I like this icing. Needed the icing to set up quickly so we could transport easily. This sets up in about 15 minutes, getting progressively harder as you wait. You cut the tip to whatever thickness you want.
For children I would cut the tip at the second line so it is easier for them to squeeze out the frosting. Have them practice on a piece of plastic wrap first. It’s a beautiful vibrant red color. Can be used for string work, but work quickly.

To thin icing for flowing in designs, add 1/2 teaspoon water per 1/4 cup icing, Icing is ready for flowing when a small amount dropped back into mixture takes a count of 10 disappear. Add additional water as needed. How to Store: Icing dries hard. During decorating, cover icing bowl with a wet towel to prevent drying out. Re-beat icing as needed to restore consistency. After use, store icing in a grease-free airtight container at room temperature up to five days. Mix icing before each use. Dried decorations can be stored indefinitely, placed in a covered container in a cool place. Handle carefully as royal icing can break. Do not freeze decorations.

Had some trepidation over using royal icing as I’ve only heard of it on professional baked goods. Actually it was fairly easy because good instructions come with. My application was very basc. I simply applied it on top of cookies (tried dipped and spread) then added sprinkles and let dry.
While mine did not look as good as the professional product photo, I was very pleased with the outcome for a beginner. I am going to try it again, too. It was great to see that I didn’t need to mix the entire batch at once and can color the icing with food dye.
This icing is delicious and super easy to use. You just add 4 tablespoons of water and mix. I was worried it would harden pretty fast but it did not. I had plenty of time to make all the cookies and wait for them to cool then ice them before the icing got hard.
It was about 40 minutes before there were any signs of hardening in the bowl which then you could just add water and mix again so not a big deal anyways. Our cookies don’t look like the ones on the box but with the help of my kids we made some delicious cookies! I did not add any food coloring but you easily could have.
The icing on the actual cookies hardened after about 15 or 20 minutes. We wanted to add sprinkles on ours but that has to be done before the icing hardens or it won’t stick so we had to do it immediately.
There was enough frosting to ice about 40 cookies and also my kids ate a little. Easy to use and tasty!!.
This was my first time using this product. I needed it to decorate cookies. After following the directions on the box, I found the icing to be too thick to use on my cookies The directions suggested adding more water to thin the icing out.
Apparently I added too much water because the icing became too thin. Despite that, I used the icing to “flood” the cookies. It took quite some time for the icing to harden. In the end, the icing worked out and it did have a nice flavor.

When you open the container of frosting the product looks dry. But then you mix it up it will turn smooth and creamy. You need to refrigerate after opening according to container. The frosting is a dark brown color.
It does not have a strong chocolate smell. I found the frosting is smooth and spreads very easily. I felt the taste of the frosting is a very light chocolate flavor. To me It tastes like cocoa powder.
I my self wished it was more sweeter chocolate flavor however. In all the frosting is great and I enjoyed it.
I was really excited to try this chocolate frosting from Simple Mills. The fact that it is organic, made without a long list of weird ingredients made it seem like it would be a great substitute for the sugar laden frosting I usually see/buy at the store.

This was missing something. It tasted like coconut oil and cocoa blended together without anything else. I brought it to my mother in law’s to use on a cake and asked her to try it. She said she liked the flavor, said it tasted a little chalky, but had a dark chocolate flavor that she thought was “ok”.

For a beginner baker/decorator, the picture they have on the package of the decorated cupcake is definitely not what it looks like when you use the tip. (maybe it’s just me?) It was sad that there was no directions on it either.
When I first opened it to try it, it was very runny so I would suggest trying it out elsewhere than your baked goods. I got it to work by kneading it a whole lot and put it in the freezer for about 5 minutes just to let it get to the consistency you want.
Once you practice with the decorating tips they give, you are able to make them look pretty good. I was able to cover 2 dozen cupcakes with just one packet but used another one just to add more icing.
Super easy to use – I would smoosh it all around in the bag with your fingers and then push out a bit before the start of decorating. Initially, the frosting is a little bit watery. Once you eliminate that it worked like a dream.
The ability to move between stars and a straight line was an added bonus. The taste was pleasantly surprising.
I bought this around December 2021, to use as decoration for my gingerbread men. It’s okay, but just be warned you’ll get liquid at the beginning before solid icing comes out. Its also very sweet.

I agree with the reviewers and I could also eat this by the spoonful. The gritty texture makes me really feel as though this is cookie dough and not frosting. After trying this frosting, I immediately began thinking of what types of cupcakes will get this treatment immediately.
I don’t know who came up with the idea for this type of frosting but that person needs a raise so they can continue thinking outside the box of the regular run of the mill frostings on the markets by other brands! I knew I loved Duncan Hines for a reason.

yeah i seen in the store and i thought oh wow cookie dough icing. Well i tryed it and i was far far from even being impressed a slight amount. i put it on cupcakes and tryed with brownies. had a friend try it on same items and we both were like what is this.

Overall, enjoyed the cream. Would have preferred it be a little liter. Store only had the medium texture. Prepared icing as instructed on box and it came out about 90% accurate to what I was expecting.
The only other thing I would recommend is that it have a better flavor. Current basic flavoring taste very generic and chemically processed. I imagined you could probably use any of your own personal flavors if necessary but if you are looking for a white color pay attention to the color of your flavoring as many have color to them.
Try adding flavoring to a small amount to see if it changes the color of your icing before adding flavoring to the whole box.
This is great stuff, especially since it was on clearance for half the price. The taste is good, less mess than when I make from scratch (therefore much faster), and if you want chocolate just add cocoa and a little more liquid.
I used milk the first time; the second time I used water and liked the consistency much better. Works good in decorating tools, too.

This icing was very good. My husband and I had to get it because we both used to eat Dunkaroos as kids. So when we seen this it, was a no brainer we used it on yellow cake cupcakes. It was so good and creamy and the little candy pieces( or whatever they are called) weren’t hard.
They were a perfect texture that went perfect with the vanilla icing they were in.
This is just Betty Crocker’s Rainbow Chip icing with a different label. It’s been around since the 80’s. Betty Crocker is the only one left making it. They cancelled it a few years ago, but brought it back thanks to Katy Perry.

This was my first time trying the Wilton brand icing coloring. I purchased the set mainly for the “Sky Blue” color. I didn’t use it for icing, I used it to make my cheesecake look like ocean/beach water.
It worked great! I mixed 2 boxes of cheesecake at a time and added the Wilton coloring. At first it was more of a greenish blue color due to the natural color of the cheesecake which at first I didn’t like but as I added more cheesecake layers I also added more Wilton coloring to the mix until I got it to the blue color I was hoping for.
It turned out really good having the different layers of sky blue colors instead of all just one shade. I couldn’t have accomplished this without Wilton. Looking forward to experimenting with the other colors on cakes and other deserts.
I highly recommend Wilton. I’ll never use another brand. I really liked that this was “gel” consistency and didn’t change the taste of my desert.
I purchased the Wilton Gel Icing Colors for a birthday cake I was making and decorating. The colors were exactly what I was looking for and matched the color palette on the box perfectly. They blended beautifully when mixed to make a few tie dye rosettes on my Unicorn cake for the mane.

Do NOT buy this product. My daughters birthday was ruined by the mess this stuff made. Literally just slid off the cake in a puddle. I was concerned when I began to frost the cooled cake layers as the frosting was very thin and drippy coming out of the container.

I bought Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy Frosting, Milk Chocolate 16 oz to use on a Betty Crocker baked yellow cake. The top lid and aluminum under the lid were easy to take off. I stirred the frosting in the container and applied it to sections of the cake.
I took my time to spread the frosting to ensure the frosting did not lift the cake topping. The container of frosting easily covered the 9 x 13 cake. The Milk Chocolate flavor is a favorite for the yellow cake.
The frosting has a rich milk chocolate taste. I prefer to stir the frosting to make it less stiff and more spreadable.
