Best Chinese Buffet Myrtle Beach (2025 Updated)

Received this item with a defective piece. It just so happened to be one of the front pieces along side the drawer. It is very noticeable and I’m not sure if it was cracked originally and I didn’t notice it until it was standing up or cracked when the top wood piece was put on.

Either way, the piece is cracked and shouldn’t be! I contacted Home styles about this defective piece and was told that because it was greater than 30 days from my order date they cannot replace the part.

I was not able to put it together right away due to space issues. I am so disappointed with the poor wood quality and customer service. Not to mention this is not a cheap piece of furniture and you have to assemble it yourself or pay extra to have it assembled! It looks nice in the picture but it’s a lot of pieces to put together and obviously poor quality.

Love this buffet/server. just the right size for all my handmade place mats and tablecloths. I change the decor of my small dining area every month with different themes (Christmas, Valentine’s Day, July 4th etc.

). The buffet/server was packed very well and arrived at my home in a timely fashion. Husband was busy assembling it with no problems until he got to the base. There are four pieces of wood already screwed on to the bottom of the base which are supposed to be centered on each side of the base.

one of the pieces was off center by about 3/4 of an inch. It made it impossible to screw the legs on properly. So I called Home Styles and explained the problem and Sherry assured me that another base would be on its way to me shortly.

Three days later, sure enough I received the new base. Well this one was damaged. I called Home Styles again and explained the problem. Three days later, I received another base. This one was perfect!!! Husband finished assembling the buffet/server and it stands next to our bistro style table and chairs.

A perfect match!! Thank you Home Styles for your help in fixing the base problem and so quickly. After all is said and done it really is a nice piece of furniture for the price!!!.

I just got this today and started assembly late in the day, but have the lower part assembled. The doors, with magnetic latches, are perfectly aligned. The drawers close smoothly and are also perfectly aligned.

I had a little trouble getting some of the cam locks to cooperate, but all things considered, this is a very well made piece of furniture. I may do an updated review with photos when I attach the hutch.

I have assembled many pieces of furniture sand found this similar to others as far as the ease of understanding instructions. I do recommend having someone help with assembly. I did it alone, but a second set of hands would have been useful.

This is a good piece of furniture with mostly hardwoods and veneers, with a nice finish. The instructions are well-written, and all parts were well-labelled, but the illustrations might have shown the cam lock screws and dowels a little more clearly.

Also they might have included a brief description about how far to turn the cam locks, and how much torque might be required. By the end of of the project my hands and forearms were pretty tired. There’s nothing overly-complicated about the typical cam lock/screws assembly, and a handy person should have no trouble finishing this project in 3~4 hours.

It took me the better part of an evening, but I was taking a more relaxed pace, reviewing some tricky steps multiple time and counting hardware. If I built another one it would go faster. Also, by the time you near completion of the piece, it’ll weigh about 100 pounds, so be prepared for some lifting.

Overall, it is good. It looks good, and performs the functions I need it to. However there are a couple of issues. -my piece came missing the small metal plates on one of the doors that the magnets are supposed to connect with.

So one door closes, the other door’s bare wood just bounces off the magnets. While the magnets you do attach yourself, the doors are supposed to come with the little metal piece they connect to, as they did on only one door.

-back of buffet is thin balsa wood, and the only part of the piece that isn’t the “real” wood. It is framed with the nice wood tho, so that helps. -also concerning the back, the frame (real wood) is held on to the rest of the buffet with two little 1″ screws, which are visible!! 1″ is not nearly long enough, and it kept de-threading and popping out.

So I replaced with a 1. 5″ screw which holds it on, but there are still two visible ugly screws on the outside back of buffet! Luckily it’s pushed up against a wall, but I really don’t like cheap shortcuts like that, even when they’re not visible.

-Be careful with instructions. While for the most part they are easy and clear, they don’t aways indicate the left or right, front or back. This caused me to have to undo things and then redo previous steps a couple times.

Not totally horrible, but annoying nonetheless. The whole assembly takes about 3 hours, which isn’t bad. -It really is nice looking. And the Cherry-Mahogany veener wood is beautiful and real. -it is deep and tall inside enough for liquor bottles.

The drawers come with partitions you can install. It’s not perfect, but it really is a nice looking piece with a good feel to it. It complements my dining room nicely.

When we bought our dining room set over 20 years ago, we never bought the matching server. This was fine because our dining room was so small. Last week we moved to a new home with a large dining room but fewer storage areas.

So I took a chance on this piece. It doesn’t “match” the set, but is close enough. I used the top drawers that have the dividers for my napkins and the bottom shelf for place mats. I am storing other than dining things in the other sections.

It arrived quickly. It was very heavy, so we unpacked it in the garage and brought the pieces in one-by-one or a few at a time. I would not have been able to put this together by myself because of the weight and the fact that you have to line things up and push hard to get them to fit.

But my husband did a great job with me just holding pieces into place. We are very pleased with the piece at this point.

I’ve purchased a lot of “stick” furniture over the years and this is the poorest quality wood I have encountered. The screws strip during assembly even during light pressure with a hand screwdriver. Every surface was covered in a dust of something like fiberglass – I put on gloves and cleaned it twice with a few disposable towels and light cleaner.

If “MADE IN CHINA” were a scented candle. It’s been in our home for over 2 weeks and has filled the entire house with a putrid chemical smell and something I can only compare to an electrical fire. (A few nights ago I woke up with that smell in my nostrils so firmly that I actually ran into the kitchen to make sure the stove was off).

The side doors are good fit and finish. Handles are very nice. The surface of the wood is smooth but scratches easily. Biggest 2 fit and finish gripes: 1) the front doors (despite adjusting hinges) just don’t fit well, as others mention there is a large, finger-wide gap in the doors.

2) the two drawers are on guides that don’t have a lip – meaning that you pull the drawer open and they wobble side to side, and/or get stuck. It feels old and abused right after you assemble it, but it was “only” $274.

This is very attractive and makes a great addition to any room. I have a small kitchen with really no silverware drawer or cupboard for dinnerware. This now holds those items and my different colors show through.

It needs two people to put it together. I did it as a senior female with a cold over 3 days, it was difficult because there are sooooo many screws and the pieces are very heavy to lift or move. Be sure that nothing hard hits or gets under a piece while you are working on it as the would is soft enough to dent.

I lined the shelves inside and the bottom level in the window cupboards to prevent scratching. I’m very happy with the outcome, and the cupboard doors are an automatic slow close, so don’t slam them.

They are a little tricky to get straight and to close properly.

The directions were minimal and unclear and the number of pieces to assemble seem a little ridiculous considering the price. I was expecting a screw here and a screw there. I all but cut and stained the wood, fine that’s an exaggeration but not by much – just seems like a lot for the price.

We found the instructions clear, and it went together easily, although I recommend having a friend around to steady the early steps, and a power screwdriver or drill/driver to speed things up.

The unit is attractive and very useful, with quite a bit of space behind the doors. My only slight disappointment was that the finish seemed a little mediocre, relatively dull and with one small blemish on the front frame member.

I recommend keeping it under a covered section of your patio or deck if possible. I suspect it would weather fairly rapidly if left fully exposed to wind, rain, and sun.

The instructions were understandable. I have it outside on a covered patio by my table and chairs. I doubt I would use it in the open weather however. I do plan on “oiling” the wood at some point as it will probably protect it and look even sharper.

I looked for a long time for what I wanted (closable doors to hide some things!; the correct length and width for the spot. ) This turned out perfect. It would look very nice indoors as well depending on your decorating style.

Surprised to receive this barely 24 hours after ordering! Well packed and not damaged. All pieces intact, instructions easy, tools provided but quicker with power drill and bits. Construction and hardware look better than expected, color is very dark brown/black as shown.

This will be left outside as sideboard for hot tub chemical storage and something to set drinks and folded towels on, dimensions are just right. Note that all surfaces are slatted and therefore exposed to dust and elements.

I may get a couple pieces of 1/8″ clear plexi to place on top and shelf to keep the rain sort of away from the interior. Won’t be able to store anything in cardboard box inside. So far, a very affordable and good-looking solution to Outdoor Storage/Spa Furniture.

It is definitely an attractive piece and serves my purpose perfectly. The reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is that it was a challenge to assemble. However, given the reasonable price, it is probably all worth it.

May be worth it to pay for on site assembly if this is available.

For the price, the cabinet does what I need it to. A couple parts arrived damaged and Wayfair made that right. Overall glad we purchased a less expensive cabinet for the playroom – the quality isn’t what I would recommend for a living room focal point but I assumed that based on price/description.

Stunning sideboard. Very solid and elegant. My only complaint would be a corner was slightly squished but not noticeable enough to send it back. My husband loves it. It was packed exceptionally well.

Can’t say enough about how pleased we are with this purchase.. quality, quality, quality and a beautiful color and finish. Bought other furniture from this manufacturer!

LOVE this console table. It’s the perfect size for our deck and matches our current teak furniture nicely. It was easy to put together! The instructions were clear and most of the pieces were pre-drilled.

And electric screwdriver made the job very easy.

Easy assembly, even for 2 Grandmothers! Looks great. Nice solid wood. Dont hesitate on this one.

Once assembled it is really solid and sturdy. Well engineered. It took me about 3 hours to assemble carefully. Instructions are only pictures (no words) and all the pieces have numbers, even the screws.

There are wooden dowels but you don’t need or want to put any glue into the peg holes. They serve to guide the alignment and steady the connections once the quarter-turn locking nuts are in place. There is even an optional safety strap you can use to keep the cabinet from pulling or tipping away from the wall.

In my kit there were a number of extra screws in case you lose one or two. My only mistake was to confuse the screws used for the back with the ones used for the hinges. The back screws are slightly smaller so be warned and look carefully at the labels on the plastic envelopes.

I never order furniture online but with this I took a gamble. The instructions were pictures. no words so it was semi confusing. all parts were labeled tho. The bottom of the drawers, which is of a heavy cardboard, I do need to be careful cuz I feel like they will be damaged in the future depending on what I have in there.

the material of the doors is thin too. I bought this for my Keurig which fit perfectly. The inside of the cabinet is big enough for many things. This took me 3 hrs rather than the 2 and a half. I had trouble with the drawers cuz I put the inside runners on the wrong sides.

I didn’t have to start all over just a quick switcharoo and I was done.

We both thought the item looked ok once assembled. We paid a small amount for this unit and believe it is fairly priced for what you get. Yes the quality could be better but that would cost significantly more money.

I would recommend to all if you wanted a unit to look ok and to provide a light storage solution.

Absolutely love this piece of furniture!! Adds such charm to my dinning area! The quality of workmanship is outstanding. Love that I can hang wine glasses and it stores a few bottles of wine nicely. Just a beautiful piece of furniture!!.

This is sturdy and nice to look at but it’s shorter than I thought! I should’ve done better measurements. Much shorter than other sideboards so good for small spaces. Was fairly easy to put together.

My sideboard arrived right away and we put it together that day! Great directions and I just love it! Perfect size for my entryway!!!

I find myself staring with delight at my new buffet since the day it arrived-earlier than anticipated, which was a bonus! It changed the whole room and made it brighter and more cheerful. Since this is a linen buffet, the top drawers are lined with a soft material, which is another great feature.

The buffet cabinet did not come with the bun legs pictured and described! The back of the cabinet is flimsy particleboard, not wood. And one area was smashed in!

A beautiful piece of furniture. Purchasing it was easy with Coleman. Customer service was great however, the buffet had a few scratches which the delivery guys claimed that it came from the store like that.

They basically forced me to sign that everything was ok with the furniture.

Very well designed solid and spacious cupboard buffet with a three-brightness level inner lighting. Some bordure coloring displays reflective glitz, which may not for everyone taste. Overall – an excellent piece.

Piece is beautiful and was worth the wait. Noticed a few issues with a draw and door that I will be reporting to customer care.
