Best Cuts For Wavy Hair (2025 Updated)

I am asked to begin by saying how I use the product. Well, in fact, I don’t. I tried it once and returned it. What I liked about it: It sounded ideal. The guides were described as promising a quick, even cut.

Coming out of the box, it looked like it would do just that. What I did not like about it: I had intended to purchase a professional set of barber clippers, after having good success with a less expensive set that wore out after a couple of years.

While I was hunting online for that, the ad appeared for this, and it sounded good and the price was better, so I gave it a shot. As it turned out, there were two primary problems. As it was winter, I wanted to go with the longest cut allowed by the cutting guides, but the guide that was purported to offer a 1/2″ cut ended up cutting down closer to a 1/4″ cut, so my head is freezing these days.

I can only imagine how short it would be with the ones that were supposed to provide a shorter cut. The worse problem, though, was that I could not get an even cut at all. I turned it on and set the cutting guide down on my scalp and then started sliding it around to cut my hair.

I could get a too close cut in a path that I ran the device along, but then it would not cleanly cut the longer hair adjacent to the initial cut. Instead, the guide would push the longer hair down flat, so it was not cut by the cutter at all, and I had this very uneven, absurd haircut,, with patches of hair considerably shorter than what I wanted separated by patches of long hair sticking out all over the place that the cutter would not cut.

It was especially bad near my ears, as the guides would not let the cutter get near enough to my ears to cut that area at all. I also had difficulty with the hair on my posterior hair line, because with the curve of my scalp coming to meet my neck, the device would not lay flat there, so I had tufts of long hair standing along my posterior hair line as well.

I had to use the old barber clippers.

The catalogue write-up makes the device seem easier than it is; that a self-given hair cut is a simple possibility. When receiving the device, you also receive scissors and a comb to try to deal with what the device can’t deal with well.

The device isn’t good at providing an even cut, and is especially not good at giving one at the nape of the neck. (So much for a self-given haircut when you don’t have eyes in the back of your head. ) The instructions let it be known that the device isn’t good for a tapered cut.

I would also add that it isn’t good for self-grooming; it still takes a second pair of eyes and hands to achieve a satisfactory haircut with this device and the added scissors.

I was giving my husband haircuts during the pandemic. He wants me to continue but, he told me he had seen the Barber Eliminator but was afraid if it didn’t work he would have spent money for nothing.

I told him Hammacher Schlemmer always will give a refund if we are not satisfied so he ordered one. He has used it twice. It works beautifully. Of course, he is 78 years old with a partially balding top of the head and longer sides.

Using the eliminator on the top of his head was awesome. He was just a bit timid about using it on the back and sides so he put it to the highest setting. I watched as he moved it around his head. ( I recommend that you have someone observe when you first start out.

) The haircut was very nice. My husband’s hair was a little longer than the man’s hair in the HS photo but it still worked well. I encouraged him to buy this because during the pandemic George Clooney showed everyone this item and he had used it for well over 20 years? If George can use it, what can go wrong!.

I absolutely LOVE and adore this gel! I have medium length 3B/medium porosity hair and this gel has been a total game changer for me! I’ve been doing the same hair routine for decades with ok curls that I could never leave down because they’d frizz after a few hours.

A year ago I started experimenting and really doing research on what could work better for my hair. I have genetic hair loss and have lost a ton of density over the last five years and I’m trying improve and preserve what I have for as long as I still have it.

I was always told my curls were “pretty,” then I started using the Curl Defining Styling Soufflé after trialing another cream/gel from a different line of product and I got a ton more compliments on my curls and could leave it down for longer.

After that trial, I tried this gel and oh my goodness, my curls are even more amazing! They don’t feel stiff and scrunchy, they don’t look like they are held with gel, but they hold for DAYS, not hours like before, but DAYS! I get compliments all the time on my curls now, even on day 3 between washes! My hair looks shinier without being greasy or stiff too.

I can’t say enough good things about this gel. I don’t use it in the shower, when I tried it on fully wet hair, I had less curls and less volume, but that’s just my hair. You’ll need to play around with your curls to see what works for you.

I comb my hair in the shower while I condition, lightly wrap my hair in a towel for a few minutes when I get out (no rubbing!), then put in my leave-in (Multi Tasking Conditioner) with prayer hands then put in this gel with prayer hands, do some gently scrunching and I’m good to go.

I’m unorthodox and I go to bed with wet hair but lay my hair “up” on my pillow to dry and I get a ton more root volume and just have to scrunch and finger comb a bit of volume in in the morning and I’m good to go.

Seriously, less than 5 minutes total styling my hair each day and I get soooo many compliments these days. Thank you Curlsmith!.

I have a fine hair texture and have some challenges getting my hair to look full. I usually apply a leave-in conditioner or cream before gel but I skipped that since I was trying this product first time and wanted to see what it did by itself.

I sectioned my hair and I admit, I used more than a dime size per section. After I applied it using prayer hands, I brush it through using a flexi brush, then brush styled with my Denman brush. The only problem I encountered was it was difficult brush styling with the product in my hair as my hair was sticky.

I will probably brush style then apply with soft prayer hands, then scrunch next time to see if that helps. Nevertheless, my curls starting popping while I was diffusing my hair. I’m not sure if it’s because I only used one product, or if something about this one product helped, but my dry time was way quicker than normal to (which is great because it was about 85°F today).

I went out and 2 people who see me all the time complimented my curls and that was a first. I only bought the travel size to try it, but I think this is one I’m going to repurchase a full size in. Oh, and I got great volume from it once I scrunched it out.

The trick for me was not scrunching up to break the cast, but instead grabbing my hair in sections like little ponytails and massaging the hair together while I scrunched. It sounds scary, like it would cause frizz, but I the hold is so good that I didn’t really get any frizz.

I hope that helps, but I get it might not be for everyone.

I am blown away. I have a mix of 3c, 4a and 4b hair (I think) and a tendency to use my curls as a fidget toy, resulting in lost definition and frizz- if thats not already present due to humidity or dryness or what not.

I have tried so many gels, combos, techniques but nothing gave me the amazing hair like this gel. Granted, i took more time than I would when in a rush, but applying it in sections and seperation/finger curling some curls+air dry = beautifully defined curls that lasted for 6(!!) days, including a 4-day hardstyle festival where i mostly wore my mane out, including during 31 degrees celsius & short but heavy rain.

I did not wash my hair in between, at most i added a bit of leave in on some parts, slept w my hair in a pineapple&bonnet. Yes it does leave your curls on the crunchy side but I personally did not mind at all; it gave me the assurance I could play with a curl and not mess it up instantly.

I honestly still sorta can’t believe how great this gel is on my hair. I have never had a holy grail hair product- until now. (Word of advice; maybe don’t do 4 festival days with your curls out, even tho it looked great my hair surely had to withstand a lot, and I had a hair dresser’s appointment soon after).

I do not like this new formulation. I LOVED this previous formulation and would recommend this product to everyone. It is apparent that there is little shea butter in the new formulation. The coconut oil in the new formulation is not making this a good product.

I will no longer use Curl & Style Milk. I have informed everyone that I recommended this product to about the formulation change. Please stop changing product formulations that we like. If you want to try a new formulation, please continue to offer the previous formulation that we liked so much.

The only thing that I can think of why you changed the formulation is that coconut oil is cheaper for you than shea butter. It’s always about money for these large conglomerates, not about the customer experience.

I am very disappointed.

I use this daily on my curly hair. It doesn’t leave my hair greasy feeling or looking like some of the other products I’ve used over the years, and I like the light coconut scent. As others have commented, it is a thick product and difficult to get out of the bottle, but my solution for that is to use a pump top from another product (like Mrs.

Meyers hand soap) cut to the length needed for the SheaMoisture bottle. I save the screw-on top and use it toward the end of the bottle when the pump won’t get out the last bit. Then I turn the bottle upside down, and when that doesn’t work any more, I get a plastic knife and scrape the rest out.

It’s too good to leave any behind!!.

I like this brand and although this product left a nice shine on my thick, curly/wiry hair, it was way too dense. Very little slip, more solid than liquid. It arrived on a cool day and I had to let it warm up before I could get product out of the bottle.

It left my hair really weighed down and waxy feeling, with no bounce. I don’t know what hair texture would benefit from this formula. Also, the squeeze bottle is nonsense. I had to leave it inverted to get any product out.

A jar would have been better.

I’ve used this a few washes now. The hold is not a 10 but I already knew that. Performance wise it’s actually quite nice. I like to take a small amount and rub it between my hands. Then I glaze over my wavy hair.

The gel is not sticky and very pleasant to work with. I use a lot but it’s so economical we don’t have to worry about that. I’ve put in a lot and my hair doesn’t become crunchy but there is a cast. My hair held its wave for about 2-3 days which is excellent.

Don’t forget to wear a bonnet at night ladies. I prefer to apply to sections in smaller amounts and go over each section twice. I find that I dispense product better but that’s just for me. I also like that it’s pink!.

I actually have the 16oz container… but I love this stuff!! It’s so affordable and it works so well! You do have to use a lot but I’m fine with that. My favorite part is that I can use it on my dry hair and it’s great for refreshes.

Makes my hair so shiny. Has a great hold and easy to scrunch the crunch out.

If I could give this product 100 stars I would. I have curly/wavy hair that almost reaches my waist and I was originally using the Devacurl stylers. However, those were really expensive and I had to use so much! I needed a cheaper alternative and bought this on the recommendation of some YouTubers.

I was not disappointed! This stuff is amazing!It has a very odd texture for a gel, it almost feels like a really thick glue, because it is pretty sticky. I use almost a handful of this on soaking wet hair and it never weighs down my curls or dries them out as long as I have a good leave-in conditioner.

It never leaves my hair crunchy or flakey and also works as a refresher when watered down a bit. You HAVE to try this if you are looking for a cheap curly styler!.

The Hold Me Softly Style Balm has become my favorite, essential styling product. I have fine, low-density, 3b-c curls, and this makes them pop, yet keeps my curls moisturized and soft. I would call it a Cream styler rather than a “balm”, because to me, the word “balm” implies something heavier/oilier.

But either way, it’s awesome! My routine: (1) wash then rinse-out conditioner, (2) leave-in conditioner – either Curlsmith Weightless Air Dry Cream or Shine Cream in the shower, with hair soaking wet, (3) gently blot the drips in a microfiber towel, keeping hair still quite wet (4) apply Hold Me Softly Style Balm, (5) apply a light gel – either Curlsmith Shine Jelly or Hydro Style Flexi Jelly.

I have also hade great results lately adding a step #4. 5 to apply the amazing new Curlsmith Full Body Thickening Lotion. Because my hair is fine and thin, a little product goes a long way, so I just use a tiny amount when layering these products.

Curlsmith has so many wonderful products! I love that no matter what your type of curl, they have something that works great! Their product scents don’t linger, and I don’t find that they clash with any other products or scents.

I have 2C-3A curls (prior to having three kids, my hair was 3B) and like most curly girls, I have tried every product out there. Granted, I am late to the Curlsmith game only because for the most part, I was happy with my Pacifica Pineapple Curls products.

However, I am a product junky and I like trying new things; one curly influencer popped up in my feed showing her hair with the Curlsmith line, so I figured I would give it a shot. I am not an influencer so don’t judge my photos, but I feel like this product is bringing my curls back to where they used to be before kids – my hair is curlier and thicker.

I’m not shedding as much as I was when combining Pacifica Pineapple Curls with Ouidads gel. I am extremely sensitive to smells and have skin that is prone to eczema and breakouts; switching to Curlsmith has not bothered my skin or my nose at all.

It’s not frizzy by the end of the day or on day two. That being said, I can feel it in my hair which bothers me (that’s one thing that I loved about Pacifica and Ouidad, my hair always felt light and clean even on day three).

I also feel like my hair is dryer so I think I need to switch the leave in conditioner I’m using. All in all, it’s definitely a good product and it works for me. I went and bought the full size bottle.

Depending on how long that lasts will determine if I am a Curlsmith convert. I’m going to try it on my two daughters hair next time they have a wash day to see how it works for them since that was the great thing about Pacifica, it worked for all three of us even though we have different curl types.

Received this product as a gift in exchange for an honest review. This balm smells soooo good; its fruity floral, smells lovely. It is a bit of a heavier formula so works wonderful for thicker dry hair, but will also work with thin hair if use less.

This balm doesn’t have any protein so no need to worry about protein overload. This is my routine: I apply balm in sections onto wet hair, comb hair with my brush to even spread out the product, and blow dry hair with diffuser attachment This balm gives nice volume and hydrates my curls and adds shine.

It defines my curls without leaving a cast, too. Very impressed, will be repurchasing the jumbo size and will be checking out other Curlsmith products!! Highly recommend trying if you have curly hair.

I have used my first one for over 23 years on myself (exclusively the FlowBee, no other cuts), and multiple other family members as well (some on intermittent basis as available). Has saved a lot in that time, paying for itself many times over! And with good results! My hair is difficult for stylists to cut and get a good look, but with the FlowBee I can get consistent good results, the way I want it, every time.

And right here at home, when ever it is convenient, no appointments or travel time lost. and I don’t have to wear a mask or worry about social distancing to get it done. Without a doubt one of the very best products I have ever bought! When I have the time I will repair the simple wire that finally came loose inside my first one after so many years of regular and heavy use, and fully expect to get much more use out of it yet.

But the day that it did not work, I jumped on the internet immediately to see if they were still available out there. I was very pleased to see they were, and that the design is virtually unchanged over all this time.

So they have not cheapened the product over time, and that is so rare! Using the new one is just like using my original. Very very pleased with this product! Though this one did cost a little more than the first one over23 years ago, I am confident that this second one is going to be well worth it as well.

Overall I am satisfied after 2 haircuts but will have to see how things hold up. The plastic spacers seem to be flimsy and one piece did break from a fall off the counter. Luckily there are good plastic glues available so I was able to repair before second use.

Replacement parts are expensive if they are going to be the same low-grade plastic. For the price I did expect higher quality. I cut my own hair first after watching online videos. Everything went well though the back of my head was the most difficult.

It will better in the future has I become more familiar with everything. Next I cut my grandson’s hair and everyone says it looks as good as most shops would do. If the unit lasts like many reviews say they do I know it will be a good long-term investment.

I would recommend to others but remember to be careful with the plastic parts, they are more fragile than they appear. Read the instructions, watch a few videos and you will soon be able to do nice looking, basic haircuts.

I was skeptical. I usually have a problem with barbers tapering one side or the other leaving a choppy spiky look. I have fine blond hair. Also tired of the new wave of barbers who shave the sides close and leave the top long, my wife calls it the hitler cut.

The flowbee did an outstanding job. Better than any barber cut Ive had in last five years at least. Took it slow with progressively shorter spacers from top to bottom so I didnt take to much off all at once.

Once I gained confidence I went shorter. Finished up with electric clippers around ears. Highly recommended just take your time and dont take off too much at once.

Several months ago, after watching a bunch of YouTube videos of curly-haired women using Curlsmith products, I decided to try some on my own very fine, thin, low-porosity, 2b–3a hair. I purchased the Feather-Light Protein Cream, Weightless Air Dry Cream, Hydro Style Flexi Jelly, and the Bouncy Strength Volume Foam.

Curlsmith also inluded a free sample packet of Curl Defining Styling Souffle with the order. Since then, I have tried them all multiple times by themselves, varying the amount used, as well as combining some, trying to consistently get the best look I possibly could.

Since my hair is rather short—just touching my collar in the back—the trick is to not use too much of anything. Here are my conclusions: 1) Curlsmith does a very good job of describing their products.

2) I can pretty much use any of these products with good benefit during the fall/winter months of low humidity, with the exception of the Bouncy Strength Volume Foam. It is very good at giving volume, but it does inhibit curl formation for me, so I will have to figure out a way to use this one up.

3) I got the best curl formation with the Styling Souffle, but it doesn’t have sufficient hold to use routinely. 4) The Weightless Air Dry Cream doesn’t do much for my styling needs, so that also will be a challenge to use up.

5) The winner in my experiments was a combination of the Flexi Jelly and Feather-Light Cream. This is working well for me even during the humidity of Southern Indiana’s summer. Not to say that I get no frizz, but it is tolerable.

I end up with moisturized, shiny curls and waves in thin clumps that hold well enough, although I usually spray my hair with water and do a quick restyle each following morning, which usually turns out even better than wash day! I don’t need to add any more product—just water.

The products reactivate very well and also wash away completely with mild shampoo. Great! 🙂 This is my procedure: I wash my hair twice with a gentle, moisturizing shampoo (by Andalou Naturals), I skip conditioners, since they inhibit curl formation for me, I dry my hair with a T-shirt just until it doesn’t drip anymore, I take a pea-size amount of Flexi Jelly and a bit less of the Feather-Light Protein Cream and mix them together well by rubbing them between my hands.

I apply the mixture around the outside edges of my hair and distribute it as best I can, then I pull my hair outward from the center of the top of my head, exposing the tops of my hairs and repeat with an additional, but smaller amount of the product combination, until every hair is coated.

I brush it all by sections, pulling outward from my head with a Denman vent brush (not the brush most curly women seem to use, because that one pulls too many of my very few hairs out in the process), I shake my head and crunch to encourage the curls to form, which they do in a natural way.

As my hair air dries, I shake my head back and forth and up and down periodically to help encourage some separation that adds volume. When fully dry, I crunch out the cast, and I am done. Sorry I have used so many words, but I hope this will help other Curly Girls (and guys) who, like me, have few, very fine hairs, so can’t pile on all the products most of the curly people on YouTube use.

I really hate to see negative reviews on this product , I know products work differently for everyone. This product alone will not destroy your hair. It will benefit it tremendously and you will have healthy curls or wavy hair.

Curly hair is prone to dryness because it doesn’t hold the water, so we end up needing to use products to help with the up keep of hydration and moisturization. The ingredients are amazing for curly hair.

Very hydrating and nourishing, and the hyaluronic acid seals the water in our curly hair cuticles, this is what initially drew me into the product. I love that it is a leave in conditioner as well as an air dry cream.

Honestly the price is not bad for what you would typically spend for a 3 step system of a leave in, curl cream, curl gel. To reference my hair is a mix of 3b/3c hair. I wash once a week with shampoo and conditioner, add a leave in , sometimes use a gel, and lastly will use either olaplex bonding oil, curl smith bonding oil, or Moroccan oil.

Through the week I workout Monday-Friday, and I can not stand to have sweaty hair and curly hair products are too expensive just to go through. I need my hair routine to be really simple fast and easy as I have to go to work afterwards.

This product has done just that for me! I will wash my hair after my workouts with a cleansing conditioner and then proceed to part my hair in three sections. First I detangle my hair and then add in the cream ( Amount depends on your hair type and texture) from root to end , I then take my Ez detangler or Felica Leatherwood detangler brush and brush side ways in in a curling motion to my ends.

I do it very slowly and gently as I want the defined curls with out the breakage. As the last step , I will add a little bit more cream and do the praying hands method as it really encourages my hair for those bouncy pretty healthy curls.

If this is not your preferred method for defined curls that is okay, I would definitely recommend to still section, get a water spray bottle and after each section finger roll or coil the curls. I say this product is for everyone because it truly is, my daughters has a completely different hair type and hair texture than mine.

She is a toddler so of course her hair will change over time. Currently, her hair is straight at the top with big ringlet curls at the bottom. I don’t do the same method for her hair as I do mine, because it is not needed or appropriate for her hair.

I do want to encourage her hair to be healthy and more on the curly side. Fortunately, this product has been doing a great job with helping me to get those results. I wash and shampoo her hair once a week , I add just a small bit for her hair as it goes a long way, and add in very lightweight oil to the ends of her hair.

I will also add the joico heat protectant before blow drying. Through the week I will just add water and a small amount of this leave in. I love it because her curls form so well, and she’s not left with soaking wet hair as the air dry time is faster for the both of us now , but it does not dry our hair out.

Like I said it’s an amazing product of you know how to use it.

I want to revoke my previous review of this product. so. this product DOES work really well, at least for me. once i learned how to use it for my hair. I can’t use it as directed. on a whim I tried it this morning the way I feel works best for my hair and its WORKED! It worked BEAUTIFULLY.

literally got the exact reaults I’ve been trying to get from trial and error from other products since i started my wavy curly hair journey. this is how I use it for my fine, low porosity, 2b/2c, chin/shoulder length hair: (I do this entire routine with my head upside down) apply the air dry leave in cream to soaked hair (not so wet that water its still gushing off strands but still fully wet), then I use my microfiber towel to blot and softly scrunch waves/curls into their natural respective sections until hair is between wet and towel dried, then using the praying hand motion is apply a quarter sized amount of the jelly starting at the back and then sides of my head, then another quarter sized amount for the front end what’s left on my hands I gently scrunch upward to make sure the ends are well covered, then while still upside down I diffuse my hair to 80% and let the rest air dry and settle, once its been 100% dry for about 20 minutes i scrunch out the cast.

my waves/curls are so soft but defined and shiny. again, I take back my previous negative review. this was total operator error.

I usually like all Loreal products I try, but I’ve yet to fall in love with anything from them, other than the total repair five deep conditioner. I stumbled upon this leave in and purchased it bc it claimed to help grow your hair while also offering heat protection.

Idk if this actually grew my hair or if it was due to Quarantine / not being able to have my hair cut, but this for sure makes my hair so soft and smooth before and after I blow dry and style. I was curious how this would perform as a “one and done” product since I’m locked indoors for who knows how long.

I was so shocked at how smooth and fluffy / voluminous, but not frizzy, my hair was the next day when I woke up! I went to sleep once my hair was about 80% air dried and was actually sad that I had nowhere to go bc it was such an amazing natural hair day! This does have silicone in it but I don’t find this to be heavy at all and trust me when I tell you I really pile this on my hair.

No matter how much I put, I rarely get that greasy/heavy feeling. I have a medium thickness to my hair with a slight wave towards the end, so this allows me to wear my natural hair bc it does a great job of eliminating frizz.

Plus, the price and scent are just so right. Bottom line, I highly recommend this.

This leave in treatment came in a colorful package and had a pull-up lid, which made it easy to control the amount of product. The consistency is creamy (but not as thick as usual hair masks) and is supposed to be full of vitamins.

I used it every second day after washing my hair with the shampoo and conditioner. I applied it to dry hair because this awesome leave in treatment also protects hair from heat damage. What I noticed after applying it to dry hair, was that the product didn’t fully absorb.

Some parts of my hair were sticking together and I had to comb the product out. It works well when applied on wet hair, since it then absorbs quickly. But nonetheless of the applying method, it makes hair look healthy and I am also a huge fan of the scent which a bit on the sweeter side.

It’s a miracle! A hair product that actually does what the bottle says it’s supposed to do! My hair has never looked healthier. It only takes a very small amount, rubbed between hands, and massaged through hair.

Once hair is dry, it looks shiny, healthy, and freshly trimmed. Before finding No Hair Cut Cream, growing my hair long meant regular trims, otherwise it always looked stringy and kind of gross. (But trimming your hair when you’re trying to grow it long is like taking one step forward and two steps back!) This product works—today my long hair is soft and looks so healthy.

I continue to use No Hair Cut Cream even when my hair is shorter and I’m not necessarily growing it out. It just keeps my hair looking beautiful. Side Note: This cream was great during the pandemic closures in 2020– when salons were closed… and my hair was growing longer and longer… but I couldn’t get a trim.

The cream kept my hair looking healthy the entire time, even though I hadn’t had a trim or haircut in nearly one year! Bonus: It smells wonderful—Like a fresh haircut (hair salon smell!). I definitely recommend this product! Thanks, L’Oréal! Please don’t ever discontinue this cream.

Ive used this product for a good 20 years+ it is absolutly brilliant wouldnt use anything else. I find it easy to use wash out and style. It works well in the rain just get wet dry off a bit then re-style – brilliant.

As with washing off hands use washing up liquid or a shampoo. Dont use to much wax about a large pea size warm in hands then use to style. A little goes a long way.

My wife bought this for me, instead of my usual hair product. I was wary of using it when it sat, rock hard, in the bottom of the container. I massaged a small amount from the tin and began to ‘soften’ in my hands.

After some time it yielded enough to apply to my hair. The product does not apply evenly, it looked awful, greasy and unclean. Very unhappy with appearance I tried, unsuccessfully, to wash the stuff from my very sticky hands.

Such was the resistance this stuff has to soap and water I had, in the end, to use a combination of washing up liquid, a scrubbing brush and a pan shiner to get my hands free of this awful, awful compound.

I have now just washed my hair removal times in the shower, and I can confirm it is just as resistant on one’s Barnet! On the plus side, I’m guessing it will quite effective at sealing the electrics on my motorcycle and preventing the ingress of water.

DON’T BOTHER WITH THIS.

I’ve been using this product for about 20yrs and to tell the truth, it’s more for coarse hair. You only need a little to start off with and only need to use probably twice a week(the beginning and probably the end.

) DAX is a rich product and comes in different formulas for different types of hair. choose Dax.

I love trying out new curly hair products and sometimes it takes some trial and error to get the right amount or application technique, but I was so happy with the results with this curl defining cream from the first use.

This is definitely one of the best curl defining cream products I have ever used and I have consistently had good results with it. For reference I have fine textured 2C/3A curl pattern hair and I like products that enhance the definition without weighing down my hair too much & sacrificing volume, which I feel this product did well.

I applied it (as I typically do with cream products) on soaking wet hair under gel and diffused it dry. A little goes a long way on my hair type and I used a pea sized amount on two sections with good results.

This product has a pleasant scent that isn’t overpowering. I appreciate that this product is formulated without sulfates, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, etc.

as many of these ingredients are ones that I try to avoid for my curls. I also appreciate that this product comes in recyclable packaging. The price point of this product is higher than I usually pay for similar products but because a little goes a long way and my results were good, I would consider spending this amount on it.

I will continue to use and would recommend to others.

I received this as a sample to try out, and let me say, as a natural curly haired girl I am always looking for a new holy grail curl product. I have tried some of the other Moroccanoil products in the past but this is my personal favorite I’ve tried so far.

My first time testing this product, I applied it by itself after my usual wash and go. After letting my hair air dry, I noticed my curls had great definition and I was immediately excited. I went about my usual schedule and was pleased to see my curls still stayed together throughout the course of my day.

It also made my hair superrr soft which is always a nice addition. Although this product is great for defining your curls, I had to give it 4 stars as I found it was lacking in the hold department and it did not do much to combat additional frizz.

I love when leave-in products put a slight cast over your curls, as I find that helps tremendously for day 2 and day 3 curls. If you prefer a little more hold like me, I would strongly recommend following this up with a styling gel-type of product.

I have gotten so many compliments on days I work this product into my routine. While this curl defining cream is not quite a holy grail leave-in that will replace all of your other products, it is a wonderful addition to your curly hair routine.

I kind of hate how much I ended up liking this product. I’ve been devoutly curly girl method for a few years now, and I actually can’t remember the last time I used heat on my hair. I’m pretty proud of myself, actually.

Even stopped dying my hair! So, in the interest of living that low bar lifestyle, I also don’t want or need to wash my hair often, and my styling routine is kept to a minimum. Nothing complicated, no plopping, no clipping roots.

Just a good gel and a good scrunch and a microfiber towel. Bam, done. So, enter this Moroccan Oil Curl Defining Cream. After I washed and conditioned, then upside-down detangled with a wide-toothed comb and denman brush, I first scrunched in a generous amount of cream.

I honestly probably used too much—I think a smaller amount goes kind of a long way. Which is good, because the price tag isn’t exactly low. After a good scrunching, I sealed it in with Deva Curl gel.

A lot of reviewers used the cream on its own, and I considered doing that, but I figured I would have the best results using both. And I believe I was correct. After scrunching out the excess water and product with my microfiber waffle towel, I could already tell that my hair was looking nicer than usual.

My curls clumped juuust a little bit nicer, the waves just slightly more defined, less frizzy, and somehow more body, even though I air dried. It was a noticeably better-than-usual hair day. And I kinda hate it for a few reasons: (1) it’s not cheap; (2) I’m not jumping at adding an additional step to my low bar routine; (3) I don’t think this is actually a CGM-approved product; and (4) my sample sent for testing was just that—a sample—and I would have loved to have received a full size because I liked it so much! 😭😭💸.

This product has some huge pros and huge cons. My hair is fine but dense, long, and is becoming wavy. It’s been straight my entire life, but I’ve just realized that little bends that I’ve been brushing out of wet hair were actually new waves.

I tried this product and it was magical. The little bends in my hair air dried into loose spirals. I was super excited. Then I did more research and realized that this product contains non water soluble silicones, which are pretty bad for hair long term.

For that reason, I won’t use the product again even though it made my hair look great. I think continued use would have a damaging effect. I really hope that Aveda reformulates this product without silicones.

I would buy and use it in a heartbeat.

I use this for fluffing up my hair into a quiff. It works great! I use it together with the texture tonic spray on damp hair, dry it with a hair dryer, and then add a bit more to solidify it. I definitely have to use a strong hairspray with this, and I usually add a little bit of the men’s grooming clay to make it last longer.

My only complaint about this stuff is that it doesn’t keep your hair fluffy for very long in Florida humidity. Still, this is the best product/product combination that I’ve found for my hairstyle. Also, it smells great and you can’t see it.

When used alone, it doesn’t make your hair crunchy, and your hair still feels soft and clean.

I became obsessed liquid gold after receiving the small size via Beauty Loop. I didn’t think it work work for me bc I only have a slight wave on my hair and besides I wasn’t seeking to define curls as such.

But what I have desperately wanted for years is an affordable leave in conditioner with added keratin for my long blonde hair with highlights. Who knew I’d hit the jackpot by trying this curl enhancer.

The ends, sides and fringe are the areas I target before I blow dry and straighten, I get even better results if I have time for my hair to partly dry naturally before stylings The large tube will last ages because you only need a small amount.

Well worth the price. Hairs feels so soft and smells beautiful. So happy!.

Took me a few minutes because this is bigger and a little heavier than my last WAHL trimmer, but it does a great job! Love the additional neck trimmer. My husband does too. Shaves the neck so smooth without “pinching” the skin.

Has so many attachments that we won’t use, but sure could have used the eyebrow trimmer attachment. That would have been great! But I used my smaller WAHL with the #1 attachment and it workd well.

Its a very great product because its Very easy to use,& put it in trim mode or just to cut your hair! Because you can flip it to just like trim your mustache or beard and thats what my husband does a lot with it, is to trim his mustache and I use the trimmer on it a lot to cut the back of his neck line.

I almost had buyers remorse. After buying this model, I was reading the reviews on another website. Seems like the Wahl Clipper Elite (about 1. 8X the cost) was better rated. Oh well, since mine was on order.

I received it, and used it. I couldn’t be happier. I don’t think I would have gained anything with the other model. The guards attach solidly and give a consistent cut. The cutters smoothly cut the hair with no pulling what so ever.

Great value. For the price of 1 hair cut, all my future cuts are FREE.

This product lasts for ages and I use it every wash and if I need a little extra curl definition the next day I can use it twice. I highly recommend this product, it is now a new favorite and I have just reordered today.

I bought it last June, and it is still going however, I have reordered the Flexible sculpting foam which is a gr8 combo with this product but I ran out of the foam much faster than this product and only have been using this product on its own for months and still love the soft curl look and feeling.

I love the product but this is the third bottle I have purchased where the pump doesn’t work. The first two faulty pumps were purchased in a salon. I thought it was possible that something happened to the container in the salon.

But this time I purchased direct from Paul Mitchell. I have to twist off the top and pour it into my palm which makes it difficult to get a consistent amount. Once the pump is fixed, I would rate 5 stars but the repeated faulty pump is quite frustrating.

I was really looking forward to this product because I have long thick hair. The smell didn’t bother me. But when I sprayed it on my damp hair. It felt like I put hairspray on. It was thick and sticky and left my ends really dry and feeling like Hay.

My hair never feels like this. Will return.

I have fine, low-density (“THIN!”) hair that’s wavy if left on it’s own to air dry, curly if loaded up with gel, manipulated/scrunched for half an hour and diffused. I’m trying to be lower-maintenance with my hair and let it air dry more often, so I’m looking for one-and-done products that work well without a lot of fussing & intervention.

This stuff really does feel/smell like nothing when it goes on (which makes it a little tricky to know if you’ve distributed it well). As it begins to dry, a cast does form and it can feel a little brittle/sticky/crispy while drying.

Once it’s dry I’d say it does a few things well: Definition is good (better than most of my other air-dry creams). Frizz control seems good (curl clumps seem to have plenty of hold) Seems to enhance my wave pattern a little.

But the cast is fairly tough to release (which means a lot of scrunching/touching, which is annoying when you just want to spray something in and head out the door). I suspect the bottle will be gone in no time (it does take a lot of product to cover my hair and I really don’t have much hair.

I’m guessing 6-10 uses out of one bottle if I’m lucky, so it’s pricy). Overall: don’t hate it, don’t immediately love it, but I probably don’t have anything else like it in my closet full o’ hair products (and it does seem to work well on it’s own).

Haven’t tried it layered with anything else, and I tend to wash daily (or put my hair up), so not sure how well it does with a refresh on days 2, 3, 4.

I have very naturally curly hair and have tried an extremely wide variety of products and brands over the years. I was very skeptical with this one claiming to be all products in one, but it truly is.

I couldn’t believe what my hair looked like when all I did was spray it in, comb it through, and let air dry. Because it is light it does not weigh my curls down and my hair dries quicker as well because I’m not using heavier styling creams or gels.

I’m really pleased with this product. I even love the removable lock on the sprayer so you can take it with you without any mess. Where they could improve is the shape of the bottle. The rectangle is not the easiest to handle.

Also, if you have longer hair like I do, the whole bottle was gone in about five uses. Please sell travel size and jumbo refills. Thanks!.

This product was horrible in my curls. It did not perform as advertised. I followed the directions and sprayed the product through sections of my hair after a wash and combed through but ended up with a tangled mess! I thought I did something wrong so I tried it a few times in different ways but always ended up with stringy tangled hair.

Even after using it together with my other tried and true products it just didn’t work. Honestly feels like putting a ton of hairspray on your curls. It didn’t even control the frizz. I had to detangle several more times and was left with tangled waves instead of bouncy soft curls.

Terrible product.

I love this product. This is my curly hair staple!!!!. I have a really hard time finding products that work for my hair. It is really soft and curly, AND I’m allergic to a lot of good stuff that is in natural hair products.

Trying to keep it clean and safe, this product checks all of my boxes. I love this, and have recommended it to all my friends and family. This brand is hands down my favorite natural/curly hair line.

I was introduced to a couple of Taliah Wajid’s products in 2018 from a natural hairstylist. From then, I have tried the Shea coco collection and the natural hair collection and I really like both line of products.

I have been natural since 2014 wearing my hair out every so often between protective styles. I have tried so many products since then and this brand of products have been by far the best for my hair texture and curls! I use the natural hair cream for twists, Bantu knots, rod sets and wash and go.

I like the Shea coco collection. Have been using on and off for years. Very hydrating to the hair and not residual. Smells great ; I love coconut smell and Shea butter is good for you. I would recommend to all my 4cs or 4z with fine hair.

this is your go to, good for low porosity as well. The styling cream is good; my edge love it. but that daily “leave in” is GOLD!!!.

The items purchased looked like they all came from the sane lot –curl depth and shape was consistent throughout multiple separate packages. This is not my experience when purchasing multiples of the same brand at a local hair supply store.

And the sale price induced me to buy enough to last a year!.

Way beyond expectations!!! Very bad quality hair piece. Waste of money. Will NEVER purchase anything from your website. More like a fake product.

I actually thought it was a full wig by the photo. It would be better to show it is for weaving into the hair.

I’ve used Wonder Waves for years and years. I have fine, whispy hair and it was the only thing that put a semi curl in it without the frizz. I tried the new Curl Shape Gel, ugh, this is horrible. The only thing half decent is the smell.

I do like coconut, but this stuff left my hair sticky, crunchy and when it FINALLY dried it was frizzy/staticy. I hate it! Goes on way to thick. I scoured the internet and bought the last 3 bottles in existence of Wonder Waves on Ebay.

This is a daily product I use. I have also tried Not Your Mothers Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray. It’s the only thing I have found close to what I need. I use my Wonder Waves sparingly to make it last and the other for every day.

Please comment others on products you have found that work! I also use Garnier Hair Spray and Shampoo/Conditioner. If they change these, I’m out for good.

This product is perfect for those days when I have to get up early but did not have time to wash my hair the night before for that morning I love this product to help it look like I spent a lot of time doing my hair.

What I do is I’ll wash my hair that morning and then dry it as much as I can with a towel so it is more damp because you don’t want it dripping wet and then I just spray some of this gel in my hands, rub my hands together, and let’s run it through mainly the ends of my hair and then stay do a scrunching motion with it to this number curls look more defined and just look prettier and will hold for the rest of the day.

This gel does have a very good hold to it and I have pretty thick hair and it’s between medium and long length and it still works wonders for my hair. It is very affordable, very easy to use, and it does have a smell but it’s kind of like a hairspray smell so if you use a hairspray and all that stuff anyways then I don’t think the smell will bother you.

I highly recommend it!.

I have used this product since it came out over 20 years ago and still stand by this product. I use this product on my sons hair, my husbands and even my own. I will say that it makes my hair crunchy and so I usually use it and then add water to the bottle once there’s room, this helps dilute it some so that it doesn’t make my hair crunchy, but it still manages to hold my curly hair in place and makes it look soft and bouncy.

I usually have an empty bottle that I pour half of it in and then fill both bottles up with water, so I have 2 full bottles with half spray gel and half water. I love the smell and love this product.

I always keep it in my arsenal.

I find that this is a white and less waxy texture than the orange wax I was expecting. Perhaps this is great for 360 waves. Seems like a pretty weak product overall. I used to use it back in the day for waves when I wanted to “sleek” my hair into a ponytail but while maintaining wavy hair in the front.

Smells delightful. Only giving 4 stars as it’s not been used yet. I have a reluctant pre-teen who wants to train a new low fade and accent his natural wave, but he’s too lazy to do it! I’m sure the product will be great as it feels a really nice consistency.

At first I really liked this product. It kept my hair from getting frizzy and locked my curls in. However, it does NOT rinse out with water. I now have product build up in my hair; shampoo doesn’t completely take the waxiness out of my hair.

I do not plan to purchase again.

I definitely am a fan of this hairspray. I am particular about what I like my hair spray to smell like, especially if my hair will smell like it after using. The fragrance of this hairspray is pleasant, and something I don’t mind smelling like at all.

Goldwell definitely makes amazing high quality products, for a reasonable price. This 8. 7 oz can lasts forever, and costs roughly 15-18 dollars. It gives you brilliant strong flexible hold, no stickiness or crunchy hair.

Anti frizz, protects from humidity. Volumizing, enhances fullness and says it’s color protecting. It holds my hair style all day, all night while giving my hair the feel I want and the movement. I highly reccomend this beauty and will definitely continue using.

I have a straight up afro–which I love–but for the days I want to switch it up a bit and elongate my look, this is my go to product. My curls are real tight at the scalp and seem to loosen up toward the end of the shaft and this product works the same on both textures, tight or loose.

When I use this product, the compliments don’t stop. I use this product with Goldwell’s thermal spray serum. Both products together give me a super straight and silky, glossy look that looks so different from my natural texture that when I use these products in combination, people don’t believe it’s my own hair!.

I have very fine hair, just above shoulder length. This product makes my hair go from wavy to curly and full of body. A little goes a long way, and I use about the size of a 5 cent piece on really wet hair and spread it through.

Once dry, I kind of crunch it a little as it ‘sets’. But it’s not crunch like other products. Highly recommend. Go light first, then work out if you need more product in your hair.

I love how light, clean, and soft the shampoo makes my hair. At the roots it’s light and fluffy and my scalp doesn’t feel dry. I have fine/thin hair that has to be washed at least every 24 hours or will be stringy and greasy.

I think this is helping my hair last a bit longer than usual, I can go a half a day longer without it showing that it’s dirty. When I use it with my Luseta hemp oil conditioner it looks nice and shiny and not frizzy.

The conditioner on the other hand is leaving my hair dry and tangled. I only put it on the longer parts of my hair, so near the scalp it’s still fine. But this does not smooth over my hair in the shower or feel like it covers the hair no matter how much I put on, it almost makes my hair instantly tangled and doesn’t help me comb through my long hair in the shower to get the shedded hair out.

I end up with dry frizzy hair. It’s shocking to me that this is supposed to be a hydrating conditioner! The air dry cream I just can’t make work for me. Even with just a little it just leaves my hair limp and stringy and still doesn’t de-frizz it.

It’s even stringier if I apply it to dry hair. I highly recommend the shampoo, but the others are a big disappointment. Overall they smell ok. A bit more perfumy than I prefer but not overwhelming, I prefer more natural herbal scents.

I was surprised how these arrived as well, not a big deal but unusual to have brand new product show up looking beat up. One bottle had a dent in it and the air dry cream was kind of smooshed. It was all covered in a fine dust which I think was from the shredded crinkle paper packing.

Luckily everything was properly sealed.

The Embody Volumizing shampoo smells fresh and bright and has a perfect lather that rinses out easily. The Nurture Hydrating conditioner though? ICANNOTSTOPSMELLINGTHISHonestly, if I could bathe in this scent I would.

I need this fragrance in a perfume, a body wash, a lotion, a deodorant, a room spray, a car freshener, a hand sanitizer, EVERYTHING… I WANT TO LIVE IN THIS SCENT! My previous descriptor of divine doesn’t even accurately describe how incredible the fragrance of the Nurture line is.

Just trust me on this. And lastly the air dry cream? No exceptions made here either. This is the perfect product for someone like me who doesn’t use any heat styling products and just does a quick towel dry and go.

This product helps keep my waves looking tamed and bodacious without all that unwanted frizziness that typically happens when I air dry my hair. The scent on this product is also amazing. Just the perfect combo of sweet and citrusy that makes me feel like a tropical self care goddess every time I use it.

Overall, my hair looks luscious and has such a healthy shine to it and feels so soft and luxurious to the touch now. I will forever being using JVN products and recommending them to anyone and everyone I can.

Review on product: To start off, I knew I needed something that hydrates and wanted to get the purple line. However, when I did the quiz, it recommended I get this set (green). When I got the set back in Dec 2021, it came with a free sample size (purple) set.

I am so thankful that happened; will elaborate in a bit. So when the shipment came, I was so excited to get it and did all the steps. The first time I used it I used the free purple set and loved it! The next three times i used the green volumizing set and my hair dried out so terribly.

For some reason the green set dehydrated my hair to the extend I had to chop off a good chunk of my hair. Purple set: This is where the free sample saved me. I remembered the instant change in my hair look and feel after using the free purple set.

My colleagues liked the way my hair looked after using the purple JVN hair set (including the air dry cream). Air dry cream: my mom doesnt use any post wash products but have been using my air dry cream and loves it.

it definitally defines our curls and is easy to manage. looks hydrating and bouncy pre was scalp: if you have sensitive scalp please be careful or wash your hair often. From the time i started using this product, my scalp has been irritated.

i used some other oil and it helped. Post wash shine(not in this list): i dont see much difference but use it in between washes to attempt to shine it. Fragrance: The fragrance is great and loved the smell of all of the products.

I hope they start producing fragrant free options though. Saving grace: the (free) purple set saved my hair and I didnt give up on this product but chose what is best for my hair. i did buy the purple set to help my hair and love it.
