20 Best Cheap Projector Under $50 (2023 Updated)

The image glichted constantly. I sent it back. i didn’t pay $100 for a defective unit. the image glitched in a wave like form from top to bottom and made it very annoying to watch. other than that, it was fine.

but i eneded up ordering a better one with wifi for $120.

For a “cheap” projector, this is everything I need. I use it to watch sports on the wall in my garage and couldn’t be more happy with the purchase.

I love the Au King! Picture is great and came really fast! Easy to use and portable!

I had high hopes for this little projector after reading other reviews but was left rather disappointed. The image quality is good. Works in the daytime with the ceiling lights on (with curtains closed) in the room and connects easily to bluetooth headphones.

But they are the only good points. The projector is loud. Even turning the sound up halfway does not cover the white noise static that it produces. Ended up using headphones instead. The laser was not lined up straight so I had to wedge a little cardboard under one side to level it out.

The built in apps also didn’t work. They just crash when you open them. Ended up connecting an Apple TV to it. But the worse thing is the battery. Description says it lasts up to 4 hours in projector mode.

The best I got was 1 hour 23 minutes. That was with the sound really low too. Only lasted 48 minutes when I had my headphones connected. The battery will also drain whilst it’s plugged into the power point.

Ended up returning it after 4 days.

Absolutely love the size being so compact and the case is a good investment as well. Great sound and video. Projected it on a roll up blind from Bunnings in out camper and was perfect. A little annoying having to use phone to control Netflix but otherwise seamless experience.

Took a little while to get my iphone showing as the network connection and pair it but got it right after about a bit of fiddling around. Can’t wait to try it outside on an even bigger screen. Only taking off one star because unable to use the included remote for Netflix, otherwise perfect for what I needed.

Nice and compact! Battery life ok all things considered (size) Packaging very nice The android version – unfortunately for NZ there is no apps like TVNZ / NEON etc and you can’t mirror cast these due to copyright.

Disney plus / plex work good. Netflix has an issue where it is downscaling to 240p or similar as the quality looks really bad! If you download to the device however it goes to the correct 480p quality.

You also HAVE to have a stand or something for it as you will never get it level or in the correct place you want – the keystone correction is auto but extremely limited Quality is very average but it’s OK for the price/size in fairness, sadly the brightness is very low and speaker is ok in quiet areas.

NZ hasn’t got access to the revised model which is a shame, but this would be more expensive anyways (720p) and less battery. The supplied remote and nz charger doesn’t fit properly in the case either.

Just recieved today. Paid for express shipping with insurance due to cost and came within 7 working days. We had constant updates throughout this whilst I read reviews shipping is not good with this company this was not my experience.

Shipped with DPex and landed in Botany NSW yesterday and received today via Toll. They also shipped it with an travel adapter so was good that we didnt need to get anything else to connect as it was a different power plug.

Easy setup , did connect to wifi before connecting to phone as this was the best way. Netflix work around online with a YouTube video to follow easily. App is good to use as well. Quality of screen and sound is great and looking forward to using this.

I was looking for a projector that would be great for watching movies and showing presentations. The Fangor 1080p projector is just what I needed. The picture quality is better than I expected and the Bluetooth capability makes it easy for me to use while still keeping the space neat and organized.

I’m very satisfied with my purchase.

This is a pretty good projector for the price. It really is wireless and rechargeable. It’s nice that you can move it around and not have to worry about a plug. the screen is also a good size & it can be adjusted.

I will be keeping it.

When I received this, the programmed user interface was quite old by several years. A Kodak website, however, showed how to update the firmware to 2021 levels. Very good image quality for its wide 480p resolution, and it can handle Powerpoint type slides (which are blurry with many of the $150-$300 AC powered projectors).

The brightness is good enough for darkened room. The Miracast feature, however, does not seem to perform well.

If you want to stream Disney + u must use an external device because there is no compatible version of the app for this device. This creates a problem if your wanting to run audio via a Bluetooth speaker.

All other major streaming platforms work for the most part. Other than this issue it works like a charm especially when connecting audio through a Bluetooth speaker for a theater like experience.

I bought this last year and I couldn’t make a better buy than this. I used it in my office wall and the images are sharp. I download the Disney channel, Amazon Prime and its amazing that I can watch my favorite programs anywhere and at various sizes even on the ceiling.

I highly recommend this projector the only thing I would of love if it would of come with a travel case.

Overall really great projector. Able to watch during the day and still have a decent and visible picture. We have hung this projector on ceiling mount. Initially worried it was a little too heavy but seems to be doing fine.

Good ability to adjust picture. Audio out connected to our speaker system. Using with fire stick without issues. My only complaint is that – for certain shows – the colors show up too dark. Not a huge deal.

Just have to select a mode where the colors are a little more washed out. Maybe we are not adjusting the contrast, light, etc correctly though? If anyone has pointers on this I’d love to hear them. This is the only reason I’m giving this projector 4 stars.

Otherwise very satisfied and MUCH better than our previous projector.

This is the worst purchase I’ve ever made. I’m beyond disappointed and have no clue how this got such great reviews. Maybe, I got unlucky, but I’m about to send the replacement one I received for the first one being bad back too.

Pros – Portable. Throws enough light. Cons – unwatchable picture. Fiddle with the focus as much as you like and it just doesn’t get better. – The sounds is tinny. Nowhere near as good as even a JBL Flip – The remote is largely useless.

You can only use to it navigate within the Nebula menus. Once you’re in a streaming service, you need to use the Nebula Controller app. – It is very incompatible with Apple. Screen mirroring wasn’t working, the controller app is super buggy.

While you receive HDMI cables with it, who really wants to plug into Apple TV or other? -Replacement Bluetooth is not working, so can’t actually pair to use the controller. Literally, can’t use the unit.

Buyer beware, this is a crappy waste of money. I want something that works.

Firmware issues and issues with charging while running. Better to get a $400 tv that works than a projector that doesn’t work and has limited app functions (such as having only Hulu Japan or two different versions of YouTube that work poorly) if you don’t intend on jailbreaking it or sending it back after a month of use it’s better to buy something else.

The display looks pretty good though outside of that so high risk high reward I guess. Also the battery doesn’t last more than a couple of hours so maybe just get a flat screen they’re all smart and cheap now anyways.

Pros: For the few apps available on the product such as amazon, Netflix and BBC I player its great for streaming. Its lightweight and small. Cons: I cant use mirroring to my phone because of something to do with chromecast not being compatible.

I can’t download apps such as itv hub, bt sport, now TV to the projector. I can use hdmi to stream through my laptop to the projector but the image quality suffers with a time lag and jittery image. A bit disappointed really, I’d hoped this would do a lot more for the money spent.

Bought instead of a tv for the bedroom, the quality is fantastic and the sound is so great we haven’t needed to connect speakers. It’s controlled via remote or through an app on my phone and once connected to wifi you can stream YouTube Netflix etc so easily.

We’ve even used it in the garden and without power it lasted for 3 hours. We chose this one after speaking to an expert online and I’m very pleased with the product we received. It fits onto my camera tripod perfectly but is so small it could be stood on a shelf or table.

This was very easy to set up with the Quick Start guide. The Apple app was easy to understand and I assume the Android one would be just as easy. All cords were included and the projector has a good appearance and does not look cheap or flimsy.

The lens cover has the detail of an extra tab to help it be removed and replaced. I was immediately able to airplay and screen mirror from my phone. I have been using this as the Welcome Community Center.

Since Yankyo is a good brand with a good warranty I was pretty confident in my purchase. We will be using it there primarily to put English lessons (from You Tube) on a large screen and also things for special religious services and cultural videos.

Versus a large, much more expensive flat screen TV, this has the added benefit of taking it outside with a large screen for outdoor summer movies with a bit of social distancing. I’m pleased with the display quality.

It supports a usb disk (2 slots), AV and HDMI connections too. I only tested the Bluetooth and WiFi. I was able to easily change the settings on the display, as all the options were intuitive. I did not use the sleep timer function.

At this price point, I can definitely recommend this projector.

This WiFi projector is well designed to connect to a mobile phone with ‘Airplay’ and ‘Screen Mirroring’. When you use Airplay to project a video of your mobile app, you can play it freely on your phone.

Last year I reviewed a projector that ended up providing significant entertainment value for my family, but in general, I find projectors to be a sort of “one trick pony:” they require very specific lighting conditions (in most cases), as well as a particular type and quality of surface for projecting in a way that provides sharp images.

And, there are usually logistical and connectivity requirements that are more annoying than anything else…where do you run the wires, where do you mount the projector, keystone adjustments, etc etc. All that said, mobile projectors are nothing new to me.

I’ve always loved the idea of a pocket-sized projector that you can take from business meeting to business meeting, provided you actually need that sort of presentation capability…for most, a 2-in-1 laptop is enough to share information over a more informal meeting.

And, for many in the business space, presentations are planned activities that normally have known environments associated with them…not the sort of “ad hoc” situations that a mobile projector might call for.

The SYNCQ M189 seems to be a balance of two projector extremes, between the media-centered home projector and the ultra-mobile pocket projector. It is a fully mobile solution, with an onboard 3 hour battery and built in speaker, but also puts out a fair amount of brightness (200 nits); the speaker is nothing to write home about, but it gets the job done for small settings.

The projector puts out a maximum image of 80 inches on the diagonal at a max resolution of 720p, which is great for such a small device that has its own power source. The device is entirely matte black, which shows a fair amount of fingerprints.

It has a single focus wheel on one side for manual focus, a kickstand on the bottom for elevated viewing, and sports an auto-keystone function which does a decent job automatically adjusting the projected image based upon the angle of the projector and the distance to the projected screen.

This auto-keystone function is by no means perfect and may be “good enough” for some, however, for more particular users I think they should offer an app or advanced settings to manually adjust the keystone (among other settings) as well.

Also nice is the connection area, which has space for your favorite streaming stick, as well as a USB port for powering that device. This area of the device can be fully enclosed with a And, provided you have network connectivity and the appropriate controlling device, you can take your media experience virtually anywhere.

For business users, a Chromecast and a laptop with a Chrome Browser (or, if you want to pay a premium, a Pixelbook Go from Google) gets you full functionality with that Chromecast and the projector. For personal use, connecting everything and pointing this at the ceiling is a great way to watch movies in bed (provided you don’t have a textured ceiling).

The fan doesn’t get too loud to get in the way of the media, but if it does, there is an audio jack if you want to connect headphones or an external speaker for a better experience. At the end of the day, this is a very niche product and for many would be more of a luxury than a necessity, and at $350 it’s not a cheap piece of technology to add to your collection.

Still, the quality of the product and packaging is such that it is a solid purchase provided it meets that very specific use case for you. In terms of performance, aside from only putting out 200 nits and still requiring some basic control on lighting conditions, there’s plenty being done well here by a company that I hadn’t previously heard of.

love it. After about a year, it just would not come on. Called the company and they sent me a new cord which fixed the problem. They would have replaced it if needed. It holds a good charge, We have used it for camping and watched movies on the side of our tent.

Use it in the backyard and watch movies on the fence. Use it in my bedroom and basement. It is portable and user friendly for 40+ year old moms. Only has 3 buttons. It’s good to have a camera tripod to get perfect angles.

I have really enjoyed using this projector. It is bright, sharp, has Android TV, is compact & portable, and just fun to use. I have used this for a couple of weeks, and have some thoughts. I was able to get a 10% coupon by signing up for XGIMI’s mailing list, and for $500, this is a great buy.

The Pros: -The MoGo Pro is very small and portable without compromising on image quality. The battery life is also decent. -The automatic focus is really nice to have and saves me time and sanity. You can also manually focus the projector with a switch on the bottom of the remote.

-The projected image looks great, is pretty bright, and can go up to around 110″ before the brightness starts to drop off. (This is with the power cable connected) -It has a tripod mount on the bottom, which allows me to throw this on either a Mini Tripod (I used the Manfrotto Pixi: https://tinyurl.

com/ManfrottoMini) or a full-size tripod. This was almost a necessity for me. -While I prefer Roku, the Android TV interface has pretty much everything that you will need. I really enjoyed using the Plex app with my own content.

-The remote is light, easy to use, and feels good in the hand. -It has an audio out jack if you want to hook it up to a home theater system, an external speaker, or some headphones with no noticeable lag.

-The projector has Bluetooth, and I was able to connect my Bluetooth headphones, a Bluetooth speaker, and even a Bluetooth keyboard. -I was able to load music and videos on a thumb drive, plug it into the USB port, and play it on the projector.

-The projector came in a double-layered package with Silica Gel and high-quality foam. It should make it to you in one piece. The “Okays”: -The sound quality and volume of the built-in speaker is pretty good, but if there will be much background noise, or the sound needs to travel a long distance, I would recommend connecting an external speaker.

-It didn’t include batteries for the remote, so make sure that you have a couple of AAA’s lying around. -On this projector, a 100″ image is produced from 8-9 feet away. The Cons: -The battery life of the projector could be better.

I was able to watch a movie on it just fine, but it didn’t have much extra. -The screen brightness drops a bit when on battery power. If you are projecting less than a 100″ screen, you will be fine, but if you plan to go bigger than 90″, you may want to use the power cord.

When I was researching projectors, I had some findings that I wanted to share with you. These are not all specific to the MoGo Pro. -First of all, projector brightness marketing is a lie. The XGIMI MoGo Pro advertises 300 ANSI Lumens of brightness.

I have a friend who got a projector that claimed 5500 Lumens of brightness. While you would think that my friends’ projector would be 18 times brighter than mine, it’s really not. And from what I have read, this is not an isolated case.

Don’t bother with the manufacturers’ brightness numbers. If you want to see how bright a projector is, read the reviews. -Second, unless you plan on projecting on the side of your light-colored house, any projection size over 150″ is basically pointless.

I understand that a 300″ screen sounds cool, but trust me, 98% of you don’t need your projection to be that big, and will never use it that big. I’m not saying to not buy a projector that can go that big.

I am saying to not buy a projector JUST because it can go that big. -Third, don’t forget that screen size is measured diagonally. If you need to convert hight & width to diagonal (or vice-versa), I would recommend this calculator: http://www.

screen-size. info/ -Fourth, don’t forget the input. For the MoGo Pro, it has Android TV built-in, which will cover most of your needs, including YouTube, and all of the major streaming services that I know of.

However, other projectors may not have Android TV, and before you buy, make sure that you also know how you will get a video to it. The worst thing is to get your shiny new projector and realize that you forgot to buy an HDMI Cable.

-Fifth, some projectors may be able to go to big sizes, but the projector will have to be so far away from the screen that it is impossible indoors. Make sure the projector you choose can go to the screen size you want, at a distance that will work with your living space.

-Sixth, if you have a light-colored wall, you probably don’t need a screen, If you are considering a screen, hold a white sheet of paper up to the wall and compare how the projector on the paper looks to how the wall looks.

That will give you a general idea of how much a screen will help.

After a lot of research I finally pulled the trigger on XGimi Mogo Pro. I actually compared three highly rated portable projectors hands-on before finalizing on this champ. I ordered XGimi Mogo Pro, Nebula Capsule 2 and Nebula Solar Portable.

For its size and 1080P resolution it is no brainer againts Nebula line up. If Nebula Capsule II was 1080P, I would keep Capsule II over XGimi Mogo Pro. Nebula Solar Portable is bulky compared to other two so that is out.

Other toughts: USB-C is missing. Addition of case would have been great!.

I got this projector 3 months ago and I’m 75% satisfied- please read below to learn more. CONS: -The Projector is not fluid and takes time to load applications and the home page. For 500$ I would expect a much better performance.

I’m running on a 100MB/s connection and my Nebula Solar is blazing fast for the similar actions. I’m hoping XGMI will resolve the performance issue with its next release. -The battery does not hold charge as advertised.

Also when I received the projector the battery was completely discharged which is really bad for the battery storage life. -The Harmon Kardon speaker is over advertised. In reality the sound quality is just normal compared to other projector.

If you’re looking for better sound the Mi Smart Compact Projector is better, but don’t go buy it just yet and finish reading this review first. PROS: -The Keystone adjustment & Zoom features were a must for me since I live in a New York rail way apartment and my living room is weirdly shaped requiring me to set the projector at an angle and about 7 feet from the wall -The image quality is amazing considering the size of the projector.

It is bright and crisp. -It was definitely the best option for my needs out of all the comparable products I tested Nebular Solar & Mi Smart Compact Projector -It’s compact and looks freaking amazing! -It has Android TV and Bluetooth to connect to external speakers -Despite being Very slow, (sad!!!) the projector is user friendly and bug free.

You know the XGIMI team put a lot of time at testing their product. Comparing Nebular Solar the software quality is better even though they both run on Android TV. (Netflix interface is better, Nebula gets in a error state after you turn it off, auto focus on Mogo is just better, keystone adjustment capability is better on Mogo, etc.

) For my needs stated above the Mogo Pro was a no brainer even if I’m not 100% satisfied. Comparable products: -The Mi Smart Compact Projector was a good step above the Mogo pro from a sound (speaker) quality, image quality and brightness.

However it did not offer Zoom and Horizontal keystone adjustment. Also it didn’t include a battery which the Mogo Pro has (not that I care, but could be useful one day if it doesn’t go bad before I need it).

-The Nebula Solar performance is much better than the Mogo Pro, but that is it. (See above for comparaison) I kept it since I ended up getting it for free.

IšverstiShow in original languageI was looking for a projector for our backyard, and as I was thinking about, I also thought about indoor use. I didn’t want to go cheap and buy a $200 – 300 projector and then have regrets about picture quality, contrast, color, etc.

I really didn’t have a need to go beyond 1080P for the main purpose for outdoor theatre. I did my homework as always, wanting the best bang for the buck. This projector along with the BenQ 2050A kept coming up.

I was pretty sure I could use the short throw feature of this projector over the 2050A, so now after about a month of use, I can say that it was worth the money. I am glad for the short throw, since my media room is small and when I’m outside I project from the rear and love that I don’t need a lot of space behind the screen.

The color is phenomenal. The picture clarity is excellent. Good contrast. So good I don’t hesitate using it indoors, just not as sharp or bright as my Samsung Q65, but love that big 100 inch picture.

Still a wonderful picture! We watch movies only at night outdoor, and in the dark media room. Everyone is very impressed when we are watching something on the big screen. Sound not impressive, but I was never going to go there, but if you were to compare projector speakers, it’s good.

I use a surround system indoor, and 2 outdoor patio speakers for the backyard. 120 inch screen for outside. No regrets, just enjoyment.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve been using this for well over a year now. Great picture for 1080P. Blacks are pretty deep. I’ve thought about moving to a 4K but there isn’t enough content to make it worth while.

If you’re used to the beautiful picture of an LED or OLED you’re not going to have that quality of picture but for myself I wanted bigger! And movies and shows look great. If you’re getting into the projector world for the first time, I can’t say this enough, pay for a top quality screen!!! It’s worth it.

I tried my wall first, then I bought a cheap screen, then I finally bit the bullet and bought a 120″ Silver Ticket white screen. Made all the difference in the world. I love watching movies and gaming on my set up.

Also, get a good sound system and you’ll be all set. This is a great projector and I’m very hsppy.

Clear, bright picture. Like crazy bright. With our old projector, we used to have to completely block out all light to use it. Not the case with this one, we can even watch in the daytime with the blinds open.

The sound quality from the speakers is pretty decent for gaming or for watching TV/movies. Have yet to use it outside, but it seems like it will be great for back yard movies.

Great projector worth every penny. At first i was looking to by the samsung freestyle but seeing all the negative reviews i decided to give the benq a try. The video quality, audio, and the overall portability makes this item a must buy if you are looking for a reasonably priced projector.

Only downside to this projector is that you cannot get netflix but the app store has everything else you could possibly imagine.

This is an amazing projector!! We can have it out by the pool with no dangerous cords to hurt the littles and the picture is spectacular! We use the house wall as a backdrop and it’s like being at the theater.

The sound is also impressive, no need for a soundbar! Highly recommend!.

Expect nothing less from BenQ – clear projection, smooth menu navigation and easy set up. Unfortunately, missing horizontal keystone adjustment.

Great value projector, features native support for 4k @ 60hz inputs (will NOT play 4k videos on its own, only displays 4k from the HDMI inputs. which is fine for 90% use cases just something to be aware of).

The use of an LED lamp as opposed to a more conventional projection lamp means the unit won’t get that hot and you’ll get a bright, properly white balanced image on pretty much any surface, whether it was intended to be used as a screen or not; I’ve used interior walls, bedsheets, the side of the house, and yes, purpose made projection screens too 😉 There’s also the fact that the projector and screen (not included) pack up small enough to easily fit in a backpack, so I could totally hop on a public bus and take my 4k home theatre to my buddy’s house if I wanted to.

Aaxa 4K1 UHD projector projects excellent image quality. Compact projector in class 4K UHD projectors. To view the video content in the curtain room ECO mode is enough economical. For daily viewing of video content is enough Standart mode.

In ECO mode, the cooling fans are almost inaudible. Only in Boost mode – the fan noise is quite strong. Great projector for your class!.

I don’t normally write reviews. But for $1000 I now have a 100-inch computer screen that’s dope as h3ll. This thing is ultra-portable and amazing. The brightness could be slightly higher, BUT I’m currently in a room with 2 bright bright lights behind me while this thing is on and it’s MORE than bearable to use.

Just shut off the lights and pull the blinds whenever you want impeccable brightness/picture quality. Zero regrets with this purchase.
