20 Best Dairy Free Chocolate Milk (2023 Updated)

Thanks to Rose Honey, our daughter found out about Kiki Milk and we initially pretended that it was actually a treat for us thinking we would have to sell her on it. Boy were we wrong! She asks for it all the time so we have to pace ourselves in fear she may get tired of it but I feel our fears will never come to fruition as she loves the taste and we love the ingredients! The price is perfect and the quick shipping delivery and packaging is high quality, not sure you could ask for more in terms of satisfaction with customer service.

How best to say this? My son is an addict. We think in a good way, though his behavior since we introduced Kiki to his diet has us mildly worried / ready to lock up the Kiki. He’s two and has been drinking “myna” (more commonly known as “milk”) daily for the past year+.

We were already feeding our four year old son non-dairy milk (oat, almond, cashew, brazilnut, pinecone) because he acted like a psychopath when he drank cow milk and we were too lazy to take him to a doctor to see if he was actually lactose intolerant, so we just assumed he was.

We switched to Kiki Milk because it wasn’t full of added sugar and oils I can’t pronounce. He loved Kiki, and has been oddly asking to read Hemingway recently (may not be connected). It’s our youngest now who wants to do everything his older brother does, that started stealing the Kiki and now wakes up an hour earlier than normal screaming “KIKI MYNA!” This fanaticism repeats before nap and bedtime.

Our sweet neighbor came by to see if he/we were ok. I think we are. When the sippy cup hits his lips we swear its like an addict getting his fix. His eyes glaze. He gulps like it’s his last moments on earth.

They he grins before aggressively tossing his cup at us and demanding “MORE KIKI MYNA!” Do we recommend this product? Our kids are obviously obsessed and it seems to be good for them. Just proceed with caution, ok?.

I have tried various plant-based milks for my son, who just stopped breastfeeding and can’t have dairy products due to an allergy. He had rejected all the other milks, but after a few tries of Kiki Milk, he’s finally found one he likes! My main suggestion would be to improve the pour spout.

The current spout tends to leak when pouring. Also, it says to shake, but it’s hard to shake after it’s open if the full bottle is not finished at once. It would be great if the kiddos could drink directly from the boxes.

My son has tried, but it pours all over him. Overall, we like the milk and will probably order again!.

When I think of consuming milk, I choose almond, coconut and oat milks. Almond breeze milk is a thinner consistency than coconut or oat milk and definitely the preferred milk of choice for my 18 year old son’s homemade protein drinks.

It tastes great, doesn’t have an odd aftertaste and makes my coffee, oatmeal, smoothies and cereals just right! I’ll even use it in place of water when I make my children pancakes. I usually pick up a few boxes of original and vanilla Almond Breeze milk to stock my fridge and pantry.

I’ve thought about making my own almond milk, but the process seems a bit too tedious for me. In turn, picking up a box of Almond Breeze milk keeps things simple and easy. I love that I can stock a number of boxes in my pantry unrefrigerated until I’m ready to consume.

It’s also easy for me to find this product in the stores I frequent, like Target, Sprouts, Stater Bros. , Ralphs and Vons.

I’ve been using this milk alternative for almost a year now. I’ve opted in after trying Silk and Trader Joe’s versions, which are both good too. But this one is such a great balance that I’ll drink it entirely by itself.

It tastes even better with cereals. I’m a huge fan and highly recommend. Only side note is that I recommend using a different milk to cook. I do use this for making scrambled eggs and I think it slightly sweetens it, but in other foods, that wouldn’t be a preference for me personally.

this is my favorite non dairy milk. sometimes i use the vanilla one with pancakes and other baked sweets but the unsweetened one here is so versatile, it mixes well with mac and cheese and doesn’t have a noticeable taste.

this is so great for cookies. i love making chocolate milk with this brand and i’ve never even liked drinking regular milk. love this brand especially this larger size. i keep a bottle of this at work for my coffee every day.

my 5-year ol son loves it!. i started giving this to him when he started summer camp where he was physically active for 6. 5 hours per day (2 hours of tennis in the morning and 2 hours swim and dive in the afternoon and 2.

5 hours of enrichment class in between) monday thru friday for 7 weeks without missing a day… i continue to give it to him now that he started kindergarten. it is the one thing he consumes off from his lunch box without fail.

he says it tastes great and makes him feel full. My son is not good at eating independently yet, so I do not feel bad if he does not consume all his snacks and lunch because of the nutrional value this milk offers.

He is a SEA thalassemia carrier; hence cow’s milk is contraindicated. Almond and Soy milk are great alternatives to get his daily calcium and protein daily intake. Another wonderful thing is, It is shelf-stable, I am able to stock up and Walmart has the best price out there.

It is packaged in a skinny container with a straw attached to it — makes it easy and convenient for my son’s age and his tiny hands.

I’ve been purchasing Silk Chocolate Soy Milk for a couple years and it’s great in my coffee. Makes a a soy mocha treat! I especially like these small containers since I only have to open a little bit at a time.

Each individual one lasts for about 4 or 5 cups of coffee (instead of regular cream).

Soo good. I love it. Plant based. I like silk beverages. Great for drinking just like that, baking, and for granola. Buy it on sale . Awesome products. I always like silk.

Hey all you adult chocolate milk lovers, our time is finally upon us!! I ordered a double 12-pack of Slate after seeing their ads on Instagram and being smitten by the prospect of a better-for-you beloved childhood drink.

They arrived promptly in lovely, neat packaging and can be stored cold or room temperature. I’ve since taken to drinking one daily and they really hit the spot!! I would recommend shaking them up a bit since dark matter can settle on bottom, but beware that the can will fizz/rile up just a bit when you open after shaking.

Once I start working out again, I can see these becoming my go-to staples for post-workout recovery/happy-place indulgence. I don’t like coffee so I didn’t try that espresso one, but the dark and milk are absolutely divine!! Milk is richer than you would think and dark is not as rich as you’d imagine–they are both oddly balanced and (this is rare for me), but I don’t have a preference because they both make my chocolate sweet-tooth equally satisfied, but not overwhelmed.

I highly recommend this product! I like this company and I hope they continue the deals, practices, quality, and small-business perks that makes me want to purchase from them. In closing, please make a combo pack of just dark/milk chocolate WITHOUT the espresso.

Slate is a great protein drink alternative. Frankly, most protein drinks end up upsetting my stomach to some degree. Not the case with Slate. The only negative thing I noticed, at least for me anyway, is you really have to watch your caffein intake if you’re going to use the latte flavor.

It has the equivalent of two cups of coffee. So if you’re use to having caffein elsewhere throughout your day, adding this might be too much. So, I’ve opted not to do the latte flavor again. Otherwise, I absolutely love the two chocolate options.

They don’t have the caffein that the latte does. I’ll be back again and again to reorder these two flavors.

Chocolate milk was my absolute favorite drink when I was a kid. Quik, Bosco, Ovaltine, I loved them all. Now, as an adult, I have come full circle. I have been trying to replace coffee in my diet, as part of an effort to reduce my blood pressure.

I was always a mocha drinker, so I figured why not drink a mocha, but without the coffee. In many studies, milk has been shown to have a suppressive effect on blood pressure. Plus, Slate chocolate milk is delicious, and low in sugar and fat.

Maybe I’m just looking for a way to incorporate chocolate milk in my diet again, but so far I’m enjoying the experiment.

Love that it has a natural higher calcium content. 440 mg per 8oz. Love that it it has no sugar or cholesterol. I could so easily meet my calcium requirements without calcium supplements which can cause coronary artery disease.

I have osteoporosis, so don’t want to consume tons of dairy either. It made me extremely constipated. That resolved itself when I stopped using it. Flavor, you can get used to. Which I actually liked it better than milk.

Cost is ridiculous though.

Has the mouthfeel of regular milk, not too thick and oily like some dairy-free alternatives. Maybe the tiniest bit sweeter than cow’s milk, almost like a lactose-free milk. There is the slightest tinge of pea flavor, but you really have to think about it.

It doesn’t bother me, I find this milk quite tasty. The photo on the site shows cartons with straws, but the one I bought has the updated packaging with screw-on lids. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it as an occasional treat when I’m craving something milky.

My kids love the taste and flavor I ripple and just like their other mom dairy favorites, we like to keep these stocked for lunch and snack. We fell in love with Ripple when they first started and we continue to buy it often.

However the delivery made me realize that maybe this isn’t the best option as it was delivered in 98* weather and I walked outside to pick it up as soon as it was delivered however the box was so hot that so was the milk.

Ever had hot almond milk? It’s bitter. We will not be drinking this milk unfortunately. Other than that I recommend you do buy it in store or same day delivery refrigerated.

YEAAAAA!!! After developing lactose intolerance as an adult one of the things I hated giving up the most was chocolate milk. I gave this Chocolate Banana goodness a try based on a recommendation from a friend and WOWOWOWOW! I’m so glad I did! Not only do I get to drink chocolate “milk” again, but I actually think it’s the best tasting I’ve ever had! So full of rich cocoa flavoring, and the banana just gives it a creamy texture and a little sweetness.

Its not too sweet like other milk brands out there and I am IN LOVE! I also feel good about the fact that it’s not packed with sugar, so I’m making a smarter choice than before as well- win win! I came across this at Walmart. I have tried every kind of plant milk out there and hated them all until Now. OMG, this stuff is super good and it is also healthy. When I am craving chocolate and sweets, this takes care of it.

Only unsweetened almond milk I will buy! 10 year fan, will not switch brands! Delicious flavor and touch of vanilla. I hate the taste of cow’s milk (although I love plain Greek yogurt) and plain cow’s milk does awful things to my GI tract and hormonal cycle.

Silk almond milk makes me feel great and Target always has it in stock for a great price! I use it in smoothies and add a splash or two to coffee. I like it in cereal too. Glad the sodium is lower in this than other brands and no oil or sugar like some other non-dairy milk options.

My experience with products advertised on Instagram has ranged from “meh” to “terrible”, so I wasn’t expecting much from Slate. But not only is it tasty, after comparing it to its closest competitors I truly believe Slate offers a superior product.

Its high fiber content and no added sugar stand out from the pack with few other protein milks having these features. It also tastes far better than most. As a bonus, it happens to be lactose-free, shelf-stable, easily recyclable, and comes in 3 unique flavors.

I was a newbie to protein milks. Since I’ve been rehabbing an injury my workouts are of moderate intensity at best. I didn’t expect to see strong results from Slate, but I was surprised yet again to find I was much less sore the day after working out.

Another unexpected benefit was that using Slate milk as a reward for finishing a workout led to increasing my time spent exercising by 1-2 hours a week on average. Wow! Cooling down with a Slate milk after a session of Ring Fit is now part of my daily routine that I look forward to.

I’ve been using dairy alternative milks for a long time. I’ve tried many different options from many different companies. This is my favorite for taste and texture thus far. It has a creamy consistency (similar to oat milks).

It doesn’t have a particularly pronounced flavor; for reference, according to my tastes oatmilk taste like oatmeal, almond milk always tastes slightly stale, coconut milk doesn’t taste like much of anything, and soy milk is just repulsive.

I love this in my coffee, and with granola or oatmeal. I’m not one to drink a glass of milk by itself, so I can’t speak to that experience. I like that it has some protein. I’m going to ding it a star and a half because I do have some reservations about the ingredient list; I really don’t like canola oil, and I’m a little wary of “natural aroma.

” It has good things going for it, but it could be even better. It’s non-GMO, but I’d prefer it were organic, as well. It is shelf-stable, which is a big plus for me. There are similar products I haven’t yet tried with ingredient lists I like a little better.

For now, I’m enjoying this.

I originally looked for this product in the refrigerated aisle due to the word “milk” in the name. I couldn’t find it anywhere! Then, I thought to look where the boxed almond milks and alternative milks would be and BOOM! it stood out immediately from the other products on the shelf.

The striped two-toned box was definlety unique. Once I got it home, I found this product very easy to open and did not struggle one bit to remove the twist cap or the foil seal on the inside. There appeared to be some seperationg at the top which was not offputting because similar products have the same.

So, I shut it back up and shook vigourously and then poured myself a small taste. I did not like it very much at first but it was much much better after I added a couple ice cubes and let it get cold.

I was curious how this would taste in some coffee (I like chai tea and coffee mixed together in the morinings). I was very surprised how much creamier this product made my favorite drink! I usually use a well-known creamer product due to the sweetness it adds but I have always wished I had a healthier version of it because of all the fake ingredients.

This was both of those desires in one. Not onlyl did it add marked sweetness, it has so many more health benefits and little to no downsides. At tthis point I started reading the information on the back of the box and really appreciated the story of the makers.

The mission statement and value statements were inspiring and made me feel good about supporting them in their goals. Also, it offered a few more suggestions on how to use this milk in other foods like smoothies and cereals.

Overall, I would rate this product a 9 of 10 with only one point lost on the minor fact that it was slightly difficult to find what area it would be located in the store. I look foward to trying the other flavors available especially the barista style milk.

I was not deterred one bit from the fact tht this was made of peas and did not detect any traditionally green pea flavor. I will recommend this to my friends and family with confidence they will enjoy it as well.

I have to say I was very impressed with how this performed in my Nespresso machine. It froths up really well and pairs very well with coffee for a vegan flat white. It didn’t seperate or curdle which is always a danger of dairy alternatives Taste is very good.

Mild and neutral and doesn’t tastes of pea at all (I’ve tried another brand of pea milk and it was the most disgusting artificial dairy alternative I’ve ever had!) Pea milk is one of the most sustainable dairy alts too which is a big plus although this is somewhat negated by the fact this comes from Sweden.

My only real concern is how healthy this as it’s biggest ingredient after water is. Oil. It’s only 2. 5% pea protein. Quite high fat and has added sugar masked as agave syrup which is just sugar still Overall very good for coffee but I prefer a less processed organic dairy alt where possible with no oil.

We have used this milk since our now 15 and 13 year old daughters were toddlers. It has been a go to healthier option for our children. Our girls take 2 every day in the lunches. They love the taste…even the Vanilla flavor.

Side note…They have zero cavities and never had any broken bones…just saying.

I prefer the Horizon Chocolate Low-Fat Milk singles because it is quick and easy and shelf stable. I am the only one in my family who truly enjoys these now. They all prefer the really sticky, syrupy chocolate milks.

I like the lightness of the milk with the light chocolate flavor. I am not a big milk drinker but do enjoy these.

I get these in a larger pack from costco’s and they are also frequently on sale which makes them more affordable. Two out of three kids in my house are not a fan of it buuut, my youngest who is autistic and the pickiest eater LOVES it! I’m happy with its calcium, vitamin D and protein levels.

I would be happier if its other vitamins were a little higher like the vitamin A, vitamin C and iron. This helps keep my youngest from not getting enough calories or vitamins and he will drink them cold or warm he loves it so much.

Sooo I will keep buying this just for him.

So I have tried various brands of almond milk. There’s one generic I can drink. There is another brand that begins with the word Almond that causes me to have allergic reactions. Silk Almond milk is the only one that I know that I can safely drink.

This package came in an oversized box and several cartons were a little beat up; however, none of them were leaking and I started with those. Silk is “as smooth as silk” as the saying goes. I like the flavor.

This was a great price for the number or cartons and the number of ounces.

I absolutely love this product. I’m pretty picky when it comes to milk or what I drink because I worry alot about taste due to many products advertising that you cannot taste any difference and then when you get it tou most definitely can spot a totally different taste or something different about it.

This is so smooth tasting and it tastes very “chocolatey” and it really is so much healthier for you or your kids instead of giving them syrups to make chocolate milk try using this healthier option first.

I like to give these individual packs to my son. They are very convenient and they taste great. He loves chocolate milk but sometimes I give him this instead and he hasn’t had any qualms about it so far.

My only complaint would be the straw. It always never fully works. You do get to drink it but it’s like if you were to use a straw with a hole on it. It can get a bit frustrating specially for little ones.

I feel pretty deceived by all these great reviews. This stuff is okay when it can be well-masked with other flavors, but it’s pretty terrible on its own. I guess I should’ve expected an odd taste given that it’s pea milk, but absolutely no one mentioned the strange taste this has that I can’t describe.

it’s almost vegetable-y, but not exactly. My spouse says it tastes like nothing, but then again, he LOVES vegetables, so it probably does taste like nothing to him. Whereas that odd flavor sticks out like a sore thumb to me.

Anyway, it’s fine in oats; okay on cereal as long as the cereal is good enough to override it; sinfully terrible in tea; haven’t tried in coffee yet, but I imagine it’s just as bad; just barely drinkable on its own and leaves a bad aftertaste.

Do not be fooled by the “it’s close to regular milk” reviews. It’s not. I’ll give them credit that they got the mouthfeel and body pretty close, but that flavor. yick. I’m open-minded. I drink real milk and milk alternatives.

And this is one milk alternative that I will not buy again, unless I give the vanilla a shot.

I usually buy the kid version ripple for my toddler due to easier digestion. We loved that one a lot. During a travel the store was out of stock for what we usually have so I bought this one instead.

It is very sweet compared to the other ones. For fun drinks once in a while, I guess it’s okay. But if you are using this as an alternative of everyday milk for small kits, it tailors a dangerous sweet tooth.

I would not recommend this one for small ones.

Personal favorite, the flavor is an acquired taste, and I’d only recommend for people that need a dairy-free, no sugar option. Best substitute I’ve found so far for my hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) tendencies.

Pairs well when eating that rare chocolate treat. I go through 5 of these a month. Gets pricey, but worth it.

I was really happy to stumble upon this after finding the leading brand’s chocolate milk to be too sweet. Since I was familiar with their ingredients, I didn’t bother to check the ones for this product, figuring they were the same.

They are not. It wasn’t until the aftertaste hit within an hour of drinking every single time that I looked at the ingredients. In order to get rid of the aftertaste, I had to brush my teeth. Very disappointing to find sucralose, acesulfame potassium, and artificial flavors.

It’s chocolate milk! Why do you need all of this junk? It is also smaller than a regular carton of milk, and costs more than organic! It’s good quality, but if you are sensitive to artificial sweeteners, this is not a product for you.

I love that it’s organic I love that it’s filtered—thus lower in sugar than traditional milk equivalent or even a closer relative called MooD milk. I use this brand for coffee, cereal, and for drinking.

We all could stand to trim the sugar in our diet as we try to progress to a more healthy lifestyle. This helped me jump start my 21 pound weight loss journey. Have kept it off 6 months. The 2% is great for your bedtime glass of warm milk—which may help you sleep better.

The taste is very good—however the texture required a little getting used to—but well worth it. Multiple relatives have joined me and made the switch.

It seems that the customers here who complain about the smell and/or taste either left this out of refrigeration for too long, need to lower the temperature of their refrigerators or replace their refrigerators.

I’ve been using this milk for years and haven’t had any problems with it. Taste is better than average, smell is neutral/normal, has a much longer shelf life than regular milk and is healthier and more tolerable (if you have digestive issues or not).

Put it in your cart last, get home quickly and keep your refrigerator bet. 36-38 degrees (a good rule of thumb) and you’ll be a happy, healthy Fairlife milk drinker! Invest in a refrigerator thermometer (if your refrigerator has those useless numbers).

My husband was put on a strict renal diet when he was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease. That meant reading food labels on everything, and I do mean everything. Well, with CKD, you’re supposed to watch your Potassium, Phosphates, and Sodium.

Well, he was really, really missing not being able to have milk. Well, we tried the almond milk craze, nope. Not even close. Tried the oat milk craze. That sure wasn’t going to fly. Coconut milk? Not happening.

So, one day I headed to the store. And I read milk label, after milk label, after milk label. Nothing. I went to a second store. I looked for any milk they might have the other store didn’t have. And I stood there and read milk label after milk label, again.

Still. Nothing. I decided to go to another store. I stood there and I started reading milk label after milk label after milk label, and then I spotted it. Very bottom of the shelf. Hard to see. Out of the way, I see a milk carton that says, Darigold Fit.

I hadn’t seen it anywhere else and I’d never heard of it before. But I definitely know Darigold because it’s the milk we prefer. Anyway, I bend down, I pick up the carton of 2% Darigold Fit. I read the label.

And I kid you not, I was so ecstatic and excited, I had tears in my eyes. It was everything we could ask for. Plus it was less sugar, extra bonus points, because my husband is also diabetic. I held onto that carton of milk and headed for the register.

My husband was thrilled with it. He could finally have real milk in his cereal and with his occasional cookie and milk treat. And it didn’t end there. I told the renal dietician about it and she wrote it all down and said she was going to share this information with other dieticians at their next meeting.

She said this is something all renal patients should be aware of. So, people at Darigold, without even realizing it, you have done a huge favor not only to the people who are diabetic, but also for those on a renal diet.

My son is lactose intolerant. We tried FIT milk and it is the only milk with such good flavor that he can drink without issues. The extra protein and less sugar are great for his growing body as he is working out and needs the extra protein to build muscle.

Our kids have enough sugar in their world, so having 40% less in FIT, the better, yet the milk still has a nice sweetness. I have been having a hard time finding his FIT whole milk lately, I hope there are no issues with production.

I received a coupon for “Organic Valley Low fat 1% Chocolate Milk,” free from Pinchme and couldn’t wait to try it. As a person who loves chocolate milk, I was excited to taste this brand since it was my first time drinking and it really didn’t disappoint.

Compared to other brands I drank before, I must say I’m completely satisfied after drinking this one. This milk is gluten free, soy free, low fat, organic and comes from cows that are pasture-raised so this is good.

I used it to make chocolate, peanut butter smoothies and the rich, creamy taste of the combo was excellent. There are no artificial sweeteners in it so my family enjoyed drinking the smoothies or as a regular breakfast drink.

I told friends about it and they also agreed that this chocolate milk was awesome coming from a brand they loved. I liked that this milk didn’t give my family any stomach issues so we enjoyed drinking it a lot.
