Great hat. Great price. Exactly what I was looking for. Sizing seems a little off. I wear a 7 1/4 which translated to a Medium and it is a just a bit large. Easily remedied so no big deal.

Nice hat! I like the way that the sides are already molded in up position. Nice drawstring to keep on head or around neck in windy weather. Great sun protection while on the water.

I love this Stetson hat, it looks great and is very comfortable on my head. The quality is good and I’m sure it’ll last a long time. I’ve already bought this hat online, but at home in Germany they charge about $ 110 for it – double what I paid here at fashionablehats.

Sizes seem to vary a little bit, both – otherwise similar – hats (size small) had different diameters, the first was a bit to big while the second fits perfectly. The packaging was very good, the hat arrived here in Germany only few days after ordering without any damage in perfect condition.

I have not had much of a chance to wear this hat as I have been packing up to move. I do like the look and style, time will tell how well it will hold up, as I wear it under daily hot weather and I sweat quite a bit.

To be fair I gave it 4 stars because I don’t know how durable it will be in the long run. If it survives the summer and still is a good hat, then it deserves 5 stars.

I ordered a large and it wasn’t quite big enough. The return process was easy enough and I got the next size up. It fits great. The quality is a little questionable. Some strings that hold the hat together weren’t trimmed.

It has held up well ttus far though.

My husband wears hats very often for sun protection, so I asked him to try out this Raffia Straw Fedora Sun Hat. He thought that the hat looked very handsome and well shaped. The hat also felt well constructed, and made from good quality materials.

In terms of color, the “natural” had more of a straw yellow tone versus the one shown in the Amazon listing. Once he put it on, he found that the size large (marked L/XL inside the hat) fit him as expected.

The only issue he noticed was that the hat’s crown portion seemed tall and was riding high on his head. Upon closer examination, he figured out that the hat’s crease, the sunk down portion on top, was fairly deep, so it touched the top of his head and made the hat stand up higher.

He tried to reshape the crease a bit, but it didn’t seem to make much difference. All the same, my husband wore this hat out on a few walks and liked how lightweight and cool the hat felt. He said that except for the one issue he noted, he really like this hat.

Raffia Straw Silver Canyon, Cowboy Western Hat in Natural is OK for sun protection. We got this hat to wear when the sun beats down although these days we do wonder where the sun has gone. Come Spring, it will be back and we will need protection from the sun rays.

This hat, the Chandler model, is of raffia straw and is fedora inspired styling by Silver Canyon. I found I ordered it a bit too large but that’s better than too small. The hat has a 3-inch brim to deter the sun.

Silver Canyon says the hat is “hand-woven [in a] tight weave and [it has a] 4 1/4 inch pacific pinch front crown. and air holes in the crown to help keep you cool and comfortable. ” It is designed to wear all-year around but for me, I try to avoid the sun.

I use an umbrella in the rain, not a hat. The hat arrived a little mashed from the way it was packed. I have tried to bring it back to shape by putting some towels inside the crown. I think I am going to have to try a little harder maybe by dampening it and then trying the towels again.

I will have my fingers crossed. I like the hat and the way it is supposed to look.

The fit seems a little bigger than other hats (L) but that’s easy to adjust. I have to agree with other reviewers that the crown is too low. By the time I get the hat on snug, the top of the hat is resting on my scalp and I’m still pushing down on the top edges of the crown.

If you take 1/8″ out of the circumference and add 1/4″ height, the hat should be spot on for lots more guys. Otherwise it’s a little asymmetrical in the front but nobody comments on that.

After scouring hundreds of websites, we finally settled on this hat for our son, who wanted a rancher-style cowboy hat. this was the perfect color, shape, and weave. I ordered it for him with regular shipping on a Sunday, and we received it in Southern California on Friday.

It was beautifully protected and packaged, so there was no way to crush the hat inside, unless a piano fell on it. We were both surprised by the firmness of the hat: It has some sort of coating on it which allows almost no movement or flex to the hat at all.

We decided that it wasn’t a bad thing, it simply maintains the shape of the hat. I only mention it since it’s not evident in the pictures; I thought it would be flexible. Still. a 5-Star product!.

Hat was shipped from Tacoma Washington to Orlando Florida and made about 10 stops. Hat was only shipped in a plastic bag and was bent and crushed in multiple places and the white hat was black in places where the black bag had been rubbed or dragged and the plastic was melted onto the hat.

Seems crazy when I have a store 10 miles from me! Very disappointing after such a long wait for its arrival. Useless unless I just give it to my grandson to play with.

Quality is good and I liked the design. My major problem is that the crease in the front is extremely narrow. I tried to flatten it out the best I could and reshape it with a cattleman’s crease but the straw and wire were factory set and you can’t ever get it right.

Just know that the form of the hat has a very narrow opening.

Good quality hat. I followed instructions and sized up rather than down, and because straw hats are rigid it did shake on my head and would easily have blown off, but a follow-up order of sizing tape fixed it even better than I expected.

So, if you size up, just go ahead and get the tape, too. My only mild complaint — and it’s probably just my carpenter’s eye — is that the indents on the top are a little uneven, so the point is a little off center.

But I’ve never bought a hat like this before, so maybe that’s normal. It certainly isn’t very noticeable.

I own three of this particular hat in various colors. What I like best is the mesh rim. American Hat Makers also offers hats that have a cloth liner on the underside of the rim that provides more complete shade.

However, the cloth absorbs sweat and is difficult to wash thoroughly. The mesh hat lacks the cloth liner, so it absorbs sweat to only a minor degree and it is easy to wash.

I LOVE my new El Dorado. It’s my first hat from American Hat Makers and it will not be my last. I plan on using it for special occasions as well as casual and costuming. Well worth the investment. Looking forward to my next addition!.

This hat is so lightweight, you might forget you’re wearing it! Looks great with any outfit! So breathable. Your head will stay nice and cool!

Very nice hat for the price!! Shapeable , light weight, and quite stylish in a toned down way. I use it for golf because my ears and neck need shade. Ball caps and visors are not an option for me. This is a nice change from the typical fedora style golf hats more commonly used/sold for golf.

The headband and chin strap are well secured. The chin strap on a lightweight hat like this is essential for wearing it while riding in golf carts. The small subtle metal medallion adds a great finishing touch to the country/western theme.

It isn’t better than I expected though it is as good as I expected. The little buttons in the middle of the crown where it meets the brim is just glued in place. Other than that, I am happy with the product and would buy it again.

I was hoping it would be little more solid. In reality its like well…………..paper. How it holds its shape, i dont know but it doesnt do it well for sure.

Sad to say, maybe Shepler’s should get out of the hat business. This is the second hat to arrive damaged in a undamaged box. The ad specifies “Dri-lex” head band, the reason I bought it, it’s not. If you need to know the hat profile you will have to do your research on a competitor’s site.

You will not find it listed here. I do not like leaving bad reviews. Something needs changed.

Usual Stetson quality. Perfect sizing, very comfortable. This is my first straw hat with a DriLex sweat band. I love it – can’t imagine going back to leather now in straw hats! The hat band is super nice.

My only complaint is that Sheplers don’t ship them with a Stetson hat box. I store my hats in them, and had to buy one elsewhere; but the hat is fantastic.

Great quality but size was too large. Anyone who buys a cowboy hat online knows fit differs from hat-to-hat even if they are all same size. I have a few Stetsons and this was no different. They did provide two hat adjustment inserts but even with these it’s barely acceptable.

Still, it’s a quality product. Deciding if I should exchange, no guarantees the new one would fit any better or worse.

Bought this hat for my husband and it’s perfect! He likes the flexible feel and it fits his head which is great because it’s hard to find one that is comfortable. We both love the look of this one. We just got back from New MX and thought he’d find a hat there but we were suprised at the limited selection at all the places we visited.

This straw hat looks nice, but does not hold its shape well. It could be a lot stiffer. I do not think it will hold up long under regular use.

Comes with the brim rolled up in some hillbilly style. Shapeable???. not even close, had to basically wad it up and start over to get it even close to the way I wanted it shaped and I have shaped many straw hats.

Dri lex sweat band. I think not. It is somewhat comfortable, and cool, would be better if it had a better inside band. It’s the start of a good hat.

I recently bought my first cowboy hat on a vacation to Arizona. We were in Williams after visiting the Grand Canyon. I went into a shop and was trying on hats and the second one I tried on fit great and looked good.

It was a Bailey Tombstone 2X and I purchased the hat. When I got home to Coastal Alabama I realized that I would not be able to wear this hat for a good part of the year because it would be too hot. So I knew I needed a straw hat to wear in the hot months.

Because the Tombstone 2x fit so well I went to Bailey’s website and found the Costa and purchased it too. It fits great, looks great and vents air beautifully. My neighbors are going to see me in Cowboy hats a lot.

The hat was carefully packaged with no issues. Quality appears to be good and the fit and look is exactly as described. Only issue is I wish the height was a bit deeper on the crown. Top of my head is hitting the top of the crown and the brim is far above my ears.

Excellent hat. Shape, even beyond subjective, is good and well formed. Very good color and fit. Only minus is that for a “3X” the hat is too stiff.

Good quality feel, fit, color and all. Only reason I’m leaving 4 stars and not 5 is because the hat was horribly shaped. I had to take it to a shop to have it fixed. Now I absolutely love it. The return label in the box says each item is carefully inspected but this one was obviously not.

The package arrived in perfect condition and was packed well so someone obviously didn’t care to fix it before sending it.

I was looking for a straw hat to wear in the summer to keep the sun off but I didn’t want to wear one of my more expensive hats. This fit my needs perfectly. The hat does a great job keeping the sun off my head and the back of my neck and the ventilated crown really helps with air flow keep my head just a little bit cooler.

The hat seems to be sized just a tad bigger than some of my other hats but still fits just fine. It cleans up really well with a damp cloth. I’ve splattered it with mud, muck, and. everytime it wipes off clean.

I ordered this hat for my 10 yr old grandson and he loves it! We looked far and wide and tried on many hats! This one won out over his last 3 top choices! The price was ok, the color is nice, the band interesting and the cut/fit was just right for my young cowboy!.

This hat looks very stylish. I ordered it online in my size. The hat may indeed be a white straw hat. What it feels like, though, is plastic. The hat has a stiff white coating sprayed over (straw?) the hat material.

The end result is a stiff hat that doesn’t have much “give” to fit your head, and feels like you are wearing plastic. No, it doesn’t fit right. Thank goodness it has vents, MAYBE it would be ok to wear in the summer without feeling like your head is wrapped in plastic.

I’m back to wearing my hat made of seagrass as it is light and vents well on a hot spring day in the sun. Wish I hadn’t ordered this one.

Very very nice and cute but it was a centimeter smaller than the other hat by the same company. That means it will sit a little too high to look perfect. I’m sad about that. I’m going to keep it though because it’s very cute.

I just wish it wasn’t so small. It’s 57 cms if you were wondering. I don’t like anything tight on my head because it hurts and messes up my hair and doesn’t look right.

The hat is super cute and very well made. Fits my large head very well. The beads are beautiful and really make the hat pop. The pink color really is beautiful as well.

Do NOT put two hats into one box. Risky business hoping there will not be a “ding” in the hat. One hat had a slight indention, but we are choosing to overlook it. Just do yourself a favor and discuss with your shipping/packing protocol please.

This is my third Rodeo King jute hat to buy from NRS. The jute is woven to let plenty of air flow in the crown, while providing light-filtering shade. Very light and comfortable. Perfect for hot days in Texas.

I really like the hat it’s light weight and cool for summer I would have given it 5 stars except that I just don’t think it’s going to hold up well. To be fair I am tuff on things and it gets worn everyday all day on the ranch and working my construction job.
