Best Chamois To Dry Car (2026 Updated)

I bought this for my Mum as she moved into a new place and needed a solution for windows she could not get clean. She is very happy with our shiny and clean her windows are. Would definitely recommend.

I purchased two of these, thinking good quality. Firstly very small in size, secondly they do not hold moisture well and leave a residue on paintwork, glass and mirrors.

Bought this item a little while ago. Great leather for drying water marks off a newly washed car. Good size and quality.

Great absorbent towel. Love large size as you can either use to dry your car or cut down to size needed for drying shower walls or faucets in the house. Good replacement for Sham Wow towels. Three to a package is a good buy.

Our dog has a daily ritual as we leave the dog park everyday. she runs for the mud puddle by the gate and lays down in it! Uggh! By the time I get there , she is filthy! So now I have to hose her off! Which she absolutely loves! (I think she figured out the perfect way to cool down after running around trying to catch those squirrels! Lol) The shammies are perfect for drying her off in a hurry! Luv em!.

This cloth is beyond fabulous. Bought it nine months ago and cannot be without one! I have a black Toyota Avalon and after I wax it with Meguiars I like to keep the car looking that nice all the time.

The cloth does exactly what it states it will do! Open the cloth and run it over the car, it absorbs water perfectly and definitely leaves a streak and spot free finish. Well worth the couple of minutes it takes to dry the car.

This is wicked easy to use. It’s fast at drying and I got the towel also as a second to help the other dry while I use this. And safe to say will be getting another one of each. This is great. Could of been a bit bigger.

But large enough for a good size saloon. For those none car people its a car with a proper boot. Bit I would recommend getting this. And another to help one dry and change between. Great investment.

I use a rubber squeege first to remove excess water then use the water magnet towel. It truly absorbs water like a magnet. This was by far the best drying towel I have ever used, but that all changed after I washed it.

it stopped absorbing water the same way, I don’t know what happened. I used it maybe about 15 times before washing it so I got some good use before it got washed but for the price I don’t think it’s a good investment.

Natural chamois are a fast way to dry & remove residual post-wash dirt from your vehicle’s paint. Natural chamois are durable & will last many years. I’m glad that O’Reilly’s has high-quality automotive products!.

I work on yachts that have lots off varnish and when guests are aboard, you live with a chamois in your hand all day. First thing in the morning is chamois the dew off the cushions. Haven’t found a marine store that sells a real chamois.

I bought this natural chamois because I was finding small scratches on my cars paint and read online that a synthetic chamois, what I was using, is smooth and can trap remaining dirt particles between the synthetic chamois and paint, causing scratches.

A real chamois, however, has fibers that stick out from the leather which pull any residual dirt into the material, protecting the paint. Needless to say, after buffing out the scratches and using the real chamois, I am no longer seeing any scratches!! I’m thrilled with the results from this chamois and find it’s definitely worth the additional expense over a synthetic and having to buff out scratches.

I was very disappointed with this product. I had such high hopes with the high ratings here, but it has many drawbacks and is just generally very inefficient at drying cars when much better products are now available.

Here are my list of cons: 1. The towel is pretty tiny in total surface area, so it is naturally going to be a lot slower to dry off a whole car 2. While pretty absorptive, it still gets saturated quickly and even if you wring it out, often it will still leave behind smeared water droplets that will then dry on your car.

This is okay. but not at all ideal 3. This chamois will really STICK to the wet metal surface. If you have lots of curves/edges, you will end up really dragging this HARD across the surface at times due to this stickiness, which is both annoying and also not at all ideal if you are trying to avoid scratches when drying.

Using it was a nightmare. I ended up spending more to purchase Griot’s PFM drying towel, and that product is magical in comparison. I had my car dry in 3 minutes the first time I used it and it was extremely gentle on the car surface.

Maybe this product was the best game in town when it was first introduced, but do yourself a favor and purchase one of the large, high-quality, microfiber-based drying towels instead. They are far superior along every possible dimension in comparison to this product.

I’ve never seen anything like this for drying off vehicles after washing. It’s very similar to the traditional shammies but supposedly it’s made of some space-age polymer instead. Whatever it is, it works great.

Pro Tip: DO NOT store it moist in the container it comes in, like the instructions say. In a few days you will remove something that smells worse than the wet socks you forgot to take out of the washing machine three days ago.

Fortunately, after some washing in the sink with hot water, I got the smell out and it still works great. I didn’t wash the towel with soap and I wouldn’t recommend it. seems like it might be a real chore to rinse all the soap out.

Awesome product. I have to wash my car once a week as my work place is a dirt lot and has car carriers coming through all the time so it’s gets really dirty. I tried using those microfiber gloves but all they did is move the leftover dirt around when trying to dry.

With this, all I need to do is wash my car with a sponge, rinse and dry off with the absorber towel and it dries really fast and the car looks shiny and new when I’m done. Best thing I’ve found for car washing.

Beats microfiber or a chamois any day.

It soaks up the water pretty well, but the first time I used it after shaking it off, it left tan pieces of cloth all over the vehicle I was washing. In a detailers perspective, this isn’t something that anyone should want.

Especially for the price of it. It did work but just not like it should’ve. Honestly a plush microfiber towel would be better even though it takes them a minute to start soaking up the water. I rate this a 2/5.

After the first use too, I tried washing it with a hand wash and then a tumble dry. Even with the setting put to tumble dry it still made the towel crinkle up on the sides and basically made it look awful and perform worse.

I have an old chamois that I’ve probably had for 30 years. I wanted to get a new one because my old one is a little beat up. This one just doesn’t feel as sturdy or thick as my old one. The price was good, but I’m just not crazy about it.

It doesn’t hold as much water as my old one either. Maybe the company can figure out how to make future models thicker.

It’s a real honest chamois, not a paper make believe substitute. Very pliable, soft, as new, works as expected of a quality chamois. would not recommend it as a breech cloth however, Soaks water from my Lincoln and leaves no water marks, exactly what I bought it for.

Would recommend to a friend or an enemy equally, and would purchase this product again if needed, indeed.

Not bad for the money. For the money it’s not a bad product. Just wash it in the washer on delicate with no soap before use. If you don’t it leaves a bunch of little fibers on your car. Dries with no streaking and just overall a good chamois.

This product is AWESOME! It is now my go-to chamois. It doesn’t grab or stick to paint clearcoat surfaces, like the Simionz ones did (those didn’t hold up well for long). It is a little expensive, but it is worth it.

Thick, absorbs water well and is durable. Make sure that before first use, soak it in hot tap water, in a bucket, for a few days. That way, it gets worked in.

Great chamois! I have bought many that are far more expensive than this one that don’t even compare to this. Great results, it has lasted brilliantly, and with a great case for it, it means that it doesn’t get dirty when not in use.

Very effective and vegan! really does the job well unusually it has to be stored damp so don’t throw the container away upon opening ! definitely recommend and would buy again.

AutoGlym always produce excellent products. This is a lovely large size for a fraction of the cost of a similar size chamois. So easy to wring out and the finish on the car after washing is really good with a lot less effort on my part.

Product is washable so will stay clean and grit free, again, unlike a chamois. Overall, wish I had purchased one of these drying towels a long time ago.

I bought this to replace a real leather Chamois that was coming to the end of it’s useful life. The synthetic product drys well and is easy to use and maintain. I would say that so far the product works better than a real Chamois.

Only time will tell how long it lasts but really pleased with my purchase so far.

This is very light and extremely easy to ring out when cleaning my cottage window. I also use it for drying my car after washing it. This is so much easier than using the old fashioned chamois leather.

I’ve just used for first time and really impressed with the finish, really absorbent and left no streaks. Highly recommend for removing those droplets.

I love these my second time buying them but I cannot help but notice walmary has increased the price to $12 i remember paying roughly around $7 or less for this pack of microfiber cloths and now they have rose the price to a higher amount.

I really don’t appreciate that because they were affordable and got the job done and quality for such low price was really unexpected it blew me away. I really love these but cannot buy them for almost $12 when I used to pay no more than $7 for the pack! please put back the regular price walmart!.

I didnt get this exact pack, so I’m not so sure this is a fitting review. However, the towels i purchased were decent, well made. My only issue is they give off a lot of light in the beginning. I know as a pro detailer this can happen before they get washed, in also smart enough to know they are retail towels so i wouldn’t use them on a coating job, but aside from that.

Cheaply made with a sort of rough feel. Have a tag sewn into the hem which needs to be removed to use these for wax removal or it could scratch the finish of your car. Of course anyone that concerned about not scratching their paint is not buying their microfiber cloths at Walmart.

Only purchased these to get free shipping and to use as rags. Probably good for that.
