Best Day To Dumpster Dive (2023 Updated)

These wings came with my Transpac XT. When hooked up to the Transpac, for which I believe they were made, the wing worked very well. However, even then there were some issues, as the grommets on the wing and the holes on the Transpac did not line up exactly, so only one screw could be used to secure the wing.

These do not work so well on a generic backplate or even the Transplate. Diverite made these wing with the “cross” pattern attachment point to the BP. The idea was to allow it to be paired to as many type of BPs out there as possible without an STA, as different BPs have different locations where they allow the cam bands to go through the BP.

In practice, it doesn’t work well. The “cross” member lacks the rigidity needed in a wing, and it tends to flop around too much, v. s. say a Halcyon or HOG wing with a solid panel. The inflator hose is also too long, such that it is difficult to secure it neatly to the BCD.

When swimming in trim very near the bottom of the sea, it will dangle and touch corals. I also don’t like the pull dump function via the inflator hose. It could be dangerous if for any reason your (too long) inflator hose gets lodged on something and you swim forwards and it dumps all the air in your wing.

However, the function can be easily removed by removing the power inflator and unhooking the string from the pin. Lastly, I do not like how the power inflator is attached to the corrugated hose. DiveRite used a long thin screw and a nut, with a plastic cover over the screw.

The cover is easily lost and then the screw becomes a hazard that could puncture your wing, because it is sharp. However, the build quality and materials used in this wing is very good.

Bought this wing to use on my JJ CCR as the stock wing is rather large. VEry well built but it is overkill for my needs. Wasn’t to sure on this wing but figured I would give it a shot, not very fond of bungee, but I like the use of the superfabric.

Well I did two dives with it and all I can say is this wing is tiny with the bungee. It folds it in on itself so access to all valves, etc is super easy. I was pleasantly surprised when I blew the wing up with the bungee in place and pulled the dump valve it did not completely deflate the wing like most bungee’d wings do.

This just folded the material in on itself and dumped only a a portion of the wing. Granted it is not like a typical hog wing, but this is ccr, we tend to use our Drysuits more for buoyancy anyways. The giant cut out sections make this wing ideal for hose routing, and allows sediment/chunks of paint(wrecks)/etc to be easily washed from the unit, without dismantling the kit.

Two dives in and I can tell you right now this ccr wing is a winner!!.

It fits. Feels good. Great conversation starter. Projects a positive message of hope. It’s like finger blasting your least favorite politician on live tv while they cry. T shirt does seem quality. Graphics could be more vibrant.

Hopefully it washes well and lasts long.

The fit was good. Service was fast. The material was comfortable and seems like good quality. The design was a little off center on the front of the shirt but not very noticeable which is pretty much my only complaint.

Love the t-shirts from The Chive. Always on point and super soft, perfect sizing. My beef? Note that came with the shirt said to wash it first (of course) and that the inks used were natural. Well, after it came out of the wash (as directed) about 1/2 the ink has faded out.

The printing can still be seen but it just looks like it is many years old and faded.

Good thickness of plastic. Two access points for waste the water hose. One on the side and one on the top. Solid construction.

Good product at a good price just what I’ve been looking for and practical as well.

Very happy with this product. I haven’t actually used it yet but it should make emptying the motorhome waste much easier.

Bought and used for my daughter’s 12th birthday (Pool party). Kids loved them and had a blast. Only negative I could even say ( not a deal breaker) is the rings bend and twisted easily; kids weren’t a fan.

But in the long run, they got the job done. I would definitely buy again!.

These were a huge hit with my 4 year old who just learned to dive underwater to retrieve objects. Less heavy than the hard sticks and rings so they hurt less if they accidentally hit someone.

Typical Dive Rite product in very good quality! I bought this Harnes again for the Alu Back Plate for the reason, the assembly is very easy and it is a comfort in strong waves to open the buckles and remove the equipment.

Can this urine recommend anyone who just does not want to do any more possible contortions or for whatever reason can not.

I dive a Halcyon BC and really love it for doing all sorts of diving. I travel everywhere with this system. I wanted to be able to be able to get it on and off easier. I have found dive Rite’s harness system converted easily to my Halycon back plate.

I noticed on the first dive no difference in diving with this harness, however on the boat and shore it was a dream for getting the BC on and off.

I recently purchase the Scream If You Hate Gravity glasses and I have not been impressed. Mainly its due to the lens portion of the glasses. The frames are great and fit well, but after a second pair being sent to me due to the first pair scratching after using a microfiber cloth as it suggests, I then used the provided glasses cloth case that is provided and the same thing happened.

I’m not one to usually write reviews, and I’m not expecting the same quality of lens that big name glasses provide, but the lenses are just only able to be worn as looks and not for cycling purposes.

First picture is the first pair that i used a microfiber cloth on. Second picture is the pair that I used the provided carrying cleaning cloth that was provided. Both are methods that are listed on their website that are to be used to clean them.

I also cleaned them with water and then wiped clean as suggested too. I’ll keep the search up for another pair that may suit my needs elsewhere as I know I will probably get the same result with another pair of their glasses.

I have many pairs of Goodr sunglasses mostly Mach G and OG. Those glasses are amazing and I was super excited that Goodr came out with the Wrap G that would be good for biking. Ordered them the weekend they came out and threw them on as soon as they arrived.

Immediately noticed that they seemed to be applying a ton of pressure to my head from the arms. Wore them a half hour just around outside and had a splitting headache. The arm with on the Wrap Gs are supposed to be wider than on the Mach G and OGs that fit so well! Medium bike helmets fit well so a gigantic noggin isn’t the culprit.

Sadly, my recommendation is for everyone to skip the Wrap G. If your head is small enough for them to be comfortable to wear, the lens are going to be way too big for your face. Maybe the next version will be better.

Still thing Goodr is a great company! They took my return no problem. My review is mainly to help the company make a better product and save customers and Goodr money and time on returns.

I love Goodr glasses. I have several pairs. I wear them casually as well as running. They got great and they’re a great price point. These wraparound glasses, though, need work. It’s a different concept and much harder to get right.

The first issue is build quality. These have the same build as the cheap Amazon/Aliexpress glasses I’ve gotten for $15. The lenses on my first pair kept popping out at the lightest manipulation. I was sent a second pair, no better.

The next issue is the fit. They are supposed to sit tight on the face. They sort of do…just enough to fog up. However, also not tight enough to stop sweat from dripping down underneath the top and into your eyes and onto the lenses.

They need to go back to the drawing board with this design. Glasses like these are harder to design and build correctly. I should’ve known better, back to the Oakleys.

Hi Goodr team, This is my first pair of the Wrap G’s and I’ve used them once on a long bike ride. They were perfect and I was super happy. I just cleaned them this am and the outside mirrored reflective lens are terrific — no scratches.

BUT, it’s the inside I’m worried about. I’m using a lens cleaning solution I use for my prescription glasses and a clean microfiber cloth and I’m super sad to report it looks like the inside of the lens are scratched.

How is this possible? I’m really bummed out as I wanted to use them again tomorrow but the scratches are no visible to my right eye when wearing. Have I got a defective pair? Would really appreciate if someone could get back to me.

I bought this reel because most caves in Florida don’t need a full-size 400 ft reel. It works well as a primary reel for cave diving when the main line is relatively close to the entrance and it is definitely the best 200 ft primary reel out there.

But honestly I like Halcyon’s Pathfinder reel more–unfortunately it only comes in 400 ft (Halcyon’s their 200ft “Defender” reel is a joke).

I actually changed my order to the 400 foot model. I used it for the first time this weekend. WOW. It made running a line SO much easier. I love how it sits in the palm of your hand between your outstretched fingers.

It makes using your fingers to create tension very natural. Just squeeze a little. Construction is very high. The only thing I slightly worry about is the locking nut. You CAN loosen it too much and it will fall off.

Just something you have to be aware of. Might be a good idea to keep one in a pocket. While coming out of one system with a high flow behind me, I fouled my line. Or at least I thought I did. With my old line, I would have had a problem.

But is all I had to do was straighten out the line and everything popped right back in place. GREAT PRODUCT and as always, Mike and his team where great to work with!.
