Best Custom Tactics Fifa 17 (2024 Updated)

I have played fifa every year since 1995, I’ve been there through the great times (FIFA99) to the godawful times (FIFA07 xbox 360. really?) And I have to say this years is a triumph. Gone are the overly paced players, gone is the poor defending and gone is the ability to beat anyone purely by using trick sticks.

This year’s game is pure football, you can’t win unless you know how to play the sport properly, which will upset so many of the more recent players that just want to be PSG and win every game. The game is slower, more realistic, so much more satisfying and more importantly opens up progression for players like me who want the game to replicate the real sport.

The only sad thing is that this will be the last fifa. What a way to end the era though.

We have to understand that FIFA is the only soccer game that exists, Konami was in charge of killing PES, so I can’t complain about this FIFA, it’s almost the same as 22. Obviously it has some bugs but with the updates they will be fixed.

Those of us who love football (as it is known throughout the world) do not expect illogical dribbles, or exaggerated shots, we want real football. If you want powers or fly with the ball, play Mario Strikers!.

Very similar to FIFA 22 I only play career mode and not much as changed. Had to use sliders to improve the gameplay. Visually very similar. Hypermotion graphic isn’t needed after you score a good goal.

But it’s the best football game available as Efootball isn’t an offline product.

If you have fifa 22 then fifa 23 isn’t really needed. Apart from new menu layouts and a few minor tweeks it feels a lot like the 22 version. Maybe over time I’ll discover new things that I like, but so for I’ve not been impressed.

I should state that I only play career mode, maybe all the bug changes are to FUT.

Purposely held off with this review to give it a couple of weeks and to see what others thought of the game via Twitch. Definitely mixed reviews and thoughts on this game but did notice the same criticism being mentioned.

I’ll start first with the few things I’m not a fan of and noticed most so far, both player and ball movement is utterly slow, defending is horrible at the best of times and there is little to no difference from swapping gameplay mode from normal to fast.

Shots from inside the box are a surprise packet yet taking a blast or long shot seems to be the play so far for 22? also I’ll just add that just after half time the game does this slow glitch thing for about 5-10 seconds while in game, even after installing the game again.

I must admit 22 has made it from what I believe a bit easier this time around to get headers from corner kicks and crosses coming in. Goal Keepers are a lot better than 21, it’s probably the only thing in the game that feels like they got movement right on.

FIFA seems locked on this Volta thing but I guess for people that like it, it breaks the gameplay down a bit with new arcade modes added this time. I’ll finish this off by saying that I totally understand with every new Fifa we must adapt to the current changes each year and I still have a lot to learn about all aspects of the game.

The gameplay is simply not good. I play online seasons only. I can’t imagine how many updates it will take to fix the garbage that makes me rage quit every time I play. There are times when facing Messi or Neymar that they can just wiggle wiggle wiggle through your defense and you can’t even switch to the correct defender in time to do anything.

The R stick switching is consistently inaccurate. When I ping a ball across the pitch to switch the play, no matter the player, they will chest it down and take ages to settle the ball. By the time the ball is under control and ready to dribble, the defenders have recovered and I’ve lost my numbers advantage.

Makes it so easy to overload ball side and trap the opponent. R1+O passed are always too low, might as well be double tap passes. Can’t even clear the head of a midget. They’ll just intercept it and automatically direct it towards their goal with perfect weight and the counter is on.

When defending a corner kick, there’s always one player that’s standing around the halfway line to start a counter. That player is consistently the wrong option. When using Chelsea, why would I want Jorginho there? He’s slow! When using Bayern, why put Gnabry there when I have Coman and Sane on the pitch? And I can’t control this.

If I play a formation like 4-2-3-1 and instruct my striker to always stay forward, I don’t want to see him coming back to the box to defend. I need him forward as an outlet, but he just doesn’t listen, even Lewandowski and Ronaldo.

If I set a formation with a winger and am attacking through the middle, that winger will just not get involved. They stay wide on their touchline and just watch me get swarmed by defenders without providing any useful outlet or attacking runs.

If I’m driving the ball up the middle with my CAM, I don’t need the striker to drop back as a false nine. That’s useless. He should be making himself a target, but instead drops behind the ball and doesn’t go in the box at all PSG are playing awfully in real life, but their live form doesn’t indicate that.

And everybody just uses PSG because of it. No gameplay variety. This will be the last fifa I buy for a few years at least.

This year’s FIFA is a mixed bag. The graphics and haptics are impressive but the gameplay still has question marks for me. I have experienced multiple glitches in the game even with the bi-weekly patches.

The microtransactions are terrifying. Beware, the learning curve from FIFA 21 to 22 is steep. Goalkeepers are both awful and amazing this year. They save impossible shots but fail to save simple ones.

The AI defense can be frustrating but you can learn to put up with it. Overall, I appreciate that they tried something different but it lacks quality.

So this was my first FIFA game in a good while. Took some time researching which one was the best in the last ten years as these games come out each year and not much changes to them. So was definitely looking for something different.

FIFA 17 rose to the top because it was the first time the game was powered by the frost bite engine. Having played other games powered by frost bite, I knew this would be a good thing. Overall the game is well done.

Nothing new except smoother animation as a result of the engine. The only major draw back is the lack of a tutorial when it comes to understanding what needs to be done during the skills challenges. Just it tells you press O or X to shoot or pass the ball but other than that, no other info on how to get a great challenge score.

Maybe if I had previous titles this would have been explained. Anywhom I would not pass up on this game as the reviews show that years 18,19,20, and 21 are not all that great. 22 should be for next gen console so thats a different story.

Let me say that I am not a soccer player by any means, nor had I ever played soccer video games before. I wanted to try this game when I saw it being played on Youtube. The first impression was that it wasn’t too hard to pick up and play.

By that I mean, having never played a soccer game, I learned the controls very quickly. The layout of the controls is very simple, which I believe is perfect to bring in those like myself. The two key game modes I grew to love were the Ultimate Team and the Career Mode featuring Alex Hunter.

The Ultimate Team is something that I as a kid basically had been doing with other sports games my whole life. Allowing you to build a team with players from different squads is so much fun. Especially since you spend, in-game currency to acquire some of these said players.

The more you play and win with your team, the more currency you can obtain and the more currency you obtain, the higher rated players can be yours. The opportunities and games are endless with this mode.

The Career Mode featuring Alex Hunter is so well done. It’s like watching a movie/tv show unfold, but you get to play a part of it. You being able to control one player’s career instead of a whole team really is enticing.

I can’t speak enough about how this mode keeps me coming back. All in all this game is amazing. Even if you aren’t into soccer or know anything about it, I recommend you try this game. Countless hours of fun come with it.

I think FIFA 17 is a great game as it offers a wide variety of game modes, all in one game for a very cheap price. The biggest feature added to this game is the in game player faces. These new player faces make the game feel more realistic as when I was playing FIFA 16 last year, I could not tell who a lot of the players were.

This made FIFA 16 not good but EA Sports, like every year, managed to correct their mistakes so that mostly every player on the game can be recognised in the game. This little feature has a big impact to the game and lifts its status as one of the biggest football games in the world.

This also enhances the quality of FIFA 17 and makes it stand out more than the previous game. In my opinion, FIFA 17 has the best graphics out of all the football games as the style of play is much better than their rivals Konami.

The flow of the game is much faster and makes it feel like you are actually playing in a real match. I also like the new feature added to FIFA Ultimate Team called FUT Champions. This game mode allowed a lot of FIFA pro players to show their true ability against some of the biggest pro players in the world.

It also allowed people who were not good at the game to try and get better at the game. I loved it as I qualified and did pretty well. In conclusion, I felt that FIFA 17 is a fantastic game and it is also my favourite game as it is very enjoyable to play and I don’t get bored of it because there is so much to do for only £50.

The game is worth every penny.

What i bought was just terrible. The case was the only half decent thing about it. Even though it was a bit sticky. Obviously was not bothered to clean the disc and it has fingerprints, deep scratches and dust on it.

All it needed was a good clean and less lies about the condition of the disc. It plays but makes weird sounds. Every other discs i have work normally with normal sounds other then this one. Shame.

The game is incomplete, it’s not fun at all. It’s nearly impossible to play defense, passing is very temperamental it’s great one game garbage the next, games are also scripted you can win 5-1 over a top 3 team playing as a mid table team with mostly your 2nd team starting but loose in extra time 1-0 to a bottom table team with all of your starters in.

Manager mode you get stuck playing 4-5 months with a game every 1-3 days, games keep getting rescheduled where your players can’t rest so you are almost forced to field 2 teams. The Journey mode is ok but also has issues, a mistimed standing tackle knocks your match rating down by.

3 but 2-3 good passes make it improve by. 1 it’s so hard to be consistent for casual players. The ownership part of manager mode is frustrating as well, the rating you get seems random, no matter how successful you are you still have to do all of the goals to get a good rating.

After a few days of playing now I wish I would have just saved my money and stuck with 16,I was atleast having fun on it.

Pure garbage game and gameplay. Ball physics and movement is so unrealistic. This is more like a ping pong game not a football game. Everything about this game is extremely wrong. I was hoping PES(efootball) will do good on their new game, which turned out to be trash.

So, I decided to give Fifa22 a try, and what a mistake it was. The game is unplayable at all. I mean, there is no way to enjoy the gameplay. Extremely boring game. Ultimate team is just pure garbage.

Especially with all the stupid cartoonics customs to the game. Fifa and Efootball this year are competing which game is worse than the other.

They really screwed up the dynamics of this game making gameplay more cumbersome and rigid. The fluidity of the game is gone and they made PSG too powerful. Literally the same match-up everytime you play, your team VS the cheat code team.

Definitely takes away from the online fun. Their matchmaking algorithm is also way off. When I was in Division 6 I was Vsing Division 1 opponents. I restrict matchmaking to similar star teams, I use 3.

5 stars. Without fail, Im matched every single time with a 5* PSG team. They really need to fix this issue. Makes the game utterly unplayable for the purists.

It’s a typical FIFA game. Doesn’t matter whether we know we are getting much of the same every Summer/Spring, we will still buy it and complain. But I am enjoying it. It is still an excellent game and you really can’t beat a good game of Playstation football with a group of friends.

The graphics are awesome, the game play is pretty smooth. They say year on year the game gets slower for a more ‘realistic’ game, but it never really is. And to be honest, if the game works, there’s no reason to change it.

It’s certainly a cash cow to release basically the same game with minimal changes, and we are guilty of being gullible enough to believe that drastic changes have been made. The only drastic changes we ever see is the replacement of the year to the end of the title.

Overall, great game. No need to complain because you can’t score goals or concede 3 minutes into extra time. That’s the beauty of football!.

*Price; -The price of this game is a good price. It went from $60 to $40. It not much of a change, but it is a great price for the game. *Quality; – The quality for the game is kind of the same as FiFA 15.

I have both of the games and they are almost the same, just more people on this game. I am not saying this is a bad game, i am just simply saying it is almost the same as FIFA 15. *Intensity; – If you and a friend are really into this game, it will get really intense.

I was playing with a friend of mine, and we were down to one minute left in the game and we were tied 1-1. It was really intense. Be warned, there could be some foul language said to each other. Not saying that there will be, but just in case.

*Teams – This game has so many teams on it, it is insane! Over 20 of your favorite teams are on this. I was having a hard time trying to decide which team I will be using. *Graphics – The graphics are pretty good, but its like i had said earlier.

The graphics are quiet similar with FIFA 15. I am not trying to stop anyone from buying the game, I was just giving a heads up on the graphics. But honestly, these graphics are pretty great and a little better than FIFA 15.

The amount of effort put in this game makes me cry with happiness. Ultimate Team is now at its finest. The graphics and realism has been improved vastly from FIFA 14 (the last FIFA I have). My problems are: 1) When EA servers disconnect in the middle of an online match, my DNF gets affected and EA penalises me for it.

2) Bad music, but this is very subjective. I would prefer having house music like Durante and Kygo. 3) Have more international teams. Even Nigeria isn’t in it!.

I buy FIFA every year and finally the champions league has been included in this years version. I think this has to be my favorite addition because while you could previously play in cup tournaments, or create your own tournaments, hearing the theme and seeing champions league in a FIFA game just feels long overdue.

Now onto the gameplay and this year FIFA feels intentionally slower. There have been some new mechanics added to the game and so far I am not a big fan of the 50/50 system as it seems random instead of skill or rating based.

I would say the user loses the vast majority of the battles no matter what player you are using. Speaking of which, the attributes too often feel useless. If I play a through ball to an attacker making a run with a higher sprint rating in open space, and they are beyond the much slower defender then the defender should not catch them as often as they do.

I understand that they slowed down the whole game for the sake of realism, however, a fundamental element of the game (real and video) is making intelligent runs that expose the defense with a well timed pass.

This year feels slower and I am sure those who are excellent with some of the newer trick pass animations and shots will excel but overall it makes the game feel a bit less fluid to me. I also think the change in the passing mechanics so that they are less accurate is a huge mistake as far too often simple passes like through balls to open teammates or switches to the opposite side of the pitch go awry even when you are using the best passers in the game.

It’s still a video game and I expect precision not to mention if you watch most of the major leagues around the world, the amount of basic passes that go awry without defensive intervention is minimal.

I do like the new active touch system which is fun especially on volleys but it will take some more time to truly master. The graphics from the players to the stadiums and the pitch continue to look great.

The commentary also is strong with the addition of Lee Dixon and Derek Rae for the Champions league matches. The journey mode which I enjoy is supposed to represent the end of our time with Alex Hunter.

I have not finished it yet but am enjoying the use of the champions league as a focus this year. I also like the ability to play as Kim and Danny a bit more this year. I do wish there were more consequences to choices you make and branching paths that change your story but hopefully this will happen in future iterations as it would also give the mode more replay value if they had more endings.

Ultimate team is the cash cow so as usual it has a ton in it and can be addictive but the best method for advancing still feels like buying as many packs as humanly possible which admittedly makes it less appealing.

If you bought FIFA 18, I would stick with that, otherwise this is not a bad update.

Every year I fight with the question of which soccer title to purchase and every year I end up purchasing both PES and FIFA. Truth be told, I usually end up playing FIFA more than PES. That deciding factor has always come down to licensing and presentation, because both titles play well.

Well, that being said, FIFA again has cornered the market on the licensing, by snatching up the Champions League and also upping the ante in the presentation department. However this year, the gameplay for me feels broken.

I have had several instances where goals were scored by way of animations playing out that I had no control over. Madden Football has become notorious for this and now it appears to have spilled over to FIFA.

This is not a good thing at all. I can give you several examples of this, but the we don’t have enough time. Here is one example. The opposing team took a shot on goal and it deflected off my defender and looked good while doing so, ball physics and all.

And then IT happened. The other offensive player literally slid about 5 yards over, like on ice skates, to put himself in the perfect spot to net the goal, without the players head even tracking the ball or legs moving to run over to that spot.

The play happened so fast I had to watch the replay to figure out how it was possible that the player reacted so insanely fast. And that is when I noticed that it wasn’t anyone reacting or controlling the player at all, it was in fact a pre-determined animation playing out.

WOW!! What a buzz kill. Up to this point, I had never witnessed this occurring in a FIFA title. It is supremely disappointing and frustrating. That was only the first occurrence of many. I have also noticed a crazy amount of players clipping through other players, the ground and their own limbs as well.

It just really feels as though the FIFA development team is banking on the licensing and presentation to carry this game and have left the gameplay unfinished and broken. It’s an easy decision this year for me.

It’s PES all the way. FIFA will be in real trouble if PES can improve on the presentation and licenses, because when it comes to realism on the Pitch. it’s hands down PES. I hope this helps anyone trying to decide what title to pick up this year.

Well, another year, another FIFA. One of my biggest gripes with EA Sports is the similarity year in, year out, kits and players may change but you don’t get a lot new. Well, it seems that way usually but with small improvements.

This year they have included Champions and Europa Leagues along with the normal competitions. The graphics have improved, the gameplay is more realistic and the atmospheres stunning. Working my way through the game today and it’s good.

It’s bloody good. Maybe the purists will find a few mistakes and things not to their liking. I for one thought it a bit unrealistic that most fans wore the same thing! However, that aside, feel the effort that has been put into the game is reasonable.

Price? Well 50 for a game that was around 30 (without the extra material) a couple of years ago, is steep for some. especially if you buy the game year in and year out. But then consider what you are getting for your money.

It works out about 1 a week. If you play it all the time, and some will, it’s well worth it. They could still do more imho. Again weather conditions are limited, commentary is good, but can be repetitive occasionally.

Would like to see more fouls from AI opponents, aggressive behaviour from players, commentators criticising poor refereeing decisions etc. etc. And more variety in the crowd. But then I’m a purist. I rate this 8/10.

There is always room for improvement. But on the whole, very good. It certainly wipes the floor with PES in my opinion. Let’s see more than 1 update throughout the year though, not just after the January transfer window.

I bought this game a month ago and still loving it like my first game

Pros: Got a discount for pre-ordering.

FIFA 21 is a really fun game for football (soccer) fans. Like any game, there are pros and cons, so I will include some in case you have yet to buy the game. For me, the game mode that I play the most is FUT (ultimate team), so most of what I say has to do with this game mode.

Pros: -In-game player movements improved compared to FIFA 20. It is a bit easier to control players in the defensive end and catch up to your opponent. Slide tackles are more effective. – They are constantly updating the game to fix glitches, add new items, etc.

– One of the biggest pros: there are a lot more options in ultimate team. – In previous years, in FUT, you could only play rivals and squad bottles by yourself, but they added a new co-ops feature where you can buddy up with a friend to play these game modes.

– You can customize your very own stadium. Goal celebrations (pyro, confetti, etc), crowd chants, pitch patterns, etc. Customize practically every aspect of your stadum. I really like this new addition because it is more visually pleasing.

You can change the colors of the seats, goal, tifos, etc. They have continued to add new features to customize your stadium. – FIFA 21 has been releasing a lot more objectives to complete for those that want to do them.

There are a lot more options for additional rewards, but you of course have to work for them if you want them. They added new “friendly game” challenges to complete for rewards (reward is a special card/player).

With that being said, I am more intrigued to stay playing the game with these new challenges / objectives. -There are a lot of things I can continue to praise, but this will probably go on way too long so I’ll stop right here.

Cons: – The game continues to have some glitches. There have been quite a few times where the servers have been down without prior notice. I have seen many people complain about that already. However, the creators do a great job listening to feedback and try to correct the issues as quick as possible.

– It is still not possible to cross play. That is, you still can’t play against friends that play this exact game on a different console. I want to be able to play this game against friends that have a different console than me.

I have heard that they plan on making the game cross play so you can play against players with a different console as you, which is a positive. They have yet to determine when that will be available, but I will be ecstatic when that happens.

But for now, Xbox players play against Xbox and PlayStation players play against PlayStation. Overall, it is a great game. I’m sure you’ll find yourself playing the game for hours with all the different game modes they have available.

As a buyer of the last ten or so FIFA’s, this one stands out as mechanically the worst one yet. Decent graphics, but I still think some of the players just look WAY OFF. and this fifa’s engine is WORSE than ’20, which is almost hard to understand! The game makes it so easy to attack, and much harder to defend.

They obviously emphasize FUT and online play because the computer is the weirdest AI to play against. on the higher difficulties, you are stuck with an AI where, no matter what player or team they are playing as, they are way more likely to out-possess you.

they do the weirdest trick moves and play in a manner that is just weird, I have no other way of describing it. FIFA 21 is bad. the only things I enjoy are the updates to manager and career mode, making it much more interactive and a fuller experience.

Please, EA, re-do your engine and gameplay mechanics for the next one. Otherwise, it will be the first FIFA I do not buy in years. This one is the first one I TRULY regret buying at launch.

A Classic. It doesn’t matter the year, FIFA is the same year after year. I haven’t played videogames for 10+ years, and I still was able to enjoy, play and win on this game. It’s so simple that it’s sort of a comfort game.

If you like difficulties, then you can play the hardest level or online, and get frustrated by the PRO video game players, but otherwise, it’s just a fun easy game to have in stock. I think one FIFA is enough in your collection, unless you obsessively care for updated rosters, otherwise, enjoy it, and get it every 5 years.

Roster are automatically updated for Champions League, but for the tournaments you will have to play with the oldest roster, and that one will not update. Or I don’t know how. A great feature is that FIFA21 comes with a tutorial built-in, so you can practice as you play, and also, you can practice before each match.

That way you gradually improve.

FIFA 11 is simply an outstanding simulation football game. Graphics are slightly improved as always. They are solid and crisp and very satisfying to look at. The only beef I have with them is that players faces are still awaiting the visual upgrade to make them more recognizable and realistic, especially in terms of the big name stars.

Gameplay is outstanding. On the easiest difficulty gameplay is way too easy and eventually becomes redundant and boring. Once you ramp it up a notch or two every changes. The AI becomes far more intelligent and setting up big plays requires timing and precision and the window for such plays closes fast.

The game becomes much more enjoyable. Goals become extremely rewarding. The biggest improvement I have noticed is how the players battle for position when the ball is in the air and how they jostle with each other when battling for control of the ball.

While these may be very subtle changes they have a huge impact on the realism of the game. All the games modes are solid, but not without their areas that long for a little bit of improvement. Be a pro mode is great.

I just find at times that when my pro is in possession of the ball and the camera zooms in that it is often very difficult to use the arrows pointing out where your teammates are as opposed to the opposition in order to pass the ball.

This makes any kind of long passes very difficult to execute without turning over possession of the ball. The numeric system (called your match rating) that is used to grade your overall performance in pro mode is very effective at keeping you motivated to stay in position and play your role.

The goalkeeper mode is a great edition to this years game. My only complaint is that it is sometimes boring just waiting for the opposition to get shots on goal to get you involved in the game. However that is the nature of the sport and that specific position and when the game finally does come to you the nervousness and intensity you feel is well worth the wait.

Overall, FIFA 11 is a fantastic game and a worthy edition to just about anyones video game collection.

Over the years, the rivalry between the two leading football games, EA Sports’ Fifa and Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer, has become every bit as intense as that between any pairing of local teams in the real-life Football League that is, positively tribal in nature.

Last year’s Fifa 10 saw EA Sports’ franchise, after years in the doldrums, roar back to form, although it wasn’t perfect. And this year, Pro Evolution Soccer will have to do something truly special to regain its crown: the new Fifa is the best in living memory.

Buy it from DS PS2 PS3 PSP Wii PC XBox 360 FIFA 11 Electronic Arts As ever with a yearly update, there are a few odd structural alterations, new features and tweaks, but the most important improvement to Fifa 11 could not be more fundamental: its underlying passing engine has been rewritten, providing much more accuracy and eliminating the “ping-pong passing” which, unrealistically, would let you play one-touch sequences that would make Cesc Fabregas green with envy.

This, of course, will expose your talent and passing vision (or lack of it); PES fans would argue, with some justification, that this brings Fifa to where their beloved game has been for some time. But it’s a welcome improvement, especially given that AI-controlled player movement has been vastly improved, too.

Central defenders no longer rush kamikaze-style towards the centre circle when faced with a breaking attacker, and full-backs are now much more likely to overlap. You can grapple realistically (always running the risk of conceding a free kick), fancy back-heels and the like are far less likely to come off, and you can now, for example, chest the ball down in your chosen direction.

Midfielders are much keener to burst into the box when crosses come in. Ricochets and deflections, too, seem much more life-like. Plus, you can no longer bamboozle advancing goalkeepers as a matter of course by the simple device of employing a chip-shot.

EA Sports also prioritised the task of making AI-controlled players take on the attributes of their real-life counterparts. Its success in this is less obvious although, playing as Tottenham, it was noticeable that Aaron Lennon could outrun pretty much any left back, and Roman Pavlyuchenko constantly strayed offside, which is accurate enough.

The main aspect of Fifa 10 which was completely broken, Manager Mode, also appears to have been fixed, in that it has been devolved as an entity and subsumed into Career Mode, along with Be A Pro you can now opt to control either your chosen player or the whole team at the start of each match, and fiddle around with transfers between matches.

Career Mode operates over a meaty 15 seasons, and for the first time, you can play through it as a goalkeeper. You can play through pretty much any cup in Europe, or design your own competition. Which may sound gimmicky, but it means that Fifa 11 is the first football game that lets 11 people play against 11 others online.

Fifa 11’s multiplayer side is impeccable, with something to suit everyone you can dive into a quick head-to-head, play as part of a team, set up a league with your friends or hit the lobbies for some random opposition.

Whenever you play online in a tournament deemed worthy of a ranking, you’ll also be earning bragging rights for your country Fifa keeps tabs on the quality of online players in ranking tournaments around the world.

Lets blame the World Cup hangover because theres just something about FIFA 11 that fails to spark our passion in the same way as last years sublime effort. It seems as though the team at EA Canada has decided this years version is all about refinement, developing the ideas that the team first introduced back in FIFA 08, tidying up its rough edges and holding back on anything perhaps considered a little too drastic.

Theres no denying FIFA 11 clearly makes improvements over last years version and as such plays a better game of football, its just the fact that it all seems a little underwhelming with marginal behind the scenes improvements on the pitch and severe reduction in the condensed assortment of modes on offer.

360 Fight for Possession is such an addition, a welcome dynamic that makes scuffles for the ball more engaging and less predictable. It reduces the brutal efficiency of pressing an opponent as the player with the ball stands a better chance of holding onto it or at least holding up the play.

That said, the canned animation sequences evidently need a little more variety. Perhaps the most important change is the introduction of Pro Passing, which effectively makes it harder to pass the ball around the pitch.

Its been designed as a bridge to narrow the gap between those who opt for Manual and those who choose Auto Assist and brings an end to the pinball like momentum for those who choose the latter. Thats not to say you cant play one-touch, tiki-taka, football, but that it just requires a little more skill and puts greater emphasis on the player performing the pass.

Which brings us to Personality+, perhaps the biggest introduction to the title and undoubtedly something that will provide the momentum for the series to continue developing over the next few years. It means individual players perform on the virtual pitch as youd expect to see them in the real world thanks to a fairly comprehensive database of player stats and traits.

Its influence over virtually everything FIFA offers is unmissable, whether its wing backs who think theyre forwards streaming up the wings (and leaving space at the back), or tenacious box-to-box midfielders covering every blade of grass.

More significantly it ties in with the various other additions and improvements so pass masters will be able to produce pin point passes where others fail and hard-hitting attackers will find it easier to hold the ball up and fend off the defender.

FIFA 11 is evidently driven more by stats and now presents a much more authentic experience as a result. However whether or not its really a standout feature to get excited about is questionable, particularly when FIFA did a reasonable job of faking it in the past.

Chiefly its appearance seems to be a response to grievances the studio had with imbalance in previous versions of FIFA. As David Rutter told us earlier in the year, if you wanted to win at FIFA 10 or FIFA 09 or FIFA 08 you took the strongest players and the fastest players and you played with that team, the nuances of everything else that is football was completely lost.

So FIFA 11 makes the improvements on the pitch that wed expect, albeit ones that dont take significant strides forwards for the franchise but do at least provide greater parity and honest admissions.

Some of the features you can clearly see providing the groundwork for the series to evolve in the future, others seem less so.

I haven’t played FIFA since 02, and back then it was fun. This could be the most frustrating game I have ever played. To start the controls seem as though they were made just to irritate. Shooting, passing and lobbing are all press sensitive.

Seems like a simple concept, it is used in Madden and other EA games. However in FIFA a tap will leave the ball rolling slowly down field where it is easily intercepted. Hold the button for even a fraction of a second longer and the ball will sail into the stands.

There is no finesses that the game boasts on the box. Next your controls change in an unperceived instant when you go from offense to defense. Another thing that is good in concept. But again it only leads to frustration.

Circle is used to attack the player with possession, it is also used to shoot. So when challenging your player will receive possession although it isn’t apparent on the screen. The two players seem to still be challenging each other.

Hit circle again to continue the challenge and you player launches the ball down field in an attempted shoot. Continuing on. You only control either the player with possession or the closest defender.

You can change manually on D, not on O. When I would attempt a long pass, the player it was intended for would just stand in one spot making no attempt for the ball. Again a defender will just run in and take possession.

Dribbling is also a nightmare. Players all have a star level. Attempt a skill out of their level and nothing happen. Even when I attempted 1 star moves my player would stumble on the ball or kick it out of their own reach.

Most often though, they simply would do nothing except run straight into a defender and lose possession. If you want to play FIFA, download it on your smart phone. I gave this game too many attempts and now it is going up for sale.

This game holds a special place in my heart, it is very nostalgic for me. The game mechanics and controls are easy and bring me back to when this first came out. But the best part of the game is the soundtrack.

This game most likely has the best soundtrack out of any game I’ve ever played. It’s amazing and brings back a wave of memories.

This is a review of FIFA 14 for PC purchased from Zavvi online store. I would like to begin by complimenting on the quality of the purchase. The shopping process was really easy to begin with. And the item arrived on time as promised.

So five stars there. Plus, you get a bonus code for 4 Gold Packs on Fifa Ultimate Team, which is pretty nice. The game has taken a huge step from its predecessor FIFA 13. Starting from the game menu – divided into very clear categories it is much easier to access everything.

I especially enjoy the ingame pause menu as it offers a very clear overview of your team straight away, without having to go to Team Management. You still have to go there in order to make changes to your team, but now, its only one click away.

As we were used to the fact that pace is all that matters on a player from earlier Fifa games, it is quite shocking to play at first. Pace is still a huge factor indeed. But this year the players strength and balance are taken into account more realistically.

Bigger and stronger players aren’t pushed off the ball so easily, while they still have the ability and skill to handle the ball. The quicker and more technical players have an edge in a 1v1 dribbling situations, but might be pushed off the ball more easily on the runs.

The biggest players with a good Heading rating are a bit overpowered in the air though, as it is very easy to win a header with them. That is why this year we see a lot more crossing from the flanks and from setpieces.

Very many decide to go with a forward that is good in air in their Ultimate Teams. Also ofcourse a couple of good pacey wingers, who can deliver the cross. The gameplay really needs some getting used to and that is why I think we see a lot of bad reviews aswell.

My point of view is, when you get the hang of it, it’s a great game. In conclusion, the game can never be perfect, but EA has taken another step forward and we should value their efforts. The game gets better every year and I can’t wait for what they have to offer in a decade.

FIFA 14 – a great game, I give it 5/5.

After playing it for over a year I can say this: The online gameplay is crappy on all the FiFas I’ve played. You will get very frustrated with Fifa games. Unless you are a calm person or someone who doesn’t mind getting cheated off easy goals and passes that should go thru to your receiver; getting called for fouls and penalties that you don’t even commit.

Using defenders that look like they are stuck in mud when they need to run and defend a counter attack or a lob pass over your head. Constantly having the short end of the stick while bumping into the opponent and always falling down or losing the ball, while the opponent has no issue.

You will want to break the disc in half! Other than that, when it miraculously responds to what you press and where your directional stick is pointing, it gets fun. You will notice some online opponents get EVERY SINGLE thing go their way.

Loose balls and offensive off-the-post shots that always go to their attacker on the rebound like a magnet. Last BUT NOT LEAST, their players seem to always run faster than your fastest guy. Yeah, then you’d find you’re down 4 in the first half for no reason at all.

You will just quit the game because it gets so absurd and stupid, and sooo frustrating. Then the next time you play you’re unstoppable! Makes no sense. I can win 8 out of 10 games and make division 2, sometimes division 1, then I’ll lose till I’m in division 4.

How? Ask someone else because I don’t get it. Play it, but expect to get ticked off at some point. Hope this helps in your FIFA- buying experiences. Have a nice day everyone.

Pros: Some classic halo moments, with some new gameplay style elements. The grapple is the coolest thing ever! This multiplayer feels more like reach and halo 3 than the more recent instalments. Cons: Without coop, this game doesnt quite have the same replay value as the others.

The fifa 20 franchise has become terrible pro clubs is lame and scripted fifa 14 15 16 17 were some of the best pro years. Since then as has plummeted and flopped. The ultimate team experiences is a lot box experience it makes you spend money on packs and gamble with your money.

The amount of scripting in fifa is hugh when you try to play proper rivals on ultimate team be prepared to surrend 5 to ten goals in your frist match the game is broken and makes you rage. It’s the worst fifa of all time this is from some who plays pro clubs with people from the United Kingdom.

The game needs work and stop using money on the FIFA ultimate team thier Rob even after spending 100 USD. You wont usally get any one uless you play rivals and squad battles and thier two broke modes.

This game use to be incredible I was ranked 50 in the world the mechanics are worse and FIFA is a 1/ 10 for me. The fennese shot is broke and their always new ways too pass which gets confusing like L1 x L1 Traingle and L1 triangle triangle double press Square for a low cross and don’t spam R2 the amount of stamina you get is horrible.

Professional players are not that slow. I’ve played fifa since fifa 2001 games really been destroyed since then. Save your money and let fifa R. I. P.

Fifa 18 game has loads of bugs that arnt getting sorted out! Could be good if they do. My FUT squad has a rating of 81 (4. 5 stars) and a chemistry of 92 but yet for me to start the next single player season in FUT on mid-high difficulty rating season I need a rating of 70-75 (3.

5 stars)?? WTF. Its not letting progress unless I forfeit this season and go for a lower rating season! I also finished a game on Squad Battles and got no “Winning Match Results Opts, Skill Bonus Opts, no Goals Opts, no Difficulty Bonus Opts”? But yet I won the game by 5 goals, loads of skill on a medium to high world class difficulty.

(Just take a look at my two pictures i’ve put with this) Also playing the Alex Hunter the journey, its not putting on traits i’ve gained and put in? They seem to be their the next time I play a game and do my stuff afterwards.

Great concept though love it. Playing Career mode, you can’t even change and choose a different formation for your team. I’m playing as a player and not the manager so I’m not sure if you are able to build your own team if you play as manager so I can’t comment on that, I hope you can.

I haven’t bought any footy games for many years since Pro Evo 5, and since fifa 2006 they changed the games game engine making the game play weird ever since. Its only this version seems a little different.

Thats why I bought it after playing the demo on pc. Also its really annoying me that in FUT I’ll play first half and all my team is in good form. The other team is not too differ to mine, then as soon as the second half starts my team are all slow even though all of my teams fitness levels are all still above 60-65% and the opponents seem faster and much better than the first half, so sometimes im getting beat because of this!!!.

I am a long time fan of FIFA, since FIFA ’98 on PC. but after FIFA ’08 I didn’t play that much. This is the first I’ve really played in a long time, and the first in a gaming console. The game-play is good, as always, although the celebration part after the goals could be more divers.

The menu is also not that user friendly. it takes some serious getting used to it. The Manager Campaign mode is nice, although I’m missing some easy to access statistics (goals, cards, etc. ) I’m sure they are in, but not as easy to find.

I like the training sessions at the beginning of the match. Helps to learn the controls (useful to me since I’m new on console). All-in-all it is a fun game to play, and really time consuming once you really get into it!.

I really like FIFA 18. However there are a few things I would change. It seems almost impossible to get to the top players without spending lots of money. The highest ranked player I’ve been able to buy is 84 overall.

If you want a Ronaldo or Suarez you’ll need millions, after 30+ games I have 10,000 max. I refuse to spend thousands real of dollars or pounds to get better player from EA player packs. Other wise it may take a year of buying and selling to work up through the ranks.

The players images are too small, I can see what’s happening to determine where the ball is or what position the players are in, especially when in a bunch of players. How ever I do like the game overall and will continue to play unless as I move into the higher ranks I won’t be able to compete with the 97 players with my 84 players.

Great graphics and gameplay. Best FIFA I have played to date.

I’m a huge fan of the new FIFA. Especially the all new ‘The Journey’, taking on breaking through into the Premier League as a footballer. It’s a nice change from the generic career mode. Being able to control what your character says in some conversations is a cool addition.

The gameplay is different. I find it more difficult to beat a player using skill or a fake shot. Set pieces have had a huge overhaul and improvements. Once you get used to the new free kick system I think you’ll find it a great change.

Ultimate Team has some changes for the good also. The new weekend tournament is a fun addition. Trying to quality for that. Also the squad builder challenges make opening packs that bit more fun because you now may need any card from a pack other than the one or two leagues you use for your squad.

Easily and by far the worse iteration of the FIFA football that has been consistently going down hill for years. It has continued to play into the hands of individuals who think good football is characterised by ball juggling acrobats that can run with the ball through teams of other players to score, at the expense of defensive prowess and a tactical appreciation of the game, good arrangement, positioning and passing.

Why on earth do we continue to buy it? Simply because we want player updates to our favourite teams and because FIFA know they can continue to charge the earth for this, while conning people into thinking they have improved gameplay, when all they have done is introduced change for its own sake.

Truly, truly awful. No longer a game for adults – this is arcade nonsense that makes no attempt to emulate a “real life” football experience.
