20 Best Counter Depth Refrigerator Reviews (2023 Updated)

There are so many design flaws that seem like rookie engineering mistakes I wonder how they could possibly have come from Bosch. The very thick door edges hit adjacent countertops and drawer handles when swung open so we had to pull the fridge out a couple inches, ruining the built-in look.

We didn’t have this problem with our previous KitchenAid refrigerator so it’s definitely not inherent to counter-depth fridge design. The bottom shelf is made of a full-width piece of glass that’s too thin to support the weight of products that any normal person would put in the fridge.

With no center support, not only does that glass shelf sag but then the deli drawer under it no longer seals shut against it as a result. The ice maker design is atrocious. Ice falls over the back of the bin onto the cabinet floor below where you can’t reach it, and it’s about 30% wider than it needs to be, taking up precious frozen food storage space.

The ice cubes stick together and there’s no way to adjust their size. And there’s no cradle for the ice scoop so you’re just supposed to bury it in the ice, but if you don’t bury it deep enough it sticks up too high and jams the freezer door when you try to close it.

The digital display doesn’t show the actual temperature, it only shows what the target temperature is set to. If you want to monitor the actual temperature you have to buy a separate refrigerator thermometer which is pretty unforgivable at this price point.

You have to push too hard on the fridge doors to make them close and people are always accidentally leaving them ajar. No wonder Bosch made a phone app with the only useful function being to tell you that you left the door open.

There are a few good points which is why I reluctantly gave this fridge a second star rating. The climate controlled drawers work well. The temperature uniformity is good. The lighting looks high tech.

But it’s not enough to offset all the frustrations of such a poorly designed product.

I really like this refrigerator with the exception of a few issues. The first and by far biggest issue is that the doors do not always close all the way. This happens most frequently with the door on the right.

There’s an alarm that sounds when this happens but it’s fairly soft, so if you’re not in the same area, you can’t hear it. This means if you walk away the door could be ajar and you wouldn’t know it for hours if you were out of earshot.

The same issue happens with the freezer door. Now that I know this, I double check it but that doesn’t mean I catch it every time it doesn’t close. The other issue I have is the design of the interior produce drawers.

They have clear fronts, which is great for seeing what’s inside, but there’s a slant in the front that goes down to the drawer bottom and catches produce debris etc. It’s difficult to clean and the time it takes lessens the efficiency and ups the poster usage.

The issue somewhat better in the top wide drawer, which is cool. The side door compartments are easy to access for cleaning. I love the look of the refrigerator and the exterior stainless finish is easy to clean.

One thing on delivery. I wasn’t thrilled that the protective plastic covering the front and all sides of the refrigerator were so hard to remove because the handles were installed on top of it. This meant that I had to either take the handles off to get to the pieces of the protective plastic underneath it or I had to work around it.

I chose to work around it because I couldn’t get the handles off by myself. The unit is extremely quiet and the capacity is awesome. Just wish they would have designed all 3 doors to close entirely without an extra push.

I’d spent enough time/money over the past few years trying to keep our KitchenAid French door 29. 2 cubic foot refrigerator running, but finally came to the realization it was time to replace it. We purchased the GFE28GYNFS from our local Lowe’s.

Lowe’s didn’t have it in stock, but had it delivered within two weeks after we ordered it. Out of the box, this refrigerator (at least the stainless steel mode) ships with this protective plastic film over all of the stainless steel surfaces.

This would be a huge deal, but removing this protective film is a real chore as the film is affixed underneath of all of the various doors’ trim. I would up having to use a razor blade to carefully score around each piece of door trim in an effort to cleanly remove this film.

I appreciate they wanted to protect the stainless steel, but this seemed like a complete manufacturing oversight. The manufacturer also used copious amounts of filament tape on both the interior/exterior of the refrigerator, the residue of which was extremely difficult to remove (we never did get remove of all of it.

) Perhaps whoever came up with this idea should be required to unpack/setup one of these units so they can experience the same frustration. As for the refrigerator itself, meh. Quality-wise, I was expecting more, especially considering what we paid for the unit (~$3,000.

) The unit showed up with the doors completely unlevel/square, which I was able to somewhat correct by adjusting the threaded inserts at the bottom of each door. Even after adjusting the doors, they’re still not perfectly aligned.

The upper/lower brackets on the left French door seems almost as if they’re bent, despite there being no other signs of damage to them or the doors. The plastic shell/liner for the freezer that meets the upper left part of the freezer door seal had some sort of adhesive that appears to have leaked out from when they applied the adhesive to the lower seals.

This adhesive residue was so pronounced that it actually caused an air gap in the freezer door seal. I ended up having to use some varying grits of sandpaper to sand the surface flat so the door would seal properly.

Refrigerator has been installed for a few weeks now and I have to say, the ice maker/water dispenser is so-so. Dispenser pushbutton seems very finnicky and doesn’t feel nearly as solid as our previous refrigerator.

If I had to do it again, I’d have gone with the other refrigerator I’d narrowed it down to, which was an LG.

I purchased this unit to replace a Korean made unit that was 7 years old and had become unreliable and was beginning to make an unusual buzzing noise. We decided to buy a new one instead of putting more money into the old one.

The salesman at our local appliance store told me this GE Profile unit, made in Kentucky, is better than the Korean brands or the American brands that are made in China. I had previously sworn-off GE appliances after our GE microwave died within 3 years, but I decided to take the leap on this GE Profile refrigerator in an effort to support the Buy American/Made in America narrative.

Unfortunately, I now have buyer’s remorse and we’re not even a week into owning the appliance. I find it to be noisier than any other refrigerator I’ve ever owned. There is nothing unique about the space where it is located that should make it louder…two other refrigerators have occupied that space and they were not this loud.

There is an incessant buzzing/humming that permeates the house whenever the motor is running. It’s frankly unacceptable for something at this price point and is even louder than the LG which was starting to give out.

From an aesthetic standpoint, it looks nice and the fact that the “stainless steel” front is magnetic is nice for us as we have a child and it is nice to not have to use tape to put things on the door (report cards, etc).

The rest of the design is basically the same as our old one, except on this unit you have to forcefully close the doors whereas on the old one the doors would close on their own. Also, the two smaller drawers inside the refrigerator are too big to open without having both of the French doors open…this is a poor design, in my opinion.

I just cannot believe for what I paid for this refrigerator how much noise it makes, and I would think as time goes on that GE would design them to be quieter, not louder. If you value your peace and quiet at all, I recommend you steer clear of this model.

Either the componentry is of very low quality, or there is some design issue that causes it to be this noisy. It’s really a shame.

Trying to stick with GE appliances but I’m questioning this decision. I needed a refrigerator like right now when my past one without warning quit and couldn’t find a repair person anywhere who wasn’t at least a week to 10 days out.

I figured I’d stick with GE as my kitchen is all GE. Lowes delivered the next day and set it up, so I thought. In and out in a hurry and never unpacked the insides. That’s OK though as I could set up what would work best for us.

We noticed the motor was somewhat loud and figured once cold would quiet down. It took awhile longer than 24 hours to reach temperature (kind of scary) and the motor when it cycles is still somewhat loud (but we know it’s working).

I’ve checked temperature with 2 different thermometers only to find that no matter where I placed in refrigerator they both read 5-6° degrees warmer. The freezer is accurate. As long as I keep the frig at 34° my food stays at 40° which has been adequate.

I guess GE has spoiled me in the past with shelves that pulled out making it easier to get to food farthest back but not now. There is more room now with ice maker on door but unless I purchase lots of organizing containers the room is wasted as without containers to pull out, the only way to get back items is pull everything in front out so I can access.

I don’t think they really thought this out when designing. The last GE which was 20 years older, had an extra storage shelf attached to freezer door which was a great place to store frequently accessed things like frozen juices or such.

This new one has all the hardware where one could’ve been attached but no, they didn’t include. I tried keeping parts off the old frig thinking I could use but nothing fit. What I do really like is that the exterior ice and water unit is larger and easier to fill pitchers and glasses.

The finish on the stainless steel helps a lot with not showing fingerprints. Magnets do stick so this tells me that this is not real stainless steel but a look alike. As a rule magnets will not stick and didn’t on previous model.

The freezer is large and holds a lot of food. I love that it has a second drawer inside for food separation making it so much easier than having to dig like in a chest freezer. Overall, I feel fortunate that I could still buy a new refrigerator at this time that our world is so messed up.

I’m glad that GE is still able to stay in business.

I purchased this sharp looking fridge online so sight unseen but assumed it would be quite similar to the 3 door model in fit and finish. Overall I think it’s a lovely looking refrigerator, it’s not loud and it cooks everything nicely.

Which is why we buy them right? So it does it’s job and stands pretty in the kitchen. Now for the critique after living with it for a month. The stainless steel finish is actually slightly darker in color than my Frigidaire gallery induction range I bought 2 years ago, it would be nice if there was more consistency in finishes.

The handles match exactly, so the line should match too. I do find the display panel extremely hard to read as it glares something fierce and the panel is not a black but more of a slate which seems to make the lack of contrast between the panel and letters/icons even more problematic.

The Interior, while very roomy could use a more adjustable shelf arrangement like I saw in the 3 door. While some people like, I personally am not a fan of the top shelf that slides to create a half shelf.

It feels flimsy to me and not that useful. Also the shelves do “groan” under the weight of a watermelon. But I’m coming from a 22 year tank of a refrigerator so maybe shelves have changed over the years.

Again overall I’m happy with my purchase and would recommend it.

We’ve had it a few weeks now and my positive comments are – More room inside than we expected. Temperature control is good in both the refrigerator and the freezer. The water from the dispenser is cold.

The ice maker is fast. The lighting is good except for my comment on that below. My not so positive comments – It makes more noise than I expected. I assume that its the ice maker but you can hear something running pretty much all the time.

And it’s not just a steady hum. Its a combination of groaning, humming and rattling. If the room is quiet it is almost objectionable but I’m hoping that it’s like living next to train tracks – eventually you don’t hear the trains go by.

Even when the left door is fully open it interferes with removal of the ice bin. You have to force the bin to the right about an 1/8 inch to clear the door. I can’t tell if this is a design error or a manufacturing/assembly error.

Fortunately the bin doesn’t need to come out very often since we use ice every day. Ice is dispensed relatively quickly but a bit erratically. You’ll have to learn to hold your glass in place long enough to catch the last cube or you’ll be chasing it across the floor.

The drawers don’t move all that smoothly. Feels like the drawer hardware could be beefier. The lighting is good except for the top drawer. There’s a light on the underside of the left door that lights up the left side of the drawer when opened but there’s no light on the underside of the right door so the right side of the drawer is in the dark.

This is an annoying and silly omission. Especially since there’s already a blank in the underside of the door where a light could be placed. In fact when we first got the unit I thought the light was malfunctioning since all other areas were so well lit.

The exterior finish is very nice, easy to clean and definitely fingerprint resistant.

I purchased this refrigerator in July of 2019. In February of 2020, the ice maker was no longer making ice. We notified Frigidaire and they authorized service. Eventually the ice maker was serviced twice and a new ice maker was finally installed in August of 2021.

The new ice maker is not making ice. We notified the repair service who stated that they could do nothing because the 1 year warranty is up on the refrigerator even though the part was installed 6 months ago.

I also called Frigidaire and was told by a customer service representative that because the refrigerator was more than a year old, the responsibility to fix the ice maker fell on me. This makes no sense to me as the replacement part was authorized by Frigidaire and installed six months ago.

Because of the COVID environment, the parts took forever to come in and it took forever to get an authorized repair person to install the parts that didn’t work. I would like Frigidaire to make good on this product and authorize and pay for another service contractor and the parts.

Besides the ice maker, the stainless steel outer surface of the appliance is easily dented. This is very disappointing and indicates to me that Frigidaire uses inferior quality material to manufacture their appliances.

This refrigerator cost $2069. 00 and I expected it to look and operate as it did on the day it was delivered.

The left door shuts too hard and fast on its own— you have to hold it (pulling back on it) as it closes to help soften the close and prevent anything from breaking. The right door does not close on its own— you have to hold it and push it forward so that it will close.

The refrigerator is level from side to side. Both doors are aligned, though the left door cannot go any lower and the right door cannot go any higher (if different, future adjustments are ever needed).

The refrigerator leans back quite a bit. The leveling feet located at the front of the unit are not engaged with the floor (which is level). If they were to be interacting with the floor the unit would be leaning back even further.

This would cause the left door to shut even harder and faster than it does currently. If the unit is tilted more to the front, that would cause the right door to close even less than it does currently.

The left door hinge area does not have the white, plastic piece that the right door hinge area does. Perhaps this is missing? All inside drawers have handles on the bottom as opposed to the top. This is especially problematic for the lower drawers (in the freezer) as it forces you to bend over even further to be able to reach the handles.

The clear bottom drawer in the refrigerator spans the entire width of the refrigerator instead of being two separate drawers. This is problematic because you have to open both doors to be able to pull open the drawer just to get a stick of butter.

Door shelves cannot be adjusted. Did not include egg holder.

Real reveiw-not a promotion or fake. I really dislike this fridge. While it functions as it should so far the layout leaves a lot to be desired. The door bins are huge and and deep – your stuff will clang around and swim and you will have to angle taller bottles to get them out due to the other bins interfering.

The shelf heights are low. You will barely fit a water jug and a 2L pop. Compared to regular depth you will really have to think and prioritize what you want to have refrigerated. If you like fresh vegetables-avoid this fridge.

The crispers are small and shallow. You will NOT fit a head of lettuce, full cauliflower and a few crowns of broccoli for example. So if you like frequent trips to the grocers due it might be okay. Or if you plan and organize your meals and know exactly what you will be using for example.

Regarding space saving in your kitchen- it’s minimal. About 4 inches. Who cares. What are you going to do with 4″ x 35 ” extra space? I find the bright bright stainless steel to be an eyesore. It screams for attention.

The quality is subpar for the plastic and it jangles, gets caught up and wiggles around a lot and feels flimsy. My old fridge was thicker and more sturdy plastic with better guides and rollers. Oh well- too late now.

Listen to your instincts and get a regular depth. Avoid this trend and note the positive review are “part of a promotion”.

Reviewed a lot of products in this category of feature/price. Reviews were positive. And we narrowed it down and finally chose this model. We’ve had it 4 weeks. First of all, it works perfectly. Temperates are steady as a rock.

We’ve been used to a 42″ side-by-side and the layout of the French doors is absolutely wonderful. I wish the freezer section was a bit larger but I’d rather the refrigerator section be larger so you have to make trade-offs in this size (plus we have counter depth).

It’s well lit, I know that’s simple but there were some brands were this wasn’t the case, surprisingly. As with any appliance, there are trade-offs but overall, we’re happy. Perhaps the only recommendations is the veggie drawers and large width center drawer could be a little more ‘hefty’ feeling, these feel just a little to light and flimsy.

But don’t mistake that word for not good, but LG could beef up those parts and it would make a big difference in the feel, that would be the main difference between 4 starts and 5 – but again, in the category and for the price – 5 Stars.

I like this fridge a lot except for a one design flaw. First, the look is beautiful and modern. It is quite roomy for a counter depth fridge. No issues storing a gallon container in the doors. I love that the handles are recessed so the side profile is flat and clean.

The ice maker has been working consistently with no issues in quantity or quality. Ice cubes are 1″ cubes that fit nicely into any reusable wide mouth water bottle. Comes with ice scoop – nice touch! Adjustable shelves in fridge and on doors gives lots of storage flexibility.

Pull out freezer door has an adjustable divider and a bonus top drawer that does not extend unless you pull it which is actually a good thing. In between the French doors and the bottom freezer drawer, there is an adjustable temperature controlled pull-out divided drawer that is very convenient – you don’t have to open the French doors to get to it.

I’ve been using the included ethylene absorber unit which is helping to keep fruits and veges fresh – another nice touch! Of course, you have to order replacement cartridges from Bosch and they are having a supply chain issue right now.

The water dispenser is on the inside and there is NO ice dispenser which may be a deal breaker for some but I love it because it gives the sleek clean profile I was looking for. The only design flaw in my opinion is the single bin drawer behind the French doors which runs the whole width of the fridge.

It is inconvenient to have to open both French doors to get to this drawer. For me, I would have preferred two single drawers so I would only have to open one of the French doors to get to one or the other of those drawers.

Also, the drawer sticks all the time. I thought it was off the track or maybe defective so I had a Bosch technician come to the house (within the warranty period at no charge). He double checked the drawer and said that it was not defective and it was properly installed.

He noted that there have been complaints about it and he understood my frustration but the drawer did not need to be replaced. I’m ok with that if it is the only thing I don’t particularly like about this otherwise wonderful fridge which I hope to have for many years to come! I don’t use a lot of the control panel features so I can’t comment on their functionality.

I haven’t yet had to replace the carbon filter which I will order from Bosch when I need to. I did purchase the Bosch stainless cleaner which works very well.

Buying the Bosch 800 Series French Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator (B36CL80SNS) was perhaps the best appliance-buying decision we have made. Having suffered with the erratic/poor performance of another brand for 14+ years, we feel like we have died and gone to heaven with our Bosch refrigerator.

Admittedly our 28CF boat anchor fridge that the Bosch replaced was bigger than our new refrigerator, which we thought might be a detriment. However, what we have found is that food is so much easier to keep track of that we never have “lost” any food with our new fridge.

It keeps everything so fresh. We are amazed at how long all our food items last, particularly lettuce, other veggies, and all our fruit. It literally is weeks (up to 3 weeks plus for lettuce!) now versus our old retention period of just several days.

You can easily adjust the temp for this extra drawer to meet your personal needs for whatever you want to store there (drinks, produce, miscellaneous food, meat, etc. ). Plus the inside the refrigerator has plenty of space to for storing our fresh meat or dairy items.

We love that all the shelves are adjustable and that there is a nice extra little shelf that nestles our eggs very safely. The shelves on both upper doors hold a huge amount of bottles, jars, and milk cartons so we don’t have to have so much of these items stuffed around on the shelves inside the fridge.

The icemaker is a dream! Our old fridge made perhaps two dozen ice cubes per day. We always had to buy ice if we were entertaining. The Bosch makes so much ice that we can’t keep up with using it all! What a lovely problem to have! And the icing on the cake is that it is super quiet when it dispenses ice into the freezer container.

Our old fridge had water and ice on the outside of the door and left a mess of splashed water and “spit out” ice all over the floor and front of the fridge when we used it. With the Bosch providing water from a spigot inside the door, the outside of the fridge (and the inside dispenser area) is always clean with no water spots.

The inside water dispenses with no splash, tastes great, and is good and cold, all of which we love. The freezer has two extra rather flat drawers inside of the big drawer. One of these houses the container into which the ice is dispensed but there is also extra room in that drawer for other freezer items as well.

Admittedly, the freezer does not hold as much as our old boat anchor did but it is easier to find what we need inside the drawer (much more preferable to digging around in the drawer as we had to do with our old fridge).

It helps us to keep freezer food better organized with a smaller space to use. Since we have a separate upright freezer in our utility room, this was not an issue for us. The light inside the Bosch 800 Series French Door Refrigerator is bright and again just makes it so much easier to find food items inside the unit.

Even the outside of the refrigerator is easier to keep clean than our old fridge was. A simple wipe with a damp cloth usually takes off any smudges or finger prints that may be residual from using the doors.

The fact that this is a true counter-depth refrigerator with trim lines is another plus that gives us extra room in our kitchen, too. The only “con” thing that we have wondered about is that there is a bit of condensation inside the drawer that we are using for our fruits and veggies.

It is not a big issue but we have wondered if there is a way to correct that (we haven’t taken the time to pursue this with Bosch but will do so soon). We did not actually get to see this particular Bosch model as local stores did not have it in stock.

We ordered from Lowe’s online and just went on faith, the Bosch reputation, and the many positive reviews that we read online for this model. We are so glad we did so because the Bosch 800 Series French Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator has definitely met our expectations and more.

Purchasing this refrigerator was a bit of an investment (although it was on sale) but well worth the money we spent. Thank you, Bosch, for designing and maufacturing such a quality product!.

Love my new fridge – reviewing after 1 month of ownership to be sure of my opinion! Modern appearance may not appeal to everyone but not having handles stick out is a cleaner look. Shows fingerprints easily but those are quickly removed with a wipe with by microfibre cloth.

Just be careful closing the door with an elbow as the indents can do a nice number on your funny bone if you jam it in there. I love the interior with the stainless back, well organized shelves/drawers/bins and boutique lighting – makes my condiments look like they are displayed in a high end jewellery store.

The air flow and temperature control is excellent with stuff in the doors at a good temperature. Even though we ‘lost’ 3 cubic feet, everything fits and is easily accessible. The clear door bins are generously sized and usable.

The Fresh drawer is great for seeing everything in one go from above without opening a door and then a drawer – just have to remember that my veggies/fruit are in this separate area. The fresh filter and the fridge seem to be keeping the produce fresh longer (e.

g. cilantro, green onions, lettuce are lasting longer). Everything is very well organized including the freezer which has 3 layers of drawers – helping you to find things quickly. We’ve organized it so the shallow one has our frozen fruit and smoothie prep, the second is for ice and small containers of frozen herbs, spice pastes, zests and the deeper 2-compartments is for meat, veggies and bulkier items.

I would highly recommend this fridge – who knew we could be wowed by this appliance. We haven’t hooked up the water/ice yet but are considering it. I don’t find the website very friendly to figure out finding a ‘bypass’ filter for this unit (only available on US site?) as many items are just marked as Accessory for Cooling.

I bought this refrigerator primarily because the house we purchased had all GE Cafe series appliances in the kitchen, except the fridge. Upon upgrading the countertops I decided to get a matching Cafe series refrigerator and it looks fantastic.

Did not spend much time looking at specs or reviews, I just know the GE cafe series appliances and very strong, bullet roof in fact, from my years in the construction industry. But in fact the fridge is exceptionally well laid out making it very easy to place and retrieve all your stuff.

Cooling is first class, no humidity, products stay cool and dry. One item in particular that caught my eye was the Keurig coffee dispenser. Never really been a fan of Keurig, just think it creates a huge amount of plastic waste but my wife likes it so I thought why not.

Well let me tell you this device has given me a huge amount of frustration and I have finally figured out the cause. On numerous occasions the device does not work, an error message kept coming up directing you to call a number at GE for service.

This is a joke because the person who answers this number has no idea why you are calling them. Anyways, like I said I finally figured the issue out and it made me feel rather stupid. You have to use Keurig coffee pods and not any other name brand that are supposed to fit a Keurig system.

The only difference I can see is the tops on the Keurig pods are thin aluminum foil, the other name brands tend to have a plastic material. Otherwise they are identical. Why or how the device in this refrigerator recognizes the difference is beyond me.

But it does, and they do not work. Again, I am no expert on Keurigs so maybe this happens on their own standalone machines but if you happen to read this and you are having a similar problem we’ll now you know.

He name brand pods are supposed to work in a Keurig machine, at east they claim they will, but not in this one. Frustrating. Otherwise a fantastic refrigerator and this issue royally has nothing to do with GE.

Nowhere on this page does it mention that GE has replaced their previous RPFW filter with a new electronic RPFWE filter that costs $50 instead of $25 (or $15 if you know which South American river to navigate).

The d RPFW filter WILL NOT work in this fridge despite them having the exact same dimensions, attachment nozzle, and brackets. Why won’t they work? Well, instead of just touching a “DID YOU REPLACE THE FILTER” button to reset the 6 month reminder, GE decided to put a new RFID chip sticker (glued on) to the new RPFWE filter that does 2 things.

First, it automatically resets the timer. Second, it will prevent the water dispenser from working if you use a RPFW filter (even though it physically fits) or a 3rd party RPFW filter. There is no technical reason to require this.

RFID chips cost a nickel, and less than a penny for a manufacturer (I work for a company that uses RFID in our products to track them in the warehouse and they’re a penny) but GE doubled their price from $25 to $50.

To be absolutely crystal clear, the chip has no function other than to lock you in to their absurdly priced filter. It doesn’t assist the fridge to determine if the filter is full. It doesn’t measure water quality.

It is not used to ensure the filter is installed correctly. It is there to handicap your product and ensure that you are paying GE $100 a year until your fridge dies. This is like Keurig’s new capsules that don’t let you refill your own and printer ink cartridges.

This should be illegal. Fun fact, you can bypass this by very carefully peeling the sticker off of the included filter and then taping it to a new 3rd party RPFW filter, and it will work, but there is not a way to reset the filter reminder and so there will be an angry red warning on the screen until the end of time.

Otherwise, we really like the fridge.

The matte white finish with bronze handles is really one of a kind and is a great look. The ice in the door saves room in the fridge but realize it has a smaller capacity so you will have to make ice separately if you are entertaining.

The matching matte white side panels fit “ok”. They interfere a little with the door gasket and a screw at the bottom. Otherwise pretty easy to install- they just stick to the sides, you will need a star drive or ratchet set.

The inside is all white (not grey like the more expensive 4- door model), really nicely lit and well organized. Some of the door shelves have rubber mattress and some don’t. The butter compartment door doesn’t stay open.

The plastic partitions in the freezer and deli are kinda flimsy. The doors don’t open wide enough to be able to pull out the produce or deli drawers without removing a shelf on the door. The doors also don’t close on their own, you have to push them a little to shut.

The door alarm chime is able to be turned off via the touch screen controls which is nice IMO. The hot water dispenser is a nice feature for tea drinkers. Realize it isnt instant hot water, you have to wait about 1 minute or so for it to be ready.

It then dispenses 10 oz (1 mug) at a time. You can then get a few refills out of it until it has to heat back up again. There are also several pre-set temperature settings plus a custom set. My only disappointment about this fridge is the noise of the fan whirling and the compressor buzzing.

There’s nothing wrong with the fridge, it’s just loud – sounds like a commercial cooler even from the bedrooms of my open format house – especially in my small kitchen where the sides of the fridge are exposed.

I haven’t figured out how to deaden the sound of it yet but most of the noise is coming from the back of the unit.

I wanted to like this $3000 refrigerator, but after several weeks with it, there are some serious design issues. First, the shelves in the doors have very short walls (2-3″), so it’s not great to put tall items in them.

Second, the glass shelves have decorative metal trim on the front of them, but the corners of this trim are VERY SHARP – I scratched my arm when I was reaching in, and I’m sure you could cut yourself if you’re not careful.

The technicians who have worked on this fridge both told us we should always open the left door first and close the right door first. This is not noted in the manual, but they said the door seals can wear out if you open the right door first or close the left toor first a lot.

This is very inconvenient, because the ice maker takes up most of the left side, so if you open the left door only, you don’t have a lot of room there. You reallly need to open the right side to get to the majority of your storage, which means you often have to open both doors.

Lastly, there is no meat/cheese drawer or egg storage. There is a very wide, shallow drawer in the bottom of the fridge, but you have to open both doors to use it since it spans the whole width. VERY POOR DESIGN! That drawer is just wasted space since we leave it empty for that reason.

The ice maker often leaks water when you switch from water to ice and vice-versa. I sometimes see the ice maker dripping when I open the left door as well. The water stream is angled backwards quite a bit, so you have to get used to that.

All three doors of our new refrigerator were dented when it was delivered. We had the French doors replaced and left the drawer as-is because it wasn’t as bad. The second right-hand door was also dented, so we ended up getting a third one! Either the factory is denting them or else they aren’t packinging them very well for shipping.

Other than all of the above, this fridge works OK and is fairly quiet. It looks nice, too, so I guess that’s a plus. Overall, I would not buy this again – I would have paid more attention to the interior design when I was in the store.

I love the in-door ice dispenser, I use it many times each day. I love the deep shelves in the other french door to hold two gallon bottles at once and that fit both milk and tea bottles. The milk and tea are also kept fairly cold on that self, unlike a fridge by a different manufacturer that I had to send back because the milk was staying at 46F (8C) and would go bad to quickly.

The in-door ice dispenser is supplied by an in-door ice maker. All other refrigerators I have seen with in-door ice dispensers have the ice maker taking one or two shelves of refrigerator space and feeding out through the door and tend to have problems with ice jams or door not closing.

This unit has a mini-flat-pack ice maker in the door itself that combines ice making, ice dispensing and ice crushing all in one. That pretty much eliminates problems with lining up the auger shaft with the drive motor in the door, jams in the auger, jams in the door, ice getting stuck so the door can’t close.

And seems to have reduced the amount of fridge space lost due to the ice maker. I am iffy about the ‘art craft’ ice made by the main ice maker. They are bigger, round balls of very clear ice with a flat spot on one side and a depression on the other.

Looks like the Death Star in ice sculpture. To get the clear ice they must be made slowly and you only get 3 (very clear) or 6 (pretty clear) ice balls a day. To make up for that slow delivery rate, they are much bigger and much colder than the door dispenser ice.

I am not happy with the noise. It is faint and only occasional, but when the fridge door ice maker checks it’s ice level or pops out a fresh set of ice cubes you can hear the little motor and gears clear across the room.

Others have said that they get used to it and don’t notice any more but I haven’t gotten there yet. Why not use pneumatic actuators instead of servo motors? You already have a completely silent scroll compressor in the refrigerant section, and probably a smaller one in the door ice unit.

Why not an even tinier one in the door to produce compressed to store in a bottle stuffed in a corner so that you can use small plastic air-cylinders instead of small, whiny geared electric motors to check for ice bucket full or push finished ice cubes into the bucket? I realize it might make a slight increase in manufacturing expense, but surely you can make that up in advertising how much more silent yours is compared to all the others? So the worst thing I can find about it is that you can actually hear it operating.

The rest is pretty nice.

I really like that this fridge is counter depth yet has a solid amount of cubic feet. Seems like most counter depth really cuts down on interior space. The look is very nice and the ice maker in the door keeps up better than I thought it would.

I go through a lot of ice! The “craft” ice is a nice feature. I don’t drink much alcohol which seems like that’s the purpose but I have to say these ice balls fit nicely into my various water bottles and because of the shape, they keep my water or soft drinks colder longer than typical ice.

Why I didn’t give 5-stars is for two reasons, you can’t change the craft ice to regular ice. So far I thought that would annoy me more than it does. Just be warned, I didn’t know that until after installation.

Second reason is for the door compartment design. Seems like the things I pick up at the grocery store just never seems to fit right. The really large bins in one side must be for gallon milk-type jugs.

I don’t buy anything that size and would like to see an option to add dividers or something so things like condiments can be place securely. If you don’t use up all the space, everything just tips over when you open the door so I have to put all those items in the main shelf area wasting so much space.

Overall, this is a solid upgrade and nice add to my kitchen remodel.

We’ve had this fridge for about four months now and I wanted to wait a while before giving a review. It is replacing a side-by-side that came with our property that I absolutely hated. there was never enough room in the refrigerator.

the wall down the middle of a side-by-side side takes up so much width. We also needed to have the counter depth. This new LG is bright and beautiful to look at when you open the doors you can see everything.

we love the deep vegetable drawers. We also love the large drawer where we put deli meats, cheese, cold cuts and I also like to keep yogurts in there. There is adequate freezer space. A few caveats…In the flat slim freezer drawer be sure to only put flat items that do not exceed the height.

Otherwise it will bit slide in completely and you may find that this will mess up the circulation of frozen air and ice-maker. We love the craft ice for making a cocktail. The ice and water upper dispenser also great.

What occasion in the upper icemaker cubes can get stuck in the pitcher that holds them. Especially when it is warmer and more humid in the house that seems to happen. You just need to open the compartment and shake the ice around a bit and that should alleviate the issue.

Overall very pleased. As with any appliance that you purchase, be sure to read the entire manual and instructions and follow them carefully. I see so many complaints from people because they did not read the booklet and instructions.

A mixed review: Have designed into a number of homes LG counter-depths. This is the first 2-drawer. You do loose a little space doing this and the lower drawer does not have a light. Therefore, this model becomes a personal preference thing.

The inside fridge water dispenser is brilliant and solves some of the issues prevalent in many “in-door ice makers/water dispensers”. We find they are the most troublesome and should be avoided. Today, we experienced a new twist: when using the leveler feet located at the front of the fridge, the wheels sitting directly behind them DO NOT move up & down in conjunction with the feet and, in fact, cannot be moved in height at all.

This is a design flaw because levelers are used to not only help front-to-back, but also leveling the fridge left-to-right. In the later situation, lifting up one side, removes the corresponding roller from the floor.

Thus when moving the refrigerator to clean underneath or vacuum the backside, you will be dragging the fridge and bending or weakening the leveler leg. Plus the dragging is extremely difficult. For refrigerators placed into a cabinet “box”, this is a difficult task.

When does this happen? In this case we were replacing a fridge into an existing cabinet area; over time the lovely tile floor had settled slightly so that the front leveler legs needed to do the adjusting to compensate over the 36″ width.

One would think that such a small difference wouldn’t turn into such a big thing, however it changes the functions of the wheels just enough that their purpose is rendered null. The solution is simple: make wheels that adjust with the legs.

I have gone thru many depts at LG as well as talented installers and the work-arounds are non-existent, insufficient and expensive. In addition to needing to move a fridge for cleaning, one may need to move it to service the water or electrical connections.

LG should not design with a view toward only customers doing new construction; they must look at customers replacing old appliances. In our situation, we replaced 4 floor-sitting appliances and the LG fridge is the only one that gave me this problem.

The gradual floor slope exists over approximately 20 feet and affects the entire kitchen. At this price-point, time for LG to step-up and correct this flaw in their design or provide a replacement part that will accomplish the same.

This refrigerator has so far exceeded my expectations. I bought it without having access to a floor model to check out at the local Best Buy store (or any other local big box store), so relied mostly on pictures and reviews on line.

We replaced a bigger, deeper fridge (that broke) with this one, and don’t miss the extra space since the storage space in this one is very well thought out. I had read some reviews that the freezer drawers might accumulate frost on the sides, but that has not happened with ours.

The Geek Squad technician who delivered and installed it suggested that pulling the freezer drawers all the way out when opening them might alleviate that reported issue. Personally, I like that this model has the filtered water inside the fridge and the ice maker empties into the freezer drawer, as the exterior doors stay cleaner and the ice maker does not get jammed like our old one did, where both functions were accessible on the outside door.

We live in a hot, arid climate and use a lot of ice every day, and the ice maker makes enough ice cubes that we don’t run out. The doors hold plenty on the inside, including gallon jugs of milk or tea.

I also like the ability to put small magnets on the front of the fridge, so my timers with magnetic strips are there and don’t get lost. The crew that installed the refrigerator was on time, polite, and very knowledgeable.

We are happy customers!.

Over the past twelve years we have replaced our refrigerator three times, but this one will be around for awhile, we believe. We purchased our LG fridge after reading so many positive reviews and upon recommendation by our son.

We feel very spoiled having the Door-in-Door that holds our salad dressings, special packets of spices and other small condiment containers. However, what a great place for all those little oddly shaped bottles that just fit there without the clutter within the fridge.

Plus, open just this smaller door and never worry about all the cool air escaping. I hardly think of it being an “extra” as it has become almost necessary! Many times while entertaining at mealtime I wished for an additional ice maker.

This refrigerator not only has two, but the bottom ice maker makes “craft” ice! Whoever thought craft ice was a necessity? We do, now. Those heavy little round balls are just perfect for keeping iced tea cold on hot summer days while doing yard work and they seem to last forever without melting.

Our grandson thinks he has to have his water bottle for school filled with the craft ice. Need more craft ice, hold the freezer button down and choose from either 3 or 6 craft balls to be made. All the “normal” requirements for a fridge are present, too.

The capacity of the fridge is sure to please anyone who cooks as much as we do. Everything is visible so there is never the stress of losing items and allowing them to go bad. The freezer is equipped with three sliding shelves and is perfect for keeping packets of fish separate from veggies and other meats.

Yet again, things are easily found. Need to fill a thermos or Yeti cup? Choose from 4ozs, 8ozs, 16ozs or 32ozs. The water stops automatically depending on your choice. very handy to adding water to a recipe.

Are you a techie? Simple instructions are included to get this treasure online. These are just a few of the reasons we chose this LG refrigerator and also the reasons we will choose another if need be.

We truly do appreciate the technology behind this great tool. The different functions and the dependability of LG technology makes running a household much easier.

Love the look, counter depth, interior space, led lighting, quiet, efficient ice maker–all positives. The learning curve in storing food, especially in the freezer, has taken time. This French door replaced a large side by side so have struggled a bit.

The shelves are reasonably adjustable but still working on figuring some of that out. Here are the issues: the door shelves that wrap around the water/ice dispenser are virtually useless. Control by an app? Why? Does anyone make frequent changes to the fridge temp? Useless.

Finally, and most important, I did not realize that the filter could not be replaced without shutting off the water. Pull the unit out, push back in to open the door and change the filter, pull the unit out and turn on the water, push the unit back in.

The 16 year old unit I replaced did not require that. a huge disappointment.

the overall aesthetic of the fridge is great. i love that i can open the right and left produce drawers without having to open both fridge doors. the freezer is phenomenal!!! so much space. unfortunately, the icemaker is such a waste of space.

the shelving on the left door is laughable (great for us white claw lovers, but not a whole lot more). whenever i close the left door while the right is still shut, the part in the middle slams against the door, and i have to manually push it back into place to properly shut the door.

the twin cooling plus thing in the back occasionally makes a pop and sizzle sound, followed by an unsettling burning smell – not sure what that’s about. i could have received a dud, but unfortunately, will be exchanging for something else.

This is our first French door refrigerator, truth is we chose it because it was the only one available in a few days (supply chain) The Pros: opening the two doors it great, makes it easier to find things, and creates a lot of usable space.

Ice maker is sealed inside the refrigerator and seems to work well. The full width deli drawer is nice though a little shallow two half drawers above. Like the drawer freezer Cons: There is no egg shelf or storage, because of the ice dispenser in the door, shelves on the upper left door are very small, and because the ice maker is sealed, you can only access ice through the door dispenser, which is slow, Finally, there is no tray to catch drips on the door below ice/water dispenser, my wife bought a small sponge/pad the fits in it.

Overall, the problems are annoying but not serious, we are very pleased. Hope it’s more dependable than GE!.

It looks nice, and it has great storage space inside, especially in the doors. I expected it to be quieter, silent actually, but I can hear the motor humming when I walk into the kitchen. The location and operation of the water spout inside the cabinet is awkward to use.

The model I saw in the store did not have the water spout, and I was told by the salesman that the model I order was exactly the same as the one I saw plus the water feature, so I was shopping a little blind.

I assumed that the water dispenser would have a button to press the glass against to turn on the water with one hand, but I have to use two hands, and the location of the spout against the side wall makes it awkward to use, and the spout is angled down so close to the wall that it’s hard to fit a thick-walled glass or pitcher under the spout.

My 13-year-old Whirlpool fridge had the spout in the top surface of the cabinet with a shelf below it to rest a pitcher or water bottle on, so it was much handier to use. I assumed a new model would be at least as convenient.

Wrong! The wide bottom veggie/deli drawer slides a bit roughly. The ice cubes in the ice maker often stick two or three together; they’re easy to separate, but I’m not sure if they should come out in pairs or trios.

These are all little defects that I can live with, but I’m surprised to find them in a brand new $3000 refrigerator. Another than this, I am delighted. If I outlive this fridge, I suspect I will shop for a different brand next time.

I’ve read most of the reviews and complaints about similar GE fridges and I consider them outliers or owners not reading the manual. – Is it noisy? Maybe when compared to other makers. My measurements show <45dB when the compressor is on (23min) but it throttles back to a low hum (fan?.

another 11min) and obviously it’s dead quiet when it turns “off” (25min of silence). Still quieter than your low noise dishwashers. Maybe as noisy as my old 20+yr GE Profile side-by-side. – No problems reaching set point temp.

Using an instant read digital meat thermometer, I saw <1degf from factory set points of 0f (freezer) and 37f (fridge: w>

Door storage temp was ~ 40F (as expected). – No issues with black ice or water dispense IF YOU FLUSH THE LINE. Ice maker “clunks” ice when it’s empty, but hardly noticeable when partially full. – Aesthetics? Love the counter depth (delivery team did not have to take the doors off!); slate finish = no fingerprints; LED lighting lets me see without warming the interior space; water dispense is internal (doesn’t compromise fridge space for ice maker) or put a hole in the fridge door (less complicated; more energy efficient).

– Complaints? The RFID chip in the water filter at more than double the price? Outrageous. almost didn’t buy the fridge based on that alone. The waterline inlet connector on the fridge was obstructed by framing sheet metal (needed to hammer the frame to make enough clearance to attach waterline hose).

Freezer door could have an “open door” alarm as well. Wish I could post updated reviews as the product ages. Hoping it lasts another 20 years.

Even with only counter depth — a great feature — this is a BIG refrigerator, and it holds a lot! It also holds a great variety of items in both the upper refrigerator section and the lower freezer. The shallower depth makes everyone more easily seeable and reachable, and it’s all well lighted by the LED’s.

The interior of the upper section is especially flexible to accommodate items of all shapes and sizes. The cold water dispenser inside works well, although a bit slowly — about 1 liquid ounce per second.

The ice maker in the freezer is easy to access on the top shelf, quiet, and efficient. We appreciate the clean lines of the outside, with no openings or dispensers and fingerprint resistant stainless steel that is easy to clean and to keep clean.

The controls are right on the upper door edge for easy view and changing, showing the actual and set temps for both sections. And it has an alarm that sounds if the doors are completely closed. We haven’t had it long, but we love it!.

First impressions only at this time – just set up the 30” unit yesterday. In a hole when the GE Profile (2006) French Door style finally had to be retired and stock availability on new was limiting choices.

Purchased sight unseen… Build quality is dubious and the QA from Whirlpool has to get better. There are issues with where the stainless meets the trims with some adhesives on show. A big issue when comparing this stainless steel to GE – it marks up very easily and doesn’t clean up well.

The door alignment process (details included in the instructions) was followed but not easy for the average Jo and results not what I had expected. Many gizmos inside but the limited door opening makes the removal of this internal shelves a test of patience! A number of the plastic moulded parts had production flashes not cleaned up well and many scratches left behind, so production technique amateurish.

One drawer doesn’t retract as fully as it was designed to do. (See other reviews which mention the same points) Not running the ice making so one less thing to be concerned with. The styling is rather angular and door handles simple and not anywhere near as appealing as the GE Profile it replaces.

No doubt product builds for manufacturers have been simplified as the years pass but we are headed in the wrong direction. Four stars is generous but we haven’t run it long enough to comment on performance at this time.

Just needed to express the concerns above and to say this is too many dollars for what we see standing on the floor!.

This is a review for the KitchenAid French Door 20 cubic capacity fridge. We’ve had our KitchenAid French door for almost 3 weeks, and I can’t imagine how we ever lived without it. The KitchenAid is a beautifully built and designed fridge that feels much larger.

This is in part because of smart design that works with your changing food storage needs to accommodate whatever you need to keep chilled. The doors have deep, adjustable drawers that easily hold a gallon of milk and other items.

The French door design with its long sturdy handles makes grabbing favorite food items easy, especially for younger members of your household- and an open door alarm alerts you when the door(s) aren’t fully closed.

The interior has been designed so that you can see/ access items easily while allowing maximum airflow to keep food at the correct temperature. The high end materials and glass shelving are aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean.

The bottle rack makes smart use of lateral storage space Other benefits are the deep bottom freezer double pull-out draws with ergonomic top down loading that allows you to access and see what is in the back and bottom of the freezer, a pull-out meat and cheese draw right at little kid level (perfect for snacks), a more shallow cabinet profile so the fridge takes up less floor space, filtered water and ice makers and automatic controls for temperature regulation.

We have been extremely pleased so far with this fridge. It works beautifully in our small footprint 1920’s kitchen.

We purchased several other Kithchenaid appliances over the duration of a year to replace 16 year old appliances that were still in working order. We wanted an update to stainless so we picked the same mfg and donated the older appliances to Habitat for Humanity Restore.

We have and issues with each appliance but most recently this refrigerator. I noticed the door gaskets are starting to split after 5 years of use. Not even heavy use since the kids have been out of the house for years and there are only two of us.

I called Kitchenaid and the part is not covered. As I explain to two people, one was a supervisor, it has to be a defective part since the use did not justify the failure. Under no circumstances would they replace or send a replacement part that would be covered as a defect.

In addition to this design flaw the shelves to not extend to the back of the refrigerator thus allowing objects to fall from the back of the shelves. We are not talking about small items, full size cans and bottles fit in the space.

The dishwasher do not fit the capacity as advertised and the cooktop allows the pots and pans to extend over the dials causing a safety issue. I could go on with other items but you need to know these and not well designed products and you should expect issues within 5 years and expect no support.

We relly like the layout, both the freezer and the fridge itself. Well laid out, modern, slick looking interior. this is what got us hooked. Kudos! The product does not have the latest and fanciest features, such as wifi and a separate outside access configurable drawer.

So it is a bit cheaper than the typical french door product. Thosde features are kind of useless IMO anyway. We havent even checked reliability and repair ratings after looking at the product. In retrospect, we probably should have, given the poor ratings.

Our sales people warned us off of Samsung, as having horrible reliability and customer support. In retrospect, Frigidaire is not much better, based on the reviews I see. There are a few annoying imperfections: 1) The door self-closing feature does not really work.

The left hand side does not self-close at all. The right side “sort of” does. The cabinet is not very rigid, so given an uneven floor (common) the door openings distort, and then the 2 doors are impossible to correctly line up.

There is just not enough adjustment available in the door mount. We ended up had to shim the right back leg (wheel) to make the doors line up. Took a shim of almost 1/2″. There is no info or advice in the manual or on the support side of the web site to explain the need and how to of shimming the back wheel(s).

If you look at the reviews, there is a number of them that complain about the doors not lining up. This is the root cause and solution. Possible improvements: -Both the ice/water switch and the light for the ice dispenser shoudl revbert to default settings after onot beingt used for a while.

Like, after 10 seconds, turn off the light and reset to dispensing water. The dispense point of the ice is different from the water. If you put a narrow mouthed bottle or glass under the spigot, and “accidentally” dispense ice, the ice typically ends up all over the floor.

I would prefer the ice dispensing always requiring a deliberate choice, instead of the last person leaving the dispenser in “ice” mode, and me having to hunt for pieces of ice scattered all over the floor.

-The default temperature settings ended up freezing things on the refrigerator side. I had to throw out some eggs and pickles that froze through. The door handle finish is inferior to the front stainless finish.

The handles are not “fingerprint free”. -The protective plastic wrap is captured under the various trim pieces, so it is a pain in the butt to remove. They should put that on last, not before putting on the trim pieces.

-My overall impression, esp. compared to a German product, with their typical fanatical attention to detail, is a bit of sloppiness in the design and execution. The people who designed and put this together were apparently following a “good enough” philosophy instead of getting every little detail just right.

The product has potential, but needs a bit of redesign, and needs to be made just a bit better to delight the end user. Given frigidaire’s poor reliability reputation, tightening up the design and assembly quality seems to me the best way forward for this brand.

My LG counter depth refrigerator was installed about a month ago. I wanted this smaller size because my kitchen is very small. I am very happy that it doesn’t stick out as much as my old refrigerator did although in the beginning I was concerned that it didn’t have as many drawers as my previous standard size refrigerator.

I wasn’t sure where to put my meat, but I bought a plastic, food storage container made specifically for refrigerators and it holds almost all of the meat I buy except for meat that come in large packages.

The fruit and vegetable drawers are more than adequate because I usually only have to store enough food for two people. The humidity control seems like a good idea. The size works for us, but my daughter, who also has a counter depth LG refrigerator but has a family of three, says that at times she wishes that hers had more room.

I like being able to get ice from the left side door as well as from the frozen food compartment on the bottom. I find it a little challenging to place my frozen food in this compartment so that I can see what I have at a glance, but because I only buy food for two people, it isn’t a big negative.

I like that some of the shelves in the refrigerator are adjustable to accommodate taller items. I enjoy having the smaller door in the right hand door for things we use often. I like that I can turn the light on by tapping the window to see what’s in it without having to open it.

It took me awhile to figure out that the top shelf is a perfect fit for soda cans and I didn’t even notice for quite sometime that there is a small section on the bottom that is ideal for small containers that tend to get lost in a refrigerator.

The preset temperature in the refrigerator and the frozen food compartment seem perfect. I am very pleased with our purchase.

We ordered the refrigerator in June 2021 and it was finally delivered in August. The design on the inside is very clean, has good temperature control and we love the convenience of the InstaView door.

However there were a few things that we did not like about the fridge. The ice from the ice maker has a weird ‘moldy’ taste. We had just replaced our previous refrigerator of about 6 years and not once did we have an issue with the taste of the ice.

Secondly, the right door and the freezer door would automatically close when opened. Generally not a big deal but imagine moving something large and having to beat the door before it automatically closes on you.

We do not have this issue with the left door and it works as expected. Lastly, the shelves have a notch or indentation that locks into the adjacent shelf, however it is fairly difficult to do without removing all items on the shelves.

It’s not a big of a deal but it is just inconvenient. We did contact LG regarding the ice and door issues. Initially, they had us try some trouble shooting steps (https://www. lg. com/us/support/help-library/water-or-ice-tastessmells-bad-CT00023125-1337887827042), which did not work.

A technician then came out and explained to us that issue surrounding the weird taste for the ice is attributed to the Freon used. The technician explained that LG considers the ice maker a ‘luxury’ item so there is nothing they would/could do to fix the issue.

The technician also explained to us that the right and freezer door was automatically closing because the refrigerator wasn’t leveled correctly, even though the installers checked the leveling 3 months prior to that.

I been having problems with the drinking water since delivery of the refrigerator on 12/4/2021. The smell of chlorine and taste of the water is disgusting, and this is after following the instructions on dumping out at least 2 gallons of water before use.

We have probably dumped out over 50 gallons at this point and the water still tastes horrible. We did not have this problem with our 20 year-old refrigerator that this model replaced. Have since called LG customer service twice – once on 1/12/2022 problem #cnn220112429683 and was told they would send me a new filter.

I did not receive a new filter so I followed up on 1/27/2022 problem #ccn220127766784 and the service rep said he would check on the problem. It is now 2/6/2022 and I still have not received a filter or a response from LG.

Best buy geek squad also ordered a filter for me which has not yet arrived either. The Geek squad tech, called LG and they told him it might be the water line which came as part of the setup from LG.

Neither LG nor Best Buy have been able to resolve this issue. The reason I upgraded my refrigerator from the standard model was to be able to use the filtered water so I did not have to buy bottled water.

I am now still buying bottled water because the water from the refrigerator still tastes horrible and LG has not helped at all to resolve this issue. This is the service I got after spending 5,000 dollars on LG products.

Bought this to replace our 27 cubic feet LG refrigerator with two drawer freezer and ice and water dispenser in the door. After 5 years, the LG stopped cooling/freezing even after replacing the compressor twice.

The only ice maker did not work consistently and did not make enough ice. I chose this Whirlpool cause the shelves are less deep so things are much easier to reach. I’m only 5 feet tall so reaching the back of the top shelf of the LG was a struggle.

I also love the shelves in the freezer. So much easier to organize and find things more quickly. I love the idea of having two doors and separate compartments in the freezer. Hopefully, this will keep in the cold better and save some energy.

My husband installed an in line water filter for the ice maker. I only wish it has an exterior water dispenser. We area family of six so it’s a little small for us but we got a 10 cubic feet fridge when our LG broke so between the two fridges, we have adequate space.

My only complaint is that the flap on the side of the left door sometimes opens while closing the door and hits the side of the right door. I have to consciously make sure it’s pressed in before closing.

I might have it checked before manufacturer’s warranty period expires.

This refrigerator is smaller than the GE profile it is replacing, yet it holds more food and makes accessing it very easy! The freezers are awesome and hold so much food and the slide out shelves make for easy and quick access.

The ice maker is a beast making ice fast, we have yet to run out of ice. The refrigerator it’s self fits perfectly in the space built for a counter depth refrigerator, looks like it was custom made for it.

Runs so quiet you and appears to hold the set temperatures with no fluctuations, as an awesome bonus our electric bill has lowered significantly! Most of our kitchen appliances are black and this goes beautifully with the other appliances.

Every time I open the refrigerator the cool blue led light makes everything look like it’s in 4K, and I feel like I’m on life styles of the rich and famous, though I live on disability. I’m so grateful that this refrigerator was $1000 off making it fit our budget, best refrigerator we have ever owned, never got this excited over a refrigerator in our 59 years.

If you’re thinking about this unit, pull that trigger, you will not regret it.

When looking at new refeigerators, I thought I had three real options: Top freezer, where you get one long shelf, stuff falls out when you open it, you forget you have the stuff in the back, etc and the drawers at the bottom of the fridge require you to sit down to use.

Option 2: bottom freezer, where the fridge is pretty good, but the freezer is basically a deep drawer bunch of stuff piled on top of each other. Can get french drawer style for a fancier look. Option 3: Side-by-side: This is where the freezer finally gets treated well, though a lot of apace is uaually lost to a water dispenser.

You get shelves and drawers in the freezer, but the fridge is generally cramped, and you still have to sit to deal with the fridge drawers. Turns out there is a 4th option – This innovative design combines the best of both worlds – the organization of a side-by-side freezer and the spaciousness of a top fridge design.

I spent quite a bit of time researching refrigerators and their features before purchasing this Samsung 4-Door Flex French Door Counter Depth Refrigerator with Beverage Center and Dual Ice Maker. It has exceeded my expectations! Here are the features I love and a few pleasant surprises.

First the surprises… The sleek front and counter depth makes our kitchen seem more spacious. In spite of a smaller footprint, the storage space inside seems greater than our old fridge with the same number of cubit feet.

Not sure how Samsung accomplished that. Perhaps it is just a better internal layout. The LED lighting is fantastic. Everything is illuminated with a daylight type lighting making it easy to see everything.

Knowing I will not need to change any light bulbs is a further win! The beverage center is one of the reasons we choose this model. We love having both a pitcher of water AND an internal water dispenser.

Both function flawlessly and are SO convenient! There are also controls to shut off the auto refill of the water pitcher, but we are unlikely to use that feature. I like having these items on the inside keeping the outside free of the clutter.

The door to the beverage center opens easily and we quickly became accustomed to the way to open up just the beverage center or open up to the whole fridge. The dual ice maker was also an attractive feature to us and it has not disappointed! Ice is important to me 🙂 and I love the choice of small cubes or tiny cubes.

I did purchase a different ice scoop as the ones that came with the fridge were a little larger than the opening of most of our glasses making neatly scooping ice into your glass a challenge. I also really like the option of setting the temperature of the lower right section of the fridge to either freeze, soft freeze, meat/fish, produce or beverage temperatures.

Although we have not yet changed it from the default freeze setting, I can see utilizing this while entertaining at lower temperatures and am happy to have this flexibility. Overall, we have been very happy with this purchase so far and find its combination of features makes using it a pleasure!.

We bought our Samsung 4 door Flex Family Hub refrigerator a few years ago. Our fridge is the version 2 model. I will say that the fridge runs well and we have had no issues there. It keeps a constant temperature and cools well.

I also love the door alarm which has a pleasant melody when letting me know that I have not closed a door properly. I have looked up the weather and looked for online recipes on the Family Hub. Bixby whish is meant to be Samsung’s version of Alexa is ok but I have Alexa and she is fine! I will however comment on the stainless steel and on the crisper drawers and their poor design.

We have noticed what looks like something dripped on both the stainless steel fridge doors and ran down the doors. Both the bottom stainless doors are now permanently discoloured. I have tried to clean the staining off and have not been successful.

I looked online for comments other consumers have posted and found some complaining about the same problem. I have found that some people have also complained about rust marks on their stainless that are permanent.

I have never owned a fridge where the stainless steel became permanently marked up. Some of these consumers have contacted Samsung and Samsung has refused to help them stating that their warranty does not cover cosmetic damage.

I’m sorry. really!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a bunch of rip off artists!! There is also a class action lawsuit in the United States where consumers are complaining about faulty ice makers that leak and have caused extensive water damage to parts of their home.

I am also totally frustrated with the design of the drawers. There is a lip inside all the drawers along the front of the drawer on the bottom edge of each drawer and debris and dirt get caught under the lip.

The only way to clean it is to take the front panel off the drawer. I have tried to wash away the debris in the sink to remedy this problem but it is impossible to clean under that lip. To take the front off the drawer is not that simple and if you do not do it correctly you might damage the drawer.

The designers of this fridge really anger me. Who is the world thought this was a good idea? Forgive me but monkeys could have designed a better drawer!! I will conclude by saying that the built in screen which is sort of like a big tablet and what Samsung calls the family hub is impressive however the apps are not that user friendly and I really don’t use the hub all that much.

It was a technologically impressive invention that ended up not impressing me. If I had realized this before I purchased this Samsung fridge I would have saved myself the aggravation and a whole lot of cash.

I wish i wouldn’t have been dazzled by the fridge at first sight and would have just bought a regular fridge. I should have remembered that fridges are made to keep things cold to preserve their shelf life.

I feel I should have made a wiser decision and that using my cell or laptop would suffice. Why do I need a fridge with an oversized tablet who’s apps don’t really work all that well?.

I purchased mine elsewhere but want people to know this IS an excellent refridgerator. you have to make sure the temperatures are set correctly. the most amazing feature of mine are the freezer draws.

so much easier to find things with drawers! and as Im old I need EASY. the most frustrating thing is that its heavy and though it is supposed to have wheels I could not get mine hooked up to water because the movers backed it against the wall and the plumber said they are not allowed to move these types of fridges because can gouge the floor.

There is a video that indicates putting cardboard under the four corners will make it easy to move but only forward or backward. that would be fine with me but Im 64. how would I get cardboard under the wheels? so, my advice to you all is make sure your mover leaves 4-8 inches behind your fridge so the plumber can reach and have them put cardboard under the four corners for you.

WHY an appliance with wheels should need cardboard to move is beyond me but apparently ALL the giant fridges require this. I do not regret this purchase. I will find a plumber who can do his job. best appliance I ever spent way too much money on.

We went from Kenmore Elite 28 CF that is made by LG, that had 9 parts break & replaced in 2 1/2 yrs ,to Samsung counter depth 22CF. Still has plenty room for 2 people. This refrig gets cold in a hurry! Was amazed.

Freezer below 0 in 2 hours! Middle drawer is good has 4 sections,it was smaller than what we had but ok room for plenty drink cans. The upper is 30 degrees,amazed at how much room still have with smaller space.

The fridge stays same temp even if door has been opened to take food items out. We spent 5 1/2 yrs with Kenmore Elite it struggled to keep upper below 40 degrees. I had to keep 6 temp gauges. Samsung is outstanding ,so far.

The freezer section is big enough, the drawer of the freezer automatically pulls out half way when you open bottom drawer ,which takes getting used to but may be a good thing so u see everything,nothing gets hidden.

The ice maker that i see so many comments on is ok so far. I think i see potential issue, it has a plastic auger,it if you use the ice maker for a few days the ice can tend to stick together a little.

U tube showed if dont use ice maker regularly to pull out ice drawer which is easy & throw out ice. This is not a problem,use it or lose it. The black stainless steel is stunning! Matches our stove. We have a smaller kitchen so going back to counter depth made a dramatic difference in a good way.

We found having a bigger refrig tends to make you just put too much in frig ,end up throwing things out because old. This smaller refig has made us very efficient,but still have a lot of room. Overall very happy.

22CF gives all we need and fits the kitchen instead of a larger 28CF overwhelming the room. As long as stays cold we will be happy. But we will never own another refrigerator with a warranty. The Kenmore Elite was a nightmare, the warranty saved us.

horrible products, warranties, customer service, horrible pricing, horrible websites both samung. com & the app. only a 3 year warranty is offered with samsung care+ rather than a 5 year warranty offered from home depot & lowes which are cheaper.

like ge refrigerators water filters, you can only use samsung water filters. so you can’t use your water dispenser unless you continue to “purchase” samsung water filters. ice maker sucks, impacts the space inside where the door & shelf is, design flaw! shelves in & on the doors are not adjustable making it limited with space.

you have to remove a shelf to place big items. freezer is big but doesn’t have a small shelf on the inside of the door like most other brands with french doors. water dispenser buttons difficult to select when pressing.
