20 Best Curtains For Wide Windows (2023 Updated)

I am IN LOVE with these curtains!!!! They are gorgeous in person and they literally changed the look of my new home instantly. I have three big windows all on wall wall and hung these about 8 inches higher than the window AND WOW!!!!!! I can’t say enough and I am hard to impress.

They are great quality and luxuriously soft. The silver pops but in a classy ( not tacky) way. I also purchased more for my smaller Windows as well in the other color. We put these up last night and I woke up to a dark house so I can definitely say they perform well as far as blackout curtains are concerned.

Best purchase I’ve made in a while.

We live in Cornwall with an east facing bedroom and were getting blinded by the very early morning light with normal curtains. We looked for blackout curtains elsewhere and they cost an arm and a leg.

These were really cheap and totally do the job – the light only comes in the sides and top, which is a curtain rail issue, but we don’t mind because we know it’s morning without getting blinded. The designs great as well and the green colour looks great with our purple walls.

Absolutely lovely curtains. Im chuffed with the quality. I rarely leave reviews but so happy with these that I had to! They’re actually blackout too! I’ve tried a few curtains that claim to be blackout and let sunlight through.

You definitely will not be disappointed if you purchase these. (Maybe measure though, I didnt and they touch the floor, but that’s on me not the seller!).

I am particularly pleased with the color of these soft, luxurious velvet draperies. As an artist, I describe the color of gray as “fresh, silvery, medium gray” meaning not too blue-gray nor too brown-gray, as in warmer tan-gray tones.

The color is a happy marriage with my silver candlesticks, lighter grey velvet chairs with silvery steel legs. and lighter gray walls. The delivery arrived quickly, well-packaged in zippered cases to minimize wrinkling and moisture.

Their height adds a stateliness, hanging to the floor from my ten foot ceilings in my bedroom. I purchased matching gray velvet ribbon and added 2 vertical stripes at the end of an existing ivory cornice, a custom-made touch.

The drapes arrived in a timely manner. Fabric very durable and heavy. Blackout definitely. However, my perception of reflection gray did not match their gray choice. And I would have kept them but finding sheer panels in the “right” material just wasn’t working.

White linen was too white. Off-white was too tan, cream or beige. Silk was a better choice but again finding a color to match was impossible. So I have ordered silver grey drapes. Hopes these work!!!.

We bought these for a bar we were building, long before we were ready to hang them and didn’t realize they had a white lining. The plan was to have the red showing on both sides of a large storefront window.

When we went to hang them, almost the last step in a year-long project, we discovered we could not use them. Now scrambling to find an alternative. They are a beautiful color and weight though.

These curtains are not only pretty and elegant, they are made well, they let the perfect amount of light in, without the sun beaming through and heating up my home. They hang very nice. What a geat product.

Very nice quality. They are easy to care for and the wrinkles just fall out of them. When I took them down to wash they truly were dust free. After I washed them I hung them up right out of the dryer and they look great! I’ve even washed them A couple times and they are completely intact and look great still.

I will definitely be buying more, for the rest of my home. The curtains are excellent, especially if you have allergies. They repel dust, hair and pet dander as well. The textured finish is beautiful.

I ordered all 3 colors for different rooms in my home and all 3 are beautiful. It was difficult to see the color differences in the pictures on the website. The picture of the 3 curtains is L to R: Beige, Gray, Blue.

The two pictured out of the package are Blue and Gray. The curtain that is hung is Blue. The main color of the blue is more white than ivory but can certainly work with off white. The others are more ivory.

The gray is more a greige (gray and beige combined) than a true gray. I like the gray (greige) color but it was not what I was expecting. It will match well with the room I planned to use the beige so I decided to return the beige, which was a little more plain than the others.

I also though the blue was prettier than I expected (and it matches) so I ordered another set of blue to replace the set I returned. Returning to Target was very easy so I’m very pleased with the process and the purchase.

I would recommend any of the 3 colors since they are all beautiful and I really like the style.

These Clean Window Curtain Panels are amazing. With a family of allergy sufferers, it’s virtually impossible to find curtains that look nice and stylish, yet actually keep us healthy and feeling our best.

I was skeptical at first, but I decided to give these a try. Wow! These curtains are better than I could have imagined! They truly manage to somehow repel dust and other allergens, and they always look fresh and crisp.

Honestly, when my windows are open, it looks like a scene from a commercial. And, they don’t collect hair, nor do they get staticky. I was beginning to think it was impossible to find window treatments that enhance the look of the room without affecting your allergies.

I had to replace polyester sheers on 4 front windows that had deteriorated un the sun for almost 20 yrs. Found these after buying pair in store that were optic white and returned. Ordered 8 of these not expecting to work out after reading reviews.

they worked perfectly. Not white white, more on natural color. Washed and dried low heat on perm press, hung on rod immediately after dryer. They go on a regular metal curtain rod. Don’t get why people had trouble putting them on rod.

Was thinking would not be able to find old fashioned sheers to tie me over until i can have RH draperies done or shutters when i decide what to do, but thank you Target for these as now I wont have to have stress if new custom window treatments during holidays which is always the worst for getting custom stuff done and who knows may be several yrs before that happens.

I wanted a sheer curtain to have some privacy during the day while still allowing the natural light inside. These work perfectly for that. They did have creases, but the creases just worked their way out since the heat is on and they’re above a vent.

Otherwise you’ll probably want to iron them. They look nice and were perfect for what I was looking for. I have another set of curtains with these to have privacy at night. I really like the way two sets of curtains look.

if you’re looking for privacy curtains a sheer curtain isn’t what you’re looking for. If you want a curtain that you don’t have to iron, then you should look for another material. Make sure to read into what you’re getting.

I love these curtains. I’ve had them up for a year. I love that you can hang them from either the top or the bottom depending on where you want the pattern to fall. I feel like the design is versatile, not grandma looking but not too trendy either.

They’re not sheer, so you have privacy, but they’re thin enough to let the light through.

I am updating my living/ dining / kitchen. I was leery. These were so inexpensive and those flowers could have looked cheap but when I opened the box and saw the textured fabric and subtle print I was just saying Oh My Gosh.

I can’t show them hung as I need a person to hang them. But this is how well they blend with my couch.

I tried out this Bille curtain 120×108 in the gray color. This curtain works really well. I used it as a room divider for privacy and to prevent cool air from passing through the other side of the room.

The material feels pretty strong and firm, but, yet still soft to the touch. The gray color is a nice light gray not super dark. The length is really long so perfect for long length windows or patio sliding doors.

It has good size ring holes so it will fit every curtain rod with no problem.

These curtains are perfect! Well made and beautiful color. The rings at the top are sturdy, so you dont have to worry about tears or snags and its adds to the cute modern look. Perfect for living room, bedroom or as a room divider.

The color is beautiful, silky grey fits with any decor. They are light canceling and keep the room dark and comfortable to watch movies without a glare, or for in your room to not be disturbed by the rising sun.

I bought this when it was final sale, and also no reviews, but I still really like it. It is definitely “oversized”, and it is too big, even for what the style is aiming for. I am a solid Medium for almost everything with a bust of 34DD, but a Small would have been better and still oversized.

The taupe colour is beautiful and I love it. I don’t mind that it’s huge, but some might. Size down if you want oversize and not way too big.

While this jacket is designed for spring/temperatures the design allows for layering underneath and I’ve been wearing it all winter. It’s great for driving and quick trips to the store. Appears to be water resistant and wind proof and even being oversized has a flattering fit.

It would be even warmer if it had a zipper closure but I don’t mind the snaps.

Too leve for my height. I weigh 175, 5’3, curvy. It was too long and oversized. I should have got me down a lower size but the sale was final. I’ve been a fan of MPG for 10 years and I have to give this beautiful jacket away.

I’m at the tail end of my redecorating journey, and curtains were actually something I needed to finish 1 room. So I was thrilled to try the Fieldcrest Luxury Light-Filtering Back Tab Curtain Panels.

I went with Navy Blue, as it fits in more with my decor in my living room. First I want to say I was very impressed with not only the color, which is beautiful, but with the jacquard pattern design. Seeing that these had that woven material told me right away they were made of very high quality, durable, & semi heavy fabric.

I did not realize how much I needed back tab curtains in my life, and now. I’m in love with the back tabs, easy to put on, and you can’t see the curtain rod anymore. Amazing, it looks so much better than my other curtains.

I love my new textured light filtering curtains by Firecrest. Two weekends out of every month I have to work 3rd shift and work and therefore have to sleep during the day, and my bedroom gets a lot of sunlight so it’s harder to sleep.

I decided to give these a try because they are light filtering instead of light blocking. I still want a little bit of light coming in so I don’t oversleep and to still get the warmth of the sun. These curtains work perfectly and I sleep very well.

I love the textured design and they match my bedroom perfectly. They are heavy yet still thin and seen very durable. Best of all I can throw them in the washer and then hang them to dry outside or put them on low heat in my dryer which is nice because my last set of curtains I had to take to the dry cleaner, so this saves me a LOT of time and money.

They are excellent quality as well. I couldn’t be happier with them.

This curtain design is very simple but really brought together a variety of colors in the room. They can be hung either way to have the yellow on top or on bottom. The panels were very good quality and rod pocket sewn straight.

The all cotton layer was thick and that extra blackout lining made them heavy. I would grab another set to use these in my toddlers room because he tends to fall asleep quicker during nap as well as stays asleep longer in the mornings if there is minimal light.

If he sees any light whatsoever he is up and ready for the day. Also might be perfect for those who work at night and although I do not have experience with migraines or light sensitivity those may see a benefit as well.

I was in need of blackout curtains for my front windows and these chambray curtains do their job well. They are indeed 100% blackout! No more light filtering from the inside of the house out to the street.

Chambray style is similar in look to denim but softer and without the weight. 2 panels come in a pack and the pair I have are 40in x 84in, made of 100% polyester, 96% rayon. They are machine washable, which is important to me when choosing curtains.

This set is a neutral beige-ish color and easily fits into any setting. Grommet top, slides easily and fits up to a 1. 5in diameter rod. They are oeko-tex certified, meaning they are tested for harmful substances.

I am very satisfied with these curtains. They lend a casual chic look to the room.

These are just gorgeous. They are not too heavy and I like that the set comes with sheer panels. It creates a nice mixture of texture and color and really brings the room together. The sheer panels look to be loosely woven while the solid panels are largely woven.

They are extremely soft and hang nicely. The gray color does have a bit of a green tone to them so that is something to keep in mind. I also like that they do not block light out.

I love these curtains! They are a real statement piece in my home. The material is nice and soft, and these really are true black out curtains. The lace gives it a delicate feel that most blackout curtains don’t have, and I like that I can tie the lace differently if I want.

These curtains are so beautiful!!! They look magical! I was expecting some cheap looking fabrics but it’s not at all like that! It’s soft to touch and the tule is very nice to touch too. They look perfect, my husband also loves them! We got the color vapor for 2 windows in our bedroom and the color is just as shown on the website.

very delicate. they do block the light! Even though we picked a light color, they surely block the light and during the day I sail have privacy when I only close the tule part. I want more of these on our living room, just have to convince hubby to replace the old vertical blinds.

Purchased two sets for the master bedroom,I wanted the farmhouse romantic chic look and they are perfect!!! I’m so happy with everything I purchased from Hayneedle to redecorate the master bedroom. I bought new bedding, quilt and chenille bedspread all in whites, gray and black.

Surprise with the curtains they are nice weight and really darken the room when pulled across the window, look great pulled back as well. I ordered the vapor color very light dove gray, over sheer is a bit off white not quit eggshell.

I would recommend buying they are great.

I Love the look and feel of this set when brand new. The material is sturdy, it’s pretty and looks luxurious. However the tag says to dry clean. This means if taking a Kin Size to the dry cleaners they will in fact dry clean it, part of the dry cleaning process is to put it in the dryer using high heat, this evaporates the dry cleaning chemicals and fumes, you can’t air dry after dry cleaning(which actually isn’t dry at all, it’s chemicals used in a commercial size washer) The heat from the dryers will shrink up seems on the jacquard patches where the wool parts meet the polyester parts, also the threads on those parts get scratched up and puled out by the cleaning process, any animals, and or putting laying clothes out on the bed, snagging a wedding ring for example, it snags easily.

I have had two of these sets, the first one got very ruined by the dry cleaning process, so I got another one, that time having it cleaned by a different dry cleaner, explained the situation with the previous one, they said it really should just be laundered on delicate, cold water in a commercial washer, and air dried.

But because the label says to dry clean only they have to go by what the label says. I think the label really means, take to a dry cleaners and they should then determine what method to use to clean it.

My new cleaner, used a lower heat after dry cleaning it and took it out sooner and let it air dry then air out, but it still got this shrinking up of the threads in all the patchwork, not as bad as the first one, but still enough to change the look and size of the comforter.

So I don’t recommend this unless you want to deal with having issues cleaning it. The pillows that go with the set are nice quality and the shams that go with it are very nice. I have not ever tried to clean them though, so not sure how they will hold up.

The sheets that match this set, get little balls on them when you wash them like a cashmere sweater would, and that is washing them on cold in a front loader with no agitator. So then when you climb into bed, it can kind of feel like sand is in your sheets but it’s just the little balls of fabric.

For the price of one new comforter, one toss pillow, and a full lenght mirror, I was able to get a whole new look in my master bedroom. I typically do not switch comforters for several years since I use them strictly as decoration, so quality construction is a must.

had searched for some time to find a quality comforter with primarily brown and aqua colors. Although I started my search at my favorite discount stores, I was unable to find anything that met my desires in color or quality.

I am extremely pleased with my recent Galaria Cal King purchase for my master bedroom. Although some reviews I had read stated the blue appears more green, the color looks fabulous with my light aqua blue curtains and other decorations.

I was able to purchase a light aqua toss pillow on clearance the day of my purchase that really makes the aqua in the comforter pop. The comforter works wonderfully with the West Indies look I have in my room.

If you are like me and you keep your comforters for several years before replacing, I think this comforter will hold up very well. As a special note, the comforter was called a Western King instead of a Cal King.

These are lovely. I don’t usually do floral curtains like these. So, glad I ordered them. They just brighten up the room. I ordered a white window scarf to top them. Cannot wait to see the finished product.

It’s hard to believe but until getting these beautiful Sonoma Goods curtains, I had never heard of black-out curtains. These are made with sustainably sourced materials which is awesome. They’re beautiful, light colored, heavier but very well made & have nice rings that easily slide on curtain rods.

I need to get heavier rods because of how they must hang in my apartment, but these curtains are so nice! They’re a little long, they actually reach my floor but that doesn’t bother me at all. They look wonderful with my new light colored carpet too.

They’re easy to slide open & closed. They also really do a wonderful job blocking out light! It made/makes the room very dark when I close the panels. I like that because my previous curtains didn’t do that & the living room got very bright, very early.

It is nice, on weekends, when we don’t have a full schedule to be able to keep the biggest area of the apartment darker & calm until we’re all fully awake. These look & feel really nice & work really well! As a person who suffers from migraines, I’d like a set of these blackout curtains for my bedroom for when I need to be in as close to total darkness as possible.

These curtains are stylish and useful. They are true blackout curtains and let in zero light. The chenille is beautiful and compliments any home decor. These are thick but not heavy. The large holes on tp for the curtain rod makes movement very easy, quick and quiet.

I have these over my sliding glass door and it covers perfect and when open leaves very little bunching on the sides of the door. I suggest these to anyone looking for a stylish but useful need of curtains.

I got these in a beautiful teal color, they are nicely made and seem to be of decent quality. Loved the way they looked and filtered some light through because of the fabric they are made of. Unfortunately after washing a couple times ( I have kids, and pets) I have lost a couple grommets.

I probably should have washed on gentle cycle or had them dry cleaned. I still would recommend them, just wish I would have thought about washing them on gentle cycle or not washing them and having them dry cleaned.

My husband and I put up two extra-wide panels to cover the double doors leading to our bedroom’s rooftop terrace because we wanted the luxurious drape of two panels. They were easy to put up and look great.

These are AMAZING! They block out the light so perfectly it was literally like night and day. The curtains are thick, packaged nicely and so simple and easy to put up. These are going to be a favorite of ours, I can tell already.

They were very easy to hang and I like the idea of tie tabs, but I couldn’t figure out how to replicate the ties on the package, so I just went a different direction and I am very pleased with the result.

They were a little wrinkled, but I decided to hang them up for a few days before ironing them. Most of the wrinkles are now gone, but I might still get my clothes steamer out and let it work its magic.

These curtains are a little longer than my previous ones and even though they are hanging on the floor quite a bit in the photo on the package, I feel like that look works better for a living room, so I will probably move the curtain rod higher.

I was surprised to see the fabric was 97% polyester, because it looks and feels a lot like natural fiber, almost linen-like. I was happy to find that there is no strong smell as it often happens with polyester fabrics.

These curtains are just ok to me. I was looking for something a little heavier/with a linen feel, and these are completely sheer. That’s on me though, because the description does tell you that. 🙂 the fabric feels pretty cheap to me but you do get what you pay for.

They would definitely need a good steam or iron right out of the package, no big deal there. Anyway, I will be returning. I am sure for the right room they would be fine!.

Is a perfect curtain to mix prints in your decor. Can be farmhouse, shabby chic, modern, rustic…. across the board. Love the light and airiness of them. I have depression, anxiety and my body responses better to lighter colors, fabrics, and anything that lets the natural light in so these hit the mail.

They hang in my living room (4pairs) and in my dining room (2 pair) and I’m trying so hard to resist taking them into my kitchen.

I purchased the curtains thinking they are the same color as my bedspread but oh my goodness, they look beautiful. The material over the drapes is so pretty.

I definitely would not consider these blackout. They do block a little more light than a light-filtering style curtain, but doesn’t meet my expectations for “blackout”. I posted a picture to show the light filtering through.

On the bottom right, it looks a bit brighter/Lighter. We have blinds behind the curtain and that bright spot is where I lifted the blinds. So that being said, this is even less darkening since in order for it to block more light, we would have to keep our blinds closed.

I was expecting something to keep things fully dark regardless of if the blinds were open. Otherwise, this is a good quality item and would be a better fit for a room I wasn’t aiming for more darkness in.

I just now got them up. I bought the orange color one’s. I was going to get another color but, popped in my head orange would be the prefect color. So, I was in search of just the right color orange.

Not too orange, like Halloween, GOD NO! Not too of a dark orange either. See I have an open house, kitchen, dining rm. & living all open no walls. Just put down like marble flooring in the living rm.

, the kitchen, dining rm. are all real hard wood, maple. So, I thought the right orange would pull out all the colors and make the wood look warm. These drapes are really nice. Not too heavy, not too light.

Prefect for the Michigan winter’s to keep the heat inside the house. That orange is the prefect color of orange. Sure I’ll have them for many of years to come. And I would buy them again. Bought enought for 1 Slider and 2 side windows.

I already purchased some “room-darkening” panels and installed them on a rod outside the window frame. They were less expensive than these “black-out” panels, but were not blocking enough light. These “black-out” panels fit inside the window frame very tightly.

The “black-out” panels are much heavier and work better, except for leakage around the edges Two of these panels will fit inside my big window (90″wide by 54″long) perfectly. Another single panel fits my smaller window (36″wide by 54″long).

I will hang the “room-darkening” panels over them and be DONE!.

They’re not the highest quality sheer curtains out there but definitely worth of price under $5. They provide that little change/update to any room we all need from time to time. These curtains do NOT provide any sun/light blocking protection and they’re perfect on windows / doors where you want that light coming through, yet without annoying brightness “poking” your eyes.

I bought several lengths and colors over time and always come back to this brand when looking for sheers. The wrinkles and lines from packaging are frustrating! So, I washed them on gentle cycle with some softener only, put them into dryer no more than 10 mins and finally hang them up while still “wet”.

Eventually, wrinkles and lines diminished so they finally get that sheer curtains “flow”. Would recommend and would buy again.

For the price, I expected limited quality. However, I am pleasantly pleased with this purchase. The curtains are quite lovely over my vertical blinds, especially since all my windows are on the larger size (95″ length).

(Suggestion: If you desire more draping as I did, be sure to increase the amount of panels you feel is needed. it also helps with giving more privacy [they’re “very” sheer], yet still allowing light to gleam in room.

also be sure to steam or very lightly iron out folds from the packaging of panels. ).

Our house faces directly east and there are no trees blocking the sunrise each morning so we needed blackout curtains on all of our windows and French doors. These curtains do a very good job of keeping our room dark enough to sleep later than sunrise.

We have the white ones on our windows and the grey on the doors. Both colors block the sun quite well. The sun still shines in a bit around the gromets but not enough to be a problem. The fabric is very nice and looks more expensive than it really is.

We are very pleased with the curtains.

My only issue/ frustration is that there are creases where there should not be creases so the curtains don’t hang as straight as they should. The folds are not aligned with the grommets so that some creases are offset.

The factory should consider this when packaging. I’ve tried steaming and ironing with without mush success. I’m living with them as this is our “ summer” house but they would not fly for our full time home.

After buying an returning the Emery brand curtains, I bought these curtains in the white/gray, and although when hung up they look like a darker white/very light gray color due to the blackout panel in the back, they are a pure white out of the package and in bright lighting.

I bought 2 panels and had no issues with length. We got them for our balcony doors that already have blinds on them, but weren’t blackout or insulating. These curtains fixed both of those problems and look great, too.

The sun shines directly in the balcony doors all afternoon, which was effecting the temperature indoors in the summer months, and these have definitely helped lower the temp by 4, sometimes 5, degrees.

I work night shift and sleep in the living room a lot, so these work great with keeping the light out in the morning as well. Easy to open when we actually want sunlight. Not very heavy like most blackout curtains can be, which is a good thing in my opinion, but you still need a fairly heavy duty curtain rod.

Just overall great quality curtains! The only con is the somewhat expensive price compared to similar curtains from bed bath and beyond, but at least they do what they claim.
