First off, for the price its a great deal. The nut, spring,bolt to tighten and loosen the scale is kind of crappy, but after a little file work to clean up the threads its working ok. It is pretty perpendicular within.

005 /. 007 and for general / non-critical layout and gaging its just a handy tool to have. Again its no Starrett, but its the tenth of the cost and if it disappears its not a big deal.

I have had one of these scissors for years and jumped at getting this 3-set. I have cut leather and flashing metal steel and aluminum, with them and they still are firm and cut paper as well as they ever did (which is clean and smoothly).

I had them work a little loos once over the years and all it took was a couple raps with a burr setting tool to tighten it back up and I have once touched up the cutting edge and that’s it. For all their simplicity they are far better than scissors you get in department stores.

One last point, the large loop handles make them very easy to use especially if you have large hands. That’s it. I am happy with mine and may grab another set for the shop. For the record, I am not connected with any seller and am not being compensated for this review in any way.

I was surprised how flat the the backs were it took no time at all to flatten and hone. You could use straight out of box but invest 30 to 40 mins and you will get a ridiculously sharp chisle set that holds its edge very well.

Plastic handles but focused on a work piece I never noticed. Cheaper solution than stanly definitely recomend.

A fine chisel, except that it is ground but not honed as delivered and therefore must be honed before use. The Rockler honing guide (Item # 92651) does not clamp this chisel securely as the sides are too thick for the tiny angled grooves.

I’m talking about the 1/4 inch chisel (actual width 0. 243 inches / 6. 18 mm). I would have to go back to the store and look at the others.

As a beginner Luthier, I wanted something that would not break the bank and still be of great quality. Well Erwin Blue Chip chisels is just that. They serve my purpose well and with the right care, I should be able to a life’s time use from them.

I highly recommend the Erwin Blue Chip Chisel for anyone that has stay within a certain budget but still needs a great quality tool.

There are lots of reviews for this product on You Tube, but I’d figure I would write my two cents on it. First off, this thing is a industrial piece of equipment: It’s very heavy, but surprisingly easy to move around on a concrete surface.

It was a little tricky for me to find a permanent home for this beast in my garage. I wanted to place it in a area where I can joint/plane 8′ stock. I ended up placing it close to the wall, with the same direction as the vehicles park and it worked out good.

I wired it for a 30 amp rating. Probably overkill, but the manual does state that. The only thing I need to emphasize is, inspect your stock before jointing and planing! The blades do not like nails.

LOL! I chipped an area of the blades with a finishing nail hidden inside the stock. I’ve ran several projects with glue through the machine and it did not have any issues. But that one little 16 gauge finishing nail stoped my project that day.

I ended up having the blades sharpened and buying an extra set. I highly recommend having two sets of blades. Blade set up is easy as described in the manual. Other than that, be sure to keep the machine clean, have good dust collection and you won’t have any issues with this machine.

I have used a shark saw which is virtually the same for some years and could not find a replacement blade when my son broke it. I therefore bought this Irwin and have since purchased two replacement blades with a finer finish so I now have two saws which I can use for most jobs.

They are light and very efficient and I can really recommend them!.

This saw is useful in so many different ways. Since buying my first Irwin pullsaw, I have vowed never to be without a sharp one. The blade is VERY sharp when first bought and users need to be careful to avoid cuts.

Don’t be put off by that. All tools should be used with care. I recommend.

This saw cuts very precise and works great on accuracy. No effort is required just pullback and the blade does the job. Shame you cannot buy just the blade as the handle is wasted. If my blade gets damaged I cut back the blade length and reuse on less important projects.

I have a Stanley 60 1/2 block plane from the 1960s. It is a good little plane. I use it almost daily as a carpenter. I wanted another for use at home so I ordered one which arrived very fast. It would seem however that the wonders of modern machinery and manufacturing techniques have been spurned by Stanley who have debased a once good item to one solely based on price and utterly unfit for purpose.

The base was so coarsely ground that I could have used it as an emery board and so far from flat that when I put it on a surface plate it wobbled like a round bottomed doll. The throat was out of level so I had to file it to persuade the iron to sit flat across it.

The iron as supplied was not square. The throat is too large and can not be closed to a small enough dimension for awkward timbers and the adjustable front sole is no longer made from cast iron as it used to be but a ghastly mild steel which does not respond well to machining.

All in all a dog. Avoid it. This plane is one sixth of the price of Clifton’s block plane. I would if I were making the purchasing decision again gladly pay six times more to obtain an item fit for purpose rather than this cheap travesty.

Wanted or to be totally honest needed a reasonably priced plane, that was small for light work and secondly not take up too much space in the tool box. Its size was a big factor for me as I generally would only be using it two or three times a week, but need to carry it with me just in case.

Sod’s law really if I didn’t carry it with me, that’s the time I would really need it. Well Sod and his Law happened again last Saturday morning, ordered it via the Screwfix mobile app and collected it 20mins later, it got me out of trouble where I had expected a quick pass with a surform would have been enough! The plane feels ok in the hand, maybe a touch too small for someone with sausage fingers but perfect for my needs.

Very quick and easy to setup and adjust straight out of the packaging. Anyone who ever did carpentry at school in the 70’s will be on auto pilot doing it in under 30 seconds. I’m not a carpenter or cabinet maker, but for me this plane feels solid, well put together and with care it should out live me! Long and the short of it is, its paid for itself within an hour of purchasing it, and will no doubt save me significant time and effort on future jobs, because it earned a permanent position in my general toolbox.

Very disappointed with this purchase. With every plane you expect to spend a little time to sharpen the iron and tune up the body to get it to cut right. The grind on body of the plane was very rough, and after almost an hour of work the sole is still not totally flat.

Iron took a bit of work to get square and sharp too. But, after all that work, I got it to a usable condition and the iron seems to hold it’s edge pretty well. Bought this plane as an upgrade to a consumer level Stanley block plane I’ve had in my bag for 20+ years.

You can see how Stanley quality has really gone down hill. And no amount of “bells and whistles” (like the adjustable mouth and brass fittings) can be substituted for quality. Overall, the plane feels solid in your hand, but the adjustment fittings seem a bit cheap.

If I were to purchase again, at this price, I’d go with a different brand, probably the Taytools version, or just make the investment and go all the way up to the WoodRiver. Or, I’d save money and go back to the simpler consumer version at half the price.

Don’t be fooled like I was and think brass equals quality.

Or saw anyhow. It’s my first of this type and I’ve used it a lot for it’s versatility having both coarse and fine edges in one hand without changing blades (or saws). The pull-to-cut action feels natural and stops the otherwise nicely flexible blade from buckling during the power stroke.

Warning – this is extremely sharp; though both edges come with a guard to protect you from the one you’re facing whilst using the other, one slip could really spoil your day and they’re not particularly substantial so I replaced them with lengths of automobile door strip being stainless steel backed, pretty tough and they stay put.

Overall a useful addition to my workshop.

I had 6 barstools that needed to be cut down by 3 inches. I have a jigsaw and Skilsaw and neither were going to give me the fine cut I needed. I decided to try this little handy gizmo. I was able to start with the fine saw tooth side and then switch to the wide saw tooth side.

It cuts faster than a traditional saw. Within 2 hours I was done. Even if I were off by a few centimeters in cutting I could go back and cut that extra off with this saw. Now my barstools are perfect for sitting on.

Really like it and so glad I got it.

Dream saw! As a 75 year old female DIYer, this saw is perfect! Actually, I’m sorry it took so long to find it as it would have been the perfect saw for me many years ago as well. Perfect size, weight and cutting power.

Super sturdy and handy. This is my second one, first one my kids left in the rain after working on building a fort, rusted all up. Still works but not as well. Love this product!

I have used Teng Tools for many years. I work as an automatric door and roller shutter engineer. They are exceptional quality – better design than Facom (which have uncomfortable handles), extremely reasonably priced for the excellent durability and quality.

Look no further for nicely designed, rugged, sturdy tools! For instance, I have the entire range of screwdrivers, and the largest flat edge screwdriver has been often used as a metal and masonry chisel, and as a lever, and it is just as serviceable as the day I bought it.

This review is for this screwdriver and the other 6 Teng screwdrivers I bought,a friend was using these he let me take a few of them to work nice handle and grip very good screwdrivers to use so bought a selection for myself.

I bought this a year prior and it was past 90 days when I discovered this saw cuts very slowly and is rather dull. I looked at the teeth closeup and they were apparently punched and alternately bent side to side, which is normal.

But each tooth was not angled like a tooth on the thickness edge. Instead of teeth edges angled for cutting, teeth edges were square punched and blunt and actually the opposite angle. I had a set of Harbor Freight needle files which I used to file each tooth edge to be a tooth cutting angle.

Now it cuts very well. Check the teeth before you buy they might have fixed it.

I felt like I was cheating using this to cut a few holes in my drywall. The blade itself is too flexible to start the initial cut but that flexibility pays off with being able to easily maneuver in tight spots.

The angle of the teeth allows this to cut very quickly and the previous saw I used wasn’t half as fast as this one. I’d love the blade to be interchangeable, such as when a stiffer blade would be appropriate, but honestly this thing is so cheap, I just bought another saw for wood jobs and use this pretty much exclusively for drywall work.

In retrospect, I should have just bought the double-edged wallboard saw but at the time, I thought this would work well for the wood cuts, too. Spoiler: it doesn’t. It’s too slow and can drift significantly when going through wood, particularly because of its flexibility.

This is for light duty. So, it is very good at that. But. if you are going to use it on any material to cut through over a 1/4 inch. I would recommend a sturdier brand! But it is fulfilling the light duty work I am using it for.

Arrived yesterday. Set up and run some trial pieces through. The unit seemed to work well enough for my needs. At this price point I would be happy to recommend it to my friends that do woodwork and know how to look after budget equipment.

Check back in 12 months and I will give you a review based on real experience. Out here in the middle of New South Wales deliveries always take one more day so I am happy with the delivery time at 6 days.

I bought this table saw after reading many reviews and watching several videos about it. The overwhelming reason for my purchase was to do repairs around my home. This model was easy to assemble and the directions were more than adequate in my opinion.

The unit only needed the most minute of adjustment out of the box , and for many, it would have been fine without any. The motor is powerful enough to cut most any wood product your average user would encounter.

I tested it out on a 4×4 post and didn’t notice any issues with bogging down or the overall quality of cut. Speaking of cut quality , the saw comes standard with a 24 tooth blade so it is what it is.

If you need better cut quality plan on investing in a higher quality blade as you would with any other saw. In closing I would have no issue recommending this unit to homeowners or the beginner who needs to get his feet wet and learn prior to investing larger sums of money for “producer” or professional level saws.

The value to price proposition is very strong with this unit.

The fence as is common with most entry level table saws is not precise – the back part does shift tiny fractions but I have some ideas I’m going to try to get it to stay fixed. The zero setting on the blade positioning actually gets the blade slightly off 90 degrees to the top of the table, so to actually fix it at right angle you can use a combination of a known square hardwood piece, the fence and carefully ensure the blade is perfectly at right angle and then tighten.

Just don’t rely on the written labels – it’s off by perhaps 0. 2 or 0. 5 degrees if you place it at zero. The biggest problem I saw was that the mitre track is non standard and if you want to use a box sled with this, that existing mitre track has edges sticking out that means a simple hardwood piece won’t sit perfectly.

I’m thinking about building a sled using the left and right side of the table top. There are two plastic pieces on the left side that acts as a stop when you fold the saw and use the wheels. They have to be removed if you want to create new tracks on the left and right.

Have to think if I want to proceed like this but I have not seen anyone present a better idea to use a sled on this thing. I thought I saw a picture of an outfeed assembly with this table saw but this doesn’t come with one.

Because the legs stand out a bit, if you really want an outfeed you have to see if your box or cabinet with adjustable height to take long sheets will go across – mine can’t go flush because of the legs.

You can build a simpler legs and use any solid flat sheet to act as a custom outfeed — or you can choose to remove the legs and stand it on a different box. I chose to keep the legs because it actually does fold over and the wheels allow you to move it around easily – as long as you don’t have stair – it operates like a dolly with a table saw stuck on when you unlatch the lock on the legs and fold it.

I may not move it out until I decide to redo my deck (2021!) but I just don’t feel like removing it.

Brought this home and after a few minutes noticed the numerous design flaws. First was the miter gauge slot. there’s only 1 instead of the regular 2 and it being on the right side of the blade. Which means jigs such as featherboard or making a cross cut sled which make making cuts easier are now not usable.

The “convenient” storage for accessories are very horribly places and badly designed. The storage for the blade guard is a really tight fit taking several minutes of maneuvering to finally get it into place and is just as difficult to take out.

The miter gauge, push stick and wrenches are all stored underneath the saw table and you have to undo a nut all the way to get them out. which means poor sight to see what your doing, uncomfortable way to take out the accessories, and risk of dropping them repeatedly on the ground.

The last design problem is that if you don’t want to use the stand it, is removable, but then the dust chute drags on the ground. Whoever designed this had no idea what they were doing.

Fantastic tool. Feels great in the hand, well balanced, the hand hammered, hefty steel blade is superior to western blades, holds the sharpness after several jobs. The hardwood block is of good quality and rock solid.

Adjusting as easy as knock on the block for up or the blade for down. Make it parallel takes a bit of learning but not hard. I have a smaller version too, can’t be without it as a luthier. I want to buy more.

Incredible fun to work with don’t seek ever buying a metal western plane. One more thing, it has been designed to pulled not pushed but I use both way no problem. Magic of well made, precise simplicity.

Was very surprised with this plane. I had to do very little to tune it when I first received it. It leaves the finest shavings. I tested it on several species of wood such as padduk, antique pine and birch all with wonderful results!.

The plane is amazing. The blade is already very sharp. The quality is very good. I will have many hours of planing.

I ordered this online (yay, pandemic). The locking nut is just a wing nut and bolt. I wouldn’t call this low-profile in any way. Does not look like the centre nut in the photo, it’s just a classic bolt with square profile to keep it in place and a wing-nut for tightening.

Other than this, it’s a t-bevel. It does what a t-bevel should do. My mistake for not ordering one with measurements on it, lesson learned.

Heavy duty is right, this thing is heavy. No mistaking this thing is in your tool pouch. This T-bevel should serve it’s purpose. Deducted a star for it’s sheer bulk and the fact that the description was a little misleading.

This T-bevel has no measurement markings. Should outlast me for sure.

Very useful. accuracy”, “value for money” and “sturdiness”

This is a good chisel for the money if you need a large chisel. It sharpened easily to a razor sharp edge. I have not used it enough to comment on edge sharpness retention. The handle is plastic and although it could be struck with a dead blow mallet, I am not sure about a metal headed hammer.

Used this chisel to notch out six 24 inch patio pavers for them to clear joists under my deck. This is not a chisel to blast away stones in heavy demolition work. The handle guard is not built to withstand numerous blows from sledgehammers, it is there to help guard and prevent your hand from slipping off the chisel while holding it.

After finishing with the patio pavers only the blade is showing normal wear, and only one of the two corners of the blade needs re-sharpened. Rest of the chisel still looks brand new. After using this chisel the only way the handle and guard can break off or the chisel fail as some reviews state is if this tool is abused and misused by someone who thought they would go cheap in using this chisel for heavy demolition work, which is not what this chisel is made to do.

This chisel was purchased for my son, a geology student, to use in the field to break up some rock layers. We purchased it because the hand guard would protect his hand when hammering at odd angles. The hand guard broke off within an hour.

The chisel itself worked adequately, but he has other cold chisels so without the hand guard, it didn’t fully serve its purpose.

It’s a chisel with a big fat head to wail on. It also has a rubberized grip, as a bonus. I have used it several times, successfully. If you don’t have a cold chisel, get this. Your life will be happier.

My only complaint is that the big head makes storing it in my Harbor Freight tool chest more difficult. But that’s a first-world problem.

There is just nothing that can compete with the value and features that the Veritas line of saws offer. The materials used are top notch and the saw is extremely comfortable in the hand. There is also no other tenon saw that offers this much depth of cut below the spine.

Buy it, you won’t regret the purchase.

I bought this in January and since then its been used weekly. Very sharp and well balanced, at first i was put off with the plastic back but it works really well and keeps the weight down. The quality of the steel is fantastic.

Take the plunge and buy one – you will not regret it.

I haven’t quite bought every Veritas product they make from Axminster but not far off! This saw is no exception to the very good Veritas range. Once broken in it is brilliant and very comfortable to use.
