I will like to make clear that I’m not an avid camper by any means. I’m current stationed in Japan and about to retire. Japan has a lot of Car camping grounds, one of the reason I bought a pair of the Mica Basin camping chairs.
I’m sure you will be able to find reviews of more hardcore campers all over the internet. What I would liketo share with everyone is, I’ve been using these chairs for the past 6 months and I can testify of their comfort and durability.
As I mentioned before, I’m retiring from the Armed forces soon. My wife and I decided to ship the majority of our household goods back in September of last year. This means, that we have been without a sofa, couch and dining table to include the chairs since September.
We have been using the Mica Basin camping chairs all this time (March at the time of this review) without any issues. Please don’t take the word “using” lightly. We literally replace our home furniture with these chairs; i.
e. eating, watching tv, reading books, etc. I know for some readers this will seem impractical, trust me, for anyone who has to deal with constant moving (every 2 to 4 years) will not. These chairs are built like a tank and I don’t really find them that heavy, specially the comfort they give you compared to smaller and lighter camping chairs.
The reason why I ended up buying two Big Six Armchairs from Big Agnes.
I love this chair it is super comfortable. This is the second one that I purchased. It’s super light, super easy to set up, and super comfortable. It packs away very small, has it’s own case which is nice when packed doesn’t snag on anything.
I’m 5’7 225 and it is a perfect fit for me. I’ve taken it on several backpacking trips and it always seems to be the chair that everybody wants to sit in. Purchased this one for my wife, her previous pack chair failed and we decided this would be a great time to upgrade for her.
She was a little apprehensive at first due to the price. But you get what you pay for, mine is several years old and still going strong looks brand new and is my favorite camping chair. They go with us from backpacking to car camping this is just an awesome chair.
At 260lb & 6’4”, I ask a lot of a camping chair. I’m still careful that – no matter how long the day’s portages were – I do not flop down into it & that it is always on flat ground. (Including after one or more legs sink into the ground a little which is inevitable).
But this chair’s frame seems strong enough that I (almost) wonder if I could be less obsessive about being careful. The all metal frame clicks together easily. The seat material is tough. The design is comfortable.
It is, though, a chair for relaxing… leaning back slightly. It is awkward to sit up straight or reach for something in front of you. Yes… it wasn’t easy to pay so much for a chair (MEC’s high-end niche can make us forget that there are always products which cost much much less)… ….
A feature-rich option for the campground or your backyard, the high-backed Helinox Savanna Chair has a comfortable design and uses collapsible pole technology to pack down small. The poles are durable DAC aluminum and shock-corded construction allows them to pack down small. Comfort is enhanced by the deep seat, the wide cut of the seat, built-in arm rests, and integrated beverage holders! The in-use dimensions of the chair are 44′ high with a 27.
5′ width and a 31′ depth. The seat is raised 17. 5′ off of the ground. The chair weighs 4 pounds, 3 ounces and safely supports up to 320 pounds. The Helinox Savanna Chair is available in your choice of color options.

4V battery as the Gobi Heat heated camping chair (with a patent pending design).
I have not had a chance to use this chair camping yet but will soon. We set it up in the living room to try and found the chair very sturdy and comfortable, the heat came on quickly. My only complaint is with UPS, their import and duty fees to import this into Canada was excessive $137.
83. I want another chair but paying such absorbent shipping fees is a deal breaker. I hope that in the future Gobi Heat will have additional shipping options. To reiterate the Chair is great very good construction and quality from what I can see.
We’ve bought many camping chairs over the years for various events and reasons but with this chair, we’ve found our holy grail. It’s very comfortable overall as a chair even without being turned on so we use it even on warm days by the beach but we love the heated feature too.
My wife gets really cold and she practically lives in this chair when we’re outside watching a game in the cold.
Although pricey for a camp chair, I do love it. Just the perfect amount of heat on the back and seat to take the chill out. I’ve used it on some of our oddly mild winter days here in the Show Me State while the puppy was out doing business.
I’ve only used a few times and not sure longevity of battery/when I’ll need to replace that, but I do recommend if you can afford.

With a weight of just over 1lb. , there’s no reason you shouldn’t have a comfy, four-legged chair to kick back and relax in. The Skyline UL Chair packs small, assembles quickly, and gives you the comfort you need to enjoy the backcountry spot you worked so hard to get to.
While the chair is compact and their hubless design is innovative, there is a major flaw. The hubless design is achieved by the leg and seat poles coming together through the central horizonal bar. The leg and seat poles come together like your typical tent pole in which one side has an inner pole which is inserted to the other pole.
This is ok, however, because this chair’s design relies on the poles to be in an exact orientation (due to the bends), the outer pole has a is staked so that the inner pole does cannot spin. However, these stakes/punch indentations are so weak and minimal that the inner pole causes a misalignment of the leg and seat poles.
Then the seat is not in the correct position and makes it uncomfortable to sit in.

The stable square base keeps you comfortable and supported. The Ground Chair’s design creates a wider platform that distributes weight more evenly across its surface area to resist sinking into sand, soft grass, or wet ground.
Advanced materials and design make it ultralight and highly compact. Weighing just 1lb 7oz (640g), it is easy to throw in a backpack, clip to a daypack, stuff in panniers, or stash in the car for impromptu adventures.
Like every Helinox travel chair, the frame is made from a proprietary DAC aluminum alloy that delivers an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio. The seat, made from a 600D polyester with breathable monofilament mesh side panels, is built for years of outdoor use.
Set-up is fast, intuitive, and easy. An internal bungee cord snaps the frame into place, then the 19. 5 x 21. 5 inch seat slides right on. Disassembled, the frame and seat fold up to fit in the included 12 x 4 x 4 inch carry sack for easy storage and transport.
Delivering comfort, strength, and support in an ultra-lightweight design, the Helinox Ground Chair a go-to for ounce counters who prefer a stable seat that won’t sink in soft ground.
I fricken love this chair. Just took it out for its first camping trip and I found I often chose it over my hammock simply because it was easier to move into the shade. I’m amazed at how comfortable it is for such a small, lightweight thing.
I was able to both relax back with a book and sit forward to cook and eat comfortably. The materials are super solid. Sometimes I’m like “can this little thing seriously be that sturdy?” But then I look at the thickly padded and reinforced pole pockets, where I’d expect the most tension and wear to appear over time, and if they’re any sign of the quality of construction, I’m confident it will hold up (pun intended).
At first I was unsure about buying this model because I couldn’t tell from the pics if the mesh panels were flimsy, but I was pleasantly surprised; this mesh is hella sturdy stuff and it’s not gonna rip or stretch out.
The whole fabric sling piece feels extremely well constructed. I chose this model over the chair zero because I like the frame shape and anti-sinking properties it affords. It looks more stable and aesthetically pleasing to me than the legs on the other one.
I’d definitely worry I’d snap one of those little legs off with any wiggling around I’d do. Worth the extra weight imo. The whole thing sets up and folds down quickly and smoothly, no cursing involved.
The fabric piece folds up and wraps neatly over the collapsed frame and it all slips easily into the provided bag. The only two things I can knock it for are 1) the price. I’m glad I got a solid, high-quality item, but does everything good really have to cost this much? It’s just a chair dang.
And 2) black is a nice neutral color sure to be a crowd pleaser, but I would have liked a brighter more cheerful color choice as well. Neither of these are really points against, overpriced gear is par for the course these days, and we can’t win ‘em all as far as color.
If you like to sit in a somewhat relaxed back position with your legs “up” out in front of you I don’t think there is a better ultralight or even light weight chair out there. This chair is seriously light and I love mine and take it all over the place.
I’m really happy to see this one back on the shelves at MEC, its a unique and excellent product. The lack of real legs that app the other chairs in the lightweight chair world have does away with a serious weak point they have, and on top, this chair is way less prone to sinking in soft ground.
The low height lets you sit comfortably inside even small backpacking tents, use the ground as your side table. Something to consider though is if you are camping with others on standard height chairs you’ll be sitting below them.
Some people I’ve spoken to hate this idea. I don’t care at all. Personal preference there. There are two downsides that I feel need to be mentioned. 1) something I’m really disappointed with Helinox for is they don’t seem to supply spare frame parts, even to dealers, so if you crack one of the frame connectors or bend a pole you need to buy a new chair (or MEC might take it back).
I’ve seen these break. 2) I would also say it needs to be treated as what it actually is, an ultralight chair. It can get jammed up with sand and it can be a little fragile – this is not a chair to hand your young kids to climb all over, or an adult to lean on the wrong way.
The frame is not made to be loaded off angle and it will break if you do.
I love Helinox products, and this ground chair will be a perfect addition to my upcoming weeks of field work. I’ve set it up at home so far, and have enjoyed sitting under my window and closer to floor level to escape some of the summer heat in my flat.
The design is excellent, a stable frame that is easy to set up and take down, and I love that the contact points on the ground are a connected in a square with broader feet to minimise sinking. I enjoy the slight recline of the chair, and feel it gives decent back support in a reclined sitting position.
As ever, I love how compact and extremely lightweight this chair is, and I like the coyote tan colour I received. Great product!.
The BTR stool is the ultimate lightweight and packable tripod stool for your outdoor adventures. Whether you are camping, backpacking, hunting, fishing, bikepacking or practicing photography in front or backcountry.
For context, I’m a photographer who primarily keeps this stool as part of my every day carry kit. I originally bought a larger, heavier, and cheaper stool and immediately regretted it. It was awkward to try and fit into my 30L pack without it protruding or having to carry it separately, and I wanted something convenient that I could always bring with me without worrying about inconveniencing myself or bumping into people or things.
I bought this stool after seeing the very backpack I used in a reference photo, easily fitting into one of the side bottle pockets. Size being my main concern, I was pleasantly surprised that the stool is also a featherweight.
Weighing in at around 360 grams, I don’t need to factor weight or size into my calculations when bringing this stool with me- In fact, the only reason I wouldn’t bring this stool with me is if I had absolutely no room for it in my pack or if I was absolutely certain I’d have no need for it.
It seems funny to me that such a simple item could excite me as much as it does, but it really brings a huge amount of convenience to my life, at very little cost in weight, size, and even dollars when I consider that I plan to have and use this stool indefinitely.
I’ve even started using it for shooting my shorter subjects when I’m doing portraits, en lieu of having to awkwardly crouch. The one thing I will say is that the stool does feel maybe a bit short for me at 6 feet, but not uncomfortably so.
I’d like to have the 17 inch model at some point for times where I want to sacrifice some size for comfort, but I think I’ll survive fine with the 14 for now. Long story short, I bought it for a specific purpose as a photographer, but I find myself planning to use it when I go just about anywhere- this thing is really cool.
Wfie set it up in the yard and a leg broke off at the joint shortly after sitting down. Seeing as she’s FAR under the recommended weight limit it makes me at 6′ 180 lbs scared to even use mine (we ordered 2).
Purchased primarily for hiking, camping, disc golf. Have many other less expensive chairs though they weigh more. Thought we’d give these a try. Appears the lower weight comes at the cost of sturdiness/strength/reliability.
Just tried mine while wife took a look and there is significant bowing on one of the legs. Could be the failure point. Sadly I can’t recommend this product and definitely won’t use/trust mine. Liked everything else about it (weight, color, seat, size).
Disappointed in the stool and wasted money. Plastic to metal at the most stressed part of the chair is probably a bad idea.
We strive to provide new innovative products to meet the need of the rapidly changing world we live in. Our goal is to provide products made with the finest material and consistent and high quality processes.
Features. Coleman Outpost Elite Deck Chair Green. Specifications: Color: Green. Size: 19. 75 x 13. 00 x 6. 50.
I needed to replace 2 long serving fold up chairs and decided to look for something a bit more up market than a simple fold up option. My criteria were – comfortable, simple to operate, light weight, side tray and not a stupid price.
The Coleman chair met the middle 3 with comfort later proven by use. Initially I was discounting it as an option due to the price which at £84. 99 I was not prepared to pay however when I found them through Trackpack at under £50 I decided to buy as Coleman have never disappointed me with their products in the past.
The chairs were delivered timely and in good condition. The quality was obvious immediately. Properly shaped frames heavy duty fabric and easy to use. Having sat in one through the course of a family get together I can attest to the comfort they offer.
Properly cared for they should provide years of service. Happy buyer.
Bought two Coleman deck chairs (without side table) 7 years ago. Got a lot of use camping and on days away. Best thing is the chair does not sink into soft ground or sand because of the tubular leg design.
Packs skinny. Fabric is hard wearing, soft and comfortable. Very stable. Easy to clean. Will last a lifetime.
These are really good chairs. We prefer this chair over the other style (the one that folds together by the legs and can be stored in a carrying bag) because this style has a firm seat and back that don’t scrunch your shoulders together while you sit.
We have about 6 of these chairs and we use them a few times a week for about 5 years. The tray is strong enough to hold a plate of food and a drink with no problem. It’s pretty sturdy, but the cupholder could stand to be a little deeper.
The only problem we’ve had with these chairs is that the stitching on the seat of the chair that attaches the canvas to the top rail of the X frame has slowly torn out on 2 of the chairs. I assume all of the chairs will meet the same date eventually.
The frame and canvas material are all still in great shape regardless of the torn stitching. I’m currently looking for a way to stop ch the broken chairs back up with some kind of heavy thread. Overall, these are great, comfortable chairs.
Very good quality for the price. I would definitely recommend.

Equipped with two adjustable leg heights, a cup holder, two cargo pockets and an integrated pillow, the Lounger DL is the most versatile and nap-worthy chair on the market.
Features 250 lb Capacity. Adjustable Leg Height 2 Cup Holders and Cargo Pockets Shock-Coreded. Weight: 74 oz. Dimensions: 32” x 23”x 37”/30”.
This is unquestionably a very comfortable chair, and Emo knocked it out of the park on that end. But putting the is thing back in the bag is such a hassle you will find you become reluctant to ever get this thing out.
It has a top-loading, very tight bag and for each chair you get out you will get to spend 10-15 minutes cramming, unrolling, re-rolling, more cramming. Ugh. If they had zipper bags like Big Agnes uses it would probably be a home run.
While it is indeed a comfortable chair, there are lots of comfortable beach chairs out there and you’re likely looking at this one because it packs down to a small size. Problem is, the packing down of this chair will get you so frustrated you will be tempted to chuck it out into the ocean.
I took a picture of this chair and its tag while window shopping in the Lower 48. I live in Alaska and we often do activities requiring us to pack super light. I ordered one as soon as I came back to AK.
This chair is half the size and weight of other chairs when in its pack. The most comfortable; supporting all the right parts of my back. I love having pockets on both sides, too. Easy to clean. Easy to assemble & break down.
My friends who have seen me sitting in it try ot as soon as I get up and now they love/hate me because I have one and they don’t Ha! I told them all about your company so they can get one, too. and then I tell them to get out of my chair! I even set it up in my livingroom and ignore my super comfy sofa with the double chaise sometimes just to hang out in my new chair!.
Features Relax for hours with Kamp-Rites Director’s Chair with Side Table & Cooler. The strong yet lightweight reinforced aluminum frame supports up to 225 lbs. The over sized padded seat and chair back feature heavy-duty polyester fabric while the curved armrests are angled for ergonomic comfort.
Easy to fold, easy to carry, the Director’s Chair with Side Table & cooler. The table also has a cup holder and a side cooler that holds up to 12 cans of your favorite beverages. Strong, comfortable and convenient, the Kamp-Rite Director Chair with Side Table is great for boats, campsites, tailgating and more.
I bought this because of its weight rating and standard seat height. I had previously purchased a “Big & Tall” chair only to find that my legs didn’t reach the ground. The leg design is great, the horizontal bar between front & back legs keeps the chair from sinking into soft ground.
It does take up more space when folded than some other chairs as it only collapses in the side-to-side direction, leaving a flat but rather large item for storage.
It is a very nice chair. Heavy duty frame table is very good quality and love the cooler. Only disappointment was a dent in the frame but doesnt effect the chair. I cant wait to use it this summer. Had knee replacement cant sit outside yet.

Bought the Expander chair after seeing a couple of videos. Delivery was prompt and chair arrived well packaged. Didn’t take long to figure out how to construct and deconstruct but the real test is getting your bum on the seat.
It’s very comfy, so much so that my partner got me to order one for her as soon as we got home! The Expander’s small footprint is a winner as we have limited storage in our campervan. So, if you’re looking for comfy camp chairs that are well built, are easy to use and fold up into a very small package and are well priced then I suggest you buy an Expander or two.
During our last camping trip I had to fit four bulky chairs, leaving out some other things I wanted to take. The front runner expander chairs are the perfect low profile chairs for our set up. Super small and light weight.
I plan on using them today for the Veterans Day parade in our town. Get some.

Okay, let me start by saying this is a pretty lengthy review. First off, I bought this chair almost 3 1/2 years ago. So this is a long term review also. I LARP, I let other people use my seats, and let me tell you when I say this thing is quality.
I’m a big girl, almost 300 pounds and sat in it constantly. I flop when I sit, so its taken some abuse in those years. This chair has been a couch, a bed and it’s so comfortable. The padding is so soft, it dries fast when left outside in the rain too.
I’ve fallen asleep in this chair more times than I can count and was devastated when I found the center bar broken after so long. So, I’d give this chair a solid 5, more if I could.
I bought this for my son to sit in and hang out at his brother’s baseball games and thought $40 seemed like a pretty decent price! I ordered it online and 2 days later it was delivered to my house. then took it out of the box and thought WOW! This chair is huge but seemed like great quality! I has a nice bag with a strap to put it in for easy carry too.
My son opened it up and when we sat down we were both were like WOW!!!! This chair is amazing! They both wanted one to hang out in their room in haha! We plopped it open in the driveway and watched them play basketball and I didn’t want to get up! It’s big, but not too big, crazy comfortable, seems to be very sturdy and well built and the fabric is thick and cushy! Also the back is tall enough to lay your head back and just relax! So happy we bought this and will definitely be getting a lot of use out of it! Would highly recommend and is a great deal at $40!.
I don’t normally write reviews but thought I would about this item. I needed seats for. my deck and found this on Walmart. com. I bought one along with 2 oversized chairs. the seat arrived within a couoke of days.
it came in a storage pouch and unfolded easily. I sat in it and was instantly in love with it. i even laid on it to just relax and watch the clouds. this chair became everyone’s favorite. I ordered a second chain and put the other chairs aside.
I just ordered another for my sister who came to visit and also fell in love with it. So far the only problem I’ve had is getting wet. It does soak up the rain and take a while to dry. We lay it on its side in the sunshine and it dries pretty fast.
I could bring it into the house if I know the rain is coming. It’s not heavy and folds easily. I would definitely recommend this chair to anyone looking for a comfy seat to sit on. Easy to fold, lightweight, VERY comfortable, and seats 2 people with no problem.
You might want to buy more than one. It will become everyone’s favorite chair.

This was somewhat a gray purchase. I say somewhat because it’s smaller than I expected, yet, it still works. Only thing is different from the large is, there are NOT adjustable straps for the back & it’s good size for 5 year old to 7 years old.
BUT… the awesome things is, it can hold up to 160lbs. STRONG! No seriously! It does! Although I suggest NOT letting anyone of that weight to use it for themselves. I CAN eventually give and break. So, get the large chair if you can.
Lol! But I had it set up for my little ones who are 8 & 13. When they came home they sat in it and loved it! (Probably cause it swings. Lol!) But it was a bit small for them. ESPECIALLY my 13 year old.
As HUGE as the large adult one is, I didn’t expect this one to be so small. I assumed it would be at least 3-4 feet high. But it was more like 2 ft. I think my 2 year old granddaughter would fit in it perfectly.
BUT, I wouldn’t suggest letting toddlers use this unless they were well coordinated. Only because it’s not stable for little ones who’s still working on their balance. Otherwise, as long as they can SIT in it WITHOUT HELP, I think it’s perfect! Funny thing is… although my 8 year old seems a bit tall for this chair, she sits in it VERY COMFORTABLY.
Her friends even enjoy sitting in it too. But, as i said earlier… it’s probably because of the whole swinging thing. I, myself sit in it from time to time. But I’m quite petite compared to most adults.
5’ 1” @ I’d like to say 125 but realistically im around 150. COVID is my excuse for such weight gain. Heehee! My husband, on the other hand, is extremely larger than I am could sit in it too. But I’m sure he’ll break it eventually.
He’s not obese, but he is MUCH taller and a bit on the broad muscle builder type. 5’ 11” to 6’ 1” (on a good day-haha) @ 230. So, if he could sit in it for a moments time, the durability on this brand or item is worth the cost.
THAT’S my point! Oh and the backseat isn’t as high, so as an adult, sitting back is quite uncomfortable. You can’t really relax fully in this chair. But as a child, they can! It’s like a one-seater hammock for them.
But this is something worth looking into for families who has little kids, NOT SPECIFICALLY TODDLERS or babies, more for 5 year olds and up. (Depending on height and coordination) Especially for those who’s always on the go with outdoor activities.

Well I have gotten to actually use it yet since I got it for get togethers. However, my 2 boys seem to think it is quite comfy as they slept on it all day the day I pulled it out. Went to put it back in the bag but didn’t zip it all the way and one or both tried unzipping the bag (lol).
Can’t wait to actually use it myself though. On a side note, I got this one after having several of the other double chairs from target that isn’t padded and has a bar type thing under the middle. This one does not so I’m hoping it will be more comfortable to lay across (fingers crossed).
