The most basic crochet stitch for a sweater is a single crochet. You can make a sweater with just a single crochet stitch, but it will be a very simple design. To make a more complex sweater, you can use a variety of different crochet stitches, such as the double crochet, half double crochet, or treble crochet.

It’s just 30 days, but it feels so long. My friend won’t order because of the shipping times &cost, but despite those petty issues, I’m thrilled I have my book. Yes hardback, not a paperback. Price was great, packaging was a little over the top.
But, it arrived in perfect condition. What is it “They” say, Don’t judge a book. Just sayin’.
This book is not paperback but instead a hard bound book and it is loaded with many different patterns of stitches you can learn. All of them are done in color which I really liked seeing. It has lots of other information as well on crocheting.
A wonderful resource book to have for sure. It will be my go to book!.
Step by step detailed instructions, beautiful photos of just about any design you can imagine and detailed charts. I consider my skills to be intermediate and I crochet left-handed, but this book is easy enough for me to follow and not be intimidated by the instructions for even the more difficult motif and square designs.
I’d checked it out from my local library first and loved it so much, I just had to purchase it for myself! Can’t wait to make something new and awesome!.

Beautiful photographs and designs! The illustrations are clear and well-described. The patterns are unique and oh so lovely. I’ve ordered my yarn and can’t wait to get started on the sweater on page 92!.
Although I had to return this item because it just did not look right on me. I am heavy set (thanks to my love of food) and have developed “love handles”. If this was a bit longer I would have loved it! Other than a length issue, it’s good quality and the price is reasonable.

I had been looking for a lightweight navy cardigan to go over summer jerseys and with skirts and dressy slacks. When I saw the mixed-stitch crochet cardigan, I decided that it would be perfect. I am very pleased with my purchase in many ways.
I like the color, fabric weight, and design. It is serving its purpose for me. I only hope that my friends and family won’t soon realize that I am now wearing it every Sunday as though I have no other sweaters in my wardrobe!.
I ordered a dress in the same Admiral Navy Blue with the Crochet Cardigan in the same color. The cardigan was backordered and when it arrived, the color was enough different that it would not work with the dress.
The cardigan seemed to be well made and just right, but wanted it to match the dress.

Classic duster style in versatile Mary Maxim Ragg yarn will flatter every outfit. Shown in Denim. Here a special treat for everyone who loves to crochet a sweater, but always sees more knit options. The trends in sweaters now are longer, looser and comfy, and this cardigan hits on all of those! A deep ribbing at the bottom sets off the fashionable knee-length duster style.
The sweater is crocheted with our Mary Maxim Starlette Ragg yarn, available in four classic colors. Our Ragg yarn is made of three strands twisted together, two in a soft natural and the third in the named color.
This spin gives the yarn the classic look of country living. The sweater is worked in the easy linen stitch. Once you get in the rhythm of the two-row repeat down, the pieces work up quickly. After a little shaping at the waist, the Back is worked straight to the shoulders, as there is no shaping the Back for the loose, relaxed drop shoulder sleeves.
Pocket linings are worked separately, then inserted onto the front for the sleek set-in look. Gentle neckline shaping along the open front makes for a great fit. The drop shoulder sleeves do not have any cap shaping, so the pattern is extra easy to complete.
When working the ribbing at bottom of sweater and sleeves, you make front and back post stitches to create the look of knit ribbing. This gives the pieces an easy stretchy feel and elasticity. After the pieces are sewn together, the ribbing is repeated up the length of the fronts and across the back for a neat, finished look.
Available in four sizes, with a chest measurement from 36 to 48 this works up so quickly you l want to make one for everyone who loves receiving (and bragging about!) a homemade gift of love. –.
Just finished knitting this cardigan. I am a very experienced crocheter, but have been knitting for only a couple of years. Instructions very easy to understand. The cardigan turned out very nicely with one small problem.
The sleeves are about 3” too long. I will just cuff them. I wondered while knitting them if they weren’t going to be too long. I think the first length on the sleeves should have been 16” rather than 19”.
I have not started it yet but I checked out the yarn and very pleased with it. I have used this brand before so I expected the superior quality and wasn’t disappointed. I looked over the instructions and this is the first sweater in going to make.
The instructions are pretty easy to read, and doesn’t look to intimidating for me to try. I am truly looking forward to making this sweater!.
So I have a bit of a thing about jumpers that don’t have long sleeves. If the weather is cold or middling – then I kind of want to wear something that will keep my whole arm warm and if the weather is middling to hot, then I don’t want to be wearing a knitted material.
so although this top is definitely well made and has some style to it, I don’t really understand how to wear it or when to wear it. Needless to say it went back to Boden Towers – but at least I gave it a go, right?.

If your grandmother could knit, this is the kind of sweater she would have made and then passed on to you. This is one of my favorite Boden purchases of the last few years. I got the ivory and it is so beautiful, soft, and flattering.
The cardigan looked great online, but it has surpassed my expectations!.
