We like to leave our bedroom window open a crack for fresh air, but heavy wind or weather make for too much breeze or noise. By cutting 2. 25″ 2. 25″ Thermwell Weather Seal to length, and closing the window on it, the wind sound and breeze are filtered just right.

My first experience with silicone storage bags was with the Stashers brand. I see them in a lot more stores, they seem to dominate the market. Stashers work pretty well, but after trying Zip Top storage containers, I wont buy any more Stashers.

First, and most importantly, Zip Tops are easier to clean. I simply run them through the dishwasher, held open by a few adjacent prongs in the rack, and they come out immaculate. The seal of Stashers fits together tightly all the way to the edges, which means that getting into the inside crease is very difficult, if not impossible, and makes them prone to mold.

Stashers are good for foods or dry goods that arent too liquid, moist, or sugary. Because Zip Tops have a seam that is less tight near the ends, they can be thoroughly and completely cleaned very easily by hand or by the dishwasher.

For long-term storage of items that need to be VERY airtight meat in a freezer, crispy crackers that need to avoid humidity, I admit that Zip Tops wouldnt work as well as Stashers, but Id rather use a sealed jar or Tupperware-type container for chips.

I dont freeze animal proteins. I use the Zip Tops to store frozen vegetables and they work great, but they arent completely airtight, but I dont keep anything frozen for more than a month or two, so they arent frozen long enough to freezer burn.

Zip Tops are easier to seal than Stashers. The zip seams are thicker and more substantial and I find the Zip Tops easier to get to close. I have good manual dexterity and fine motor skills, not clumsy, stubby fingers like Fred Flintstone.

Zip Tops are much thicker, stronger silicone. I have a Zip Top that I use for freeze dried cat food–raw marshmallow puffs of raw chicken and salmon–and I put a handful into a Zip Top and smash the meat puffs with a flat metal pounder disc to powder them before reconstituting them with water.

These are NOT leak proof and nowhere does the site state that they ARE leak proof-so don’t fill these with soup and tip it upside down or on it’s side or jostle it around-they will most likely leak. I don’t hold that against them since to my knowledge the competition doesn’t claim the leak proof idea either.

Silicone bags with the “zipper” close tops aren’t the best option for wet foods/liquids that will be tossed around. Try a thermos or other screw/snap top containers for that type of use. And the tops will most likely “pop” open if you put hot foods in and immediately close them up for storage in the fridge or your bag.

These types of bags are meant for storage of room temp/cold items. So if you store away your hot lunch in the AM and see that the top isn’t sealed/the bag is bulbous/your food is cold at lunch time-don’t call this a bad product.

As you can probably tell, some of the attributes to these are also their downfall. If you’ve got the space for them, don’t mind fiddling around with fridge/cabinet space to accommodate them, and use them appropriately, then these would be a GREAT buy.

Perfect product to fit around the gap between the windows and the house. Very easy to cut and press in between the gaps. I used a screwdriver to push the foam into the gap. Very affordable and helps not waste caulk when going around the house.

Have had a hard time finding these in stores this year. Use them on our screen porch now, as my husband has made panels to put the plastic in. They last great, through winter cold, and ones in bottom of screened porch do well through summer.

We can remove the panels without damaging the plastic. Have used these in the past, indoor and outdoor ones for older windows before replacing them, and they did great as an insulator against the cold air seeping in.

The window insulation sheets and tape were easy to apply, but on all four windows that I covered, the sheets blew away after 3 to 6 weeks in ordinary wind. This has never happened in previous years in which I used other brands.

I purchased Dap 33 to repair glazing on antique windows. It went on easily. I left the window inside the house at a constant 70° for 4 weeks. Still soft. When I attempted to coat with oil base primer the foam brush shredded the edges.

After allowing the primer to dry I cleaned up the edges and the putty peels off. Absolutely a ZERO product. I will have to remove it all on 6 windows and start over again.

I wish I would have taken heed of the other reviewers who claimed this glazing never cures, and did not assume they were simply doing something incorrectly. they were 100% correct. I applied this glazing 3 weeks ago, and kept the panes indoors with a slight ceiling fan breeze to assist with the curing process.

I figured by now the glazing would FINALLY be ready to paint, but it is still exactly the same consistency as the day I applied it, and comes off of the pane with just the slightest touch of the finger.

This is an absolutely useless product. please learn from my mistake, save yourself time and money, and do not purchase ths product.

This compound has been around for a long time. It says to it’s quality. But hubby hasn’t used it yet! He will and I’m sure it will be fine!
