I bought this gift set of books after I had bought one book from the series for my grand daughter. She loved the first one and requested the beginning books of the series. She has such glowing reports of the books that I have asked her to pass them onto me when she is finished.

It is wonderful that the material is so exciting, it keeps her busy reading and wanting more. I highly recommend these books for the pre-teen set or even older.

This book box set was bought for my 11 year old grandson’s birthday and he absolutely loves it and has devoured it – he already asked for the next books in the same series for Christmas. His younger sister is now reading and loving them and I have recommended them to a number of grandmother friends who also bought them so very happy with these books.

I have read the entire series and am catching up on some of her latest books, but I wanted to recommend these books to anyone who loves cats, or talking animal books or Erin hunter. These are a middle school reading level but I LOVE this series.

I started it in third grade and have been hooked ever since. These would be a great nightly read.

Great series. All ages will enjoy this – 10yrs + to adult. The story can get quiet complicated but the relationships between the cats and they way the author personalises each animal is amazing.

I received what must be a re-sealed box. Box was missing the Ravager upgrade sprue and all of the kabalite warriors. Bases were in a zip-lock bag rather than the standard GW sealed bag.

Lovely to get some warhammer at a discount, was packaged beautifully 5 star from me.

Great combat patrol box, probably the best in all of 40K. Get 2 and it’s a solid start for a Drukhari army.

I’ve read and loved the Warriors series ever since it first came out. HOWEVER, over the years as writers and editors on the team have quit and new ones have joined, it’s just not the same. The books are rushed so they can release them quickly, and you can tell with the story as well.

The original first two or three series were amazing, with relatable characters and life lessons about normal cats. NOW, they keep adding real world references to pop culture, like making the cats have superpowers and making them “imposters” from Among Us.

I mean SERIOUSLY?! They are CATS. Not humans! How do they know what Among Us is?? The books have been getting sloppy with the story, as some of the newest ones have absolutely no context and are just filler.

Anyways, the Warrior series has been great. I highly recommend the Super Editions like Bluestar’s Prophecy and Tallstar’s Revenge (highly rated among long time Warrior fans) as well as the first books made.

It’s been great reading this series, but if they keep it up how they been going downhill in quality- they’ve lost a reader.

My 9 year old absolutely Loves the Warriors series. It finally got her interested in reading. maybe too interested. It’s hard to get her to stop reading some nights. She’s constantly talking about the characters, story line or what she thinks will happen next.

She went from never wanting to read to reading a book a week. So buying the box sets is perfect. And she loves his the spines of each book create a picture. A win all around. I highly recommend the series for children around her age.

My 10yo daughter loves these book series – this is the second one and she goes through them fast which means they are highly engaging! She loves the cat characters and the adventures. I love any books which encourage her to read so much and she’s been drawing the characters out of the books now which is cute.

I have over 100 hours into this game and feel like I have enough experience to write a solid review. Pros: Different style of weapons and armor, lots of options Very satisfying when you finally beat some of the harder monsters The monsters themselves are pretty cool, extraordinarily athletic for their relative sizes Cons: There’s no pause.

Seriously. This is so stupid. You’re given a time limit and if you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of a monster fight, no pause. Kiddie type feel to the gameplay, you have a pun making cat for a partner, have to watch childlike cut scenes every time you eat and the handler might as well be straight out of a cartoon.

The graphics and environments aren’t that impressive (definitely not compared to Witcher 3) The game is a grind, kill monsters over and over and many times the same ones. Upgrade your equipment, repeat.

Lots of things aren’t explained well at all, like how to use the trees for weapons, when you actually use the insects/kinsects. The speaking of the characters is a huge disappointment, they don’t even speak half the words.

The storyline isn’t very good either. There’s a ton to this game and the learning curve is fairly steep I was overloaded with information the first 10 hours or so. Overall I do enjoy it, but it is a huge time commitment and only for those that enjoy grinding.

MHW has been garnering a lot of praise, and rightfully so. It’s fun, it’s huge, plenty to do, and many reviews have mentioned its friendliness to newcomers. As a newcomer myself, that last bit was important to me, and if you’re new to the series, this is a great time to begin your monster hunting.

with a caveat. One needs to be fully aware of a couple of things before taking the dive. 1) it may be friendly to newcomers, but it IS an in-depth game that has a simple premise, but requires a lot of experimenting and learning from mistakes.

Friendly it is, but forgiving it is not. 2) this is not a game to pop in for short bursts. It requires time when you load it up. Hunts can eat up 45 minutes, only for bad luck (close to a kill when a roaming monster stronger than the one you’re hunting suddenly stumbles upon your epic battle,) to intrude and you need to begin anew.

If you enjoy “Souls” style games, MHW will be somewhat reminiscent. You’ll learn from mistakes in battle or realize you chose to carry the wrong weapon for this hunt, OR realize after several attempts that you need to level your gear some and have to halt the hunt altogether while you take on sidequests to earn gear upgrade points.

MHW may feature a lot of action roleplaying fundamentals, but beneath it all is a tight tactical simulation that requires you to memorize your prey’s attacks and when they’ll use them, what PART of the body is weakest on them, and to save it all to memory so that if you fall, you’ll return to the hunt a better hunter.

The creatures and gameworld are gorgeous- one of the few games I wish I had a PS4Pro and HDR to see it even further in depth. But, the beauty goes beyond graphics. There’s a level of immersion involved thanks to not just seeing creatures of different types interact in the wild as you explore, but even to the loot system.

Looting makes sense, in a BIG way. You can, on many creatures even cut off their tail. But, if you need a creature’s tooth for an upgrade, attacking it’s head to “loosen” it up will increase your odds.

Fighting a creature that breathes fire? Find a creature with natural fire immunity and hunt them until you have the materials you need. Fighting a venomous creature? Odds are those poison arrows are worth about as much as a regular arrow.

Fighting a creature who can fly? Attack its wings to prevent it from taking flight. And much of this common sense approach helps offset the MANY things that MHW WON’T be newcomer-friendly about. If you don’t enjoy discovering things that many games consider necessities to teach you, then despite the reviews, it may not be for you.

Unless you’re willing to search the internet for. If you have patience, if you’re looking for a game and world that will keep you sucked in for untold hours, then you owe it to yourself to take those first steps into Monster Hunter World.

Very fun gameplay, with an unique over the top story. You play as Lo Wang, an assassin, who has been betrayed by his boss. Along with your sharp bladed Katana, you get an arsenal of weaponry. including, shuriken, a shotgun, crossbow, pistol and machine gun (which can all be upgraded) If that’s not enough, you can also master magical powers, and use them, along with your Gun-Fu weapons.

As you slash and blast your way through hordes and hordes of demons, you learn more and more about the story (which involves something about golems, a demonic mask, supernatural creatures known as Whisperers, ect.

) I’ll admit the story is a bit confusing and (in my opinion) kind of stupid, but the gameplay is just straight up non stop action (which to me, that alone makes this game worth your time and money).

I picked this up from a Mighty Ape daily deal for $20 on PS4. I really enjoyed the original Shadow Warrior from 1997 and this one seemed to have good reviews, so I took a punt on it. I’m glad I did. As soon as the prologue chapter started I could not stop grinning from ear to ear.

Big dumb fun doesn’t even begin to describe it. I won’t spoil anything, but lovers of 80s and 90s pop culture will have a blast with all of the references. It was worth the money just for the first 15 minutes alone.

Graphics are average for PS4 standards, but it controls well, and the story and humour are outstanding. If you’re into shooters and are maybe sitting on the fence with this, do not hesitate, specially if it’s on sale again.

Pretty standard fare where FPS are concerned, but with enough quirks to the gameplay to make it interesting. The story is actually pretty interesting with some good typical gamer humour and self aware about its one liners.

I highly recommend this for a good few hours of brainless fun and cheap laughs but with a decent story to carry it through. Dont look for replayability other than achivement and collectible hunting however.

Still its better than most triple x games that have been excreted by the industry recently, and for the price you cant go much wrong.

I already owned it via the eshop but didnt mind buying the physical copy which I was quite happy about. Graphics are amazing and has a lot replay value

I bought this for my son, since he’s a Warhammer 40K freak. He loves it. Obviously fairly old tech, but a well-designed game that’s fun and gives some cool background from the 40k Universe. A few issues though.

You can only save one game per difficulty setting, no multiple profiles like in Halo and such. Also there’s some little issues with accuracy to the Warhammer universe, like lasguns that kick and use clip ammo.

Two player is very fun and easy to pick up for veterans of FPS games.

Fire Warrior is an exciting, enigmatic game that immerses you in the grim future of the 40k universe. It’s very intense and fast paced, but leaves something to be desired with re-playability. Once you’re beaten the game, there’s nothing new to do, other than boost your stats (which doesn’t count for much unless you’re looking to unlock cheats).

Very storyline driven, and very intense. I enjoyed it the first time through.

This game provides hours of fun and is perfect for those who are interested in exploring the world of warhammer.

This was a fascinating read, tracing the story of South Africa right back to hunter-gatherer days up to the days of apartheid. Michener gives us the history from a human perspective, through the lives of families.

He tries to let us see the history from the point of view of the main different factions though really what we see is from the point of view of the British and that of the Boers. I read this book in conjunction with my first visit to South Africa and found it immensely helpful in understanding the country better.

I would have found a history book too dry and reading this brought the history to life by covering not just the main events but the impact they had on the different areas of South African society. I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone wishing to have a ‘potted history’ of South Africa.

It is a thoroughly engaging read. The reason I have given it 4 instead of 5 stars is due to the fact that the point of view of black and coloured South Africans does not have equal space in the book.

However that may well be because these people had little say and hence little impact or influence on most of the historical events of recent centuries – so perhaps I am judging too harshly.

Interesting book having lived in the Republic for 10+ years it brings back fond memories, not yet finished but well written. Thanks Roger

my little brother wanted me to read him one of the warrior cat books and he ended up loving it. I read the books as a kid and also really enjoyed it. I then decided to get the first six books for us to read together and Im very happy with my purchase, thank you!!.

Best books you’ll ever read! This series will leave you begging for more! Detailed story plot is easy for people of 10 and above to follow. And character personalities will bring forth great emotion as you follow these cats through the wilderness as if you were part of they’re Clan! You can’t help, but cry as you experience the ups and downs these cats face on they’re journey.

The story is exciting, heartwarming, emotional, and sometimes makes me cry. There is never a dull moment. I am sharing these books with another cat lover. I love the values in these books.

I really enjoyed it. Although I do wish it supports online for whatever mission is too difficult or just take them on with a friend for fun, or with anyone really. I hope maybe the next Hyrule Warriors, they’d support online play functionality.

Gameplay: it only plays at 30fps, although it dips in some really heavy commotion, but it doesn’t suffer too gravely. Story: it takes place and time before BOTW, I believe. Value: I think it’s one of those hack and slash game if you’re really into it, and you like Zelda? This is for you: It’s a fun game!.
