My family got the Coleman Sundown 6- Person Dome Tent to use when I was young to go camping which we really enjoyed doing as a family most weekends every summer before my parents got a divorce. My father kept some of the camping equipment that was still in good condition at the family home.

So just a few years later, when me and my now husband, boyfriend at the time, had our daughter, we absolutely wanted to show her the simplicity and enjoyment you can have away from electronics. She wanted to help with everything!!! The Coleman Sundown 6- Person Dome Tent is fairly easy and quick to set up.

It DEFINITELY helps keep you dry as we learned one night when while my husband was trying to cook over the tripod, it started to pour rain instantly. Without thinking about the rest of the food, we ran into the tent thinking that it should stop pretty quickly.

Instead, within 1 min of us going into the tent to get dry, we hear noises from right outside the tent and a large group of about 30 raccoons came to take EVERY SINGLE ITEM OF FOOD WE BROUGHT!!! They were tag teaming by sending 1 raccoon in to grab a whole large box of donuts and run out.

Then another would come running right up, dig in the grocery bag and grab a whole bag of bagels, next one- cream cheese, next one- chips, then came over to our cooler that was right outside the tent to get our bottles of water etc.

All my husband, daughter and myself could do is stand there and laugh as we watched them out the window of the tent. We laughed all night UNTIL our daughter had to use the restroom and we were still surrounded by atleast 30 sets of raccoon eyes.

Let’s just say we NEVER visited that camp site again. Then a few years later the movers we hired somehow lost that wonderful memory maker of 2 generations just about 😢 But I would absolutely recommend that Coleman Sundown 6- Person Dome Tent to all the beginner campers or all the experienced campers who still love camping the traditional way.

Great tent. I set it up in my backyard, to give it a trial run (and seam seal) before taking it out camping. There are pros and cons. Pros: Carry bag – the tent comes neatly packed in a carry bag, with tent, poles, rain fly, ground stakes, door mat, and instructions.

Setup – Easy. Set up by myself, with rain fly, in under 15 minutes. Didn’t have to look at the directions. Only suggestion would be to put the word “front” somewhere on the rain fly to indicate which way it goes.

However, a quick glance at the packaging will tell you. Materials – the tent material seems to be of good quality, and should hold up well when taken care of. The zippers are not heavy duty, but i see no issues with them.

The floor is heavy duty tarp material. Screens – the tent has large screen panels on the “ceiling”, which makes for a great view when the rain fly is not on. There is an additional window, and screen on the door for extra viewing and airflow.

Floor Vent – there is a vent near the rear of the tent, which allows for additional airflow. Cord access – there is a small zippered panel in the front corner, that let’s you run an extension cord into the tent.

Other “Pros”: I got the Navy/Grey tent, and the colors are cool. Got some compliments from the neighbors on it. I like that the rain fly comes with the guy lines already attached. The interior gear pockets are fine, good for holding your phone.

Wouldn’t stuff them with anything heavy. There is a little “ring” at the center of the ceiling, to hang a small light. While you could technically fit 2 queen air mattresses, I would not. It leaves no floor space for gear.

I will put in one mattress, and leave the other half of the tent for my kids Pack n’ Play, and gear. It will fit the 3 of us comfortably. However, unless you intend to get cozy, I wouldn’t advise this for 4 adults (but it could be done).

Cons: Stakes – the stakes are just ok. they are the generic skinny steel ones. I would recommend spending an extra $10 bucks and buy some good ones. Footprint – the tent doesn’t come with a footprint, though I imagine this helps keep the cost so low.

Not a big deal, I use a tarp anyways. Door Screen – the upper half of the door can be unzipped to reveal the screen window. I really would have liked if the entire door could be screen, not just the top half.

I also purchased some Coleman Seam Sealer, and sealed all the seams inside the tent, and the rain fly. Some of the seams are taped, but it’s just good practice to spend the time to do this, no matter what brand/cost/etc tent you have.

It saves headache down the road. Overall, I’m very pleased with the tent, and the cost. It will work well for short camping trips with a small family, couple, or individual.

The bag in which the tent and it’s related rods or pins come, is nicely packed inside. Instruction manual is stitched with the bag so it was helpful in windy weather not to worry about it being flown away.

The tent was big enough for a family of three and a dog and had ample space left for keeping something overnight inside that we didn’t want to left it in open. Installation as well as dismantling was really easy.

It comes with small foot mat sort of thing. The flooring is already stitched in it in case someone is worried about keeping extra tarp. Extra tarp is not needed with it. The windows are given that can be opened or closed and few pouches stitched inside to keep your bottle or something in it.

Overall, it was a good experience in camping using this tent.

I just got back from my first 3-night camping trip with this tent. The size is good for one person, allowing room for a 30″x72″ sleeping pad with room on the side for a small rug and some gear. I wanted something that was taller and easier to get in and out of than my backpacking tent.

I like the tall, spacious vestibule with a door flap that cleanly stores out of the way. The vestibule should provide protection from the rain (though it didn’t rain on my trip) while allowing easy access to the tent interior by way of the large door.

I like that I can reach much of the interior space from the vestibule without having to enter the tent to get something. I didn’t like that the tent door zipper constantly snagged on the wide protection flap, but this door, too, had a nice pocket to store the door when fully open.

The small gear loft is tidy and barely takes any headroom. There are small rings at the tent seams to hang small lanterns and such. I was disappointed that 3 walls of the tent are mesh. The Coleman description says, “Roof vents and mesh back wall help with ventilation and airflow inside the tent for ultimate comfort.

” Since they made a point of saying the back wall was mesh, I assumed the side walls were not. They also don’t bother to show a photo of the tent without the rainfly installed, which would have been useful.

I tend to go camping off-season when the temperatures are cooler. The first night I had a constant draft of 40-degree air falling on me. The second night, I closed the roof vents and vestibule door, which helped somewhat.

I wanted to be able to leave the vestibule door open for those middle-of-the-night bathroom breaks. The pole sleeve in the rainfly is too narrow, making it difficult to feed the poles through. The worst part of this tent are the pre-attached poles.

The attached poles make folding/unfolding the tent much more cumbersome. I also would like to be able to dry the tent on a clothesline without two bundles of poles making it more complicated. By permanently attaching the poles to the base of the tent, Coleman created a much larger problem than the one they were trying to solve.

For starters, I have owned a couple of tents before and as a family, we have now settled on a Kodiak Canvas tent. This tent will serve as a spare, for friends or our kids. The set-up was easy and straightforward enough and could be done by 1 person.

It should be mentioned that the fiberglass poles of the main tent are attached to the back 2 corners of the tent, something that makes the entire setup more vulnerable to breakage, in my humble opinion.

The inner tent seems properly ventilated until you put the entire rainfly over. Today is a 90’s day and the tent is unbearably hot but hopefully, it will cool down to acceptable temperatures as night falls.

The rain fly attaches to the inside frame with velcro and hooks easily behind the stakes. What I do not like is that there is only 1 extra stake hole for the back of the tent to pull the rainfly away from the tent.

The sides are only held down on the corners not in the middle of the sides. I have sprayed sealant over all the seams of the tent to ensure the seams won’t let in any rain. Upon doing so, all 4 corners looked like the seams were stretched and would come apart fairly easily.

Inside, the tent is spacious, and as the description mentions, could hold 2 queen air mattresses. The awning in front of the tent which can be zipped up/down, is a definite plus for me as there is no mesh that can leak rain through and is very spacious for a number of items that don’t deserve a space inside the tent.

In conclusion, the tent seems solid enough for occasional camping. I would definitely advise for a tarp underneath to extend its life and an annual sealant application. I believe that it will last probably 2 to 3 years, perhaps even 4, with careful use.

The oztent RV is NOT waterproof!! We purchased this tent to travel australia this year thinking we were doing the right thing purchasing a premium tent when instead we should’ve purchased something from Kmart.

Unfortunately for the first 6 weeks of our trip (Melbourne to Rockhampton) it just rained everyday. We dreaded sleeping each night because the corners pooled with water and the middle seam dripped water on us all night making the bedding and mattress wet (which never dried out between campsites).

Oztent very kindly replaced the tent thinking that it mustn’t have been waterproofed at the factory however the same thing occurred with tent number two. Oztent then proceeded to advise us to purchase a fly, a floor mesh mat and a waterproof bag.

Together these cost $500+. I can happily say that after purchasing these extras (particularly the fly) the tent is waterproof. However it is seriously disappointing that the tent is advertised as waterproof although it’s not without at least purchasing the fly.

Keep this in mind when purchasing your oztent!! The fly also adds an extra 7 guy ropes and 2 poles to the setup so the whole ‘30 second’ thing goes out the window. This review is nothing against BCF.

These RV tents are quickest and easiest tents to set up and take down The only thing faster to set would be a throw down tent However a throw down usually involves wrestling match to fold up. Besides you can’t stand up in a tube tent; I like to stand up to put my pants on and not have to slide and snake my way into my pants.

Being a Solo camper I went for the RV3 as it allows you to store food and excess gear inside the tent couples might want to consider the RV4 or RV5. Remember when selecting the tent size for needs that all manufactures basically state how many people you can inside during an emergency so remember to go for a size that caters to at least one person more than you intend to camp inside.

Back to the RV3 the biggest draw back to this tent is it’s packed up length. You will probably going to need a roof rack which is an added cost to the tent which isn’t the cheapest. In my case I picked up a cheap roof rack tray by Rough Country from Auto Barn for $250.

I took my New Tent for test down to the hills behind Tamworth. Due to roadworks I arrived just on dusk. So I was incredibly thankful the speed I could put this tent up. Had I had my old dome tent I would have had to try and sleep in the car.

there is no fighting to threat poles through the sides or fighting to get and keep tent poles into their base plates. the longest part of setting up camp was inflating the double high air mattress. Just after dark it belted down with rain for most of the night and the next morning.

Which didn’t bother me as I was snug as bug in my own portable log cabin well that’s what this tent felt like to me. The only disappointment was that I noticed one of the struts inside the tent was slightly bent, whether it was like this or I have bent it from tiring it down too hard I don’t know but it hasn’t effected how study this tent is in rough weather.

My only regret is that I didn’t take the plunge years ago and get one of these tents sooner. Unless you’re back packing or a family with small kids I wouldn’t waste my time with swags or throw downs or dome tents.

I’ve wasted thousands on different tents over the years. Bite the bullet save the pennies and get it right the first time. You get a sturdy long lasting tent that will last you years That is hassle free to set up and take down.

Love the tent, if you’re interested in purchasing one I highly recommend getting the fly, especially if you plan on winter camping. Tent material and quality is high, and a great touring tent. If you plan on doing multiple weekends away have a good think as it’s Harvey and takes up a lot of room.

You may even need riif racks if you don’t have a tube/Ute as it’s quiet long. I’ve used this in hot sand, summer spring and in pouring rain. If you setup the tent right this this will keep you dry. Only downer is the bag, after the 10th use the bags straps snapped, for the coin OzTrail should offer a better bag.

All in all highly recommend.

Solid design made with sound materials! 7000 series aluminum is robust enough to take on most weather (thinking wind load here). Note: 7000 series aluminum is not really designed to bend (be mindful as you set your tent up).

It is possible to snap a section of pole. The mesh allows ample air to circulate through when the fly is off (like most tents). The polyester taffeta 1500 is just like most entry-level waterproofing (it will do the job.

but don’t expect it to last a lifetime). With a footprint, you should be fine though. My only issue lies with the distance the fly rests over the mesh. This is an issue that most tent companies deal with so take it with a grain of salt.

Moisture buildup takes place on the underside of the fly. The only fix for this is to increase the distance between the fly and the mesh. Some companies have this figured out. Surprisingly many have yet to? For the price you won’t be disappointed.

Fits a 6’0″ person fine (with gear). Sitting up is snug (doable. but snug). Happy trails.

I love this little tent. The full mesh body makes it feel larger inside than it really is because the walls are not closing in on you. The yellow is bright, so it is easy to spot if you wander a little far from camp (the green is a bit softer than the picture, not a bright kelly green).

I was surprised when I set it up because the end by the feet is smaller than the end by the head. I am all about cutting unnecessary weight, so I don’t mind, but I said the size runs small because of this.

It also creates a unique shape overall because the overhead bar is not set directly in the center like most tents. Even so, we did not notice once we were inside. We fit two people without feeling crowded and still had room at our feet to put some stuff.

The tent is very easy to set up, but you do have to line it up correctly since the size changes from one end to the other. The poles and hooking straps are color-coded, so this is not a problem. I haven’t taken this out on a full backpacking trip yet, but using it in the campground has worked very well.

The seams are sealed well and we didn’t have any issues with rain. Eureka has also worked great for us in the past!.

Just got back from 5 nights in Algonquin. This tent worked perfectly and is super easy to set up and take down. I’ve owned three (possibly four) different Eureka tents over the course of 38 years (including two or three different Eureka Timbetrlines models as well as a six-person family cabin) and have used the Timberlines on Isle Royale, in the Porkies, on the Ontonogan, in Algonquin, Quetico, Acadia National Park, Rocky Mountian National Park, and all over Michigan’s Lower Penninsula.

This is far and away the best tent I have owned. I particularly loved the oval door design – the zippers work much more easily than the straight/rectangular design- and it is super easy to get into and out of, especially in the middle of the night for those bathroom breaks.

The rain fly (with the guylines, zipper system, and ventilation system) is outstanding and it was never stuffy in the tent even on a really humid and warm night.

Its no more than 8 Inch tall peephole, cant see out the front of the tent. It might as well be an oven inside. Excellent tent for cooler-cold weather. Failed me for ventilation With the top on, there is no air flow, even during heavy 30mph winds.

No way to be in this tent in warm weather, inside the tent heats up and no way to cool it down with rain fly on while trying to keep UV out. I drove 1. 5 hour round trip home to get my 30 year old tent for a few key reasons.

The old tent I planned to retire- all the mesh windows and doors can zip open allowing all the air flow one can handle without the sun coming in, if bugs arrive, while restricting, windows and doors can then have mesh up to keep them out.

Top roof panels could be closed to keep sun out while windows and doors zipped open. This tent has 1 way in, 1 way out and either full sun and wind or no sun or breeze (temp regulation) in the tent. This is the only reason I am returning it.

I can’t have a tent that is all or nothing with comfort. Over all, for me, I would still say it’s a great tent. Far better than a cheap off brand from WM stores. No real chemical smell, didn’t bother me to sleep in because of this.

I took this tent on its maiden voyage last weekend. I say voyage because it rained for 14 hours straight. The tent was totally dry and stable in the moderate winds. Once it dried out, I was able to open up the front door flap and enjoy the cooler breeze coming in.

The tent is rated as a four person tent which makes it perfect for one person who is car camping with all the luxuries of home! The height is just right – tall enough to almost stand straight up and short enough to not catch too much wind.

Several of the others on the camping trip came over to inspect the tent, take pictures, and check it out on their phones. They have probably already bought one for themselves! I also purchased the optional footprint.

It was a perfect fit and was very valuable in deflecting all of the rain and ground water during the mini-monsoon. I was able to set this tent up by myself in 6-7 minutes, including the rain fly. I am very happy with this tent and would highly recommend it.

We purchased the Tallboy 4 from MooseJaw back in March. We set the tent up once before our first trip to make sure we understood the directions. We immediately noticed how difficult it was to slide the poles through the pole sleeves – the pole couplers snag at the pinch points where the fly clips on.

Upon breaking down the tent after our first outing, we noticed a two-inch tear on one of the pole sleeves. We contacted Kelty to see if we could have it repaired/replaced under warranty, but have still not received a solution from them.

Bummer, as it’s a nice, spacious tent.

My 5-yr old Grandson is always wanting to camp…in the house, at the park, in the back yard, etc. So for. Christmas he is getting his 1st tent. Was recently delivered; need to wrap for the tree. Keeping my fingers crossed that it gets lots of use! Giving a 5 star rating now.

I didnt like anything about this tent. It’s not a 2 person(not adult anyway) it leaked the first 2 minutes of rain. The front doesn’t close all the way. Or zip all the way. Ice never seen a tent that didnt zip so it would close all the way un front, but it doesn’t so you have tge front of your tent open except the net zips.

Great value for price. Only complaint is no rainfly. (There is an optional bandana-sized scrap of coverage they call a “rainfly” but it won’t do any good. ) Perfect for kids, good weather, first-timers not ready to invest in quality equipment.

Might last a season.

Great, great tent. Incredibly easy intuitive to set up. I have camped in rain storms and had water flowing under the tent with no ground tarp and everything stayed dry; great bathtub (was very impressed as I thought my stuff would be wet for sure).

I have not experienced extreme wind but tent held up very well in strong winds. The Dark Room technology stuff is true – it really stays dark in there even when there is light out. Mind you, it’s not a photography dark room.

but yes it’s dark enough to sleep in accidentally. SUPER roomy inside. Easy to put away and handy little carrying bag. Great tent for car camping or short portage or backpacking trips. I fit 2 sleeping bags, this tent, cookware and some other stuff in my 85L portage bag.

I was pretty cold at night with an older 0 degree bag and this tent when temperatures dropped below 0 degrees but haven’t tried another brand in extreme cold to compare. If your goal is to portage and do single trips, you may want to find a smaller tent but if you don’t mind the extra 2-8 lbs and the odd double carry, this tent is luxurious in the backcountry.

I just prefer a smaller tent for longer portage trips that will also take up less volume in my pack – this is self preference and nothing against product.

We bought this for our first camping trip for us and our 4 year old. You can’t depend on perfect weather while camping so I was sold on the “storm proof” claims for wind and rain. The first night was fine, it rained a little and everything was fine.

It was totally dark in the tent as the sun came up which helped our kid sleep a little longer. The next day, the wind picked up to 20mph (claims it can handle 35mph) and it completely ruined the tent! At least 4 large rips in the seams and the rain fly has multiple holes in it too, including where the rope ties to the stake to keep it down.

Also the zipper is GARBAGE, constantly snagging and was so hard to open and close because it would just get stuck. Super disappointing that a name brand for camping gear would produce such a bad product that fell apart after one use.

Pros: – really dark in the daylight – person 6ft and under can stand up fine – it felt roomy with a queen size matress in it Cons: -can’t handle wind, will literally rip at the seams – probably couldn’t handle rain because wind causes holes in the rain fly – zipper will cause extreme frustration.

You have to use 2 hands on the zipper door, inside and out. The zipper does not move with one hand, and it gets caught in the rain flap. Maybe it’s just me, but camping with children, you rarely enter/exit a tent with both hands free.

Seems you always have something in one hand, clothes, flashlight, shoes, etc. Having to put down whatever you are carrying made me think about my last tent that we wore out, it was a one hand zipper, always.

The Skydome tent we have has an led rope with control box. The LED rope goes through a skinny sleeve at the inside front of the tent. There is a pocket sewn to hold the control box, but it is on the opposite side of the door zippers.

Like having your room light switch on the opposite side of the door opening. It’s just awkward. The Skydome feature is not a good feature to have when looking for an all around tent. If you put the rainfly on, which you have to, to have any privacy at a camp ground, then there is zero airflow through the tent.

The only opening you can have is the half moon on the door. To get more airflow, we pulled back one corner of the rain fly every day. The other problem with skydome is the whole top 1/3 of the tent is screen.

If you camp anywhere with wind and dust, then it blows dirt right up the rainfly, through the mesh top, and all over your bedding and belongings. Last, the poles are permanently attached to the tent, and instructions say to roll the tent up around the folded poles.

The poles are the exact length of the storage bag. With the bulk of the tent and rainfly, and poles in the middle of the tent, the storage bag zipper is extremely tight and feels like it will fail in a few uses.

The tent leaked at the seam connecting the side window section to the lower tent section on one of the side panels. On close inspection, it is clear this was a defect in the tape/glue which escaped quality inspection during manufacturing.

I would not call this an ‘instant’ tent. After a learning curve, it takes approximately 15 minutes to set up from start to finish (unpacking to last stake). the same amount of time as with my flexible pole tent.

It does take approximately 60 seconds to extend the poles, but this is only after the tent, poles, and center hub have been positioned just correctly. The tent is heavy and bulky. And as noted above, the poles and center hub need to be positioned just correctly or the tent is neither going to go up, nor fold-up when taking the tent down.

On one occasion during take down and fold-up, the tent fabrics somehow tightened, causing a small rip in the tent floor. Strong gusts of wind will dislodge the poles that support the fly over the doors.

After years of searching for a durable and quality tent for my family, I was pleasantly surprised with the value and ease of set-up of this Coleman – Skylodge 10 person Tent. The interior of the tent is so spacious, I have never come across one like it! Not only is it a breeze to assemble, but it is also easy to fold-up and pack away.

In the past I have had terrible time disassembling a tent and trying to fit it back into it’s case. The amount of space inside the tent is unbelievable and it has so many awesome features! Such as the room divider and interior pockets for personal storage.

This awesome tent has a max height of over 6 feet, and can fit up to 4 queen size mattresses! This tent is an incredible value, made with exceptional quality materials. I look forward to many more years of family camping fun! I totally recommend!.

My husband and I have experience with the sky Lodge variation of Coleman’s camping equipment! The eight person instant cabin from sky Lodge is a definite upgrade from our last Coleman tent. I will say it does take a little more than a 60 seconds from start to finish, however, it is extremely easy to pitch! Where you pitch your tent / cabin / shelter when campingmakes all the difference! I’m excited to have this and test it out on our pre-planned camping trip next month My experience with this type of tent and variation (although a 4 person), has always worked out well for us and having this eight person sky Lodge now is a definite upgrade! Definitely going to love the extra room it has in it! We are very excited to be able to take our grandchildren with us this year.

And that would not have been possible if had it not been for this tent! I am not at all the kind of person who can look at a tent and just set it up! This tent however seems fairly straightforward and definitely easier than some of the tents we’ve experienced in the past! The extra amenities that this tent brings are a welcomed upgrade! I do know from owning the previous version of this tent that it does withstand the rain, it has extra features which I do love.

We can blow up our air beds queen size at that, outside of the tenant easily bring it inside as the openings are wide enough to do so. The rain fly on this 10th / cabin is very good. Keeps the rain out.

I’m assuming it will do it with this one as well. We love the fact that you can stand up my husband is 6 ft and he’s able to move around the tent freely. Myself being 5’55 I have no problems whatsoever I can go from one side of the tent to the other without having to crouch over! It’s sturdy design is a welcome added feature giving us a security that we need to enjoy our trip! Very much looking forward to this camping trip and bringing back all the necessary details to update this review! However I will say if it performs anything like the four man version I’m sure I’m going to be extremely thrilled with it! I will definitely update my review once we are back from our camping trip! I will say this, whether you’re pitching a tent in the backyard or you’re going on a long distance trip having Coleman and the sky Lodge with you is going to make your experience even better!.

The instant technology didn’t work. It was extremely frustrating that the poles did not extend and align properly. One ended up breaking and I had to shove a huge tent back into a card board box. This technology seems to be made for a smaller tent NOT one of this size.

I have a 4 man Coleman with instant technology and it’s great. Luckily I had that one and was able to borrow another tent to use for our camping trip. It is worth stating that the return process was extremely long as well, the customer service rep was not knowledgeable and it took over an hour on the phone with what should’ve taken 5 minutes.

And it’s still not clear if I will get my $400+ back as I had to submit a claim with photos. Any other customer service no a days will refund you instantly in a situation like this. I won’t be purchasing this or another Coleman tent again.

I have a 8 person much more expensive tent thats made for more rigorous use. It folds down into a largish backpack, is relatively light given its size and its made for longer adventures. Two distinct rooms.

So why did I want another large tent? That is a nice tent if youre going to stay somewhere a while, but its a bit of a chore to put up and take down, with a lot of steps. Also, not exactly something Im wanting my kids to mess up.

This one is good in every way that one is not. It couldnt be easier to put up. I actually overthought it at first, getting me to think it was harder and couldnt be done by myself. Then I realized, just extend the corner poles until they snap into place.

Knowing that, less than five minutes from out of the bag to fully assembled though I didnt put the stakes in the first time, since it was out on my patio. I couldnt believe how easy it is to raise and lower.

Comes with a wide welcome mat which is a sheet of footprint like material that connects on two corner to the tent itself. It might blow around but wont blow away. Large windows on each side, and an open mesh ceiling with out the rainfly for watching stars.

Also comes with a room barrier which is enough for a little privacy on two sides, but not really a barrier. Doesnt go to the roof and can easy get under or around. But does make for a helpful addition for families/friends.

Its a standard description for the amount of people, which is usually smaller than youd think, but thats the way of tents. Two queen size air mattresses could fit in with no problem, and theres a power cord access for inflation or other power needs.

Really great design all around, and because its so easy to put up, is really great for road trips where you might camp one night in places or for all sorts of other uses. Theres two significant weaknesses.

One, its really heavy. Two, it doesnt fold down small. It wouldnt fit inside the back of our Outback, only on top. So, youd have to.

Overall, a decent tent that is roomy and easy to assemble. Its not going to last if you are a very frequent camper that heads into some heavy duty terrain, but if you camp a few weekends during the summer or want something for the kids to use in the backyard, this tent will work for you.

Actually, this tent is excellent for backyard camping. I received the six person tent, and its big enough to hold a couple twin/full air mattresses for three or four kids, a cooler for snacks and drinks, blankets, and pillows.

No worries about inclement weather rolling in as the tent is waterproof. It can get a little stuffy with the windows zipped up, so if you have a couple of battery or charger block operated fans you can hang in the tent, all the better.

The tent poles are strong enough to hang a few lightweight lights from, or you can tuck a couple into the little storage net at the top of the tent. If you do use this for backyard camping, a little opening has thoughtfully been incorporated into one of the corners so you can run a a power strip out to the tent for lights, a fan, small tv, chargers, etc.

The tent isnt made for tall people as the center of the tent is only 56. My husband is a foot taller than this, so he really has to stoop when inside the tent. My head hits the storage net, but I dont need to bend down as much to move around the inside of the tent.

We use a big king air mattress with this tent, and still have plenty of room for a little bedside camping table and two camping chairs for a little sitting/reading area. Setup is straightforward and quick and doesnt take a Ph.

D. or multiple people. One person can easily set up this six person version in well under ten minutes even moving at a very leisurely, meandering pace. Though the bottom is waterproof, we do set this up over a large tarp in order to protect the floor from any tears or punctures.

The rest of the tent is waterproof as well, even in downpours though you dont want to open the main door as t.

This tent replaces my trusty 14-year old Coleman dome tent which was so reliable, Im keeping it to use as an equipment tent for longer stays. Ive used it once so far for three nights only. My first impression is that its pretty decent.

Its extremely easy and quick to set up–I think I could even set it up in the dark without too much trouble. Understand that it does NOT come with the rain fly I bought that separately. I dont yet know how it will perform in rain, as it didnt rain that weekend where I was camping.

Youre supposed to be able to use this minus the rainfly, but I dont trust that. The 2 vents at the top are tiny maybe an inch high and dont let in much air my old tent had much more top vent area. They could have at least put in 4 vents at the top.

That being said, the large windows on every side were fantastic for cross-ventilation. I had to close them at night, as it was cooler, but I stayed plenty warm. I do wish they had installed some way to tie up the front window flaps I used plastic clips so the flaps didnt hang straight down.

You can tie the door back, but Ive never had a reason to do so–that lets in bugs. The zipper at the top corner of the door is starting to pull a little and remember, this was my first use I hope it lasts.

There is one feature my old tent had that this does not which is pretty essential to me: my old tent had a zipped and flap-covered portal in one corner for my extension cord and that never leaked. This tent does not.

I had to bring my power cord in through the door, and it is really in the way. A flap does cover it, but every time you use the door, you have to arrange the cord for optimal coverage a giant pain in the posterior.

My brother, who has an identical tent and loves it, told me he brought his in through the top, but the only portal I could find was through the vent, which would make the power cord hang down in the middle of the tent.

That would be even worse. Overall, I think its a pretty nice.

Bought this instead of a drive away awning for my new campervan. Lightweight, easy to put up. Can place right next to van door. With 4 opening doors it is easy to use. Easy to stand up in. Not ideal as a sleeping tent as it is only single skinned and will suffer from condensation but it is ideal as a day shelter or for storage.

To protect the floor from damage I have used 2 old pieces of awning carpet.

Very easy to put up, but practice first there is a knack to the pop up. Easy to fold down. Been up for three days in bad weather wind & rain. Is it waterproof ? No. Not sure how water gets in, mainly corners but several pieces of kitchen roll sort it.

Could be severe condensation but I doubt it. Pegs down well. But overal a great tent.

I purchased this tent for working on wildfires in Alaska, since the sun doesn´t set there, and that can make sleeping difficult sometimes. I spent 16 nights in it and had to set it up and take it down thrice, so I feel as if I´ve thoroughly tested this tent.

PROS: Set up is actually quite easy, much easier than take-down, I thought. The poles slide nicely into housing on 4 corners of the tent, and you just start clipping tent material to said poles. In all, it takes about 3-4 minutes to get the tent “standing.

” This tent could easily sleep 4 people. It´s quite roomy inside there! CONS: While this advertises “darkroom” technology, it doesn´t achieve much of anything in that regard. The rainfly and windowpane covers are made of this black, rubbery material that blocks out light, but the tent body itself is not.

Thus, unless the sun is shining directly overhead, you´re not going to notice much (if any) light reduction. I would usually head to bed at around 11PM, and the light level was such that you could read a book inside the tent without any eye strain.

The notion that this tent will provide you with a dark environment is simply not true. Biggest con: this thing is *extremely* sensitive to wind. Like, it will bow over on itself in a 5mph breeze unless you thoroughly stake this sucker down with the guylines.

I repeat, STAKE THE GUYLINES DOWN. Simply staking 4 corners of the tent is not enough. This wants to be a kite more than any other tent I have used. Overall, 3/10, would not recommend. Roomy, sure, but not a great piece of equipment.

Ho-ly cow. this thing is HUGE! When I first decided to go with this tent over the similar instant-up tent I was a little worried I had made the wrong decision. Yes, it takes a lot longer to set up and tear down, but in my opinion it is WORTH it when you realize the real-estate you’re creating.

Things to note: We have a family of 5, camp a few times a year, and typically stay on site for 3-4 days (an extended weekend or longer). The GOOD: –The space. it’s incredible to have headroom and walking-around room in a tent like this.

–Front porch. this hybrid area can serve as a mudroom or a bedroom if that makes sense, and it’s great for keeping bugs out of the main cabin. –Built like a brick house. during out first camping trip with this tent we had torrential rains for 30+ hours and major wind gusts and this thing just laughed at the weather.

Obviously it’s not going to protect against things like tree branches falling, but rain and wind didn’t affect this thing at all –the BAG! Finally a tent that actually fits back in it’s storage bag with room to spare.

Use the tent pole bag to roll the tent around – works great. The BAD (no deal breakers here!): –It’s heavy. You’re not hauling this thing much further than your car, but that’s also the trade off for the incredible space you get out of this tent.

–25+ minutes to set up, and the same (or more) to tear down. and much more difficult if you’re by yourself. Did a backyard test before taking it to the field and learned the hard way how to best set it up solo.

Stake it in BEFORE adding poles and it will save you a LOT of time and effort. The UGLY (Being super nit-picky here): –I wish the 3 sides of the rain fly over the main cabin curved outward to better cover the windows during a rain storm.

–Not a fan of the split in the material where the poles go through across the sides (grey and orange poles especially. ) Not sure why this isn’t one continuous sheath for the poles to go through, but perhaps that’s just a limitation of the manufacturing process.

It’s super annoying to have to fish the pole through the second half of the sheaths they go through. — The rain fly metal rings (for lack of a better word) on the black ground poles are not well-designed and two of them came out during the first set-up.

Not a huge deal, and I found a way to replace them with actual metal rings (keychain rings) for a more reliable anchor for the rain fly hooks. Despite my critiques (being overly critical in hopes it helps tweak future models), I still need to give this tent 5 stars because it is just incredible, especially for the money I paid (and THANK YOU for offering a military/veteran discount, Core!) Now this tent is clearly designed for a very specific use – big family, longer duration trips, etc.

– so consider this before buying, but if you are anything like us, you’ll find that the weight and the extra setup time is 100% worth the benefits gained from a large, high-celine cabin with front porch that keeps the dirt, rain, and bugs out of the main cabin.

This was my first time purchasing a Core tent after years of using the other C brand. I set it up for the first time pretty easy to understand. I was concerned with how tight and difficult it was to insert the pins into the poles.

I am hopeful that the next time will be easier. The tent is HUGE with plenty of room for my family. I am tall and really appreciate being able to stand up straight in the entire tent. I am excited about the amount of ventilation ability with this tent during the hot summer months.

The biggest issue I have is that there are already small holes at the top of the ten cross beam. A defect that I am concerned will continually get worse after each trip. Core customer service started out great with communication.

However, it has been over a week after I have reached out to them about the holes and it has been radio silence. I am still hopeful.

I only have 4 people in my family but wanted a tent that would grow with us (and our stuff). Some of the things I was looking for during my research were: screened in porch with a sealed bottom, large interior space to fit 4 comfortably, random perks like hanging pockets/pouches, an electricity flap for plugging things in, easy setup, and affordability.

I think this tent crossed those things off! While I wouldn’t think you’d actually want to fit 11 people in here, you probably could, though it would be a tight squeeze. For our maiden voyage, we only had one queen-sized air mattress and had at least 2-3 feet of space on either side (even more in front).

The front porch area is spacious enough to store gear or have a couple camping chairs and small table. There is a lot of ventilation and even with the rain fly on, it felt like we had decent air flow.

I can also attest to how it handles water, after personally experiencing getting caught in a multi-hour thunderstorm. For the first 30 minutes, there was no rain fly and plenty of rain, both in and out of the tent.

After getting the rain fly on, the rain stayed out for the rest of the night. This did result in us having to tear down and hang the tent out to dry, but I can now attest that it dried out fully in the sun and was able to be set up again later that day without any problem.

Set up and tear down were both relatively easy. Set up is easier with 2 people but could possibly be done with 1. Tear down is doable with 1 person as well. Fitting it back into the bag takes some trial and error, but again, doable.

The ability to stand in both sections is really quite nice. The only “downside” is that the tent is big and heavy, though you can’t really expect anything different for an 11 person tent. You probably would not want to take this backpacking unless your hike was very short.

Overall, highly recommend and can’t wait to camp again.

My first use of this tent was a three day beach camping trip at Assateague Island, MD. Setup was quite easy and did it by myself. It rained fairly steady the first day and night. It held up really well.

There were a couple ounces of water puddled at the door, but I think that was from entering and exiting the tent. The door opens into the tent so water tends to drain onto the floor of the tent. The problem I had with this tent is the rainfly.

It did an excellent job blocking the rain. It did a poor job blocking the wind. The wind, tends to swoop underneath the rainfly and into the top of the tent which is all mesh. Had it not been for that, I would have given this tent 5 stars.

This would probably make a very good tent in a warmer environment or low wind environment. By the way, I was able to substantially reduce the amount of wind coming into the tent by placing a tarp over the tent that extended below the rainfly.

I will continue to use this tent, but I will be figuring out how to close off most of the mesh in the roof. Or maybe the manufacturer can figure that out.

This is a very nice and spacious tent. It sets up in just a few minutes and is just as easy to take down once you learn how to fold the material towards the center. It kind of opens and closes like an umbrella, but fits easily into the bag once you get the hang of it.

We did it with two people which makes it easier but I think it could be done with one as well. We have a queen size Aerobed which fits easily in this tent with plenty of room for extra glamping as we also carry a propane heater, solar generator and laptop with external speakers for watching movies and shows.

It rained pretty hard on us the first night as well as snow and hail. The tent did not leak at all. What I did not like and why I gave this tent only three stars is the front door of the tent (there are two, the others on the side) when unzipping sort of hits a point in the upper left corner where the tension of the pole makes it a little rough to unzip in that spot.

The way the tent is designed with the straighter walls I guess it cannot be helped. Also on our second night the zipper on said door got stuck on the tent flap material and required pliers to pull the zipper through.

I had to run the zipper over that spot a few times to get the tines lined up and working again although for a moment I was thinking this thing is going back for a refund. The side door came in very handy for getting our dog (70 lbs) into her crate at night, so the second side door came in very handy.

The other thing I found out when folding up the tent was the thin material of the flooring. Though we checked for sticks and rocks I guess we did not find them all and the bottom of the tent had an area where a rock had rubbed almost all of the way through the bottom of the tent, very disappointing.

I fixed the abrasion with some Gear Tape and am willing to live with it as a lot of our equipment and camp clothing has patches from tears and embers. I would prefer a stronger layer of material for the floor of the tent but also realize that would increase weight and cost.

So for now we are happy with the tent at this price point and the ease of set up and take down. We leave again for three days starting tomorrow so I may change my rating and review after that. I think we will be satisfied with this tent as long as zippers getting stuck in the tent material is not a recurring problem.

2021 – I’m on my 5th tent purchase and review! This is the Best Tent so far! I’m at a stage where the kids are grown and I want a smaller tent I can put up myself and stand up in. I’ve bought Colem_n tents for decades, but their current products are cheaply made and the designs aren’t great! I tried a C_re tent, which was a great design, but rainfly fabric was see-through thin.

No way it’s keeping rain out! This Members Mark is my 5th tent! I am In Like-Like with it!!! It was easy for 2 people to set up (I had my daughter help me on the 1st set up), and think I can do it myself next time.

It goes up in a few minutes! The fabric feels like tent canvas on the outside, lightly rubbery coated on the inside. The rainfly doesn’t touch the tent! Windows on three sides plus the roof zips open for ventilation or closed for black out – all with screening.

The ceiling design is awesome!!! If you unzip the windows, instead of tying the flaps, there are pouches to tuck the rolled flaps into. Hard to explain, but a Great design! The only design flaw is the door’s 2 zipper design.

One zipper goes across the bottom left to right, and another zipper goes from top left to bottom right along the curve. I like to zip my tent up at the top to guarantee no unwanted critters can get in.

Plus, I lock my tent with little luggage locks and that’s easier done at eye level. This tent has So Many Great Features It’s a keeper! The description says this tent is 68″ tall, but it’s taller than that.

My daughter is 5’7″ and based on how much room was above her head I’d say it’s closer to 6′ at it tallest on the inside. The tent has an upside-down V shape, like a house, so the tallest height runs across the tent (unlike dome tents that are their tallest height only in the center).

The rainfly is another 3″ above that.

With the weather starting to warm up my husband and I thought it would be the perfect time to take our daughters on their first camping trip. I’m far from an outdoor professional, but this tent makes me feel empowered.

Being a 12 person tent it is pretty heavy, but it comes in a convenient carrying tote. All the polls/support beams are easily compacted for easy storage, while also easily assembled buy laying it out straight allowing the rods to stretch into place.

The directions are attached to the inside of the carrying case which is helpful having it all together, but also a little difficult to hold, although you can choose to cut it out if you like. Each rod is color coded to match the coordinating elbow on the tent.

The tent is absolutely massive! Although I struggled in a few areas when assembling, it can easily be done by one person although the more the merrier! The anchors that go in the ground tend to bend really easy when placed in the ground, but they still hold it in place even during the windiest days.

Once inside you can choose to keep it covered or open the lining to allow better airflow and light. The tent provides plenty of room for sleeping, eating, hanging out or even having kids play inside safely.

The storage pockets on the backs allow for extra handy access to your items without worrying about stepping on them. My daughters love this tent so much we put it up in our backyard and play inside especially when the cousins come over.

It’s like their own personal hang out spot! Take down is quick and easy and takes a fraction of the time vs assembling. Overall if you’re looking for a tent to camp or even bond as a family look no further then this SUNLODGE 12 person tent! Get outside and make some memories!.

We are having troubles keeping the tent upright, without the faintly. The corner of the tent facing any light breeze whatsoever falls in. That’s because nothing supports the legs connected to the fiberglass cross-beams from swawing left or right and falling in.

If you put the rainfly on, secure it to the tent poles and anchor it using the guide lines, it stays up fine. That defeats the purpose of a mesh roof to stargaze. The only solution I thought to try was to run guidelines somehow from the actual tent poles themselves and anchor them in two directions on each corner, tompreventnit from swaying left or right and collapsing.

I have used Coleman products all my life and never seemed to have a simple problem like this with any other Coleman products. Am I doing something wrong? Please help!.

When I say I liked this tent, I really did. It was spacious enough for five people and gear and it kept us dry for four years of moderate camping (2-3 times a year). On the fifth year I had To waterproof it but the seams were failing, as ants were getting in, so we decided to pitch it , no pun intended.

Because of this tent I only planned to go with Coleman when replacing it as I was happy with most of its features. I wish the springy door actually worked – we omitted the poles every time and just zipped up a loose fabric door because otherwise the tension was too hard on it.

I wasn’t a fan of the door height from the ground and its center placement, it made it hard for little ones and shorter adults to step in and out of the tent and it could be awkward if we arranged the bedding near the entrance.

I also wish it had a divider but I always made one out of a sheet, a clothesline and clothespins. I hope our next tent checks all the boxes since we know what we’re looking for now, but this one, even with my complaints, was pretty good as it goes.

Very simple setup but you definitely need two people, as with most tents. The screened in front porch area is great for camping in areas with lots of bugs or mosquitos. I would say this is a fantastic tent for an entry level camper or someone that goes maybe twice a year.

We went camping during pretty heavy winds and rains and the wind snapped the poles for the tent which is why I Gave it a 3 star review. If you’re looking for a nice basic, large tent this is great!.

Just got back from our first trip with this tent. One night, car camping. We’re two young, moderately experienced campers/backpackers. This was the first tent we’ve bought (others have always been borrowed).

Overall, the tent worked out great for this trip. It took all of 5ish minutes to set up. There’s only a single pole, which is convenient. Easy to mix up the rotation of the pole, but that’s a non-issue.

Typical pole clips, nothing fancy or easily breakable. The rainfly has two vents at the top, which while we preferred them closed this trip could be convenient if it was humid in the tent. There is an abundance of head space inside, especially for me (6’1″).

With some gear inside and two sleeping pads, the floor space was starting to get a little tight and would probably be tighter if we had had our backpacks. I’m not sure we realized this when we bought, but the most of the tent is mesh.

It was ~35F and dry when we were out and not much heat stayed in the tent. I’m really looking forward to taking this out in the summer without the rainfly though for some night sky viewing. Not much in the way of little pockets or pouches for organization inside the tent.

Guylines included and seem standard too. We staked out the rainfly and that was easy, the stakes seem a little fragile though. We had it packed up in 10 minutes which was great. The tent material seems somewhat durable, and it’s nice that the footprint comes attached to the tent bottom so there’s one less thing to coordinate when setting up and tearing down.

Overall, I think this’ll be a good warm-ish weather tent for just a couple typical campers. Packed up, it is a little on a bulky/heavy side, so I’m a little hesitant about how it will feel when backpacking.

It’s also a pretty large tent, which might make it slightly tougher to find a good spot for it when out on the trail. The blue is a lot more vibrant in person, which we actually like more than the gray blue pictured.

I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a 2 person tent with a great length and height, really quick setup/tear down, and something to take car camping or on not very technical backpacking trips.

Our first camping trip after 25 years of marriage, the forecast sunny and bright with cool late summer weather we set off with hope in our hearts and a cooler full of ice, drinks and hotdogs. This tent set up easy and fast (within minutes)! However, we did run the poles through the lower loops instead of just the main guide tubes which added some time and hassle – turns out, the little gray and orange clips are all that’s used so save yourself from our mistake and inevitable suffering.

don’t run them through those little loops that hold the clips, just use the clips – you’ve been warned. We put on the rain tarp more for privacy than rain protection since we had clear skies and a pleasant forecast.

We did set a 10×12 tarp under the tent to give us a little room in front of either door to take off shoes; that worked perfectly. The tent is roomy, we set up two 4” air-up mattresses and had plenty of space between them to maneuver in/out of the tent.

It says for 4 people but two adults was better. I pity the fool who tries to fit 4 adults in there – y’all better like each other a lot. We had room to spare for our suitcases and clothes and some miscellaneous items.

There is a clip for a lantern in the center of the roof and held our small battery-powered lantern just fine. The zippers all zipped like zippers should, though you can stake down the tent too tightly and make it difficult to zip up the door so don’t over stretch it when staking it down.

The triangle windows let a nice cross-breeze gently engulf us with cool air. The large screen roof and generous openings on the doors would be perfect for those wonderfully star filled nights where privacy or weather wasn’t a concern.

With so much ventilation the air inside it never got stuffy. During an adventurous day hike, my wife noticed the leaves were upside down and claimed it meant rain was coming. Pfft! I said. The forecast was perfect, no rain.

She was adamant and I said we’ll see but if it does I intend to beat you in (the card game) Gin Rummy once and for all! So hours go by and the tent sat there looking like a tent. While campfire cooking, over the delightfully powerful aroma of burning cherry wood charcoal and some random logs, we smelled something.

A hotdog you speculate? Nope. Rain. It wasn’t upon us yet but it was coming. We gathered up our stuff to put away and in just in time! A downpour unleashed itself on our tent, assaulting and battering it with ourselves inside inspecting every seam for leaks like we were QC testers for REI Corp.

UmmHmm, this corner is damp! My wife proclaimed. I checked it but it just felt cold to me, not like water was coming through. So we monitored those little triangle windows like they were under FBI surveillance for crimes unimaginable.

This time the windows didn’t do anything wrong but we’ll be watching them closely. We settled in and played rummy as the rain eased but remained steady throughout the evening. It continued steadily through the night, easing in the early morning to a light rain/sprinkle.

We and our things in the tent were all dry, the only thing damaged was my ego for continuing my 3 year rummy losing streak. The wind never picked up in any meaningful way so not sure how it’d do in the wind but it did have 8 points to keep it nailed to the ground – I feel like it’d hold up as least as good as my wife’s rummy skills.

We took down the tent during the sprinkly bits and hurriedly stuffed into the back of the jeep dripping wet and muddy while the light rain/sprinkles kept us moving faster than the wicked witch of the west from a rain cloud.

We live in an 1100sqft apartment so no yard to dry the tent. We set it up inside the living room with a blanket under it to protect the flooring. It dried out within a few hours but we left it out for 24 hours to be sure.

Upon inspection of every square millimeter our detective selves found a very small tear (2mm) in the door screen mesh, near the bottom corner. The basic tent maintenance/repair kit will take care of the tiny hole and will use it to keep the seams in ship shape after use.

We love the tent and highly recommend it.

Such an easy no fuss tent for a first time solo camper! Easy to put up and put down! Fits a double blow up mattress in with a good space at either side of the door way for all my belongings to sit. This tent held up against the crazy non stop heavy rain and wind whilst in the Lake District with no real concerning issues.

The only downside to this tent is there is no canopy at the door- so in the rain I had to have it closed ((this is my first time purchasing a tent so that’s something I’ve learned for future purchases)) but I’m going to buy a canopy/ tarp to pop over to create a shelter, so I can chill with the doors open during a downpour.

I’m super happy with my little tent though! She’s a little beastie :)).

You really can’t beat this tent for value. It’s got the feel and performance of a far more expensive tent. I’ve had quite a few tents over the years varying in price and quality so think I have good grounds for comparison.

It packs away quite flat and is very light which makes it easy to pack in the car. Once you’ve got the hang of putting it down it really makes camping easy. I mostly do 2 nights a time in it, but have done 4 nights before.

Calling it a 3 man is a bit hopeful. My wife and 6 year old daughter stayed in it with me one time but it was a squeeze, and we were touching the inner tent with no real room to put any stuff. I tend to use it on my own and sleep diagonally (I’m 5 foot 10).

It gives me plenty of room to put my kit without it, or me, touching the sides. Wind, rain – it stays dry and upright even in some pretty persistent heavy weather. Only issue is when the tent is wet/raining you get dripped on when you open the door and the wet door has a tendency to fall inside due to the angle it’s at.

No porch so muddy boots tend to be removed whilst sat just inside the door with legs outside. You then need somewhere to put them, so more reason not to have 3 people in it. I don’t need to replace it as there is nothing wrong with it at all even after considerable use, but if I do it will only be for one of the newer models with more features like a porch and overhang above the door.

This tent was water proof during some pretty intense rain, it also acted as a great shield from my lovely but clumsy mates who kept falling on top of it. It also looked great compared to some of the whoppers people tried to pass of as a tent, they where mystified by my tents quality by the time Judas Priest hit the main stage.

Life was just better in this tent and I sit in my house now craving a simpler time.

This tent was okay, first let me start with the positives, 4 rooms I mean HELLO SPACE! It was nice having rooms on each corner and a central space in the middle. We used this one in our backyard and it did fine.

Set up was okay (about 20 min in the dark). We did however end up returning this for a 3 room instant tent and here is why: for starters the 4 rooms seemed small, with a queen size bed it pretty much didn’t allow any walking space.

We had two blow up air mattress in the second space that spilled out into the center of the tent and the privacy dividers on each room seemed pointless as we couldn’t walk around the bed. Our son was comfortable with a twin blow up mattress and had tons of room in his section.

Also, we were able to put a 6ft table in the middle with chairs! So that was really nice but the “4th room” is really just a entryway so we used it more as a mud room. I am 6ft 1 and my husband is 6ft 6 and he felt very cramped and kept hitting his head, but I was comfortable and felt fine walking the space.

We returned this one and bought a 3 room Ozark instant tent which was better for our family of 6 space wise. Still a good tent just not for us.

This is my 4th Ozark Trail 14-person 4-room with 4 entrances TENT. I keep them up 24/7, 365 days per year, and they always last 9-months or more-that’s over a hundred camping days in sun, rain, and snow, until mine finally die from daily sun rot, pole break, or whatever.

Since I leave it up year-round, I sometimes lay a tarp over it, so it’s protected from the sun rot; slows the aging of the nylon down. So if you are going to camp out in your huge backyard any old time you want, like I do with my grandkids and dogs, (I have privacy fences, and a lot of room), or if you just put it up a dozen camping trips per year, and pack it away for the next summer, this is your baby!! You won’t be sorry, I promise.

It has a bathtub floor, and the walls don’t leak from even 4 or 5 sequential HEAVY days of rain! I have never treated mine with rain stuff. (I love, love, love to sit in there and read, with the pounding rain coming down all around me, all warm and cozy.

) In my room, I have 1 queen inflatable mattress-(I’m going to switch to a full because it’s just me, and a full size would give me some more space. ) In each of the next 2 rooms, I have 1 army cot with plenty of room to spare, with walking room, and a 3-shelf canvas camping end table, and storage under the cots, etc.

; in the middle room, I have a big easy chair, a small table, a twin inflatable mattress that flips closed, after you wake up, and converts into a comfy chair. All rooms have 2 windows that zip closed, an inside privacy door that zips closed, as well, All 4 rooms have their own doors that lead to the outside! I use the one ‘room’ for the entranceway with just chairs on each side.

And of course I have tons of camp lights, camp fans, sheets, pillows, blankets, games, books, a 100-foot extension cord that has it’s own slot to come into the tent. Plenty of comfort camping, here!.

I am writing this review while it is raining pretty hard out. Where my family is staying we are in the yellow and red spots on the radar of this rain storm. The tent did leak after about 2 hours of this abuse but the leaks were minor in comparison to how bad I thought they would be by some of the negative reviews I read on here.

The tent material is completely saturated but the water that did make it in pooled in the corners by the doors or came in from the seams where the room dividers are connected. My wife did mention the occasional drop that would come down from the rain fly but as I said this tent withstood a lot of rain abuse tonight.

Check the weather before you go camping if its going to rain make some adjustments (buy products to weatherproof the tent, hang up tarps at the campsite, etc. ) and you will be fine. The tent is smaller than I imagined but still a big tent and 2 people set it up easy enough.

The room dividers were great each kid had his own room. The common area is big enough to entertain the family. Would definitely recommend this tent. We will be buying something to seal the seams better but I am happy with how this tent performed in the rain.
