20 Best Cheap L Shaped Desk (2023 Updated)

I have no idea why the main photo is advertised as if it is a platform bed. There is no way a person could use this as is without a box spring. I bought it and bought wood to cut down to make proper slats for it to be used with just a matress.

The sides are made out of two pieces which are held together just by the leg. The middle of the bed also has a large gap where there is no support and due to the leg being taller than the lip that holds the slats, you can’t even add additional there.

Which makes absolutely no sense due to the middle carrying so much weight. The lip that holds the slats on the sides is screwed into the leather siding. So pretty well the whole thing is held up by the sides.

Overall I love this bed, the leather style is stamped well, it is a really dark brown with a black tone. It looks luxurious and feels sturdy for now. Hoping it holds out on me though.

Great Price for such a large desk but top surface is not super durable I saw this desk in a few different spots online and payless had the cheapest price I could find. It fit perfect in my space and was within the right price point for such a large desk.

The assembly was pretty straightforward and had no major issues getting it assembled. It is very sturdy and feels pretty solid. My major complaint is the durability of the top surface of the desk. Within minutes of final assembly, I had scratched the top without really knowing what had done it.

I ordered some large desk pads for protection and that seems to do the trick more or less. For the price, it’s a great buy and is exactly what I needed for my space.

The product is cheap. cheaper than most ‘big box Swedish meatball’ store products in both price and quality. It goes together fairly easily although the pictures included change direction/perspective and threw us off at one point.

Not a big deal just pay attention. Quality of the coating on the laminate is poor. Three spots (one large on top!) of bumps and roughness. The large one was right in the middle so the computer covers it.

I knew what I was buying – a cheap desk to hold a computer – but was a teeny bit disappointed with it still. You won’t even notice the problems once you’ve been using it. but DO NOT sit or lean on it heavily.

I wouldn’t buy it again but it is serving our purpose so. a three star review.

It’s definitely easy to assemble, but it will take an hour or so. Also you can do on your own. I am using it for a two and a half months now. And I am totally in love with this table. Although, if you need a table with a huge surface then it’s not a table for you, but if you just need to study or write few thing or some small office table it’ll be perfect choice.

It’s not a table for crafting or sewing it’s way to small. I try to use it at first for my serger, but it’s not a good choice for it so far. Other then that it has a lot of space for your folders and documents and all other stuffs.

Beautiful. Cheep material but sturdy and looks much more expensive then it is.

I love the look of this desk and it fit perfectly in the room. I was able to manage putting it together by myself but it would have gone quicker if I had had an extra pair of hands.

This desk is perfect to work remote from home and to study as well. The desk is beautiful and modern. There are plenty of drawers to hide everything and keep the clutter off the desk. This desk comes is two boxes and does take awhile to put together, as there are many pieces.

I think they have improved on a couple of things since some past reviews I have read; the instructions were pretty easy to follow even though it is pictures only and the file cabinet bottom drawer does actually fit hanging folders.

The reasons I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because the price is high, it does take a few hours to get it fully put together and a couple of the drawers don’t match up completely.

I really love my desk. It works great for my small business I have and run from my house. There are so many drawers and storage which is wonderful for everything I use daily for my business. The only down fall is the 2 small drawers that come out next to where I sit.

The inside “wall” that holds the drawer is not tight and only held by a dowel and a furniture cam lock and nut. It is lose and both drawers will occasionally fall off the track. We will probably have to put an L bracket to make sure the piece stays in place and the drawer does not fall off track.

I purchased this desk as my old computer desk was giving up the ghost (it was 25 years old and was made for the first smaller computer/typewriter set-up). The one that I really wanted hasn’t been available since the plandemic and so I purchased this one instead.

The ‘fit and finish’ of this was exceptional, no scratches and everything tended to fit a lot better than I normally experience. Positives: The instructions are generally well written and packaging the parts by each step was a time-saver.

Very well packaged and damage resistant. Could use work: Glue, it’s good, but the instructions should give some indication of just much of the dowel should be sticking up to make a good fit (I put it in half and didn’t slide it all the way down the hole because I felt that it wouldn’t make for a nice fit when the other part came together – I was correct) Top was warped, so much so that my wife had to practically sit on the top to get it flat enough to fasten all of the cam screws tight into their cams.

I was able to get it fastened. Overall if I could have, I would have given this a 4 ¾ star rating, but I just couldn’t bring myself to giving it a ‘5’. Since I don’t believe it’s really fair to ‘rate’ the desk based on the fact that this wasn’t my first choice, my rating doesn’t reflect any shortcomings of the desk as I knew there would be some things that I was compromising in order to get this desk, though I will mention that I believe, as others have said, that the ‘tower space’ should have had the option of having a shelf w/pegs in the event that you didn’t need a place for a tower.

Another thing that people should be aware of on that space, if you do put your tower in there, be aware that it gets *very* warm and that it *will* radiate into the drawer above, so don’t put anything in the drawer that’s sensitive to heat in there, it will be cooked! The instructions do state that you must keep the door open when the tower is running.

In retrospect, I should have either skipped putting the back panel in that space and let it get more air or put the tower on top of the desk (though I wouldn’t have liked that as much).

I bought this desk about 2 weeks ago and assembled it a few days after purchasing it. I was a little intimidated by all of the parts and pieces, but it was a piece of cake after I got started. It did take about 6 hours to assemble, but that timeframe did include a few breaks and phone calls.

Also, I purposely went slowly to avoid mistakes. There was one part where I connected two large brackets to the bottom part of the desktop that are used for the sliding keyboard tray. Either I misunderstood the instructions, or the instructions were not super clear for that part.

I installed the brackets incorrectly. Luckily, it was very easy to correct my mistake even after the desk was fully assembled. I assembled the desk by myself, but having a second set of hands would have been helpful.

There were two, maybe three steps involved where I would have benefited from having a second set of hands, but I managed to handle it myself. One assembly tip is to not screw screws super tight. The particle-board-type material may be damaged that way.

Screw screws sufficiently tight of course but don’t over do it. My only complaint about this desk (and it’s not the desk’s fault – I should have been more aware when purchasing), but my only complaint is I wish it had a better cord management system.

I need to do something to better manage various cords and cables. Overall though, I am happy with my purchase. I would purchase this product again. Good fit, finish, and utility for an item in this product category.

I particularly like the desktop. The leatherette type material provides an attractive finish, and it functions as a mousepad.

I read reviews on this desk, mostly positive. I’m not sure if it was the specific desk I happened to get or not, but I’m not too happy with the quality of materials. Obviously it’s not real wood, so buying a desk made with this material is not going to be as good and I know that.

That’s just a fact and you get what you pay for. That’s not why I’m disappointed. Not a single drawer sits in the track right. This is because the outer boards that have the track rails attached are all bowed.

The door on the bottom catches on the drawer above it. I spent an hour adjusting the hinges and could not get the drawer to sit plum and not have it hit the drawer above. I messed with it so much I accidentally ripped the top hinge out of the desk.

As for the hutch, the middle vertical board doesn’t even touch the desk. Must have been cut short It is a nice looking and decent desk. I’m sure in most people’s cases they received materials that were not defective.

Unfortunately, I did not. I installed it myself and followed the instructions. I never leave reviews on products, but when you spend $600 plus on an item, regardless of material it’s made with, I would expect to get a quality product.

It just seems like this was rushed through the assembly line.

Extremely fast shipping arrived before Christmas. Desk arrived in 2 boxes. It is what my son wanted. Its heavy duty, very functional. Height was taller than expected, I guess I didnt look at dimensions, just something to note if you already have an office chair.

The shelves are nice addition. I would highly recommend this desk, the seller it came from and Walmart.

Looks and feels exactly as advertised. Very happy with this durable product. Took ~1 hour to setup all screws. Love it as my workstation. The width is good enough for a keyboard and monitor but it you are looking at multi-monitor setup, this may not work for you – do check the dimensions.

Packaging was divided into two parts. The whole setup can be done by one person – more the merrier. Overall loving it!.

Had never used Aosom before so we were understandably a little apprehensive and I searched some reviews for peace of mind. Whilst these were not always stellar I am always of the opinion that its easier for people to complain than praise a company so I took the overall positive reviews and gave them a chance.

I’m so glad we did, we had bought a desk for our daughter and the desk arrived very quickly (within 48 hours from order) and is as described and our daughter loves it. Great service and would absolutely use these guys again.

Love this desk. It did take a little skill to put it together, but it was worth the effort. Now whenever I get board of my apartment set up, all I have to do is change the configuration. Easy! Plus it is very sturdy and the look is clean and fresh.

Edit after two years I still love this desk, but the surface has definitely scratched significantly. After one year I love this desk. Ive had it for nearly a year now, and it has held up beautifully.

I put a couple of small scratches in it, but the slightly marbled surface makes it easy to hide them with a black pen. I love the shelf under the desk for hiding all of my messy stuff. The file drawer is a nice size and opens and closes smoothly.

It is a bit of a challenge to assemble, but the instructions are very thorough and easy to understand (I definitely recommend two people, though). My only complaint is a small one – I really wish it had a keyboard tray.

If you are looking to attach a keyboard tray, I recommend that you take off the small decorative bar just under the desk on whichever side you want to install the tray. It will make your life much easier!.

Absolutely love the desk! The only reason it’s a 4 out of 5 is because of assembly. Some instructions would’ve been more helpful in a different order. Some pieces were labeled with letters actually marked into the wood and some were just stickers.

Half of the stickers had fallen off so it was a little tricky finding the right pieces. The desk itself is very nice quality for the price and size.

I bought this L-shape executive desk for my husband when he was started working at home during the pandemic. It’s not a big desk but it’s a perfect size for our home office. We also replaced our floor from the carpet to hardwood and the desk color is perfectly matching with the floor! It was a surprised gift for him.

This is really perfect for my office. For the price, it is pretty good quality. I only wish it had a little drawer under the desk for pencils, papers but I plan to get an organizer for the larger drawers that are on the side.

And it will also force me to keep my desk space more organized as well. Would purchase again.

I bought this based on reviews I’d read, and it’s a 3 in 1 wormer. This is reasonably priced, which is important. I’ve not seen any worms, as treat my dog on a regular basis. My dog wasn’t sick, as has happened with expensive wormers bought at the vets, hence this must suit him, and he retains the medication rather than pukking it.

I will buy this again.

Although I have a pet plan that supplies worming tablets from the vet my dog wont take them and when he did, wasnt well. So I tried these and have used them now for a couple of years. Happy healthy wormed dog!.

I love this desk. It stands very sturdy and firm. Screws were not the size stated on installation instructions, however, there were enough of them and we didn’t have to search around for any extras. You do need two people to install.

Escpecially the iron parts. One to hold in place, while the other person screws on. The little shelves are perfect to hold my pen holders and stuff. They served the purpose and the desk looks beautiful in my closet where I intend to work from home.

I love the desk. It is exactly what I was wanting. It is a good size. I love that it has a place for my printer and the storage space it offers. My previous desk was small and didn’t offer a lot of space or storage.

It also didn’t have a place for my printer. The top shelf has enough space for both my large monitors and other items. Also, I am short, so if I want to stand all I have to do is raise the monitors a little to allow me to stand.

The desk is sturdy but it did take my husband a couple of hours to put together. It is perfect for working from home.

I thought the desk was very well-made loved the color of it, even though it said it was white it’s really a white washed gray it’s really pretty, it’s very sturdy, but the drawer sticks and it’s a little hard to open, we are working on fixing that.

Easy to assemble. My 13yr old son was able to assemble it alone. Just watch out for the screws because it can be confusing. But it’s just minor. Table height is perfect. You won’t slouch when you work.

I needed an L-shaped desk for a smaller space. This fits perfectly – the shelf can be attached to either side depending on the room you’re putting it in. As far as DIY furniture goes, this one was pretty easy to assemble.

We did it in less than an hour. The price was also great.

It was packaged well. It is pretty. It is sturdy. It can be built by one person without too much difficulty. The lift top leaves a lot to be desired. It holds a 15″-16″ laptop but add anything else – like the power supply or speakers – and it has two positions: fully up or fully down.

The “L” can only be as shown. If you need a different configuration, you cannot have it. Also, a bit expensive for “hecho en China. ” I would more willingly pay even a few dollars more for American-made.

Great desk! Big and sturdy

I bought this for my daughter to use as a desk and vanity in one. She loves it! This desk is a lot larger in person than what the picture seems. Make sure to measure your area first! Very heavy as well, so intend on having someone help carry the box and lift the glass top.

My main issue was that one of the screw holes was stripped out so it’s not grabbing the screw. I tried to find a number to call to order another piece and couldn’t find one within the package. Now i’m going to have to call the store.

Just annoying to have to play the run around game for one malfunctioning screw hole. Once I get that fixed it will be a great piece that she can grow with as an adult.

I really like this desk – have been using it for a week. I like the functionality that I can do work related stuff on one side and swivel over and do personal stuff on the other side. It was really easy to put together – you do need two people.

It was packaged really well – box inside a box. There was only one scrape on it. It was really minor and I just put that part facing the inside – don’t even see it. For the price and look of this desk, you can’t beat it.

I know other reviewers have said this was easy to assemble? It’s not difficult per say, but you definitely need two people in order to ensure it all goes together and legs remain straight at right angles + you need someone to help get the large glass desktop on (really unsafe to try it yourself.

Exactly what I was looking for. First the good. The price was a deciding factor, and as such, it was better than I hoped for. Once assembled it seems very sturdy, especially for home use. The drawers slide on rollers, and work nicely.

I got it with free delivery, so that helped. The not so good: Even though it is well packed, there were a few small defects. 6 of the screws supplied were the wrong design. The package should have been O, I received P.

Fortunately I had some on hand. Most of the instructions are clear enough, but not so much with the drawer slides. The whole thing is press board, and the veneer is a plastic film. Care must be taken not to damage it.

I suggest you supply your own wood glue. Few tools are needed, the Allen wrench is supplied. Working alone, it took over two hours to fully assemble. One concern is the edges are very square with sharp corners.

If you have small children, or are in close quarters, edge guards may be a good idea. The drawer slides are very light weight and may not hold up under heavy loads? In review: For the money spent, I am happy with the purchase.

This is an entry level desk from overseas, that combines a large surface, three drawers, and a stylish look. This is not a high quality item, but for occasional home use, I expect it will hold up just fine for many years.

the big lot website was easy to browse and items had plenty of description. However, when searching for items using the search field provided, the hits on the search was not accurate. The search feature needs to be tuned up.

The office desk that I purchased looks nice when I put it together. However, the large drawer is stuck and very difficult to open and close. I checked and double checked the installation, but I have not found a solution to the stuck drawer.

Also, the instructions that came with the desk had drawings but no written step-by-step instructions. This made the process very difficult and time consuming. Another issue was that not all the pieces were labeled with numbers or letters.

Only one tiny glue container was provided which was not nearly enough for the project. I was generous when giving the item a 3 star. It probably deserves a 2. 5 rating.

The desk looks as advertised and has a spacious L-shaped compartment for printers, scanners, external hard disks, and other computer peripheral devices. The fact that the compartment does not have front and back walls is even better if you think how easy it is to connect your devices to an outlet: all wires can go directly to the outlet.

The desk is rather challenging to assemble though. Panels have numbers printed on them, and these numbers correspond to the assembly manual, but screws are put into non-marked separate containers. The manual has drawings that ironically do not correspond to how actual screws look like.

It’s easy to make a mistake if you aren’t measuring screws and making sure they are exactly the same length as stated in the manual. Would have given it 4. 5 stars because screws, but rounded to a 5.

It is the best desk I’ve ever had. On the triangle section I have my printer. My HP all in one computer is to the left of it where I do most of y work. On the right side I have items to place my scissors, pens, markers.

I have a 3 drawer small storage unit and I have my postage scale. Underneath I have a case of copier paper, 2 bins where I store my work, manila envelopes and under my computer I have a Cubii where I pedal while I work.

I purchased this in a store rather than online. Assembly was easy enough for one person – the instructions were clear and all parts were present and labeled. The fit and finish is not very good, with slight misalignments between the boards and metal frames, the edges are a little worn from movement in the box, and there is bad molding on the plastic caps, but it looks decent once it’s all together.

It would be nice if the keyboard tray was a bit wider but that’s typical of low-end office furniture. This would be more forgivable except for the design flaw. The serious design flaw involves the crossbar directly under and supporting the 5/8″ desk boards themselves (part number 8 in the instructions).

Only one supporting bar is included for each side of the desk and the tabs to attach it are only present on the front third of the desk. This provides woefully inadequate support for anything closer to the rear of the desk: a single Dell P2414H 24″ (~16 lbs) monitor on its included base is enough to cause the back of the desk to bow! I do not know why the designers would go to the trouble of making a 24″ deep desk (deeper than the 19-20″ typically standard) then screw it up by inadequately supporting the part of the desk that would be supporting the most weight.

I’m leaning heavily towards just returning this; If I do not try to return this desk, I’ll be trying a monitor mount that can clamp right to the metal frame or buying something from Lowes to reinforce the back – but then again, if I had the tools to make that why wouldn’t I just make my own desk to begin with?.

This is a clean looking, cost effective and sturdy office desk. We have purchased several for our business and really liked them. Easy and quick assembly. Lightweight and easy to move if you like to rearrange often.

I have mixed office reviews with the keyboard tray; some love it and some HATE it, but those that hate it have been happy with the keyboard on the desktop.

First, I kept seeing the price fluctuate on this, so that was a bit annoying to see it cheaper one day and a bit higher the next. But, nevertheless, I needed a new L-desk because my husband lost the hardware to our old one in a move.

It was packaged well, where every desk piece had bumpers and foam liner to prevent scratches. Granted its not real wood but its not the cheapest MDF you could find, so it should hold what we need it to.

The instructions that came with it are awful. Its pictures and no words with small, hard to see visuals. To top it off, almost none of the holes matched up for the wood pieces. We moved things around so much wondering what the heck was the issue and it still would never line up.

Definitely a manufacturing issue. Either the holes would be way off or the screw would have to go in slanted. We ended up drilling new holes under the panels going through the frame holes. Definitely frustrating to put together, but it will function for what we need it for so we are keeping it.

If you’re handy with a drill, you could make this one work for you. If not, match up the panels to the framing first before full assembly in case you need to send it back.

Quite satisfied with this desk. I assembled it by myself without issues, fast and easy. Been using it for months and I like how much room I have to place all my stuff. I just moved in, so I have no other furniture but the desk; been using it as a dining table and an office without the need to move my things around all the time, I just rotate on the chair when it’s time to “be” on either side.

The material of the table is sturdy but could be of better quality; still, the option of assembling the desk in your prefered configuration makes up for that.

I bought this about a month ago. It took an incredibly long time to put together, probably 8 hours. At least four of the boards were scratched or damaged. It’s not too noticeable with the whole desk assembled though.

My primary complained is the hanging file cabinet drawer. The hanging file frame is too large for standard or even legal size hanging folders. It’s 16 inches across which there is no standard for. I’ll now have to purchase a frame to sit in the drawer which is additional cost and will slide around in the drawer.

The drawer itself is only 17 inches deep though, so finding a legal size frame that fits that depth is difficult as most frames are about 6 inches longer than that. Definitely added a layer of complexity to a feature I was excited to have.

The rest of the storage is pretty good. The power deck on top of the desk will only support smaller cables coming out of it. Anything larger like a big power cable will not allow the cover to lay flat.

The desk is very pretty on the eyes. and came is 2 heavy boxes. needs atleast 2 people to move, let alone put it together. but the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. and the flexibility of 2 orientations is a plus.

This desk is sturdy and beautiful. Be sure to measure your space as it is not a small desk. I purchased the desk for my home office and so far so good. I have enough space for my laptop, and a monitor and a huge modem and I have a big work phone.

There is still enough space if I wanted to add a second monitor. Please be sure to give yourself time to build the desk as there are many pieces but the instructions were easy to follow.
