The Spade To Fork line of organic garden kits was originally developed by owners Ana & Jeff as an after-school educational project to spark inspiration in their own 3 children and get their hands a little dirty growing garden fresh veggies.
They are now proud to be part of a global revolution to make food personal again. Spade To Fork Culinary Herbs kits are proudly made in the USA on their family farm in coastal Oregon. Organic seeds are only as organic as the soil and pots they are grown in.
Spade To Fork not only includes the highest-quality organic and non-GMO vegetable and herb seeds available, they also only use soil and pots that are inspected and certified to be used for organic food production.
For this farm, organic truly does mean organic. Can this home garden kit help turn my brown thumb green? Yes it can! Top-quality ingredients and a thorough but simple planting guide have brown thumbs turning green on a daily basis.
Will I need to fertilize my growing herbs? Container gardens grow more strongly when their soil is amended with an organic plant food. Spade To Fork’s organic fertilizers are specially formulated for their home garden kits, and Grove carries all of them.
I planted twice! The first time I planted I did not soak the seeds, because it wasn’t in the instruction manual. After weeks of barely anything growing I gave up! Then a friend of mine told me the best practice is to soak the seeds for 18-24 hours before planting.
I did this, and now they’re growing like crazy! I highly recommend trying again with new soil, and soaked seeds.
If I could I would post the pictures of my new babies, but words will have to do. These kits deliver! So easy and such wonderful little seedlings only a week after planting! Highly recommend! :seedling::potted_plant:
I just wanted to say that every one of my Herbs are growing very well. As described, when I followed the directions they sprouted very quickly. This was particularly important to me because I live in Oregon and have a really good idea where this company is.
We have had enough bad press and find it refreshing to hear something nice.
Basil is often called the king of herbs for a reason. It is a great source of vitamin A, grows easily and adds flavour to everything from pizza to pasta to salads. Basil will transform you food experiences and your health.
All hail to the king Basil soon to be growing in your Click and Grow Smart Garden! Our NASA-inspired Smart Soil creates the perfect environment plants need to thrive. Smart Soil releases nutrients in sync with the plant life cycle, keeps soil pH balanced, and employs tiny oxygen pockets to guarantee plants get ample breathing room and nutrients even when the soil is wet, eliminating the need for sensors, pumps, and mixers.
The Smart Soil contains no pesticides, fungicides, hormones or any other harmful substances.
Talk about convenient! Small enough to fit on the window sill, which is great as its basically out of sight. There is a small sound when it cycles the lights and water on and off. Only need to water it once a month and then just each month after that.
Basil pods grow delicious, fresh, leaves that sprouted in about 3-5 days and after about 2 weeks were producing edible leaves. We did purchase the strawberry pods as a bonus but we haven’t used them yet.
If they are anything like the basil pods i can see this being a life long investment.
My 20-something daughter loves to garden. This garden was perfect for winter until she can get back outside in her garden. We didn’t really need to read the directions to put it together. It has extra arms to raise the light bar higher when the plants grow.
You have to buy the seed pods that come with it. We were hoping we could use our own seeds. This garden is great for small spaces and is very easy to use! #sweepstakes.
I now have bought 5 of these Click and Grow systems. I have two at my office, one at my home, my husband has one at his office and we just set up one for my mother. It is extremely satisfying to eat tomatos that you have grown in your living room.
It seems almost crazy that you can cook with basil that you grew on your kitchen counter in the middle of winter. My plan is to give everyone one of these as a family gift for Christmas. I think the kids will love them.
100% RAW ORGANIC BASIL SEEDS: Zen Basil Seeds are the MOST nutritious edible basil seeds on the market! 1 TBS of our organic seeds equals 8 Grams of fiber. Simply add to smoothies, oatmeal & yogurt, salads, sauces, soups, jams, & even baked goods for extra nutrition in your daily diet.
Enjoy a delicious paleo vegan gluten-free keto drink or snack that will help you cleanse, energize, & focus! Zen Basil vanilla & pomegranate pudding bowl Zen Basil Seed raspberry & blackberry breakfast parfait Zen Basil coconut & blue spirulina smoothie.
Highly recommend these Basil Seeds. I put them in my daily oats+nuts bowl for added texture, nutrition, and taste. Other reviewers say they are tasteless. To me then have a distinct flavor. It took a little getting used it at first, but after a few weeks of use I’m converted and I enjoy the added flavor.
As other reviewers mention, they swell up much more quickly than chia, which I like: this way you feel like you are eating something substantial rather than a tiny/hard seed. Perhaps most importantly for me, I digest them better than chia seeds.
For me chia seeds often (even when soaked well) would pass through undigested. Not encountered that once with these Basil seeds, so I think it is safe to assume I’m getting more nutrients from them.
I tried my first Zen Basil and have not stopped! I prefer them hydrated and I choose to eat them with a spoon like a snack but I often do indulge with my whole grains, yogurt, anything! Their Social Media has daily recipes and ideas, the ordering process is easy and they arrived in a timely manner and well packaged.
I cannot tell you how I lost 27 plus pounds with a stricter exercise and diet routine which Zen Basil helped me in that journey and I will forever treat myself to this really great product- Enjoy the benefits and say goodbye to the leg cramps-.
I was introduced to Zen Basil several years ago and it has totally become a staple in my kitchen. In addition to the amazing gut health it provides and the fiber content that I need, I love the versatility of the product.
There is something about the texture of it that is so enjoyable. From soaking it in water and creating a puddings to just dropping a tablespoon into a smoothie, I love the feel of it on my tongue. I am so glad I got turned onto this product.
Annual. 68 days. With flavors of both traditional basil and cinnamon this strain is a Spicy/sweet treat. Use in baked good, jams, pastas and salads. Place a bruised leaf in the bottom of your tea cup before adding tea! A small leaved variety that benefits from some pinching.
Prompt delivery and great customer service in answering my questions about shipping overseas. The China Rose Radish seeds germinated quickly and in full force. Must be around 99% germination, as I never had an issue with it.
I’ve sown nearly 5lbs as microgreens and they are always the first to pop up(sun flower, kohlrabi, mustard, peas etc). Great “spicy” flavour and lovey subtle pink hues on the stems which I love adding to asian inspired dishes.
The restaurants I sell them to always comments on them specifically. I would recommend these to anyone starting out as they are nearly foolproof, or needing something to fill a microgreen mix bag.
Tender, flavourful, fast sprouting. high germination. What more can you ask for from a great pack of seeds? These are going to be a staple for me. I absolutely love them in salads, they add a soft buttery flavour.
I harvest as I go, which is why the tray looks a bit sparse in back. About to go plant another tray.
I used these radishes as sprouts. Works great and good germination but it does take 1 day longer than most of my other sprouts. I use the round green trays from true leaf stores. It’s my favorite sprouter.
Genovese Basil is widely regarded as the best herb for pesto and garlic-flavored dishes! Plants grow 20 to 30″ and may yield up to 7 or 8 cuttings each! Medium dark green leaves average 2 to 3″ in length and have a strong spicy fragrance and taste.
Slow to bolt! Average water needs. Water regularly, but do not over water.
We live in Southern California, Huntington Beach, to be exact. We had a very warm and dry “winter” this year. We have had it planted in a planter that borders the back of our pool with a southern exposure for about 3 years.
This plant took over our garden and spread like a weed this year. I, personally, am not very fond of the smell, but others we know love it. I wish it was Sweet Basil commonly used in Italian cooking.
We have cut it back, wash it off, hung it upside down in our house to dry out. Once it was thoroughly dry, we put it in a coffee grinder, jarred it, and gave it away as gifts.
I have been buying my seeds and plants from this Merchant for the last 5 years , they are very dependable and, honest and friendly. You can trust them in what they sell you. This is a great and dependable place to buy all your seeds and plants.
First time customer — quite impressed with responsive order (in spite of ongoing pandemic), quality of packaging, and thus far the yield. Started about 3/4s of the selection indoors and a few out — germination seems very good (75-95%) This far I am very pleased Thank you in advance! Be safe out there!.

Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!.
Yes I used to be so bad with plants that when I shop for plants the plants are trembling and saying please don’t buy me. I’ve heard what you did to joe. Joe was a cactus of mine. Joe never needed any care whatsoever.
Didn’t even need water to flourish. We I killed joe with a plant stimulator that I built myself. Joe was Florishing until I put the plant stimulator in front of joe and you guessed it joe was dead In a week.
I killed so many plants in my life that the Italian mafia wanted to give me a job. The plants in retail stores are pleading with me to walk away and not purchase them. They say to me pleeeeease don’t by me cause I’ll be dead in a week but I didn’t listen I just buy another one only to confirm later that the plant was right.
Til I got the aero garden and now it really does make me a good gardener. I love the simplicity to growing great plants and now it’s a lot of fun and exciting also. Thank you aero garden.
When i first got my aero garden it came with different herb pods. I planted them and they grew so well. It eas gun watching them and i got a lot ofherbs. Then i hung them up to dry and put them on little jars which i have used in my baking and cooking.
Then i tried lettuce and oh my goodness. did i get lettuce. Unfortunately i. had an accident and was out of commission for several. weeks. i hada friend. who emptied the garden for me and turned it off.
I have just cleaned out the last batch and. started a. new one. I love. the lettuce because i can use it to make myself a salad and on sandwiches and dont have to buy bagged that gets rotten and ends.
up in the garbage. I love. my aero garden. and. cant wait. to tryy. own. seeds.
The butter lettuce is my favorite for snipping off a few leaves to toss on a fresh sandwich, though honestly, all three are good. Greens for the store are only good 2-3 days, and at this point of the pandemic I only shop 1-2 times a month.
It’s been really nice having something fresh and green available every day, whenever I want it. All three lettuces grow super fast. It’s pretty rewarding to watch. At this point (month 3) I’m able to have a little side salad at least once a week as well as sandwich fixings.
The plants keep chugging along! Once the plants are big enough to start harvesting leaves I recommend going a little bit light on the nutrients (3/4 cap in a Harvest Elite). My first round I ended up with some “burn” around the edges from over-feeding them.
Your plants are happier and your nutrients last longer, so everyone wins! This collection is sweeter and crisper than the Heritage Salads mix. If you found the dark purple leaves of that collection too bitter or soft, give this one a try! I think for an actual dinner salad, the ideal mix would be mostly these three plus a little of the Deer Tongue and Red Sails from the other collection for a dash of extra flavor (and some basil, because if you have even one basil plant, you have a TON of basil.
Welcome SWEET BASIL Herb Spicy-scented basil leaves are one of the most popular of all herbs used in cooking. Basil is particularly attractive when planted as a border. Sow: Seeds in a sunny location after all danger of frost has past.
For earlier harvest start seed indoors 4-6 weeks before outdoor planting time. Days to Germinate: 10-15 Depth to Sow: 1/8″ Seed Spacing: 1/2″ Type: Annual Pinch terminal shoots to encourage branching.
Use the pinchings. Give the gift that keeps on giving. Save Heirloom Seeds and Replant next year. Great for Christmas cards. HAPPY PLANTING !!.
I planted the basil in my Aerogarden and just harvested the first batch (almost all the seeds germinated). The plants are lush and bushy and the pesto I made was unbelievable! This basil tastes nothing like the stuff you can buy in the store.
120 days. A new pumpkin variety characterized by its flattened or Long Island Cheese like shape but with a dark orange color and an extra thick handle or stem. It averages from 15 to 25 lbs. These traits; color shape and handle lend great interest.
Thumpin grabs attention in any display. Thumpkin should be planted with plenty of room for the large vine. The producer recommends planting 1-3 seeds 6 feet apart in rows 12 feet apart and will produce ABUNDANTLY at this spacing.
Great seeds! Although, it sucks when you buy 2k worth of seeds a year and are relying on True Leaf to make the right logistical decisions to have seeds in stock. However, for the past 2 months these seeds have been out of stock and it’s starting to effect my customers and my business.
I guess its my fault for not diversifying where I source seeds from. It’s time to go to Johnny’s or some other seed distributor!.
Love them! At first, I didn’t see the difference between opal and red Rubin. It’s mostly in the stems. I like to add it to my tray of opal for chefs and it adds a richer look to the tray. They def notice it.
I usually get a wow when they first glance at it. It’s a beautiful color just like the opal with just a tad more richness because the color is also in the stems. Grown same as all basils. No stacking, takes abou 6 days in dark to get the length I like then about 6 days under lights.
A candle worth keeping. This soy-blend basil cocktail scented candle is outfitted in a footed, reactive glaze ceramic vessel and includes components to grow Basil once the candle has been burned down.
The candle features a refreshing combination of fresh basil, ginger, and lemon zest notes grounded by warm clove. Grow kit components are tucked inside the base of the box and include non-GMO seeds, coconut husk growing medium, carbon, plant food and instructions.
Not sure how many seeds are supposed to be in the kit, but I only found two in the envelope. Knowing desert rose plants aren’t cheap, I decided to try this when it went on sale. My last plant (bought elsewhere) gave me one beautiful rose & then I left it outside in weather that was too cool & killed it, Only started this about 5 days ago & on cloudy days I put the pot under the light of my stove hood.
So far I have 2 little sprouts coming up. Hopefully I have learned enough to keep this one alive. If you get one keep it away from your pets because it poisonous. They need sun, warmth & very little other care.
Basil Sweet basil, the most widely used variety in cooking, comes from the Lamiaceae (mint) family. While it’s originally native to India, basil can be commonly found in Italian cuisine. Its sweet, slightly minty, and subtly peppery flavor is the perfect complement to sauces and pasta dishes.
Add a hint of basil at the end of cooking because heat deteriorates its signature scent and flavor. Both Mediterranean and Asian cuisines rely on this special herb to flavor their dishes. Pesto is a savory oil-based sauce used in pasta and pizza recipes that utilizes this herb.
Marinara sauces cry out for ample quantities of this flavoring. One of the simplest summertime recipes is to slice fresh tomatoes and mozzarella, sprinkle with the herb, and then add a bit of good-quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Asian rice salads and fish recipes often benefit from the addition of this succulent herb. Dried Basil Leaves are sometimes added for a piquant counter taste to ice cream and other desserts.
I’ve been buying bulk oregano for years either from Starwest or other bulk brands with wonderful results, however this year I have gotten oregano that has a very different fragrance and flavor profile.
It’s almost chemical or acrid and very off putting. I’ve tried several different brands now and still get the same off flavor. Is anyone else out there experiencing this? The odor and the flavor after cooking are the same.
I LOVE oregano and I grow my own, but even the plants in the stores are not the same as they were several years ago. The flavor is strong and takes over the dish but in a completely different way. But the dried oregano that I’ve been purchasing is nearly inedible.
Vitacost was FABULOUS and they replaced one brand with another at my request but the oregano had the same off flavor as the first. Now I’m buying it in smaller jars in the grocery store trying to find that true flavor and so far I have been sorely disappointed.
I want to think the companies are all buying from the same growers so I keep getting the same variety. I thought maybe it’s me. so I’ve given some to family and friends and they taste the difference as well.
I always buy the organic variety so it shouldn’t be a pesticide I’m tasting. HELP!.

The Basil Bloom Big Bell makes an essential addition to your bicycle, with a clear ding-ding sound and fabulous floral pattern that adds plenty of personality to your frame. The 80 mm diameter ensures this bell makes plenty of impact aesthetically, while ensuring the noise emitted is loud enough that pedestrians and other road users know you’re coming.
If you’re forever finding yourself caught in a crowd or held up during your commute, this bell is an indispensable accessory.
The bell is easy to install and has a loud distinctive sound. Useful on shared cycle paths and canal tow paths. Much louder and easier for other users to hear than a cheap single ring bell. Time will tell if it will take exposure to rain.
This is a bell that can be heard and looks as well as sounds good and was bought as a gift for a keen cyclist friend who bewailed that noone ever heard the bell she had. Tredz was efficient in acknowledging and process the order and maintained excellent communication keeping me informed re delays from their supplier and my options.
The item arrived in good time and good condition. Would not hesitate to use this company again or to refer to others.
McCormick Basil Leaves have an aromatic, sweet flavor that blends well with garlic and tomatoes. This pantry staple is essential in so many of your familys favorite recipes, including pizza, pasta, marinara sauce and minestrone.
You wont find a more versatile herb than basil. This member of the mint family carries a fresh, green aroma with a hint of sweet licorice. Basil is delicious in everything from spaghetti sauce to roasted meats, soups and salads.
Youll also enjoy it in recipes for marinated olives, Italian sausage and peppers or Tuscan beef stew. McCormick Basil Leaves are gently dried for flavor, color and aroma. Rub the leaves between your fingers before adding it to your dish to release the flavorful oils and superb fragrance.
I always thought I made pretty food spaghetti until I discovered bay leaves. It adds a robust flavor to your meats soups and more. When. My beef is half way done I add a few leaves and I also add some to my sauce.
The taste is amazing. But if you plan on baking your spaghetti i suggest pulling the leaves out b4 actually baking it.
Mc Cormick is a staple brand for generations in my family and for good reason. For instance, the herbs. The basil has such an aroma that when you smell it, it makes you feel like you’re in a fresh garden of basil.
The taste is like nothing you’ve ever tasted before. The beans, the stew, everything you put this basil in will up your game. I highly recommend this product.
I can’t live without any of my spices. I have to have my Italian spices my basil the garlics. This is good for anything you can add them so you can like if you’re going to make garlic bread and sprinkle it on top with or bake it with the butter you can add it in your.
Traditionally for maintaining emotional well being and supporting a positive mood. Helps the body cope with stress to support a positive outlook. Also known as Tulsi; a revered adaptogenic Ayurvedic herb.

I had been wanting to get on Lion’s mane for awhile, but kept forgetting/putting it off. (If you know you know how it is with ADHD). I struggle to remember to take things daily sometimes, especially multiple times a day but because these capsules are concentrated and only require 1 a day I think that could really help folks with ADHD/people with memory problems.
I have been having eye twitching on my left eye socket for a few months now, off and on. I have also been having twitching under my left eye, on my cheek. I had gone to acupuncture, and that didn’t do much.
This can happen to me if I don’t sleep too well but obviously it hasn’t gotten much better and it feels like a very specific part of my body and face. I take vyvanse a few times a week and notice that when it wears off I get muscle twitches.
(my eye was still twitching even on my days off from vyvanse). I have been on these capsules for a week and all of it is gone! I had suspected it was dopamine related because I know that dopamine receptors and lack there of can effect this kind of stuff.
I’m just shocked it went away so quickly. I recommending this product to all of my friends with ADHD and those who are medicated. I plan on continuing to take it to see if it helps with brain fog, memory, focus and other ADHD symptoms but so far so good.
Only took a few days to notice my first big difference. Truly amazing. Easy to swallow and doesn’t taste bad.
Bay leaf is an evergreen related to camphor and sassafras trees. It’s also known as sweet bay and laurel. Enjoy its sweet, balsamic scent and bitter/spicy bite in soups and sauces and meats, and in cooking blends.
Our organic bay leaf is a key ingredient in French and Mediterranean dishes. These dried Premium Hand Select Grade bay leaves are used in cooking for their distinctive flavor and fragrance.
I grow hydroponically on coconut fiber pads. These Genovese basil microgreen seeds germinate easily in my 68 to 72 degree grow room in about 8 days. They go under the lights for another 6 or 7 days and are ready to go.
They stay small but have a strong basil flavor and are perfect for easy micro-basil pesto. My customers love them!.
These are delightful! They’re compact and dense in the tray and grow slowly, but they germinate well. For being relatively small they have a potent, true basil flavor and they look elegant on the food.
I absolutely love this basil. It is so cute and germination is lovely, flavor is wonderful and potent and sweet. I recommend this basil for an everyday treat. Grows fantastically and no troubles at all.
Looks beautiful too on the plate. Love this basil flavor!.
This easy-to-use kit contains everything you need to grow basil, cilantro, oregano, parsley and thyme. Makes a great gift for green thumbs and chefs alike. Size 8-1/2 inch diameter x 7-1/2 inch height.
The Herb kit was recently purchased as a Christmas gift for a family member who loves plants. I sent, as an email, the growing instructions that I had seen on the website. So far the family member is very pleased with the gift.
Time will tell how successful the outcome will be!.
My wonderful Aunt gave me this kit as a present this Winter. She didn’t realize it came with no instructions and had no idea, despite being an accomplished gardener, how to direct me to use the soil disks or if I should grow the seeds into seedlings elsewhere and transplant them.
When I looked online there were no examples of folks sowing seeds directly into a multi-pocketed “strawberry” planter like this so I have no alternative guidance. This just isn’t what my aunt wanted for me.
Dry basil has a subtle peppery flavor but, when it’s cooked, the initial flavor gives way to a sweeter note. Egyptian dry basil leaves are prominently featured in many cuisines around the world including Italian, Thai, Vietnamese and Laotian.
Our Egyptian dry basil is just basil, that’s all. Dry basil is a great addition to any sauce, stew, and salad. It’s even delicious when sprinkled on cheese. Dry basil’s flavor profile really comes out in recipes with long cooking times as in a marinara sauce, where the sustained simmer brings out its mild sweetness.
With so many options, let your imagination lead you to new uses for this herb! Historical References The first written evidence of basil’s existence is 4,000 years old, originating from Egypt. The herb’s name means “king” in Greek.
Basil gained its royal name because it was considered a sacred herb in its native India and was often planted in temples because it was considered a protector.

This is an easy plug and play kind of herb garden. It’s so simple to start your own garden. No real work is involved just pay attention to the alerts from the blinking lights letting you know more water should be added.
Seriously that’s all you need to do. I plugged it in at 6am and it turns off automatically around 10:30pm. It’s small enough to fit on your counter and large enough to produce a realistic amount of natural fresh herbs.
I do wish that the tabs that you place with the type of herb you are growing were plastic and not the end of the cardboard box. It would just look better on your garden. I made labels to perfect the look I wanted.
The best way to ensure success when growing basil is to start with healthy plants, sow seeds in well-drained soil, provide plenty of sunshine and water regularly. Picking the leaves regularly will also encourage the plant to produce more leaves.
