Best Computers For 3D Rendering (2024 Updated)

This is my first gaming PC. I’ve always been a Mac user (and still am) but I needed to finally move on from my greatly upgraded 2010 Mac Pro with RX580 for my gaming needs. I could not be happier with my purchase! This PC is perfect for 1080p gaming at the highest settings.

The RX 6600 is probably twice as fast as my old RX 580. It’s also an extremely powerful all-around PC with plenty of RAM and a powerful i7 eight core CPU. The SSD is a 480gb WD Blue SN550 NVMe. The 1tb HDD is a Seagate barracuda.

I swapped the HDD out with a 2. 5 1TB SSD and added an additional 2. 5 1TB SSD, both from my old rig, and both in the case’s two drive bay. There is additional room to mount at least two or three more 2.

5 SSDs in the case as well as an additional M. 2 slot on the ASRock B560m-c motherboard. There are also three free PCIe slots and two free RAM slots, so the machine can be highly expanded and upgraded down the road.

So far the 600watt power supply is fine and has plenty of power cables included for expansion. The case is super sleek, yet heavy duty, totally made of tempered glass and black metal; no cheap plastic.

And the whole thing is suprisingly quiet with the fans really only being noticeable when the GPU is under load. I highly reccomend this PC! It’s a great price and should be more than powerful enough for many years to come, especially since it’s so easy to upgrade its components if needed.

I purchased the SlateMR on Sale, about 15% off its regular retail. Before I get into details, the computer made it through about 8 hours of use and broke. I’m very displeased, i upgraded my internet, purchased games, all in preparation of this computer.

The computer itself ran games smooth, and hardly ever got hot. But randomly probably during the weakest load I had it under, playing Grim Dawn 10gb game(Think Diablo 2) and a steam store window open.

The power supply failed. I have owned the computer for four totals days, and it broke the first day I actually used it with internet. Ibuypower customer support has a few options on repair. Send, wait, get new part.

Advance them money wait two weeks for a power year. inc power supply to arrive on the slow boat from China. Now they say it has 600w, that they’ll replace it with a 650w, so it is a known problem but the brand is garbage, I understand inflation on graphics cards, but lets face it, a gtx3060 before the crypto farming craze, was about 360-450$ I am not seeing where the rest of the money is spent inside this thing, very poor build quality.

I knew a pre-build was a risk, I expected problems at some point, but day 1. Total fail, i can’t recover the drive, hopefully Best Buy can help us with a swap or return, because it doesn’t seem like I’m going to receive much effort on Ibuypower’s end.

Hopefully this can help you make the right upgrades, or steer to a higher quality pre-build.

Have had the PC for less than 2 weeks. It randomly turned off in the middle of editing a photo and would not turn back on. I was watching the temps on it and it was not overheating or having any issues running, no warning signs, it just shut down.

Tried different outlets, different power strips, the wall outlet, no luck. Did a little research and it sounds like the PSU died. Absolutely pathetic that it can’t handle more than 8 days of use. I chose this PC because about 2 weeks ago when looking at it, it was the best reviewed one in my price range.

So I have a theory that A. IBP started using cheaper and less reliable PSUs within the last month or so of manufacturing (as there are wayyyy more 1 star reviews than there were when I first looked at this PC, and they all mention the same issue I’m having) or B.

Everyone who wrote a positive review was paid to lie. A $1300 GAMING computer should be able to run a simple app like photoshop without dying. If it can’t, maybe IBP needs to switch to making/selling a product that’s closer to their skill level.

Like those digital watches that come in cereal boxes.

A very compact computer that is a bit underwhelming as a CAD workstation – you can only put in a mediocre GPU with a 35W T-class CPU before the PSU start struggling – so you won’t be looking at a rendering beast or modelling an international airport in LOD500.

But that is entirely missing the point – this is not a Workstation. This is a 1 litre chassis that has – AMT management, – official Ubuntu support (if that helps procurement signing it off), – 2x SODIMM slots up to 2x32GB, – 2x PCI-E4 x4 NVMe bays, and – an internal PCI-E3 x8 Half height expansion bay allowing non-proprietary cards.

This combination of factors make the P350 Tiny fairly unique in the SERVER market. The flexibility the PCI-E slot makes this a very versatile edge solution – with a single 40GbE QSFP+ NIC like a MCX353A-QCBT you can have a low footprint on prem storage/SQL etc solution; with a small Quadro you can have a competent CUDA compute node; with a PCI-E capture card you can have a video capture station you can stick behind a VESA monitor.

The possibilities are endless. The only thing to consider is whether 11th Gen P350 warrants the higher price over its older siblings 10th Gen P340 and 8/9th Gen P330, which still offers everything listed above at a bargain price.

However if you are reading thisreview when Alder Lake P360 is already out – do have a think about those as the Efficiency cores might drastically improve the utility of a small node like this.

The system overall is a work of art, it’s amazing. The problem was the fact that I got a custom brand new system which took 2 months to come in, then when it came, 2/4 ram slots did not read anything.

I called premium support (signed up for 5 years) which they did a diagnosis and came to realize that the motherboard might be DOA. So, they send a NEW RAM to diagnosis. Tech came in the next day to diagnose, figured it was a dead motherboard, so the tech called lenovo to send in the motherboard.

I did get the motherboard on the next day in which lenovo sent out a tech after 1 day of the part arriving. problem was, the motherboard that the factory sent is again DOA. so they had to send out another motherboard, took another 2 days to get the tech.

fortunately the tech from peopletogo was amazing and accomodating, he installed the new motherboard and the PC was finally up and running! After being so excited, I started installing all the programs and all and yet again found that the microsoft office I have bought is a subscription and not a permanent license.

(when I bought my old lenovo t470p, the option for microsoft office on the first page of building your system was always permanent, now it’s not) So, be wary of what software you purchase!!! read them first because lenovo wont tell you it’s a subscription.

overall experience is terrible but like I said, the PC is a work of art. I am just overall sad.

While I would like this to be a more glowing review it cannot be yet. The P350 Tiny I received was packaged well and setup was easy. It is small and sleek looking if you want it on your desk, it can also be invisible mounted underneath it.

Unfortunately, that has been the only parts to go smoothly. We placed our first P350 Tiny Workstation order on 2/23 for overnight delivery. That order was delayed and then cancelled for “security concerns” on 2/27 and that top model was no longer available then.

Our 2nd attempt P350 Tiny Workstation ordered on 2/27 and arrived on 3/2. As of this writing on 3/13 it still will not boot to windows. Support has been slow to resolve the problem. The BIOS system checks all pass.

When turned on we receive an error stating Windows failed to install click ok to restart your computer and reinstall Windows. We received the same error fresh out of the box, using the recovery partition, and using the USB recovery media downloaded from the web site.

This has been very frustrating to date.

I want to preface this review, saying that I hold none of this against Best Buy in particular. But it was a very bad customer experience overall with this purchase. Okay, so, I was super excited to have this computer.

Purchased it at the store after some deliberation with myself. Took it home, started the unboxing process, and started to make room at my desk and the surrounding area to hook up the new PC. Did all the preparatory work, removing the foam inserts from inside the computer case, etc.

Connected my monitor, plugged everything in, and then powered on the PC. Went through the initialization of windows, connected to wifi, and then I was greeted with the Windows 11 login. Okay, we’re off to a good start.

I first started updating Software by running Windows Update. I like to keep everything current. Everything is running fine at this point. Hmm, then I realize that Windows isn’t activated. I try activating it.

It prompts me saying that the key for this system is wrong. Okay, fine. I look up how to find my windows key in cmd. Go through that process, and then get Windows activated. That was no big deal really, just annoying, but it is understandable.

What’s not understandable is what comes ten minutes later when the power supply in my brand new PC takes its own life! That’s right. My brand new PC’s power supply whilst in the middle of setting it up decides to push up some daises and go dark.

Great! I spend about thirty minutes troubleshooting the PC. Maybe I accidently did something? Okay, well, I’ll call tech support I suppose while I’m also troubleshooting the issue on my own. I Dial them up and go through the telephone maze, hitting numbers to get me connected to where I need to be connected to.

Okay, cool. The automated voice says I should be on hold for only ten minutes. Hey, that’s not too bad. So, I’m on hold, and I take off the panels of the PC and inspect it over. I’m making sure all the power connectors are seated fully, and I check that the RAM is seated good as well.

Looking it over and I cannot find a single thing wrong with it. I try another power on, and the PC does get a quick little bit of juice and then stops immediately after. Clearly, this is a power supply issue I think to myself, but I hold out a little hope.

Now, having already been on hold for thirty minutes, the automated voice tells me I should be on hold for about ten minutes. Then ten minutes later it tells me I should be on hold for about 90 minutes.

Okay, fine. I just want to get this PC going so I can go on with my life. A customer shouldn’t have to deal with stuff like this. An hour and a half go by, and I finally get someone on the line. I told him the issue with the computer, and he tells me, “Well either take it back or buy a new power supply”.

Okay. Normally I would have no problem taking back a PC, but you can’t buy anything you want these days because of the pandemic, hoarders, scalpers, delivery shortages, silicon shortages, etc. The dude on the line offered nothing, and I knew I wasn’t going to get anywhere with it.

No offer of fixing it, nothing. The dude could tell I was angry, but we quickly ended the call. I didn’t cuss at him, berate him, or anything, but it was a really crappy experience (I could tell he was worried I was going to explode on him but I didn’t).

The dude wasn’t sympathetic or understanding at all, he just wanted to get me off the phone. That’s the only way I can describe how the call went. It was an hour and half wait for a thirty second conversation with no concern or possible resolutions really offered to me other than those aforementioned.

So, now I have to repackage this PC back into its box and take it back to Best Buy. Which I do. But I opted to buy a new power supply instead of returning it. I wanted THIS SPECIFIC PC, and there are absolutely no other options available to me at the store because they have like a total of two other desktop computers in stock, and this was the ONLY one of this specific model.

So, I bought a Corsair (850m I believe the model is, I don’t have it nearby to look at). This was another purchase that cost me an additional $130 dollars. Yay! Took the PC and power supply back home, and then set about removing the old non-modular power supply from the case and installing the new power supply.

The whole uninstallation and installation took approximately about an hour because it is indeed a rats nest of cables to work around, but I got it installed fairly prompt. Did a test power-on on the kitchen table, and it did indeed power-on.

Cool. I have a PC now. It works just fine now that I put in my own BRAND NEW power supply. Thanks IBUYPOWER. You will not be a consideration for anything in my future. I may be using one of your computers currently, but your terrible customer service will steer me wide and clear of you in the future.

Honestly, if we weren’t in the current situation with the silicon shortage and all around shortages, and scalpers, I would’ve been building my own PC instead of buying this pre-built. But, most of us know that isn’t really an option that is on the table these days, and I needed a new computer.

I guess if anyone else has problems, I would tell them to deal with customer service on the phone, but MAKE THEM DO SOMETHING about the problem. Unlike how I did. I just knew I wasn’t going to get anywhere with the guy on the phone.

To those that don’t have much of an option these days with buying a new PC, these are viable option, however, as my review will relate, you are indeed rolling the dice. Unfortunately, due to everything I’ve experienced I have to rate this product as a 1 star.

The overall value of the system could be good, had I not experienced this. But, it begs the question of how long will other people’s power supplies in their same models of this PC last? Yikes!.

So ive had this unit for a few months now. I got it to start trying my hand at PCVR. Let me be clear- this PC is no slouch and has plenty of ports for peripherals- but trying to have stable game play in a flight simulator (DCS) HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE.

I finally figured out how to diagnose and fix the issues i was having. That said it has cost me nearly 1000 more dollars to get the CPU cooler and Power Supply i needed to be able to support my venture.

I havent tried any other games because i primarily use consoles to game but needed something stronger for flying. For the money im sure its a stable platform for the average gamer- but not for VR. cooling that comes from the factory is garbage.

If youre looking for something that will handle XMPs, Overclocks, and VR, save another 500-1000$ and get a bigger rig with better components and cooling. It will be worth it in the long run. Again- highly biased review based on what my goal was and is for this unit, but im disappointed in the unit and the sales person who advised me this would be more than sufficient to run such a game.

This review is written by a long time builder and enjoyer of custom gaming pcs. What you get in the box complete assembled pc, power cord, mouse and keyboard and very limited setup instructions. The nice thing is its very plug and play with a monitor.

The RGB looks good with the clear side panels. Everything comes apart easily to look inside. Cable management is well done. The 3070 that came with it has a support bracket to prevent sag. The Gpu has 1 hdmi and 3 display port slots on it.

USB ports on the mobo, I felt very limited by only 4 on the back. 2. 5gb nic port if you have a network setup to support it. Inside you have two mounting brackets on the back for 2. 5″ drives and on the inside you have two 3.

5″ mounting brackets. You get a 1tb nvme pci gen 4 drive preinstalled with windows 11. Setup is fairly quick and painless minus being forced into windows 11. Temps are pretty solid I ran some cpu stress test and it kept the processor around 90c so 10c of head room there.

Overall if you want something to just plug in and game away this will take care of you with the i7 12700 cpu and 16gb ddr5 ram and gen 4 ssd/nvidia 3070. Here’s what I didn’t like: the bios are terrible for a gaming pc.

They literally locked down just about everything that a “gamer” would want to play with. Want XMP on your ram. get ready to buy some new ram because the included ram is not certified for xmp. Want to adjust your fan curve to your liking.

nope you can only increase how fast they spin. Want to know more about the mobo running your new pc. nope its proprietary good luck finding any info on it or adjusting anything. There was no QVL list included so if you want to find compatible ram it’s a best guess or you have to contact their support.

this should be included with it hands down. The RGB software is kind of annoying I set a static color then if I reboot I have to reload the software and reset the color again. This “gaming” pc will play games no issues the hardware is more than adequate, but I was just overall very disappointed in the limited options they present to the end user.

I think Acer needs to actually talk with or interview some average run of the mill gamers and ask what kinds of things they want to see in a prebuilt rig instead of making all the choices they “think” we want.

Things I would have changed if I had the say to do so: More USB ports, better rgb software, more options in the bios under an “advanced” option in the bios for people who want more control. I would make documentation more readily available about QVL for memory and more documentation about the motherboard.

I purchased a customized HZ2 G8 Tower. It replaced my HP Z210 I bought in 2012. That was customized by HP as well. It served me well for 9 years in my graphic design business. My new computer is everything I needed.

It is fast and runs well. The HP business sales engineer helped me customize it for my needs. I bought a computer with the same philosophy as the last one. That is to but a machine that will grow with your needs and the base of future technology.

I do most of my work in Adobe Illustrator and photoshop. Those programs upgrade constantly and put more demand on the machine. The Z2 G8 will keep up with it I am sure. The Z210 did for 9 demanding years.

I am happy with my purchase and the HP business workstations do not disappoint!.

I’m loving it. I got this to replace a really under powered laptop that I was using for photo editing. This PC is so much faster, more reliable and just a nice piece of hardware to use. I did upgrade the RAM, add a Wi-fi card and a SSD for extra data storage after purchasing but mostly because I wanted to get the PC that was already in-stock and not wait for a custom build.

I didn’t price out what the difference was doing it this way but it was easy enough and got me up and running a lot faster 🙂 The only reason I gave it 4 stars was cause I didn’t realize that the SD card reader slot was not populated on all models of the Z2 G8 so when I tried to stick a card in to tansfer a batch of photos I felt a little sad.

The reader is available for after-market purchase but its backordered for 3-4 months. oh well. Overall I’m thrilled with this system :).

I’m only giving this a low rating because it didn’t come with a wireless card. I never actually got a chance to use it other than trying to boot it up and figure out why the wireless wasn’t working but I’m sure it’s great.

It may just be me but I find it a little misleading that the website doesn’t mention the lack of a wireless internet card, which has been standard on PCs for a very long time. I own a lot of HP products and have been buying them for almost 20 years so I love HP.

It would be a lot better for people if they made it clear that this type of PC (unlike their others like the mini Z2) doesn’t have wireless. I traded this in for my second Z2 and am very happy with that one.

I bought it 2 weeks ago and its been great, super user friendly and is really well designed. It looks thin and sleek and definitely fits the creator look

Just Started using it today and loveit so far! Excited to use the dial and adjust settings as well as take the gaming for a spin.

I love this All-In-One Thinkcentre as I do graphic design and was definitely getting tired of trying to do home-based work on a laptop screen. This is a great system. However, I would have given this review 5-stars but for one experience that made getting the system set up a great difficulty.

When I was ordering it I did NOT realize I had to specify wanting a wi-fi adapter installed on it. I just assumed the capability came with it as the specifications do not make it obviously clear to the buyer.

So, it could not pick-up my wi-fi signal to connect to the internet, which caused me a nightmare of trying to determine why. I tried different wireless routers to pick up a signal and resorted to hooking it up directly to my living room router via an ethernet cable.

Definitely not what I wanted to do since my home office is another room of my house and I was not going to have cables and extentions running down the floor of my hallway to get the internet. After finally determining that there was no wi-fi capability in the system AT ALL I bought a wireless adapter add-on that plugs into a USB port on the back of the monitor.

That worked perfectly and I was able to set up my home office. So my one complaint is that Lenovo should make it VERY clear that a buyer needs to specify the wi-fi capability installed or they will need an add-on piece of hardware.

To the average person who may not be so “tech-savvy” they may easily overlook this detail when ordering. I’m enjoying the system now and love it.

We generally install the m75q’s in business because of their extremely tiny form factor. However in several instances this m75s seems to be a better fit. We have several clients that still need and use DVD drives and having the ability to add additional peripherals internally is important for others.

Having the additional memory slots is also a huge Plus for some of our power users who use 64 or 128 gigs of RAM. Overall we have been very satisfied with these units, and the AMD processor and graphics combo works perfectly for our Adobe using clients as well.

It seems to work fine with InDesign as well as illustrator. I would recommend these for any business deployments where you need a lot of power in a small form factor.

As a healthcare provider, it’s important that staff record information as easily & quickly as possible, before anything is forgotten. These computers are wall-mounted near where the tasks are being done, allowing nursing staff to document all procedures easily.

Lenovo makes one of the best touch-screen computers on the market! Not all touch-screen computers boot successfully without a keyboard plugged in – this one does! Many touch-screen computers generate an error during boot indicating no keyboard is detected, need to press F1 to continue.

This is totally unacceptable in our environment. Lenovo solves this problem for us! Have used Lenovo as kiosks for at least 10 years.

I’ve been exclusively an hp fan since about 2005. I’m use to great customer support and a near perfect out-of-the-box experience. While my computer works great, the out-of-the-box experience was disappointing.

Sales support was nonexistent and technical support proved impossible. Fortunately, the problem turned out to be very minor and a little searching on the internet got me enough info to push past it. FYI if your z8 computer boots up with a blank dark screen and you know it’s on and properly connected, try turning the monitor off then back on.

Who’d a thought that would be necessary in this age of plug and play. Ultimately, if the computer remains trouble free and relevant the for the 10 or so years I keep it, I’ll be happy. But I doubt this review will be around for me to update.

I think it cost twice as much as it’s capabilities were worth though, but I attribute much of that to the chip shortage. Still poor and erroneous website design, customer support and technical support has been disappointing at the start.

At bootup, I get an error saying that the computer is configured for a front chassis fan and no fan is detected. I don’t understand why this is. The fan should be installed if the computer is configured ti have one.

Also the computer had no graphic card when I received it. It was not obvious from the specifications that the computer would not have a graphic card.

One can guide the build if you live in US. But if you are buying it from Canada you are stuck with ordering both a graphics card and a WiFi system separately. And good luck with finding a WiFi system appropriate to this Workstation.

I was undecided to whether or not return it right away because of the discouraging first appearance or wait a few days until testing it; I however didn’t have time to return it right away and gave it the opportunity to see if the inside components were accurate (cpu + motherboard memory).

By day fifth I decided to connect it and turned on; to my surprise it was quite and didn’t seem faulty; it’s not as fast as I thought it would be, but I can work with that. I have only had it for one week and despite the fact that it looks ugly and the packing was like a regular person was selling and not an actual business like new egg and/or 3rd party business backed by new egg, so far so good.

If something goes wrong in the next 3 weeks left before warranty expires I will return. I wouldn’t buy from same seller unless I have a positive response and explanation as to why they sold something that doesn’t look decent.

If you’re looking for a desktop replacement? This is the way to go. I’ve been building and selling PC’s for over 25 years and the HP Z line of PC’s are built for speed. Even though this is a 3 year old PC it sold brand new for 2500-3000 back in the day.

Most of the components are non-moving components except for the easy to replace cooling fan and the easy to replace power supply. The resilience of the hardware used will rarely fail and the design of the case regarding the cooling of the PC is simple yet state of the art.

I have sold well over 200+ of this model and had 1 failure which was easy to fix. Removing the 3 year old hard drive and adding the SSD drive the performance of this PC is even better when it first came out.

I highly recommend looking into this PC for your next desktop replacement.

Old computer that still compares today. Put a 4tb had in($50), put a new graphics card in. All set. I put it in a larger gaming case I had laying around and installed a bigger power supply(30). Instant super computer cheap.

Pros: *As of 2/13/2021, an RTX 3070 alone is going for about $1,300+ alone thanks to the absolutely insane price hikes seen in the GPU market as of late, so the overall price of this rig is a bargain.

*Build comes with two side panels. One side panel is a standard metal panel with ventilation holes, and the other panel is a translucent plastic panel that shows off the inside of the build and its RGB lighting.

*Performance is extremely good for 1080p gaming from my tests. Card is easily able to get 120+ frames in almost any game I throw at it, albeit with some modifications which I touch on slightly later.

*Overall storage of 2. 5 TB is perfect for a hefty game library, work or school files, and programs or emulators. Installation of new hard drives is easy, as the motherboard has space for an extra NVME SSD and SATA port for an extra HDD or similarly sized SSD Cons: *The thermal design on the stock build is laughably poor at best and intentionally bad at worst.

There are no holes for ventilation in the front of the case, no front fans for compensation, and either panel shipped with the computer does very little for ventilation. The front of the case DOES seemingly have ventilation cutouts from the pictures on both ASUS’ website and Best Buy’s website, but in person those vents are only decorative.

Even if they were actual ventilation holes, there’s a thin sheet of plastic that covers the inside of the front casing, most likely to keep the RGB lighting installed in place. The CPU cooler included is also a stock cooler, which doesn’t exactly help manage decent temperatures in a build with high framerates and almost no cooling.

According to other users, this stock configuration can lead to temperatures in the 50 – 78 degree Celsius range in the BIOS alone. I didn’t power my tower on until making my own modifications, so while I can’t prove or disprove these claims personally, it would be more than reasonable for any rig to reach the dangerously high temperatures with the poor cooling solutions found in this build with all of its stock parts.

*The included power supply is a 500W unit and is Gold-rated. While the Gold-rating is indeed great for indicating the reliability and efficiency of the power supply, its wattage is too low for a 3070 build, with NVIDIA recommending at least a 650W power supply for optimal performance.

*While the RAM included is indeed 16GB, the RAM is all on a single stick. While not sounding that bad to newer PC gamers, having two sticks of RAM with 8GB each as compared to just a single stick with 16GB means that the bandwidth that the CPU has to work with is essentially doubled, allowing for significantly better RAM performance overall, a must for gaming-oriented builds like this.

*While this is more just a pet peeve of mine, the included CPU, the Core i7 11700F, has no onboard graphics, so if your GPU goes bad, you’re a bit out of luck until you can get a new card installed. Again, it’s just a minor nagging point I thought I would bring up here, just so people are aware and aren’t confused why their new computer isn’t showing up on their monitor when plugging it into the HDMI port located on the motherboard, as some may try.

Overall Thoughts: To be honest, this is a great build for the cost that’s held back by just a couple, albeit serious flaws. If you’re willing to spend more to ensure that the computer doesn’t grill itself over time, I think the price is still worth it as compared to buying the parts you would need for similar performance in the wake of silicon shortages and price hikes as everyone and their JPG of a monkey is trying to make some quick cash through crypto mining, GPU scalping, or both.

I would definitely recommend a Micro-ATX case or bigger with a mesh-like front and support for three front case fans for optimal air intake, a new CPU cooler (and new thermal paste just to be safe), a 750W Bronze power supply at minimum (preferably from a name brand to play it extra-safe if you do get a Bronze-rated PSU), and 2 identical 8GB sticks of RAM so you aren’t limited to single-channel RAM.

After implementing these fixes myself, I was able to drop the idle BIOS temperature from the mentioned 50 – 78 degrees Celsius to a mere 15 – 21 degrees Celsius, and I haven’t seen my graphics card get past 63 degrees Celsius, even coming right off of Ray Tracing-extensive games, with the temperature dropping back down to~21 degrees Celsius in 45 – 60 seconds.

And in all of this, the collective fan noise never exceeds 35 – 40 decibels of noise when taking readings right up against the system. If you’re able to make those key improvements and essentially treat this as a starting point for building your own computer, this is *going to be* an excellent system for anything you can throw at it, and will remain that ways for years to come.

However, for those who may not be as skilled with PC building to attempt these improvements, it may be a better move to look at other pre-built systems in all honesty.

The ASUS GT15CF-I73060VR Gaming Desktop is a very nice system! The design of the case, from the available LED lighting, to the clear-view side of the case is very sleek. It does have a handle on top, for “easier” portability.

On the top-front, there is one USB-A and one USB-C, along with headphone and mic inputs. It also has a nice little fold-out headset hanger. The Intel Core i7-12700F CPU, with 12 cores/20 logical cores, should have plenty of power to take on any game.

The only surprise was the cooling system, which is just typical fan/heatsink. While it should be fine enough, will be keeping an eye on things when the game processing gets intense. It comes with 16GB of DDR4 3200 MHz Long DIMM RAM.

There are still a couple of slots available for a memory upgrade, if desired. For storage, it come with a 512GB NVMe system drive (which is very fast) along with a 1TB 7200RPM Hard Drive. Unfortunately, there isn’t any additional 3.

5″ or 2. 5″ mounting/slots to install any more drives. Seems if needing to add more internal storage, would need to get a PCIe adapter (SATA – with 2. 5″ mount(s) – or NVMe to go in the only extra PCIe slot) or a PCI Slot mounting bracket.

On the video adapter side, the GeForce RTX 3060, with 12GB GDDR6 video RAM, has 1 HDMI and 3 Display Port outputs. All the games I tried worked flawlessly on my 27″ QHD monitor with all the video details settings turned up all the way.

Even with playing on our 65″ 4K TV with FreeSync Premium (and G-SYNC turned on), everything played very smoothly running at 4K resolution, HDR turned on and setting the refresh rate at 120Hz. This is Wi-Fi 6 capable, and includes an external antenna that sits on top of the desk (or wherever gets the best signal).

Armory Crate app is used for ASUS – related system updates, Performance Customizations & LED customizations. Since I’m not the biggest fan of the LED lighting, I will set it at with a steady color. Comparing the benchmarks to my older gaming system, this is definitely a decent step up (although, that one only has an i5 CPU, but does have a Nvidia RTX 2070, which still performs pretty close to the RTX 3060).

The only downside currently is that since it has Windows 11 install, the software that configure my older (but still functional) joystick will not run. Overall, I definitely feel it is a capable gaming system!.

We bought one for our son and when we got it didn’t work. It wouldn’t power up. We took to Best Buy where we purchased it and they looked at. Could figure put what was wrong. We ordered another one. Got it today and same thing.

No matter where we plug it in it won’t power up. So I’m getting a refund tomorrow.

This PC is awesome! I couldn’t be happier! The only complaint that I have with Y920T is the keyboard and mouse which are in my opinion to big(had to get another desk to accommodate them). I haven’t had any issue with games or multi-tasking at all.

I’ve put every game in ultra or the highest settings in 4K without any noise from the processor or graphics card and played for hours. As far as upgrading goes, I see no issues there’s plenty of space to do whatever you need.

Simply stated this is one nice computer.

I’ve been doing PC’s for both personal and professional use, in one iteration or another since my first Apple II GS (with the optional 1 megabyte of RAM). I’ve owned hardware from several different manufacturers.

Some have been great, some not so much. I had my first experience with Lenovo back in 2014, with a pair of ThinkCentre M83’s (Windows 7 Pro, updated to Win 10). They were recommended by a friend who is an IT consultant.

The experience with them has been excellent, and by that I mean they have been used daily, seven days a week without a hitch. While they take a little longer to boot now than when they were new, once up and running, they are still quick.

I have also purchased Lenovo Chromebooks for my (now) 10-year-old grandkids. I can’t quite say the kids have abused them, but aside from me making sure they stay updated, the kids haven’t exactly treated them like the crown jewels.

They are also still running fine. To the P348, I’ve always preferred to spec my own tech. It’s getting more difficult to find “customize and buy”. The P348 had the best number of options in the function and performance categories I could find, and I did spend a fair amount of time looking.

The price was, I thought, very fair for what I was getting, and I managed to hit the timing right with a coupon or two. Without going through the whole list, I opted for the i9 processor, 32 GB of memory, and the NVIDIA T-400 video card, among other things.

It did take a couple of months to build and ship, but that’s the nature of today’s world. It came very well packaged and arrived a little earlier than I expected it to. The video card requires mDP cables, which I had ordered in advance.

Once unpacked, I was up and running in about 10 minutes. The machine, even with the fan running is very quiet. With the SSD as a boot drive, from power on, it is ready to go in around 30-45 seconds. While not specific to the hardware manufacturer, the Windows 11 is pretty simple to set up, and is functionally close enough to Win 10 so as not to cause any real headaches.

Performance wise, the thing screams. I haven’t had it long, I’m writing this review about two weeks after receiving it. Not that I expect to need it, but I did opt for the 3 year premier support upgrade.

It’s priced very reasonably, making me think that Lenovo has enough faith in their equipment to feel I’m not going to need it.
