20 Best Cotton Leggings For Women (2023 Updated)

I’ve gotten leggings from high end department stores, and yet I always come back to these. They are the most comfortable leggings. Not right away, but after a while, they pill slightly in the crotch, but not nearly as badly as many other brands.

If you wash them in cool water they retain the nice black look. When you just want to be comfortable and don’t want leggings that compress your tummy the way that control ones do, try these. I’m a plus size, and they look great with a tunic top and a cute shoes.

Nice modest medium-weight fabric with a nice softness that launders well. I find the waist band fits too loosely on me and I am constantly pulling the pants up. It seems the elastic length should have been cut a little smaller which would have allowed for a bit more stretch and better fit.

I am keeping these pants because of more positive features and because I wear them with a long shirt at home.

M. C. Hammer pants. Waist fits snug, but the hips and thighs part is way big, and the calves and ankles part is too tight. Fabric is not very soft. Waistband is thin and bunched up like on sweat pants, making it uncomfortable.

I’m 5’6” and 138 lbs and ordered a small. Fit is good and length is especially nice as they are longer than other pairs I’ve owned. The one thing I would mention is that there’s not a lot of stretch in the waist when you’re pulling them on.

Maybe that’s because they’re cotton rather than something more stretchy?.

I’m so glad to finally find all cotton leggings. I love that they’re more pants like than tights like. I’m 5’2″, 107 and the small fits just as I wanted — comfortably a little loose, not form fitting, and not super big.

I absolutely love these leggings. They are exactly what I was looking for. They are soft. They bounce back. I’m short and round and I couldn’t ask for a better fit. Hanes and Walmart have always been my best choice.

The quality of the capris was better than average. No complaints there. Nice colors. I bought two pairs. They would be great for the right person. But the size 2X Athletic Works Women’s Plus Size Core Active Capris Legging fits my mom perfectly.

That product arrived the other day, and she’s over-the-moon about it. I bought her two pairs of 2X in Just My Size at the same time. The products look similar, but she can’t even get these leggings on.

I’m not sure if that’s because these leggings are smaller or the material has less give, or whether it’s a combination of both factors. But be aware of the sizing disparity between the two brands. Go up at least one size if you’re buying Just My Size capris, would be my suggestion, just to be safe.

I’m on the fence about whether to return these. I bought them online for a very, very reasonable price. It would probably cost me more in time and packaging materials to return them than it would be worth.

I’ll probably donate them. Someone will enjoy them.

These leggings ran a tad big on me, so I ordered a smaller size. They fit perfectly! I love the material too. I was expecting dull cotton leggings, but these have a hint of a shine to them. They are not shiny though.

The material is great quality, so I had to order another pair. Too bad they don’t come in more colors!.

Follow the size guide & the fit is great. Very soft & comfortable. I may not wear them out to dinner but as everyday wear Ill go to the store or drs in them. Being recently retired & relocated to Az, I find myself wearing comfy casual clothes more & these are perfect for that.

The 4 stars (& not 5) is because they are only available in black & grey. I would buy several more pair if they were available in more colors. But for everyday, around the house they are great. Even comfy enough to sleep in.

I bought these for Thanksgiving dinner and I really like them. The slimming panel is not too restrictive to be uncomfortable but smooths out the tummy area. I like that they come up high on the waist.

My only complaint is that they aren’t longer. They hit me above my ankle, I’m 5’8″. The fabric is nice, not too thin to be see through and not too thick to be hot. They run true to size for me. I’m going to buy another pair the next time I go to Walmart, they are very affordable at around $15.

I LOVE these leggings. I just bought these at Stop Shop for about $15-16, and even though their size chart states that I should get a small since I’m normally a size 6 for pants, I bought a medium. The medium fits me perfectly, and the leggings are really snug, but feel comfortable.

They help make my tummy and legs look a lot slimmer, and I would definitely purchase them again!.

These leggings are amazing! They have so much support built in. The top doesnt even look like you think it would, I think its got some pinup type style in my opinion. Very va va voom. Plus you buy your size and theyre forgiving if your weight fluctuates.

The length is a little longer than capris and a little shorter than full length which is good if you’re a short person. The quality is good just like their other leggings. There is one problem though.

The bottom of the leggings near the ankle are too loose rather than a tight fit. This causes the leggings to not lay straight and look wrinkled at the bottom and ride up your leg because they are too loose.

I constantly have to tug the bottom of the leg back down every time I stand up. First I bought 2 pair and they both were loose at the bottom. I washed them thinking they would shrink and get tighter at the ankle but they didn’t.

Then I thought they must be defective so I bought 2 more pair. The new ones do the same thing so I’m returning them unworn. Four pairs were defective at the hem area of the leg. Two of them I’m stuck with because I washed them.

I really wanted them to work because I am 5’ tall and regular xs leggings are always too long for me.

I have been buying these leggings for years they use to be made in the USA but that changed two years ago so I stopped buying them. I wish they would start making them again in the USA. The size of fitting had changed since then I have been trying to find some other ones I like better no luck.

So I decided to go down one size to small they fit but a little tight so I did keep them because I like the feel of them. They do fade over time but these leggings I wear everyday.

Material feels fabulous and has the same fit as Lysse leggings usually do. However, the tag was in the back and I could literally read it through the pants. If you will always be wearing a shirt to cover up your panties (and anything else you don’t want showing through), these might be for you, but they were just too thin for me.

So sad to send them back!.

I purchased these in the dark brown. The color is on the cool side which is just what I was looking for. As mentioned above, for me they are little short-waisted, but then I have a very long rise. Not a deal breaker however so I kept them.

They are quite comfortable and although they have a nice stretch to them they hold their shape.

Bought these for upcoming trip in the fall. Needed a heavier weight legging and this fit the bill. Leave the color. True dark brown which I wanted Fit well and look well.

These leggings are so comfortable. The waistband doesn’t gouge and they are so soft. I do wear tops that cover my rear and upper thighs, especially when wearing leggings, which is true with these as well, but if you’re going to buy leggings that feel and look so good, Hue is the way to go!.

These are actually long enough! I’m ‘only’ 5’ 8” but most of my height is in my legs. Showing me information that “the model is 5’ 10” is useless; you need to know the inseam and AT reports a small inseam (I forget what they said for these, or if they even said).

my inseam is 35”. But others reported good lengths in their reviews so I decided to try a pair. Normally this has me returning them. I am amazed to report that while these leggings measured 32” out of the bag, they comfortably stretched (and stay) for my full length.

Will be getting more.

The length is perfect. The fabric is thin and provides no support anywhere. These mat as well be pajama pants. All my imperfections show through , my stomach just hangs out. I can wear these at home to clean house , I won’t wear these in public.

I think the quality is poor. Are these made in China ?? I’m willing to pay for quality. I don’t consider this quality. I won’t order Again. I won’t recommend. don’t want anything made in China.

These are my go to leggings. I’ve tried just about every retailer that sells “tall leggings” and not one can compare to these. They are the perfect length, soft and durable. The waist hugs your body instead of squishing it (if you know what I mean).

They are not see through. I would definitely size down in these because of the stretch. I’m 5’9, 155lbs and usually a 8 tall. A small tall fit perfect in these.

Waist measurement in title is my natural waist, about 3” above belly button for me. The back and sides of the leggings reach my natural waist and the front rise sits about 1” below belly button (32. 5” here).

My inseam is about 27” and the widest part of my hip is my low hip (42. 5”). I almost purchased a large and even considered an XL because of the size guide but glad I didn’t because I wanted them to fit more like tight leggings.

The widest part of my thigh is 24” standing, 25” sitting with leg raised. Calves are 14”. They fit like full length leggings (ankle not showing, no extra material hanging). The waist is a little tight fresh out of dryer (doesn’t leave an impression when I take them off but does create a tiny bump that’s visible if I wear a tight shirt).

The legs are form fitting with flexibility, and I’m not worried about ripping. Most importantly they loosen as I wear them for awhile so they end up looking like the model picture above if I wear them for multiple days without putting them in the dryer to shrink back.

The color is very black. The look and feel is not like any cotton I have known. If I saw them in the store I’d think they were similar material as other ponte leggings, but less thick or stretchy. They’re thick enough to not show my cellulite but only modifies my form a little bit (and only before they stretch out), so they’re not super for tummy/thigh control.

They are however very comfortable and I like wearing them under pants (New England winter) or alone with a winter dress. I personally like them for light dance/stretching/working out because they’re stretchy enough and the cotton is better for preventing…lower infections.

I would not wear them as pants out and about personally but you do you. Overall they’ve become a significant staple for my wardrobe and I’m extremely impressed that these are 100% cotton.

Own two in different colors and lengths. I size up to a Large (normally wear a Medium, which isn’t tight on me at all) and wear these soft, smooth, lightweight, thin, but completely opaque, cotton leggings as loose pajamas (or around the house) with a T-shirt.

(BTW, on very cold nights, I sometimes wear FI’s Medium-size joggers, which are great for outside too. ) I’m quite sensitive to texture/fabric and these are perfect. They do stretch out as the evening/day progresses.

The waistband is soft, comfortable and not too wide or pinched.

These are my favorite leggings – they are extremely soft and comfortable. They don’t shrink that much even when I dry them on a normal temperature. And of course I buy them because they are organic and 100% cotton without all the spandex making them feel weird.

I am waiting for the black to be available again, so I ordered the green ones. They are just as comfy, but the color is a little strange because it has more yellow in it than I would like. It’s okay – I can wear it with black and blue.

I used to buy the jeggings from Catherine’s, but about a year ago they decided they weren’t going to sell the tall sizes anymore and I started to look for something else. I ordered chinos and these. I didn’t think they would work, but it was worth a try.

The chinos didn’t fit but these are great! I don’t carry a bag so pockets are necessary. These handle my wallet and my phone. These are long enough! I wish there were more colors, but I will be buying more.

I give these Cozy leggings 5 stars. They are warmer than other leggings, slightly heavier knit than others and excellent in cooler weather. Not easy to wear in our southern summer months due to excessive heat and humidity, but great in cool months and on cool nights in fall & spring months.

Colors and prints are variable, but I find I prefer the solids and pints that are smaller and more muted rather than the bright loud prints with too big prints with consistent sizing.

Love the colour. Really comfy and have kept me warm without being too thick. Initially didn’t notice the warmth until I wore my regular gym leggings today and was freezing! Had to go home and change back into these.

They are thinner than my gym leggings but so much warmer. Sizing is on the big side though;I used the sizing guide which told me I was XS but I don’t like my leggings to get loose or baggy. Usually a UK 8 I had to go for XXS and they’re a perfect fit.

I didn’t bother trying the XS on.

The quality is good and comfortable. I am a return buyer online, but is a bit upset that I just realise that the same size M has different dimensions in different places. M size fits me when I buy from Uniqlo in Hong Kong, but it’s much bigger in the UK.

I think it is better to keep the same standard throughout the world as people are travelling around the world. This is especially obvious for an international brand like Uniqlo.

As suggested by the name, it’s quite warm. In fact it is warmer than the normal Uniqlo heattech. It is also soft and comfortable and isn’t see through. The leggings might be long for someone who is petite.

I find it easy to wear under my clothes and am glad to have received it as a sampling product. Overall, it’s a good pair of leggings even though it is slightly overpriced.

These are a very pretty and distinctive design. They are exactly the same as the pictures. The fit is a little odd on me. The cuffed bottoms are flattering at the ankle but the waist isn’t quite right.

The top is fairly tight with a thin waist band, but the abdomen and crouch area are quite baggy. They are still good to lounge around the house in or run to the shop in, but I wouldn’t wear them out anywhere.

Perfect leggings. I have been looking for fitted casual/sportswear leggings for a while for daily wear running around after a toddler! These are amazing. Suck you in in all the right places (needed since having a baby!) and the best thing about them they are not at all see through with nude no VPL underwear which a lot of leggings still are.

Can be dressed up with a nice coat etc or down with a sweater. Will definitely be buying more colours hope they realise some more maybe a pastel blue for spring and a grey? I went for a medium and am a curvy hip/bum Uk 12 which when they arrived I thought there’s no way these are fitting but did squeeze into them and very flattering without being restricting.

Very high waisted which is just what I wanted. 5 ft 4 in height I did turn the bottom up twice for a more ankle length to wear with high tops.

Pleasantly surprised – was a bit nervous about the waist crossover with my mum tum pouch but the waist sits above the belly button. It doesn’t suck you in, there’s no elastic in the waist, but they are very comfortable to wear all day.

Dropping one star because they’re just on the thin side – still opaque but I feel like you can basically see the cellulite underneath them! Luckily I got these gorgeous green ones to layer under with the Vermont jumper that covers the bum.

But just be mindful, they don’t suck in or hide the lumps and bumps. The green colour is amazing and a lovely comfy fit. Medium fits my 10-12 postpartum bod with thighs.

The material felt a bit weird straight out of the packet, but they fit ok (ever so slightly on the loose side) and they weren’t too expensive so thought I’d keep them. Once they’ve been washed they feel much nicer! They’re squat proof and pretty much stay up during HIIT workouts, don’t mind pulling them up a bit occasionally as I kept them knowing they were a little big.

Length is ok, I’m only 5′ so im used to gym leggings being long. These fold themselves under nicely so look alright on me but would probably be the right length on someone taller. Pleased with purchase.

These are the best quality, cotton leggings ever ! I have three pairs of both grey and black, I’m typically a Medium to a large since I’m curvy with a booty— but I was able to get away with a size small! I originally bought a couple Mediums to see how they fit— they were perfect as well BUT, were very high waisted lol came right up under my boobs and I am 5,4.

5”-5,5” tall. I’m average height. My other leggings I grabbed in size small and they still were reasonably high waisted and still hugged everything right— both sizes are tall girl friendly in my opinion.

I had a good amount of material bunched up at the ankles with the size Mediums. I am 158 lbs.

I’m so glad that these leggings are back in stock. They were out of stock over a year and the leggings that were replaced were trash. So happy that you guys decided to bring these back. By far the best, comfortable, nice fitting leggings for the price.

These need to be the everyday leggings and please keep these in stock especially since winter is around the corner.

These are the absolute, hands down, best leggings you can buy. If you have a problem with pants being too tight on your legs/butt but too big on your waist, these are for you! They went out of stock for a while but when I saw they were back, I ordered like 10 pairs.

These are the only leggings that fit me perfectly. They do run small compared to other F21 pants, I’m usually an XS at F21 but the medium here fit perfect.

I have been buying skims for a few years now and I think this is my favorite collection. The material is so flattering and comfortable. I have 9 of these sets now in several different colors some with the shirt sleeve cotton jersey shirt and some with the long sleeve cotton jersey shirt.

I’m 5’2, 121, and got a size small. The waist band has a little room on me so if you have a 24. 5 inch waist you can size down to a size XS for a tighter fit because they’re stretchy. I don’t like my loungewear bottoms too tight on my thighs so I still get a size small.

I highly recommend these. I can’t wait for the weather to cool down here in south Florida so I can wear my long sleeve sets! These make your shape look really nice and the cotton jersey shirts are cut to shape your waist.

They make me look like I have abs when I wear them. Really great products and the material is not cheap.

Okay I’m going to post the review I wanted when I was nervous to buy. I’m 174lbs 5’2, shaped like an actual coke bottle but have a little pudge. I got a medium. They aren’t too long and aren’t short, just right.

I’m short so the leggings do start right where my belly button starts which I’m okay with, just know if you have a pudge the band is fitted and will make you look pregnant because the pudge is being pushed on lol, but not in a uncomfortable way just look wise.

I got the black and they are only see through where the butt is even with black underwear, but I plan on wearing them with a flannel or sweater so that isn’t a problem for me. The material is so damn soft and stretchy so they can be worn dressed up, lounged, going to bed, etc.

I’ve only had them for a month and wash them weekly just to wear them again because it’s so comfy, along with the cotton tank. I normally wear a size 11-12 in jeans and in other tights or bottoms, I always need a L.

Let me start by saying that these leggings are very comfortable. I also think a certain niche of body types will look great in these. But the band hits right at the belly button and has immediate looseness of fabric below that.

The effect will 100% make you look like you have major FUPA, even if you have a flat stomach, and you can’t really roll them down or adjust them without making them look super weird and baggy in the crotch.

The boxer cut also highlights the strangeness of the fit. I usually only feel okay about wearing them with my long tank over the top of the band. I am 5’6, I wear a size 6, I wear a medium in pants, and I am fairly slender, though I do have a bit of a butt.

I ordered a medium and they definitely fit, if that helps anyone.

Most reviewers mention they’re buttery soft; I’d say it’s more smooth and stretchy. I’m normally a small or xs in tentree pants, so I got the small. They’re stretchy but still pretty tight. I tend to get bloated a lot so these pants were uncomfortably tight for my sensitive belly.

Also I’m 5’0 and the length ran 2 inches past my heel. So I’m not a huge fan of these pants. I was able to exchange them for the Tentree inMotion 7/8 pocket legging size medium – and they’re perfect.

Bonus for the side pockets.

Love the fit and material. Good for everyday wear, but I find the material is not breathable enough for sweaty activities or hot temperatures. I bought several colors to wear with tunics. Washes well and looks durable.

If you’re between sizes I suggest sizing down.

These leggings are the best I’ve ever owned. They don’t fall or stretch while you work out like others I have tried! I have had my first pair for a while now and there are no signs of pilling or wear! They are buttery smooth and next to nothing sticks to them.

I was curious to try the PowerChill after falling in love with the other activewear leggings. Sad to say, I’m mixed! On the plus side, they’re VERY soft and cozy. I also love how smooth they make my legs look.

On the downside, the cotton blend means these don’t lose moisture very well. The waistband gets pretty saggy, too. You’d get a similar look and feel with the more affordable jersey-knit or jersey-ankle leggings.

Overall, the PowerChill line-up is a decent enough purchase that’s a touch overpriced and better suited to walks or lounging. If you want a pair for your exercise routines, stick with PowerPress or PowerSoft.

1st these are full length leggings the taper at the angles and the picture should have told me all I needed to know about the actual length. I am 5′ 6 and they are bunched around my ankle. They are not remotely squat proof in fact I will lounge around the house in these but I would probably not wear them out in public they are so thin and sheer.

They claim they are light compression but there is no compression to them at all in fact they’re baggy around the ultra high waist. Worst of all is the pocket placement. The opening to your phone pocket is all the way on the seam line on the side of your waist and is not easy to insert your phone into or pull it out of while wearing the leggings.

I can’t imagine going through one of my workouts with my phone right below my ribcage. They are a loser for me.

I was looking for plain black leggings that would would fit well, not be transparent, would go with everything, have a pocket and not make my bum look super flat – these leggings do just that. Of course, they can’t sculpt your body the way compression leggings do, nor do they tuck your tummy in.

In fact, there’s really nothing super special about them, but they are just good, durable, decent and well-fitting, so they make a great base for my fitness looks when combined with different tops. Totally recommend.

A note on sizing: I was surprised that these leggings are not full length. I’m far from a model height – I’m 173 and they hit about 6 cm above my ankles. Also, if you’re in between sizes or choosing the size to order, I recommend going a size up.

I was afraid to order a larger size (for fear they’d be too loose on me), but I’m happy I did.

I am now 5 months pregnant and no longer fit into my ordinary workout leggings so thought I would get some maternity ones to last me through the rest of my pregnancy. I liked the idea of the bum sculpt seam and the pocket, as these are two great features espcially when pregnant.

The leggings themselves fit great, nice and supportive and sculpting as expected, however the front bump area is a disaster! The baby still has lots of growing to do over the next few months but the front panel is already too tight and restricting around my bump.

It was really uncomfortable whilst walking and the leggings definitely won’t be able to grow with me for the rest of the pregnancy seeing as the front is already too restrictive. Since all women have different bump shapes and sizes, it is important to make your maternity items flexible in this sense! We already have enough to deal with emotionally without clothes being a problem :(.
