20 Best Cover Up For Bruises (2023 Updated)

Huge skin care addict here who is insanely picky on what products I put on my face. Firstly, there is a nice shade range of colors which is great. Secondly, this concealer is 100% full coverage. I find that blending in with the fingers really melts it into the skin and helps with less creasing (I have light wrinkles).

I also will use a beauty sponge if I want to shear it out for medium coverage. Thirdly, this product isn’t necessarily “hydrating” to me, I find that it does set down fairly quickly so I’d definitely apply and blend one eye at a time for smooth application.

Being as though I have to do that solely alone tells me that it’s not entirely “hydrating” for MY dry SKIN (may be hydrating to someone else). I do feel as though this product reminds me of the kosas hydrating concealer in terms of concept and coverage but this just dries down faster and isn’t nearly as moisturizing.

Finally, the price point and overall performance is why I’m giving it 5 stars. It’s only $6-7 and from the full coverage, the soft satin finish, shade range, and control of the applicator makes it worth it.

I picked this up because I have been in between concealers and my current has been out of stock. This one came recommended as a really good option at the drugstore price point. I don’t think I’ve ever panicked when trying to blend concealer, until today.

I used a small amount on the inner corners of my eyes to start, the color was pretty atrocious, just gross. It highlighted my dark circles and they ended up greenish and still dark. It also was patchy and cakey.

It would not diffuse at all. It was so awful I immediately washed it off. I thought maybe I’d just try it again with a fresher face, so I cleaned off all my makeup added a little extra eye cream to maybe help the product move more.

however it was exactly as horrible as before. I have pretty sensitive combination skin. I would say under my eyes are maybe on the oily side, this product dried them out. I can’t give something one star because I know ultimately it’s just not for me, and it may not be a bad product for others.

I will be returning though.

Formula: This concealer has a matte, smoothing texture with medium to full coverage even when applying a very small amount. It’s lightweight and easy to blend in so that my skin still looks like skin.

It didn’t crease under my eyes, but I prefer a more hydrating formula in that area, and I primarily use this one for concealing hyperpigmentation instead. It’s not as thin as the Clove & Hallow concealer and not as creamy as the Kosas revealer concealer, but it’s a nice in-between.

Excellent lasting power, though I find myself having to mist my skin to prevent it from drying out in the harsh winter. I have very dry, acne-prone skin, so I also exfoliate and moisturize to prevent any clinging to dry patches.

It is unscented (big for me!) and has not irritated my skin or broken me out. I can layer my other makeup (e. g. , cream blush) on top without this concealer moving around excessively, which is nice.

Shade: Finally, a true medium-olive concealer! Benefit Boi-ing in 6. 4 Happy Feels is one of the few concealers I can actually spot-conceal with on bare skin without the color and texture being way off from my actual skin tone and texture.

Influenster didn’t let me choose this shade from the drop-down when I submitted my review, so I just want to clarify that I’m talking about shade 6. 4, Happy Feels. When the Benefit Boi-ing concealer originally came out, it only had a handful of shades and none of them matched my skin, so I’m very happy with this shade extension.

For reference, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk in 6. 0 is my perfect match. I also use Kosas revealer concealer in 6. 0, which is a just tad too peachy/orange for my skin but perfect for correcting under my eyes.

I’ve provided pictures comparing these shades in various lighting conditions, as well as a picture showing how well it covers my reddish-brown post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Overall: great concealer with high coverage and olive-friendly shades.

Works with dry skin when prepped, and does not break me out. Will purchase another when this runs out because of the excellent shade match and lasting-power.

Erases dark circles like magic. It’s greatest flaw being that this product applies more like a powder, which can make it very drying. Compared to similar products, I am highly impressed by its long lasting nature.

My shade is fairest cool. 5 I have combination skin with varying degrees of under eye circles due to my anemia. The concealer applied like a liquid but quickly turned powdery. Layered with foundation and highlighter the integrity of the product overall remained solid.

One of the most impressive qualities is its duration. The coverage is it’s most impressive feature. I have tried various products that are supposedly high coverage but they clogged up my pores and gave me acne.

This applies like a light coverage concealer with a full coverage appearance. The product did feel drying without a moisturizer but there’s a great difference if you take the time to moisturize your skin before you apply the concealer.

I would most definitely reccomend this concealer. It is the most gratifying concealer out there on the market. Truly astounding how well it hides dark circles with a light dab of the product. I applied two small dabs near the inner corner and outer corner of my eye and that was more than enough.

I imagine you could get away with doing one dab underneath the middle of your eye and be able to get enough coverage. That’s another amazing benefit, this product will last you longer than the average concealer because it’s so good at its job.

Disclaimer: I received this product free from influenster and Benefit in exchange for my honest review. Wow, I have been really impressed with this product. Having low iron comes with dark circles around my eyes so I need a good concealer.

As an avid Tarte Shape Tape Concealer user, I expected to be disappointed with this concealer. However, after using it a few times I was surprised to find that by the end of the day I couldn’t remember which concealer I had applied that morning.

In an attempt to compare the two, I applied the Benefit concealer to one side of my face and Tarte on the other. After I finished blending them out with my beauty blender, they looked identical. I realize that this product is only a few dollars cheaper (like $6??) than the Tarte Shape Tape but I think this Benefit concealer might actually last longer than that product too because it has a thinner consistency and blends better (with same coverage!) so I don’t have to use as much of it.

I will be purchasing this product again in the exact same shade whenever I run out. I also have to comment on the packaging because I thought it was so clever and adorable to do an eraser design. It’s a subtle touch that you could easily overlook which I appreciate.

I am not a huge fan of super whimsical packaging because it usually looks cheap and almost like the “pretend” makeup I played with as a child. The eraser touch did not take it too far in my opinion.

Not a fan. Doesn’t correct my dark circles. I’ve used a few shades of this but never really happy with it. I keep trying it because overall I like the brand. One positive thing is that it does not settle in my fine lines.

But with the color just not being right and the amount of correction being underwhelming, it’s a pass for me.

My absolute favorite medium coverage foundation. Made my face look more natural like I had no make up on but still covered small blemishes. My favorite make up brand ever.

I like the Merle Norman cover up! It has very good coverage! The packaging is very good! I would recommend more coverage! This product is great for under eye coverage! I would possibly buy this product again.

I first learned about this product from my friend who uses it to cover her tattoos and acne, she recommended it to me for my extremely dark circles and oh my god it’s by far the best foundation/concealer I have ever used.

I thought it would look super cakey and horrible since the coverage is extremely full but I was shocked! It makes my skin look so beautiful and airbrushed! My dark circles completely gone. Acne completely covered with a smooth finish! You don’t need a lot of product either! Can’t believe how amazing this product is for the price.

This makeup will literally cover your sins. If you like full coverage, this is the one. I don’t know why this foundation isn’t talked about like it should be. It makes my skin look flawless and smooth.

I have good skin but I have redness and some scars from picking and this stuff covers them up incredibly. You need a pea sized amount for each cheek. It dries down to be matte without flaky or cakiness.

It’s not expensive at all either. I will wear this foundation forever.

My experience, as it was, really isn’t the best. I bought it through Instagram online and they brought me the wrong shade. By the way, the foundation every time I put it on, my face itches horribly. The girl told me that it was anti-allergic and I didn’t nothing will happen and my face itches horribly every time I put it on.

What I do when I have no other choice and I have to use that one is I mix it with very white base with white body paint to make my skin disappear. In the makeup that is seen in the photo, which is Halloween makeup, I used this product, but after a while my face burned horribly.

I use this every day to cover the reddish color under my eyes and on my lids, as well as other places on my face. I just dab it on directly from the tube and then pat it into place. It is amazing how the redness just disappears! I follow that with a BeneFit concealer and a few pats of transparent HD powder, using a concealer brush for all.

The powder helps keep the concealers from settling in the creases. Sometimes I will just use the green if I want a lighter feel, and again pat the powder over it. I am a regular user–This purchase was the 3rd time I bought it and it will not be the last!.

I came across this by accident but now I can’t buy anything else. I use this mostly as a concealer, but often an all around foundation as well. I don’t use a lot but the coverage is great! I have pretty oily akin that is prone to breakouts but this concealer does not feel heavy or cakey and I can manage my.

skin much better. It blends well and works excellent when I have to use it to touch up my makeup throughout the day. I also love it as an under eye corrector. What’s most awesome is that it’s not expensive! Love this product, I just wish it came in a bigger size.

I’ve used a few different green concealers and this one is my favorite. The others I have tried are more of a mint green and they made my skin appear paler. This olive green is much more ideal for my tan skin.

And it covers my blemishes and rosacea-like splotches very well. It also blends into my skin well. There is sometimes a very slight green tint when I’m under fluorescent lighting, but I don’t think it’s very noticeable at all.

I apply it with my fingers and cover it with Maybelline’s liquid FITme foundation.

I love this product, it’s the one that I’ve been using the most and smells so good. I would love if it could be more coverage. The cons are most than the cons. I totally recommend this product

great coverage, long lasting and doesn’t cake up. Also when fixing powder has been applied, if later the evening you feel the coverage has worn a little it is easy just to put a small amount on your finger tip and blend it straight back on top of your existing makeup and it just blends in, some new fixing powder on top and you are fixed!.

I have used this concealer off and on for the last 25 years plus to spot conceal, it is creamy and emollient but not oily. It can be used for any skin type but application is the key. If you apply too much or do not blend enough it can look dry and accentuate imperfections on the skin.

This seems to be typical for any stick concealer that I have used. If your skin tends to lean dry then you need to moisturize well or it can appear patchy. More recently I have noticed a scent to this product, it does not linger on the skin, or irritate my sensitive skin.

It smells like it is fragrance-free, there is no masking odor. I use this more for no make-up/make-up days. The biggest con with this product is the lack of shade options but it can be mixed in with other products to lighten their effect.

Overall, I recommend this product if you have sensitive skin.

i love this yellow stick. i use it before my regular concealer to cover my dark circles. it’s not too thick for my older under eye skin. it goes on smooth and blends really well. makes my eyes look brighter too.

i always use this before my regular concealer. Although I’ve found the green stick works the best when trying to cover up dark circles but you can find a better product at a higher price point. I originally purchased these because my typical concealer sticks were out of stock and I needed them.

It was a package of 3, so it was a better deal than buying them all separately but I’m not certain I would purchase again, unless my typical concealer is out of stock again.

I’ve found the Holy Grail!!! I have HORRIBLE dark circles under my eyes. I’ve tried every concealer known to man. After a google search led me to look for a yellow concealer, I found this. I put under my eyes after primer and moisturizer.

I dab on a small sponge and blend under my eye. I put my makeup on OVER the corrector and BAM, dark circles are gone!!! It lasts all day and is not cakey and does not settle into my fine lines. I LOVE THIS STUFF!.

This is as amazing as everyone in the beauty community says it is. It’s full coverage beyond belief, so a little goes a long way. I believe that it was originally designed for film or stage makeup so it’s a bit much to use on it’s own.

When used on it’s own consistently, I often break out. I love mixing it with a more sheer foundation like the or the. It’s great for photos, filming, stage makeup and special events. Because this product has so much pigment, it also works well as a concealer or cover up.

I would recommend this product, but I would caution against fake products. Always purchase from an authorized retailer. Do your research and make sure your product is genuine! Five out of five stars.

I love a great foundation that sets well and is compatible to my skin color so it look more natural, I also am always looking for a foundation that goes on smoothly such as this one which is fantastic because it is the building base for everything else that I apply to my face as well.

I love this foundation because it blends smoothly and also it stays put for hours on end. Foundation is one of my go to makeup.

I absolutely love dermacol. I would never purchase it from amazon or any online retailer who is not approved directly from the authorized list for obvious reasons- but I’ve never had an issue with authorized versions (specially the one founded in Seattle).

It covers my beauty marks and for that I am forever grateful- as no other product has been able to. Although it does feel heavy, I don’t mind it. If you’re someone who needs full coverage- this product is for you.

It can be a bit pricy but you seriously don’t need that much of this product. I love mixing it with a darker foundation and a bit of jojoaba oil. I find that it mixes well and becomes less thick- yet still stays a full coverage consistency.

This product conceals blemishes extremely well; it is very, very full coverage. I do find that it works best if you give it a little bit of time to set before you go in with foundation. It does have a strange scent, maybe a bit like a sulfur or paint smell.

This product lasts all day, and I do sometimes see an improvement in my blemishes (I struggle with cystic acne) at the end of the day. I wish that the brand would release more inclusive shades, not just in this concealer, but in all of their products.

That would make me more likely to buy from Physicians Formula again. It’s also why I have taken off two stars. Not an inclusive brand. PF, if you are listening, please do better.

This product is AMAZING! Covers almost any blemishes you may have. Whether it’s rosacea, acne scars, surgical scars, blemishes, acne, red cheeks, dark circles under your eyes, or just something you don’t particularly like and want to hide, this product will cover it up without a hitch.

I mostly use it for acne scars and blemishes but I have a natural reddish tint on my cheeks and forehead so I always wear it under foundation in those areas and it is covered all day with a flawless finish from which I receive.

Gives heavy duty coverage that’s perfect for taking the redness and discoloration out of blemishes. Definitely long-wearing on the skin. If you have normal-to-dry skin, you’ll definitely need to be very well moisturizer for a natural looking outcome as this concealer has a very pigmented, matte finish.

Dries down very matte and stays put. Not something I would ever use under the eyes for dark circles there due to the matte-ness and drier finish of the product. Perfect for red marks, redness around the nose, and blemish or post-blemish pigmentation.

A great deal for the price and something I’ve kept in my makeup arsenal for years. Performs just as well as many higher priced options.

Got it thinking it will help with my skin but when applied it feels and looks awful.

I’ve been using this for awhile because I have sensitive skin and am prone to breakouts. It’s really get for coverage and I don’t break out from it like other concealers, it also helps dry out my blemishes through out the day.

The tip Id add for this is to make sure you are fully moisturized or primed first for a smooth application otherwise it can crease or get flaky dry looking after you put it on. It’s more of a medium coverage than full because I typically need to do a couple layers of applying to really cover redness or dark spots.

I wish it came in more shades for different skin tones! I usually put it on in a lighter shade and then apply my foundation or powder to actually match my skin tone color. Stays on all day though which is nice.

I have combination skin which can be tough to balance. Trying to add enough of this without too much of that, so that I don’t end up extra oily or dry with break-outs can be a challenge with both skin care & make-up.

I was hoping to find a product that would provide coverage while actually helping treat & prevent break-outs. I use a lot from IT, so this was a natural next step. Great news! This actually does help reduce the size of blemishes without drying them out to an irritated, flaky mess like many treatments do.

Because my spot trial went so well, I tried this all over my face to see how it would work for prevention as well. I LOVE it! I’d use it this way all of the time, but the size offered is just too small with the current price tag to allow for that.

Shades – I have more olive-like undertones to my skin. The medium shade works with that, but it’s a bit too dark when I’m not self-tanning. The Light-Medium shade IT offers in some of their other cosmetics works great, but since it’s not offered in this formulation, I’m left with the Light option which tends to wash me out.

I’m going to order the Light shade anyway to mix with my Medium & see if I can create the right blend for my complexion. *Fingers crossed. * Because I know how frustrating it is, if you can relate to my combo-skin conundrum, here’s what I do that seems to help (but I’m always open to other suggestions): 1.

Start with: Confidence in a Gel Lotion. 2. Next, Serum: I layer on, “When Hope is Not Enough,” by Philosophy. 3. Added moisture when needed: I use Argan Oil Milk all over on days when I need a little extra (which is daily lately due to the current hot, dry TN air we’ve been experiencing).

4. Primer: Bye Bye Lines (IT’s oil-free primer is just too drying for me, so if you have really oily skin all over, you might prefer it. ) On days where I have extra Dry/Tight areas: I’ll use Josie Maran’s pure Argan Oil only on those places that are feeling especially dry, but not all over during the day.

To the IT representatives, it would be great if you would offer this concealer in a larger size, or as more of a foundation, & in more shades. If you haven’t already developed a lotion that addresses break-outs while actually adding moisture to the skin, please, do! Since you did so great with this concealer, I bet you’d make an awesome moisturizer for this issue! 🙂 Too many lines claim to offer such a product, but their so-called, “lotion,” actually ends up stripping moisture from the skin & creating more irritation.

I LOVE THIS CONCEALER! The price threw me off at first, because I use a lot of concealer and next to mascara it’s probably the thing I buy the most. However, this stuff is the bomb! It’s not an all purpose concealer; I would definitely use something different under your eyes or over hyper pigmented spots.

For pimples, scabs from picking pimples, and red areas with large pores though it is amazing!!! I feel like it truly does help my skin barrier while it’s on and doesn’t make my problem areas worse. It has a nice matte finish, sits well over primer and is really just a great thing for anyone that struggles with acne.

It’s also great that it has the slightest green-gray things to combat redness, but doesn’t give you the same bruised look if you layer another concealer over it that a green color correcting concealer does.

I feel it looks very natural on its own and for quick every day make up I don’t feel the need to layer more concealer over it. Love love love!.

I have thread veins on my face,which seem to worsen in the summer. I’ve tried all sorts of concealers but apart from BD nothing covers properly and BD doesn’t stay on for long. Covermark does everything I want t to do! It stays put,doesn’t come off over your clothes and covers my veins.

I have found it tricky to find the right shade as the photos aren’t very accurate. I would go a shade or two lighter and then you can use normal foundation over it. My only gripe is the price-but if you want a quality product then it’s money well spent.

I felt refreshed and beautiful after applying this foundation.

Ben Nye trained Marilyn Monroe’s make up artist. He, like many in Old Hollywood was classically trained in painting and understood chroma as well as tone. If you understand this yourself, and have a light hand, this make up is invisible other than improving your complexion.

But the key is to only apply it where necessary and only reapply in darker areas like circles sun spots or spider veins. The mistake is to do what most woman will do and apply it too thickly, or even all over ones face.

Find your exact match first. Then apply only where needed, with a patting, dabbing, light blending motion. This make up is long lasting bith as far as wear, and also as far as how long a little jar of it goes.

Never powder exact for photos and on one’s oil zone. This os my go to make up. As a man who is a performer who must look good on stage and in between in public appearances, meetings, press junkets and the like, i want to look great but never visibly “made up”.

This stuff is magic but you must know what you are doing.

I have a drawerful of concealers to cover my genetic (thanks Mom!) dark circles. Yellow tones work the best to neutralize them, but. I like a bright yellow drug store brand corrector, but it’s been discontinued and was thick enough to crease.

I’ve tried higher end concealers and brighteners, but some were too dry, some really creased, some just didn’t do the job. This Ben Nye yellow is my holy grail! Glides on, doesn’t crease and look really natural.

I’m a senior, so nearly every product creases, looks spackled, just makes me look older. Not this! Best concealer/highlighter ever.

I used urban decay naked peach color corrector for YEARS because it was the only one that covered my under eye darkness and would stay put as well as be undetectable and blended well with my light skin.

Problem: it’s $30! I was out of my bottle for the third time and i am so glad i took a chance with BN color corrector. It’s such a great product. I apply 2-3 thin layers to get it to correct fully, but we’ll worth it.

It is creamy, but it dries to a nice semi matte finish without looking cakey or dry or accentuating my fine lines around my eyes. Highly recommend!.
