Comedy shows on prime are a type of entertainment that typically consists of jokes and humorous situations. Prime-time television comedy shows are often broadcast during the evening hours, when most people are home from work and school.
Some of the most popular comedy shows on prime include “The Simpsons,” “Seinfeld,” “Friends,” and “The Big Bang Theory. “.
This four-pack of classic comedies from universal studios includes Car Wash and Steve Martin in The Jerk as well as the two popular John Belushi hits National Lampoon’S Animal House and The Blues Brothers.
Haven’t seen all the movies yet, but the Blues Brothers has a lot of additional material! Considering that, it was a little disappointing that the parts with Danny DeVito, Brooke Adams, and others were still cut out of Car Wash.
From a producer of The Office comes Superstore, a hilarious workplace comedy venturing into the world of retail hell. Starring America Ferrera (Ugly Betty) and Ben Feldman (Mad Men, A to Z), the giant megastore is staffed by employees ranging from bright-eyed newbies and the seen-it-all veterans, to the clueless summer hires and the in-it-for-life managers.
Together they tackle the day-to-day grind of rabid bargain hunters, riot-causing sales and nap-worthy training sessions. Enjoy all 11 Season One episodes of Superstore, back to back and uninterrupted!.
I was in a retail job and this series hits pretty close to reality. The little skits of what customers do when no one is watching them, cracks me up. Just because, I’ve either heard of, or experienced, people doing those situations.
The crazy antics that the employees do is another thing that I can relate to. If you have been in retail before, this series will make you miss doing it and make you glad that you’re not in it anymore.
Both at the same time. Being a fan of “The Kids in the Hall”, Mark Mckinney is a bonus. Not sure why he chose that voice for the show, but you get use to it after awhile.
Admit it, you always suspected that there was more going on at the big box store than flyers presented. The characters in SUPERSTORE present a cross section of big box employees. Some are bright and perceptive.
others almost dysfunctional. However, all of them are handled with compassion and humor. It’s a crazy world inside The Box and you will never look at it the same way after watching SUPERSTORE.
Comedian Eddie Murphy brings his proudly raunchy comedy act to a sold-out stadium and pontificates in his own vulgarly hilarious fashion on such subjects as sexual orientation, puberty, dating, disciplinarian mothers, ice cream trucks, and the personality traits of certain singers.
DVDs & Blu-ray include disc, cover art, and case. Bonus downloadable or promotional content may have already been redeemed. Promotional items (3-D glasses, figurines, t-shirts, posters, jewelry, books or other non-media items) may not be included.
This is a CLASSIC. I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this stand up (I have it on vhs and DVD) but I laugh uncontrollably every single time. the ice cream man. aunt bunny falling down the stairs.
the dog poop end table. oh gosh. true talent. Eddie Murphy is a comedic genius.
Eddie Murphy’s Delirious impressions & social commentaries was the 1980s, its what all those VH1 shows (the rock of the 80s, etc. )inspire to be. I invited a bunch of my buddies over to watch this & we laughed our asses off! I couldn’t stop my self from laughing even at his Michael Jackson impression, I think even Michael Jackson laughed @ Eddie Murphy’s impression of him.
Outside of David Chapell I don’t know of anyone as talented as Eddie Murphiy!.
So, some of the younger people on the site may not remember or know that Eddie came from stand up. He is one of the greatest of all time. Haha the leather suit is worth your time alone, but the jokes will have you watching this over and over.
He electrifies the audience with a clever, animated style of comedy that cannot be duplicated and brings his audience to tears in this stand-up performance. He’s hilarious as he pokes fun at everybody, but he’s funniest when he’s the brunt of the jokes! Fans who know him as the congenial host of BET’s Comic View: One Mic Stand or from his outrageous characters in Soul Plane, the 40-Year-Old Virgin, Scary Movie 3 and 4 and Super Hero Movie will want to see Kevin Hart at his wisecracking best.
I’ve never seen his stand up, well except a 30 min stand up he did, which was funny as hell. So I was going through my T. V. Guide and seen that this was coming on Comedy Central, I Tivo’d it and finally got around to watching it.
Damn, Kevin Hart is hella funny. This is one of the best stand-ups I’ve seen, I really hope he does some more like this because it had me laughing the whole damn time. And to think I almost didn’t check him out, what a mistake that would have been.
Between him and Bill Burr they got the best stand up’s I’ve seen from 08-09 so far with Katt Williams coming in 3rd. Definetly check this one out, you won’t be sorry!!!!!!What are you waiting for??! Don’t even bother reading anymore reviews.
In fact, stop reading this and buy this DVD and buy one for anyone you know that loves great comedians!! Why are you still reading? This guy is hilarious! His humor won’t offend (although he uses some foul language).
He’s easy to keep up with. His jokes make sense and they flow together instead of the awkward moments of silence when comedians pull jokes out of the air. And he doesn’t spend to much time on one joke trying to make if funny.
Neither does he spend to much time in the crowd, which personally tells me you don’t have any talent so you have to pick on people in the audience. WHY ARE YOU STILL READING!! I personally guarantee you’ll laugh from beginning to end.
I’m not giving you anything if you don’t. That just means you have NO sense of humor. He has so much potential. I’m going to keep my eye on him. He has a beautiful family. He’s a proud father and doting husband.
Good luck and God bless Kevin Hart. I first saw Kevin Hart on Comedy Central and I was laughing so hard that I was crying. It is absolutely funny from beginning to end. But since Comedy Central left out a lot of his jokes I just had to find his stand up on DVD.
Kevin Hart’s stand up is funny I got two copies, one for me and one for my best friend and her husband. I think his stand up is funnier than Kat Williams Pimpin’ Pimpin’!.
I will first talk about how the seller gave me care and love like no other. They were truly concerned with my experience. The movie was here in Two frikkin days for God Sakes! Now about the movie. I don’t hafta tell you, Kevin Hart has been out there for years.
But now is truly making his stamp in our homes. You wanna laugh, may I introduce another installment of the magnanimous extrodinare. It doesn’t quit. And when it does, you wish it hadn’t. God bless there’s THREE more.
I bouht this dvd cause I saw the show on Comedy Central, but wanted to watch it uneditted and in the privacy of my home. I was NOT disappointed at ALL. I was able to catch jokes that I missed due to commercials and editting.
The only thing I didn’t care for is, it had to come to an end. I warn yo, if you watch this film, make sure you have someone there that knows cpr. You will lose your breathe wit laughter.
In the second season of this upbeat comedy, sisters Holly (Amanda Bynes) and Valerie (Jennie Garth) have moved into a New York City loft and be well-acquainted with Holly’s uncanny ability to unravel her straitlaced sibling’s well-ordered life.
Nevertheless, Valerie’s own public relations firm, which she runs out of the loft with her quirky friend Lauren (Leslie Grossman), has hit the ground running. While Holly’s feelings for cute messenger boy Vince (Nick Zano) have ruffled her relationship with boyfriend Henry (Michael McMillian), she tries to maintain a friendship with both boys.
Meanwhile, Holly’s new street-smart friend, Tina (Allison Munn), and longtime pal Gary (Wesley Jonathan) ride out all the ups and downs of living with the craziness that is Holly. No matter what happens in Holly’s and Valerie’s unpredictable lives, one constant remains: the sisters’ affection and concern for each other’s happiness.
Was so excited that season 2 FINALLY came out!! I used to watch this in college and have been looking for years for this to come out. I already own season 1 which I purchased years ago and looking forward to seasons 3 and 4 to come out! Crossing my fingers that it’ll be this year! Will buy the second I see them available on DVD! Such a great cast and cute story, but mainly for me it’s nostalgic.
This show was such a gem, I literally binge watched this entire season in three days!! I had purchased season 1 years ago when it was first released so finding out that the second season got released was incredibly exciting! PLEASE release season 3 and 4!.
When straight-laced fire superintendent Jake Carson (John Cena) and his elite team of expert firefighters (Keegan-Michael Key, John Leguizamo and Tyler Mane) come to the rescue of three siblings (Brianna Hildebrand, Christian Convery and Finley Rose Slater) in the path of an encroaching wildfire, they quickly realize that no amount of training could prepare them for their most challenging job yet – babysitters.
Unable to locate the children’s parents, the firefighters have their lives, jobs and even their fire depot turned upside down and quickly learn that kids – much like fires – are wild and unpredictable.
The movie seemed like a rip off of other movies where tough professional dudes watch over kids, The Pacifier and The Game Plan to be exact. The kids were annoying and unfunny the moment we meet them and so was the scientist.
The only people in the movie who were bearable and slightly likeable were some of the smokejumpers. Id recommend for a one time watch, but not really a movie Id want to watch over and over again.
Saw this movie, then brought the kids to see it. It’s hilarious, full of laughs. One needs to watch more than 10 minutes to review an entire movie. We all need some comic relief and this movie provides it, plus has a good moral theme.
Families are important. The trauma each of us experiences in life affects our view of other others. Love breaks through and enables us to trust. Kids can be rambunctious and adventurous. Great picture of that in this movie.
Package arrived damaged, opened it open the dvd wont play movie fully. Skips and freezes. Have 4 very disappointed kids that cant watch a brand new movie. And to boot walmart. com wont fix this issue of damage they are making me pay full price once again.
Even tho it was damaged during shipping. I will not buy any more movies from walmart. com shouldnt have to pay twice for a movie when it wasnt my fault it showed up broke.
New & SealedMembers of the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital care for the injured during the Korean War and use humor to escape from the horror and depression of the situation. Among the 4077’s people are Capts.
Benjamin “Hawkeye” Pierce and “Trapper John” McIntire, Majs. Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan and Frank Burns, and Cpl. Walter “Radar” O’Reilly.
MASH was a smart, classic comedy series. The scripts were edgy, thought provoking, and timeless. The acting was superb. Alan Alda as Hawkeye Pierce was genius casting. I am delighted to have purchased the box set because MASH is tv at its best.
Now, with the boxed set, I can watch every episode as often as I wish.
Episodes were good. Packaging is terrible. Difficult to remove individual disks since they are stacked three-deep. I would suggest pouches within a binder or a simple small binder one can thumb through.
Although the [current] plastic case is okay for distribution and delivery, it is atrocious, clumsy and difficult for selecting episode disks. I gave this collection 2. 0 stars due to the case; episodes are 4.
At first I was apprehensive because this set was so much cheaper than any other advertisements. BUT, what a pleasure these DVDs turned out to be. True, they are stacked instead of individual holders per Dvd.
They are clear, no problem with anything. No scratches. I am a happy shopper. Save your money and get this less expensive set. You won’t be sorry. At least I wasnt.
Greg Berlanti’s The Broken Hearts Club comes to DVD with a pair of transfers. The widescreen anamorphic transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio 2. 35:1, and is preferable to the standard full-frame transfer.
English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5. 1 and Dolby Digital Surround, while a French soundtrack has also been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. Subtitles are accessible in both of those languages as well.
Supplemental materials include a director’s commentary track, deleted scenes with optional commentary, trailers, and, for those with a DVD-ROM drive, access to the film’s official website. This is a solid disc from Columbia/TriStar.
Saw the movie and really enjoyed it, only a complete cynic wouldn’t. Much more substantial than a movie of the week as some would have you believe. It’s a romantic comedy and is as funny and moving as one would and should expect it to be.
If you’re tired of the heavy, depressing and gay themed movies – here’s one that you will simply enjoy – a docudrama it doesn’t pretend to be. The characters are all wonderful and at their present stage of life, their concerns, desires, hopes, fears etc.
are true to who they are. In your lifetime you will have known atleast one if not all of these characters. For a community longing to see itself on the big screen, this may be a very small representation, but nonetheless a valid one.
Does it provoke deep thoughts, well. no. Will you like it? Yes. If nothing else, by the end of the movie you’ll be thinking as I did “thank God for my friends. ” – it’s message and true worth. Enjoy.
Okay so maybe being a lesbian helps me love this movie, but I really think anyone with a heart and a soul will love it. The performances are exquisite, the camera work is interesting and the story is engaging.
I dare you not to fall in love with all the characters. It’s even better after you watch it with the director’s commentary on, because you find out just how they made this movie with such a small budget, and yet it’s so much better than many big budget films.
It’s as much a movie about friendship as anything else, the characters just happen to be gay. It is also incredibly funny. Buy it now!!.
Ali Davis (Taraji P. Henson) is a successful sports agent who’s constantly boxed out by her male colleagues. When Ali is passed up for a well-deserved promotion, she questions what else she needs to do to succeed in a man’s world.
until she gains the ability to hear men’s thoughts! With her newfound power, Ali looks to outsmart her colleagues as she races to sign the next basketball superstar, but the lengths she has to go to will put her relationship with her best friends and a potential new love interest (Aldis Hodge) to the test.
Constant animal sexual scenes, not funny. Constant dropping the F bomb, not funny. I didnt even make it 1/2 way through the movie. Waste of my money, and I loveTracy Morgan and especially Taraji P. HENSON in EMPIRE! Ill sell my Blu-ray and dvd copy locally, including the digital code.
The trailer wasnt all what it was cracked up to be. Ill bet the GAG REEL will be funnier, whenever I get back to this dvd, if I dont sell it before then. GEEZE. Pat from Oroville, CA.
This is definitely my favorite movie by Taraji P. Henson. Basically the story is she is a businesswoman that goes on escapades with men possibly trying to find the perfect guy. After her boss tells her he thinks she doesn’t understand men she seeks therapy and she ends up drinking this tea which gives her the power to hear mens thoughts and what they really think of you regardless of what they say to you.
The comedy was on point with this movie and the characters are engaging, it’s a great movie and definitely worth watching.
Enjoyed the film. Buyers beware its a love story comedy in disguise. Good chemistry between two lead characters (Aldisand Taraji) Tracey morgan kind of ruined the funny moments for me usually he makes me laugh but felt he didn’t deliver here.
Worth the collection i enjoyed it even if it was a love story in disguise.
Now you can take home another classic season of The Andy Griffith Show, featuring 30 more episodes of the wholesome and irreverent humor that entertained audiences and critics alike all over the world.
Season 6 includes many firsts for the little town of Mayberry. It was the first season to be aired in color and it also marked the first of several re-appearances by Don Knotts as the lovable Deputy Barney Fife, which helped garner him his 4th Emmy Award for the role.
So join Andy (Andy Griffith), Opie (Ron Howard), Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier), and the rest of the quirky residents of Mayberry in this 5-disc set of the show that TV Guide reveres as quot;one of the greatest television shows of all timequot;.
Seasons 6-8 are not shown on network TV. Seasons 1-5 are shown over and over. I ordered 6-8 because I wanted to see them again. They were originally aired from 1965-68. The quality of the DVD’s was excellent and reasonably priced.
the color series in season 6 just lacked what the seasons before did. With Barney & Thelma Lou gone, they struggled with replacements. The deputy that replaced him was pathetic and within a couple episodes Howa rd Spragg was also another character, an insurance salesman.
A documentary crew arrives at the Scranton, Pennsylvania offices of Dunder Mifflin to observe the employees and learn about modern management. Manager Michael Scott (played by Steve Carell) tries to paint a happy picture in the face of potential downsizing from corporate.
The office also gets new employee Ryan Howard (B. J. Novak) as a temporary worker, while Jim Halpert’s (John Krasinski) pranks antagonize Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson). Manager Michael Scott’s controversial imitation of a Chris Rock routine forces the staff to undergo a racial diversity seminar.
A consultant (Larry Wilmore) arrives to teach the staff about tolerance and diversity, but Michael insists on imparting his own knowledgeaggravating both the consultant and the entire office staffand creates his own diversity seminar.
He eventually assigns each staff member an index card with a different race on it, causing tempers to slowly simmer until they finally snap. Meanwhile, Jim struggles to keep hold of a lucrative contract extension, but Dwight makes the sale for himself.
Nevertheless, when Jim’s love interest, Pam Beesly, falls asleep on his shoulder at the end of the meeting, he concludes that it was “not a bad day. ” In an effort to save money to prevent downsizing, Michael puts Dwight in charge of choosing the company’s new health care plan.
Dwight’s chosen plan slashes benefits, much to the chagrin of the other employees. In an attempt to appease them, Michael promises the entire office a surprise, and then spends the rest of the day scrambling to come through with his promise.
The employees wait for Michael’s surprise, which he awkwardly never delivers. Meanwhile, Jim and Pam amuse themselves with Dwight’s medical forms. As downsizing rumors swirl, paranoia takes over the members of the office.
Dwight forms a Survivor-esque alliance with Jim against the other employeeslater adding Pam also. Meanwhile, Michael arranges a morale-boosting birthday party for Meredith Palmer (Kate Flannery)although her birthday is more than a month away.
Michael agonizes over writing the perfect greeting in her birthday card, and in the end, his joke (and subsequent rejected ones) falls flat, ruining the party. Michael and the office staff take on the workers in the warehouse in a basketball game.
Through racist and sexist ideals, Michael chooses many of the lesser skilled office workers over their more athletic peers. Michael claims a “flagrant personal intentional foul,” stops the game, and declares his team as the winners.
The warehouse finds the call unfair and Michael caves under pressure, and concedes the victory to the warehouse staff. Michael eventually tells the office that they don’t have to come in on Saturday either, but it does little to calm them: “Like coming in an extra day is going to prevent us from being downsized.
” When an attractive purse saleswoman named Katy (Amy Adams) comes to the office, Michael and Dwight openly vie for her attention. Meanwhile, the corporate office allocates $1,000 for a prize for the top office salesman, but Michael spends the money on an espresso machine in order to try to impress Katy.
However, in the end she actually ends up leaving with Jim, devastating both Michael and Dwight. BEST SHOW EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Season One of NBC’s The Office contains only six episodes, but succeeds in setting the tone for what I consider to be the best show on TV today. The first season introduces the characters of Michael Scott, Dwight Schrute, Jim Halpert, and Pam Beasley, some of the best characters ever to appear on sitcom television.
Based on the original British version, The Office’s dry comedy and slow tempo may not appeal to the typical American viewer. However, the show’s writing is clever and subtle and not easily discernible by those who aren’t looking for it.
Season One, while it only contains six episodes instead of the customary 22-24, is not lacking in hilarity. In the pilot, boss Michael Scott (Steve Carell) decides to play a joke on his secretary Pam for the enjoyment of the new temp, Ryan.
Attempting to get a good laugh out of pretending to fire Pam, Michael instead makes Pam cry and leave the room, leaving Michael and Ryan sitting together uncomfortably. There’s an awkwardness in The Office that no other shows contain, but it only adds to the show’s comedic genius.
In another episode, The Hot Girl, Michael’s insensitivity and his hatred of Toby (the office’s human resources guy) are brought to the forefront. When the attractive Katie visits the office to sell purses and handbags, Michael takes it upon himself to show her around the office.
When she starts to hit it off with Toby, Michael instantly blurts out that Toby has recently divorced and that it was really messy. Another incredibly awkward moment ensues when Katie leaves and Michael and Toby are left facing one another.
The show is littered with moments like these as well as others that make it such a great show. This is my favorite show on television and the first season, as well as the second and third, are very much worth owning.
This is the funniest season of the Office, especially if you’ve never watched it before. There are even a few extras, but honestly, at this price, the six episodes you get are more than worth it. You get introduced to Michael, Jim, Dwight, Pam, and the whole Dunder-Mifflin crew in Scranton.
It’s also one of the first American shows that got popular in the mockumentary format. If you’re a fan of comedy, this is a great show to pick up if you haven’t seen it – if you’re already an Office fan, then this is a must-buy for the great re-watch value! If you do end up enjoying this, I’d highly recommend season 2 as well.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus returns for a second season in her Emmy -winning role as Vice President Selina Meyer in Veep, the hilarious political comedy created by Oscar nominee Armando Iannucci. As midterm elections loom, Vice President Meyer is scoring higher ratings than the president in several popularity polls, which she hopes will boost her influence and help her curry favor with the chief executive.
But despite her best intentions, even the most banal actions can set off unexpected and often disastrous consequences. Her staff, an ensemble cast The Washington Post calls terrific, including Tony Hale (Arrested Development, Emmy winner for his role in Veep), Anna Chlumsky (In The Loop, Emmy nominee for her role in Veep), Matt Walsh (Hung), Reid Scott (My Boys), Timothy Simons (Days Together) and Sufe Bradshaw (Overnight ), is close at hand with a laugh-out-loud combination of personal problems and government-insider antics.
The second season of VEEP is even funnier than the first. The cast has found their groove and continues to shine. The shows continues to receive awards (Emmys for Julia Louis-Dreyfus are well-deserved!) for it’s brilliant take on our government.
Veep continues to be one of the funniest shows on TV. The cast sells every one of the ridiculous scenarios and jokes and makes DC politics a riot. Julia Louis Dreyfus deserves every award she has for this role.
Was channel surfing once and came across this show on HBO. Once I finished seeing the two episodes that were airing, I knew I had to buy the Blu-ray. Bought Seasons 1 & 2 and can’t wait until Season 3 is released.
Hey, hey, hey. The beloved animated characters from the ’70s make the leap to live action to help a troubled teenager as they experience the heartfelt emotions and hilarious absurdities of the real world.
I bought this DVD because I loved the fat albert cartoons! I wanted to see how the live movie version compared and I was not disappointed. This DVD movie is great! It was so much fun to see other fat albert characters come to life! Bill Cosby was great! The actor that played Fat Albert was so good! This DVD movie is fun for the whole family! this movie makes you smile, chuckle, and laugh as loud as you want in your own home! Everyone must own this DVD to have a good, clean, wholesome family time indoors!.
As soon as I got in the mail me and my mother watched it. It is very entertaining and it sooooooo funny I had saw the movie before but I had forgot what it is about and how funny it is. So if you do buy it your money wont be wasted and it came in great value.
The Television Serious gets 10 Stars. The product being sold 3 years old with an expired Digital Copy gets a 1 star rating Why send me an expired Digital code? I ordered this DVD + Digital Copy from Bestbuy.
com and now I don’t get the digital copy. I’m very disappointed. It states on the back cover that they are not responsible for maintaining Ultra Violet digital Copies. So. What do I do? Just return it? I really want this show with the digital code.
The app erased my original response. Someone fix the app to allow you to not loose your response when you exit the app. It’s very frustrating to have to rewrite a review. Plus, now it won’t let me attach the photo that I took when I exited the app.
Schitt’s Creek is just pure feel good entertainment. Throughout each season the primary characters become more interesting and well defined. This series is highly recommended for those just a little tired of primary character development revealing that eventually said just really have no redeeming social value.
I ordered this series on a whim. I had never seen it and took a shot because the price was unbeatable. I am so glad I did! This show is so hilarious! The package arrived on time and completely untouched.
The discs have not skipped and I have binge watched every one of these and can not wait to watch it again and for more seasons to be available. I would absolutely recommend this seller!.
If Richard Pryor were accused of being the funniest man in America, this film of his incredible stage act would be Exhibit A. It is proof beyond the shadow of a doubt! Shot live at the Hollywood Palladium, the film captures all the excitement, lunacy and electric force of a Pryor performance.
And though he’s the only star of this hilarious show, he’s never alone on stage. With him is his amazing array of characterizations as he talks about his trip to Africa in search of his roots, his early days playing one-night gigs in Mafia-owned clubs and strip joints, and numerous other outrageous topics.
Finally, he talks about Pryor on Fire – a recounting of the accident which nearly took his life -an episode he relates with wit and a touch of poignancy. You’ll laugh like you’ve never laughed before!.
Many people will confirm that Richard Pryor was one of the creators of outlandish, over the top comedy. Many of todays young comedians acknowledge his skills not only in stand up for his movies as well.
Little known fact : Mel Brooks wanted Richard to be the sheriff in the hit ” Blazing Saddles “. Pryor was in heavy demand and a deal could not be made so the role went to actor, Cleavon Little and history was made.
If you are a true fan of Richard Pryor, this is one funny movie so enjoy.
This is by far one of his funniest stand up routines and cements his place in stand up history as one of the funniest ever. If you want to laugh and I mean really laugh and aren’t a stickler for language then by all means add this to your collection you cannot be disappointed.
From “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane comes this hilarious and raunchy comedy. Ever since he was a little boy, John Bennett’s (Mark Wahlberg) best pal has been Ted (voiced and motion-captured by MacFarlane), a stuffed bear who was magically brought to life.
Now a grown man, John finds his friendship with Ted who’s become a vulgar and obnoxious lout might cost him his relationship with the beautiful Lori (Mila Kunis). With Joel McHale, Giovanni Ribisi. R-rated version; 107 min.
Is TED the most original movie ever? Well, if you replace the teddy bear with a human being, it’s YOU ME AND DUPREE. Boy becomes a man but his efforts at being a grown-up are thwarted by the constant presence of his imnmature best friend.
His love interest issues an ultimatum: get rid of the friend or she’ll leave. Can the guy make this difficult choice or can the three of them learn to get along? Of course, since Ted is a teddy bear rather than a human, the movie is sillier and funnier than the average buddy film, as well as being a glaringly obvious metaphor.
What says “immaturity” like a guy who can’t live without his teddy bear? Of course, this teddy bear has sex, drinks beer, and smokes weed. Some people no doubt will find this horribly inappropriate. Personally, I’d rather my teens watch a teddy bear do these things (they are smart enough to realize it’s a joke) than watch humans do these things.
If you don’t get the joke — basically, if you find FAMILY GUY obscene or disgusting — it’s best to avoid TED. Otherwise, if you appreciate satirical humor and realize that simply DEPICTING something is not the same as ENDORSING it, then TED offers a positive message as well as some laugh-out-loud moments.
***MINIMAL SPOILERS*** Writer/Director Seth MacFarlane has a funny comedy here. Based on an absurd premise that a young boy’s Teddy Bear to be wished to be a living life-long friend, the comedic antics that follows are laughable.
Mark Wahlberg plays John Bennett, and when he gets older, wants to be with hottie Lori Collins, played by the nice-looking Mila Kunis, the conflict begins when Lori does not want to include Ted in their “future” life together.
This movie was Nominated by the People’s Choice Award Board for the Category of a Favorite Comedic Movie.
I laughed the entire thing! A simple movie with a basic weed plot that’s been done over and over, but a talking teddy bear? Just hilarious. This is one of those movies like The Hangover part 1, that will keep you rolling on the floor laughing.
Not anything DEEP here that requires a lot of thinking just funny.
Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, creators of TOM GOES TO THE MAYOR, are the hosts for this bizarre comedy show that finds its muse by scouring the debris of televised culture. Late-night commercials, instructional videos, and peppy infomercials are but a few of the targets for the 11-minute series’ skewed sensibility.
Layered with cheesy video effects, the show’s whimsical sketches descend into the nether regions of television hell as they follow the heroic deeds of the Snuggler and educate the viewer in toilet use with jaw-dropping musical interludes.
Bad taste has never been so wickedly entertaining in this Adult Swim series’ second season, featuring appearances by John C. Reilly, Jeff Goldblum, Tom Skerritt, Zach Galifianakis, Rainn Wilson, and many others.
It takes a certain kind of sense of humor to fully enjoy Tim and Eric. And if you have that than you will certainly enjoy Season 2! Coming back with the same comedy you loved in Season 1, this DVD is packed with laughs, cackles, giggles, and enough helmet touch for the entire family! From a Tim and Eric fan view I would give this a 5/5.
From just a normal viewer that has never seen the show, 3. 5/5. This is a must have for all fans!.
This is a dvd that will touch hearts of millions. It is by far the funniest show on television today and will be until Tim and Eric stop doing what they do. The dvd is about as long as a movie so you wont be dead by the time it’s over, but one thing is for sure, your going to laugh your apple off.
Season 2 is as funny as season 1, so be sure to pick this one up for pep peps anniversary of his graduating from clown school.
On the surface, the young and beautiful Clara Barron (Karla Souza) seems to have everything- a great job as an OB-GYN; a great house in LA; and a big fun-loving Mexican family. But, the one thing Clara doesn’t have figured out is her love life.

Community is a smart, exuberant comedy that was consistently ranked as one of the most inventive and original half hours on television. This ensemble comedy centers on a tight knit group of friends who all met at what is possibly the world’s worst educational institution Greendale Community College.
Recently disbarred lawyer Jeff Winger enrolls to get a legit degree the quickest and easiest way possible, but when he starts a fake Spanish study group solely for the purpose of hooking up with a sexy classmate, he doesn’t expect to be joined by a random group of misfit fellow students.
Over the course of the next 6 years, this group finds themselves involved in epic paintball battles, chicken finger conspiracies, sci fi conventions, campus wide pillow wars, and everything in between.
This set is a must-own for any fan of Community. Episodes like “Modern Warfare” were meant to be watched in high definition, and now that is finally possible on blu-ray! All of the special features (including commentaries) from the previous DVD releases are included in this set (in standard definition only).
Like the previous DVD releases, there are no commentaries for season 6, but every other episode in the series has a commentary track. The minisodes from season 1 are as well-done as anything in the series and should definitely be watched by every fan, as they are considered “canon”… My only frustration with this release is that the outer box sleeve that holds the blu-ray cases is slightly larger than necessary for the cases themselves.
I would have liked to see Mill Creek do a better job sizing their packaging, but my experience with Mill Creek is that they consistently have less-than-stellar packaging. (Perhaps they were leaving room in the box for the long-rumored upcoming Community movie! haha) Overall, I give this release 5 out of 5 stars.
This series is one of my favorite comedies of all time, and everyone should check it out in HD – the way it was meant to be seen.
I had always heard great things about this show but was focused on other shows like The Office and Parks & Recreation. I took a chance and I’m glad I did. This is a hilarious show that will keep you laughing until the end.
While it is true that the earlier seasons are “better” than the later seasons, its only because some key cast members left the show that the writers underappreciated their impact. I hope you take a chance on this show as well because with this Blu-Ray set, it really is cheaper than buying individual episodes.
Now I know why this show has attained “cult status” and why its loyal fans continue to advocate for a movie. PS, the packaging on this set is a little “loose” but I think its intentional because the producers are really hoping that one day the Community movie will be made.
You’ll have room on the box set for the movie release. Just my theory.
Ignore what all of Dan Harmon’s drones try to tell you. There is little to no difference in season 4 than the first three seasons. And the season does not magically become better once he comes back. As a matter of fact, as good as seasons 5 and 6 are, they are very clearly lacking due to having half the number of episodes and half of the cast going missing.
Regardless, it’s one of the better shows to air on a network in the past 20 years.
Straight off a coast to coast tour and into your living room, Brian Regan: Standing Up comes to DVD. Butterflies, show horses and greeting cards are no match when this master of standup grabs the microphone.
His comedy, big enough for everyone, sharp enough for you, keeps audiences coming back time and again for more! DVDs & Blu-ray include disc, cover art, and case. Bonus downloadable or promotional content may have already been redeemed.
Promotional items (3-D glasses, figurines, t-shirts, posters, jewelry, books or other non-media items) may not be included. Cleaning and repair was done as required.
Brian Regan is unquestionably one of the best stand up comedians around today. He works completely clean, which is not a prerequisite for me, which makes him pretty amazing for almost any age. His humor is non-stop, self-deprecating life affirming hilarity.
This guy has been honing his craft for 25 years and it shows. There are lots of funny comedians out there, but this guy never misses. I have seen him live 3 times and he is worth twice the price of admission.
This is a dvd you can watch over and over again. He is quite simply the best out there today.
Brian Regan is an unparalleled comedian! He’s able to see the humor in every day life and make you say “yeah, why IS that?” while laughing your head off. With the exception of a curse word here or there, he provides clean, enjoyable humor that the comedy field is so in-need of these days.
A master of laughter! We have several of his DVDs and CDs and this one is one of my favorites. Great stuff.
While most comedians spend the majority of their time spewing expletives and degrading others, Brian Regan is “Standing Up” for decency to show that he can be down right hilarious while keeping his material clean.
A lot of the time he is making fun of himself for the stupid things he has done in life, and believe me, you will relate. He makes himself out to be a fool, but don’t let him fool you. He is filled with a mind boggling vocabulary that will have you rolling out of your seat laughing while reaching for a thesaurus.
While just listening to Brian is enough to make you beg for a breather, his humor gets even more side splitting when you see his mannerisms. This is truly fun for the whole family. If you are still skeptical look up some of his material on his website brianregan.
com or on YouTube and prepare to be amused. I bought it for my wife for Christmas and I think she has since replaced her core body workout video with 30 minutes of “Standing up” by Brian Regan with amazing results! 🙂 It really is a workout watching him.
Generally speaking, most comedy shows on prime time television are cancelled after a few seasons. This is due to a variety of factors, including declining ratings, creative differences between the show’s writers and producers, and the show simply running out of steam.
While some comedy shows do manage to stick around for many years, such as “The Simpsons” and “Seinfeld,” most are cancelled after a few seasons.
