I found the book to be a real eye opener. I’ve been married 21 yrs. , and this book helped me to put a finger on what I could see in my husband but never identify, much less name. I am goin to have my teenage daughter read it to help her avoid making poor choices of immature men.

It could have been written a bit better but the concept is right on track. Bravo!.

I wasn’t impressed by the book. That started off with knowing the geography of the area. The author suggests that floods would cause that part of Canada to wash into Vermont, but Vermont is uphill from Canada! Later in the book, it seemd to me that the author couldn’t make up her mind as to where the story was going.

Another riveting novel in the series with Inspector Gamache is my review of the 15th book about the characters in the Quebec village of Three Pines and the Surete du Quebec. The people in the stories are just as lifelike and charismatic as they were in the other novels.

There is a reality here of life as we know it as difficult and challenging, but with the hope of the counterbalance of the love and caring of family and friends healing the wounds. Louise Penny takes you farther into this world of murder and mystery than many of the other writers in this genre.

Loved the series at first but it should have ended 2 books ago. The plots are great. The descriptions are awesome but. It could be that while I love the way Penny writes , I despise her hero Gamache & his wife and Clara the artist.

They are exactly what their detractors in the series say they are so I have no empathy for them. I do love Ruth the poet & Jean Guy. Its time for Gamache to retire and Penny to start a new book or series.

Somewhat informative, light reading. Sort of a Ripley’s Believe It or Not about the”Human Condition. ” If you’ve read a lot of science, nothing new here. Even so, somewhat interesting in a “Ripley’s Believe It or Not” sort of way.

Learnt a few things. Not a “Laugh out Loud” book as some of Bryson’s first books were. This is a list of scientific and medical facts about the human body with a few of Bryson’s humorous asides thrown in for good measure.

I believe this book is about Bill Bryson’s body. It starts of interesting, informative and vigorous but the further into the book you go the more it becomes a boring old man medical view of the body.

In the parts that deal with sex there is little discussion about sexual diversity. It is glib, focussed on mechanics and not much detail there also. When it comes to emotions, the appendix will show there is more about farts than emotions.

There is also very little about the body in politics, the definition of, control over, the battles over women’s bodies, slavery etc. Foucault doesn’t crack a mention. So it is disappointing. However I would recommend this as the is some fascinating facts about our bodies.

I just gave this book to my Orthopedic surgeon as a thank you for repairing my torn tendons in my left knee. It is full of fascinating medical history and makes one appreciate the wonders of out bodies.

Highly recommended as are his Walk in the Woods, etc.

My copy stays by my Bible study area. I bought on for my daughter this Christmas. I wanted to see how the Disciples spread the Good News after Christ disappeared into the clouds. Each story was enlightening.

I use it over and over.

An easy, interesting read with many facts I didn’t know before. I thought it was very well written. I downloaded the ebook, but later ordered a paperback copy for my adult son. The book would be a nice gift.

Anything MacArthur writes is worth reading. Sound, Scriptural, Helpful, Encouraging. A must read for everyone and especially for men – young and old. How amazing that “twelve ordinary men” changed the world.

Excellent book for dating and marriages!!! We read it for our 30th anniversary but my husband said it would have been great if someone had given it to us while we were dating! I agree! The man and woman’s books were both excellent!!.

I started reading this book as a part of a church couples’ series. The insight provided is an eye-opener! I remember telling an airport shuttle bus full of guys about the “windows. ” They all let out a collective “ahhh!” I lost/misplaced the book in my travels/movements while my better half left her “For Women Only” with a close friend.

I purchased another copy to refresh my mind.

Very interesting studies of what women are thinking. I don’t agree with all of it but in general it’s good reading for men in relationships. Shows where they may be misinterpreting a women’s behavior and responses.

Madeline Miller presents this elegant and devastatingly beautiful story, contemporarily reimagining Homer’s mythological tale ‘Iliad’. This reconceptualisation of a tale as old as history presents modern and ancient philosophies of changing gender expectations and the influence of power and agency over the aspirations of both male and female characters.

As far as queer literature goes, this is absolutely one of the most perfectly and beautifully crafted pieces ever written. I found that regardless of the gender of the two protagonists, this book merely showcased two people, who, were simply and utterly, in love.

As a historically fictional and mythological retelling, Miller characterises the heroes, gods, and men over the course of the book, achieving this by emphasising the importance of honour, pride, and legacy.

Personally, I discovered that the characterisation of Achilles after he receives a prophecy from the Fates before the battles at Troy, alludes to the suggestion that, after the battle, ‘his honour is all that will remain’.

Miller skilfully articulates historical jargon throughout the book, in such a way that it would be comprehensible to anyone who wishes to read it. After finishing this story, I would unequivocally recommend this book for anyone over the age of 15 interested (or not) in ancient Greek mythology.

To those who wish to read this story, be prepared to have your heart – metaphorically – ripped into a thousand tiny pieces.

Madeline Miller is a sweetheart and a goddess for this one. I love the song of Achilles, and I will always have a place in my heart just for it. This is one of those books that you never want to finish, you know it would break your heart but you still read it and after reading it you sit in your tears, and you wish it has a different ending or at least a resolution in the ending that goes like, “and then they lived happily ever after”, but I guess we don’t always get what we want.

Not a summary but my wishes, likes, and dislikes: Anyway,I’m glad that Thetis later chose the right thing the do and redeemed herself. I didn’t like how Briesis ended, I dislike phyruss and I kinda like that he died.

I didn’t have any dislike for Hector, he was a good man who was fighting for the honor of his family. I despise Agamemnon because he had a hand in what happened to Patroclus, although Achilles pride was a huge contributor (reminded me so much of Arthur and Merlin).

I wish patroculus dad would’ve known the brave, strong man his son grew up to be. I wasn’t happy for the man Achilles became after the death of Patroclus. I wouldn’t say I was happy, happy at the end because I don’t think they found peace, but I’m glad that at least they found something almost like peace in the darkness of the afterlife.

This is my first greek mythology book. Considering I haven’t read greek mythology, I take into account that I can not compare them to one another but at the same time, I feel you shouldn’t compare books as they are different from one another.

But this book in my opinion in reading greek mythology was interesting and made me understand and learn more about this type of genre. In fact, if you ever choose to read this book, it will shatter your heart into a million pieces.

The plot revolves around two boys growing up with and realising that their love for each other is far more than the traditional brotherly love that is anticipated between two men. The Song of Achilles features an exiled prince who is so charming and skilled that he is ready to be the greatest warrior of his generation, a prophecy, a never-ending conflict, and a thousand emotions related to each chapter of the book.

This book also includes some Greek mythology and is fascinatingly fantastic. Would I read it again yes definitely, I think I still need to understand the concept of greek mythology to get into it,but it was a good read.

I’ve read all of Mr. Gladwell’s books and if you’re only going to read one, IMO, this is his most important, and at the risk of hyperbole, I’ll call it brilliant. He argues, and supports with substantial evidence, the idea that sheer luck plays an enormous role in how our lives turn out.

He stops short of taking the extreme deterministic position agreed upon by, oh, Einstein, Freud, and BF Skinner, to name a few of the 20th centuries most influential thinkers, but many readers will have their minds opened to consider that possibility more seriously.

The book is also the story of failure. I guess if that had been incorporated into the title it would have been less appealing. And although examples of failure due to bad luck are no doubt far more common than The Beatles or Steve Jobs, thus who experience failure, also because of (bad) luck, don’t stick out to be studies and included.

If there’s a weakness it’s that examples that con’t support his thesis are ignored. On the other hand. if his thesis is correct, and I think it is, there are no contradictory example. Outliers is, IMO, a truly great book.

I can’t thin of a book I’d recommend more highly.

A book that challenges the stereo type thinking of who is an exceptional person or group of people. The author has demonstrated that outliers are products of history and community, of opportunity and legacy.

Their success is not exceptional or mysterious. It is grounded in a web of advantages and inheritances, some deserved, some not, some earned, some just plain lucky, but all critical to making them who they are.

The book has so many examples of circumstances but the wonderful example of the Jewish emigre family to New York, the Borgenichts’ showed how Louis and Regina may have been tired and poor and overwhelmed.

For Louis being his own boss and making his own decisions, engaging his mind and imagination resulted in a relationship between effort and reward. The three things – autonomy, complexity and connection between effort and reward are, most people agree, the three qualities that work has to have if it has to be satisfying.

Meaningfulness is very important in one’s job or task for us to excel in it. Hard work is a prison sentence only if it does not have meaning. Once it does, it becomes the kind of thing that makes you grab your wife around the waist and dance a jig.

For me, a crucial lesson to those who want to tackle the upper reaches of a profession is if you work hard enough and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to your desire.

Working hard is what successful people do. Even for subjects like mathematics, it’s not ability as attitude. Success is a function of persistence and doggedness and the willingness to work. As the Chinese say “No one who can rise before dawn three hundred city days a year fails to make his family rich”.

In summary, outliers are those who have been given opportunities and who have had the strength and presence of mind to seize them. As the author summarises, “The outlier, in the end, is not an outlier at all.

This book enlightens us about the myth of land of opportunities and hard work. These myths survive because a lot of people heard of self made millionaires. Theyre usually the ones that perpetuate the illusion of hard work, good ideas produce $ucce$$.

Without proper opportunities, like being in the right place at the right time and knowing someone who can propel you in the right direction, just by ones own merit doesnt take you very far.

The start of the Kingkier series by Patrick Rothfuss. The adventures of Kvothe as told to a scribe. Brilliantly written first novel in the series. A must-read for fantasy fans.

After waiting for what seemed to be a very long time, we have the second instalment of the Kvothe trilogy. On first impressions it is the most beautiful book I have ever seen, just lovely, like you want to mount it on the wall and will brutally eviscerate anyone who disagrees that it is truly lovely.

But to the more important things. The words, the story, the continuation of the legend. Without giving it all away of course. Kvothe learnt a lot in the first book, called the wind, hatched some crafty plots, killed ‘dragons’ and such, as well as having all of his family killed.

Not that much happens in this one. Half way through the first book I realised that there was no way this would be a stand alone book (plus it said so inside the cover) and the second book makes me wonder if the trilogy will in fact be a mathematically accurate one.

I always thought that after the story in the bar you’d have him going out and doing some more stuff, but with the current rate of events it seems he might need to say up all night telling stories to be anywhere up to the places where he should be.

However that said. It is a large book, I did blow off two job interviews because I was reading it and probably didn’t get the third job because I was reading it during the interview. If you’ve read the first one you’re going to buy it no matter what, if you haven’t read the first one go read it and then you’ll read the second one no matter what.

I’m waiting till I can order the third one from MightyApe, because as soon as it’s out I’m going to be calling in sick days.

This book has bee one of the greatest reads of the last hundred or more years! With every page we learn more of the world in which Kvoth the bloodless resides and the beliefs of the people whom he deals with.

Beginning where the first book (Name of the Wind) left of: we learn more about his past actions he blames for the recent dangers loose upon the land, we learn the truth behind the fables illustrating him as both hero and villain and his passion for Denna whom rarely shows up when expected.

From beginning to end this book will hook you, for each chapter you advance; it will amaze you and just when believe you know the outcome of events; it will surprise you. Patrick Rothfus has given us quite a gift from his vivid imagination and the time taken to write this second book was well worth the wait for his readers.

If anyone loves a fantasy book rich with detail, humanity and real story telling then this novel is for you. Kvoth is the man many wish they were, the man many hate to become and someone to aspire to in so many ways.

Yet he is still human.

This novel is America’s best novelist’s best novel. No Country For Old Men is entertaining and exciting. It paints a true picture of 1980’s West Texas. The characters are spot-on, the plot is original and interesting.

I’m reminded of a famous Texas movie critic’s remarks concerning as to why the motion picture industry is so interested in Texas: because evil thrives in Texas. In No Country For Old Men, as in real life: evil thrives in Texas.

First let me say that my opinion is currupted having seen the movie prior to reading the book. I have to say that I enjoyed the movie better as it gave a darker view of the story and the acting was outstanding.

Without giving any spoilers, I will say that the book varies somewhat from the movie and does provide a few more answers to questions that I had after watching it. There was a balance of characters that had more of a roll in the book but less or not at all in the movie.

The book stayed true to the main characters overall but I thought the book made Anton’s character seem a bit more human (if thats possible) than the movies depiction of him being this evil, almost ghost of a man.

I was not crazy about the authors style of writing when he was giving descriptions of things or actions of the characters but enjoyed the vocabulary used by all as I have lived in the southwest and I am also a lawman which the latter made me able to relate to Sheriff Bell.

I kind of feel the same way he does sometimes. Anyway, I can go on and on but will say that I probably would have given 4 stars if I had not been spoiled by the Cohen Brothers film. (I’m a big fan of thiers) That being said, if you can do so, read the book first then definitely see the movie.

Seller was amazing, really quick. Really good price on the book. The book itself was awful but that is my opinion. The English language used is very Southern American and is just really bad. I wonder if people actually talk like that, or used to, because it is just ridiculous.

I found it very distracting, I think the story might be good but I just wasn`t able to get into it as the bad grammar was very hard to read.

Our modern world is built on codes. Whether it is the computer code that makes everything work, the encryption which keeps everything safe or the multiple layers of meaning in human culture which give our world its richness of structure, this book covers it all.

The name, a play on the semi mythical Necronomicon, is itself a fine creation. From hiding treasure in WW2 to the modern technology for protecting data, it shows how secrecy is big business. Another mind-boggling, world spanning creation from the author who seems incapable of writing a mere novel.

I heard this book on an audiobook first, and was enthralled by the richness and depth the author gives to even the most minor character. There is a grittiness to it that makes it feel more authentic during the WWII scenes than even Das Boot.

The only downside I ever saw to this book is that how every single person in it gets tied together in the two timelines seems a little too contrived. It’s the whole premise of the book, however, it’s more the how, than the why that seems contrived.

Even with that however, Cryptonomicon is one of the best books I have read. It is in the same vein as War and Peace for shear size and scale, not to mention immediate classic status. If you love history, politics, personal struggle, and the occasional love story, this book is a must read.

This is without a doubt the most amazing, challenging, whimsical and startlingly unique book I’ve ever read. Basically a sprawling, picaresque novel about code-making and code-breaking, Cryptonomicon is actually three novels in one, featuring healthy portions of World War II adventure, cryptography and high-tech finance, with treasure hunting thrown in for good measure.

It is filled with the most unique characters I’ve run across in fiction in many years whose adventures absolutely defy description. Serendipity plays a role large enough to be another character in the story, for everyone in the book seems to cross paths and entangle destinies frequently enough to defy belief–yet these crossed paths seem wholly logical within the framework of the story.

If there is any drawback to the book it may be its size which could prove daunting to some readers, and the length of time it takes for the reader to see how the desparate decades and characters are going to interface for the real fireworks of the story.

In addition, a couple of chapters early on deal with extremely technical scientific and mathematical matters and simply can’t be considered “light” reading. I don’t have much interest in higher mathematics but was fascinated by the way the author used these subjects to illuminate basics of code-breaking for less-scientifically grounded readers.

But if you, like me, have never found any novel too long, and are willing to dive headfirst into subjects outside the general realm of fiction, you’re in for a thrilling read!.

It was delightful to re-visit the world of Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron at the Coopers Chase retirement community, characters readers grew to know and love from Richard Osman’s 2020 smash hit The Thursday Murder Club.

In this outing, the team of sept- and octogenarian crime fighters become embroiled with British Security Service MI5 after Elizabeth’s former husband, who’s still with the secret service, makes contact with her.

A cache of valuable diamonds have gone missing from the nearby home of a shady middleman. Ibrahim is mugged while on a visit to town, the culprit escaping the scene. The team’s friendly police contacts, DCI Chris Hudson and PC Donna De Freitas, are meanwhile on obbo, attempting to catch a nefarious female crime boss in the act.

After three violent deaths, the three separate storylines gradually converge as the Thursday Murder Club use their combined skills, charm and wide range of contacts to shed light on who are the good guys, who are the bad, and who are a bit of both.

Building upon the solid foundation of The Thursday Murder Club, the characterisations of the central quartet are quirky and sympathetic. The supporting cast, both returning characters and new, are also well-developed and intriguing.

The plot of The Man Who Died Twice is more complex and beguiling than that of its predecessor, and Richard Osman strikes a perfect balance between pathos, humour and intrigue. While I believe reading The Man Who Died Twice as a standalone would prove an entertaining and rewarding experience, I would strongly recommend reading in series order, for the sake of character development in particular.

I’d highly recommend The Man Who Died Twice to any reader who enjoys character-driven mysteries with a nice dollop of humour. It’s a delightful and engrossing read. When Ibrahim is attacked and someone from Elizabeths past returns, the four retirement community residents, along with the police friends Chris and Donna, come together to solve Ibrahims attack as well as a diamond heist related to Elizabeths mysterious visitor.

A delightful whodunnit with an Agatha Christie vibe, what follows is the same plucky fun found in Osmans first novel in the series as the group must determine who can be trusted and which clues should be followed.

Osman does a great job of creating characters that bring joy as well as intrigue, reminding us of Jane and Joe Marples, as well as characters that are delightfully bad. This story deals with some themes, too, like revenge versus forgiveness; learning what and whom to trust; loyalty and friendship; and things arent always as they seem.

Fans of cozy mysteries and authors like Christie and Charlaine Harriss Aurora Teagarden (another true crime group) will love this story. The book, which is due out Sept. 28, does include occasional curse words, for those concerned about that.

I am someone who often asks deep questions about the meaning of life. This book has paralleled those questions and given them more meaning. Viktor Frankl was not only a Holocaust survivor but a clinical psychiatrist.

He gives his own accounts of his time in a concentration camp, intriguing written from his perspective. Then he merges that in the latter half of the book with his explanations on Logotherapy, a clinical methodology he contributed to.

Humanity, good and bad is covered through the book, but I felt it had an admirable tone of perseverance and prevail of the human spirit. Matched with his contributions as a clinician. I’ve recommend this book to my family and friends.

Man’s Search for Meaning is a 1946 book by psychiatrist Viktor Frankl chronicling his experiences as an Auschwitz concentration camp inmate. Frankl and his fellow prisoners had to endure atrocities that many of us cannot even imagine.

Prisoners had to survive on one small piece of bread a day and maybe some thin soup. They had to work 20 hours each day, digging and laying railroads and so on. If you looked weak, you were beaten. If you stopped working, you were beaten.

And you didnt get much of a second chance after that. You could be killed for any reason. When suffering fills your life, what do you do? Do you take up your cross? Do you remain brave, dignified and unselfish? Or do you become no more than an animal? Most men in a concentration camps believed that the real opportunities of life had passed.

Yet, in reality, there was an opportunity and a challenge. One could make a victory of those experiences, turning life into an inner triumph, or one could ignore the challenge and simply vegetate, as did a majority of the prisoners.

What a wonderful freedom to discover that you can choose your own meaning and that meaning with keep you filled with life.

This is vital reading for anyone suffering or suicidal. You are led through Viktor Frankl’s brave and stark account of life amidst the brutality and cruelty of concentration camps, to see that even there, in the worst of places, human beings are hardwired to find meaning.

In fact, you see that those who did, and who found the deepest inner strength, sometimes survived even when their physical bodies were challenged by disease and starvation. This is a man, a psychiatrist, truly fit to speak about how to find meaning and hope in life.

He has been to hell and back. This is no textbook, ivory tower author. He leads us out of the concentration camps to see how meaning can be found in even the most painful and seemingly hopeless situations.

No situation is beyond the ability to see a meaning in it. You see that it is ok to be suffering. That is not to glorify suffering, but you can see how any suffering becomes bearable if you are led to see a meaning in it.

Please, please read this book if you are suffering in any way or have lost hope and/or contemplate suicide. It will help you see that even if you feel desperate, you can go on, that there is a meaning.

The help and insights of this book are invaluable. A must, must read.

Wish I could give this more then five stars because it deserves it! Where to begin. OMG JEM I don’t think I could have felt more emotions with this book. Our Lord is back and just when you think that his tramples couldn’t become more.

This book will have you laughing and crying and every emotion in between. You have to trust Jodi with this one. It is a beautiful story and tells the true Epic kind of love that Jesse and Ava have for each other.

Get ready for a rollercoaster ride full of emotion. With out giving any spoilers you will love this book just as much as the first if not more when you get the complete story of Jesse and Ava. Jodi has done it yet again all I can say is thank you for giving us such a wonderful book.

It is beautifully written and it shows us just why we loved the Lord in the first place.

If you love the This Man Trilogy well this follow up is just what I needed. It proves Jesses love for Ava is still strong and will fight for her in life. It doesnt disappoint in any way like some books can but gives you more than you anticipate.

Strongly recommend. Easy read. Author presents 4 Maxiums/Principles for men to live by. He also portrays examples of chrarcter traits true men can live out and shows how they were lived out by men in history.

No guilt trip but an encouragement to be a man. Not a book about being a chauvinist but about what it means to be a godly man and living a life of honor that will leave a positive legacy on generations to come.

Women and society would be all the better if more men would take this book to heart.

This is such an enjoyable book! To read a book that speaks so highly of MEN is so refreshing. MEN are powerful and awesome. To raise a real man takes a real man! Dont underestimate the power of a husband to raise your little men.

Right from the get go the atmosphere is created to inspire a man to be his best. Take a journey through time and find in yourself the qualities that make a man…..a Man.

I chose the audiobook for practical reasons. The book would probably work even better as a physical book, where it really is a manual, a “hand-book,” that you have “at hand,” so you can look it up and use it in your daily life.

In terms of content, the book is excellent and a real help in my life as a Christian and as a man. The content also has a freedom and some surprising qualities that I find fascinating. You should hear it several times so that it sits on your spine, not to mention in your soul.

A great heirloom piece, this book is handcrafted in beautiful brown grain leather with edges guided in opulent gold, and it can be personalized, which is what I did for my husband as a Father’s Day gift, his name embossed in a beautiful script font.

He absolutely loves it and treasures not just the outside but the beautifully written words held within, furthering and depending his passion and growth for being a godly man. We couldn’t be happier with our purchase.

Thank you to Celadon Books for providing me an ARC of this book to review. This review is not in any way influenced by the author or publisher. Set in the UK, “The Whisper Man”, has several alternating points of view (POV) – Tom Kennedy, his son Jake, Detective Inspector (DI) Pete Willis.

It even takes a POV of the kidnapper and killer. It begins with the abduction of a child – Neil Spencer, just like the ones some 20 years before. DI Willis has some experience there – he was the one who put Frank Carter away.

Spencer volunteers in the search for Neil. Willis is also haunted by the fact that the body of one of Carter’s victims was never found. Carter was called the “Whisper Man” due to the fact he would whisper at their windows prior to their abduction.

Tom Kennedy (a recent widower) decides that he and his son Jake need a fresh start. Interestingly it is Jake who picks the house in Featherbank after seeing it online. And, Tom hopes that once they move, things will get better.

But that doesn’t happen. Jake talks about a boy in the floor, butterflies, and then there is the strange rhyme he claims to have learned from his imaginary friend: “If you leave a door half open, soon you’ll hear the whispers spoken.

If you play outside alone, soon you won’t be going home. If your window’s left unlatched, you’ll hear him tapping at the glass. If you’re lonely, sad, and blue, the Whisper Man will come for you. ” After a near break-in, Tom investigates his garage and makes a gruesome discovery – one that connects with his own past and the past of DI Willis.

Then Jake starts hearing “whispers”. This was “Silence of the Lambs” with a hint of the Slender Man Urban Legend. Terrifying, riveting, and a page-turner. The readers will be surprised as to who Tom’s father is, who Jake’s imaginary friend is, and the connection between the new killer and the old one.

Tom Kennedy, and his son, Jake, move to a new town after the death of Jake’s mother. Becoming acclimated to a new town is hard for him; even harder when young boys go missing in town. ⠀ ⠀ Please be aware that I have listed trigger warnings at the bottom of this post for those who may be interested in picking this novel up.

⠀ ⠀ “The Whisper Man” is a chilling fiction thriller that follows multiple POVs, which makes the flow of the story so much better. I thought I was able to figure out “whodunnit,” and each time I thought I had it, I was blindsided.

The pacing was great; I thought it wasn’t too slow and wasn’t too fast. The only thing I wish it had more of was the thrills. While it was suspenseful, I wish it had more scary scenes. ⠀ ⠀ This is the first novel of Alex North’s that I have picked up, and I know it won’t be the last.

The Whisper Man by Alex North is one of those books that captures your attention instantly and stays in your mind long after the last page is turned. Tom Kennedy and his seven-year-old son Jake move to the English small town of Featherbank to start a new life after the sudden death of Tom’s wife.

It was in Featherbank that, twenty years before, a psychopath had abducted and killed five young boys. Detective Pete Willis did not rest until Frank Carter was arrested and jailed forever for these horrible crimes.

Carter was called the Whisper Man because the parents of the victims reported that their children had said that a man was whispering outside their bedroom window before the abductions. Now, after all this time, another boy disappears and his mother mentions that her son had said he heard a man whispering outside the window.

Detectives Pete Willis and Amanda Beck believe that the perpetrator must be an accomplice of the Whisper Man. And then, little Jake Kennedy hears whispers in the night! This book is more than creepy: what makes it shine is the sensitive way the author develops the relationships.
