Best Corsair Strafe Rgb Profiles (2025 Updated)

While shopping at one of our local Walmart stores. I went looking for a new keyboard for my desktop computer cause my old keyboard had problems. I seen the Corsair STRAFE RGB Mk. 2 on the self and looked it over.

For starters it’s a mechanical keyboard which uses ‘Cherry MX’ switches under each key on the keyboard. If you never used a mechanical keyboard it will take some time to get used to it. But once you do get used to a mechanical keyboard you will never go back a cheap keyboard ever again.

Another thing is mechanical keyboards tends to last much longer then cheaper keyboards. This keyboard would be perfect for both gamers OR someone which types a lot. Just be warned the keys on the keyboard is not quiet.

Which means you will be able to hear the person typing on the keyboard if they are in the same room. A bonus for those gamers is this keyboard includes “MOBA/FPS Keycap Sets” These extra keycaps are gray in color which has a nice texture to them which offers more grip.

I’ll include a photo with them install on the keyboard. You can use Corsair’s software called “iCue” which can be downloaded from their website. You can use this software to change the lighting of the keyboard.

You can also use this software to program the key’s to do something else if you wish.

Pros: The buttons are possibly the best I’ve felt on a Keyboard, very smooth. The LED software iCUE is also fantastic, and runs like a dream. You can set the hardware to be a set colour scheme on startup, and a separate scheme for when the PC is running the OS.

You can of course make the match. Cons: I’m finding it hard to find a silicone cover to protect it from my model paints or crumbs. It might be a good Corsair branded accessory.

I was looking for a keyboard that wouldn’t wake my wife in the evening since she goes to bed earlier than me. After searching reviews online for silent keyboards, I gave this one a go. I was certainly not disappointed.

Mechanical haptic feedback while being dead silent has been achieved with this keyboard.

If you are looking for a mechanical keyboard with clicky keys, this is for you. It also has RGB LEDs which can be set with the iCue software to do either patterns or application specific color patterns (like movement cross in a specific color).

Like all the blinkenlights it can be controlled via Asus’ Aurora software (or OpenRGB on linux). The only thing I didn’t like about the keyboard is the keycaps are essentially upside down for the letters (the shift-character is below the un-shifted character) For example the ^ is below the 6 but still works the way you expect, which for numbers is fine but on things like the backslash are confusing initially.

The spacebar has a crosshatch carbon-fiber texture on it which is nice. Unlike a lot of modern keyboards the USB cable (USB-A) is built in (and quite thick with a braided cover) so if you were hoping to color match with a custom cable this isn’t for you.

It has all the usual media keys and flip-feet. A spare USB-A passthrough port on the back is where you expect it to be. The media keys work on the Mac as is, on windows you load the driver (plug-n-play on win-10) and it worked on Ubuntu out of the box.

The other thing I would note is the back corners are quite sharp (odd on a molded piece of plastic) but 2 seconds with a nail file and the corner can be dulled down.

I love this Corsair k70 low profile keyboard. I love the lights in this keyboard. There’s so many different variations that you can use. It really adds to the experience if there’s low light or at night time.

And I use this for playing digital pinball games. I bet you didn’t know that was a thing. I remember playing that back in the 70s and I loved playing pinball with my friends at the store. So I found a website that you can purchase these games.

And you use the shift keys for your flippers and the control keys will nudge it. Well trust me I pound on these keys and it can take a beating. You don’t have to do that in order to play these games but when I’m in the zone I accidentally do it all the time.

Doesn’t make the ball go any faster but of course when I’m in the zone I forget this isn’t an actual pinball machine and I pound on the keys sometimes. That’s why I know this keyboard can take a beating and still holds up with no problem.

I have never cracked one of the keys on this. Now the old model they had a few years ago those keys cracked all the time. Not this one. They have redesigned this and this thing is sweet. And it has a control for the volume on this silver wheel at the top.

And you can lock the keys with this button at the top that has a picture of a padlock so that while you’re playing a game you don’t accidentally hit the Windows key or something and screw up your game.

I think this thing is definitely overpriced but at least you know you’re going to be getting a really good keyboard that should last for a long time. It even has a USB on it for hooking something up to it like your mouse or a webcam?.

Straight out of the box, is an amazingly sensitive keyboard. Loved the feel, layout, response, overall noise, every aspect. iCUE isn’t the greatest to work with but I got disappointed over time. My previous keyboard (a cheap mechanical Roccat) lasted me about 3 years with no issues and I upgraded to this as I was upgrading my system as a whole.

This keyboard only lasted 1 year and 5 months before experiencing Key Chatter across common keys. After a thorough clean and no improvement, I replaced the damaged switches with un-used ones from the keyboard.

2 and a half months later, key chatter again. Apparently, the keyboard wasn’t covered due to wear and tear given its age. I was disappointed at the fact I’ll have to replace what’s marketed as a high-quality keyboard at such an earlier stage than lower-quality keyboards from competitors.

Overall: Amazing keyboard for short-term usage. Loved it overall and felt the higher price point was worth it however time has not been on its side and its shorter lifespan compared to other keyboards has left me extremely disappointed in a keyboard I thought so highly of.

This is my first experience with a mechanical keyboard, and even more-so, my first experience with a legit gaming keyboard. I really use this for work-related tasks, but perhaps will get into some gaming with it in the future.

The tactile nature of the keys feels absolutely amazing. I am in no way great at typing, but I am ok enough to get satisfaction out of a great feeling keyboard like this. It isn’t overly noisy, but it does have an audible click to it, especially when you type more quickly.

I again am not using this for gaming, and really don’t have an opinion on the RGB gaming type accessories. I do, though enjoy the different colors I can have that sort of breaks the monotony. The functionality is somewhat simple in that there are keystrokes that will engage and change the basic profiles preset in the keyboard, itself.

There is far more customization if you utilize the proprietary software that can be downloaded at the Corsair website (bear in mind that there is no support for Mac OS, which I feel is a huge miss by Corsair).

The iCUE software is a great way to customize ever nook and cranny, but there is a learning curve, or at least there was for me. The software lacks some intuitive functionality and I found that I was very frustrated with it for the first hour or so of trying to navigate through to see what fun stuff I could add to the keyboard.

All in all I am very happy with this purchase. It’s a pricey peripheral, but well worth it if you have the extra money that you want to spend on something of quality.

I am between a 3 and a 4 on this rating, because I wasn’t able to use the full functionality of the keyboard due to Corsair’s poor iCue integration and even worse customer service. The keyboard itself feels very solid and has some heft the frame, which I prefer.

Has a good deal of additional buttons, including multimedia and volume adjustment. The iCue scrollwheel is the only piece of hardware that seems a bit flimsy. To appreciate the full functionality of this keyboard, you must install the iCue software.

This would allow you to assign macros, adjust rob, create profiles, etc. Unfortunately I should have did my research on this software prior to my purchase, and saw the multitude of issues (both comparability and functionality) with iCue.

Long story short, after installing the iCue software, anytime I launched it with the keyboard plugged in I would get the BSOD. When customer service finally responds to my help ticket (3 day wait time between each of their responses) they are of no help at all.

Ended up returning the board since it shouldn’t be worth the headache. Was hoping to be able to utilize the multimedia buttons and macros, but I’ll be going back to my Ducky which doesn’t have all of these bells and whistles but has never given me any issues.

I was considering whether or not to get this keyboard for weeks. The high price point was off-putting, and some people saying it was too sensitive for typing nearly convinced me not to get it. But I decided to take a chance since it was $50 off for Black Friday.

And buying it through Best Buy meant they offered extended holiday returns through January in case I didn’t like it. Soon as I had it all plugged in, I was immediately impressed by the functionality.

Pulled up ICue to replace the unicorn poop stock RGB pattern, which was actually really easy to configure. If you’ve ever used ICue before (which you have if you own other Corsair products), then configuring this keyboard is no different than any other product.

If this is your first Corsair product, ICue 4 is even easier to use than previous versions. I don’t think you’ll have much trouble figuring it out honestly. Pulled up a free online typing test and easily got 100+ WPM with 98% accuracy.

Not sure what people were complaining about with getting extra keystrokes or whatever. I tried simulating resting my fingers on the keys and even applying the slightest pressure possible and it actually didn’t produce any unwanted keystrokes.

If you are just a heavy-handed person, maybe you should learn to hold your hands off the keys if that’s really an issue for you? Just saying. This wasn’t an issue for me. I was surprised to discover that it required two USB connections from my computer, the cable from the keyboard literally splits into two USB ports at the end.

Wasn’t expecting this. Sure it has a USB port on the back of the keyboard, but what’s the point? I didn’t gain any ports from that. That’s the only thing I don’t like so far. Overall, I’m impressed and glad I took the chance.

Black Friday helped reduce the price point and typing wasn’t any more difficult than on my last keyboard, a Logitech 602. The quality of this K100 is definitely a big step up from that. My two concerns, price and typing, were both better than expected.

And after trying it out in a game (Black Ops Cold War), I can safely say the gaming performance is a great experience. Can’t say much for the long-term durability yet, but my impressions after the first weekend are extremely positive.

Take the “top reviews” with a grain of salt. The few voices tend to be the loudest. If you look at the reviews, more than 80% are 5 star. Chances are, you’ll have a great experience with this keyboard.

I love this keyboard. I didn’t think I’d like it as much as I do but since it’s low profile it works really will with my setup. The keys are very responsive/sensitive (which is great for the way I game) and the LEDs look amazing when used with both their own software and the third party software I use (SignalRGB).

Couldn’t ask for a better wired keyboard.

I bought this gaming mechanical keyboard when it was $99. 00 plus tax the swith dont make a lot nice and I am fine with that and they are very responsive with short travel distance. I game and the keyboard won me!.

This Corsair K68 is a spendy keyboard, and as such you would expect that it would be high-quality. The keys are no “clicky” but they have a nice tactile smoothness to them. Typing is responsive and I haven’t experienced any ghosting (yet).

I type all day, so, for me it’s been a good keyboard. The light display has several preset light shows, or, you can turn it off completely – all through the Function key and a number combination. The iCUE software seems to be aimed more at gamers, and while I do play games (I’m a developer), it’s not to the extent where I want custom macros (so I uninstalled iCUE).

I upgraded from a Thermaltake keyboard that suffered major ghosting problems – I exchanged the keyboard 3 times in it’s 5 year warranty – which is ridiculous – but at least Thermaltake DID exchange it.

I can feel a difference between the Thermaltake and the Corsair – the Corsair feeling a lot “smoother” for lack of a better description. It’s a solid, well-made keyboard.

Here’s the reminder of what the different Cherry MX key switches do per color: Cherry MX Red – Has the same actuation force as MX Brown’s (lowest out of the three). being so light weighting allows for more rapid actuation = great for gaming.

What these aren’t terrific for is typing… there’s zero tactile feedback. Cherry MX Brown – Has the same actuation force as MX Red’s (lowest out of the three). light weighting = great for gaming. In addition to light actuation force, these have non-clicky tactile feedback, making it good for typing as well without a ton of click noise.

Cherry MX Blue – Has tactile feedback and produces an audible “click” sound… excellent for typing. Has a heavier actuation force… so not ideal for gaming. So while this K68 comes configured with Cherry MX Red key switches (awesome for gaming), I’m actually using the keyboard at my office at work.

I don’t have any issues typing on it on a daily basis. It’s mostly plastic (rather than metal on the K70). but that’s okay… I’m only using it in the office. I’ve destroyed the space-bar on other cheapo office workstation keyboards… so I’m hoping that the K68 can stand up to my typing abuse.

The Corsair K70 RGB Pro is my first Corsair product with RGB lighting – but not my first Corsair product! In fact, Corsair can blame themselves for it taking so long for me to try out their RGB – my PSU and CPU cooler have proven to be exceptionally well made and I haven’t needed to replace them! Anyway, as a result I haven’t used iCue before so I have now installed RGB lighting software from seemingly every major brand on my PC at some point.

Physically, the K70 RGB Pro is a solid feeling keyboard with a brushed aluminum deck, PBT double-shot keys, and a pretty neat little volume roller on the upper right side (and actual media control keys below the volume roller).

Build quality is very favorable vs some other major keyboard brands I have used over the last few years – in particular the PBT keys are a big upgrade from keyboards I’ve used that are priced much higher than this Corsair.

Maybe Corsair is taking a look at the aftermarket and hobbyist keyboards because this is something so many people do to customize keyboards which come with ABS keys. My K70 RGB Pro has the MX Speed Silvers which are very clearly a “gaming” keyswitch – a reasonable amount of activation force but very minimal activation travel.

I found this to be a very good balance even for regular productivity use – while it’s not as pleasant to type on as a clicky “Blue” key, the Speed Silvers in the K70 RGB Pro are better than I expected for regular typing.

For gaming, they are incredible! The low travel shaves time off each keypress allowing you to react very quickly in-game. Coupled with the insane polling rate (up to 8000 hz) you are getting the fastest reaction time possible out of a keyboard.

I was concerned that the 8000 hz USB polling rate would be a CPU burden, but on a gaming PC with 5800H CPU the iCue software is using less CPU than a major competitor’s software is for their RGB mouse mat.

The RGB lighting of the K70 RGB Pro is absolutely insane and incredibly customizable. The built in effects are super cool (I suggest turning off the initial “scenes” and taking a look at the lighting tab to see some more effects) – the effects on offer are easily the best I’ve seen from any of the major gaming brands.

For customization, you can create layers of different keys (like WASD or the numpad) which will have different lighting effects. My initial theme is using the “water color” effect as the bottom layer and the typing effect on top – when sitting there doing nothing, the water color effect plays.

I might use the numpad for my audio visualizer, but I’m not sure yet – there are so many choices! Corsair certainly isn’t alone in this kind of customizability, but I found iCue to be especially easy to use, and the keyboard itself must have some reasonable processing power under the hood because the per-key lighting animations seem to have a higher framerate than other keyboards I’ve used.

It should really say something that when trying to record a video for this review, I was genuinely concerned that I needed to use 60 FPS recording to capture the effects properly – it really is impressive! Overall, definitely incredibly happy with this keyboard.

If you have been interested in jumping onto the 60% keyboard bandwagon, then this is one you should have on your radar. The K70 Pro is the only wireless mini keyboard that Corsair offers, so if you are already a fan of Corsair’s line of keyboards and want to go mini you just need to stop now and buy.

My model came with MX Silver Speed switches, but the beauty of this deck is that you can customize not only the keycaps, but also the switches to your heart’s content. You can buy keycaps and switches from Corsair’s website or use any keycap that will fit or any Cherry MX switch.

Even if you don’t want to customize it with additional purchases, at the very least try out the spacebar that’s included in the box, it allows you to see 3 zones of RGB! You can also customize the “accent bar” which is a removable piece at the front of the keyboard (where the power switch and usb-c port are located).

As of right now the only option available on Corsair’s website for the accent bar is in white but you could paint it. The iCue software (available for macOS or Windows) lets you customize the keyboard’s RGB lighting or remap keys.

I usually do not spend much time with the RGB lighting options because every gaming peripheral has it these days but this keyboard can do some pretty cool tricks and the 360 degree light bar with it’s 28 LED zones makes for some pretty awesome effects.

A cool trick is that you can set up the lighting effects and key assignments in the hardware so that the keyboard will still work the way you want even if iCue is not installed. You can store as many profiles as the 8MB of onboard storage will allow.

If you can’t install iCue for whatever reason there are keyboard shortcuts via the FN key to change the lighting effects. There’s actually a lot you can do with this keyboard without iCue. Most of it is achieved with the FN key on the right hand side which allows you to do the things such as moving the mouse cursor (this works surprisingly well!), changing volume, hardware profile, wireless connection, F1-F12 keys, etc.

One of the most important FN key operations is the arrow keys, which are missing dedicated keys but can be used with a combination of FN and I, J, K, L. Unfortunately, I wish Corsair had used H for Left arrow instead of I so the keys would be the same as using the Unix vi command line editor which is muscle memory for me but.

oh wait, I can simply remap the keys to my liking, problem solved! The downsides are minimal, if any. First, the keyboard itself is thick. From the thickest part of the keyboard deck to the desk is 7/8 of an inch thick and the entire thickness from top of keycaps to desk is an inch and a half.

It’s not any thicker than other mini keyboards out there but I’m not sure why it has to be this thick. What is hiding in all that space? It makes it uncomfortable to use for hours of productivity without a wrist pad (which it does not include and would negate the reason for getting such a small keyboard in the first place).

It also makes it a tad bit more difficult to travel with but still much easier than a full size or even TKL deck. I would just like to see it 20-30% thinner next time. The only other thing is with only 61 keys you will be using the FN key often to access the arrow keys or insert / delete key and until you have them memorized you won’t be able to see these functions printed on the keys at night.

Only the primary key function is illuminated with RGB. On the flip side, it would look very busy if they were lit up and if you end up changing the mapping as I have it wouldn’t make sense anyway. After a few days of use, I discovered that if you have iCue installed there is a handy guide in the tray that will describe the default FN key mapping (but not remappings) Pros: Corsair 2.

25. 155 or later – Not all may know you can pair multiple Corsair products to one receiver. Which is awesome so you only need to worry about one if you travel like me. I have my Dark Core RGB, Virtuoso XT, and now this K70 paired to the same receiver.

Overall, as far as 60% boards go, this is likely the best. I use it when traveling as I am always on the go and never leave without my gaming laptop. I wish it was a bit thinner, but not a deal breaker.

While it’s great for gaming, I find it less appealing for programming or design work where I am already using key combo shortcuts and with 40 keys missing it’s more cumbersome then I’d like but just need more time.

If you are a traveling gamer, have little deskspace, or simply just want your hands closer together when using a mouse this is the keyboard for you.

I have this keyboard with Silent Cherry Red MX switches. I wanted a mechanical keyboard that made the least amount of noise possible with good feel to the keys. This fit the bill for me personally. It’s a large full sized keyboard that’s quite heavy.

No need to worry about it sliding away from you. It has a knurled texture on the spacebar which is a love it or hate it kind of feeling. It also came with a wrist rest, key remover tool, and extra WASD keys that are curved to allow easier engagement during gaming.

I don’t personally use them, but it’s nice to have the choice. My keyboard also has RGB, along with a windows button lock out quick key and a RGB brightness level on the keyboard itself. The iCUE software is pretty good, and even allows you to adjust the color of each key individually if you so desire.

It’s a durable keyboard, that’s ergonomic, easy to use and not over priced for what you get in my opinion. I would definitely buy this keyboard again.

This keyboard is based on the Cherry MX switches, I got the red one. They also have a Cherry MX Brown version but not blue. The keys are open and raised but they are not sitting on top of an exposed plate like the K70 keyboard but rather sits within a low profile frame.

Cleaning the keyboard is easier than most keyboards but can’t compare to how easy it is to clean the K70. They keyboard came in a well-designed, thick cardboard box. Alongside with the keyboard, Corsair supplies a very basic manual, a keycap removal tool and two sets of gaming keycaps.

The first set is supposed to be for FPS gamers and the second for MOBA gamers. Both sets are contoured and textured. Two keycaps, the W and the D, exist in both sets but have different contours as a result.

From what I have been able to find out this keyboard uses the Cherry MX Red Silent switches. Corsair has an exclusive on this switch at the moment so if you want this type of switch Corsair is the only place to get it at the moment.

They STRAFE is a regular sized keyboard with a standard layout. The only new keys are two keys at the top right, one controls the lighting and the other locks the windows key. Media functions for volume and track controls have been inserted as secondary commands in the F5-F12 keys, and are accessible by holding down the FN key.

There are no dedicated media keys or the much-loved metallic volume control wheel that is found on their higher tier keyboards. In terms of quality the strafe rates pretty high compared to other keyboards I have used but can’t match that of the K70 and K95 keyboards.

The keys are very sturdy and the cross supports reduce wobbliness. The feel of the keys is pretty similar to standard Cherry MX Red switches but to me they feel ever so slightly harder to press. I feel that the STRAFE is a quality keyboard at a fair price but has some cons compared to the higher priced K70 model.

No wrist rest and no dedicated media keys might be a big deal for some people.

The keyboard arrived and was easily set up, the wrist rest was easy to clip in and the keyboard was relatively easy to connect to the PC. I will say that the cable does not detach at the keyboard and terminates at the other end with 2 large USB connectors, one for the keyboard itself and one to act as a pass through.

The cable itself is stiff, thick and not braided; for me threading through and behind my desk was a bit of a job. Once connected the default color on the keyboard is red apart from the WSAD and arrow keys which are white.

In order to get full color and macro control, the CUE software needs to be downloaded and installed. It does take up 161mb of hard drive space, something to think about if your main drive is a small SSD.

Once the software is installed the keyboard began to glimmer like a 70’s disco. It really was beautiful, even if it was functionally useless. Everyone in the house remarked on the multi colored light show.

I confess it was actually mesmerizing! Corsair have a number of light profiles that can be downloaded from their forums and installed for a little fun. When it comes to the performance of the keyboard I have mixed feelings.

It reminds me a little of the first Corsair mechanical keyboard I used the K60, although this came with red MX switches. The issue with this keyboard was that Corsair didn’t use all mechanical switches, some keys used cheaper membrane switches and this meant that depressing the keys felt different depending on the key pressed.

This keyboard, although composed of 100% brown MX switches, feels different when certain keys are pressed, the letters and numbers and F keys feel the same, but any of the double sized keys along with the space bar have a different feel and sound to them, almost mushy.

Perhaps my keyboard is faulty, but there is a difference between the Corsair keyboard and my older Coolermaster Quickfire with brown MX switches. Build quality on the Corsair is excellent, the feel of the keys is top class and a 2 year warranty is icing on the cake.

The crazy light effects are impressive at the moment, perhaps they will begin to get on my nerves eventually. I love this keyboard, just a little concerned about the feel of some of the larger keys compared to the others.

Still with a full 2 year warranty, I can afford not to be too concerned currently.

I have two desktop PCs in my man cave. I had already had a Corsair Strafe with Cherry brown keys on the oldest one and loved it. The one I am rating is just like the first one. There are keyboards and there are KEYBOARDS.

There is no comparison to the feel of the keys of a mechanical keyboard and Corsair Strafes are simply fantastic. You can read online all about the way the keys operate but you have to type on one and experience it for yourself.

I admit for a poor boy they are a bit pricey but most everything that is better simply costs more in our world. I like the lighted keys especially when I am in dim light and using the hunt and peck method.

Typing by way of touch for the most part the lights are not needed. I don’t game so I can’t tell you anything about using it for games. For everyday typing they just can’t be beat. I have no personal or financial interest in Corsair or any company (retired), I am just a happy user.

VS the “RGB 2” K70 this one is about half an inch thinner with 1 mm travel vs 1. 2mm if I recall correctly. I love typing on this and although i bought it for gaming I’m now using it for work–so buying another one for gaming as well (I already have two so about to buy third).

The low travel works amazingly for a wicked-fast typing speed. The extra keys it comes with are great–I removed one of the ones I hit with my thumb and replaced with a higher-rising one so now I can hit it easier.

The second USB is only a pass-through. This absolutely DOES NOT need two USBs to work. I haver one unplugged this very minute and it’s working great. The iCue software is pretty tricky to figure out I found.

The lighting vs hardware profiles took me a minute to get my head around and I found them a bit confusing (lighting profile works when icue is running but if you don’t have it running you use the hardware profile, of which three can be saved to the keyboard).

That’s why I’m dinging on ease of use. There is a soft pinging sound on one of the two of these I have but only noticeable in a very quiet room with no ambient noise. BTW this works on an xbox series S perfectly and you can use the “lock” key to cut out the windows key.

On a PS5 it also works great but you need to switch the keyboard to BIOS Mode (no big deal).

The K70 mk. 2 a very nice keyboard. The keys feel great. These are the Cherry MX Brown keys –my favorite. These feel like different from my other Corsair Keyboards with Cherry MX Browns though. As mentioned in some other reviews, the keys actuate very lightly –that’s not normal for Cherry MX Browns.

You should normally need some travel, and feel a click. Sometimes just resting my hands on the keyboard, I’ll produce some keystrokes. These are also a little quieter than some of my other keyboards, which I like –but they’re supposed to be the same Cherry MX Browns as my other keyboards.

Not sure what’s up with that. Other than that, it’s exactly what I want in a keyboard. The RGB lighting is nice. The iCue software works fine. It spoils me –I can’t go back to membrane keyboards now.

I am very happy with my purchase of the Corsair K70 MK2 Keyboard. The MX brown switches have just the right amount click for me, without being too much. The keyboard feels premium in construction, further emphasised with it’s aluminium top surface.

The add on palm rest is actually quite good and mounts positively to the keyboard. The wheel type volume control is excellent, again it has a premium feel. The software was a little confusing to understand at first, but once mastered gives almost limitless possibilities.

Each key can be individually assigned a colour, or in groups as selected by you. There are moving colour effects available as well. The colours themselves are vivid and rich. I definitely recommend this keyboard.

I have a K68 MX red the predecessor of these. 2 problems to be aware of: 1/ The buttons (particularly the Ctrl key) do not last long with intensive use – they break. They can however be replaced at appreciable cost.

2/ The big one: you need to run the Corsair iCUE software to get the backlighting to work on their keyboards. This has been buggy from the start (eg the caps lock and num lock lights do not work after 24 hours running – without machine reboot).

The bugs have got worse with iCUE “”upgrades”” / updates – not better. The iCUE software is definitely bloatware as well – 850 MB !! – to run a keyboard this is excessive. I have finally had enough of the buggy behaviour and replaced it with a Cooler Master K350 from PBTech – which doesn’t require any bloatware to run it – yay !.

I was excited to try this new keyboard and hoped that it would be a worthy replacement for my aging (3 year old) Razer Huntsman Elite V1 who’s volume control has long since stopped working properly. Upon unboxing I noticed that it just wasn’t near as heavy as my Razer and didn’t feel good in the hand.

I set it down on my desk and after plugging it in I tried typing on it and it just felt cheap and the switches appear to be exposed underneath the keys. Then I was greeted by difficulty in storing my lighting profile plus it caused icue to drop my dark core pro se profile.

So I wipe both devices and start again and was able to store the profiles and thought that I was getting somewhere. I then started playing some videos and upon tapping the spacebar to pause I noticed that my video did not pause and was doing some strange things so I tapped the spacebar again.

This time I noticed that it had stuck in the bottomed out position. I tried a persistent tapping and prying on it and was able to get it free. I then started tapping on it to see if it would do it again and lo and behold it stuck in the down position again.

I immediately unplugged it and put it back into its box to return to Best Buy. This kb cost far too much for this kind of poor quality and I’m going to get the Huntsman Elite V2. If you’re buying a kb or anything else do yourself a favor and try to go by the store and put your hands on them before you buy.

No I would not recommend this keyboard to anybody.

I absolutely love this keyboard. I have the MX speed. Some people don’t like this switch because it’s so responsive, and they have a tendency to double (triple) hit the keys. I had a K70 Vengeance previously for years, so I’m used to fast action keys, but the K95 with MX speed is even faster, and it still took some time to get used to it.

Being a touch typist, that’s taken me about a month. Part of the difficulty is in the placement of the six macro keys on the left side of the keyboard. When I went for the “escape” key, I kept hitting the “G1” macro key.

I’m still working on that problem. It’s a matter of getting used to positioning your hands on the “F” and “J” keys. Thanks to the bumps on these keys, I can do it without having to look at the keyboard.

I installed dampers which of course, decreased switch travel. The dampers don’t decrease the noise much, because the keyboard was already quiet. I’m a little of a pounder and the decreased travel has forced me to use finger action more.

As a result, I’m getting used to typing on the K95, and my speed and accuracy is improving. I don’t have the double hit problem others have complained about, probably because I was used to the K70 Vengeance, which had red switches installed.

I’ve never liked wrist rests. They’re the first thing that gets thrown out. That is until Cosair provided the wrist rest with the K95. It’s a pleasure to use. It’s soft, comfortable, anchors my hands, and improves my speed and accuracy.

I haven’t done much with the iCue program, but I’m looking forward to programming the macro keys. All in all, I rate this as a 5-star keyboard. If you’re a touch typist and can get used to the fast action MX Speed switches, you’ll absolutely love this keyboard.

This keyboard has everything I need and more. The mechanical keys are super fast and have the typical clicking you would expect. The double shot keycaps allow the RGB to show through nicely and the extra keycaps for game playing make this keyboard perfect for gaming.

The roller volume control is something that you dont realize how nice it is until you have one. Because the keyboard has a pass through USB connector on it you need to connect two USB-A connectors to your pc so you really dont save any ports.

The iCue software has a lot of options but its not the most intuitive app. After spending some time with it I was able to get the RGB patterns I liked. The palm rest is very soft and comfortable compared to the hard rubberized one that is included on other Corsair keyboards.

Between the six macro keys and the five profiles I was able to customize the keyboard to meet all my requirements.

I bought this for heavy writing/typing today after trying almost every brand flagship model at Best Buy, my very first mechanical keyboard purchase since the 1990s. These are my thoughts on the K95 Full Size XT model with CherryMX Silver/Speed keys.

All keyboards have a few quirks. This one barely has any. Solid, tasteful chassis and high quality materials used throughout; the CherryMX keys selected for this model are super easy to type on (and most symbols on the keycaps are clear, though some seem to have escaped from Alien vs Predator – like the semicolon/colon, what’s up Corsair?).

Note however: they actuate without actually going the full distance or clicking at the bottom. This will be different if you get the brown or blue or red CherryMX, etc. It’s a little weird if you’re used to older clicky keys, takes getting used to given the lightness of the tactile feedback, you might want to try this on a working machine before you buy – but definitely faster and more efficient than the traditional feedback types, and you get used to the system and start loving the feel within about 2 hours of use.

Productivity raised, no doubt, outside of gaming. The Volume knob is heavy and well made. I didn’t install any software, and the media keys worked out of box. Big thumbs up. The keys are rated at 100 Million Keystrokes.

That is phenomenal and more than what the OEM pictures show – this is a high priced keyboard after all. You do require two USB inputs to your computer (one for the keyboard, one for the passthrough).

Make sure you have these available if you are using a laptop. This has been a public service announcement.

Love this keyboard. ‘ I had not been sold on a mechanical keyboard before, but when my older keyboard started to fail, at the urging of friends, I decided to try a mechanic keyboard and our based this one.

Likes?: Previous experience with Corsair. Love the overall design and integration with ICUE software (Corsair’s software suite for their items). I like the keyboard extension, which has a nice feel. I LOVE the metal Dislikes?: I wish this had a braided cord, instead of the regular cord like everything else (reduces the premium feel).

After a number of months, the keyboard extension started to fray on the corner, I did NOT like that. The keys also went bad as well. However, `Corsair replaced the entire keyboard so I greatly appreciated that warranty and their rapid response.

Use?: This is very nice to use. To be honest, after dealing with non-mechanical keyboards for a while, I was initially not liking this mechanical set-up. If you advent used it before it takes getting used to! This goes for productivity uses like typing.

I hated this at first, but after giving it time and use, I cannot imagine using anything else now frankly! I love it. The clunky feel is reassuring for my heavy-typing. The ICUE software enables some cool lighting choices and this integrates well with my other Corsair items.

It is a nice change of pace to follow around with different lighting patterns, I also like this an be used for macros and things, like pressing a button and having a certain program open. This is not easy, and it takes some fooling around.

I figure if you are looking at this you are probably pretty savvy as to doing things on the computer, but it isn’t a simple one button deal either. Overall: Initially expensive, but well worth it. I love this keyboard.

I love the look and feel and it makes tying a pleasure and gaming fun. Good stuff.

Ordered this as a second full keyboard for work (from home). I can’t have anything other than linear switches for fear of driving my family nuts – and my other “Red” switch type keyboards I’ve used had very loud keycap bottom-out noise.

This keyboard with the cheap cherry viola switches still works fantastic for linear and sound – are far less noisy when bottoming out than most other keyboards I’ve tried. The only gripes I have are the actuation on this key leaves you fatigued if using for long periods, and the switches themselves having only 4 parts feel hollow (with a bit of plastic sliding on plastic sound) and have this somewhat grating hollow spring-back sound to them on let-up.

You get used to it. Just something to consider. I’d recommend trying one out in store if they have a display unit. Otherwise fantastic features (light-weight, rgb lighting, standard double-shot PBT keycaps that are replaceable, mostly quiet) and customization for a basic gaming/work mechanical with linear switches.

I would def recommend checking out.

Very overpriced for mediocre keyboard. Lighting is not a pro any more as there are better options for less money on Amazon. Pros: Rollover is fluid, no delay there. Looks nice. Comfy and removable wrist rest.

Cons: Keys are silent and too easy to depress. No feedback (audible or tactile) that a key was pressed, which caused my main issue – I can type 80 WPM, but this keyboard slowed that down, because I had no way of knowing (other than double checking the screen) what I was typing or if it was correct.

So, a lot of double-check and editing needed with this keyboard. I couldn’t lean in to see something closer on my screen or anything without it causing a computer seizure because so many keys were pressed at once.

Since there is no way of knowing, more than a dozen times during my weekend using this piece I would look up and see 1000 “S”s on the screen, content erased, accuracy – bah, forget about it. I returned the Corsair keyboard and bought a Logitech G910 instead.

UPGRADE! Completely worth it.

This keyboard is fantastic. It is a really well built, beefy manly keyboard that is laid out nicely and can take a bit of punishment. It has some great features, I am really enjoying the palm rest and MX Brown keys, really nice to use with just the right amount of feedback.

The RGB is a nice touch with adjustable brightness and the ability to switch between different profiles at the push of a button is super handy. You can reassign or remap keys through iCUE and I really like the programmable G keys, I have mine mapped in the Elgato Stream Deck software to run various commands in Davinci resolve streamlining my video editing experience.

The only downside is the keyboard does utilize 2 USB ports if you want to run the keyboard and RGB lighting although with that said you do have a USB port included in the top of the keyboard. I do highly recommend this product, it is not a cheap keyboard but you do get what you pay for.

I had a cheap knockoff mechanical keyboard for about 6 months and a number of keys started failing to register intermittently or failed altogether. So I found the Corsair K95 Platinum XT, read a few reviews and decided to try it.

I went with the Cherry MX Blue version and they are deliciously clicky, but not overly loud. SUPER satisfying to the touch. The RGB wasn’t something I cared about but with the very flexible iCUE application I was able to create exactly the level of plain white backlighting I wanted.

Brilliant keyboard. Only a month old at this point but the metal faceplate is very nice, and although the bottom is plastic it seems heavy and well made. Even the included wrist rest is nice enough that I didn’t just leave it in the box like I have with many others over the years.

All in all, a fantastic keyboard at a relatively reasonable price.

I’ve owned this keyboard for about 3 years already and I would recommend just buying one of the cheaper ones from logictech. Considering I payed $200 at the time in 2019 at the end of the day its just a keyboard and it’s really not worth the price and there a much better and more competitive styles in the market.

I also had to change the caps to double shot caps since the original ones it came with would get very stained and greased out all the time. It’s a good keyboard but it’s not $200 good. I would consider making the keyboard water proof and dust resistant aswell as adding key caps that don’t attract greas as easily as the ones they currently comes with!.

It looks and feels excellent quality, it feels precision made compared to standard keyboards. It’s got all the functions you could need and probably more. It feels sturdy, the wrist support is comfy and very easy to connect.

Its heavy enough to not move on your desktop. The USB port is really useful for plugging in your mouse. The negatives are about you rather than the device: the keys seem higher and more sensitive than normal and so take some getting used to, the G buttons down the left may be useful but it means that the top left button is G1 rather than Escape, which again takes some getting used to.

It needs two USB ports on the PC, but you swap one for the mouse. Then there is the cost, expensive. Ultimately, if you want great quality and have the spare money then go for it, but if you want a keyboard that does the job you can get one for a fraction of this price.

Most gaming keyboards account for people who use the arrow keys and remove the right windows key for the lichting function key. MSI have gone with keeping both windows keys and replacing the key next to right ctrl which is the run key for anyone using arrow keys.

Because its now a specific key for lighting and pressing it and any arrow key changes the lighting no game will accept it as a valid key. Currently using r ctrl r shift enter 0 1 4 and 7 for halo and you cant stretch to right windows key as thats a special key and wont be accepted.

Basically if you play with arrow keys dont buy this. Shame as it seemed a nice keyboard but ruined by focussing on gimmicky lighting rather than the important bits.

2 years ago i had a stroke with left me with no feeling and tremors in one hand. This has made typing considerably more difficult. I’ve tried a variety of keyboards and none fixed the problem. This one however has eradicated it completely! Really good when it works, however.

This was my third one of these. The first two had dead keys. Literally didn’t work or only worked when you pressed two keys for some reason. This was why i’ve knocked a star off as they clearly have no QC/QA at corsair.

Back to the good points, it syncs up with my system lighting, the Macros keys do what you’d expect them too and you can make ANY key a macro key. Never type with the numpad? Remap them! I have a streamdeck and this keyboard integrates with that well.

As with other keyboards that have USB 2. 0 passthrough the cable is on the unwieldy side! It’s quite thick and unbending. The wristrest however is excellent and very soft. The keyboard comes with sets of extra keys for WASD, MMO keys so you can’t make these stand out from the rest of the keyboard but as the AXON keys are cherry compatible you can also buy a set of your preferred keys in whatever style you choose.

Pudding caps look quite nice! All in all you’d be hard pressed to find a better alternative except maybe the Steelseries Apex Pro. So get this or get that!.
