I have only had these wheels for a short time so can’t comment on the longevity of them but they ride great so far. I got them for a bit of help learning to slide on a surfskate and they seem to be good and smooth for that.

I love these wheels! I was looking for something to set up my cruiser/park board with that could handle rough streets and still be fast carving the bowl and I found them, these things are fast, I am flying down the bike path and at a decent speed powersliding no problem, cruising over beat up streets and handling cracks with ease.

An all terrain champ, if your looking to set up a versatile cruiser, ditch board, or rough pool and street surfer this is your wheel. I’m flying around the neighborhood getting maximal enjoyment out of the driveways due to these bad boys.

If you’re looking for a solution for dealing with the slippery, dust-covered skatelite of indoor parks, this wheel is for you. It’s also functions as a handy switch-out commuter wheel that won’t slip-out as much as your 78a Superjuices after a rainy Seattle day.

The 54mm is all you’ll need, as the larger sizes grip a little too well on dry concrete, making stopping difficult. Bottom line: This is a great hack for those situations when you NEED grip on your regular shred sled.

Those looking strictly for cruiser wheels may wish too look elsewhere, however.

I have had a set of these for about two years now skating them every now and then. This is a semi cruiser wheel that still gives you a bit of hardness to make it feel more like a standard skate wheel.

Definitely more buttery than a 99A wheel but they don’t actually feel super soft. It is a wheel that you want to use on really crusty streets but don’t expect a good slide because they do grip a fair bit more than your average hard wheel.

It is a wheel that is in a bit of a no mans land as it isn’t really good as a cruiser wheel or a trick wheel but I have enjoyed the living daylights out of them anyways.

Hi all, Skid here. I’ll be 44 this November and still enjoy skateboarding! My first board was a Santa Cruz exploding clock skateboard 30 years ago as a 8th grade graduate gift for my folks. (Yes, I got the reissue!) I got wheels to go with my new deck too! I’m enjoying the Slime Ball ‘s 78a softness wheels.

I bought a set of 60mm and 66mm so that I may have options for my skateboard set up for the day. I’ve noted years ago that larger , softer wheels take to a poor boys street better than small hard wheels.

Plus the weight of the wheels gives the extra momentum to pull the board full around during a kick flip. Making my skateboard more like a cat , always landing on it feet! That’s my review, time to sk8! Skid.

Built a cruiser with these. The ride and feel was classic Slime, lots of fun and so smooth. Great for skating rough ditches and asphalt! Good traction, no sliding out. Light enough to still Ollie and what not.

These will never fail you. I’ve tried a lot of cruiser wheels and these are as top dollar as OJ’s Mini Super Juice. Great for quipped traveling (ollie over here and there) than tech but are strong to move without a bearing spacer.

I really like whats going on with these wheels! 92a is that great sweet-spot between hard wheels and soft cruiser wheels! I have been searching for a wheel that could handle imperfect ground comfortably, while still being able to do nose & tail slides without sticking.

these handle the job beautifully! They don’t have that bouncy feel that cruiser wheels have, yet they can move through rough ground quite well like a cruiser! I’m stoked to find that they can nose & tail slide and perform like a street wheel.

I have tried all of the available hardnesses of wheels that are out now, and I can easily say that anything softer than these 92a’s will stick to a fully waxed curb. These actually slide! Amazing! So, that leads me to say that these wheels can be used as a standard street wheel.

Finally, a street skating wheel that can actually roll through the streets! I don’t know about where y’all live, but most streets in my city (Phoenix, AZ) are not perfectly smooth. Its a pain in the A** to push anywhere on a normal street.

But not any more! These wheels WILL 100% get you through the streets much smoother than any 97a-or-higher wheel ever could! And you’ll be sliding and grinding just as easily as you were with the hard wheels! Its a game changer for sure.

My only negative thought: Why is there no option for these 92a’s made in a more “street shaped” wheel??? RICTA–if you see this post. Please shave off a little bulk/weight from these and make a new option that caters to street skating.

Ricta makes wheels that look so classy, you almost feel bad for skating them. The chrome version of the Clouds is no exception, but, besides being really really ridiculously good looking, these wheels are lighter and more useful in street skating applications than any other ‘cruiser/hybrid’ formula wheel that I have tried.

And I have tried a few. They won’t slide or pop quite like a typical (hard) street wheel, and this takes some getting used to. The trade off is not slamming when you encounter pebbles or sand or whatever other debris gets in your way out there in the chunky streets.

These wheels have become a mainstay on my day to day commuter set up.

These wheels have better stability for your bearings to recover for more speed and smoother rolls with/without spacers. Not too bulky and more able for board feel than the Slimeball Mini O. G. 78s’ however they are not as fast after break-ins compared to Slimeballs.

Really smooth sailing if you take care of them. Ricta rules.

Bought 2 sets of these. They obviously look great. Rides really smooth, using them on al sorts of terrain. Do note they wear pretty fast. 2-3 days of flat ground tricks and there is slight chip on the inside of the wheels, but nothing hindering the riding experience so far.

So not bad.

I like these wheels. They don’t flat spot easy. You can do great powerslides with them without getting flat spots.

They conical shaped wheels are nice but the 100s I find a little bouncy when landing trucks. Good for transition and street riding.

SIZE: The 52mm feels like the perfect balance, no wheelbite but large enough to get enough speed. They are pretty thin, which makes them feel lightfooted but they are so thin that my spacers did not fit inside them! HARDNESS: Hard enough to get a bit of slide (great for tricks), but barely soft enough to give a bit of comfort.

Using them with shock pads solves that problem for me. SPEED: These wheels are FAST. I could not imagine that wheels could make such a difference in speed. LOOKS: The color of the material is not as yellow as on the picture, which is a good thing to me.

The Spitfire-circle was not printed exactly in the center, which gives it a bit of a wobbly look when spinning. Turning the wheels inside out solved this for me.

Totally recommended for those who love to slide, and want a harder wheel that lasts a long time. The material is really high quality, they ride a lot smoother than other wheels of comparable hardness, and dirt/debris does not get embedded in the riding surface like on some other wheels.

They also do not appear to wear as quickly as my previous set of wheels. I bomb a lot of hills, and speed check a lot so usually wheels wear out pretty fast for me. They can be a bit slippery the first session or two, but once they\’re broken in they grip a little better.

The slide on these wheels is first class, super easy to break into a powerslide whenever you want and it doesn\’t stick on nose and tail slides. The hype on these is considerable, but totally justified.

Awesome wheels. Forgotten what decent, fresh wheels felt like. Should be even better once they’ve worn in a bit. Slightly more dear than most skate wheels but definitely more worth getting a better product.

I got Spitfire Formula four and Bones stf and spf\’s. The spitfire\’s escell when it comes to powersliding and flat spot resistance. The Spitfire seem just a little bit softer and slidier at the same time.

Bones are harder, they make a harder (clay-like) sound on landings and \bark\ better (bwwwuuuuuhhh!), but they \stick\ more when I want to slide them. Weird right, you\’d expect the hardest wheel to slide best but not so, maybe the formula four\’s secret ingredient is a little wax mixed in there 🙂 If you want to stick (fx on vert / skate-lite) then mayb bones, but for the allround performance go for the spits.

The wheel was great out the box, it made everything easily rideable and smooth. I found out that it’s very unslidable, it sticks to the ground more frequently compared to a spitfire ,but I think that’s the disadvantage of having a soft wheel, it didn’t have a problem doing slides with it, with enough wax that’ll do the job.

Over time of using this wheel it tends to harden more, making it not feel the same when it was out the box.

These feel so good under your board. They slide when you need them too but grip very well even on skatepark grounds. I love Ricta Slims

Look good and feel good. Not too slick and not too stiff, they are just right. I can still slide my tricks if I want to and I’m not slipping when I dont want to.

These wheels are sweet. They resurrected my longboard after a decade spent collecting dust. But, the real gem in this transaction is the Staff. I order the wrong size wheels initially. As promptly as this first order came in, we could see that they wouldn’t work (too small).

My son fell in love with the color though and lamented the idea that we’d return them for the wheels I’m reviewing now. Never fear I told my boy. The staff will hold on to these small wheels (original order) for us until you are ready to use them on your own board.

I emailed Brad to ask for this and he replied in the affirmative that they would be happy to take care of my son’s wheels for him until he is ready. With this reply, Francis (my son) was put to ease and allowed the original wheels to return to the mailbox.

Polyurethane is among the best in the world, consistently smooth high-quality long lasting and rarely flat spots. I have been riding Powell Peralta products since 1981 still owns several sets of Powell Peralta wheels and Im stoked to add these to a vintage board in my collection and yes I read them all.

Great wheels. My 9 year old son loves these wheels on his old school SC Jeff Kendall board with Indy 159’s. Since I gave him this board his confidence has continued to improve on the half pipe at Vans – Orange Block.

They give him extra grip on a very slippery skatelite surface. He also does better in the Combi bowl due to the extra speed and stability these provide.

So far so good! Been riding them for about two weeks, skating about 3-4 times out of the week around parks and street. Been doing some sticky nose slides and tail slides on the park tranny and no flats spots so far! Stoked on these!.

Worst wheels I ever tried. My board sounded like a helicopter after a of week skating. Instant flat spots. After a month use I switched them and the bearings just drop out. Terrible!

Ok wheels for indoor park, quite slick. For outdoors it’s fine, just doesn’t roll as good as other 101 duro formulas.

Dude the wheels are amazing. Ive had em for about 6 months and they DO NOT flatspot. I would reccomend these wheels not really to beginners? But the softer formula fours would be better for them. 97 duro about.

Ive tried 101 97 and 94 duro but i dont really like any of them as much as this. Plus its very. Stylish. Love the wheels. Dont flatspot. Amazing quality.

Best wheels ever! No doubt! I have ridden several wheel brands and Spitfires are simply the best. They are super durable, have a nice and controlled powerslide, ride smooth, are fast and also just look good on your board.

I would definetely recommend these (conical fulls) because they are just the best. These are the goldilock wheels for me!.

I was interested in these wheels because I have just started to skateboard for the first time in a long, long time, and was shocked at how rough my old 99as were. were they always this noisy and rough? I decided to look for softer wheels with the dimensions of a street wheel and chances upon these spitfire 80hds.

I have been a fan of spitfires for years, my old wheels were sin and tonics, if anyone can remember that far back. The wheels are very fast, yet smooth, but not so smooth that the roughness disappears.

They grip the street and were made for cruising and carving, but one thing theyre not made for is cess slides, which Ive found to be impossible, and was my primary way of braking, having never being a fan of tail drags or foot drags, thats now the only way to brake.

Fantastic wheels for cruddy streets and janky sidewalks. They’ll work on concrete too, and are pretty nice in wooden bowls. Big contact patches so don’t expect to do a lot of sliding around but they gobble up cracks and spit out little stones easily.

Definitely my go-to wheel when I don’t know what surfaces I’m going to encounter. These are a little bouncy for some tricks, but generally a pleasure to ride. And 55mm means not needing risers on your popsicle board.

These are good soft wheels, they are smooth on rough surfaces for cruising. They came fast (within a few days), and we’re a nice change to the generic 55mm wheels I was using. Do you want a smooth ride ? Do you want more grip on the rough terrain ? Are you looking to use an old skateboard for a cruiser ? These are for you !.

This is a very interesting wheel, I’ve been a fan of f4 99a and I also have oj nomads which I love. Compared to f4 these slide almost as good, from my powerslide tests on brand new wheels they slide very similar to f4 but it’s easier to get out of a slide and it’s more controlled.

It takes a little more effort to get into a slide but very little more. I’m sure when they break in they’ll be just as good. They are easier to slide than my ricta speedrings 99a. Also being 95a they feel harder than 99a f4 and way harder than the nomads.

but at the same time they are sooo much smoother and faster than f4 on any terrain, there’s no comparison and they eat any cracks or pebbles. They keep the speed much better than f4 on crusty terrain.

My only minor complaint is that they are very loud but i can live with that. The sound of the powerslide is very unique and nasty in a good way. 🙂 it feels so weird to ride a wheel that feels hard as a rock but rides crust like a soft wheel.

They’re almost exactly what I expected. Until I did a revert on flat and it made this crazy high pitched squeal. After I broke them in they were 🙂
