I was in need of an inexpensive small binoculars for hunting. After looking at these and the low price, I gave them a try. These are exactly what I was looking for. The optics are very clear, the size fits my pocket perfectly and are easy to use.
I would recommend these for anyone who is looking for inexpensive binoculars.
I bought these for my wife so she could view the flora & fauna mingling in our backyard. My other binocs couldnt focus on that close of a distance. Sharpness, clarity and color rendition is quite good.
Very lightweight. If youre an active birder these may not fit your needs but for casual viewing you cant beat them for the money.
Great for your 8 year old explorer. Easy to use, clear lense, light weight. Another benefit is cost-very low for quality of lenses and if the explorer has an accident with the binoculars the $ lose is minimized.

I thought I would be happy with the Diamondback Vortex 10×42 that I picked up on a black friday deal; but, I’m much happier with this purchase. Once I set the focus – it’s amazing to spin the dial and change my depth of field without ever moving my feet.
Crystal clear focus – bright – and they fit my head/eyes great. I haven’t taken them on an extended hike yet, so I’m using the factory neck stap and it’s been great – we’ll see if I switch to my chest harness.
(I don’t know where the factory is for these, I’m always afraid that someone will point out that they’re the “left twix” from the “right twix” Vortex factory – but I still like this pair better). Great size for my hands, nice compact case, I’m finally a little worried about leaving a binocular in my ride – because I’d miss these if stolen.
Good for what they do, but expected WAY more for the price. Don’t get me wring; good item, but I just don’t see $200 improvement over two others I use costing less. The other two do NOT have special gas and non-fog, but still_ $200 more? As for actually using them, one gripe is that for me to use them, I have to bring the barrels ALL the way towards each other.
Good thing it goes JUST barely far enough. The company must think most folks have a MUCH wider-set eyes than mine. I like the feel of the material coating the outside; really non-slip in wet weather.
And though the weight is more than expected, it helps steady the image.
I picked this based on the strongly positive review from Wirecutter and have not been disappointed. Very impressive clarity and durable construction. Lens caps pop on and off easily and are attached so you don’t lose them.
The Nikon 8×25 ProStaff ATB Binoculars were designed with hunters in mind. Even the most serious binocular users know that there are times when nothing proves more useful on a hunt than a good compact.
That is precisely why the new ProStaff ATB was created. Built not only for ruggedness, but also with optical performance and true take-it-anywhere portability in mind, these binoculars are designed to last.
They have been constructed on a durable, rubber-armored, polycarbonate body that has been purged of all moisture with bone-dry nitrogen for total waterproof and fog-proof performance. One look through these compact binoculars and Nikon’s uncompromising optical standard becomes quite evident.
Aspherical eyepiece lenses provide a crisp, distortion-free field of view and long eye relief. Crafted from Nikon’s exclusive Eco-Glass, these lenses and prism offer high performance together with a considerable reduction in weight over typical optical glass.
The result is bright, razor-sharp viewing even at dawn, dusk, or in poor weather, when light conditions tend to be less than ideal. Since it was founded in 1917, Nikon has been a leader in optics and imaging.
The 8×25 ProStaff ATB Binoculars are no exception.
If you’re on the fence between these and the Vortex 10×26, get these. I have both and the Nikon’s blow them out of the water. Way better eyecups and focus wheel on these. Natural color and sharp. Trust me.
A perfect hiker bino–lightweight and pocketable–light years ahead in image quality, construction and handling of the Travelite V it replaced, optically on par with my ProStaff 7S 10×30 (with the wider field and better stability easily making up for lower magnification).
These are very good binoculars. To start with they are waterproof and fog proof which means that you have use of them for all four seasons of the year. And it means that you need not worry about going from a warm car to a cold meadow and vice versa causing condensation.
They are of a wonderful compact size and very light weight so they are no burden at all in pocket, backpack or jacket. Their small size make it ideal for sharing nature, sports and the arts with your family because they fit children’s hands quite well.
As mentioned they are very lightweight so they’re not fatiguing to use even one-handed. These 8 x 25 binoculars are a very good intermediate power. It can be frustrating for someone thinking that the higher power of 10 X, 12 X or even higher is the best deal.
The higher the power, unfortunately the less stable the image. This 8X is just right for those unaccustomed to binocular use. Of some importance, especially if you are sharing these with a family member who does or does not wear eyeglasses, are the retractable eye cups.
This approach is much superior to the fold over rubber used on some scopes. They operate smoothly, quickly and dependably. The center focus makes one-handed use quite simple and there is no slippage when the image is found and focused.
These binoculars have a nonslip coating that works well under conditions where the waterproof feature comes to play. The 25 mm lens gives a bright and consistent image and no chromatic aberration has been noticed.
Of course the fact that Nikon guarantees these for life, no matter what happens, is a wonderful selling point. These 8 x 25 classes are a fine traveling companion and a good intermediate for someone who would like to experience binoculars before committing to a more serious pair.
Vortex Crossfire HD 10×42 Binoculars step up the optical quality over previous models. The addition of Vortex’s HD Optical System, which is optimized to reduce chromatic aberration, improve light transmission, sharpness, and color fidelity.
Field of view is now 325′ at 1000 yds, and close focus has been reduced to 6′. The Crossfire HD binoculars now come with the Vortex GlassPak case and harness system. They are protected by rubber armoring, water- and fogproofing, and Vortex’s VIP warranty.
This is a good quality binoculars build with a modern design with over all excellent package. I did try in person multiple binoculars with in the price range 200-300 before tax and this was the best overall binoculars.
Other brands were not able to stack up when it comes to construction and optical quality for this price. Optically in between the 3 models in the series this was the best. The color was true to life, contrast was excellent and it had chromatic abberation.
The 10×42 was good but it looked a bit dark when side by side with 8×42 and the 10×50 showed some chromatic abberation. One thing regarding buying a binoculars are like shoes unless you try them on you don’t know how it will fit.
So don’t take my word for it and go to the store and try them on one by one. If they don’t fit or you get black shadows they will not work for you.
I bought it for a trip for wildlife viewing. Online reviews were all very good. The image quality is quite poor in my opinion. There is only minimal peripheral distortion but there is way too much chromatic aberration.
I had my Nikon M7 Monarch 8×42 at the same time and after viewing through the Vortex a couple of times and the Nikon right after, I put them down for good. The focus wheel is also somewhat coarse and difficult to adjust with one finger precisely (again I’m spoilt by the super smooth Nikons).
Yes, it is a relatively cheap bino for what it offers, I got it over the Diamondback version as that had so so reviews, but for me, I need crisp images without the distracting color fringing. Would be spending more and get a Nikon M5 instead.
I have already returned the Vortex thanks to an excellent return policy by B&H.
I bought the Crossfire HD 8X42 binoculars about a week ago and I’m pretty impressed overall. For one thing they compare pretty well optically in clarity and depth of field with my Cabela’s Intensity 8X42 binocs, which themselves are a very good buy for the money.
One con of the Crossfire is that the eyecup adjustment doesn’t stay in place very well, especially when using the eyepiece dustcaps. The pupil distance also doesn’t adjust quite narrow enough for my eyes but with the right eyecup adjustment it’s still comfortable.
The exit pupil is nothing short of massive which gives the impression it will allow lots of light through and take advantage of your dilated pupils when you’re in low light. The eyecup adjustment range is outstanding and allows just the right eye relief no matter what glasses you wear or if you don’t wear eyeglasses.
The lens covers are durable and very effective for keeping the lenses clean when you’re not looking through them. The shoulder strap is outstanding and makes the optics feel lighter than they actually are, especially when hiking off trail when it’s rough.
I’ve not tried the shoulder harness included with the carry case because it makes it very difficult to change or share binoculars. The carry case is outstanding however and gives lots of peace of mind when not using them.
I would say you could do a lot worse for the money with these binoculars, especially if you are on a budget like me. The warranty is also outstanding. I will not hesitate to take them hunting or birding, two very optic intensive hobbies.
Designed for those with a tight budget yet still looking for a quality pair of binoculars. The Trailblazer ATB is the binocular for you. The Trailblazer is 100% waterproof and fogproof and features a rubber armored body that allows for easy gripping and comfort.
Additional features include a wide field of view, anti-reflective lenses and comfortable eyecups. All Nikon products include Nikon USA’s full or limited warranty.
I bought these binocs for ultralite backpacking and sea kayak camping on the Cascade Marine Trail system in the Salish Sea. What I desire from my binocs are: 1) Water proof/resistant for use in heavy rain or around my neck when I am paddling my kayak 2) Compact volume 3) Lightweight 4) Good optics, especially in lower/flat light conditions when I am looking for a place to land my sea kayak in overcast seas or as the day darkens into night 5) Robustness These ATB 8×25 binocs met all of my needs.
The Nikon optics, as expected were the best in gathering light and sharpening contrast, and maintaining good focus across the entire field of view. They were the best of the four or five binocs I compared.
They are also lightweight and compact. On a recent multiday backpack trip along the Washington Coast, which I wanted to do as lightweight as possible, I consider these binocs to be the only non-essential thing that I packed.
I wanted to get my starting-out pack weight down to 25 lbs, so I debated whether to take them or not. But because they are so light and compact, I brought them along, and was glad that I did, as it allowed me to assess several route options, camping choices and the ability to look at bald eagles and other life up close without disturbing them.
My only criticism, and it is the reason why I rated the item 4 stars instead of 5, are the rubber caps for the eye pieces. They are loose caps, and constantly fall off the ends of the eyepieces. I don’t like NOT having my eyepieces covered when the binocs are not being used, but there is no way that the caps would stay on if the binocs were around my neck.
They should be like many other binocular eye caps: hooked together and attached physically to the binocs when not in use (or at least have that option). I have almost lost the end caps numerous times, and they have fallen into the sand, which I then have to carefully clean out of them before replacing them over the eyepieces.
It is a small thing, but it is really, really annoying!.
I wanted a small binocular with good optics and a case. The Nikon 8X25 Trailblazer is great and let’s me see things clearly. I have macular degeneration and my vision is blurry at a distance. With these binoculars, I can see the faces of dancers or actors in the stage as well as clearly see wildlife and birds.
The caveat is that the covers to the eye pieces are not attached and did not fit snuggly. They fell off easily when I was putting the binocs back in the case or taking them out. I cut a thin strip of black electrical tape and put it along the rims of the covers.
I wish the covers were attached but they do not come off easily. I now have to apply a little pressure to remove the covers which is a good thing.
My mom and I always take our binoculars backpacking. I have this pair, she has something else. These ones can do something cool that hers can’t: I can magnify things that are very nearby, like little critters in the water near the bank of a shallow lake, or a bird on a nearby tree.
With hers, she can’t get close-by things into focus. These binoculars have done well for a number of years now, and I use them at home too, and the ballet, and can easily bring them anywhere else I think I’ll need them.
The housing is not degrading at all like in that one review, it feels and looks very new still despite me setting them down on rough rocks all the time and stuff. I think that pair must have been exposed to high heat or something.
Cabelas – VORTEX – Full-Size – – A Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Exclusive! – Sleek ergonomic design – Improved HD optical system – Multiple anti-reflective coatings – Multi-layer prism coatings – Ultra-wide field of view The sleek, ergonomically designed Vortex Diamondback HD Binoculars are fast to get on target, and comfortable to hold for extended periods of glassing.
Featuring multiple anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces and.
Very happy with these binoculars. I’ve never owned a nice pair before. I wanted to get something for this bow hunting season. These are fantastic. The amount of light these let in during low-light situations is great.
I’m still able to see things hunting in the woods up till dark. They are also just fun to have to look at random stuff while on the stand. Not sure what the benefit of going up to the Razor HDs would be, but I felt the price point on these was much more accessible and they still are a fantastic product.
Had them around my neck a few nights ago when I arrowed a deer! I do plan to get the enclosed chest harness from Vortex eventually. I’d prefer for them to be in an enclosed case instead of exposed and hanging.
Also, I hear great things about the lifetime warranty. Hope to not have to use it, but if so, I hear they are super friendly at Vortex and will make sure you are taken care of.
I am shocked at how bad the CA is with these binoculars. It’s not something you can see in the dim light inside the store. After I got them home, I was looking at a white horse in a field across the road from me and he was purple! A white fence post has purple fringe on the left that is as wide as the post and yellow fringe covers the post itself.
Trees look like they have purple flowers on them. Called Vortex to ask them if they are defective and they basically said, you bought cheap binos so you pretty much got what you paid for. Be careful too about the IPD.
I am an adult male and I can just barely close them together enough to make them usable. The eyepieces are as close together as they can be. If your eyes are close together, they may not work for you.
I like the 12x magnification but I think these are going to have to go back. Maybe another copy would be better, but I got the only pair they had in the store.
As you have read in many other reviews I agree that these are a quality pair of binoculars with good optics at a reasonable price. Although I have two excellent spotting scopes, because of their weight , size, and need for a tripod I generally only carry binoculars when I am alone out it the field hiking or hunting.
I usually bring my Vortex 10×42 Diamondback binoculars. I decided to purchase the Vortex 15×56 Diamondback binoculars for increased magnification and light gathering capability as a compromise between my usual binoculars and much more powerful spotting scopes.
Since I glass and move a lot, I thought that I would mostly be using them as handhelds and only occasionally on a tripod. I was concerned that the increased weight and higher magnification would make them uncomfortable to hold for longer periods of time and the image might be too shaky.
I am very glad that I purchased them because I do not find either of these issues to be a problem and really love these binoculars. My one minor complaint is with the binocular case strap. The one that is provided allows you to securely carry the case strapped to your torso with the case and binoculars readily available against your chest.
It would have been nice if the case also came with an additional more traditional simple shoulder strap and appropriate attachment points on the case so you could switch from the supplied chest harness when that wasn’t needed but could still have a strap to carry them on your shoulder when that was the more desirable option for what you were doing.

I sought counsel from seasoned hunters and marksmen, as I am a novice when it comes to “glass”. the term often used from folks who know about scopes and binoculars. I am so glad I did! A list of 4 outstanding “entry level” binocular companies was made.
I say “entry level” because my previous pair of binoculars, bought 16 years ago, was a $50 pair of Tasco’s. I thought they were good, but I didn’t seek more info then and this was just before the internet so I went to a big box store and bought a pair.
NOW I have these Vortex Diamondback HD 10×50!! Right out of the box here is what I noticed and like! 1. I can instantly see clearly through them. No moving them around to get rid of that black areas I saw through my Tascos.
2. Love the one-piece eye glass protectors. easier to keep track of then the individual cups the Tasco’s had 3. Love the built-on large glass protectors. Again, I won’t forget to put these back on or loose them in my truck.
4. The pouch they come with is incredibly comfortable! 5. The rubberized feel is great to handle. very secure. I seriously had no idea binoculars could be so comfortable, focused and easy to use until I bought these.
Yes, to me, $250 bucks is a large sum of money but I already love them enough to say the money spent was WELL WORTH IT! I expect to use these till the end of my career. and then some. Thank you Vortex for making a quality product and Academy Sports for quick secure shipping!.

Reviews From Real Customers
I was looking for a compact set of binos to replace my old cheap tascos that I keep in my hunting sling pack. I caught these vanquish on sale and gave them a shot. They are much clearer than my old pair and most likely as good as you can get in this price range.
Even though they’re about twice the size and wt of the pair they are replacing. They will fit in a cargo pocket of BDU style pants but barely. Even with the larger size they aren’t too cumbersome to carry on long hikes in with my climbing stand or a full day of sit and stalk hunting.
I paid $80 on sale and feel like they were a great value for the money.
Complete binocularsThe Engage 10×50 binoculars from Bushnell is a complete binocular that you can use in all weather conditions. Thanks to the dirt and moisture resistant coating you can use it during outdoor activities such as hunting or boat trips.
The Bushnell also has multiple coatings that all produce a clear and realistic image. High quality The Bushnell glass is of such high quality that you get a beautiful picture, both in the light and in the dark.
The image has a high resolution and a sharp contrast. With a magnification of 10x you can observe the smallest details through the lens. This is partly due to the dielectic prism coating. It ensures a vivid color reproduction and a light transmission of no less than 92%.
Waterproof and fog-free The Engage 10×50 binoculars from Bushnell is a complete binocular that you can use in all weather conditions. Thanks to the dirt and moisture resistant coating you can use it during outdoor activities such as hunting or boat trips.
The binoculars have been designed and built using the latest waterproof and fog-free technology. The binoculars are sealed o-ring for moisture protection. Spray-free protection is achieved by dry nitrogen flushing which removes all internal moisture.
The exo barrier lens coating also prevents external fogging.
These binoculars are all I had hoped they would be. Amazing clarity, magnification, and light. I would have given 5 stars other than one small issue. I’ve never been told my eyes are unually close together.
But in order to get the Interpupillary distance (ID) correct required me to move the objective lens protective cups way down the barrels as the width of the rubber was enough to prevent me from closing the ID enough to see correctly.
I’ll need to come up with some other way of attaching the cups to the binoculars so they are not lost.
These are a fantastic pair of binoculars and I am very pleased. The construction, feel, and quality are excellent. They really excel when observing at longer distances. The only criticism would be the following, and it is minor.
When the lens covers are installed on the front of the binoculars, the bands that hold them in place wrap around the body of each barrel. When you fold the binoculars together to get a closer pupillary distance, the bands touch and prevent the full range of travel.
I have to remove the bands in order to fold the binoculars far enough together to achieve my pupillary distance. I also purchased the Bushnell tripod adapter and have the same issue when it is installed.
The tripod adapter is a great addition because at higher magnification, the shake is amplified when viewing at longer distances. The Bushnell adapter was expensive, but there are plenty of cheaper adapters available that will work just fine.
I would just recommend choosing one that is as narrow as possible so it does not interfere with the full range of motion. Again, these are minor issues and I will still rate five stars.
The black 10×50 Aculon A211 Binocular from Nikon is a handheld fixed-magnification optic with multicoated aspherical lenses and an ergonomically-designed housing. For the redesigned Aculon series, Nikon packages the Aculon A211 binoculars with environmentally-friendly Eco-Glass elements composed of responsibly-sourced arsenic-free material.
The Aculon binocular’s Porro prism design delivers enhanced depth of field, and its multicoated aspheric optical path with 50mm objective lenses deliver the image clarity, brightness, and flat FOV demanded by nature observers.
It was slightly less robust than the Bushnell Legacy WP 10×50, and, I assume, the discontinued Bushnell 8×42, and the warranty is somewhat less helpful. However, this Nikon Aculon 8×42 binocular’s quality for the price can not be beat by any other available model.
My wife finds it easy to use. The case is junk, wo a strap, and too small to add closed-cell blue foam/ensolite padding to the inside. Find a strapped shoulder bag with a real zipper (not spiral type) AND a flap/strap with a clip to backup the zipper for safety.
Use a Ziplock bag inside to keep the binoc dust free. The binoc strap plastic adjuster is NOT secure, despite my very careful following the installation steps. Experiment (carefully) to find the best length for you, and sew the strap to that fixed length with durable thread.
The eyepiece cap is good. The objective caps are useless because they can not be fixed to a cord/the binoc, and will soon be lost.

Integrating high resolution BAK-4 roof prisms with dielectric coated prisms ensure the highest level of light transmission. Housed in a durable (water-proof, nitrogen filled, fog-proof) lightweight rubber coated magnesium alloy chassis, with twist-up eye cups for eye relief.
Includes stay-on lens protectors, padded case, shoulder strap and lens cloth.
First to qualify my opinion, I have limited experience with binoculars. I purchased these for a trip to Alaska. Under $500, manageable weight, steady and wide field of view were my requirements. Also, the best binocs are those that are with you.
The 8×32 checks all my boxes. Absolutely clear, no discernable chromatic aberration, easy to hold steady, minimal weight, easy and fast focus, extremely solid materials. Dont know about weather resistance, no rain.
No regrets. They live in my day pack, and will travel everywhere with me.
These are just superb. Much looking and learning brought me to them. They work great with glasses. It feels, visually like being on the International Space Station and sticking your head outside!. Field of view, brightness, clarity and form has blown me away.
You can focus on things that are close too. They feel great and I am seeing things that I have never seen before. Honestly, it is exciting knowing that I have them and very adventurous using them. Their cost was huge to me, there form and function way exceeded what I was anticipating.
I expect to still be having a lot of fun with these after the cost is long forgotten. The manufacturers should be very proud of these.
Bring objects into sharp focus with these Leupold BX-1 Rogue Binoculars. They have spotting scopes that bring together design, sourcing, engineering, production and quality control into a high-quality unit.
The10 x 25mm Leupold compact binoculars have Synergy Built optics with a close focus at a distance of 10′. The binoculars have an ergonomic structure and a diopter focus with a porro prism design. The porro binoculars feature a fully multi-coated lens system and Bak 4 prisms.
You can use these binoculars for outdoor viewing of nature. This pair of binoculars also makes an ideal too on a vacation to let you see the sights up close. Take along these binoculars to get a better look at your surroundings.
Yes. This is a gift to myself. Yeeesss!! I tossed my decision between a pair of very much less expensive brand (the power was good, the glass not so), a much better pair of (Name brand withheld, but they were very good also) lower powered yet much-much nicer glass, and these Leupold 10×25 Rogue.
Of the three, hands down Leupold wins! Now granted these are not higher end bino’s. I got out my range finder, zapped out to easily 650yards down the street. Found a street name sign, am able to see the lettering of the street name very clearly, and as most street name signs will have even smaller print stating the county.
Now lets pretend a moment as if I didn’t already know that, I can still make out the small lettering. And I have 60+ old eyes! I had my mind almost made up for a diff. pair mentioned above, once I saw the clarity of these Leupold Rogue 10×25, plus the fantastic deal MidwayUSA had on them, all I could say is.
“Annnd. their mine!” Here is another plus I found: the small footprint of these Leupold will fit nice in my center console of my American made truck. Handy when I need-want them, yet small enough to stash away.
I can even put them in my back pocket, they don’t fit like my contoured and formed wallet, but they fit. Thanks MidwayUSA for the sweet deal. Thank you Leupold for a very good product straight out of the box.
I have had these binoculars for nearly a year and they are junk!! It is impossible to get the eye relief set to permit a person to see clearly. I am now closing one eye! That is the only way to see! I bought these because they no longer offer the Yosemite model.
Major mistake!!!! Save your money and buy a different brand.
The magnification and clarity are great. There are a few little things that detract from the overall quality though. The adjustable eyepieces are a bit of a hassle. Something fixed would be a better setup.
The strap and case are both a bit cheesy. They could have upped the quality on those just a bit for something labeled with the Leupold name. Overall I am pleased.

It’s a great product overall. I hesitantly give it four stars instead of a perfect score because when I look through my regular Vortex binos versus these, this pair suffers a slight image degradation issue, especially in low light.
Other than that, the ability to range-find, change reading brightness, select units, etc. is fabulous. I love not having to switch from binos to rangefinder. Made the difference between bagging the last beautiful buck in the freezer.
I am a big Vortex fan, i have a pair of Razor Bino’s and a Razor Spotting Scope. However in my opinion they missed the mark on the Fury HD 5000s (at least at this price point). I picked these up few weeks ago, after using in the field it was apparent that the glass used is not of the same quality and precision of the Razor HD or Viper HD Lineup.
Needless to say I returned these to Cabelas for a refund. I would also like to add these wear very heavy. If you are to purchase be sure to have a good harness because you will need it for all day hunts.
They do come with a vortex harness, but i found it to be uncomfortable and difficult to adjust. Pros: Outstanding Warranty & Customer Service, Range Finder Works Well Cons: Glass is Mediocre at best, Heavy & Bulky.

Bushnell’s popular 10x 42 mm H2O Binoculars (model 150142) offer the latest grip tech to help keep them in your hands on the rockiest waters. These have been sealed and nitrogen purged to make them 100% waterproof, fog-proof and buoyant.
Offering 10x magnification, these maintain crisp, clear and bright views thanks to the BaK-4 Porro roof prisms and multi-coated optics. A large center-focus knob also helps make focusing even easier.
The enhanced Soft Texture Grip means you can maintain your hold even when they get wet. the rubber armor also absorbs shock (just in case they are dropped). They also offer longer eye relief and twist-up eye cups, when you need to give your eye a break.
These are prefect for those who boat or fish. Keep at least one pair on your boat at all times. Once your friend gives them a try you might need a second pair. After all, they won’t be easy to pry from their hands.
The sharpness and detail that one can see using this particular pair of binoculars is what sold me on it. I work at a science center and they had bought a pair of these and they were available to view the lake with them, so I checked them out and was pleased to find the viewing amazing and the feel good.
The weight is good, but it is not a feather weight. The action is firm and consistent. The adjustability works well in all directions. So I ordered one after getting the specs from the science center on which model it was.
The delivery was the fastest I have ever seen. It actually came in less than one day! No kidding. The box came wrapped well, it contained all straps, holder, cleaning paper, instructions and whathaveyou I took it out and was happy to find that even viewing through a window, the details at about 1000 feet are sharp, clear, well defined, bright, and colorful.
Specifically I was looking out my window at some trees about 1000 feet away. I could see all the details on the tree and colors etc. It is the sharpness of what you can see that is really what is great about these.
No blurry image or fuzziness at all! The fact they are water and fog proof is a bonus. I have had at least 5 or more other pair of binoculars and am happy to say that these beat them all in all respects.
The price is a bit higher than I want to pay, but in comparison to all other models I have seen in this type, it is lower. You should not be disappointed in any way with these. I have been using binoculars for over 50 years.
Had mine for 15 years. I use them almost everyday for work – all seasons. Does get a little hard to move when temperatures are less than -5 oC but am still able to use them as long as I move the focus everyonce in a while.
The wide angle view is great for watching moving wildlife and birds. However the only true downfall is that the Binos get heavy overtime, but that is easily resolved by wearing a bino harness.
10 days or so ago, I sent my 10×42’s in for repair. They were [probably at 8-10 years old and several years back the adjustable eye piece housing had cracked/broken. The glasses were still usable, I just had to be careful of twist adjustments.
Gluing the plastic didn’t fix the issue. Our raptor season ended a couple weeks ago so I decided to finally send in for repair. I was pleasantly surprised to receive full warranty replacement pair yesterday! Thank you, Bushnell for your commitment to quality and customer service/support.

Long eye relief makes them great for eyeglass wearers. ScoutPlus Binoculars include a soft carrying pouch, carrying strap and lens cloth. 10 x 25mm.
purchased these to take into the bush on a weight restricted trip to South Africa, loved them. very lightweight, and for the size & price i was very happy w/the zoom-ability. I added my own “quick release” type neck strap so I could quickly pass them to my group, animals move fast & I didn’t miss a thing.
i was then hands free to grab my camera to catch the action. Are they AS GOOD as my boyfriend’s gi-normous binocs, well pretty close but i have to say when you are carrying a camera & water, & a pack & you are restricted to the weight requirements of a tiny puddle jumper these got the job done & I didn’t have to continually ask for my boyfriend’s MUCH heavier pair.
I’m petite & these “fit’ me well. another girl in our group who was also petite & was sharing her boyfriend’s equally heavy binoculars also thought they were great and I actually bought these for her.
totally lived up to my expectations & then some, for the price you can’t go wrong.
Before finding these on Orvis, I looked in many places for binoculars like these. I am an armchair birdwatcher, following wildlife activities on bird feeders that are between 10 and 20’ feet away from my chair.
They focus smoothly and provide a sharp lovely picture of my wild song birds and the red and grey squirrels that share their sunflower seeds. I think the glasses are perfect for this use!.
The only reason I gave these 4 stars is because of the size. Advertised as “mini” they certainly are. if you have largish hands you may have a slight problem holding and focusing them. That aside, they are excellent.
The lenses are very clear and, for small binoculars, bright. I have no problem seeing ships at night, for instance. Once used to the size they feel good in the hands and “point” rapidly. good for watching birds or aircraft.
The construction seems to be pretty good. only time will tell. but the focus wheel feels sturdy enough to last for a while. If you are looking for binoculars that are small enough to fit in a jacket pocket, light enough to carry around all day, and bright enough to use in dim light, at their price, I would say that these can’t be beaten.

I purchased these for multiple reasons 1) First and foremost, for work. I’m a licensed first responder and procured these as a replacement for a previous pair of 20+ yr old Steiners damaged in a training exercise.
The size, weight and handling are an improvement over my previous pair. I’m enjoying the 10x and the grid as I need to frequently judge distance. 2) Also utilize these for competitive shooting. They are crystal clear in all conditions.
They’re a must have in my range bag on every trip. Lots of complements on them at meets. Finally, 3) I just started using these on my upland bird hunting trips. Only had them long enough for the past season but the optics on these are super in all weather and light conditions and I’m out early, using them at first light on the foggiest, raining days! Reliable, great ergonomics, design, features and quality from Steiner!.
In conclusion, compact binoculars are a great choice for hunting. They are lightweight and easy to carry, making them ideal for long days in the field. They also provide good optical quality, so you can be sure to see your target clearly.
