Best Cordless Phones Consumer Reports (2024 Updated)

I bought this phone to replace the older Panasonic phones that I bought over 7 years ago. First of all, these new phones do NOT even come close to performing like my old units. The sound quality is not nearly as good, The hands free mode requires one to be quite close by, or the person on the other end can’t clearly hear me.

I can switch to one of my older phones and everything works much better. The new phones were advertised to have many hours of operation and standby before having to be recharged. The batteries have to be recharged nearly every day, and that is after very little use.

My older Panasonics would go sometimes four or five days between charges. I am having to charge these new phones two or three times more often than the older ones. The range on the new phones is not nearly as good as the older ones.

The older phones had a belt clip that was very handy, they deleted the clip on the newer models. The display stays on too long after a call is finished, unless it is placed in the charging cradle. this doesn’t help the batter charge any either! Overall, I am greatly disappointed in Panasonic’s new version.

If I could buy their older model, I would be very satisfied. “Newer”, “Improved” are terms that absolutely don’t apply to these newer units. Especially don’t believe their specifications about extended battery charge intervals.

This is the best phone system for simplicity. I have had this system for several years and needed to add two additional handsets to the system. Buying additional handsets was expensive, so I just bought another basic set, deregistered the new handsets from the base they came with and then registered the new handsets to my old base.

Worked like a charm, and now I have four handsets in my home that work off of the same base unit. These phones lack a earphone jack or pocket clip, which would make them perfect. The sound quality is really good.

Highly recommended.

November 2017 I purchased the Panasonic Panasonic KX-TGD512, and this model appears to be almost identical. All of these Panasonic models appear to “operate” identically. I’m always looking online to get quick easy directions on “how to” block a “range of numbers” or free up more space to block new numbers, as I quickly used up the 150 numbers I was able to block using the phone.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ability to block numbers! After you add a number to be blocked (simple easy steps,) it rings one time then cuts them off! Today, for the third time, I added a “range” of numbers to block–I’ve been getting a lot of caller ID numbers that start with 011, I decided that because nobody I know or care to speak with has a telephone number starting with ZERO, that I would simply add that to the list, now anytime that “fake number” is put into that spammers calling system, they will be cut off–BAM! After about two years, because I tend to hit the off button multiple times when I hang up the phone (I don’t know why, I’m weird) the red writing on the off button is about 85% worn off, and the green talk button is about 40% worn off.

Maybe that is why they came up with a new model that looks almost identical to mine, maybe they’ve upgraded the imprinting of the answer on/off buttons. Regardless, I would recommend this phone to EVERYONE.

Stop unwanted calls in their tracks! There are companies out there you can pay a few bucks a month to that will block unwanted calls for you–and their system works just the same, your telephone WILL ring one time, then disconnect them.

When you fill up the block feature, just go in to the first 25 numbers you blocked and delete them, those people gave up a year ago! I went through my block list and noticed a specific area code coming up in my spam calls and went in and deleted all of THOSE numbers, then simply added that area code to the block list, thereby freeing up about 25 new slots for blocking.

So if you notice a lot of your spam calls are coming from a specific area code and you don’t know anyone with that area code, just block the entire range of numbers! Anyway, after enjoying the feature today once again, I thought, you really ought to let others know how great this phone is! So there you have it! Oh, I also love the ability to call my son who is located too far away on the other side of the house to just “yell out to” I simply use the intercom on the phone and buzz him.

ONE CON about that is: the intercom that buzzes the other phones inside the house so you can call a family member on the phone who is in another room–is ALSO the phone locator, meaning, if you can’t find your phone and you push the locate button to help you find the phone you laid down somewhere–it is going to buzz ALL the phones, therefore, if my son is taking a nap in his room and I buzz the phone, I will wake him up.

And that locator button STILL beeps even if you have the ringer turned off. I finally learned to stop doing that when he is napping–when he is napping if I can’t find the phone, I just call the phone with my cell to locate it.

(his ringer is ALWAYS off, it is in his room simply to allow me to page him rather than get a little exercise by walking to the other end of the house. (heaven forbid!).

The phone works great. My old cordless phone had some noise interference and this one doesn’t. I also like the features of this phone. I am able to block numbers, which I couldn’t on my old phone. I just wish there was a way to put the phone in “do not disturb” mode with less steps.

my old phone I just had to press and hold the “quiet” key for 1 second to turn this feature on/off. This phone requires multiple steps to accomplish that. It does everything I need it to do and it doesn’t cost too much.

Overall I’m happy with it.

Still giving this 5 stars. comparing to my burgundy colored one i have had for years! The buttons are smaller and it does bug me they have the speaker button under the star. where on the other phone @ a different place and did not bug you where they put it.

this one have to make sure do not click it when you are needing to press the star button. Burgundy phone buttons wore off one phone and the other phone was fine my mom’s phone was fine but the other handset the #7 was stuck on it! This sound quality is not as loud.

why did they change that. important! When i bought this Silver one. thought it would be Silver on the back. not white. So far not showing the dirt. I mean we do have clean hands. but when answering the phone – we are not going to go wash our hands.

so we do not get this phone dirty. So far no need to do that. lol Hmmm why 5 stars. guess this phone is fine. probable still lucky they make these phones. Still trying to hold on to old technology instead of focusing us all to have cell phones.

The guys have cell phone (for 3 yrs)-mom did not get one. Yep just what i wanted was another BiLL! Number keypad needs to be a little bigger but if you text alot. will not bother you! Hope the numbers do not wear off ~ Hope this heLps!.

I was replacing a Panasonic land line I bought in 2000. I thought this one would be better and have more features, but I was wrong. The handset that goes with the answering system base kept falling out; the ringer was not very loud; the ring tones were irritating and I returned it.

(I gave it two stars because it looked good.

I love so many things about this Panasonic phone bundle! It comes with 2 extra handsets that can answer/make calls remotely without being plugged into an rj-11 outlet. You can buy up to an additional 3 phones if needed for additional rooms.

You can talk to others in your house thru the intercom on all the handsets. The answering machine messages can be played thru the handset or at the base and it’s easy to see how many messages people have left you with the red number display.

You can store up to 100 contacts so that you don’t have to look for the person’s phone number. The talking caller id can even tell you who’s calling or you can turn that feature off. My favorite feature is you simply press call block button near the bottom of the phone to block annoying telemarketers or relatives you’d rather not speak to from calling back! It also can be set to block calls that show no phone number! The illuminated display is clear to see even for the elderly, however they may struggle with how to work all the features of this phone and it’s initial setup unless they are tech savvy.

The ringer is plenty loud and is adjustable with the handset. You also can listen to your answering machine messages remotely with a remote code while away from home. These phones use rechargeable batteries so don’t forget to return the headsets to the charging cradles when they show a low battery.

I highly recommend this phone bundle!.

The Panasonic KX-TG3833M 3-Handset Expandable Cordless Phone System with Answering System is very easy to set up and use. We already had a Panasonic cordless phone system but our house is large and we wanted to be able to access the phone from multiple rooms.

I followed the directions and set up the new cordless phone system and tried it out immediately to make sure it worked considering we already had cordless phones. They were compatible. I only use one answering machine so I just turned off the other answering machine.

The system is very user friendly. It came with 6 rechargeable batteries and it was easy to put them in each phone. The phones did come with clips if you wanted to attach a phone to your belt. It also came with a mount base unit so you can attach it to the wall.

I didn’t want to attach it to the wall because I feared the handheld phone might get knocked off and end up being harmed. It’s not very big so not so cumbersome to keep on your counter. A feature that I really appreciate on these phones is the call blocking.

My other phones take a little maneuvering to do the call blocking whereas these phones have a button at the bottom that you can just push and the number is blocked. With all the robo calls we receive each day, this is a wonderful feature.

I would recommend this phone to a friend since I have always been very pleased with any Panasonic phones I have purchased.

This phone system tries to do everything in the world, hence is difficult to set up. But it allows you to block the phone numbers of 100 robocallers. I’m already getting calls from numbers I’ve blocked – one ring, then silence.

It’s heaven. Just wish the phone would block 1000 calls. And you can block from any instrument, not just from the call center. I especially like that each cordless phone (there are 5) announces twice, clearly, the name of the person or company that is calling.

And it also gives you more time to erase a call that is just coming in. I have to have a land line, as where I live the cell phone reception is terrible. This is a good addition to my home. I would definitely recommend this product, would just hope that others find the set-up process easier than I did.

My new Panasonic phone system has been installed for a month now giving me time to evaluate the performance and features. The sound is great. Crisp and clear. Not sure why several other reviewers rated the sound quality as poor.

I am a little hard of hearing and have no issues with the sound clarity or volume. Installation was snap compared to the AT&T phone system that I replaced. The Panasonic handsets come pre-paired which makes installation and setup a breeze.

I was able to install the whole system in 10 minutes. I am not the most technically astute person by any means. It was a snap navigating through the features and menu on either the base station or the handsets.

The menu and controls are super intuitive and easy to figure out. Panasonic really did their homework when they designed this phone. Navigating through menu options is a snap. One of the most important features to me is being able to read the display.

I have poor eyesight. The display contrast is excellent allowing easy viewing of the display even in a brightly lighted room. I have no problem reading the display even when the display backlight is off.

The battery life on the handsets appear to be fine. I used the phone for a 30 minute call and the battery level indicator did not budge off of fully charged. One feature that I really like is that the phones use AAA rechargeable off the shelf batteries.

These batteries are now cheap and easily obtainable. The phones come with batteries. The Panasonic phone system has many features. Three features that I find particularly useful for me is the one button call block feature.

This allows you to block “robo calls” etc. with the push of a button. You can block up to 300 numbers. The phones can be used as a room to room intercom system. This feature works very well. Some folks may find this useful.

I really like the audio caller ID feature. The phone will announce who is calling between the first couple of rings. The ID will also appear on the display as well. I am very pleased with the performance of my Panasonic phone system thus far.

No quirky issues. Performance is solid and straightforward. I highly recommend this system. I do not think you will be disappointed.

I researched all available products to block constant telemarketing robocalls. The reviews on this product were great, the price was reasonable, and I learned it is one of the few U. S. phone products to effectively block calls.

After two weeks, I am beyond grateful I found this Panasonic model — and it has accomplished everything I wanted it to do. Many people don’t know, but it will block any designated prefix or area code — and many scam calls come from the same area code.

You can block individual numbers, but quickly run up your allowable blocking limit. When you block area codes, you knock out many telemarketing scams with one punch. It’s a reasonable price for the peace, quiet and relief you get.

I thoroughly recommended the Panasonic KXTGF340B!.

I do love the new features on this phone set that I did not have before. It has a button to block a call, it is supposed to still have power if the power goes off, talking ID when calls come in (can hear who caller is if close to a handset instead of running for phone),and the handsets are a nice size.

The feature I do not like is the speakerphone. It is not loud enough when you use the speakerphone feature even when you put the volume to max. My other phone was better for that feature. Otherwise I am very happy with my phone.

I have been looking at this phone set for awhile now and am so glad I finally purchased! In addition to the set I ordered. My son ordered the rugged phone for me that is compatible with this phone set (insert flier of this phone came in my phone set).

The rugged phone is supposed to be waterproof, dust proof, shock resistant, has a flashlight on it and is a rugged phone that I have in my garage and can use by the pool. It floats if dropped in the pool.

Great addition to my new phones. I just wish I could have ordered through Hammacher Schlemmer for the lifetime warranty.

i have a 15 year old version of this but I wanted a better call block feature. Sadly, the older stuff was made better. Older remotes seem stronger signal-wise, newer remotes only had 600 mAh batteries, feel almost too light, and the older buttons were classy, the newer are a little cheaper but bigger.

They swapped the top and second row of the on, off, and speaker buttons. The voice clarity is no better but not meaningfully worse. I’m good with tech and no phone book entry transfer seemed to work.

But, the call block does work and is very easy to use, just press “call block” after an unwanted call and it will not repeat. Unfortunately, call block only works on the number and not the caller ID, too.

I’m keeping it and trying to be comfortable. Recommend it but keep your expectations modest.

Ok, my 5th Panasonic phone system and these have all the latest features. Call one button blocking with code required to finish the call. Total block of all numbers listed in the standard exclude bank and what you added.

Needed changes: Dial tone very loud and volume for speaker voice needs to be higher. A head set will fix most of these issues and any 2. 5MM headset with a microphone will work nicely. BT only works on base phone.

Unfortunately most base phones these days are at the cable modem which is never in a convenient location. If you are wiring a house when it is new/ bribe the electrician to make all com connections behind your media center and then run quality LAN and Telephone cable to each room from the media center wall.

Then run one RG-6 cable and one heavy duty telephone wire to your outside access point.

I bought the system to replace an existing older Panasonic system with limited call blocking. After activating the spam blocking, all incoming calls that were not in my contact phone #’s were blocked.

However, you can block individual unwanted callers. 2nd: My old wall mount base system had an access hole to tighten the bottom screw to firmly secure the base unit. The new base unit did not. It took a lot of time to screw in the bottom screw to secure the base firmly to the wall.

Each time you have to remove the base to make the adjustment. So far, the only two issues. Other than that, GREAT SYSTEM.

I love the compact nature of this handset and the fact that the antennas are hidden. It’s rather sleek and modern looking. I’ve been using this handset for the past several days and everyone can hear me loud and clear.

The white and gray dual-tone makes it attractive and neutral for any homeowner. I think the only con to this headset is that it only comes with two phones when most other sets come with four or more.

However, I didn’t dock any stars because it’s still a really good value. This item is amazing and I simply love how the manufacturer was able to produce such an awesome headset for the modern times. Anyhow, this product gets a double thumbs up for me because it works as advertised and I simply hope that the manufacturer will be able to produce more phones like this in the coming future!!.

So we couldn’t wait to set up this Vtech cordless phone system. We got this 6. 0 set in white. The handsets have caller Id and call waiting built into each handset. The range works really well, and for me that was a big question and plus when I was able to use them in my small business shop area.

I frequently have to go to the back of the shop or outside to assist other clients and need to have a reliable wireless set that not only has good reception, but can also reflect caller id and call waiting when I have a client on the line.

These also have a great light display and loud ringtones. I’m extremely pleased with the handsets! They of course were easy to set up and come with everything you need to get started. For the caller id and call waiting feature you will need to be sure you have those features turned on via your service provider as well.

Did I mention the handset backlit display? They have a great light display for dialing in a low light area. This is a great set for for home or office needs. Durable and works good!.

Stopped ALL annoying ROBO CALLS immediately! They simply cannot get past the call screener AND our phone never even rings! Amazing! Call quality is excellent and easy to install. The instructions & diagram included to set up the call screening & blocking processes desired were difficult to understand & follow however.

So I just Googled the phone model number ro get a user manual / instructions and all was inderstandable & GREAT! Highly recommend if ROBO CALLS are eating you up!.

I have had the same phone but by another company for years. I needed to replace that one so I decided this had features I wanted in a home phone. Easy to set up. Quick charged batteries. VERY LIGHTWEIGHT – making it easy to get knocked over.

When a message is left the indicator does not blank making it difficult to know if it is a new message or an old one. My biggest dislike is there is no way to adjust volume of the callers voice. You can adjust the loudness of the ringer but not loudness of the volume caller voice.

I like the callers number being announced but by the time it says the number/name your 4 ring before answering machine picks up is over. I will keep the phone just to avoid hassle of returning it. It isn’t a bad phone it just does not have certain features that I need.

I’ve had Panasonic home systems for years. This system is just as good (or better) than the others. Good quality, easy set up, and dependable all at a great price! I reviewed many home systems before selecting this one looking for a black color; this one only comes in white.

But all of the features of this system made the color insignificant. One great feature is the Call Block button; I’ve used this a few times to block all the spam calls I receive. The only difference is that my last Panasonic system’s handset had a dedicated button for the intercom.

This system requires you to select the menu and then the intercom button to select another handset – a very minor change. So far, this Panasonic home phone system has not disappointed me.

My very old panasonic version of this phone would not accept charge, I saw this and since it seemed very similar, I bought it. A lot of plastic and missed the speakerphone option of my old house phone.

For the price its a good buy if you want something to talk on and answer calls for you on landline. Easy set up and use. But very limited options. No speaker and volume is very low on its highest setting.

But for landline system. Works fine. If this is your only phone I would say DONT BUY IT! Upgrade and spend a little more for better quality for chatting on.

1. Base has slots on back for wall mounting with wall plate pin spacing of about 3 1/4″. Typical wall plates have pin spacing of about 3 15/16″. There is no way to mount this on a typical wall plate.

2. Purchased this unit in white for mounting on the wall in an exposed location, but the power cord shipped with the unit is black. Looks terrible. 3. They supply about 6 ft. of black telephone cable.

If wall mounting there is no room to store this much cable in or behind the base, so it hangs down on the wall and, again, looks terrible. Do not buy this phone if you want to mount it on the wall!.

I love that fact that this comes with one handset instead of multiples. Suited my needs to a T. The base and handset have separate ringers (different tones). You can adjust the volume of either or both, or even turn one off altogether.

I turned the base ringer off. I’ve used this for a month now, and haven’t come across any real weaknesses. It would be nice if the backlight on the screen was a tad brighter, but I’ll not nitpick. There are a half-dozen or so Vtech phones in my family, and no complaints.

Great overall performance at a fraction of what you’d pay for ATT, Motorola etc.

8/9/2018. Updated review: I am absolutely loving this phone. The initial problem corrected itself after continued use and the phone now works like a charm. I would highly recommend this product! The phone is easy to set-up and easy to use.

The unfortunate issue is probably one of the most important. Every call, whether I dial out or someone calls me, has a fuzzy or static sound. It’s simply too much trouble to box everything up and return the product only to wonder if I would receive another phone with the same problem.

I think it is very good. Nice upto date features. Good clarity. I like the backlight on all the buttons. It is very easy to use. The menu is very intuitive. Very good quality. I had a competitors phone of a very well known and established company but quivkly realized people on the other end were having difficulty hearing and understanding me.

This phone has very good reception and clarity. You cant go wrong with any electronic from Panasonic.

so far it’s been working well. i’ve used panasonics before so the programmed logic is familiar to me. once you get to know it, it becomes intuitive and easy to use. the sound is clear. the volume is adjustable.

setup was easy (once you understand how the logic works). i was up and running in about 30 minutes. the longest time was setting up the address book list again. that chore also goes quicker and easier once you understand how the logic there works.

speakerphone and intercom work great. i’m pleased.

I purchased this phone because our old one broke. I read the reviews and decided to order this one. We really like it. It is new, so we do need to check the instructions yet, but for the most part it is user friendly.

Did not use the blue tooth feature yet. Ringer is loud. Price was reasonable too. I would recommend to others.

Would not buy it again. Yes, it pairs with a bluetooth headset (in this case, a Plantronics Voyager Legend) – and. for incoming phone calls, you can answer using the bluetooth headset. BUT>>> IF YOU WANT TO DIAL OUT AND USE YOUR BLUETOOTH HEADSET – NOT HAPPENING.

So as I would consider their claim to pair with bluetooth headsets to be technically correct, I believe it to be misleading, as nothing is said about this deficiency in this phone’s capabilities. BTW, was on the phone numerous times with V-Tech support about this – their response.

so sorry, outgoing phone calls with bluetooth headset is not a working function with this phone. My response. so sorry, will never buy VTech products again.

I bought a clip jam music player from this company. We put music on it, gave it to my daughter for her birthday, she asked to put a few more songs on it, so we tried to do that and the computer doesn’t recognize it anymore.

It hadn’t gotten any use and is a piece of junk. Because I purchased it early to make sure it arrived for her birthday we missed the return window. Bummed I wasted $40 and my daughter’s birthday present didn’t work which is sad for her.

Seller said we missed the window and they can’t help. Beware purchasing from this company!.

Pros: Good value as a refurbished phone, looked just like new and worked just like it should. The printed instruction manual was well written and easy to understand The backup powered handset is a great feature just in case of power failures.

The speaker phone works and sounds good also. Having 5 handsets puts the phone into every room. Cons: Cant think of anything significantly wrong with these phones. The batteries dont last long when the phone is out of its charger base but charge up fairly fast There are many features built into the phone but take some time to figure them out.

THIS IS NOT MADE UP AND IT IS THE TRUTH. MY WIFE SAYS THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THIS PHONE IS THAT ONE OF THE HANDSET, EVERY SO OFTEN, WILL SAY(I KID YOU NOT) “JOE BIDEN. JOE BIDEN” CANT SEE A NUMBER BUT OCCASIONALY IT WILL SAY THAT.

BEING STAUNCH TRUMP SUPPODTERS THAT DOESNT SIT WELL WITH MY WIFE. STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW IT DOES IT. THATS WHY ONLY THE 4 STARS. IF IT WASN’T A DEMOCRATICPHONE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GIVE 5 STARS.

Pricing is great; set-up is simple; handbook (for the most part) covers everything I need to know to meet my expectations!! The ability to block robocalls is such a time saver. Once a number is registered, future calls ring once and then disconnect.

Just wish it had a greater capacity for these numbers.

This is not a bad phone, yes it is a bit quieter than other phones so if you are hard of hearing I would not suggest this phone, but for everyone else it is a good buy. Setting up the phone is not as easy as it should but if you take your time, read the instructions first then set up the phone step by step you should have no issues.

Over all this is a good phone and I would recommend it.

my old house phone burned up during the heat wave. so I got this one. I like the low level ring. and best of all I LOVE the call block. WOW amen for this feature. I get spam calls all day long. Now I answer and if it is spam I just press call block and be done with these people FOREVER.

Sound quality seems to be pretty good. People I have talked to said it’s good. Quality is pretty good on my end, but could be better. The phones are light weight, but stand up and comfortable in you hand.

Programming is a little challenge, but once you get figured out ok. I have to go back to the manual each time I do something x but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. It is not selfexplainitory. Has backlighting on the numbers, but not on the screen, therefore I have to turn on a light to read the smaller numbers and letters.

The inexpensive price and extensions make it worth it to me. Like the find handset feature.

Good basic cordless phone with one significant flaw – the display font size and lack of backlighting makes the Caller ID very hard to read. IF the user’s eyesight is less than perfect – don’t choose this cordless phone.

That said, it has good battery life and average range when using the phone away from the base. I’ve previously been very satisfied with VTech phones but this set is a big disappointment.

We are a retired couple that still use home phones in conjunction with our cell phones. My wife is nearly deaf and has difficult time hearing on some phones. Had to replace the 10 year old unit she was using after reading about this model, I ordered it.

The units are lightweight and easy to use. My wife has no problem hearing on this phone. Digital readout is large enough there is no problem reading the caller ID. Yes I would recommend this telephone.

So far I would rate this unit at 4 1/2 stars.

I had the earlier model of Panasonic cordless phones but one of the chargers was shorting out. This is the perfect replacement. The only thing I don’t like is some of the different button placements – just have to get used to the new.

Other than that, and the handset being lighter, which I like, it is a great phone! Oh, also love the silent mode capability where I can shut of the ringer automatically at night and have it come back on in the morning when I start my work day.

Excellent and simple phone set. This is perfect for my 93 year old mother’s requirements. It is great quality and so simple to set up.

I really like the look and feel of my new Panasonic Link2Cell Cordless Telephone with its digital answering machine. The numbers are easy to see and dial because of the light color of the keypad which is silhouetted against the sleekness of the black phone.

I also like the size of the numbers and how smooth they feel when you touch them. Even though I am new to this Link 2 Cell technology I was surprised at how easy it was to set up this phone. I was able to link my cell phone to my home phone which gives me another option in answering my phones.

This Bluetooth feature is fabulous! You can turn the digital answering machine off and on which I like also. I’m glad I picked a winner! The three handsets, colors, design, and features of this Panasonic Cordless Telephone are worth the money I paid which was a reasonable price for such quality.

I highly recommend this item for any consumer who is looking for an excellent product!.

There are many good features I like about this phone. It sounds good, has easy “Call Blocking” which is a new feature for me and much needed today, and if you are a mobile phone person it easily transfers all your contacts to a directory and allows you to use it when you are home to receive your cell phone calls.

Now for the features that need iimprovement. There are too many menu choices to do the simpliest things. I’m usually refering to the manual to set up a feature. I think the problem with this phone is that it has too many features that you really don’t need.

The directory is overkill with 3000 entries allowed, but with call blocking only 150 numbers. Surely 1000 entries for a directory would be more than enough, and 500 call block numbers would be reasonable.

Overall I’m happy with the phone. Panasonic just needs to make the menu selection 1 or 2 levels deep and lose some of its over crowded features.

I was intrigued by the Link2Cell feature thinking I could link my cell via Bluetooth and answer incoming land line calls on my cell. Not so much. The feature only goes the other way and the product summary does not say that the Link2Cell only really works with Android, not iOS phones.

I think that is the fault of Panasonic more than Staples.

So far so good. I am older and not very tech savvy so it’s takes me much longer to try to figure out how to get the phone set up correctly. At least it’s plugged in now, Wish you had a way to set it up for me then it would definitely be the best product ever.

I love all the features the phone offers and if it can eliminate all my fake phone calls and keep them away I will forever be so grateful to your company. Thanks for giving me hope.

We just purchased two sets of phones for our home and warehouse. Like the bluetooth/cell link features, easy to hook up, large letter size on display. The top feature is that the phones work during a power outage, that’s times 4.

(we have 4 handsets). Had to do that already.

I have not been using this item very long and still have not set up all its features. The instruction manual is very detailed and fairly easy to follow. The only issue that presents itself right now is the inability to export/import my cell phone contacts into the DECT 6.

0; evidentially there is an incompatibility. Other than that, I am pleased with this system.

The only great thing about this telephone so far is the ability to block 250 numbers. I’m finding out I lost some of the main things I liked about the system when I switched from my old Panasonic e. g.

, I had to enter 67 numbers one-by-one into the new phone’s memory, there was no way to transfer my old phone book to the new phone; there is no longer a blinking light on each handset to alert me that I have a message which was extremely helpful, I have to remember to check the base phone (which is out of the way when I enter the house), to see if there are messages; I now have to press a combination of numbers to Erase messages, before when a message was played, “Erase” appeared on the screen so that you could do it easily.

There are less options that I had grown used to. so I basically paid big bucks just to be able to block 250 numbers, not happy about the limited functionality of this Cordless Set.

I bought this phone hoping the sound quality would be better than my present phone and it is. I like the feature that enables you to block calls. It has the problem of my previous Panasonic in that it makes you delete calls on the headset several times to get rid of them.

One shortcoming is that the message signals (sound and light) are only on the base unit. I wish there was a flashing signal on all the headsets when there is a new message. The phone seems to be capable of many special features that I will probably never use.

I returned the Panasonic Cordless Answering Machine because the buttons were too small and it was too complicated and time consuming to program and operate. I wanted a cordless machine that was basic, easy to program and this was not it.

Sound quality for this Panasonic Product was horrible, though the only feature I liked was the choice of cute and melodic tunes, rather than that loud office ringing sound that other phones only have.

Yuk! Plus the feature were the phone announces the name of the person who is calling you between each ring tone was very hard to hear and if you wanted to increase the volume of just the call announce feature but separately decrease the ringing volume, you can’t.

I returned it for a cheaper VTech cordless answering machine with one hand-set phone – This one has three choices of the ring tone and they all sound the same no melodies, which as I said was the only thing I liked about the above listed phone from Panasonic.

Also, all of the cordless answering machines have eliminated the call in “monitoring room feature” from the remote feature. For example, when you dialed in to your home phone number when you’re out of town, and pressed a code while your outgoing message was playing , you could use the answering machine as a room monitor to listen for any activity near the answering machine like if your dogs are barking or if you hear water leaking from a broken pipe or some stranger walking around your home.

All the newer digital machines eliminated this call-in feature, and I’d like to know why?.

This phone was great in 2098, as it states on the box. Comes with a huge booklet to let you manually enter the codes( like the phones I git 6 yrs ago). The system settings is just a phone with the exception of Talking Caller I’d ( the only reason I bought this phone and a $11.

00 markdown in price). Seems like older phones are being sold with a list of the newest technologies ( most are not system settings). The base unit has not picked up one call, I called my cable company to set this up, as suggested.

The booklet is 52 pages long, giving you codes to manually insert yourself, as they are boy automatic system codes. I have yet gotten to have the base unit to pick up even one voice recorded message.

This phone is going back! I will definitely look up,phones online before purchasing another phone! You have to manually set codes up on this phone for the special features which the book refers to as system.

I had a phone similar to this about 10 years ago where you had to manually enter these 3 digit codes to get the specific features you want. Don’t buy this phone unless you just want a basic phone system that does have Talking caller I’d as long as you save the incoming phonecallntonthe phone book si the phone will remember the name/ phone# it is associated with.

The talking Caller ID on this model does not call out the phone numbers, you must save all these calls to your phone book so the phone remembers what Talking Caller I’d name to call out. I had to save 3 rd party phone numbers to my phone so it would remember what to Talking Id means to say.

Don’t be fooled, this phone is just a phone unless you are tech savy and enter the codes for the extras. Returning phone-.

After a few weeks I am sure I like this phone better than my old AT&T digital cordless answering system. The AT&T one lasted about 3 years. Hope this Panasonic lasts longer. It seems the Panasonic earpiece is just a tad louder and people I talk to report that I sound clearer on this new Panasonic than my previous system which was also DECT 6.

0 so that surprised me. I also like the CALL BLOCK feature which I’m using on all those telemarketers and after just a few weeks I’m already sensing a reduction in those annoyances. The base is compact and low profile.

Everything you need is included. The base for the second handset is compact but more stable than my prevous one too. There are fewer ring tones on the Panasonic than on the previous system I had and the ringer volume itself is not as loud either.

But otherwise I like this new Panasonic better than the previous system. The Panasonic handset sits better on my shoulder when I need to use both hands where the old one would slide off 100% of the time.

The speakerphone function is about the same as on the previous AT&T system and works well. Battery life seems better on this one because of the ECO Mode feature probably. I also like the caller announce function which uses a synthesized voice to tell you who is calling and it engages after the first ring.

If the new Panasonic had louder ring tones I’d give this phone system 5 stars. Since you have to be in the room to hear it ring I can only give it 4 stars. Yes it has a belt clip but I rarely ever use it.

It seems the phone likes to ring while I’m in the shower or on the porch and I don’t hear it then. It also once did not wake me from a sound sleep 3 feet from my head with the loudest and most obnoxious ringer available selected.

The good outweighs the bad here and the call block feature itself was worth the upgrade. For the money this is a very decent phone system. The color is classy, the design modern however some of the most often used buttons could be a bit larger.

Also this phone system is useless during power failures so I’ll get a cheap corded phone soon for such an event. There may be another answering cordless system that is better, but it would cost a lot more and this one will do for me.

A minor annoyance was actually buying it. I first looked online, saw this was in stock in my local Albemarle, NC Walmart and went to get it. It was about $10 higher on the shelf if I picked it up right then.

I checked the other models available and this was the best one for me. So I went home, logged on at Walmart. com and ordered it Site To Store and then in less than an hour I got a message it was ready to be picked up.

That was a difference of about 15%. I compared prices on this system from other online sellers and Walmart had the best price online of any online retailer I checked. Several places were significantly higher by about 50%.

Ordering it from Walmart online Site To Store saved me more. When I got there to pick it up I got in line behind some lady with a cart full of items to put on layaway, some of which the clerk had difficulty scanning in.

I was getting annoyed but another clerk came and opened up the other station on the photo side and I got out of there with the new phone system saving about $10.
