20 Best Curl Cream For Men (2023 Updated)

I absolutely love this! I’ve tried many curly/wavy hair products by Paul Mitchell, Kenra, OUI and a few others and this one by far takes the cake. It smells great as well. I use it after I get out of the shower on damp hair and it takes away any frizz and leaves my hair so much fuller looking.

I even have closer to wavy hair and this turns my waves into beautiful crunch! If you use too much product it kinda seems like it might leave a crunch but I just kinda brush it through with my hands and it’s fine.

Can’t give this product anymore better praise!!!!!! Go for it!.

I use this on my curly hair— a little goes a long way— to hold my curls but to keep them soft and not crunchy. I put it on after my clients when they get a perm and many of my other clients who used to use Redken Curl converted to this because it gives the same feel but without the hefty price.

Plus, it’s easier for them to get on their own.

I’ve tried so many curl products in my time. This one takes some getting used to. It works best for me if I leave my hair sopping wet and apply a dime to quarter size amount to my hair, rake it through, then scrunch.

If your hair is too dry when you use it, it can leave your hair feeling a little dry and crunchy, so beware of that. I have a mix of 2c and 3a curls and this works well to enhance them!.

I love the smell and feel of this leave-in hair product; it holds the curl and cuts down on frizz. However, I found by the third day my hair was starting to dry out. I used this product twice a week for several weeks, hoping my hair would acclimate.

Unfortunately, that never happened. I have since switched to another brand product.

I have long naturally curly hair. My hair wants to frizz if I just use shampoo and conditioner, so I’ve looked for a long time and tried many products to reduce the frizz but still keep my naturally curly look.

So many products leave my hair crunchy and I hate that. I tried different amounts of product but it doesn’t seem to matter on some products. However Aquage Curl Defining Creme is not like anything else I have ever tried.

After shampooing and conditioning my hair, I squeeze out the excess water with a curly hair towel. Then I comb through to remove the tangles. Next I lean over so that my hair is falling to one side. I put a small amount of product in my palm, no bigger than nickel size.

I rub my hands together lightly so that product is on both palms. Then I use the “praying hands” technique to smooth the product from mid-shaft down to the ends. Next I flip my hair to the other side and repeat the process.

Finally I flip my hair forward over the top of my head and apply more Aquage. This may sound like a lot of product but I really do not need to use very much. Next I use a wide-tooth comb and comb through my hair so that the product is evenly distributed.

Then I scrunch my hair in my hands, first flipping my hair to one side, then the other side and once again over the front as I lean over. I check my hair in the mirror and scrunch any other places that need it.

After that, it’s air dry all the way! I end up with beautiful, soft, wavy, shiny curls with not a bit of stickiness or crunchiness. While I find that other products seem to make my hair feel dirty very quickly, Aquage does not make my hair feel that way at all.

This is a wonderful product and I highly recommend if you want beautiful, natural-looking curls without frizz or crunchiness.

I have tried every curl product on the market for my 3C mixed chick, thick curly hair. I’m growing out a pixie cut and decided to just wear my natural curls as my hair grows. I wash and deep condition practically every day trying to find (or wash out) the right product for my thirsty curls.

I use permanent color every six weeks to cover gray. The moment I squeezed this from the tube and saturated my damp hair I knew it was different and my search is over. This cream immediately made my hair feel slippery, soft, and manageable.

The smell is a bit spicy & odd at first but fades to a very natural scent. I combed it through and my hair started air drying and curling into its natural pattern faster than it ever has. I have a few long, straight (asymmetrical cut) pieces that I always have to finish with a curling iron, blow-dry brush, or roller due to over-processing and they curled naturally too! After my hair dried it was soft, shiny, and gorgeous.

I visited Ulta in hopes of purchasing a tube of Aquage Detailing Creme, but they were out. The sales associate suggested I try the Curl Defining Creme. This is a lighter product but I like it. My hair is short with some waves and I’m in the process of going naturally gray, so I’m dealing with some wiriness and flyaways.

The Detailing Creme was perfect for this in that it had more tackiness and the right amount of control for me. The Curl Defining Creme will work perfectly, especially when mixed with a bit of control wax or paste.

This wasn’t a bad swap, and curly girls should love it. I haven’t met an Aquage product I didn’t like; the line came highly recommended by my hairstylist daughter.

I LOVE THIS DANG PRODUCT !! I tried it once and have continuously bought it because I use it pretty much daily. Leaves beautiful curls without the excessive oily residue and extremely soft. I get so many compliments on my hair because of this product! My hair has become so much healthier and softer.

I’ve tried so many other expensive hair products but this one here is my fav ! And it’s totally inexpensive! It has become my go to and must have !.

An amazing product for my dry, frizzy hair! This smells like warm, smooth coconut 🥥! Compared to alternatives, this has a VERY strong scent, so be cautious if you’re sensitive to fragrances! I would improve this product by offering this is a lighter lotion for those with thinner hair not to overdo it, however you can use less product and avoid applying to your scalp to avoid weighing your hair down.

This met all of my expectations, my hair is less frizzy and my curls have more definition. I would recommend to everyone with curly hair!.

I have really thick naturally curly hair. It is hard to maintain so for the longest time I was blowing it dry straight. Of course it takes a good 45 minutes to blow dry my hair so many days I just wear it curly to avoid the drying time and the heat damage to my hair.

I’ve tried so many different products over the years and some will hold the curl but make my hair sticky or crunchy and some just don’t do anything for the curl. I got a sample of this recently and decided to give it a shot.

It actually worked really great. I found that I don’t need too much of this and just use about a nickel size on my wet hair. Once out of the shower I put in about 3-4 drops of argan oil throughout my hair followed by a small amount of this.

I let my hair air dry and then lightly crunch my hair with my palms. I found that this helps define my curls and helps prevent frizzing. I was surprised that it takes so little to work since I have a lot of hair.

I’m definitely a fan of this and will be buying more in the future.

I absolutely positive love love love this hair product. Its called “Stricktly Curls” by @marcanthony. I started using this a little over a year ago and I’ve been in love ever since. @influenster -My hair does whatever it pleases, but works best this a few different products that are my go to’s.

This is creamy and molds, shapes, and holds my curls all day. It keep my curls pretty and curly all day. Plus it doesn’t ever leave my hair crunchy, they are always soft. *So a) holds and automatically “curls” my hair (i put it in which scrunching my hair with my hand a a little, but it does the rest.

wizardry I tell ya. ) And b) holds all day curls, keeping them soft and never crunchy. -Personally, I make sure my hair is damp first, then scrunch with my hands the product. If I could. I would rate it closer to 10 🌟 stars!!!! I recommend many of @marcanthony products.

I have low porosity hair that’s curly in spots and wavy in others. my hair LOVES the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, but my skin gets very rashy when I use that so I’ve been on the hunt for something else that controls frizz and provides good slip.

This is NOT IT for me. I have tried it after 5 washes now in various amounts using various techniques, and I just find that this either has very little effect, or if I use more, it makes my hair weighed down.

Additionally, I find the smell oppressive, but that’s just a personal preference. This may be a great product for someone with a different hair type, and I got it with a coupon so it was inexpensive enough that I won’t return it, but I definitely won’t buy this again.

I do like the Marc Anthony Strictly Curls Curl Envy Curl Cream that comes in a box, so I would consider trying that one if you’re on the fence!.

I randomly picked this up at a drugstore after reading the ingredients and the claim that it does three things, conditioning, definition, hold. I have not used it alone by itself, that never happens with curly hair.

But I have been getting consistent results lasting 2-3 days and my hair doesn’t dry out and still feels moistured when I wash! I run it through wet (not soaking but not damp) hair, and top it off with the Marc Anthony Jelly.

You have to know how much water your own hair needs.

I have fine, thin 3A curls, about 50% grey. I liked Pura D’or’s Curl Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner so much, I decided to give the curl cream a try. The consistency is very thick, almost a paste. The smell is herbal, not the coconut or flowery smell curl creams tend to have.

(Probably because it’s marketed as a unisex product. ) The smell doesn’t linger once it dries. I was a little hesitant to use such a thick product on fine, thin hair, but it works. I used a pea-sized amount on wet shoulder length hair and my hair isn’t weighed down at all.

In fact, I have more volume than normal. My curls are bouncy, shiny and soft. I used gel over the cream because my hair frizzes up if you look at it too hard, so I can’t speak to the curl cream’s ability to prevent frizz.

It definitely moisturizes.

I really like Pura D’or products so I was excited to try this one, however it’s just not good for me. It made my hair greasy and stringy and gross looking. I tried it a second time and just used a tiny amount and still hated it.

I accidentally got a little bit on my scalp and it stung. Luckily Vitacost gave me a refund.

Originally bought this from the company directly & i was skeptical at first because let’s face it trying a new product is always nerve wracking because it’s always hit or miss. I’ve got to say i was pleasantly surprised.

I SWEAR by the Devaurl Coconut Styling Cream & I’ve got to say this gave me similar results and for an even better price. It does not have a strong hold the way Devacurl does but honestly i prefer my curls lightweight so it works for me.

Also i’d like to add i have crazy curly hair & i live in Florida where it’s humid ALL THE TIME & my hair stays phenomenal. It does have a pretty strong smell in a good way. Not quite as great smelling like Devacurl but it’s not obnoxious.

I would definitely recommend this to all my curlies out there. Do not hesitate just give it a shot, it will not disappoint.

I received this product free in exchange for my honest review. I have extremely fine hair that gets weighed down really easily so I am not one to use a whole lot of styling products in my curls generally.

If I am wearing my hair natural i traditionally only use a max of two products, leave in conditioner to detangle and one cream or moose to help with definition. I really enjoyed that I could use this curl cream as a one and done styler and that it fit into my routine seamlessly.

It left my hair feeling soft yet looking defined and did not leave it feeling heavy and full of crunchy product and weighed down like most cream formulations do on my hair type. While I really did enjoy the product I did not personally see my hair doing anything super special or behaving much different than how it does with my current go to products.

If you are unhappy with your current routine and are looking for a good curl cream I would say it’s worth a try but I wouldn’t say run out and buy it if you are looking for something to change your life, this isn’t that.

It is a nice standard performance curl cream that will give you definition and help tame frizz. I did like that it comes with a nice amount of product so it will last me a long time since so little is needed in my hair type.

Unfortunately due to a recent case of COVID-19 and my loss of smell I am unable to comment on the fragrance of this particular product but I really do love that Ouai has released a fragrance free version of this product as well since I normally am not a fan of their products scent as most of them are rather strong and overwhelmingly floral for my preferences.

I really hope more brands start to make fragrance and silicone free products like this more easily available.

I received these products for free from Influenster and Zotos Professional in exchange for my honest review. I want to start off by saying that my hair is wavy, not curly, so I can only speak to waves, not curls.

This product did leave my hair feeling soft, and my ends felt like they did have some more moisture since that is the driest part of my hair. My hair had less poof and some more wave to it about a day after I put this product in.

The first day after I washed and used this product, my hair was still it’s usual ball of poof, but the second day, it had settled down nicely. I’m not 100% sure, but since I used the All About Curls products I was sent, my color treated hair did seem to lose some of the color.

Now, it could just be my grays because they are intense and come out strong, but I used this product and the others about 2 weeks after I had my hair professionally dyed at the salon. After a few days, I started to see some gray peaking through.

Like I said, not sure if it was this exact product, a combination of me using all the ones I received, or just a fluke since I couldn’t run scientific tests to find the exact cause. Just beware using this product right after your hair is dyed.

I took off 2 stars because after the second day of having used this product, my hair felt really weighed down and limp. It looked kind of raggedy to be honest. I don’t wash my hair every day or even every other day, but I had to when I used this product.

Just because it didn’t really work for me, doesn’t mean it might not work for someone else, especially with truly curly hair.

I received the all about curls cream complimentary from influenster for testing and reviewing purposes. My hair is very thick, dry, and wavy, and is chin length at the moment. This cream doesn’t have much of a scent which I love because I can’t tolerate heavy fragrances and I don’t like for my hair to smell like perfume.

It’s not greasy, its lightweight, and only takes a small amount. I don’t usually wear my hair curly; I usually flat iron it. But for the purposes of testing this product, I washed my hair, and then applied my usual products along with this cream and let it airdry.

This cream was hydrating, non sticky, did not make my hair oily, and did not make my hair feel crunchy or stiff. It left my hair super soft, hydrated, held the curls until I washed it out, kept my hair frizz free and protected from this Louisiana humidity.

I was also able to brush my hair after it was dry and it maintained the curls. Usually if i wear it curly, I can’t brush it after it’s dry because it turns into a poofy nightmare but this cream allowed me to actually be able to brush it and style it after it was dry which I normally can’t do if I wear it curly after it dries which is one reason why I flat iron my hair 99 percent of the time.

This cream is definitely a game changer and I would definitely recommend it!.

1 fl. Oz. tube with a lime green background and black writing which makes it easy to read about the product. The thick white cream defines, softens, and sets my curls in about 20 to 30 mins with ease.

It says to apply to damp curls but I apply it in the shower after conditioning my curls. Then I will slowly comb through my hair to disturb the cream and squeeze out some water. Next I place a turbine over my hair and leave it for about 20 mins.

I tried this cream a few years ago and didn’t really care for it. It was super moisturizing but just didn’t have the hold I wanted. To be fair, I used it for a wash n go and NOT a twist out. I only do wash n go’s.

However, I decided to pick it up again a few days ago while grabbing my usual holy grails (the hair wash, leave in, and mask from this line). This time, I applied the leave in on damp hair and then waited until my hair was about 85% dry before going in with this cream (on a wash n go).

OMG the definition and hold! Absolutely amazing! I found that my hair has a lot less frizz and requires much less product when applied to nearly dry hair (I’m 3c/4a btw).

I love it and it smells amazing! This product I use on both my daughters hair mine occasionally. It’s a very soft hold. Smooth creamy texture. Applies very easily. I would recommend this product I really like this brands gel for a firmer hold that also does not leave your hair crunchy either.

Love the Hanz De Fuko hair products as of lately. The Gravity Paste is pretty awesome – smells lovely – I honestly thought it would’ve had a more High Hold as labelled. found maybe it had a 85% hold.

like not everything stuck and molded how I wanted it to. But hey, it’s a great product and a great brand. When I buy the next batch, will go for the uber, ridiculously hard-hold one – forgot the name, but MASC have it.

Hanz de Fuko products are hands down the best on the market. I have been using them for years and have never switched up. The fact that not much product is needed means you can expect it to last a long time.

While the products remain on the “pricier” end of men’s hair products, it is for good reason. The gravity paste does the job – every time. The fact that it doesn’t “activate” until you run it in your hands is awesome and it provides the perfect hold with a medium shine.

The main ingredients are great too! You don’t have to worry about any damaging chemicals in a Hanz de Fuko product!! 10/10!.

I use the Hanz De Fuko gravity paste daily after washing my hair and it does the job perfectly. You only have to use a very small amount worked through dry hair to style it the way you want. You can also use a little amount of hairspray to give it extra hold all day long.

It washes out really easy and there’s no residue left in your hair at all. Highly recommended!.

I’ve always loved the products from this brand but hadnt used in a few years. Got back to this one and it is definitely different from what I was used to. It feels lighter and doesnt have the same effect, but still, a good one.

It does leave the hair crispy when dry but the secret is to scrunch a bit more once dried. Curls will be fuller and super defined. I havent found a better product than this in Ireland but it is definitely one of the best here.

I have been in the market for a new hair gel that’s good for my wavy/curly hair. Had been using DevaCurl’s Light Defining Gel for a long time as it was just what I was looking for back a couple years ago.

But recently I have developed some kind of allergy to it. Makes my scalp itch like crazy. So I gave this a shot with an Ulta hair stylist’s recommendation. The bottle seemed small but I was willing to try a new product by a high regarded styling brand such as BedHead.

The bottle had a nicely designed pump making it easy to use. I had not realized until I was done styling my hair with this product that I had used about half of the whole bottle to achieve the hold and shine I normally go for with my DevaCurl gel.

I was quite shocked. Way too much product used for a brand I thought that would require only a very small amount of it’s product to get the look I wanted. I would definitely not buying this cream again.

I will stick to a gel because I tend to think that curl defining creams do not have a lot of hold or styling power as a gel would. Back to the drawing board.

I think this is really a great product for people with curly hair. It has a nice scent. It really gave my curls great definition. It helped with my frizzy hair. It is a good value for the price. I would definitely buy it again.

I was extremely disappointed in this product, especially for the price! It did not do anything for my hair that it says it does. It made my hair look and feel scrunched. crunchy and sticky! It did not help define my waves/curls.

It looked like I walked out of the early 2000s with that wet-looking scrunched hair. But also did not help prevent frizz. My hair looked and felt sticky and greasy. I normally wash my hair every other day or two, but I would have to wash my hair daily with this product in it.

it made my hair turn into a rats nest sleeping overnight. Total disaster. And for the amount of money I paid for one bottle of this! There went over $34 down the drain. I’ve used the Moroccanoil hair oil before and liked it, so I had high hopes for this curl cream.

Like all products, whether you like this or not will depend on what you are looking for and how you use it. I am always looking for something to take away frizz and give moisture to my very dry and damaged waves/loose curls and provide them with a bit of definition.

I found this product to be very moisturizing and it is good at smoothing out frizz so it checks those boxes. Because it’s cold out I’ve been diffusing my hair, which means the definition isn’t quite as perfect as if I just air dried, but I’m still happy with the results.

I also enjoy the smell. I feel like the scent is slightly different from some other Morrocanoil products but still pleasant. It weirdly reminds me of Nivea cream (just me?), which I don’t mind. The one caution is that if you use too much, it could weigh your hair down and make it look dull/greasy.

My hair is just above my shoulders, about average thickness, and I used two pumps the first time, which was too much. Used only one pump the next time and it was much better, hair was softer and didn’t look like it had product in it.

I just knocked off one star because I tend to only give five stars to what I consider amazing holy grail products, which for me this isn’t quite that level. It’s very good and I like it but I like some other curl creams just as much.

The best product you will ever buy. PERFECT for wavy hair! Enhances curls! Use two pumps depending on hair thickness (mine is thin), scrunch, and you’re done. My favourite product of all time currently.

Makes hair so soft. ONLY PRODUCT I have ever used on my hair that has no crunchiness. It feels like my hair but better. More silky. Feels like NO product is in my hair if that makes sense! Please just go buy this product right now.

It will be the only product you need.
