Good screen, decent 11th gen Intel CPU, RAM and Disk are low but can be upgraded. I knew what I was buying as I was going to add more memory and storage anyways. Out of the box it’s fine for a few browser tabs but realistically 4gb just isn’t enough these days.

I would strongly recommend upgrading to at least 8 or 12gb which should be around £20 from. Opening the case is a little tricky but there are guides online. Please be aware, although there is a SATA slot, the connector cable is not included inside the case.

You will need to buy one separately which can be expensive if buying an official Lenovo part, I ordered a 3rd party connector for £5 from Ebay which does the job. Performance is pretty good for a dual core, runs everything and feels snappy.

The screen is also good which was the main reason for buying this laptop as I needed a good large screen. Battery life is ok although not fantastic. Expect 3-4 hours, it is possible to stretch to 5 with lower brightness if not stressing the CPU.

It is plugged in most of the time so not a deal breaker for me. Overall, decent at £340, wouldn’t pay £400 though.

Got this laptop last year from the shopping mall because I required a computer urgently and it was good value for my needs. The laptop feels sturdy in hand with nice colour and its IPS screen is easy on the eyes, not causing strain with good picture size for larger images, documents or videos.

I thought the processor would be slower but at the time latest gen i3 was deceptively fast and snappy, completing all necessary tasks without delay. The operating system started up quick and ran smoothly with no problems at all.

The only slight inconvenience was owing to my arm having joint problems and so the weight was a bit much for me. The battery seemed to last just about enough as I needed to carry it around but may seem wanting for those who want to go whole day without the charger.

Ultimately because of its weight and my arm problems I did not keep it long term but for the screen size I suppose this weight will be a given. If that does not bother you then this is a wonderful machine with a good set of features for its price.

I purchased this laptop for my father. The larger screen is perfect for him since he can’t see as well as he once could. The resolution and refresh rate are great for what he is using the laptop for.

It is actually more robust than he needs since all he does is use it for email and looking at a few other websites. The reality is a tablet would have been ideal for him, but with him changes is never good.

He still likes his paper copies to put into his filing cabinet. LOL! He thought he’d want an external keyboard that had raised keys so he could feel his fingers clicking as he typed, but he has gotten used to the flatter keys.

The reality is flatter keys are more ergonomic than the raised keys. You don’t want your fingers doing as much work to push down the keys. Overall a solid device that will not compromise any performance he requires.

Even if he streams one of the grandchildren’s activities, he should have no lag issues. Highly recommend for those not needing a workhorse to perform complex activities such as gaming.

The keys stopped working on my previous Lenovo pc so I had to buy a new one. Unfortunately this new pc does not recognise my HP printer. I’m still working on that problem, hours wasted so far. The keyboard layout has changed too and so have some function keys, and there is no product manual provided with the product.

I thought the pc was faulty until a sales guy showed me how the function keys work on this model pc. The AC adaptor has changed from last time as well, so I can’t use my previous AC adaptors & have to carry the new adaptor from room to room.

I don’t like that Edge and Bing are the default internet programs and changing them has not worked well. The home screen of Windows 11 is changed from Windows 10 and is less useful they tried to make it simpler but simply made it annoying.

I don’t like the way the pc tries to store everything in the cloud.

After reading countless reviews on computers that can run the Adobe Suite programs, I chose this computer because on paper it had all the requirements to handle programs like Adobe Illustrator, along with the fact that I wouldn’t have to spend thousands of dollars on something like a Mac, or gaming PC.

I couldn’t have been more wrong. Upon installing the programs, this device CANNOT handle programs like illustrator. I wish I was exaggerating when I say that sometimes it would take over 1 hour to open my computer and have it run ANYTHING.

It’s constant updates, coupled with it’s weak processing power, really do make for a miserable experience. I have had family and friends ask if I would recommend this computer, or even this brand for that matter, and I have ALWAYS advised against buying this computer, and brand.

It’s been absolutely the worst computer experience for me in all my years of using a computer, which is saying a lot since I learned about computers when there were still floppy disks. Do yourself a favor when thinking about buying a computer for programs like illustrator.

Just shell out the extra money and get a brand, or model, that is tried and true when it comes to these things. I totally understand that many people can’t afford to spend that much money on a computer, as I considered myself a part of that group, but you will definitely save on lost time, which some would argue is more important than money, as well as the mental anguish of staring at a constant spinning wheel of death while this “computer” is working to open up anything.

Save yourself the aggravation, grief, etc. , and buy something that will work.

Expected Windows, got Linux (I think). The new system stinks. So many things I don’t like about that I could almost write a novel on them. So, about $600 just wasted. Computer is just sitting there until I can work out how to get the rotten OS off it COMPLETELY then install windows.

I’m disappointed that Good Guys did not make that point clear. When Good Guys were approached, they said contact Lenovo as it might just need a quick fix through their tech support. After buying 2 computers and a washinging machine (recently —- and other items in the past) My love affair with Good Guys has sadly come to an end.

I find the total experience very disappointing. To finish. I am just saying how I feel about this purchase. I made the purchase, I should have looked into this purchase more. I mistakenly trusted where I should not have.

Got this to run the Adobe CC Suite. Put it through the ringer so far with Photoshop, Audition, Premiere, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, and more and so far has handled all of them like a champ. One thing I didn’t see that it had was the RJ55 ethernet port built into the power supply, which is a nice touch.

I bought a USB-C adapter as a hub for a card reader, USB interface, external monitor, and ethernet, but it turns out I now have an extra wired network adapter if needed. Packaging was superb. The outer box was very sturdy and very discrete, and the inner box was a very sturdy and well secured box with the traditional Apple style presentation.

It would take quite a drop to damage in shipping. The 4. 5K screen is super sharp and very responsive. So far a great machine for photo and video design and editing.

On sale, this laptop is a steal. The i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD are typically only available for much more. Even at MSRP, this laptop is rather competitive. The display is top notch and 1080p is very reasonable at this size.

The colors pop and Samsung’s included display settings allow some tweaking to the color profile to make the colors more or less vivid. The max brightness is perfectly fine for any indoor viewing; I haven’t tested the outdoor mode, but I’m sure it helps with visibility.

The inclusion of a touch display and 2-in-1 form factor is an added touch which has been useful in a couple situations but isn’t something I ordinarily use. Performance of this laptop on Windows 11 is great, able to handle any normal tasks without a hitch.

I noticed the laptop thermal throttles when CPU is at 100% for more than a couple minutes but this isn’t a typical scenario. The laptop is very slim and I’m not surprised that it doesn’t have the best cooling solution in the world, but it is more than adequate for most use cases.

Normally I get about 10 hours of use throughout the day with web browsing, programming and video streaming – this could likely be increased without Bluetooth headphones or if I changed the power settings in Windows.

Keyboard is perfectly fine – I’m used to mechanical switches but this reminds me of my old Macbook Air but slightly less mushy, overall a good typing experience. The right SHIFT key is slightly smaller to make room the fingerprint sensor but I’ve adapted considerably since I first purchased the computer.

This laptop is a great buy when on sale, and still reasonably competitive when at MSRP. The touch screen, port selection (USB-A ports and full-sized HDMI are being phased out in other laptop lines to make room for Thunderbolt), and specs all lend themselves to the future useability of this laptop.

Would recommend this laptop.

Overall this is a super impressive machine for the price and punches well above it’s weight. Build quality is very good with reasonably high quality materials and a solid feel without much flex. Keyboard feels great to type on with the exception of the shortened right shift key which is annoying and takes some getting used to.

This leads into the fingerprint sensor which works fine but is in a bizarre location, one of the main flaws of this machine. Trackpad is fine once it’s used a bit. Screen is an absolute standout here, one of the better ones I’ve used recently and easily of the quality I’d expect to see in a laptop priced much higher.

Performance is fine, exactly what you would expect and works fine for web browsing and content consumption. I’d probably suggest most people go the tier higher with 16GB RAM though, but if you know 8 is going to be fine for your use case this will work fine.

Battery life on this is exceptional, I’ve been very surprised by how long it lasts going easily a full day of use between charges. This leads to the main flaw here which is no USB-C charging which is borderline a deal breaker on a machine of this class.

Having to carry an extra, non-standard charger is super frustrating and a problem most laptops in this range do not have. I’d still recommend because everything else about the package is really fantastic, but the lack of USB-C charging keeps it from a top rating.

I purchased this laptop after looking at several different Windows 11 alternatives including Surface Laptops. I had one of the original Surface laptops from 2017 and it was time to upgrade. This beauty kept popping up so I finally went in and bought it.

Very happy with my purchase with a couple of minor complaints. First and this has been discussed in the Q&A, the backlighting doesn’t stay on unless you cover up the sensor next to the blue power light on the left hand side of the laptop.

The fix is simple; I took a black magic marker and colored a VERY small piece of paper and taped it over the sensor. Worked like a charm! The second minor complaint is the keyboard keys are very light; hence the need for backlighting.

Not a problem in well-lit rooms but it can be a challenge in spaces where light is at a premium. The laptop comes with Windows 11 Home but I upgraded to Windows 11 Pro for the security. Having 16MB of RAM makes it so easy to run multiple programs and conduct Zoom calls while running Powerpoint.

This laptop is blazing fast and responsive. The trackpad is quite sensitive but you can adjust the sensitivity in the settings. There’s no bloatware to speak of and setup is a breeze. If you backup your files to OneDrive, you’ll be up and running in less than five minutes.

The screen is vivid and crisp. To be expected with Samsung products. Intel graphics engine makes creating brochures or presentations easy and swift. I have found my productivity increasing by 65% over the past two weeks.

This is a must buy for anyone seeking a small lightweight laptop that possesses all the attributes of a powerful desktop.

Although this looks like a low performance processor compared to a Pro, I run professional development software on it and it’s actually very very good. Under the right circumstances it will compete against a 2.

5 i7 Pro on some tasks. It’s not a toy, it is very light, compact and capable laptop. One USB socket is crazy as you have to buy a hub for anything other than powering it at the same time, e. g,. timemachine backups.

Warning though. Although brand-new I am getting down arrow key failures already and it’s clear this fault will be on all of them, you have to press on the left of they key, the middle or right is ignored.

Question is, should I return it, after all, even with this discount, it £1000??? Trouble is I need MacOs and this form factor is great. I also have a MB Pro, 15 for official work stuff anyway. For anything but the most demanding user, the power will be fine, it’ll turbo but it will get hot.

When I first opened the package, I was pleasantly delighted. The laptop is well-protected and wrapped. It hasn’t been scratched in any way. There isn’t a single hairline scratch anywhere on the computer, and the screen is in perfect shape.

It’s not an aftermarket charger; it’s a genuine Apple charger. The computer appears to be brand new. There are no dings, dents, or blemishes on it. I’m amazed at how good this laptop is, it was a 2017 model rather than a 2015.

I love my MacBook Air. I purchased it for school because I was getting tired of carrying my previous heavy backpack around with me all day when I have to walk miles throughout the day to get to all of my classes.

It’s light, fast, and meets all my needs. I’ve had the same one for almost four years now. I will say I have noticed it’s a bit slower than when it was new, but I think I could resolve this by reducing how much storage I’m using.

The main thing that was kind of disappointing at the time is that there’s no disk drive (cd or dvd). I used to enjoy making mixed CDs. At this point I use Spotify and don’t really need that feature. If you just need a laptop for school any MacBook is a great choice IMO.

Even buying one of these used would be superior to a newer non Mac laptop.

I ordered this MacBook Air in black for my nephew who is in high school as a Christmas present. I’ve been using macs for over 25 yrs now. I am typing this on a MacBook Pro that is over 10 yrs old. (never spent a dime on any repairs) I have a newer MB Air I use for travel that I got here back in 2017, an ipad w/keybd 2019 I still have not used, both still looks and works like new.

You just cannot destroy these suckers they are so good!! Back in 2007 I even spilled a little acetone (doing my nails, I advise against that to anyone) on my Mac 17in at the time it was 3 -4yrs old. I guess some droplets got on the board.

It caused the battery to pop out on the underside and I could not get it back, it kinda bubbled up. I propped it up. I thought I ruined it. it worked fine for many years after (I lovingly call it my FrankinMac) until I got the 2010 MacBook I am typing on now.

I still used my FrankinMac for a few yrs after that in my garage gym for videos/movies while working out. I bet it is still in my new house garage waiting for someone to fired it up. These Mac are expensive at first glance.

or more expensive than others, but that is bc you will still be using them one, two decades later. To me that makes this a very inexpensive computer. My very happy nephew will be able to use his MacBook Air thru the remaining of his highs school years, college and probably beyond that.

I am pleased with my recent order of this pre-built desktop. I ordered through Google Shopping and received it at a significant discount of $660 and a total of $700 after taxes and variable cash back options.

It arrived in about a week all the way from Ontario, CA through UPS. Be prepared that the box is relatively large as the tower is protected by massive styrofoam holders, a nice solid drawstring cover, and an inflatable packaging inside the tower to protect the components.

Setup itself took about 5-10 minutes. I noticed a piece of paper saying to use the “Quick Start Guide” before powering on the device, but no such thing existed with all the other paperwork. I just googled “Skytech quick start guide” and found a simple webpage with various instructions to check components before turning it on.

Very easy and “newbie” friendly in case this is your first gaming PC. The tempered glass easily swings open and close to look at components and monitor the machine. The RGB lighting has various options for the fans which is nice and the keyboard/mouse also light up.

However, the keyboard and mouse are wired only and as such is kind of awkward to use if your tower is not directly beside you and stretches away. Minor issues as they work flawlessly otherwise (but the small backspace button is a bit annoying to get used to) Inside, I had an ASUS GeForce GTX 1660 6gb graphics card, TeamForce 2×8 GB RAM already set to 3000 MHZ, 500GB Seagate Barrcuda SSD, ASRock motherboard, and the 4 fans (3 with RGB lighting).

The cabling was also mostly professional and relatively hidden away. The monitor has continuous fans going and on current usage of just browsing and indie games is never above 35* degrees. One small issue is I found on the back of the monitor where the motherboard ISO connects is some ports look like they are bent/cracked.

This does not affect being able to plug anything in at the moment. It looks like mostly cosmetic damage from possible shipping/handling and bumping around on the journey across the country. All in all, I am satisfied and feel I received a good value product for the price.

0b port, 1 DVI-D port, and 1 DisplayPort 1. 4, rather than 1 HDMI and 3 DisplayPorts; (2) there is no PS/2, VGA, or DVI-D connector and only 4 USB 3. 0 ports; (3) the motherboard graphics port is non-functional, because the processor does not include integrated graphics (in case the graphics card fails).

– Keyboard: (1) it does not include separate media keys, as pictured on the website, so volume control requires holding the FN key on the bottom right with the F2-F4 buttons on the top left, (2) the backlighting can only be changed to a handful of rainbow RGB settings (uniform color options are preferable), and (3) the backspace key is the same size as the letter keys (I am used to an oversized backspace key that is easier to find).

Otherwise, the keyboard seems to be of high quality, and key presses are relatively quiet. – The cooling fans that push air out the top of computer run continuously, regardless of the internal temperature, so there is always some noise.

However, they are relatively quiet. – There is no way to turn off the RGB lighting on the tower, but at least it can be set to a single solid color.

I’ve had this PC for nearly two weeks now and I’ve never been happier. It’s beautiful, the white casing is clean looking, the RGB lights are vibrant and it has a decent amount of presets to choose from and I catch myself changing presets constantly (although the pink one is cute!).

The WiFi has a really strong connection (hits right at the 150-160mbps mark for me, I get 150mbps with my internet provider so it may vary!!). The delivery was on time, packaging was well done and PC was well protected.

I really love the “testing” card they include in the package to show you that it indeed does work and was tested prior to leaving Skytech’s care. This is the perfect starting PC for anyone that’s ready to ditch the laptops (ME!!!!) and I’m so happy my husband found this one for me! The mouse and keyboard doesn’t seem cheaply made, I have yet to try the keyboard but I am currently using the mouse.

At first the scroll wheel felt a bit too “firm” to push down, but it has seemed to have improved over the past nearly two weeks, the mouse lights change colors and it has a really nice braided-type cord to protect it.

the cursor speed has a CPI button as well which made me really happy as these two do not have a program with them.

Bought this even though it had no reviews (but I looked at the seller reviews first!!!). I was really scared I would be disappointed, but this exceeded my expectations i’m so glad I bought it! It was a little early Christmas gift for myself:D Mine had absolutely no scratches or dents, it literally looked like it’d never been touched! Couple of things: -This is refurbished (but I already knew this as the title says “A Grade” and the in depth description mentions this) -It comes with Apple brand power adapter as well as the cable -It does not come in an Apple box (if this is something that’s important to you, you can find an empty one on eBay) -All items came with warranty stickers (I did not buy any special warranty or anything) -It arrived by the $100 shipping date even though I chose the free shipping date! I bought this computer with the hope that I would be spending a lot of money for a product that would last a long time. I have had nothing but problems with this computer, from the fan over-heating at simple tasks, to the wifi not working when a flash drive is plugged in, to keys and the touch pad sticking.

My current issue is that my screen has turned black and I can’t figure out how to fix it (no sign of physical damage). I wish that I had saved myself money and strife and gotten a different brand.

I finally made the switch from Windows to Mac. Just about had it with Windows 8/10, but that’s another story. This machine is of course designed and machined beautifully, and MacOS matches the build quality in most ways (especially compared to Windows).

However, there are a couple of issues that are really not acceptable considering the price point. One, getting my HP2740w to work has been a real pain. I have tried the Caldigit USB-C Dock, the Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Express HD dock, and now the Caldigit TS3.

The Caldigit USB-C dock had the most issues, with flickering / on off problems, and no wake from sleep. The Belkin was working wonderfully for a few days, but then no wake from sleep to external display.

And now I just started using the Caldigit TS3, so I can’t say if it’s going to be any better. Before you say this may be a dock issue, I have read about people having this problem with a straight USB-C to Displayport adapter, and even with the LG 5K Ultrafine display that was co-developed with Apple.

Also, MacOS constantly complains about my WD MyBook external HD being improperly disconnected, even though I haven’t touched anything. Digging into this issue confirms it is most likely a MacOS bug. The Apple support communities are filled with people asking for help, and it seems Apple never responds there.

So all in all, five stars for the build quality and OS design, but serious points off for things that “should just work”, but they don’t. I would still recommend the computer, because MacOS is still just night and day better than Windows.

Ok, here we go. So, I know how to build computers. As my aging setup was hinting stronger and stronger by the day that indeed an upgrade may be necessary, I came across this offer from Dell. A 3060Ti you say? Nice and recent i7 processor? You’ve got my interest.

So here I am with my new Dell, which I honestly swore I’d never have once upon a time, opening it up for the first time and finding an utter mess inside. An expensive PC, and no case fans where case fans should be.

A new i7 belching out heat with a stock puck cooler to attempt to keep up with it. Luckily I did my homework beforehand and knew to get a couple additional case fans and a new CPU cooler, all in all another $60 just to get it up to a low end benchmark of the hardware provided.

OEM GPU, proprietary PSU, and the motherboard is mounted directly on to the case, so no rear access on this thing. What that also means is that your upgrade path is screwed, because you can’t use this motherboard, power supply unit, or case in any other builds.

Yes, it is an upgrade over my i5 6500/RX 480 setup, but when I bench it most of the components are in the bottom 10th percentile or lower. The motherboard also only supports a low speed of memory so high speed RAM over 3000 is out of the question.

Now, I will speak of how it actually runs after I added 2 case fans and an aftermarket CPU cooler. I can run any game I’ve tried so far (haven’t run Cyberpunk yet but you all have probably seen that one is tough for any GPU) on max settings 1440 over 60fps, and mostly in the 80 range.

It’s been pretty quiet even at full gaming load, although just like my last i7 it’s basically a space heater that makes my room blazing hot even in winter. The look of the case itself is unassuming and I’d think most people will think it’s just a normal crappy desktop.

I like that, I’m not all about the flashy cases, and it reminds me of a childhood computer many, many years ago. Overall, my opinion on this computer is kind of love/hate. I’m not sending it back as I really like the gains from my last setup, but if I was designing this computer, I guarantee that it would have better airflow and thus more thermal efficiency than whoever decided on this layout.

I mean come on, the CPU thermal throttles quite easily without an aftermarket CPU. Seems like this wasn’t even tested. If you want to spend an hour or more on fans before you boot it up, this is the one for you.

If it wasn’t for the dreadful GPU landscape right now I’d send it back.

Some years ago, I purchased a top of the line laptop just after I retired, but my usage pattern has settled into one where almost everything I do on it is done in my home office using it with a big monitor.

So, I decided it was time to consider getting a desktop PC, thus freeing my laptop for mobile use. Or maybe I’ll just sell it. Anyway, I’m not a gamer at all. So I didn’t need a separate graphics card.

What I wanted was a unit that was powerful enough for all my office applications and for some programming work. I’m a former software engineer and I still like to do a little “recreational” programming from time to time.

That’s where multiple monitors really come in handy. Handy too for financial work. I’ve never owned a Dell PC, but I was impressed with the ease of ordering, the configurability and the price. Since requirements sometimes change unexpectedly, I was looking for something I could upgrade if need be.

The Dell XPS 8940 Desktop with Core i7-11700 cpu, 32Gb RAM, 512Gb SSD and 500w power supply satisfied all my immediate requirements at a good price point, with room to expand in future if needed. One concern I had was whether a desktop would be quiet enough.

But with the SSD and no add-on video card, there’s barely any noise at all coming from it. The internal CPU fan is whisper quiet. In comparison, my laptop (which also had an SSD) sounds unbelievably noisy.

I guess I had learned to live with it, but I sure noticed once I had switched. I paired this unit with a Dell 27-inch S2721D QHD monitor, which now serves as my primary monitor. My secondary monitor, which used to be the laptop display, is now my old 24 inch-monitor.

The Dell is connected via DisplayPort and runs at 2560×1440. The old monitor is connected via HDMI and runs at it’s resolution limit of 1900×1200. I find that text is perfectly readable on both monitors.

There’s no glaring difference in size. Clarity is a bit better on the Dell. Recently I’ve been doing some mass photo editing: copying picture files and applying geotags and other EXIF properties. The speed of the SSD is phenomenal.

Way faster than the SSD in my old laptop. The Killer Wi-Fi card seems really fast, though I only have 802. 11ac in my home. Recently I had bought a USB wi-fi adaptor for my laptop because its built-in adaptor was limited to 802.

11n. The improvement was dramatic — but the Dell Killer Wi-Fi adaptor seems faster still. I had a large number of files to copy around so I used Windows robocopy to exploit the multiprocessor capabilities of the i7-11700.

Even though the network and disk were bottlenecks, putting 14 threads to work on the copying seemed to make things go much faster. In summary, I’m loving this PC. It’s powerful, quiet, fast and has lots of room for future expansion.

Pros: Very quick, lovely graphics (although I am not a gamer). Nicely designed and easily upgradable with two spare 2. 5” bays and one extra 3. 5” bay. Two more spare RAM slots and two three rear 1/2 board slots.

I have used DELL support a couple of the times and they have been great even with the included Basic Support package. Cons: The two spare 2. 5” bays already have a nearby splitter for power to both bays but only one SATA connection available.

The motherboard has a spare unused SATA connection so had to buy SATA cable. This meant that the 3. 5” bay was unusable. Seems to be short sighted to give spare bays and no ability to use all of them.

Also only the first 2. 5” bay comes with a plastic disk adaptor so I had to buy one on EBay. This are niggles really, I love the PC but after spending a lot of money, it feels a little disappointing to immediately be buying a cable, a disk caddy and have a extra bay not usable simply for the need of another SATA connection on the motherboard.

Hopefully some has a solution that I would love to hear.

Installing Windows 10 Pro on this was the weirdest install I’ve ever had of windows. It did not get any of the default basic drivers outside of a VGA driver (including network as in there was NO network drivers).

After loading up a USB with drivers from another PC things eventually sorted themselves out. Where things get problematic is sometimes it’s restart times are long. I put a Samsung 980 M2 drive so it should be in the 1 minute to 30 seconds range at worse.

Sometimes I’ll just shut down and black screen on reboot for well over 10 minutes before getting into the boot load screen. It also will crash in such a way that Windows doesn’t realize it slowly died.

Audio will work but it won’t output to screen, then network will fade. Sometimes you can catch it before the network dies and use a remote desktop app to shut it down. You can go into the logs and there won’t be any errors leading up to this, just the errors that the PC did not shut down properly.

Speaking of networking, the network card is one if you google many have issues with. It is a flaky ethernet network card. Intel’s tools report errors with it but it works. The real issue is that it sometimes forgets its capable of over 100mbps.

Some have said remove the device and fresh install the drivers (there’s a few driver sets that intel provides), and all have had this issue even if you remove device, then reboot, then install, then reboot then test.

Not sure how long I will keep with this. Probably longer than I’d like due to licenses bound do this machine (i. e. Windows 10 Pro and Office. ). It is at least quiet unless the CPU gets above 50% utilization.

I’ve built many PCs over the last 25 years and this is the most problematic one I’ve ever had. Despite being a couple months old the problems are at the point where I’d consider building a new one because it’s old and I’ve upgraded parts over the years and is beyond that fixing.

I really like these NUCs for their versatility, compact size, and reasonable cost. Grab some RAM and an SSD and you’re good to go, no fussing with installing processors, fitting components in cases, or hooking up power supplies.

I used this particular product as an ERP server for a small business, and have used other NUCs for applications like two-way radio dispatch consoles, audio recorders, and media servers. VESA mounting and rackmount kits available from third parties make it super versatile.

I’m knocking off a single star for the lack of a dedicated audio input/output. Unfortunately the availability of quality speakers that work over USB without a 3. 5mm connection is limited, so I’ve had to use an external DAC which adds cost and increases footprint.

I can understand leaving it out of the short models, but I really wish one was included on the tall models. Otherwise, very happy with these machines.

I’d been waiting for one of the newer generations of NUCs to be available. There are a few notes: 1. The DisplayPort via USB C works reasonably well but needs to be set in firmware as primary to keep a connected HDMI port from taking priority.

2. While the dual-LAN daughterboard is pictured, the daughterboard is not included in the models ending with “TNH” (HIGH), instead those are labeled “TNL” (LAN). 3. Given the daughterboard is not available, one bonus to the extra port is that it’s a standard PCIe x1 Gen 3: M.

2 22×42 (key B) that works with a 42mm B-key SATA SSD 4. When mounting to the back of the monitor, this has a slightly looser fit compared to the 8th and 10th gen models. This shouldn’t be an issue in normal use and is slightly more convenient to ensure it’s properly in-position as well as being easier to remove from the mounting plate as needed for servicing.

If you don’t need the ability to add the daughterboard, don’t need the extra M. 2 22×42 slot for storage, and are okay with trading one USB port for a dedicated miniDP, the NUC11PAHi7 was an earlier model, is currently priced slightly lower, and is nearly identical (according to Intel ARK) to the newer NUC11TNHi7 so both versions are worthy of consideration for a new purchase.
