I originally bought a Phantom Gaming 4 but returned it and in the middle of shipping transit I decided to upgrade it to the ROG Strix. The main reason was the BIOS flashback feature as I had an AMD 5600X for it.
It seems it was a newer stock item so it already had the updated BIOS. I still tried the BIOS flashback feature to upgrade to the newest BIOS and liked it. Overall it’s a great motherboard. I only put 4 stars because of two things.
One it lacks an ARGB header on the top of the motherboard so all routing has to go to the bottom and daisy chain from there. Another is not really the motherboard but ASUS AURA RGB software. It kept reverting to red, which is the default color.
After a quick online search I found you have to change an XML file on the Aura folder to Read-Only as a workaround. I don’t like that I had to do that as if I want to change I want to remove the Read-Only attribute, change to the new setting, and then set again to Read-Only.
On the plus side, I liked their fan control software as it detected the fans and set the AIO pump automatically to 100%, versus the Asrock software on the Phantom Gaming 4 (I have another one on a different system which is why I initially bought another and then decided to try a different model).
However, you need to do an additional download of the AI software suite after you install the Armory Crate for the ASUS Fan control software to be available. A cool feature is the “eye” logo on the board that stays on even after you turn off the computer.
This feature lets you know if you have the Power Supply switch on or off, that is, if the motherboard is still receiving power or not. Also I noticed that as I did some troubleshooting and swapped components around my two computers, the same hardware stayed way cooler, around 10-15 degrees less on the ASUS ROG versus the Asrock Phantom.
I also liked some other nice touches that are bit more high-end on the ROG like the thermal pads and covers on the M. 2 slots, but of course the ROG is a more expensive board so you expect more high-end features.
One final comment is that the VRM covers on the top of the motherboard conflicted a bit with the screws of the 240mm AIO I installed so I had to fiddle around that. The AIO fans went into the top PWM headers so I also have very little clearance for the wires to avoid hitting the fans.
You could say this is an issue with the case height but on the Asrock this was not the case as the headers were located differently and I had the same AIO.
Great feature set with some style, but more than one thing annoyed me: RMA process was inconsistent with claiming advance RMA was available, RAM QVL was not available for Ryzen 5000 series at launch then was more limited than 3000 series, and insufficent notes on EATX12V connectors.
I would only get this mobo if you like the feature set compared to other mobos – Otherwise get something different and cheaper. Features go beyond what I need like a thunderbolt header, 2. 5 gbps Ethernet, USB 3.
2 Gen 1 header, built in I/O shroud, and the all important BIOS flashback with USB for my 5600X worked great. SATA data cables are unfortunately right behind where the main GPU goes, requiring case’s rear panel to be removed to disconnect SATA cables.
Slots 1, 3, 5 are closest to the GPU while 2, 4, 6 are one port away. I couldn’t get SATA cable to release even with thin tools. Optical audio port fits looser than any other mobo or audio device I’ve used, as easily slips out if small to moderate tension exists.
Armory Crate software has been mostly good for updating drivers & BIOS plus basic RGB/AURA effects, though one Armory Crate update for “Device Kits” failed until I did a restart. Auto OC is awesome if you have an aftermarket cooler, but resulted in Deus Ex Mankind Divided being unstable, crashing about once per hour.
RMA was the only way I could confirm whether I had a mobo or CPU issue in handling RAM. Turned out it was CPU, not this mobo.
– I got this motherboard together with AMD 5800X and DDR4 as upgrade for my old system: Asus Z-97E + Intel I5-4590 + 16Gb RAM + NVIDIA GTX 1070TI + SSD + 7200RPM SATA drive + Cooler Master G650M 650W 80+Bronze (circa 2015) Unfortunately, after I assembled everything, system would randomly reboot, mostly when watching some videos online in the browser (i.
e Netflix). After disabling ASUS performance optimizations in the BIOS the system became more stable, would reboot once every two three days. I originally attributed this to my old PSU, and ordered a new one Seasonic FOCUS PX 850.
Unfortunately, it made system even less stable. I also tried with yet another PSU – Corsair RM750, with the same result. I disassembled everything and assembled it back, and tried yet another PSU from my other home computer ( Rosewill – BRONZE Series – 1000-Watt 80+ Bronze) that one works a little better, but I am still getting about one random reboot per day.
The last one watching the new year show. Strangely enough, running CPU stress tests (stress-ng) for hours or memory tests with memtes86 does not find any errors, and doesn’t trigger reboot. So, I am going to return this motherboard.

The motherboard was shipped to me working and after a short time, my GPU wasn’t being detected and I had to rely on the integrated graphics of my 10850k. Eventually figuring out it was the PCI-e controller, resetting the CMOS helped for a boot or two before the failure came again and stayed.
Sent motherboard to Newegg and was denied due to ‘bent pins’ on the CPU socket. 2 weeks after sending it out, I got it back, looked at it and saw there was a pin broken on the socket. Put it back together and tested with it still booting and exhibiting the same issue.
I contacted ASUS and the normal lines of troubleshooting were gone through before I was told to send it. Not knowing how the pin broke, and reading ASUS’s information online, I was expecting to have to pay a fee to have the boards socket replaced, but after seeing the part on the way, it was received about 7:30 pm a few days later and a replacement was on the way the following day.
This is the 2nd time in 16 years I’ve ever had an issue with an ASUS board (that wasn’t caused by a powersupply deciding to ground out internally) and the 2nd time I was floored with ASUS’s response and care for the customer.
From a BIOS chip sent to my address to replace my bad one in 2006 to the replacement for a bad CPU socket, ASUS really does have fantastic customer service, even to the point of contacting me ‘too much’ through the process to make sure I was kept up to date on how things were going.
Less the PCI-e controller being bad, the replacement board is the same as the previous with G. Skill 4400 cl16 sticks not being able to achieve their full speed, but that’s on me for not reading from G.
Skill on what they can do with the board. 4000cl15 is achievable though!.
This came free with the purchase of an 11700K week after labor day, 2022. Tons of features and overclocking options. Updating the BIOS and setting XMP and a 5GHz all core OC was painless and fast. Make sure when downloading drivers, in order to get the actual Chipset driver, you need to expand the available downloads.
Otherwise you’ll have about 4-5 “Unknown Devices” show up in Device Manager. Probably wouldn’t have had that issue if I used the included driver disc, but I didn’t have a drive to load them. Only Con I have is that the 24-Pin ATX power connector wasn’t an easy 90 degree connector.
Dig the basic ARGB profile, which is what is driving my AIO fans, case, and GPU lighting.
My first choice was the Gigabyte Z590 Ultra Wifi mobo, Best Buy did not have it in stock at the store, so I picked the Asus Z590 Tuf Plus Gaming wifi, there is, however a cheaper version, minus the Wifi… I installed this without any problem… except that you have to update your bios immediately (in my case) because I was using my old ssd with the windows 10 installed and my app programs to avoid any complications, I was upgrading from the Z390 chipset.
Everything is running smoothly so far, I have a minor complain, Asus use to provide the q connector with their old motherboard but for some reason they did not include one with this model, not a big deal but it would simplify front panel connection very much.
Oh, it does not have a Q led for post diagnostic, so you have to rely on beep and just cross your fingers. Anyways, if you are an overclocking gamer then this is recommended, I am not, so I disabled the Enchanced Performance, it saves power and the cpu remained much cooler.
Also if you do not like the led always on. you have to turn off the Aura in the bios or in the ARMOURY Crate… otherwise it might bug you if your pc is in your bedroom and while you are sleeping your PC will be bright.
Anyways, I am content with it, until the 12th gen motherboard comes out this year.

No this is not a great value board. Not even close. But what I can say is that its robust, flawless, packed with features and you can force almost any modern AIO onto the socket. I saw many other people had various problems getting PCIe 5.
0/nvme drives/ memory working. I had exactly zero issues with this board everything worked for me out of the box with Trident Z5 6000 Mhz, Rocket4plus 2TB, a GTX 1080 and the 12900K. If you bought top shelf components then this is what you need.
I highly recommend performing the washer LGA 1700 ILM socket fix as it will net you around 5C+ lower temps on this board (tested with X63 Kraken with 12900K). You can actually feel the difference in heat transfer around the radiator after the washer fix.
I’m not liable for whatever you do to your board, but it does seem to me that the ILM washer fix was very easy to do and not that dangerous of an operation. So, if you’re on the fence and you have the screw driver with a star head and 4 washers from your AIO/case parts give it a shot.
Two downfalls to this board and one is fixable: 1) price 2) DDR5 6000 RAM and up won’t work with their specified XMP 3. 0 profiles yet They just spit out tons of memory errors in memtest. Hopefully a BIOS update will fix this in the near future.

Asus makes great products and I prefer them over other manufacturers. I do have to knock 2 stars off this MB though. One for there being an issue with the network adapter, and then another for Asus having zero information on it.
This is the 5th system I’ve built, and the 2nd one this year. There is something about the ethernet adapter on these cards. We installed windows and had no adapter showing at all in the device manager.
So after downloading all 3 drivers available on asus’ support page and putting them on a USB drive, windows didn’t recognize them as being drivers for the adapter. So re-installed windows and the issue became that the adapter didn’t recognize a cable being plugged in.
I’ve tried all drivers and checked off everything else. The adapter Will work, if set to 100Mbps full duplex. Which s__*s because we have gig soeed. After scouring the internet, I believe it’s a firmware issue.
However, all the methods I’ve seen of aquiring this firmware, at least through a reputable, are no longer available. The only way I (presumably) have of getting this firmware is by contacting Asus. Lol, maybe I should just leave a 1 star review so Asus will reach out to me rofl.
Other than that, this board suffers from the same lack of pci configurations, that every board south of $275 does. No 8×8 lanes available on any b550 or x570 under 275. face palms. Another downside is that if you populate one of the gen 3×1 slots the gen3x4 slots gets reduced to gen3x1.
Thats limiting. they could’ve just shared ya know??? Anyways, still games like a hoss and looks clean in the nxzt 510. If you like the asstetics, and 180 is all you want to spend, and you don’t mind spending a day getting the Ethernet to work, go for it You may want to find another board because of the Ethernet.
I’m still at 100mbps. You know, I was gonna give this 3 stars, but after remembering that whole day spent on this AND the fact it still isn’t resolved. It’s 2.
I’ve had nothing but issues with this board since I got it. Ironically, the bad Intel NIC everyone seems to have an issue with has been the most reliable thing on this board for me. The issues first came up a day after I installed the new MB in my system, when I was playing a game and my PC just shut off, without warning.
After 3 seconds it rebooted itself into Windows like nothing had happened. I thought that was odd and proceeded to try to game again, and it happened again. First thing I did was re-seat all my components.
I then ran a CPU stress test as well as MemTest86, and everything came out great. I then tried to game again and again, the PC simply shut off and rebooted after about 5 minutes of gameplay. Next thing I did was use a different PSU, thinking perhaps it was a power issue.
Installed the new PSU and again, the PC would shut off. After a few days, a new BIOS version came out and I immediately updated to it thinking that it may fix these instability issues I was having. but it unfortunately did not.
Now, after that update, I am having issues where the PC will shut itself off multiple times when started from a complete off. Watching the PC, it will start up and all the fans will be full blast, then it will run for 10 seconds and shut off, then after a few seconds it will restart.
After doing this cycle, the LED for the RAM will light up indicating an issue with the RAM. The only way to break that loop that has worked for me is to completely unplug the system, turn off the PSU, hold the power button to clear any residual electricity and then plug the PSU back in.
After I do that, the PC will start normally. My only conclusion is that the motherboard is faulty, as every component I have has been checked as well as ran in another system. The CPU works great, the PSU is brand new (tried 3 PSU’s in total) the RAM cleared MemTest86 as well as is on the QVL for the board AND worked great on an old Gigabyte board I use to test components, the SSD is fairly new and in good shape according to the Sandisk SSD health check and my GPU works flawlessly without issue.
That leaves the motherboard as the only piece that I can possibly think of that is having an issue, as I have checked all other components pretty thoroughly. the sad thing is, once it does start the PC will work fine while doing any task besides gaming, the whole reason I built it.
I can run stress test after stress test, brose the internet, watch movies, open 20 Chrome tabs, and not have an issue but once a gaming load happens the PC just says “nah, I’m out” and shuts off. Incredibly frustrating as my other Gigabyte B550 board has worked without issue for over a year now, absolutely flawless and now this, more expensive board, completely baffles me In fact, the only reason I got this board was because it’s one of the very rare white themed board, the other being the Gigabyte Vision D which is wayyy more expensive.

Disclaimer – I am receiving a warranty extension from ASUS for my feedback. I needed to build a new PC for the first time in about 15 years. My primary use case is for a Lab machine that I can run multiple Linux VMs and also dual boot into Windows 11 if I need to run a Windows app.
I wanted to use quality components and I remember using ASUS components in the past for my builds. In researching current motherboards, ASUS quickly rose to the top of my list. I wanted to use the AMD Ryzen 5700G so I wouldn’t need to buy a GPU, but still have the option to add one later.
I narrowed my choice down to the ASUS TUF Gaming X570-PRO WiFi II. It had USB-C support and other features I wanted at a good price. Once I built my machine I installed Windows 11 and Ubuntu 22. 04 LTS.
Both work great on this motherboard! I really like the Armory Crate app that ASUS provides that makes installing the correct drivers easy. The one issue I did have initially was WiFi and Bluetooth not being properly recognized.
After a bit of searching, I found a tip that I should power down the machine, unplug it, and flip the power supply switch while holding the on button for 30 seconds. After doing so WiFi and Bluetooth began working in both Operating Systems.
I highly recommend this motherboard for anyone looking at a new build!.
Getting this mobo to work was a pain in the butt. That’s the important takeaway here. The problem with this and many other ASUS motherboards is that it refuses to recognize your graphics card and fails POST.
Don’t waste your time re-seating the card or checking power cables. The card is not the problem. The motherboard has a BIOS configuration issue. The easy fix, if your motherboard has two full PCI slots, is to install the card in the second slot.
Boot up. Let the system POST, BIOS process, etc. Shutdown. Move your card back to the original slot. System will now recognize the card and boot normally. Other than that glaring problem from the outset, the motherboard has a nice feature set and has displayed no other issues.
It was a good price/feature option for me. The BIOS interface is pretty different from what I’m used to, though, and seems a bit more limited and simplified than traditional BIOS interfaces I’ve used in the past.
Not enough to ding it a star but something you may want to know when considering this board.
I was having problems with my desktop PC which I now use for both daily work and gaming. Prices on new motherboards and processors were at a point where it made sense to go ahead and replace both. This was an upgrade from a solid MSI X470 to an X570.
I was impressed right away with the Windows 11 boot speed and response time from the SSD. Everything was quick before, but this new motherboard makes it instant! It was easy to install and swap out memory, SSD and cables from my previous motherboard.
About two weeks in, I’ve had no problems with this new setup: It seems rock-solid to me. The only thing I haven’t really learned is how to create lighting effects with Aura Sync – not very intuitive, but I’ll eventually figure it out.
I do feel that this is an initial impression. My rating may change over time, depending on how this setup performs over the long haul.

This review is for the MSI Review Rebate Program. I have usually found myself in the upgrade camp vs total build camp. I think this model makes it an easy go to recommendation overall. It has excellent wifi/bluetooth which cheaper models do not offer.
It has the sleek all black stealth thing going for it. Great NMVe heatsinks to add function to fashion. Plenty of the important I/O modern boards and users will want. PCIe 5 slot for graphics card etc etc.
So I honestly was not shocked when all the DDR5 RAM evaporated and all that’s available is pretty questionable at best. I knew this board paired with the Intel 12700k would handle anything I put in here so I went with the fastest RAM I could at the not to ridiculous price point, RipJaw 4000mhz CL18 RAM got the nod and added to the all black stealth look the board has.
All I had to do was activate XMP in BIOS with one mouse click and was off to the races running at full speed. BIOS is very easy to use and navigate making my life much easier overall. Great quality of life improvements such as plenty of on-board Fan and ARGB inputs.
Looking at benchmarks and testing this board performs right up there with it’s bigger brothers and has just enough included to make you feel like you are not missing out on anything yet not having anything you probably don’t need.
My new rig consists of: Intel 12700k MSI Z690 Tomahawk DDR4 G. Skill RipJaws DDR4 4000mhz CL18 MSI MAG CoreLiquid 280R MSI Vega 56 Air Boost System runs very cool, quite, and nice accented RGB on the cooler.

This review is for the MSI Review Rebate Program. The reason I picked the Tomahawk Z690 DDR4 board is because DDR5 is a myth, they are like the leprechaun, people talk about them a lot but nobody seems to find them on any online shops.
So it ruled out any DDR5 boards for me. I first looked at Asus, because I’ve been using Asus motherboard all my life. The problem for their cheaper boards (liking TUF, prime etc. ) is they are severely handicapped.
Only 4 SATA ports and not enough USB or M. 2 ports. The Tomahawk, on the other hand, have much more ports than those cheap Asus boards. Asus only have one higher end DDR4 board, but that one have minor issue with CPU cooler compatibility.
They made their VRAM heatsink too large so most CPU cooler won’t fit or fit only in special positions. The Tomahawk board have a reasonable size heatsink and I have no issue installing my Noctua D15S cooler.
Then there’s the Gigabyte boards, they are even worst. They only have one output for Audio at the back. I have a 5. 1 speaks and there’s no output for the sub and rear speakers. The Tomahawk board have a more traditional back plate with the standard 5 outputs for audio.
Gigabyte also have a bad reputation for their BIOS, their shipped BIOS can’t even find the M. 2 drive. The MSI BIOS looks much more polished and stable, I can post right out of the box with no issues, although it’s not really perfect (yet).
The MSI Tomahawk DDR4 board is the best of it’s kind, anything better you would need a DDR5. But I do have some issues with their BIOS. My RAM is G. SKILL Ripjaws V 3600Mhz. Initially I can simply click the XMP profile and it will post with 3600Mhz no issue.
However, after I installed my whole system with all the SSD drives (I have 2 M. 2 Samsung drives, 2 SATA SSD and 4 hard drives), the system can only post at 2133Mhz. I guess it may have some conflict with my SSD or M.
2 drives? I haven’t have time to debug it yet. So I tried the latest BIOS (from 2021-Nov) which is even worst. Every time I boot from cold or restart, it will complaint about “CPU or Memory Changed !!! Please enter setup to configure your system.
” I can still boot to windows after 2 or 3 tries with this message and I don’t reboot very often, so it’s not a huge issue for me, but I do hope MSI with fix it in the future. The new bios still doesn’t fix the RAM overclock issue and I can’t downgrade back to the old bios using the regular M-Flash method (will need to use the bios flash button later).
But anyway, all manufacturers including Asus, Gigabyte and MSI have issues overclocking DDR4 rams. They seemed to put all their efforts in supporting the DDR5 ram. Although it’s a very logical decision to buy DDR4 right now (better price, similar or better performance than cheap DDR5 rams), but I’m worried about the long term support for DDR4 rams on the Z690 systems.

This motherboard works well and stable in my experience. It is well featured with 2 NVMe slots and all the ports you need. Except it does not have CPU overclocking features (because of the Intel Chipset) and also does not have Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Build quality is pretty good, but I wish ASUS would include metal backplate, it would make the motherboard feels more substantial. The MSI or Gigabyte counterparts would have backplates on them. For no frills 12th-Gen CPUs motherboard, can’t go wrong with this one.
So far its working perfect with a I7 12700k which I don’t need to overlock it for now. so the b660 is fine. evga 2080ti and Samsung 980 nvme. Yes I know its a k on a b660! lol reasons for it was current budget.

IšverstiShow in original languageI purchased this motherboard as an emergency back-up replacement to my ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero x570 motherboard, which died 12/16/2021 after only 10 months of time.
This motherboard was one of the cheapest X570 motherboards that I could personally verify at the store had a BIOS version ready for Ryzen 5000. NOTE: If you have a Ryzen 5000 CPU and purchase this motherboard online, there is a chance it may come with a BIOS version that is not ready to support it.
In-store, you can verify Ryzen 5000 readiness by looking for a sticker on the motherboard. It is likely most motherboards purchased online by this point will have the required BIOS for Ryzen 5000, but if you wish to verify this, you would have to see the box in-store.
If you do receive a board that has an old BIOS, this motherboard does NOT support BIOS flashback, which means you would need to install a compatible CPU (Ryzen 3000) to load the new BIOS for your Ryzen 5000 CPU.
AMD offers a loaner program for this, if you do not have a friend to borrow a CPU from, but you may be asked by AMD to go through ASUS first to see if you can send the board back to them to flash it for you.
This would be a headache, so if this is remotely a concern for you, I would recommend going in-store for this purchase. The motherboard is as-advertised and does everything it needs to do. My components transferred into the motherboard and booted up perfectly the first time.
The only tweaks needed were for RAM frequency which were adjusted in BIOS easily and gave no trouble. The motherboard manual is fairy detailed and was able to answer everything I needed to know regarding installation.
The reason for 4 stars versus 5 stars is that I have had two very odd freezes since putting my components into the system. The first freezing happened on the desktop while I was away from the computer.
The screen locked onto the desktop, system time was frozen at the time of the crash, and I could not move the mouse. The second time the computer froze I returned to my computer while it was on the desktop and found that the system time was frozen, but this time I could move the mouse.
I tried clicking on various applications and nothing would respond. After researching, there are some threads out there online that discuss this motherboard having freezing issues. I am fairly confident it has to be the board software and not any other part of my system, because I have observed no other defects on windows or crashes while doing more intensive tasks.
The freezes are very, very intermittent (on the order of 2 weeks+), so I will have to monitor for increases of frequency. It is a minor inconvenience at this point, but is noted so that you can do your own research prior to making the purchase.
If I could go back in time I think I would have gone for a Gigabyte board if I had not been in a pickle for getting a board quickly.

Windowsin laitehallinnassakaan ei näy mitään wifiin viittaavaa laitetta, ja Asuksen support sivuilta erikseen ladattu wifi ajurin asennusohjelma ei tunnu edes käynnistyvän, vaan sulkeutuu heti käynnistyksen jälkeen antamatta mitään virheilmoitusta.
Asuksen armoury crate taas listaa ja osaa päivittää emolevyn chipset ajurit, yms. mutta niillä ei tunnu olevan toimintaan vaikutusta (eikä se edes listaa mitään wifi-ajureihin liittyvää päivitettävää), joten siitäkään ei ole tilanteessa mitään apua.
Bioskin tarkistettu viimeisimmäksi versioksi ja wifi on biosin asetuksissa enabloituna. Tapauksessani tämä emolevy ei siis osoittautunut lisähintansa arvoiseksi esim. verrattuna halvempaan “Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus” emolevyyn, josta WiFi puuttuisi (kun ei se tässäkään toimi, joten täysin tyhjästä lisähinnan maksamista).
Tai selvästi kalliimpaan “Asus TUF Gaming X570-Pro WiFi II” emolevyyn, joka on itsellä myös käytössä ja joka on toiminut täysin ongelmitta. Tämän tuotteen raudan laatu tai ajurit on siis melkoinen pettymys.
Koska wifiä voi käyttää koneessa erillisen usb wifi donglen avulla, en itse aikonut palauttaa emolevyä takuuseen, sillä koneen kuljetuksista takuuseen aiheutusi suuremmat kustannukset kuin siitä erillisestä wifi usb donglesta ja kone ei olisi käytettävissä huollon aikana.
Näinollen tuotteen laadun ongelmat jäävät omaksi tappiokseni. Voi olla että muilla tuotteen ostajilla on parempi onni emolevynsa laadun kanssa ja wifi sattuukin toimimaan, mutta tuote saa minulta reilusti miinusta huonosta laadusta / tuotteen ominaisuuksista, joiden toimivuudesta ei ole taetta.
IšverstiShow in original languageThe first PC I built lasted for about 10 years and never gave me any serious problems. This year, the power supply failed and it wouldn’t POST anymore. Since it was already a decade old (practically prehistoric in the computer world these days) I put it aside and built a 2nd PC.
I chose the ASUS Tuf Gaming X570 on a whim (and more positive reviews), after I had spent a couple days selecting parts based around a Gigabyte something-or-other board. And I don’t regret it! Once I got my bearings, I breezed through connecting everything and the out-of-box POST and video card test went perfectly (after I used a good HDMI cable).
I was able to get into the BIOS and look around at temperatures and whatnot. There are a ton of options to customize how this thing runs. Placing it in the case wasn’t an issue, but installing the Cooler Master CPU fan took some figuring out.
Anyway I felt compelled to write this review mainly because of the trouble I had installing Windows 10 Pro, but also because of the other Cons I mentioned. I don’t think I would’ve ever gotten the Windows 10 problem if it hadn’t been for other customers on Newegg, so this is a thank you to them.
I tried to install it multiple times and failed every time (Windows encountered a problem with your machine blah blah blah). This went on for days. Then I remembered the reviews on here talking about the WiFi and Bluetooth.
So I disable both of them in the BIOS and Shazam! Specifically, the problem is with the WiFi controller. Even after I installed the OS, if I enabled the WiFi controller Windows 10 encountered a problem.
I couldn’t find any explanation for the conflict but I don’t use the WiFi so I quit worrying about it. The board doesn’t have an integrated graphics card, which is something OBS requires for the Window capture option to show video if you record the video from an application like VLC.
Only my GPU shows up in Device Manager. I worked around that by using the Game capture feature. I don’t understand the reasoning that well but apparently this board “gets” video from certain 5th Gen Ryzen CPUs, but earlier Gen require a GPU? But the board won’t boot up without a GPU anyway? I have a 3rd Gen Ryzen 9 CPU so I don’t know.
The last thing; there is an output for a USB-C connection but there’s no USB-C module on the board. There’s a USB 3. 2 but you’d have to convert it to a type C with an adapter, which kind of sucks because the Xbox PC controller I wanted to buy needs USB-C.
And I’m not going to sacrifice all of the available USB 3. 0 outputs for one type C; I don’t game nearly enough to justify that. The ASUS Tuf Gaming X570 (Plus WiFi) is a very great motherboard! The Windows 10 thing is really what’s preventing me from giving it a perfect score.

I’m a video editor and was looking to make some upgrades to my system. Due to editing raw video codecs I decided to stick AMD for the blunt power of many cores; but I won’t be jumping to AM5 until the platforms matures a little first to avoid any instability issues.
I needed a motherboard that offered at least two extra PCIe slots each with 4x lanes or greater for my extra cards – which is surprisingly difficult to find. Plus some m. 2 slots for fast storage. Threadripper was beyond what I could afford.
This is one of the few AM4 motherboards that allows you to fully populate all of the M. 2 slots and PCIe slots. Many others that offer 4x M. 2 slots and extra PCIe slots won’t allow you to use them all at once due to the limitations of the chipset; such as populating all m.
2 slots will turn off a PCIe slot and so on, so you have to do some careful research into the what can and cannot be used at the same time. So while this board doesn’t offer 4x M. 2 slots, it does mean that all 3x of them can be used at the same time as all the PCIe slots.
Incase you’re curious the board has been populated with a graphics card, Blackmagic Decklink 4k Monitor Card, a 10Gbe ethernet card, NVMe boot drive, NVMe scratch disk, and SATA SSD file storage. I’m hoping that someday someone will make a motherboard with heaps of bifurcated PCIe expansion to give users like me more expandability without the need to jump up to threadripper; but until then this will fit my requirements perfectly.

Je recommande cette carte mère, elle est top au niveau prix et vous offre en plus un module et le wifi 6 qui vous permet d’atteindre une vitesse de connexion de plus de 2. 4 gbps. Mais le point le plus positif de tout ça c’est qu’elle ne limite pas la puissance des processeurs non K et le fait correctement, contrairement à d’autre b560 budget qui elles limitent la puissance du processeur à 65W direct après l’installation vous serez donc obligé de changer la limite dans le bios manuellement ce qui demande une petite connaissance en informatique, et en plus de cela elles chaufferont énormément car elle ne sont pas conçues pour ce genre de chose et ne permettrons notamment pas au processeur d’atteindre sa vitesse max.

Première micro ATX que j’ai en ma possession et je la trouve nickel. Venant de chez Gigabyte, sous eATX, j’ai préféré prendre une carte avec un format plus utile. N’ayant aucun SLI à faire, il me fallait tout de même les 2 ssd port M.
2. L’absence de wifi ne me dérangeait pas passant par câble. L’overclocking (9600KF à 5Ghz) se fait facilement et le menu bios est très complet. Je continue sa découverte encore… Elle trouve place dans un boitier InWin 101 TUF qui laisse passer le ventirad BeQuiet DarkRock Pro 4 pile poils (faut pas 5mm de plus) pour une bonne aeration.

I already had two ATX TUF X570’s with excellent results, so I went with Asus’s TUF family again for a more compact build, upgrading my daughter’s school+gaming PC. Installed it on an Antec NX200 M case.
Performs greatly with a 5600X CPU, and despite the form factor there’s decent clearance from the CPU to the PCIEv4x16/GPU slot to install a Noctua NH-U12S cooler comfortably in the vertical position.
This SKU doesn’t have wireless, but it has an Intel Ethernet 2. 5G NIC and it’s packed with USB ports up to 3. 2 and Type-C; it’s hard to find a Micro-ATX board with all I/O you need plus performance / price / VRM quality.
I only wanted Bluetooth so I added a $30 PCIe card for that; which I also like so I can easily upgrade the WiFi/BT AX chip in a motherboard that doesn’t have an easily-accessible M2 M-Key slot for that.
This still leaves one PCIe3x16 slot free so it’s OK for me. Only complaint is the limited number of chassis fan headers but that’s a common trait of Micro-ATX boards. Right now the available headers are just right for the build, but as soon as I can upgrade its GPU to something better and more power-hungry, I’ll probably want an extra fan at the top to help exhaust heat without much extra noise (many fans going slowly beat fewer fans going fast).
I can use the CPU_OPT header for that, or share the same header as the back fan’s with a splitter, not ideal solutions if you’re nitpicky about that stuff but again common tradeoffs of a compact build.
I’ve only had this motherboard for a few weeks and haven’t tested it to its full capacity just yet, but I love it. On a surface level, I find the design really cool and pleasing. There’s an RGB light in the bottom right that always glows and can sync up with the rest of my LEDs in my case for a seamless lighting experience.
Onto the more technical side, I had the staff at MicroCenter install this one for me (after having another motherboard in my PC that wasn’t compatible with my CPU), but from what I can tell all the slots are clearly labeled (thank goodness! on my old one the proper hookups were so hard to find and figure out) and easy to find, so setting it up would be a breeze.
The only thing I wish it had was more RGB headers, but splitters aren’t expensive, so I can deal with that in favor of a fast, reliable, and stylish motherboard. The WiFi extension was easy to figure out and set up, and despite my PC being in a basement apartment with my router in another room through thicker walls, it gets GREAT signal.
I haven’t had an issue with it not picking up a signal yet. Highly recommend this motherboard. It’s pricier than some others, of course, but you get what you pay for, and this one is certainly worth the price.
This motherboard is all-around a good performer. Build quality is high. Aesthetics are good. I have a couple of gripes with it. First, one NVMe slot is so close to the CPU socket that I couldn’t fit a drive in it with my AIO shifted to cool Ryzen chiplets.
The other NVME slot is buried under a cumbersome heat spreader with no stand-off to attach it. It’s easily fixable with some parts, but I was disappointed by the out of box NVMe compatibility. Second, the Aura Sync software is now bundled with the rather cumbersome Armory Crate software, which I’ve already uninstalled, so that was kind of disappointing as well.
On the bright side, it enabled resizable BAR with a couple of clicks, so I’m feeling positive overall.
