20 Best Cotton Yarn For Clothing (2023 Updated)

A great product to work with. I make scrubbies on the 24 peg knitting loom with this cotton and scrubbie yarn. They work up nice and are stretchy until it is sewn together at the end of the project. Lots of colors of bernat cotton to choose from, great product! Highly recommend!.

I thought this yarn was so cute and I grabbed a free Michael’s pattern for the Crochet Market Bag when I bought the yarn. I was very pleased with the jute yarn. It is very sturdy. The natural jute yarn in “Ombre” has just small bits of color mingled into the mostly natural color and is perfect for the cute market bag.

The bag turned out nice and the yarn will be plenty strong enough to support any items I decide to carry in it!.

As a beginner this was my first time working with cotton yarn and it was a bit of learning curve when transitioning from using acrylic yarn. Overall I liked using it and the colors are beautiful. I actually bought all of the color because I didn’t want to run out in the middle of my project and then not be able to finish the way I wanted.

I would recommend but buy a few at a time to see if you like working with first otherwise you might not be happy because it doesn’t exactly glide off the crochet hook like acrylic yarn does, as its a bit more rigid.

I’ve been buying Sugar’n Cream yarn for decades but I recently bought several balls at my local JoAnn’s that were very scratchy. I noticed the label still says “made in Canada” but the USA cotton symbol was gone.

I wonder if they are now making this yarn with a different kind of cotton, or perhaps they’ve changed their manufacturing process? Well, either way, I’m very disappointed in these recently purchased balls.

With sales, this is a good price and good option (typically found/in-stock in stores) for a 100% cotton yarn. This is definitely on the rougher side as far as 100% cotton yarns go, and when washed turns fairly stiff – would not suggest for wearables.

Seems like it will be quite durable, and great color options.

You take a risk buying out of date products and on this occasion it didn’t pay off. The liqueurs had solidified. Took a chance but I knew what I was doing.

Wish they were a bit cheaper but they were lovely

I am a beginner in knitting, so I decided to buy something cheap for my first top. I used 3 pink skeins and each one of them was a different shades. Not recommending for a project where you need more than 1 skein.

Also , I’ve noticed that it sheds a lot. Something to consider….

This is really nice yarn but I thought something was off so I measured the yardage on two different skeins, one white color and one black color. Each skein is short by at least 20 yards! this really makes a big difference when making something large, like a blanket! I have had to purchase a lot more yarn than I planned on because of this discrepancy! Not happy at all!!! If you are just making washcloths/dishcloths it’s probably not a big thing but when making a 100% cotton blanket? Ya, it makes a BIG difference!! I will be using Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Cotton yarn next time.

Was looking for a solution for kids masks to be able to ship but also easy for kids to get off and on without pulling at their hair like the elastic mask strings similar to what is used for party hats.

Saw a mask another crafter made who used yarn. This is perfect! Not itchy and is lightweight yet strong. I wouldn’t necessarily use it for knitting or crocheting, but it’s a multi-purpose yarn. I even made a yarn bracelet with it.

I’m a wool snob but I really like this yarn. I’ve never worked with chain construction yarn before, but I’m really liking it. Doesn’t split, behaves well if you have to rip out. About 1 to 2 slubs per skein.

My mother-in-law picked out the yarn for a sweater I’m knitting for her. The varigated colors are working very nicely with the strong vertical nature of the pattern (Noro Birdseye slip stitch pattern).

Might have to make one for me!.

This is the softest yarn that I have ever knit with! I am a fan of yarns that are a cotton merino blend. The wool gives it warmth while the cotton gives it the softness against your skin. The color variations of this yarn give your garment a unique look which you usually only get from hand dyed yarns.

I really love this yarn and have used it for several projects, however if you are someone who pulls out work a lot, this may not be the best choice.

The cotton is excellent quality and available in alot of different colours. I have used the cotton to crochet dish cloth’s which I’ve sold and given to friends and family.

I love this product which I am using to knit dish cloths. My only disappointment so far is that not 1/4 of the way through the pistachio skein I encountered a knot in the yarn where it was joined. I dont expect to have any joins within a skein.

I hope I dont encounter this again.

This is lovely quality and I have been using it to make reusable cleansing pads and dishcloths. Its really lovely and soft.

I bought 3 balls of Catona 25 Gram for an amigurumi for my son. Two would have been enough. Even though these are probably the smallest balls of cotton yarn I’ve ever bought, they are perfectly sized for small projects, I used less than half a ball of the blue for this amigurumi.

Working with the yarn was a breeze, no issues with with the ply separating, which can happen with other yarn when working high tension crochet. Love the availability of colors and the fact that I do not have a ginormous amount of left-over yarn taking up space in my yarn drawer.

TranslateShow in original languageTolle kräftige Farben. Das Garn läuft schön ab. Bislang keine Knoten im Garn. Ich habe Kosmetikpads daraus gehäkelt und sie sind nach dem Waschen noch schön in Form (bei 60 Grad).

Ich war mutig und habe sie in den Trockner gesteckt. Etwas geschrumpft sind sie aber nicht der Rede wert. Tolles Garn und strapazierfähig. Meine Spültücher sind noch in Arbeit. Bin gespannt wie die sich beim Spülen machen.

Bin sehr zuversichtlich.

I absolutely LOVE this thread. I use it to make tzitzits, and it makes them so sturdy and durability! This thread is such good quality! I bought every single color they offer, and I don’t think I’ll ever run out as they come in such large spools.

Also, there is great customer service! A few of the spools of thread I ordered weren’t available, and I got a very friendly and personable email from a Woolery employee apologizing and letting me know that they would be sent as soon as they became available, which was pretty quickly.

Speaking of that, my order came very quickly! It was a week or less I think, and only about another week for the items that weren’t available when I originally placed my order. i have used this yarn for both knitting and crocheting when my weaving ambitions settled to the side. the hand. the weight. the fact that there is no splitting. i allowed myself to be lured by another yarn company’s 50/50 cotton and bamboo yarn on sale.

bought it for a sweater. splits if you just look at it. should have just paid the higher price and gotten a good yarn. may still return the bamboo/cotton yarn. you truly do get what you pay for.

I ordered this yarn to do my first weaving on my Rigid Heddle Loom. I used it for warp and weft, and made a scarf in plain weave. There are no knots in the yarn, which made my first time warping so much easier! This is nice yarn in beautiful colors.

It’s easy to work with; I’m thankful I chose it for my very first project.

I love this yarn! I used it to knit a sweater that I gave someone as a gift, and wish I could have kept it for myself. It’s incredibly soft and the little bit of nylon gives it some loft and sheen. I bought more of this yarn n a soft white called Pearl and I’ll be knitting a sweater for myself.
