20 Best Crab Sandwich San Francisco (2023 Updated)

Have to honestly say this was absolutely the BEST King Crab I’ve had. I have been ordering from AKC for some time now-and decided for this order I would go with the pre-cut super colossal King Crab legs.

Why? I wanted to see for myself if they were as good as advertised. I’ve ordered the Super Colossal King Crab legs, Jonah Crab Claws, lobster tails and even the various types of salmon offered on AKC.

They were all really good but with the exception of the salmon required a lot of work to get to the meat. I baked the pre-cut Colossal Crab Legs per AKC instructions and only changed the spices I used – sprinkled only OLD BAY SPICE on to the legs and in to the water, baked/steamed in industrial restaurant 6” deep metal stainless steel tray and fitted lid – used about 1 1/2” of water in bottom of tray and rested the legs on a perforated tray – defrosted legs in fridge over nite – baked 4 lbs.

of pre-cut king crab legs at 450 (not recommended 350) for 15 minutes – they did NOT dry out – the water in bottom of tray kept the meat very moist and tender!!!! See the two attached pics – this is what they looked like when they were served up for dinner this evening.

Best part was getting to the moist succulent meat with almost no effort at all – have to say once again I loved every bite – as did my family! No waisted meat – easy to clean up and am looking forward to the next time.

Now, I will only go with pre-cut Super Colossal Crab legs – AKC has taken all the hard effort out of eating King Crab by offering pre-cut king crab legs – pricey – yes; BUT WORTH EVERY DOLLAR SPENT AND THEN SOME!!!!! Oh My God! they were good!.

Wanted to do something special for my husband. There was a glitch with the first order as apparently the address was wrong, so they sat on the truck in 98 degree weather for an extra day. Did not get a full refund but lesson learned.

They gave me 50% off so I ordered again and this time no glitches. We cooked them up with our shrimp boil and they were delicious. My son in law said it was the best crab he ever had. Sure beat those skinny little legs you get in the store.

My one granddaughter tore into it. She lovers her seafood. I would definitely order again but wait till cooler weather.

I’ve tried them before and loved the experience of eating succulent, juicy Alaskan King Crabs. This Christmas, instead of gifting things that I’m not sure the receivers will fully appreciate, I gifted them the experience of Alaskan King Crab legs.

I sent them packages to my sister and my mother. They both received it well packaged, fresh and still frozen. They cooked them for their Christmas meals and kept raving about them. They love seafood and all different kinds of crab but these Alaskan King Crabs are at a different level! We received a lot of thanks for the unexpected treat we sent them.

Was so looking forward to receiving this little jar filled with crab. Mighty Ape was, like always, Mighty Good at delivering this item the next day. All I can say is that it is an acquired taste and not to my liking.

I am 67 years old and stopped buying canned crab because I was always disappointed in the product and ammonia smell. So glad after all these years I have finally found a good canned crab! Buy it, you won’t be disappointed!!!!.

We ordered 4 packages of them and overnight delivery. When they came on the hottest day of summer I was Impressed to see they had been packed in dry Ice That was still effective. Unfortunately they arrived the day after a power failure , that is now in it seventh day, and I had to throw out the other three packages, because of no refrigeration available.

The four I had I did on my outdoor grill with a little butter on top, as recommended. And served with a salad and some mango chutney , which made a GREAT meal. – Mike killeen.

We sent these to my Mother for her birthday. She loves crabcakes. Her take is that they were bland. I suggested she add s&p and lemon. I will let you know how that goes. At this time she would not order them again.

She loved the salmon.

I bought these hoping they would be like what I know Maryland crab cakes to be like especially if you eat at Phillip’s in Baltimore. However, while these are good, they do not match those you get at Phillip’s which are excellent, thus one star off the best rating.

This has saved me so much trouble and struggle. Diaper rashes are inevitable but this cream in particular helped ease my child every time within a day.

For years I have wanted to make the perfect crab cake but being on the west coast, crab is limited. Dungenes is good but seasonal. I discoverd All Fresh and it has changed my world. Lump crab definitely makes the best especially since I am all about very little fillers if any.

PLUS. All Fresh has the best staff I a have ever worked with. The chat sesssions have been invaluable especially when I make mistakes, and at my age, I have made mistakes!!! I appreciate their knowledge, kindness and patience.

Fantastic jumbo lump crab. We were looking everywhere for a good lump for a crab dip as this was perfect and for a slight discount, even better considering how expensive and hard to find good crab meat is right now.

Never had tried this but the Kale, black olives and beans is not what I wanted in my Mediterranean Clam Soup. Sorry I bought 4 cans. The taste of the Kale and Black Olives made this worse on top of the HUGH amount of SALT.

i would advise trying to buy only one and try for yourself. These flavors were NOT tasty at all. Since I am a BIG FAN OF THE CONDENSED CLAM CHOWDER I highly recommend as well as the Bar Harbor New England Style Crab Bisque semi-condensed I add half can of milk, or condensed milk and butter.

This was a new flavor for me as well. Did not like the Lobster one at all. I have live 5 years in Maine, but the past 50 years in California now, but the Condensed Clam Chowder is my go to lunch or dinner meal mix in real butter and half can of milk and “gently” warm up to melt butter 1-2 TBS and milk, DON’T EVER BOIL as it tuff’ns up the clams.

My pantry has approximately 48 cans of Condensed Clam Chowders. My investment in my meal is so much better than eating out. I have been buying from Vitacost for the past 3 years as the Pandemic has kept this lady of 77 indoors and I SO ENJOY having my food delivered to my door.

I usually look for all the 20% on all items and spend up to several hundreds of dollars.

Read great reviews and bought 2 cans. I was very disappointed and called the number on the can to complain. Nobody was there to answer so I left a message with my phone number and never heard back. I tried the first can only to find a milky broth with only the slightest specks of what I thought were clam bits and a couple specks of corn.

I returned the unopened can to the Market Basket where I bought them without a problem. Bar Harbor chowder is a complete and total rip-off. Never again !.

Look, I know that Walmart isn’t a Wegmans or, a Whole Foods. But this trend of buying canned Clam Chowder and finding out it’s really just crumbly potatoes and bits of jerky, is starting wear on me. As for the look of the soup….

it’s uhh, unpleasant at first, but after boiling or microwaving it it should look better. The taste isn’t too bad, I added crackers to it a d I thought it was fine. Still though It’s mostly potatoes.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. We decided to try these snow crab legs cold to have on a salad and as a sandwich. We let them thaw in the fridge for 24 hours like it suggested.

I really was excited to see that the bag did not leak while thawing. Once we started the tedious process of harvesting the meat we could tell that all of the snow crab legs were of very good quality.

We did use kitchen shears to make the process a bit easier. The thing I was most impressed with was the flavor of the meat and how tender it was. It was very apparent that they seasoned the water they pre cooked these snow crab legs in very well.

This is usually an area of concern when you buy pre cooked and then frozen seafood. I would definitely purchase again when we are looking to have snow crab legs at home.

This was a great price. They’re already cooked so it didn’t take very long for my husband to grill them. They had a good sweet flavor and weren’t very salty. There were a few loose legs, but the clusters were a good size.

While we didn’t weigh the package, it seemed like there was a little more than 2lbs in the bag. My husband and boys really enjoyed the crab legs. However, my husband said it would have been better if the packaging had multiple ways of preparing them hot.

These used to be a favourite of mine I brought them as an alternative to when we couldn’t get to BK for the breakfast croissants as it’s a 30 minute dive each way for a hankering, I was shocked the 6 count has dropped to 4 count.

I didn’t mind so much usually 1?2 was plenty for me as I used to save one for the next day as did my husband. I decided eh I really want a box despite the price increase but the quality drop once I opened them was also so noticable! These used to be so full of flavour and filled me up just eating one unless I was super hungry.

The first bite I was sat going ew what did they do? It has no flavour I was disgusted the meat was paper thin barely any flavour the egg just felt wierd and the cheese I couldn’t even taste a cheesy flavour for a second I feared maybe I had the virus untill I tasted my drink perfectly fine.

Since you have to remove the plastic wraps in order to microwave the croissant dries out faster than the filling can cook leaving it dry in areas and cold in the middle the old bags helped steam cook the filling.

Even my husband who loves croissant, sausage and egg breakfasts went are these out of date or something they are nasty. I used to struggle to get my hands on these at my local store because they were.

always sold out proving how many people loved this item in the last few months I never really see it sold out and always available after my last batch I can see why! I Won’t be buying these anymore unless the quality goes back to how it used to be especially for the price $7 for 4 was An expensive letdown in terms of how these are now.

These are MY FAVORITE breakfast sandwiches!! The croissant 🥐 is buttery, and not chewy. I’d eat the croissant alone, tastes like the croissants you get in a pop out can and make at home!! Yum!! 😋 The ham also is of good quality, it has really good flavor, even though it’s a thin slice.

At first when I saw the ham I was disappointed, but again the taste makes up for the amount. The egg 🍳and cheese 🧀 also has good flavor. The cheese is melty and not rubbery, the egg 🥚 is fluffy too. The sandwich needs NOTHING added to eat it.

Normally I wouldn’t want to eat a sandwich without mayo, and most times add onion and lettuce to my ham egg and cheese sandwiches when I am out at restaurants. However these are perfect the way they are.

I also don’t just eat these for breakfast, I eat in them for dinner sometimes. My kids also love these. The 4 PKG is gone in 1 breakfast so we usually get the 8 PKG. They are a little pricey, if you have a grocery budget or a large family BUT they aren’t crazy expensive and cheaper in the long run than stopping for the same sandwich at a drive thru.

Hands down, I recommend these!!.

I was thinking that Jimmy Dean the king of breakfast, would have a pretty good quality breakfast sandwich in these ham and cheese croissants. I’was sadly mistaken. At the same time as I purchased these ham ones I also purchased some sausage ones from the Walmart Great Value brand, because I didn’t see sausage ones available from Jimmy Dean.

I am surprised and a bit sad to say that the Walmart brand had a far superior croissant to the Jimmy Dean. the Walmart ones have their own issues, namely that the sausage patty is almost criminally small, relative tp the size of the rest of the sandwich, but the croissant was superior to Jimmy Dean.

Also, they did not have an egg in them, which was my fault, I guess, for not paying closer attention, because that is what I wanted, but my main issue with these is that the croissant is a poor quality in my opinion.

I will continue to buy Jimmy Dean sausage, as they have the best that I’ve tried still, but these croissants were disappointing.

The packaging is easy to open, something you don’t always find. After trying a variety of cooking times the product never came out perfectly cooked – always ice cold in the middle. I always resorted to finally removing them from the packaging cutting into pieces and zapping for several extra seconds (yes, my microwave works properly and is the wattage recommended).

In the end the cheese melts out everywhere, the frittata portion is mushy (hey, at least it’s not dry!), and the sausage patty is finally warmed. Marketing this as a sandwich and having the expectation to eat it as one are two very different concepts.

If this were the only problem with this product it would be ok, however, let’s continue. Understanding this product is not promoted/packaged as low carb or keto friendly BUT calories and carbs are promoted on the front of the packaging prompted me to take a look at the nutritional label and ingredients.

GOOD LAWD JD! Y’all tryin’ to kill me with the amount of sodium? No wonder I was retaining water after trying these! A good chef knows you can always add salt but you can’t take it away. But to have it in each component and then added again – we’re such an over salted society.

The added sugar in each component – shame on you – unnecessary. And don’t even think of trying to replace all that added sugar with stevia unless you’re trying to send your customers racing to the facilities.

Jimmy Dean I challenge you to do better because I know you can. This is a fantastic product concept that would do great in the market but had poor execution. I believe you can make this product taste better, cook properly, and support a healthy lifestyle by cutting the sodium/sugar/fat.

I generally stay away from processed foods, even ones toted as healthy because so often they’re really not. Loaded with starches, sodium, bad preservatives or high GI fake sugars. But some mornings it’s really nice to have something quick after a workout.

I wouldn’t eat these every day as the fat is higher than usual for me and there is some starch to bind the eggs, but I do really like them on occasion. Flavors are great, texture is awesome and very quick to make.

I appreciate the protein to carb ratio. Please don’t stop making these. It feels like a cheat meal with less guilt and I really look forward to them as an after workout reward!.

These are great for a quick meal. We throw them in a cooler for quick hotel breakfasts, I take them to work for an easy breakfast or lunch. They are great! Only thing recently i noticed was nearly every sandwich has a piece of tough broccoli stem that i need to spit out.

not sure if this is a QA issue with that batch as it hasn’t happened in the previous year of consumption. As far as texture, we find if you heat and let cool in the package for 3-5 min, it helps with the grainy texture.

Let me tell you, you will not miss eating dead fish. These taste like the crab flesh that you are used to. My husband is not vegan but I am trying with him. I made these I didn’t say what they were, he ate them all didn’t even save me any.

He came back in the kitchen and said you only made 4 crab cakes. where the rest! Basically he didn’t realize they were not dead fish until I told him and he started going to the store and buying these himself.

I am not saying these are the healthiest as it is processed!.

My wife is vegan and I’m an omnivore pretty much, but I try lots of stuff she makes. Some great some terrible. These are fantastic and can be used in many easy recipes as well. Gardein is one of the best meat alternative companies I’ve come across, maybe the best.

Don’t prejudge and don’t be afraid to make an actual meal with them though good on their own. Sadly I have to catch their products on sale to afford them, thus the low value grade. Assumed it meant price.

I absolutely love these crabless cakes! They taste very similar to the real stuff but more flavourful and delicious. I love making the Tik Tok Sushi bowls with them or just have them as a quick appy! I just throw mine in the air fryer and they come out perfectly crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside every single time.

I have been trying to find a wet food for my finicky feline. She was eating Wellness then started leaving half of it in the bowl. Then I tried American Journey pâté thinking she’d like that. After a week it was back to dumping 3/4 of her meal in the garbage.

I had bought the Tiki Cat wet treats and they must contain kitty crack as she greedily slurps them up. I thought maybe she would do the same with Tiki’s canned food. So I went to the pet store to pick up a few cans of Tiki Cat for kitty to try.

First up was the chicken in consommé. It contains pieces of shredded chicken in light broth. Almost looks like human food, but I am not going to test it to confirm! No brown mush here! I placed out the bowl of food and held my breath in anticipation — will she eat it? Not only did she eat it, she ate up all the food in the bowl! For the first time in months she cleaned the bowl in less than 5 minutes! I was so grateful that I wasn’t throwing out food.

Plus, the ingredients are good with no by products or fillers so I feel good feeding it to my fur baby. THANK YOU TIKI CAT!!.

Okay, Tiki Cat is so much fun! “I” (it’s not for me, I know) was hooked the moment I saw that fantastic colorful, fun label! THEN, I started to read. I couldn’t decide what to get Nala! I looked for digestion found Tummy Topper, a pumpkin puree you put on top of their food.

I grabbed that a can of the Ahi Tuna w/ Tiger Prawns. That night we opened the can there were whole “little” shrimps sitting right on top! The cutest little things! She loved it! Their stuff is so fun! Lots of protein high in moisture! LOADED with goodies.

They have different ‘lines’ so to speak. ‘After Dark’ It has nutrients-dense organ meats-Some include:Rabbit Chicken Liver Pate’, Chicken Quail Egg in Broth, Venison Beef Liver Pate’. Then the ‘Grill’ is high protein real fish:Sardines Lobster in Broth, Ahi Tina Crab in Broth.

Other ‘Lines’ include: ‘Aloha Friends’. ‘Luau’, ‘Broths’, ‘Born Carnivore’, ‘Compliments’ more!.

We are trying to help a stray cat which has been hanging around our neighborhood. We have tried different food and her being a stray, she would eat anything. But just because she is working towards becoming a house cat, she shouldn’t have to eat yucky food.

Imagine my surprise when I opened the first cans of this and its shredded chicken and actually one of the recipe’s contains hard boiled quail egg halves. Needless to say, Keema loves the food. Given the choice between this brand and any other brand, she goes with the Tiki Cat every time.

I have not seen the “grey chicken” which some have mentioned. Every can has been something one might be served in a fancy restaurant as an appetizer. I am on the 3rd case of this and every can has been perfect.

It doesn’t smell like the paste cat food. It smells like “real food” which is also how it appears. There are less expensive foods around, but this brand certainly appears to be quality from what I have seen.

We have now purchased this stray cat a heated cat house and premium food. Her visits are becoming more and more regular. She is probably thinking “Why go anywhere else and these people sure have good taste”.

Life as a stray has to be tough and scary. Hopefully, we can gain her trust and give her a better life where she is safe and hopefully happy. The food sure seems to have gotten her attention.

A bit disappointed – owl is small, 7 or 8 inches (which I knew from reading the other reviews). The disappointment came from what the owl looks like. It’s ok, but definitely not as cute as the one shown.

The detail on the chest of the owl is different and looks cheap, and the face is also not as cute. On the bright side, it’s very soft and I think my kid would like it (he mostly cares about textures anyway).

I’m still trying to decide if to keep it or return it.

Shreya is a beautiful dragon! Her photo truly doesn’t due her justice. She’s so soft and cuddly as well! Her pink and silver markings are just striking! She’s very dearly loved in her new home! Her long eyelashes are the icing on the cake! Douglas makes very durable and high quality products, so Shreya can stand up to a lifetime of hugs and play.

I think most people are always looking for “faster”, “better”, “easier”, and “healthier”. Here is a new product that meets these qualifications. The Jimmy Dean Delights Egg’wich breakfast sandwiches go from freezer to plate in 1 minute 50 seconds or less (faster) and are a delicious-in a gourmet way (better) alternative to removing from your refrigerator the eggs, cheese, sausage, and vegetables to prepare yourself a proper breakfast (easier).

These are a breadless frittata sandwich made with bacon, spinach, caramelized onion and Parmesan egg frittata with turkey sausage and cheese and have only 260 cal and a healthy 14 g of protein (healthier) in each sandwich.

For those people who are carb conscious and looking for ways to remove breads from their diet, the total carbs come in at only 8 g and are Atkins and Keto friendly. These could not be easier to make (peel open one corner and throw in the microwave for less than 2 minutes) and are perfect for busy active people on the go.

Once they are heated, they are easy to hold with no mess and can be eaten on the go. Another nice thing about these sandwiches is that there are no artificial flavors or colors and are fully cooked, so they are just heat and eat.

My wife and I both loved the 2 types that we tried (spinach and broccoli) and these will easily become a staple on our shopping list each week. I did prefer the broccoli type slightly over the spinach flavor (probably because I like broccoli more than spinach) but I do think that they should come out with a flavor with cheddar or American cheese as an option.

As far as pricing, in my local stores I have found that the 4 count box was $5. 97 (about $1. 50 per sandwich) which I think a better price for the consumer would be $1 per sandwich because they are frozen and you are preparing them your self, they should be at a lower price point than a made fresh breakfast sandwich through a drive-through.

In addition, because there is no bread in this sandwich, these are slightly smaller than a drive-through sandwich. All in all, I think that Jimmy Dean has a real hit on a clever twist to the breakfast sandwich that is healthy and delicious and is quick and super easy to prepare.

My hope is that they tweak the price and maybe add an option with cheddar or American cheese.

Who is it that comes up with the standardized heating instructions? Genuinely, I don’t understand how it could be so wrong. I’ve always had this problem with this sandwich for so many years. Defrost 90 secs, okay cool.

Flip and heat 50 secs, alright cool. Wait, it’s still frozen? Okay, let’s try another minute. Still frozen? Alright dude, I guess I’ll take it out of the paper towel, and let each half face up. Another minute.

Okay, room temperature is better than frozen I guess. One more minute; finally, it’s hot! Wow okay, let’s eat. Oh, now the bread is kinda hard because of having to microwave it so much? Like I don’t get it man.

If it’s not viable to heat it frozen to begin with, then don’t recommend doing so. I don’t have a problem with literally anything else I put in the microwave following instructions. Once you get it to a good temperature, then yeah it’s fine tasting, which is really all you should expect from frozen breakfast sandwiches.

These are good but you have to prepare it correctly, which is not the way the instructions say to on the package. It’s a little inconvenient but it makes a better sandwich. Start by separating the egg, sausage, and cheese from the biscuit.

microwave the biscuit halves for 40 seconds. then take them out and microwave the egg and sausage patty for 2. 5 minutes. The sausage may cook faster so when that’s hot, take it out and place it on the biscuit and continue cooking the egg for another 30 seconds or so until it’s hot.

When the egg is done, place it on the sausage and then the cheese on top of that. Put everything in the microwave and microwave until cheese is melted. It seems complicated but once you do it a few times it takes no longer than 3 minutes to make the sandwich.

I love crab cakes in restaurants, and I wanted to find one for home that was real crab and tasted good. I bought this one, just based on reading ingredients, it has real crab at number 1, and not a lot of other ingredients, some I read had a whole paragraph of them, most sounding lab made.

We like to cook in a pan with oil from thawed, and use lemon butter as a sauce! A little pricey for 2 cakes, but as always, you do get what you pay for. (A lot of the time, not always for sure).

We enjoyed the crab cakes very much! The size is average. I bought them on sale for $8 @ Target (usually $9). With the first ingredient being crab I decided to try them. We baked them in the oven. They crisped up nicely and held together well! I will definitely purchase them again.

I’m a born and raised MD baby who (unfortunately) resides in Houston now and when I came across these in Target I could have cried. They aren’t an actual Phillips crab cake and they’re not what you would actually find back home BUT, they are amazingly comparable.

I’ve notice “crab cakes” here are disgusting so, these are as close as I can get to the home of crab cakes, MD.

I read some reviews before posting mine. I wanted you to know, if you are expecting real crab meat, you will be disappointed. BUT, if you know what imitation crab meat is, it’s one of the best. I’m pretty picky, even for imitation crab meat.

It’s a great value because at my current store in the ATL area you can get this for $5. 99. If you go to a regular store here, you would pay $3. 99 on up for 16 oz. It’s great to use in Salads and I make a crab salad that’s great on a salad OR a sub.

I’ve even made Crab Alfredo! Definitely a repeat purchase for me!.

I don’t understand why there are so many great reviews. I currently get my imitation crab from my local asian market and they taste very much like crab. I thought to give these a try the last time I was at Sam’s because of price.

I was disappointed. They are very bland tasting at best. They might be okay in a salad where they taste like the salad dressing or maybe to add a meaty texture to soups and sauces. I will not be purchasing these again.

I use to buy this 2 packs at a time at least twice a mth. But the last five times I’ve purchased this, it has been bad. Ive also waited a mth or so before buying again thinking it was a bad shipment but no it’s gross now.

It’s slimy and has a terrible smell. Ive thrown it out each time. So i will never buy again.

I was very disappointed to receive tough rubbery and water-logged crab legs. I thought that the crab legs would be quality that is why I paid that kind of money, but when I tasted a piece, and I will not do it again.

I will go to my local fish market for a few Alaskan King crab pieces. And I believe they would taste sweet and flakey.

Was expecting the best but Tasted oxidized and meat was soft. I did not thaw. Went from freezer to steamer. I promise I did not overcook. since it wasn’t exceptional the rest will be used for seafood gumbo.

I order king crab3-4 times per year via internet sources. Would not get yours again.

We ordered 2 lbs of Alaskan King Crab legs and were happy with the number of legs and that they were pre-split. But after steaming them we found that the meat had freezer burn on the ends of all of the legs.

You could tell as that part of the crab meat was discolored. How old were the crab legs? We will not be ordering these again.
