We made a rage with this meat, basically added a bunch of spices, chopped garlic, chopped onion, homemade marinara sauce and did a side of pasta. It came out excellent! My family liked it, and it was a nice change from eating beef.

This ground elk meat made delicious burgers! The meat came in well packaged 1 lb increments that were frozen solid with the dry ice packs. I am confident that I can order in the middle of summer in south Louisiana with no issues, as the thick styrofoam package is well insulated and the dry ice packs keep the packages very cold! Excellent job!.

We love the bison, but just tried the ground elk last night. It was unremarkable. It had very little taste and we will not buy it again. We will continue to order the bison, though.

Is this a new item? I’d not seen this product until this weekend. Cooked it for a late snack. My thoughts? I love bacon. who doesn’t, so this was a must try item. No idea what center cut bacon is but i’m a fan.

I’d describe it as a lightly smoked salty piece of bacon that is somehow now a giant piece similar to the ham i typically get on a spiral bone in ham. Imagine bacon with more meat!!! This is not a product for people who don’t enjoy smoked foods, 4rth of July picnics, muscle cars, bass boats or anything that is traditionally considered Americana! Please Sam’s keep this product in stock and add more items from Hempler’s as they seem to know what midwestern americans desire in their meat/pork/beefish products!.

I love BBQ, ham, bacon and smoked sausage. But, this product is so overly smoke flavored that it is overpowering. After cooking two slices for sandwiches the entire house smelled like a smoke pit. I had to spray air freshener in every room because of it.

I had high hopes for this product but I will not be buying it again and, in fact, I’m not even sure I will cook the rest of the package. I buy Canadian bacon all the time and this is definitely not a substitute for Canadian bacon, regular bacon or ham.

I’m not sure what it would be good for.

I’m sure the product would have tasted good however the package that we purchased from Sam’s club in Aurora was slimy and smelly. It wasn’t worth the drive all the way back to that location to get a refund but they have to do better somehow inspect from time to time your products because it is inconvenient to those who decide to patronize a business that’s selling us goods that are not edible without their knowledge.

I’ve been putting in food plots for 6 years now and using a variety of products. Started using Whitetail clover about 4 years ago and decided last year to plant nothing but their clover because the deer LOVE it.

They walk past 20 acres of alfalfa to get to the plots. They are always on the clover plots from spring to freeze up. They eat it down to the ground before winter sets in. Then, the amazing thing is that if we get a mid-winter thaw here in Wisconsin, this stuff starts to push sprouts up and they are out there eating any growth/green that they can get at.

Unbelievable! Anyway, the 30 or so years of research that Whitetail Institute has put into the development of their products has proven to me that they are the ones with the knowledge and know-how to do it right.

NO, I don’t work for them or know anyone there, I’m simply a fan of theirs. So, do yourself a favor. Prep your land properly, plant it, mow it when the weeds start taking over, mow it again later in the season to again take the weeds down before they reseed.

Mow it for the same purpose the second season. before the weeds reseed! Walla, you have a 5 or 6 year food plot that will pull deer to your land! I’ve found that the cost of the seed is the cheapest part of the whole process.

if your sweat equity means anything to you. I tried to cheap-out by buying less expensive products from the Co-op or other companies and had bad results so at the end of the season you step back and say da*n, all that work and this is the result? Buy good seed!.

I put the lime down in the fall of the year and in February I threw the clover seed down along with he fertilizer on the rocky hilly ground in the ozark’s without any tilling I let it frost seed in. By May the clover was up about a foot high and the deer and turkey we’re all over it.

I seeded the clover a lot heaver than recommend, 18 lbs to the acre to give it a great start. And every month I would spray plot start on it and mow it.

In the past few years I have tried 22 different clovers and clover blends, each in their own food plot. I spray GLY 4 and kill off everything and a week later I come in and put on some lime and 19-19-19 fertilizer and then broadcast the seed.

A light drag afterwards and call it done. The germination of this stuff is phenomenal and the deer come to this plot before anything else. They absolutely love it. The highly palatable clover leads to much higher consumption rate has lead to a huge difference in antler growth and big improvement in body condition and a lot more fawns hitting the ground this year.

Where as we use to pretty much get 1 fawn from each doe, we are now mostly twins and a few triplets, and a big part of the reason is this clover. The difference in antler growth is astonishing. Don’t waste time or money on anything else.

I use the brisket to make pot roast. First i season the meat with a mix of spices then I sear it on both sides after searing I remove the meat from the pan ,then I add diced celery diced carrot chopped onion and minced garlic tomato paste and port wine to deglaze the pan.

After all of that I put the meat back in the pan cover the pan and place it in a 350 degree over and cook for about 3 to 4 hours checking to see if the meat has become tender. When done I remove the meat and let it cool slice and then add it back to the pan with the vegetables, sometimes I also add potatoes with the other vegetables , reheat and serve.

This also freezes very well so make extra for an easy meal. Enjoy.

Brisket is as beautiful as the picture posted. However, weight isn’t as described. The brisket with its plastic packaging is 5. 7 lbs instead of 6. 5 lbs to 7. 5. It’s just an FYI for those who have certain expectations.

It didn’t affect the recipe I used and it will not affect my future decisions to buy from D’artagnan. I made Amazing Rib’s Close to Katz pastrami with it. It’s a very glorious piece of meat and the pastrami turned out perfect.

This was purchased during a great sale but kept in the freezer for the right time. Since cooking usually for 2 we separated a good sized portion and barbecued it yesterday; it was very tender and delicious.

Tonight we are having the remainder which was braised in a wine sauce along with garlic and onions. I have purchased a brisket in the past which was from a kosher butcher and this one was superior to the kosher brisket.

I was impressed with the leanness of it and cannot find anything negative to say about it.

I really like the taste and quality of this meat. I use to buy the store brand. But as of lately, it just has not been up to my standards. I chose this brand because I looked up the company’s website to see how well there farm was.

I am very satisfied with the texture and taste.

Not oily, very light. It tastes very good and I like how I can cook it and there’s not a lot of oil to drain. I actually didn’t drain because there wasn’t any! Small package perfect for just me. when I say it’s light it truly is fresh and easy to cook.

Lacks the smell that others said. I love using it for my chili and tacos.

We have had really good experience with this, and have not got a bad package yet. Some people report gristle and a bad smell. I have not had that once out of 15 packages of the past year. We are a bit particular too.

Maybe it depends on your store location, their source, and how it is handled (kept very cold)? I’d say try it.

This is a good low calorie stack. I like to eat it as a snack and/or a meal replacement. I had gastric sleeve surgery it makes a good meal replacement and helps fill my protein needs. I also like to cut it up into small bites to use as dog treats.

I know my dogs are a bit spoiled getting this jerky for there treats but most dog treats are full of crap that not healthy. Also alot of dog treats give my dogs the poops or they puke Because of them.

At least i know what is in these meat treats. My dogs love them for there treats. And they dont mess with my dogs.

Excellent product but not worth the price. These are snacks that you go through fast and the cost is way too high. I would be apt to get them on a fairly regular basis probably even in a pantry order if they weren’t so expensive.

There are so many other snacks available out there that cost a lot less so a person would be apt to order them on a regular basis before ordering these on a regular basis. I hope they reconsider the pricing in the future.

Love beef sticks. They have the perfect meat taste. Pros they taste delicious. Only con is they can get stuck in my teeth lol. Not really needs to be improved. They are great nothing disappointing about them.

I recommended them to anyone. However watch out animals love them also.

This product is very flavorful, tender and just overall an awesome snack. It is pretty affordable, but could be a bit cheaper or come with more in a pack. To get more bang for your buck. Sometimes you can get pieces that have a bit of a weird texture.

Otherwise I would definitely recommend it as a snack!.

I ‘m a beginner at prepping and Mountain House fit the bill. I wanted protein in my stock for emergencies. Seeing that it is good for 30 years I figure if I never need it I can pass it down to someone that does.

I have gone camping and tried some of their meal pouches and they were very good. The only thing about the pouches is that it says 2 servings and I could eat the whole thing. I am not a big person at 120 pounds.

Mountain House really stands out when picking up emergency food or camping. I will definitely buy again. I tell all my family and friends this is the best value of protein meals compared to any of the competition.

This is great stuff! I lead wilderness canoe and backpack treks. I’ve been using Mountain House FD Ground Beef for 15 years and it allows me make my own backcountry meals using ingredients off the store shelf (Knorr Pasta or Rice Sides, etc.

) and thus avoid the cost of the much more expensive pre-packaged FD meals. I advise letting it steep 2 minutes longer than the 9 suggested to be sure it has completely rehydrated. And watch for the rare bone fragment.

Mountain House long term foods are hands down the best in the business for taste and wholesomeness of ingredients. I have to also add that the web site is one of the few where the “notify me when. ” actually does what it says and not just grab your e-mail for marketing purposes! Refreshing.

I love these sticks and all epic bars! You get the joy of jerky without the gross additives in most brands. I read that Epic bars are all fully cooked, so I’ve been eating them freely throughout my pregnancy.

They’re a great way to get a little protein in a snack. But I just read something about how jerky is not “cooked” in the traditional sense, but instead dried (duh), meaning it doesn’t kill all the bacteria.

So now I’m confused. Can someone tell me if this is true? Or if someone from Epic sees this, can you explain to me how your bars and sticks are cooked? That aside, I love these bars and the venison flavor is really not gamey at all!.

I guess these are a bit of an acquired taste because for me they were a little bit strong in flavor. Not bad. The texture was good, the size was perfect. The smell, even. But they just weren’t for me taste-wise.

However, a few of my other family members absolutely loved them and ate them all & fought over them lol. So while I won’t be getting them again for myself, there are others that surely will. I actually can’t wait to try the other flavors and find one I like.

My recommendation is that you won’t know if you like these until you try them yourself!.

My boyfriend and I are huge beef jerky advocates so I was super excited to try out these venison snacks. While it was packed with protein and taste fresh, I wasn’t necessarily a fan of the flavor as a whole.

It’s very hard to describe however very distinct and left an after taste which I don’t like. My boyfriend on the other hand is absolutely obsessed so it’s really based on your taste buds I guess! Overall, super good product as far as quality and value.

I had an issue with my first order of these 8oz Sirloins, when I found a hole in almost all of the packages causing the fluids to run out, but SRF was so good to me in dealing with this issue that I have returned to re-try these amazing pieces of meat.

These steaks were very good, with almost no tendons or stringy material running thru them. They have great flavor and it’s enhanced 10x over when you use the Signature Steak Seasoning with this sirloin.

The weight is always spot on, and the packaging has much improved since my first order.

This has become a staple in our freezer. Surprisingly tender, always a big beefy flavor and sized right for a nice portion. Also takes to a variety of cooking methods. I’ve done these on smoker, charcoal pit, pan seared, sous vide and in a rich mushroom gravy.

Still prefer your Wagyu 6 oz. Rolled rib eyes above all other options. Right size and great flavor! Your beef is expensive but definitely better than what I can purchase at my grocer or even my local butcher shop.

I can only eat clean meat, it there is any kind of preservative or anything that is not clean I react, and I reacted with your meat so in my opinion your meat is not organic. I will not be able to purchase it again.

My chows love them, if they love a particular product like your ‘Hollings Natural Wild Boar Strips’ then only the best for my dogs. Best treat out, and are safe for them.

Natural goat strips give your fur balls vitamin they need and my one of dogs cannot get enough of them, she would eat them all day if she was allowed.

This cut and preparation of bacon is my sole reason for continuing to eat bacon. I actually eat ONE slice daily, one egg and a great piece of toasted English muffin. It’s a great tasting bacon that is so satisfying.

I eat less as a retiree but I want something GOOD!.

Incredibly impressed with MeatN’Bone! Meat quality is exceptional and the customer care is even better! We ordered an extra large Waygu Pichana for a special occasion but Mother Nature threw a curve and froze Texas solid for a week.

Boar’s Head Smoked Ham- consistently a quality product. Great used as a part of a meat and cheese tray or an antipasti and cheese presentation. Also, great for sandwiches or chopped on salads. You can make a very good twist on an Egg’s Benedict with the Boar’s Head Smoked Ham, a poached egg, Swiss cheese and Hollandaise sauce.

Despite already reading the product description, I was astounded by the thickness of the bacon. My entire house smelled deliciously of wood smoke when I cooked just a couple pieces and the flavor was wonderfull.

I personally like the cherrywood over the applewood.
