20 Best Couch Material For Pets (2023 Updated)

My cat loves laying on this bed, but I am giving it one star because it has several holes and two long gashes after less than a month of use (see photos). I would simply repair the fabric, but it is a very loose faux velvet on the sides of the sofa that will fray with stitching.

For a very expensive product (even on sale) that is specifically targeted to people who want their pet furniture to match their human furniture, durability is important. Also, even if the rips could be repaired effectively, they would still look unsightly which completely defeats the point of buying this type of pet bed.

In additon, the listing erroneously says that the cushion is foam when it is cotton batting. Finally, I received the pet bed over a week after the latest promised arrival date. I am overall very unhappy with this purchase, and I wish I could get my money back.

My dog loves her new couch! The quality is amazing and feels like a better quality couch than a human couch and it is bottom heavy which is great for when she gets emotional and bounces around when she sees another dog walk past the window.

The couch literally doesn’t move. The only thing about the cushion is that it’s more on the firm side and my dog loves curling up on something soft and cozy so this was an easy fix with a Sherpa blanket.

I highly recommend this item especially if you dog or cat needs a boost with looking out the window. (Btw my dog is 10-11lbs for size reference).

We ordered this Surefit cover in the sable color and have used it for nearly one year. It was washed and dried and still looks new. We are very pleased with the quality and appearance. We ordered the same cover in the burgundy red to use at a later date.

Both colors coordinate with our Karastan area rug. We hope Surefit continues to carry this particular cover. Quality leather is rather slick, so we must adjust the arm covers frequently. We pinned four fishing weights to the back of the cover which keeps it from sliding forward.

We attached smaller ones to the ends of the arm cover which help hold those in place. Thanks Surefit! Now we can relax with our Maltese and enjoy our new sofa.

We eat, drink, and share our living room furniture with kids and pets. These covers are truly waterproof, hold up to daily use, and launder beautifully. After laundering, they are heavy, even after a maximum spin.

I hang it to dry overnight on a stair rail and it’s ready to go. We keep a couple extra around, just in case. We purchased our first SureFit waterproof cover a few years ago and it is still in great shape.

The fabric and design have changed since then, but is still a product I highly recommend.

My 3 dogs are only allowed on the furniture in one room. So, needless to say, that’s where you’ll always find them. Before, I covered the sofas with blankets. That helped protect the leather but still allowed the hair to work behind and under the cushions.

I got the sofa and loveseat covers for that room. They work perfectly, protecting the leather against all those toenails and catches all that hair. I remove and wash them every week or two. They wash up great!.

This couch is really awesome – it’s just. not an XL, it’s sized for a dog that is more medium to large. We have a 80 pound German Shepherd, who is tall/lanky but definitely considered an XL due to his height.

My hopes were that the extension would be enough, but I’m realizing the couch is simply not wide enough. If this was a 1/2 a foot wider it would be perfect with the extension. Don’t get me wrong, he will find a way to sleep on this new couch lol, he loves it! We also have a 60 pound German Shepherd that has been eyeing her chance to get cozy.

Just wanted to provide feedback for those who have tall/true XL dogs, don’t expect stretching room!.

Really beautiful, high quality couch. The picture is very misleading on size. Shows a full sized golden retriever on the large bed, there’s absolutely no way that dog would fit on this bed. Mine is a 49 lb black mouth cur which is considered a medium sized breed and it’s a tight fit on the large.

She also doesn’t like it very much but it is very nice and was already assembled which was awesome. I have to put a blanket on it for her to lay on it.

Can I just say, I literally love this. I have a medium sized Dalmatian and she needs a bed at ALL times! Shipping came fairly quick, about a week i’d say. The quality is excellent and the bedding is high quality as well.

I ordered this for my senior German Shepherd. She loves it! Just beware of the Caramel color, it’s not beige it’s peach, that’s the reason I took one star off. I just decided to throw a blanket over to cover it.

I did end up ordering another because my other two German Shepherds and two cats fell in love with it as well. I went with the same awful color because leather just wouldn’t fly in this house but I’ll just cover it as well.

It seems to be well built and it’s super easy to put together. I would definitely recommend it but not the Caramel, unless peach would go fine with your decor.

The bed looked good. I have two pit bulls and was hoping they would not tear it up because it looks like real furniture. It was fine for about two weels, until a toenail poked a small hole in the cushion.

Then they started tearing the cushion apart. I guess it would be okay for small dogs who can’t poke holes in it, but it was definitely a fail for me.

Bed looks nice, but is soo hard! What was supposed to be the best bed (and the most expensive) was the worst! It gave my dog bed sores!!! Added 2″ of memory foam, still fighting the poor dog’s bed sores and vet bills! Most expensive bed ever!!!! Do not buy, unless your dog has lots of fur or fat, and enjoys laying on a hard surface! Or better yet, steer clear of this bed!.

We found this bed randomly (gray one) at HomeGoods. I can’t say enough wonderful things about it. Our husky-shepherd mix LOVES this bed more than life itself. He’s 75 pounds and we got the smaller size.

It’s extremely easy to wash. The cushions come right out and the cover is super easy to wash. The bed is very plush. Feels like a cloud. The zippers are great and the whole thing is great quality. It’s a very comfortable bed too.

I would sleep in it myself. Our boy loves it so much we got another one (the brown one). Thank you!!.

By far the BEST bed we have ever purchased for our 90lbs pithuskyakita mix. He has slept the most in his Arlee Memory Foam Sofa Style bed which has given me a comfortable space on my own bed! It is such a great bed that I told a friend who purchased one for her beautiful pittie Ms.

Velma who also loves her new bed. Our Matai has never slept in any other bed (mine included) this long. I’m pretty sure his snoring is the best sign of his approval 🐾.

I needed a second covering for the cloth sofa in our sunroom/kids hangout space. Since the kids (and a Beagle!) are on it all the time I need to wash the cover very frequently. So having two covers on rotation is ideal.

The quilted fabric has some weight to it so it stays put a whole lot better as compared to our (lightweight polyester) other one. I would prefer the cover’s armrests to be longer, but to be fair; my sofa has wide armrests.

The kids also report that it’s comfortable to lounge on. Worth the price!.

The backing is not a non-slip/skid. Every time you sit on it the back slips down despite the strap. The strap is a white elastic that looks ugly, especially since the couch is not against a wall. Suggest that they color match the strap to cover.

Can not send back because had to wash it because of spill and the top portion shrunk, but the backing did not. The section that flips over the arm is not sewn in very well either, tore. Might be a good product for a cat or small dog, would not recommend for larger dogs.

I measured my couch, and bought this. Definitely too small and you have to adjust it every time you get up off of the couch. Had to order another one. One plus, I can tell you it’s waterproof because my dog peed on the couch and it didn’t soak through!.

This dog sofa is incredibly cute. Matches the color and style of our sofa and decor. Feels like it belongs. We’ll see how long it takes for the pup to get used to using it. He’s a curler, so he should be totally comfortable.

The cushion underneath isn’t super soft, but my dog won’t really care.

Our dog laid in this bed for about 6 months and one side of it sank in. We tried pushing the cushion back in place as recommended by the company & it went right back to one side. This bed is too expensive for the cushion to be easily be pushed to one side.

Not worth the money. Do not buy this bed.

This bed is amazing! It is comfortable, strong and very attractive to the eye. Been trying to get our pup off our bed for some time now and this bed was a perfect! She has plenty of room being we opted for the LG.

Even my 6yr old loves this bed and lays down with our pup at times haha. Definitely a great pick for anyone looking to make a transition from your bed to a doggy bed.

The dog sofa I purchased is great. I like the neutral gray color and the workmanship. The height is just right and the length is perfect for the dog I got it for. I like it enough that I ordered another one for my smaller dog.

The dogs like the couch. Hopefully the second one I got will keep both dogs off the big couch while chewing and playing with toys. And also hoping they like enough that they will sleep on them.

The website did not show a Proposition 65 Cancer Warning. It was in a label on the BOTTOM of the dog bed. Luckily, I saw it immediately when I inspected it. It is not PETCO’s fault–the manufacturer should have notified PETCO and then I am sure they would put the warning in the ad, but, SERIOUSLY? Who would love their darling pet enough to buy them a $100 dog bed if they knew it came with a cancer warning.

I wish stores would stop carrying these items, but, it would be hard because it is in so many things. This dog bed is going back to the store tomorrow, for sure. And it is a shame because it was adorable–I loved it.

but I love my dog more!.

I think this pet bed is absolutely adorable and the color I ordered goes very well with my furniture. Now if I can just get my cat to use it. That’s a cat for you! I’ve placed it by the fire place where he likes to lay, so hopefully he will.

Probably easier to get a dog to use it though.

This sofa is so adorable and my cats love it. This pet sofa is in a similar style and material to my furniture so it looks perfect in my living room. I have four cats and they all love to sit on my sofa and chairs, so when I saw this cat sofa I new it would be perfect for them.

They have all been using it at least once a day since we got it. It seems like a really great quality and the feet were really easy to screw on.

The sofa came in the mail a couple of days ago. It wasn’t the color I expected even though it is accurately represented online. dunno my prob there. Anyhoooooo, cat who is usually standoffish with new things went to it immediately and claimed it — even though it was bought for dawg.

Dawg saw it and ignored it once or twice and when instructedd to try it found he LOVED it too. He really, really likes this sofa now. He spends time on it when I’m in the living room and just sleeps on it all day :).

He’s never liked anything this much. Cat loves it too so they take turns. I wish it were slightly higher so I could see it better and not trip on it. I am getting furniture risers and will see if that helps and if it’s ok for dawg and cat like that.

It is light and comes in one piece. I love that the pillow the dawg lays on is attached using a button so no need to keep picking up the pillow. Someone with a dawg obviously thought about that when making the product.

This is my fave product I’ve bought from Chewy so far. and we’ve had lots of winners :).

I chose this bed because of the size and color. The color is not “caramel” colored, nor is it that pretty color in the photo. Rather, it’s more of a light peach color. It’s a good size for my doxie-jack russel terrier mix (24 lbs), and since she seems to like it, I will keep it instead of sending it back (because of the color).

🙂 Note to buyer, the legs are plastic, not wood. At the $200+ retail price, it’s overpriced, takes advantage of those of us who love and treat our animals as family. I got it on “sale”, $150, it’s worth half that, $80, tops.

I’m just glad my dog knows it was meant for her and left the human couch to go snuggle up in it. I am happy it’s a comfortable bed, that is elevated off the floor from drafts for my good old girl. I recommend this bed only if you don’t mind paying the price, and realize the bed is less caramel, and more of a very light peach color.

My 3 fur babies refuse to use ramps or steps to jump on my bed. Two Mini Schnauzers, age 15 & 8. My 2 yr old Chi Chi mix had bilateral patella luxation repair in March. She is a jumping bean. I worry about her jumping off bed with petite little joints.

I am using bed as a jump landing. This bed came fully assembled & looks like a piece of high end furniture. I highly recommend!.

#ReceivedFreeProduct I recently received this dog bed/couch and my dog absolutely loves it. When I took it out the box he was super excited and knew right away it was his. This was already assembled which I I loved because my dog was able to use it right away.

Ever since I got it he does not want to sleep anywhere else but there. Honestly, this is such a cute bed I love the color and leather. And this bed/couch is amazing quality and I know it will last my dog.

Also, it is very comfy and a great size for my dachshund dog because he’s super long. This couch/bed is super easy to clean as well I don’t have to worry about it getting stained or dirty. Overall, I love this, matches perfect with my living room decoration, and most importantly my dog loves it so much.

Our 14 year old, 63 pound fur baby is starting to struggle to get into her favorite recliner to sleep. This sofa bed is sturdy, not light weight so I don’t worry about it tipping when she gets in and out.

Cushion could be a little softer, a little shorter in length and would be nice if it was a little deeper to resemble more of a recliner. I find our dogs like more of a “close fitting chair” around them.

I’ve modified it by adding a comforter and pillows; Dixie now sleeps in it more.

Arrived quickly and looked great on the couch right out of the box. The anchors really set this apart from other couch covers. It stays in place when our 50 lb dog is on and off the couch but the back slips down when the humans are on it.

Excellent quality, the XL fit our longer couch perfectly. It’s nice and thick and will protect the couch from our dogs nails. Dog hair easily cleans up with the vacuum hose. So glad I found this product!.

Gold standard of sofa covers…if your an animal owner and need a furniture cover buy this cover! Material is top notch, looks good and robust… but also super comfortable to sit on… true to size… cover anchors hold firmly and both my little Pittie and American Bull dog like resting on the cover… cover stays in place and easy to smooth out wrinkles with wipe of the hand hand! This is a premium sofa cover, dog friendly and dog resistant to jumping on the sofa, etc….

I just purchased 2 of these beds in the XL size for my two very big boys. And, I am SO glad I did. Never have I seen such a great dog bed. I have gone through many a dog bed and none of them ever hold up to my five dogs.

My St. Bernard / Great Pyrenees mix weighs in at 103 pounds and has terrible arthritis and is about 12 years old now. He can hardly walk and this is with many treatments. My Black Lab mix is 129 pounds and he is starting to slow down a bit.

I have never spent this much money on dog beds but I’m glad I did with these. They are huge and the foam is very firm which is great because it won’t break down like all the others. I barely got them set up and all of my pups wanted on them.

I have attached a picture of my Black Lab mix (the heavier one) and as you can see the bed is massive and holds him up with no problem. They haven’t slept on them yet but I’m sure they will love them and I especially like the bolsters to hold their heads up.

Since my two medium sized dogs also wanted to take over these beds, I will probably order two more in a medium and small size for them. You can’t go wrong with these beds. Very glad I made the investment and this was a great purchase.

The only negative I can see may be an issue in the future is the zippers for the bolsters are rather tight. However, I think they need to be this way to keep the bolsters up. When I wash these, I will not put them in the dryer.

I also love the different fabrics you can choose from.

Pros: Denim is sturdy, not too stiff. Foam was already installed, just had to insert the bolsters. I called Snoozer directly (not Hayneedle) with questions before ordering and received great customer service.

Made in USA-big plus. Foam is very firm, not poofy like poly filled bed: 95 lbs. big boy and it does not squish down from his weight and sink in. Soft enough for comfort. Con: XL is HUGE! My fault, not Snoozer’s.

I wanted my dog to be able to sleep stretched out and overlooked the finished size. When he curls up, there’s PLENTY of space left. Bolsters, not chew proof. they stick out and are very tempting. My dog was so excited, he started biting them, so we quickly corrected that behavior.

Overall: love it. I would order one size smaller next time.

I bought this product about two months ago to use as an indoor sofa in our front living room. Our dogs love to look outside during the day, so this is their usual spot. We have two black medium-sized mixes (45-55 lbs each) that shed a lot.

I bought the extra large black sofa to accomodate both dogs. They both love it! Some people have said it is too hard, but I do not agree. My major concern with the bed is that although the cover is easy to throw in the washing machine and comes very clean, the zippers on the bolster part of the cover are REALLY difficult to reach.

The zippers are on the inside of the bed (next to where the dogs lay) instead of on the outside. This means that to reassemble the bed, you have to put the bolsters in, then try to reach your hand underneath them on the inside of the bed to close the zipper.

This is a very poor design – the zippers should be on the outside of the bed so that they are easier to reach. The zipper for the large foam piece is on the back / part of the sides, and it is easy to close that zipper.

It took two people to reassemble the extra-large bed. Overall, considering how much my dogs love it and how nice it looks, I would recommend it to others. In fact, I’ll likely purchase another one for the second floor of our house.

Love the colors & the design. The fabric is soft & Furniture Protector is well made. Unfortunately, I have to return it as the Love Seat size was too small. I needed the regular couch size & they are out of them.

It is not often that I feel compelled to take the time to write a personal email to a vendor to express such joy in their product; I recently purchased the fur pup protector blanket for my four year old pit bull that I just adopted 3 months ago.

Oreo was on the streets in Atlanta for four years and had difficulty adjusting to his fur ever home. He did not sleep through the night and would pace the rooms looking for I am not sure what. After I purchased the blanket, he started sleeping with me in my bed.

It brought him such comfort and appears to calm him down. He no longer walks the halls of the house at night. I don’t know if it is the comfort of the fur or the weighted nature of the blanket, but it is well worth every penny spent.

Bought it to match the throw. I wanted the option for my dog to curl up and rest her chin. I also liked that it could be used on the floor or in the car. The color didn’t match the throw. It was a shade off.

My dog shows little interest in the bolster preferring to sit next to me on the throw and rest her chin on me. I do like it helps protect the couch back without having some of it hanging over the sofa back making for a nicer look.

It washes super easy and maintains its good looks.

Bought this for a new puppy. He’s been introduced to it, but hasn’t really had a chance to use it on a daily basis. The quality is very good. Based on experience with my other dogs, I’m sure the couch will be a favorite spot and this will really save the couch upholstery! All the products I have purchased from paw.

com have been excellent.

Not only the bed was overly late because of different factors but no one really could tell us when we would get it and when we got it it was destroyed and disgusting. We will not buy Kardiel again.
