Choke is the constriction of the barrel of a shotgun at the muzzle end. Choke affects the pattern of the shot, making it tighter (for hunting) or looser (for clay target shooting).

The 4200 Professional Series of quality putty knives, wall scrapers and taping knives. Black nylon solvent-resistant handle is designed for maximum safety and dependability. High carbon, precision-ground steel blade is lacquered to prevent rust and extends through handle.

I am a big fan of this product. Bought it at the beginning of a hundred-year-old fixer-upper renovation, and used it every day, for various tasks, for 6 months in a home without heat or A/C. Everything from scraping paint to compounding to grouting to removing gobs of carpet wax in high heat to prying trim off walls.
It still is as functional as the day I bought it. It looks a little banged up, as the metal blade can scratch when working with other harder metals and screws and whatever, but the handle is not loose nor cracked, and the blade only has small cosmetic nicks.
My only note is not to leave water on it after you clean it, as this can make it rust. I forgot to wipe it off once and a few small dots of rust occurred where the blade had already been scratched, but I did not have that issue until after it was scratched.
I went looking for one of these after watching YouTube videos on 5-in-1 painters tools. I remember these being around in my dad’s tools when I was a kid but didn’t know how versatile they were. They were usually covered in dried paint splatters which made me think they weren’t of much value.
I’ve already used this to scrape clean surfaces, chisel into and pry out trim and transitions, and also remove caulking. Quality is solid. I can’t imagine they get a lot better than this. The value and price is awesome.
I would gladly buy more of these to replace if I somehow broke them. You would gladly pay the same price for a tool that does only one of the jobs this does. Also, the metal tip of the handle easily withstands heavy hammer strikes.
For 50 years the Original Trius Trap has been the trap that others have been judged by. The trap can be adjusted to throw beyond regulation distance. In addition, it throws doubles including piggyback doubles.
On the ground or mounted to a tire (bolt furnished), the trap features a High Angle Target Retainer for those challenging high angle targets. Large adjustment knobs make the TRIUS trap fully adjustable without tools.
Not hard to assemble out of the box despite the fuzzy unlabeled photos but let me share an advanced tip: I was about half way through the process when I realised that I was short one special lock nut, and a vital one at that.
I very nearly put everything back in the box and returned it but first went cussing around the house and by way of a miracle found the very nut I needed. Then near the end of the assembly I realised that the ‘missing’ nut was screwed onto the supplied eyebolt, where it was not needed and had no business being.
The thing works fairly well in operation, fires low and mostly curving straight away and is a good simulation for game bird hunting, which is what I wanted. I did find that stepping on the pedal and then off again to get a good shooting stance was very difficult on the first tries but I’m sure I’ll adapt, and again it will be good practice for a hunting situation where you don’t always get to choose your footing before a bird takes off.
On the whole I’m very pleased with my purchase, saved money and no huge marine storage battery to lug around. I don’t think that dedicated trap and skeet shooters will be interested though.
Purchased at my local Sportsman Warehouse. Solid, Portable, and throws great. Throws well to the right and center. A bit soft on the left side throws. Good altitude adjustment. Good variability in the tension adjustment/ distance/ speed.
The step to throw action is so easy it allows me to launch and shoot without any assistance. Re-cocking the throw arm is almost zero tension. Unlike many of the other throwers I have used it doesn’t jump around when it cycles a throw.
I have cycled 4 cases of clays through and it has not let me down. Doubles are pretty good also, somewhat inconsistent but I use this to train for bird hunting so I like the uncertainty of the double throw.
One key thing! Remove the tension bolt from the spring and the entire base unit when not in use. I managed to leave mine in detached from the spring while I drove to and from the shooting range, the vibration managed to strip the threads on the bolt.
I had to re-thread the bolt to get the adjustment knob to work again. My fault, not the quality of the product. Everything else on this machine is great!! To me it is worth the cost over the basic rope pull throwers.
I wanted an inexpensive clay target thrower. I kept reading reviews about the less expensive throwers that would constantly fail due to the thrower breaking, or not stable, or the difficulty of working against the heavy mainspring, or it needed to be mounted on a spare tire to be stable.
Huh? I’m not trying to train for the Army Ranger by pulling heavy springs or carrying throwers mounted to tires. All I wanted to do was be able to put my shotgun I my truck along with some shells, some targets, and a thrower and go to a range and spend an afternoon practicing wing shooting.
So I kept reading about the ease of use of the Trius One-Step Thrower and all of the features. I watched some YouTube videos and watched how simple it was to assemble and use. I saw it on the shelf at Bass Pro Shop but really didn’t want to spend the asking price when there were others available much cheaper.
However, being an old-timer I learned a long time ago, quality lives on long after the price is forgotten. I bought the Trius, took it home, assembled it in 15 minutes, and took it to the range. I haven’t looked back.
It works almost perfectly. If it was perfect it would load the birds itself. Save yourself some grief and just buy it.
A great all around shooting vest, made of tightly woven cotton twill with lots of mesh for warmer weather. The vest features quilted gun pads, a choke tube pocket and side tab adjustments. The bellowed shell pockets will easily carry a box of shells each and you still have two shell loops for spares.
The perfect team vest! Bob Allen was a young, nationally known, clay target shooter before the war, who later parlayed his aerial gunner instructor duties into a combat assignment in the South Pacific.
Bob’s first product design was a long billed cap that helped keep the sun out of bomber crews’ eyes on their long flights to mainland Japan. After the war, the hats found favor with shooters and soon Bob was selling hats, shooting vests, pouches and bags from the trunk of his car as he traveled the shooting circuit.
Opening the first retail store on the grounds of the Grand American Trapshoot, designing the first shooting vest, and the first non-military camouflage pattern were just a few of Bob Allen’s “firsts”.
There are several different types of choke tube wrenches to use with Browning Choke tubes. Since Invector, Invector Plus and Invector DS have different choke designs, it is important to select the correct wrench for removing and reinstalling your shotgun’s chokes.
The Speed Wrench is ideal for sporting clays, since it allows for quick and easy choke removal in the field. The T-Wrench, available in both Invector and Invector Plus allows more torque to be applied with greater leverage–this is ideal for chokes that have experienced heavy shooting and might be a little sticky.
The flat wrench design has slots to fit different caliber tubes, so it is convenient to have on hand. Many extended tubes are easy to remove with fingers, but most have the wrench slots hidden on each side that accept the correct gauge wrench.
I bought a used shotgun with Browning DS Choke Tubes but wrench did not come with the gun. Tubes apparently never been removed. I tried Standard key wrench and could not budge them. This Speed Wrench worked like a Champ.
One turn to break lose and easily removed by hand. Would recommend.

I didnt have high hopes that such an inexpensive hand thrower would work well, but I was wrong. It works fantastic. Way to use, and reliable. We could actually throw a double! But the doubles dont go far enough.
Singles on the other hand were easy to toss out there and aim where we wanted.
I decided to buy a hand thrower because I had a fixed thrower but sold it , in a rash decision. When the need arose for a thrower I looked at hand throwers and now I think Ive got a better thrower than the spring operated one I sold.

The choke is the narrowest part of the barrel of a shotgun, and the size of the choke determines how much the shot pattern will spread when the gun is fired. The choke is usually marked on the barrel of the shotgun, and the most common sizes are full, modified, and improved cylinder.
The choke affects the shot pattern in two ways. First, it determines how much the shot will spread when it leaves the barrel. Second, it affects the trajectory of the shot, and the amount of drop that will occur over the course of the shot.
The full choke is the most constrictive, and will produce the tightest shot pattern. The improved cylinder is the least constrictive, and will produce the lightest and most open shot pattern. The modified choke is somewhere in between the two.
The choke also affects the trajectory of the shot. A full choke will produce a flatter trajectory, while an improved cylinder will produce a more arched trajectory. The amount of drop that occurs over the course of the shot will also be affected by the choke.
A full choke will result in less drop, while an improved cylinder will result in more drop.
The choice of choke will depend on the type of shooting that you are doing. If you are shooting at long range, you will want to use a full choke to produce the tightest shot pattern possible. If you are shooting at shorter range, you may want to use an improved cylinder to produce a more open shot pattern.
In conclusion, the choke is a very important part of a shotgun, and the size of the choke will determine how the shot pattern will spread. The choke also affects the trajectory of the shot, and the amount of drop that will occur over the course of the shot.
