20 Best Dandruff Shampoo For Kids (2023 Updated)

I never write reviews, but this stuff works! My 5 week-old got seborrheic dermatitis all over his face, ears, and scalp. It was bad. I used this daily along with the cream for five days straight and it CLEARED UP! So impressed.

I skipped a couple days and the inflammation, bumps, and crusty flakes started to return. Going to keep this in our regular routine from now on. The thing I didnt like was how drying it is, but Dr. Eddies Happy Cappy Eczema Cream helps with that.

Also, I dont love all the ingredients in it (ie Phenoxyethanol), but I havent found anything else that works as well. I recommend this product!.

I have decided that I genuinely cannot live without this product! I bought this initially because it was suggested for malassezia (shout of to SimplySkinCare!). It works beautifully at controlling “fungal acne” on my face without stripping my skin and destroying my barrier.

But even better, this has become a literally all in one treatment for ALL of my skin issues. It’s helped immensly with my dandruff, even better than T-Sal and T-gel, which smells awful and dries my hair out badly.

It’s also become a body wash for me. I have a very, EXTREMELY mild case of ichthyosis. While I know that I shouldn’t be ashamed of it, it’s been something I’ve been self-conscious about my whole life.

I’ve tried so many cream, scrubs, oils, you name it, to help control it. While they helped the appearance, it was still present. This shampoo though? it dissolve all the flaky skin on my body, it’s like magic! My skin has never looked and felt so nice, I almost cried the first time I used it.

I’m never letting this stuff go, I need a 16oz bottle ASAP Dr. Eddie!!!.

Infant to toddler suffered with scalp issues. Noticed results after first use and improved thereafter. I was prescribed topical cream for my infant and it was much too strong… even for me to bare applying it.

Use prescriptions as last resort… try happy cappy first!!! Also great for adult flakes.

Love the scent of this shampoo!! The smell isn’t too strong but it smells clean and lasts. The shampoo rinses out so easily and I follow with the conditioner on my daughter’s hair, she has thin frizzy still filling in hair and it makes it so smooth! My youngest baby I just use the shampoo and it is still so soft and tamed her curls.

Will never switch to another brand! The only issue I have is the bottle for the shampoo was shipped and came broken (won’t stay in the pump) but the quality of the product is amazing.

This is a excellent quality and inexpensive hair product for children and adults. This product has a good price compared to other vendors. Other vendors charge more for the same item, and also charge for shipping too.

This is a great natural hair product for biracial and mixed raced hair, that is curly and full, like my son has. I love using this product on my son’s hair, as it makes his hair soft, detangled, clean, styled, and neat.

Also, this product doesn’t have a chemical smell, and is light weight to use. This product is not sticky, and is easy to use with water. You don’t need much of the product to wash, comb, condition, or style the hair.

I use all of the Original Sprout products on my son’s hair, which include the shampoo, the leave-in conditioner, the deep conditioner, and the naturally curly hair products cream, which all work well.

I like this product and prefer this scent over all the other Sulfur 8 medicated hair and scalp. This one does not make my scalp sweat. I just wish that this product didn’t have dimethicone as a ingredient.

Dimethicone can have build up on the scalp overtime with regular usage.

I have dermatitis on my scalp and was prescribed special shampoo and liquid to help keep it at bay. When those didn’t work, I resorted to this. Although the smell isn’t lovely, it has done wonders for my scalp! No more itchiness or redness.

This item is amazing and combats dandruff so well. My cousins used it as they had slight issues with dandruff and we have noticed it’s not as prominent in their hair anymore. Would recommend. Very nice for young kids as well.

I got this product for my daughter, who has some pretty good dandruff. I’ve used other products (even more “natural†ones) and they always give her a rash all over her body, it’s always difficult to find the right products for her delicate skin.

However this product truly delivered! Pleasant smell, got rid of the dandruff, and no rah whatsoever 🙂 This product is great, Id recommend it to anyone.

I have used this product for two years now. So gently but EFFECTIVE. My daughter has dry scalp and hair. She loves the smell (that’s what counts). Didn’t want to use a medicated shampoo on her scalp

I have been using Mixed Chicks products for a few years now for my daughter. I researched for a while for something like this and I will not use any other hair product on my daughters curly hair! It is great! I like the fact that it is for any type of curly hair.

I also recommend their conditioner and leave-in conditioner. The products leave my daughter hair so smooth and frizz free. She is always gets compliments and I can assure that it is because of the Mixed Chicks products.

This product was recommended by a friend who is mixed, whose husband is mixed, and therefore whose 2 tween and teen girls are mixed. My LO is also mixed, 2-almost 3, and plays with her hair for comfort.

She comes home almost every day with one dreadlock in the making. I have tried detanglers, pink hair lotion, even baby oil none worked the wonders that MIXED CHICK products work. If the knot is extremely bad I slather on the leave-in conditioner on dry hair before I throw her in the bath.

By the time I soap her down and get to her hair I am usually able to just pull the knot out. If not, I shampoo and condition with MIXED CHICKS, and apply leave-in conditioner one more time. That has so far always worked.

This product line is utterly A-MAZING!!!! On top of that they don’t have an overpowering fragrance like J&J leave-in conditioner and they’re all natural. How great!.

As I mentioned in my review of the conditioner in this same line of products, what initially drew me to trying a kid’s hair care product as an adult woman was my quest to find a curly-centric product that wasn’t so heavily fragranced.

It seems like curly girl products are so heavily perfumed across the board, and my husband can’t tolerate a heavily perfumed product (I myself don’t really see the appeal in that). This is a neutral smelling, non-drying shampoo.

I condition each day of the week with Mixed Chicks Kids Conditioner, and wash my hair 2 – 3 x’s a week with this product. I also use it daily as a body wash since it is nice and mild and does not dry my skin out.

All in all, a great product for curly girls (or guys) of all ages!.

I have been used other products as my son’s scalp was very dry. Doctor suggested one product which wasn’t suiting my kid. Then I switched to Sebamed and it worked like wonder. The dry scalp and the dry small flakes were gone after 10 days of usage.

This shampoo is new to my children and they love the gentle smell and and smooth on the hair, tear free, no parabens, no phthalate,no petrolatum, no artificial color,no harsh Sulfate. It has a grapefruit, calendula extract, quinoa protein and jojoba oil to cleanse and smooth and strengthen my children’s hair.

Tried any number of shampoos for folliculitis that caused little bumps on my scalp. Dermatologist gave me a sample of CLn shampoo which worked to clear up the folliculitis. I use CLn daily and allow it to remain on my scalp while I shower.

Do not get in eyes. it burns. On my 5th bottle and it is still working. The slight medicine smell is not bothersome and in fact, smells much better that the coal tar (Neutrogena) that I tried before visiting the Dermatologist.

I have been using this shampoo and I think it is helpful. It seems to relieve some of the itching in my scalp. It is still winter here at the time I’m writing this review and I do not wash my hair every day in the winter.

With Spring right around the corner I will be washing my hair daily and I think and hope it will help me even more. It does leave my hair rather dry to the touch in the shower so I finish with a conditioner, rinse and the dryness is gone.

I really have nothing bad to say about this product. I have bought it twice so far to give it a chance and I’m happy with the results.

I have had scalp folliculitis for the last 15 years. I’ve been using topical antibiotic every 2 weeks when a flare occurs. When it improves, I stop the antibiotic but the folliculitis always comes back around 2-3 weeks later.

Saw a dermatologist who didn’t have anything else to offer other than keep my hands clean. Started using this product every other day for the past few months and it has cleared my folliculitis. I get the odd sore here and there but I’ve had 95-99% improvement, without having to use the topical antibiotic for the last couple months.

It works best when I use it every other day and leave it on for 5 mins before washing it off. Highly recommended.

The shampoo product is not working for me to control my scalp dandruff. An 8/10 condition. It may need a couple of months to work effectively. Also, I find the bottle difficult to squeeze to release the shampoo, esp when hands are wet.

I understand the need for thick and rich shampoo but very hard to get it from bottle. I like the fragrance.

I originally purchased 6 bottles of the hand sanitizer and then 6 pouch refills. I had been looking for months and buying everything possible. DS Sanitizer smells amazing and for the first time ever my hands are actually soft and not cracking.

I will search no further. I then purchased a volumizing shampoo for me, and the Dandrene for my severely disabled son who gets sores on his scalp. Within a week the sores were half gone. He is also severely immunocompromised with respiratory issues which makes Covid very frightening and the need for sanitizers a must.

The hair product was just a guess after using new hair products for me and in the end ALL of the products I have tried are excellent!! I highly recommend this hair product Dandrene and the volumizing shampoo and the sanitizer.

I was skeptical, I thought here’s another shampoo & conditioner claiming to work. Well, I’m no longer looking, I have found it! This product really does what it says it does. The mint smell is great and the way your head tingles when you use the conditioner is a bonus.

I wanted to love this shampoo. I purchased this because I have been sulfate free for several years now in hopes that it would help a scalp condition. I’ve had consistent dandruff for 20 years. Unfortunately I can’t use this shampoo.

The two times that I did, I literally can’t stand myself afterwards, the smell of the dandruff treatment product inside this is nauseating to me.

My my whole life I always had a separate shampoo and conditioner. So this is for sure a game changer once I decided to switch to the two-in-one. But on top of that my conditioners always left my hair heavy or still greasy.

This conditioner doesn’t. I also have tried many different shampoos to deal with dandruff and none of them were actually effective. I haven’t had an issue with Andrew since I started to use this and doesn’t dry out my scalp like the other ones had.

I rarely use 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioners because they usually aren’t that great. Does it really save that much time in the shower? Jason Dandruff Relief is one of my favorite dandruff shampoos because it doesn’t reek of tea tree oil, but unfortunately it doesn’t lather well because it is a 2 in 1 product.

A+ for scent since I have yet to find a better smelling dandruff shampoo, but unfortunately this doesn’t feel like it truly cleans my hair and I often have very bad hair days after using it.

Everything is excellent about Sebamed children’s shampoo. It has been clinically proven for optimal hair growth. The shampoo ph value 5. 5, keeps the scalp hydrated and strengthens scalp. This shampoo is free from harmful chemicals and hence has 0 percent incidences of irritant reactions and that’s the most important thing for me and my 4-months-old baby.

Sebamed children’s shampoo contains botanical ingredients. It’s mild, gentle and effective for everyday use daily cleansing for kids.

Sebamed is one of the best brands. I have been using this product since the first days after the birth of my children. Is safe for infants and is antiallergic. It does not irritate the eyes while washing and has a pleasant smell.

Put a couple of drops into the palm of the hand. Shampoo baby’s head gently with caressing strokes. It foams easily and is very economical. I trust Seba Med and I like this shampoo. I recommend. 😍👶👶.

My little and I really love this shampoo. We have been using it for 0 months and I am very satisfied. Does not damage the eyes. It blends well with my little one’s good unity while swimming. After using this shampoo, the hair becomes very slippery and soft.

The scent too amazing.

This product works well to keep cradle cap away. I bought this instead of doing a treatment with oil and a comb; it’s working well with a light finger scrubbing to get the scaley spots up. The scent isn’t anything exciting and it’s definitely not cheap, but it does do its job easily.

It does not bother baby’s eyes upon rinsing either.

My baby has sensitive skin and can get irritated by baby shampoo. He has a dry scalp and has mild cradle cap. I only allow this shampoo to be on his scalp and I do not wash my baby’s body with it. That did not seem to benefit his skin.

This foam shampoo does not lather when it hits his head but seems to almost soak in and hydrate the dry patches. It smells sweet and a little astringent. It rinses easily and does seem to provide his scalp nourishment and makes his hair soft.

He does not have as many dry patches. This has lasted longer than I expected. Contrary to what I have read, it has lasted over ten uses and there is still almost a full bottle. I am still not sure why it does not replenish his body’s skin as it does his scalp.

I think it is worth considering for cradle cap but if your baby has other skin concerns or sensitivities, it may not be as replenishing to those areas.

I just tried this shampoo on my 19-month-old daughter’s hair and was really pleased with the results. Usually, she has a tuft of hair in the back of her head that gets matted and is always split and tangly.

The sides are usually sticking out and flyaway. This shampoo went on easily with the foam and washed out much quicker than usual liquid shampoos. Her hair is smooth in the back with no split ends or tangles even after her nap and the sides are tamed and lay down without looking like I applied too much heavy conditioner.

I highly recommend this product!!.

Amazing! I have seborrheic dermatitis so I get dandruff and have an itchy scalp but it needs special active ingredients to treat it. Regular dandruff shampoos don’t work. This one, however, is great! It contains piroctone olamine which specifically fights seb derm.

If lathers well, doesn’t have a strong scent and is cheap! Sebamed aren’t totally cruelty free though which is really not good but this shampoo is the only product that has stopped my scalp itching so I will use it until I can find a cruelty free alternative!.

I believe that [brand:sebamed] is very good, qualified brand, but I am not satisfied withbsmthis shampoo. It dries hair so much. When I tried to separate hair with my fingers, it was so difficult. My hair and scalp was so dried.

I use much conditioner and oil after this.

It helped me a lot with dandruff. In fact, it went away completely while I was using it. The only bad thing I noticed was that it was causing me a slight hair loss for that and I stopped it. Too bad because it really did work.

I hope someone else does not have the same issue.

Great product for dry and sensitive scalp. I recently started using this. It lathers well and is fragrance free. It does not make my hair greasy soon as compared to the other shampoos. Satisfied with this product.
