20 Best Cover For Macbook Pro (2023 Updated)

I bought this product a few weeks ago, and have since returned it. The case is certainly well-made, and it is nice-looking, but despite doing my utmost to press the case onto and around the screen of my MacBook, whenever I pushed the sides of the screen frame out from me to open it up, the case would move back slightly off of the screen frame.

I thought that this was happening because the little bars meant to hang over the screen frame so as to prevent the case from moving were not actually mounted over the screen-frame, but they were. So, I think that the problem with the case is that is does not sufficiently cling to the screen frame of MacBookPros, at least not in my case.

Now, it is important to note that for some people, this may not be a big issue, but I knew that it would bother me. I would recommend this product to a fiend, but I would tell them about my experience with it first.

Very good case that looks and feels good. Have had it for 4 months and no issues. I only give it a 4/5 due to the fact the bottom tends to trap heat. Even when its up i feel the bottom of the case doesn’t do a great job of heat management.

I wish it has more vent holes to help with this. Over good case but would hope for the next GEN of these have more holes to help with heat flow.

This is my first time using a shell case. The case was easy to put on. But every time I move my computer around there is a tiny bit of give in where the case meets the laptop. I dont fear that the case will fall off, but it doesnt always feel 100 secure.

To be honest though, the amount of force required to accidentally force the case off would warrant more concern over the laptop itself. The case is not really fingerprint proof, but neither is the mac.

So I clean it moderately often. But I do that with or without a case anyways, so it is nothing more than usual, but at least I have some protection. Lastly, the case doesnt latch on cleanly. There are tiny, thin lengths of the shell 12cm that hold it in place.

I assume this is the case, so that there isnt a constant force being applied across the body and screen of the laptop.

I haven’t made much use of it yet because of the quarantine, but it seems very durable and well-made. The interior is more padded than I expected, which is a major plus. Also, there is a nice padded flap that goes between the laptop and the zipper for extra protection.

Bought for a 16-inch MacBook Pro (A2141) which has an ultraslim case (Moshi iGlaze).

Insignia coming out with a MacBook/Air/Pro snap case line was exciting – An alternative to the expensive Incase ones or the super-cheap ones found online from overseas manufacturers was a welcome addition.

Unfortunately, this product is just an Insignia re-labeling of one of those cheap products to be avoided from online retailers. The fit is good, but the finish is. As bad as it gets. I usually prefer a darker case, and the “dots” snap cases are my favorites, but this one is a thin, shiny-on-the-inside with a “cloudy” veneer on the outside of the case that gives it a rubbery/grippy texture.

The production seams where the plastic parts were injection molded are still visible, and in some cases make for sharp edges along the sides of the palmrest and along the display border. The simple act of better smoothing/finishing these edges would have gone a long way to improve the fit and finish, but it wouldnt be the whole solution – These clear cases also suffer from a strange and frustrating phenomenon to do with their rubbery/grippy coating.

Whenever hands touch this stuff, oils from the hands or anything else the notebook comes in contact with leave stains of shiny, smeary appearance all over the device. These are next to impossible to remove, as the finish can’t really be fully restored once its been touched.

This makes the snap case look terrible after only a few days of use, and is largely unable to be kept clean. Many MacBook users use snap cases to protect the appearance of their high-end device and expect it to enhance/protect its appearance also, which this case doesnt to a great job of.

Insignia should look into ditching the rubbery texture and go to a textured plastic case instead.

The Insignia Macbook Pro 13. 3” hard case is a very reasonably priced option that I argue is just as good as anything else on the Best Buy website. I used to walk right past the Insignia brand products when I was a customer, but little did I know how good the quality of the products were.

Since taking a look, I almost always use the Insigna cases for my iPhones, I have a TV mount I bought, so a case for my Macbook was a logical choice. I prefer a transparent cover on my laptops, as I like to decorate them the way I want.

Or at times I don’t put anything on the transparent covers because the construction of the Mackbook if nice and you get to have the scratch protection without sacrificing the looks of the device. To start, the price point is on point.

Significantly better then the competition. To be completely honest? I cannot tell any difference between this cover and any clear ones made by other companies. The most important thing for me is how well if fits.

This case snaps tight and there is no movement or sliding once its on. There is no overlap where your ports are, specifically the cut outs are in the perfect location. The case is not bulky. It is thin and light and after you put in on you pretty much forget it is in the Mackbook.

But let there be no doubt, this is not some sort of drop resistant protection for your computer. This is for bumps and scratches, that sort of thing. All in all, this is a great product and if you are in the market for something like this for your Macbook, and I challenge you to take the time and check out the difference between this one and the competition.

I think you will find this is just as good if not better than the one if the shelf next to it. I recommend it to anyone looking to protect their device, but want something that will maintain the natural beauty of that device.

I’ve always preferred laptop sleeves to cases, but since it seems like there’s a fancy new redesigned MacBook Air looming around the corner I really want to make sure I’ll be able to maximize my resell value.

And for that purpose I have no complaints with this Insignia case. It covers the laptop well and should prevent against any minor to major scratches and dings. The bottom goes on really easily and there’s an interesting texture to the case overall that makes holding the Air a little less slippery.

But the piece that covers the lid of the laptop is kinda weird. I don’t know if I would call it “clear” in terms of appearance. There’s a frosted smokiness to it that is both cool and just strange. When I first took it out of the plastic I thought there was some major defects in color uniformity.

There were spots where it looked like that frostiness had worn off or something. It turns out those were just places that my fingers had already made contact with the plastic. But then after a few minutes, the whole thing was uniformly frosted again.

It’s so strange! And I should say that it is more noticeable when touching the underside of that piece of plastic which obviously isn’t a problem when it’s actually on the laptop’s lid. But it still picks up fingerprints and they just look odd and noticeable.

then go away. I don’t know exactly what this material is and I can’t determine if I like it. But it’s cool and I certainly prefer it to a solid color. It will just take some getting used to. And speaking of that piece that protects the lid.

it’s a little hard to get on and snap into place. It’s also a little hard to remove. So if that seems like something you want to do with any frequency, you may wish to look elsewhere. Otherwise, it covers all the parts you need covered, has a slightly grippy texture, and doesn’t look that bad.

For the price, it’s easy to recommend.

I haven’t dropped the laptop since buying this case but the design does not give me piece of mind. The plastic doesn’t seem especially sturdy. I don’t see any padding to absorb shock. It will keep dirt from the case, but it doesn’t cover the back hinge.

One reason I purchased this sort of hard case is that I work outside and I wanted to keep bugs from getting into my laptop. (Have you ever had a bug stuck in your screen. Maddening!).

Stylish, sturdy design; great fit! However, I use a hyperdrive USB-C hub that sits flush against the frame of the Mac. Buyers would need to purchase USB accessories based strictly on the design of this cover vs accessories they may prefer.

It fits perfectly with my MBP and is padded in the right areas that are commonly exposed to impact. I feel more secure having my laptop housed in it. Premium material and good value for money.

I purchased this case soon after the MacBook Pro 14 had been released so the choices were limited. I was interested in a silicon-feel hardshell case and this seemed to be close to what I was looking for.

But there have been problems. 1) The bottom part of the case does not fully attach to the MacBook; it seems to hook nicely to the front of the bottom, but near the rear hinge the case just hangs down.

2) the case has already cracked in the corner of the top cover. I did not drop my case or have any other trauma, it is just defective. I would not recommend this product. Two stars for the idea, but no stars for its value or quality.

I wanted a nicer chair due to working at home now. My previous office chairs were cheap accent chairs from WayFair/Ikea, or hand me down low end computer chairs. This chair is expensive, but well worth it.

It feels very sturdy and solid when I sit down in it. The cushioning is firm and supportive. Everything feels like a $500 chair. I sit in it for around 9 hours a day for work and never feel uncomfortable; it’s the best chair I’ve owned.

Great case for my work laptop. I would occasionally use it as a pad for my laptop on the table too. No issues with the zipper or anything. It has no space for the charging cable or anything extra. Works great for a soft padding inside a backpack or travel case too.

Makes a good, updated presentation when I take my laptop to business workshops. It coordinates with the accent color on my website, business cards and other materials but heads up, it’s a much brighter orange – a neon Bronco orange – than the picture shows and I would have preferred the softer burnt orange color.

But it is a lightweight bag with a large, handy outside zipper pocket, cushioned and ‘bendy’ and fits my 15. 5 laptop really well. I also purchased a run-of-the-mill black computer bag for another, older laptop at the same time and much prefer this one.

I wasn’t sure if I would like this case as there were no reviews and unfamiliar with the brand. After putting the case on, which was easy to install, I really like it. My MacBook feels secure incase I drop it.

It’s also clear so you can still see the Apple logo and the bottom. I would highly recommend this case if you’re looking for something not expensive to protect your computer.

This case is amazing very protective and goes on very easily just make sure you put the top on first and then the Botton. I would highly recommend this to anybody needing a protective case for the MacBook Air.

Did not fit my MacBook even though it says it will fit my model number. Keyboard cover is useless. The keys are in a different position than the cover.

This bag outperforms all the other bags I have owned. I have been very impressed both with the design and the manufacturing quality, and so far have had no issues. Quality seems comparable to Tumi/Victorinox (better than Kenneth Cole) but design features seem better than either Tumi or Victorinox.

This bag has great compartments to hold a lot while still maintaining a compact feel, and not crushing the materials inside. I’ve been truly astounded. The only negative I have is very minor for me – though attractive, the bag is not “super-stylish”.

It’s nice, but not exciting. (The Kenneth Cole bag probably looks the best. ) If you want a little more attractiveness and like leather, there is a leather version of this bag! The bag feels good to carry.

It is a cost-effective purchase.

I use this case primarily for commuting back and forth to work with a Macbook Pro 17 in. notebook computer. The case and computer together are a bit bulky to fly with frequently, but I didn’t get the Macbook Pro 17 in.

to do a lot of travel, I got it as a portable desktop replacement, and this shoulder case does a superb job of protecting it, and has plenty of pockets for accessories and paperwork. If I were frequently flying with a computer, I’d have gotten a Macbook Pro 13 or 15 in.

This bag is everything I was hoping. It’s rugged, stylish, and comfortable over long durations. The only issue I had was that the original strap that came with it although very comfortable with loads of rubber padding, the rubber very early on began to peel away from the cloth near the stitching.

After contacting Brenthaven directly about this, they immediately shiped me a brand new strap, which seems equally comfortable, and even stronger at NO charge. Brenthaven stands by their products!.

Fits really well on 2021 MacBook Pro M1 14” and looks great. Easy to fit and keeps all ports clear while protecting the MacBook top, bottom, edges & sides well. Reasonably priced compared to the limited alternatives on the market.

Recommended hard case.

I would just highlight the way that this case clips onto both the top and bottom of your macbook pro securely without the clips overlapping the edge of the laptop much. Also the way this is clear, so you keep the colour of your laptop and not try to make a fashion statement with a case!!! Worth cleaning your laptop before attaching, no point putting a case on a dusty macbook!.

I wasn’t expecting much given the price but this cover fits well, it’s thick enough to give excellent protection but doesn’t add much to the overall size of a MacBook Pro 14 inch. 2 separate pieces one for lid and one for base, ports are all accessible.

Hopefully it’ll last, my only concern is that it will crack – time will tell.

I had this laptop case for only about 6 months and it has accumulated far more damage than is reasonable for this price. I’ve been working from home, so my laptop has not been transported very much in recent months.

90% of the time, it has stayed in the same place. When being transported, it has this case as well as an additional soft case on it. I have not done anything that would explain why the corners of this case are chipping off as much as they are – no drops, no hitting the corners against anything by accident.

After only about 2 months, the bottom right corner of the top half of the case started cracking, and now at 6 months, pieces have broken off and the clasp part is gone. The bottom left corner of the case has also started to crack.

I’m not sure if this was a faulty unit or something, but it certainly isn’t worth $55, and I’m afraid to begin transporting it from my home to other places more often if it’s already falling apart like this.

Save your money and get a laptop case elsewhere.

The case is beautiful. Made from good, solid material. The design prevents from any scratches appearing on it because of the buffed out plastic. My only issue is how it stays on laptop. It feels a little flimsy at times.

If you open the laptop a certain way, it feels like it could fall off any moment. The shipping was quite fast and it had a lovely message inside it alongside some alcohol wipes.

All of my expensive devices have some type of cover or case to protect them, and my new MacBook Air was not going to be an exception. This snap case arrived earlier than expected, just a day or so before I received my new laptop.

It snapped right on in seconds, and offers a layer of protection without any unnecessary bulk. I love the pattern and it looks very pretty. I’ve had several Casetify iPhone cases in the past (including my current one) and I can attest to the level of protection they offer.

I don’t plan to test this out with my MacBook any time soon, but my previous experience with these products gives me confidence and faith that my new investment is well-protected.

I purchased this bag 10 years ago. A few days ago, one of the backpack strap holders broke coming off a train platform. It has had a good life seeing the world with me over a decade. Good bye to the best looking and lasting computer bag I have ever owned! At first I was not sure it would be big enough but it proved itself a workhorse.

More than enough space for the 4 Mac laptops it has lasted through. I got some many compliments on the looks and function of this case. I will be purchasing a new one shortly.

My wife has a 17″ MacBook Pro. Years ago I bought her a 17″ Flight Jacket from MacCase for Christmas. She loved the look, quality and function of this lap top carrying case. She is a high school teacher requiring her to transport her lap top to school, between classrooms and home every day during the school year and summer school.

She also used the Flight Jacket on many trips we made by car and plane over the years. Her use finally took its toll on the Flight Jacket. It still functioned but, didn’t look as nice as it once did.

I purchased my first Mac laptop in 1997!!!. My search for a stylish, comfortable, safe and functional case has been ongoing since. I have a shelf in my cupboard full of ‘failed’ bags. Last year I purchased this MacCase.

Together with a 16″ MacBook Pro. It has been wow since. The bag fits perfectly. Comfortable and stylish. The leather is soft and luxurious. It is the best Mac case I have owned and close to being a best general briefcase as well.

If you need space for lots of documents consider the larger version. For standard use; laptop, iPad and single docs. this is the dream.

The product is light and strong, the magnetic closure is easy to use. It’s convenient to carry anywhere. It’s protective and yet easily accessible. color is classic, very nice.

This laptop sleeve was a gift for someone who just got a 16 inch MacBook Pro. It seems snug and should be protective, even if there isn’t a flap or zipper at the top. Aesthetically, it is sleek and professional looking.

Need one to put my Surface Book 2 and opted for the 16 inch instead of 15 inch and that still wasn’t big enough! I ended up giving it to my partner who has a 15″ laptop where the magnet actually closes which can’t be done on my laptop.

For a cheaper case, it’s actually way nicer than I expected. It actually feels pretty sturdy and fits the laptop well. The grips on the bottom are great for anti-sliding. It’s way nicer than the plastic hardshells out there.

I would definitely buy again, especially for the price.

Fits our new MacBook Pro like a glove. All ports are accessible, nothing is hindered. It’s not too bulky and looks great. I still wouldn’t want to drop the laptop, but feel much happier when the kids are using it, as I reckon it would handle a good bash with the bumper case on.

The case itself overall is pretty cool and worth the price paid. The color reference per picture vs reality, a little off. (Picture shows a bright green, reality little more dull yellowish) That’s my only issue I can find with the case.

Overall worth the price for the case protection provided.

First let me say, I love my leatherology products-and I have many. My go to color Ginger has been a fav for years. Unfortunately the IPad Pro 12. 9 wasn’t offered in that color so I went with Slate. Very pretty.

I didn’t give it 5 stars for one reason. You can’t keep your Apple Pencil in its magnetic position and zip the bag closed. The pencil will however slip down in the side of the bag. , but can slip out if you are not careful.

You can however keep the slim Apple keyboard on the Ipad and it will fit in the case, albeit a bit snug. Just a small design flaw not being able to keep the Apple Pencil in it docking place.

This is not my first time purchasing and I would do it again! I had a red faux crocodile case for my work MacBook. As it happened, my laptop was old and my work upgraded me. Unfortunately, my old case did not fit my new MacBook and I knew I would be coming to Chic Geeks to order! I decided to switch to the Grey this time and I wasn’t disappointed.

I was excited to get my Chic Geeks laptop case because the green was pretty, and it’s even more stunning in person. I wasn’t expecting it to be as functional as it was, though. I was holding this case in my hands as I rushed out the door because we were going on vacation.

In my hurry, I slipped and fell, and my laptop slipped out of my hands. I was so concerned, but my laptop was 100% okay, just a bit dirty. No cracks, no real damage. I am thankful I had this beautiful case on my laptop.

Soon after, I got two more Chic Geek cases, and I am excited to continue purchasing from this store.
