I wanted to try playing the Mandolin. This package is a good way to do that. Instrument, yes a Rogue, exceeded expectations in construction quality. As a complete novice I would not know a good Mandolin from a poor one, but know enough from experiences with my guitars and ukulele to see solid construction.

Excellent finish, tuners work well, I suspect strings are low quality and I will eventually replace (as you will do one way or another with every string instrument). Case/gig bag works, and the included books are helpful.

Set bridge, tune it, and play. Set up right out of the box pretty good, action height acceptable, and no buzzing.

Super happy with this purchse. To be clear, I am new to Mandolin but a 25+ year guitar player. I always wanted one of these but didn’t want to spend a ton of money on an instrument that wasn’t a new guitar.

This fit the bill. Time and action are fine for the price. I find it stays in tune extremely well! I expected much less from this instrument. This has been a ton of fun and my kid loves it too. I’m actually going to buy him one.

This would be a great starter and something to play around the campfire without worrying about it. Although I’m not familiar enough with mandolins, I’d say it’s perfect for those that know what an entry level instrument provides.

If you expect professional performance, you will most likely be dissapointed.

10 I’m a longtime guitar player, got the itch to try the mandolin. Figured to start as inexpensively as possible, bought this Rogue package. I’ve had more fun for the price than I ever would have thought possible! And I have learned a lot, too.

I’ve always been afraid to mess with my own guitars, but after a well-known luthier screwed up the setup of a pretty expensive classical guitar of mine I thought I’d use this to build my own setup abilities.

First off, the bad: the nut was way too high to be decently playable; the bridge was so high that at its lowest setting it was still off the scale over the 12th fret; I have read some reviewers complain the strings are bad, but they seemed all right to me during setup, but nothing I’d leave on.

Setup: I took everything but the tuners off, polished and waxed her. Lubed the tuners (you can use pencil lead, which is mostly graphite, or a small dab of vaseline, oiled the fretboard (I have a Dunlop guitar care kit, used the fretboard oil in the kit).

Used a Dremel to shave the bridge down close, and then finish-sanded it on the body for a good fit. I made my own nut saws and took two iterations to get the bridge and nut heights where I wanted them.

Currently at 12th fret I’m 1. 5 mm over with no buzzing, I may try lower action to see how it plays; intonation is dead-on, measured with an electronic tuner; the floating bridge is wood, easy to set, looks cheap but works very well.

I lubed the nut before putting on the strings. Reassembled and changed the strings to D’Addarios (the same ones Ricky Skaggs uses!) and started playing her tonight. The good: Action is very nice; no fret buzzing on the entire length of the fretboard; sound is nicer than I expected, kind of woody, not tinny; the finish is better than I expected (not perfect, but darned good); the binding is much better than it has the right to be (for the price).

All in all, for a campfire or starter mando this is a crazy bargain. I researched a couple-dozen luthier websites and read a few books to figure out how to set her up right – I’ve gained the confidence to mess with my harem of guitars now! Best money I’ve spent in a loooooong time.

Oh, and the books are both useful, and the gig bag is padded and well-constructed. It’s such a good value I want to buy another one! When you order it buy a couple of sets of replacement strings and some picks!.

Shipping was super fast, the cover is really bright, even brighter than in the pictures! I can’t wait to try it in our murky lakes! It’s kind of obvious how to put it on, but some instructions would be nice.

Overall 8/10 would buy again!.

Great item to make sure your kit stands out on the waters edge. Not the easiest to get on/off with it being a tight fit. I’ve mounted it in on large bladder which in the dry seemed too small but in the water still provides enough lift and it keeps the bladder compact when deflated.

I was very happy with the speed and ease of ordering my bladder cover. Once I received it I was impressed of the quality and color of the product. I will definitely be recommending this product to those who want to put a bit of color to their BCD.

I originally bought a 230 pound set 6 months ago. I then went to Columbus on a business trip and stopped by the HQ and bought another 50 pounds. These feel solid, they kill a bounce well, and they slide on smooth.

The fact this range covers 10lb and 15lb is great for beginners or someone who doesn’t want to spend a lot on change plates initially and is fine with a pair of 2. 5lb plates and then the 10lb bumper full size.

A few things to note based on other reviews: 1) They smell like rubber strongly when you get the box. I LOVE this smell. It’s my favorite part of unboxing these things. I understand why some people would not.

The smell has dispersed for me to a faint hint; I think most of the smell ends up in the little foam protection slips that come with the packaging. I would in no way consider the smell nearly as strong as my stall mats, though.

2) These are hard to hold one-handed from the edge once you get around 25lb (for me, tbf, I’m sure different hand sizes and grips have different mileage). They are slick/smooth and the “lip” on the face is not deep enough for a firm, secure hold.

I don’t mind this and it is a zero issue for me because I’m only carrying it one handed when I want to be lazy and not make two trips to the rack. I would not call mine oily. Just hard to grip with one hand and that makes me pay attention a bit more with two hands.

I love this product. If you can’t afford to buy a full set of dumbbells or don’t have enough space, this is a perfect product. The only complaints I have is that you can’t drop them without resetting the collars, they are too long for my wife to use comfortably, and if the collars snag on your pants they can come off and weights drop off.

However, these things are all of minimal importance if you are careful and have enough weights to not limit your range of motion by using smaller weights. Also, I have not have the collar snapping onto your fingers issue but my wife has multiple times.

That all being said, these are the perfect product for a home gym. If you can work around the obvious negatives, they work perfectly. I have been able to use them from everything from basic chest press to very heavy dumbbell triceps extension without anything slipping.

If you are limited in space or money and need a full set of dumbbells, but this product without a doubt.

I was super excited to get these plates but was disappointed when they arrived. There were issues with my shipment and while some of that is out of Rogue’s control, it still makes a bad impression on them as a company.

The plates were shipped in individual boxes and almost every single plate was damaged in some way when I got them. I will say that Rogue were good to give me a discount (after I provided thorough documentation of the damages).

However, after first use these plates started to show wear. I have a GetRX’d storage rack and the plates actually got dented just by placing them in the rack. My local gym has Eleiko plates and the same racks and this does not happen.

The rogue plates also became very dirty, very quickly. I have a small home gym in my garage with rubber flooring so it is quite clean but the plates just get marked easily. Bottom line: these plates look fantastic and are very nice to lift with but they mark easily and seem to wear out quickly.

These are excellent gels. I ordered both the Universal Kit and the Color Correction kit. The only reason I gave this kit four stars is because the printed Kelvin temperatures on the color correction gels in this kit are not correct.

They are the exact same color correction gels as in the color correction kit but they have the wrong Kelvin numbers on them. They will work exactly like the color correction gel kit, just know the Kelvin numbers are off.

The color gels are great for creative shots. Both of the kits I received came with two of the dark greenish blue bands for larger flashes such as a Godox TT685 or AD200 and one yellow band that secures the gels to smaller flashes.

They provide full coverage for any fresnel head.

The wording in the shirts and items touch my heart deeply! These are very decent budget cast iron plates. Just understand going into it, you’re not getting a flawless product. Things happen coming out of the cast. Plates aren’t perfect on every edge as they are not machined.

You also are not getting the best pain job in the world. It’s a “budget” plate, so temper your expectations. In spite of this, I found these plates to be extremely accurate in diameter and weight. I have a large basement gym and like many lifters, I have multiple sets of different plates.

I also own roughly 800 lbs of plates from The Strength Co and in all brutal honestly, though these Rogue plates aren’t as ‘pretty,’ they are more accurate on the weight than The Strength Co. WAY more accurate.

Most of The Strength Co plate 45’s are 5-9oz UNDER the stated weight, while virtually every 45 lbs plate from Rogue is maybe 1-3 oz OVER the stated weight. I have fourteen of these 45 lbs plates and I think the most inaccurate plate is 5oz.

over the stated weight. I also expected there to be a considerable difference in plate size with The Strength Co plates being 17. 75″ in diameter and these Rogue plates only being 17. 5″, but side by side, the difference this makes is insignificant, as both plates are nearly identical in size.

The Strength Co plates are touted for their extremely tight tolerances on the bar, but again, these Rogue plates win out, being extremely tight on both my Rogue and Texas bars. I found The Strength Co plates to have A LOT more play on the barbell sleeve.

I only mention this in case you care about that sort of thing. In all, these are one of the better budget options for plates and, owning highly toughed Made in the USA plates, I can attest, they aren’t any better than these cheapies from Rogue.

Been using these for over a year. These are the best plates I’ve ever used. The finish has held up on mine and they look still look like new. I have 45s, 25s, 10s, and 5s. The 45s are amazing, the machining on the 10s and 5s also make them stand out as special.

The 25s have the machined back and center hole, but I think they should have machined the front lip to help differentiate them a little more from a typical 25lb plate. These fit very precisely on my Ohio Power Bar and my general purpose bar.

Not overly tight to where it is hard to put them on the bar or they catch, but perfect so that there is almost no slop and you have to be deliberate when loading and unloading the bar. I weighed mine and they were all equal or just over and well within tolerance of their stated weight.

Something you wouldn’t think would matter but does, is the sound they make when loading and unloading, re-racking, or deadlifting. There is almost a ring, chime, or bell noise and it is awesome. It’s not really caused by any slop in how they fit on the bar, but from the plates touching each other.

You won’t hear it all the time unless you clang the weights together, lift aggressively, etc, but it’s awesome. I have about 10 grand invested in my gym and these might be my favorite piece of equipment which says a lot considering weight is just weight – usually.

So I’ve done research on a variety of plates and settled on the rogue USA Olympic plates. They are machined exceptionally well and have a beautiful finish. Baby smooth on the back and a throw back cast iron aesthetic branding on the front.

ALL of these plates weigh at least what they are supposed to and are generally at an industry leading tolerance for non competiton plates(in my experience). I had an issue with rogue QC with the DB-15’s(end cap was shredded and dumbbell looked used or boneyard worthy) but I honestly didn’t mind and never followed up.

I’ve now ordered 6 pairs of the 10 pound plates and they are all within a 1oz + tolerance. Some of them within a few grams. You can buy thinner change plates. You can buy generally more accurate plates.

You can buy better looking plates. But you’d be hard-pressed to do any 1 of those 3 for equal or less money. Not cheap but for what you get, the best bang for your buck.

I purchased these plates a week ago on Tuesday evening and they showed up the following Monday morning, super quick to get from Columbus to Scottsdale. I was expecting to wait 2-4 weeks for them. Typical of Rogue to exceed expectations.

The boxes were in great shape and packed tight and all six plates (I ordered the 230lb set) came without a scratch. The pictures on the website do not do these justice. They are gorgeous plates with a incredible finish.

I expect they’ll hold up well but only time will tell. These are the best plates I’ve bought from Rogue and I’ve gone through just about every bumper they offer and the metal change plates. Quality is always great but this is another level – guess that’s the USA made difference.

As far as weight tolerance, I weighed each and the 45s are between 3 and 8 ounces above 45, well within tolerance stated on the website. The 25s were close as well, one came in at 24 and 15 ounces and once was 25 and 3 ounces.

Good enough for me. I didn’t pay for calibrated plates so I don’t expect perfection. I’m really happy overall. I’d say buy some before the prices are unattainable. I’m seriously considering getting rid of my training plates and just using these for all my lifts.

For the last several years I’ve just had cheap used plates. They’ve done the job, that’s for sure. I’d been considering finding another 1-2 pairs of 45s for a while — and then a pandemic happened. This spring I decided to buy some equipment, and started taking a look at these plates.

I kicked around the idea of just buying 1-2 pairs, but ultimately decided to replace all of my 45s and 25s with these plates. If/when Rogue decides to start making matching 10s, 5s, and 2. 5s, I will likely buy some of those too, to complete my set.

They are expensive, yes, and you will probably have a long wait — but actually when compared to the other options for new, USA made 45s, these are priced just as good or better, and have some additional benefits, I think.

We might have to kiss the days of $1/lb goodbye for good. The machining and finish on these is great, and make for a unique look. The tolerances are great. With my old 45s, I have no idea if most of them were 43 pounds of 47, or who knows — and I was afraid to weigh them to find out.

Knowing that these are guaranteed to not be underweight, and to be within +2% (less than a pound) of the marked weight, I know that the weight is what it says it is. And seeing how nicely they line up next to each other! With my old plates, they were all slightly different diameters and the edges were rough.

But these all fit snugly onto the bar and create an almost completely flat surface from plate to plate. I know some people have complained that they’re actually *too* wide, and that it limits how much weight you can fit on the bar, or makes plate storage more difficult.

The plate storage could be a real issue — I’m still figuring that out for myself. But as far as what can fit on the bar? I could fit 725 onto my Power Bar with what I have now, and my deadlift is nowhere near that.

If it ever gets that high, maybe I’ll consider rewarding myself with a pair of hundos. They’re actually *not* as wide as most bumpers. Brian Shaw is using them, and he loves them. And I guarantee Brian Shaw lifts more than you do.

I do have two small complaints, though: (1) Some people have pointed out that they’re louder than other plates. So far, this seems to be true. They have a higher-pitched “ting!” noise that seems to resonate more than my old plates.

Might bother some people more than it bothers me. (2) It will probably be a pain in the butt to do weighted chins or dips with these plates, given their extra width. I might have to hang onto a pair of the old 45s just for that reason.

My Olympic lifts have gotten so much better after using these blocks. I had an issue with the quality of a couple of the boxes but Rogue promptly sent me replacements without asking to return the damaged ones.

If you’re on the fence I’d say give it a go and he will not be disappointed!.

Decided to finally bite the bullet and order these. Was tired of using make shift blocks or picking the bar up after heavy jerks. These blocks are amazing and was surprised how easy they store in a 2 car garage with out eating a ton of space.

I’m 6”0 tall so the starter set works perfectly for me for below and above the knee movements as well as regular jerks. For conditioning, I have stacked them 6ft tall abs done sandbag throw overs and climb over burpees etc.

they are super sturdy and seem to be indestructible.

Brought these for the studio during the COVID-19 Quarantine. But did really appreciate the dynamic and Diverse Workout that can Achieved. So I have been playing around with them for the last 3 months and have Pleasantly pleasantly surprised based on not having a rack you can almost do just about everything with these with a little bit of imagination.

I got a set of the color echo bumpers and kept worrying that maybe I should have spent more and gotten the competition plates. So I ended up getting a set of competition 45s to compare. In comparison, these color echo plates are grippier (easier to pick up) and although some may prefer this.

the competition plates have a tighter tolerance for the hole in the center of the plate. which sounds like it would be a good thing, but it makes the plates more difficult to get on and off the bar. The color echo plates are a little looser, so it’s much easier to slide them on and off the bar.

I’d say that unless you have a very specific reason to get a fancier bumper plate (like the competition), I’d just be happy with the color echo plates. They are really nicely made, easy to grab onto, and easy to put on the bar.

And they look very nice in person. extremely happy with these!.

I was going to pick up a pair of spring clips on Amazon but couldn’t bring myself to do it. I always trust the quality of Rogue products so I thought why look elsewhere? These style clips are what I am used to and they work great.

There isn’t a clip out there that won’t loosen up (at least from my experience) when doing repeated overhead drops so the question is how fast can you tighten them back up and furthermore, take them off so you can add or remove weight? Fast.

Real fast.

I got the cheapest collar. Nevertheless its effective for the way I used it! Easy and simple to use with classic look. I’m an OG. Four stars for now. I want to know the durability of the collars. Stay tune for my follow up review with pictures.

I dig ’em. Sturdier tension over cheaper chain stores. Lever width feels a little narrow, with longer handles, and thicker steel. Nice and strong. I always liked these types of collars because they’re like a “mini-motor function exercise” in between sets – in a way challenging whatever strength progress I’ve made on COC’s, etc.

Which is currently at least a #2. Where strength isn’t anything without dexterity, is what I mean to say.

Very disappointed with these. I really wanted to like these but they are not well made. 1. MAGNETS: Keep in mind you are buying a collar that is magnetic. This means that the collar will stick to the barbell sleeve inadvertently when you are putting the collars on since the magnets are so strong.

This makes changing out the collars a difficult task unless you are really paying attention and using both hands to make sure it doesn’t stick to the barbell sleeve. 2. QUALITY: The finish on these collars is poor.

For example, I slide these collars on my barbell once (didn’t even use the bar) and after I took off the collars they were already chipping/scuffed and the paint was scratched up. Rogue customer service said this was to be expected even though I never even used them in a workout yet.

Also, if you are actually going to use these and clip them on to the rig— then plan for the finish to get absolutely destroyed. Again, this may not be an issue for you but I would have liked to know this myself before I paid such a premium for these.

3. Rogue WILL NOT let you return these so you should really consider if paying such a premium is worth it to you personally given the points mentioned above. They are difficult to put on the barbell and the fact that the finish literally just chips/scratches off was a disappointment to me but perhaps others may not mind those flaws in a $70 collar.

I wish I would have opted for the standard rogue aluminum collars instead. I hope this helps someone out there! Seems like the reviews for this product didn’t match up to the product quality in my opinion….

Build quality and functionality are excellent! Really locks the plates in, even on deadlifts. In terms on function, they work exactly as advertised and I’m very happy with how secure the collars are.

There is one critique I personally have (although may not be an issue with others) – the magnets are on both sides of the collar. This means the collars stick to the plates, and especially for lighter plates, you have to “peel” the collar from the plates every time you remove the collar.

Not enough to dock a star, but I would prefer the magnets to be on only one side rather than both – so that when I put the collar on, I would use the side that does not have the magnets facing the plates to prevent the collar from “sticking”.

There’s a set screw that holds the magnets in place, but I can’t seem to find the right size allen wrench to remove it. If I can successfully remove one side of magnets, this would be the perfect collar.

Other than that, it still is nice to have the convenience of storing the collars on the rack rather than just laying around.

I had the original Weider Armblaster many years ago-gold bar with a blue nylon strap and metal buckles on swivels-and never wore it out. The Rogue is superior! My old Weider was far far better than the vast majority of cheap copies on the market now, but with a thick leather strap, heavy duty fixed post metal buckles, and a solid, properly sized (not made for a child) bar, the Rogue is a much better piece of equipment.

Let’s face it folks, gym equipment isn’t getting any easier to find. An arm blaster is a great addition to the gym because it gives me the opportunity to work on preachers sans a dedicated bench (which in turn helps my strict curls—yeeeah buddy).

This blaster is fantastically constructed, a couple millimeter thicker than most other versions, and the magnetic fast release straps are great because that thing usually gets hung up on my hoodie. Can’t say enough about this.

10/10 easy.

First- I have been totally opposed to using something like this because it’s gimmicky, looks goofy, costs too much and I know I wouldn’t drag it back and forth to the gym. I have some nagging tendonitis in my elbow/forearm that has kept me from doing isolation bicep work for about 2 years now.

Since ‘rona I started working out at home and because this thing says ROGUE on it and has a leather strap, I decided to try to it out. I figured if it didn’t work I could probably sell it for a grand now that people are paying ridiculous money for things they probably don’t need.

Anyway- This thing is great! I’m able to lift heavy without pain and because I lift alone no one will see that I bought into the gimmicky arm blasting apparatus! I will NOT be returning or reselling my arm blaster!.

I have had the 2. 5 and 5 kg friction grip change plates for my home gym and have used them for 6+ months. I probably use them every session as I add weight. I have an Oly style fitness bar (standard sized collars) and a Rogue Oly cerakote bar.

They’re initially very tight on the collar but are just a touch less so now after a lot of sessions, but they’re still so mechanically tight that they would not come off of the bar until I take them off.

IMHO exactly as designed. They make me happy using them. The colors are still bright. They never smelled like rubber (I’m in SoCal and in a well ventilated garage though) and they were a sound investment in my Oly lifting pursuits.

The tolerance on these is so tight that they might not fit depending on the bar you own/buy, and this varies plate per plate. I bought these with a stainless steel Ohio bar and for all but maybe 2 plates, adding/removing these takes a hammer and crowbar.

My Texas Power bars are a great fit, snug but slide on and off easily enough. I also have a plate-loaded lat pulldown (not from Rogue) and these don’t fit *at all*, so I’m forced to order normal the non-FG variety unless I plan to live with 10KG increments.

Unless you can somehow guarantee your bar sleeves are small enough, don’t buy these. If it wasn’t for them fitting well on my Texas Power bars I would’ve exchanged them immediately, which is the reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1.

Cool concept, poor quality control.

These plates are for competitions, and this have an unusually tight fit. Apparently this is on purpose. However, it makes them extremely difficult to add and remove from the bar. I would NOT recommend them unless you are in a situation where you MUST use competition plates.
