Samsung has gotten too big for their britches and is pumping out junk nowadays and selling based on their previous track record. This tv makes us happy and our kid loves it! The quick buttons for Hulu, Netflix, Disney and Sling right on the remote are sweet too.

We’re going to hook a few games up to it this summer and I expect it to work great. It even has a game mode. Bottom line. If you’re just the average person (not a tv enthusiast) and want a well built tv that looks and sounds great plus is super user friendly AND AFFORDABLE this could be your dream tv.

Don’t let the name JVC fool you. It may not be the same quality product you may be accustomed to. Since 2011, JVC televisions for North America have been manufactured under the license of JVC Kenwood by Amtran Video, a unit of the giant Taiwanese contract-television manufacturer, Amtran.

Amtran also makes Vizio televisions. With this in mind, the only complaints or dislikes about this television I have is with the remote. It isn’t a standard remote you would expect to come with a television.

It is a small and simple Roku remote. Additionally, should you misplace the remote, there are no on/off and channel up/down buttons on the television. So, unless you have a smartphone and have downloaded one of the many available apps for a Roku based television, you will be looking at a dark screen.

My other complaint/dislike is the sound quality. There is no quality to the sound that comes from this television. The speakers are apparently very small and are unable to produce quality sound. However, there is some good news.

The television accepts external sound systems, which I think you will want to consider adding if you are thinking about purchasing this television.

Television broke in a little over one year of light use. Still in warranty but JVC support is the worst ever. Sent photos, receipts, more photos, photos of official label, a short video of the television when it was on and how it had lines across 1/3 of the screen, credit card statement with purchase, original receipt and still wasn’t enough for this disreputable company.

I have never had a problem with a television in more than 30 years, I can’t think of a brand we haven’t used. JVC is garbage and they don’t stand behind their garbage. If you want problems buy a JVC.

I ordered the RCA 40 inch with Roku on the Black Friday Sale and just as they quoted me I had it before Christmas, their shipping was excellent, and the TV was hooked up and working in 30 minutes. The picture is second to none and the Roku is a simple to get into and the show titles are endless.

Very happy with my purchase and am thinking of purchasing another one. These people at Vision are the best! They have what the customers want and at the best prices! thankyou Vision Staff.

I finally am joining this generation of new TV’s. I love this TV. I love that I can use this tv using my cell phones hotspot. I don’t have any connectivity issues. I have an unlimited data plan on my phone so this is not an issue for me.

I don’t subscribe to traditional cable or screening services. So I am very happy with how this tv interacts with my phone service. I Also have used the Miracast function with my cell also. Once again connectivity and displays are great either way.

Just as previous reviews have stated the set up was so easy. I am seriously considering getting a second one for another room. Other reviews commented on issues with the sound. I have don’t have issues and don’t feel a need to buy a sound bar or any other additional sound options.

I highly recommend this tv.

We bought this tv for my 83 year old mom who LOVES to watch sports and is good with navigating streaming. My husband and I already had a Series 4 TCL and liked it a lot. I ordered this TCL Series 6 tv online from Walmart (on sale) and it was delivered to my mom’s home within a week.

The packing was great and the tv was in perfect condition. We had to order online since the tv was not available at the closest Walmart which is 45 miles away. Since it was home delivery, I wanted to ensure that if there was damage during shipping that we could take the tv back to the Walmart store rather than having to ship it back to the vendor.

We could return it to the store, if needed, so I felt more comfortable ordering it and having it shipped to her home. Shipping and delivery were great and much faster than expected (i. e. less than a week).

This TCL Series 6 tv replaced a 6 year old Samsung tv and the difference in picture quality is amazing. We can’t believe how awesome the picture is. We ordered the 55″ and 2 people should lift it. Installation on an already existing wall bracket was quick and and setup was also quick and easy.

The tv walked us through the steps (i. e. pair remote, sign on to wifi, and then into apps). My mom gave her old tv to her brother who has a dish and both she and I didn’t think that the picture quality on the old tv was as good at his house.

I checked his tv settings and his signal was set at 480 mega pixels (which is pretty bad these days). I really like the Roku set up as even on our older TVs, the picture was enhanced to 1080 mega pixels and gave those TVs new life.

My mom has a great internet service so I wasn’t concerned about getting a super tv and not having a great picture from streaming. However, from everything that I’ve read, the tv can only do as good as the signal coming into it so I would also check the signal quality (especially if you don’t have a high speed internet service) that will go to the tv as well.

Someone could order a great tv, but might not have the signal strength to handle it. I really love the Roku setup as it has been easy and the picture quality on her new TCL Series 6 tv is awesome!!!.

Just bought this TV. Never heard of this brand but I’m highly impressed with it. Initially I was disappointed because the remote was very unresponsive. It almost became an immediate deal breaker and I was tempted to return the TV.

But I accidentally discovered a fix that makes the remote highly responsive and snappy. You MUST turn off “Device connect. ” Device connect being enabled allows you to pair your remote with Roku Voice Remote and Roku speaker.

It allows you to screen mirror from other devices. This being enabled make the TV and/or both the TV and remote sluggish and unresponsive. Disabling this feature will instantly cause your remote to be responsive as it should be, especially at this price point.

My guess is that the remote is not longer having interference or connectivity issues caused by constant signal of some sort. At any rate, to disable this feature go to System > Advanced system settings > Device Connect > Disable “Device connect”.

I also recommend disabling the following, if enabled (all found in System settings or a sub-category in System settings): – Control by mobile apps – Control other devices (CEC) – disable all things listed – Fast TV start – Auto power savings One thing about TV’s with such great picture quality as these is that they come with what is known as a “Soap Opera Effect” out of the box.

This is great for sports, news and other similar content, but it can make watching movies, commercials a terrible viewing experience. This is because it affects the way pixels are interpreted and displayed on the TV.

It removes blur, and other effects that were intended for the content. And instead of a cinematic look, it’ll look like behind the scene footage or soap opera’ish. To fix this, while watching TV press * on your remote to open the TV Settings.

Then, go to Picture Settings > Picture Mode and choose “Movie. ” This will make your movies, TV shows, commercials and more look like the creators intended (and as you expected). As well, you may or may not want to adjust the Color temperature (mine is set to Normal) and other settings.

Color temperature is the only setting I’ve found to be worth changing (for me). When watching Sports you may want to change the Picture Mode as well, as this makes action visible, removes blur, increases contrast, and allows you to see all of the action in great quality.

Sports (and even concerts) are mostly live, and this can provide an immersive experience. Again, a great TV. Hope these tips help! Enjoy!.

I received this tv as a Christmas gift. Initially, I was pretty excited to use the tv as it has the Roku streaming feature. After setting it up and using for approximately 2 months, I find it frustrating to use as the tv performs inconsistently and has a mind of its own.

The remote control freezes constantly and when it does work, I have to be parked 8′ from the tv infra red sensor on the front/bottom of the tv panel. Even when I stand directly in front of the tv and point the remote forward, it still works inconsistently.

I checked the remote batteries that came with the tv and they are fine so it is either the remote or the sensor on the tv. The live tv is a nice feature but it would be nice if one could enter the tv channel number on the remote as it is so slow to press the up/ down arrows.

The remote does not have numbers to punch in the channel numbers and it does not have the voice command feature. Since, it is a gift, I couldn’t ask for the receipt. I do not recommend this brand/ model 32”tv.

Would not recommend. It was fine for the first few weeks, maybe a couple of months. But then it started basically having a mind of its own. One moment the remote won’t let you scroll forward and then the next it’s speeding through Netflix out of control.

Apps constantly freeze and reboot themselves mid-video. The only way to stop the annoying stuff is to delete and redownload each individual app. But that only solves it for a little while. I’ve tried ever reboot and updated tip I can find and nothing has worked.

It was a gift and I’m too broke to buy a new one so I’m stuck with it.

It’s complete junk. Bought to mount in the bedroom of our RV and when pulling from the mount away from the wall, the whole tv came off the back. Now there is a screw that won’t go back in so it’s pretty much useless and Target won’t exchange it.

Stuck dealing with the manufacturer. Even if they can replace it, we won’t use it. It’s cheaply made and the back of the tv collapsed in when trying to get the screw back in with very little pressure.

It’s actually laughable how flimsy this tv is. Next tv purchase won’t be made at Target because they don’t stand behind their products. So sad.

To start with, I am only giving it 4 starts instead of 5 because there are some streaming services not supported, and the brightness settings could use some work. If you are watching a movie that has dark scenes in a room with little to no light, it can be a difficult to to see the whole picture.

That is also with the brightness set on the maximum. Having an adjustment would be better than just using 5 presets. That being said, this had been an excellent TV so far. I also must give some praise for the quality of the remote app for mobile devices.

Great job with the development there. I would recommend this TV to friends and family. The customizable background,screensaver, and menu sounds are a nice touch as well.

Outstanding value at $299, which is what I paid for at Target. And with a 2 year manufacturer’s warranty, you’re protected if you’ve got a lemon. But my set works fine. Use this with a quality AC power conditioner & you will get comparable picture quality that rivals the 4K offerings of Samsung & LG.

Only thing not so great is the built in audio. No bass & heft to the sound. So you’ll need a home theater system to truly get an immersive movie experience. The Roku interface works just like like the standalone Roku streaming devices, which is a good thing.

Get this at $299. At higher prices, give more careful attention to what other brands offer compared to the Elemenf.
